"Company Admits Illegal Hiring," Montreal Star. March 4, 1943. Page 3. ---- Two fines were imposed today on the Montreal Messenger Service, Registered, for failing to comply with the law respecting National Selective Service - the second prosecution of its kind in Montreal. The three partners of the firm, Harry A. Cohen, Hyman J. Rosenberg, and Hyman J. Litwin were summoned for engaging Paul Emile Roussin without a permit from the National Selective Service, and also with discharging the same man without giving a separation or dismissal notice.
Mr. Litwin appeared for his partners and pleaded guilty to both charges before Judge Amedee Monet, who imposed a fine of $25 and costs for engaging the man without a permit, and $10 and costs for dismissing him without giving the N.S.S. seven days' notice. The alternative to the fine in each case was one month in jail.

Can we just take one fucking minute to appreciate Nicky Hopkins? Aka the greatest sessions pianist of all time (also a founding member of The Jeff Beck Group and the keyboardist in Quicksilver Messenger Service)

No More Changes (1975)
Soundtracks
The Fugitive (1992)
Patio (1992)

Selected performances and collaborations

I'm going to scream. I got a bug up my butt to learn about the history of the concept of mail and I'm trying to search for books but all I'm getting is results for the US postal service. Which is fine, that's definitely a part of the history but I want to know about MORE THAN JUST THE USPS it doesn't matter how many boolean search terms I use it's still just giving me us postal history
