I was feeling really restless and couldn't focus on any of the Tasks I want to be doing, but I also didn't want to go for a walk because the sidewalks are covered in ice right now, so I made a jumprope out of a pair of old curtain pulls and skipped a little bit and that seems to have sufficiently tired me out. Hopefully now I can get back to work on the glove sewing video!
#tassels#skipping rope#I got these at the thrift store because I'm a sucker for light green and they matched my curtains at the time#(also they're rayon and somewhat old & faded which is neat!)#but my curtains were not big enough to use ties on so I just kinda hung them off the ends of the curtain rod for decoration#and they've just been in my trim stash since I moved

Girls skipping rope on East 46th St. near 3rd Avenue, March 21, 1940. I'm not sure whether this is in Brooklyn or Manhattan.

“This short-lived spin-off of "Buster Brown" recorded the innocent scrapes of a little messenger boy and his friend Botts the Bear.”

Neurotypical people make no sense to me. Yesterday I said "I hear fireworks" in a normal tone and mum took that as a hint that I was mad at her for not being able to get tickets to a firework display for bonfire night this year. I wasn't being sarcastic (you could quite obviously tell from my tone of voice), I was just pointing out the noise because I like to point out the obvious for some reason. Like today I said "skipping rope!" while pointing at a skipping rope in the dance studio. No I wasn't hinting towards anything, I was just acknowledging it's existence as it wasn't there on Friday.
How do neurotypical people twist something as a simple statement into some elaborate hidden message?

August 28, 2024 :: Morning workout done. ✅
I followed along a Jump Rope Dudes workout with 30/10 seconds on/off jumping and that worked really well for me. Looking forward to keep doing this and get in better shape again.

Come sit at my knees
All you young lords and ladies
And I'll tell you the tale
Of the beautiful Gwendolyn Vayle,
Green were her eyes
As green as the trees.
In the forest she lived
In her little cottage by the seas.
Gentle Gwen,
With her green green eyes
Had many a suitor
(Once upon a time).
At the cawing of a crow
Each suitor left her door
(Or so she often said, her gaze glancing to the shore).
No one ever knew
(The suitors gone without a trace).
Until one day, the vicar heard
Gentle Gwen a'singing
A little ryhme to a big black bird:
"I have such lovely nightshade,
So twisted does it grow
With berries black as midnight
And a skull as white as snow!
All the silly suitors
Who came to drink my tea
They touched me without asking
And now they're sleeping in the sea!"
