Day 3: Connections

Nimue starts off her story with two main connections: her mother, Estelle, and her love, Yen Sid. However, after her home is swallowed by darkness because of Yen Sid's tampering with her experiments, Nimue finds herself alone in the Realm of Darkness for three decades.

The first person she makes a new connection with is Merlock. They quickly become a fearsome duo on their journey so Nimue can take revenge against Yen Sid and Merlock can benefit from the spoils of the sorcerer's magic. Over time, their alliance deepens into a friendship that neither are willing to admit, and yet it's obvious to everyone around them that they're operating on a level no one else can.

Chaos finds Nimue and Merlock at the behest of Maleficent, who has been betrayed by Merlock. However, when he finds them, he has no real interest in turning them in, as that means the fun will be over. He tags along on their journeys, intrigued to watch them as they either succeed or crash and burn spectacularly on their mission.

Owen has been in Traverse Town for several months, keeping eye on the wife and infant son of his employer, David Xanatos, after an experiment with some Heartless proved disastrous. Knowing that Fox and young Alexander are safe (which was Xanatos' one order to Owen), Owen is now eager to go out and search for him. Nimue asks him why he is so eager to follow the orders of a master he no longer serves - Owen does not flinch when he answers that Xanatos is more than a master, but treats Owen as much as family as Fox and Alex. Chaos is also drawn to Owen, and soon finds out why, as Owen is the alter ego of his old friend, the trickster Puck.

Mint is a disgraced princess who has lost her title, and is bound and determined to get it back. She and Nimue often clash on the subject of leadership, but Mint's resolve and fearlessness garners respect. (I made her hair the wrong shade of pink I'm sorry)

Hollander is a scientist who was once Ansem the Wise's partner, both in research and romance. However, when Ansem decided to abandon the experiments on the heart, Hollander was deeply upset. The scientist went on to aid Xehanort and the apprentices to set up their laboratories, but when it came time for them to destroy Radiant Garden and form Organization XIII they left him behind. In an effort to perfect his own experiments, Hollander used himself as a test subject, and is now slowly succumbing to the Darkness.

Magnifico is found when Owen can sense his presence locked inside of a mirror (as Puck himself has ties to a magic mirror). Magnifico is given the opportunity to join and reap the spoils of Yen Sid's magic if he chooses to aid their cause. He and Nimue bond over lost homes.

Harle is a mysterious girl with the appearance of a jester. She is cool, collected, intelligent and quick with words. Her dark powers are intriguing and very strong, yet she has an air of maturity and romanticism. She enjoys spending time with Chaos, Puck and Mint making mischief, but she is also a reliable source of wisdom for Nimue and Merlock. She probably has the most brain cells of the group alongside Owen.

Finally, there's Roxanne, who has been studying to be a sage of the light, but after a chance altercation with Nimue and Merlock (where she touches Nimue's keyblade), she finds herself able to summon her own keyblade. It's a symbol to Yen Sid that Nimue still has some light in her heart, and when Nimue sees she has accidentally bequeathed to this girl, she can't help but see herself when she was young: stalwart and innocent and daring. Nimue gives Roxanne a hard time when they cross paths, but Nimue can't bring herself to hurt the girl, and instead does what she can to guide her towards becoming an effective and courageous master.

I don't hate nexo knights season 4

now, before you bring out the pitchforks and the torches, I have reasons.

one, not many shows do corruption arcs (his petrification isn't one, fight me), two, I can see aaron developing a guilt complex over the second destruction of merlock's library and clay's absence would have been almost tangible for him. he would have stepped up, trying to become what is essentially a second clay. it kinda works. it erases his whole personality and drowns him in stress but still. it works.

the whole season feels rushed but it has some highlights. ruina being the most ruthless and evil being on the whole show is one; clay being forced to confront his death and completely not doing so; hell axl and lance playing dnd!

should have macy been the step-in leader - yes. maybe aaron being the leader was a temporary thing so as not to force lance and macy into another argument - basically shocking them into compliance? maybe aaron is supposed to be the figurehead while in actuality he and macy would have been co-leaders?

anyway. I think season 4 is full of amazing fill-in and headcanons material. there are so many questions you could ask and world-build around!

What was going through Clay's head during his stint undercover?

How does Ruina's magic affect him?

Is Aaron running on fumes trying to emulate his dead friend? Is that why Macy stepped back from pestering him about his leadership position?

How did the rest of the knights deal with Clay's descent? How did they try to help him?

Is Ava an apprentice wizard if she can pinpoint the magical power needed for a spell?

and so many moree. it's a treasure cove and sure it's tacky and a bit on the nose but still! the only thing I will not let lie is the chronological shitshow that moorington family created. i mean seriously, three hundred year old my a–

was rereading the delfino fic where dimentio explains true names to luigi, and a thought crossed my mind- can ancients be trans? if so, does their chosen name have more weight than just a standard alternative name? can their true name become a deadname or will they always have to "identify" with it? ...either way though, someone saying your birth name and it causing you immense negative emotion is a MOOD, dio

i sat on this ask for a while trying to figure out how to word an answer and i'm STILL not sure i'm going to explain it in any comprehensible way but i'm going to try

ancients are very...unrestrictive. they love whoever they want and they be whoever they want. they don't really have gender norms to begin with. i'm not positive they'd understand the concept of the term 'transgender' - if anything they'd ask why the heck there's a name for something like it (they're kind of a reverse of our society? labels just confuse them). in that sense they're more likely to feel envious of the opposite sex's body rather than feel actual dysphoria. even the shaman titles and cloak-types are negligible - a charmer can be either a Merlock or a Merlee, or change halfway through their shift. as long as it's the same class, they don't care.

true names are not associated with gender identity. HOWEVER - if you don't acknowledge the name as yours, chances are its use won't affect you. if you absolutely reject that name's connection to yourself then you're free from it. you can 'kill' a true name that way, but you can't ever replace it. you'll never know the horror of an enemy speaking it, but you'll also never know the euphoria of a loved one speaking it.

Dimentio hates his true name and thinks it doesn't suit him; despite that, he's acknowledged that it's his. because of that, it still affects him. even when he'd forgotten it for a time.

tl;dr speaking a true name is less like referring to a person's identity than it is uttering a spell that affects only them.

I promised to tell you about my character, this post is about Daenys.

How I came up with it;

One evening last year, I was sitting and remembering my life and I remembered Nexo knights. Then I rewatched it (since I didn’t remember almost anything from there), and my thoughts started spinning and bam!the outlines of the character appeared in my head! (damn, I’m a master at writing where it all began😆). To be even more honest, my love for Jestro was resurrected. (I'm not kidding) And from that day I began to think about ff, but for several months I did not dare to start.

When I was thinking about what to name the character, the first thing that came to my mind was Daenys. (then I rewatched season 1 of House of the Dragon, it is my main source of inspiration). From the beginning I thought; 'Okay, so be it, then maybe I'll choose another name.' But time passed and I could no longer perceive her with a different name. She is named after Daenys Targaryen who predicted the doom of Valyria. Daenys also has a Valyrian appearance (silver hair and one of her eyes is dark purple, and the other eye is bright green)

I thought for a long time about who she would be. There are already enough knights, we only have Merlock as a wizard. I decided that she would be a sorceress and a dragon rider. She also wears black and gold clothes. In the first 2 seasons she used a magic wand, but during the battle with Monstrox the wand was broken, she now uses rings instead. Robin created special shoes for her that will allow her to temporarily fly; shoes are also needed in case Daenys falls from the dragon. Things aren't going so well for her with magic, because, let's say, she has a different type of magic, but unfortunately Daenys is the last dragon rider (her dragon is also the last (probably)) and there is no one to teach her.

In my fanfic, King Halbert had a younger brother (I won’t say his name for now) who was a knight, but unfortunately Daenys’s parents died when she was a child and her aunt and uncle took custody of her. Merlock also gave her a golden-colored dragon egg with black spots. This egg belonged to Daenys's mother Alsina, who before her death asked the magician to give it to her daughter when she grew up. Daenys, like Daenys the dreamer, can see prophetic dreams, but cannot interpret them correctly, and there is no one especially to help her. She also sees the Red Witch (another of my characters, I won’t say anything about her, because this is a big spoiler).

Another fact from my fanfic (which I haven’t written there yet) although Daenys is the second princess, her uncle wanted to organize her engagement to Lance! (this is one of the reasons why she doesn’t like him, he also doesn’t treat Jestro very well). But Daenys was able to persuade her uncle not to do this, saying that she is the second princess and will not inherit the throne and all that.

I’ll also tell you a little about her dragon. When Daenys was 10 years old, a female dragon, Semergla, hatched from an egg. The dragoness has grown in 8 years, and now she is slightly larger than a horse, and Daenys was able to ride her only at the beginning of the plot. She has black scales on top and the lower part of her body is covered with golden scales, her horns and claws are black, her eyes are dark gold and the color of fire is also golden. (She, like Daenys, also doesn’t like Lance)

In this post I tried not to write all the information so as to avoid spoilers. I don’t know yet when I will translate my story into English. I was pleased to share with you information about my character and I will be glad if you want to know more about them. The Red Witch will be appearing in my fanfiction soon so maybe I'll post about her.

Chapter 1/?

(This is a story about the events of Clay's death from the perspective of Aaron)

"And we think it should be you."

His words felt like they were echoing in my head, me? The new leader? He can't be serious

"Hah! Nice one Clay. i know you're not gonna die. Merlock will find a spell, and it's going to be fine."

They both exchange a glance. They must be committed to the bit

"Aaron, i am afraid i can not find a spell in time."

"And that's why we're telling you this, if anything happens to me, i trust you to lead the team."

What kind of joke is this?

"Clay, you're not gonna die you- you're joking, right? Please tell me this is a joke."

He doesn't say a word

"Clay! This is a joke, right?!"

"I'm sorry, Aaron, but it's true Clay doesn't have much time left."

I must be dreaming

"But-"

This is just a nightmare

"But you-"

I grab both of his shoulders, trying to shake sense into him

"Clay, you can't die, We need you. I need you."

He's silent for what feels like the longest minute ever, then he finally says something

"I'm sorry, Aaron."

This can't be

This is Clay we're talking about he can't die,

right?

I can feel my eyes starting to tear up, and it looks like Clay noticed it too cause he took me in for a hug

"I know this is a lot to take in right now."

I can't find anything to say it's hard to find the right words when I'm holding back tears

Even Merlock doesn't say anything, the room is completely quiet before Clay breaks the silence

"Aaron, can i trust you to lead the team once I'm gone?"

I pull my face out of his shoulder to look at him

Being a leader? It's certainly something I haven't tried before, but am i really up for the job? I'm sure Macy would be a better leader, but Clay is asking me?

I don't wanna let him down, but I don't know anything about being a leader. I'm supposed to tell others what to do and schedule team training? That's what Clay does

He's been waiting for my answer long enough. i have to say something

Alright, no matter how hard being a leader might be, I'll have to try

For Clay

"Yes."

He gives me a slight smile

"And one more thing."

Merlock's voice surprised me. i forgot he was here

"Try not to bring this up to the others. The less they know, the better."

I just found out Clay is probably going to die, and he expects me to act like nothing happened?! Lance is the actor, not me!

Then again, he is right. i wouldn't want the rest of the team to find out either

"I'll do my best."

"Thank you, Aaron."

Merlock zaps away it's just me and Clay now

"Aaron, one last thing."

Clay gives me a quick kiss on the cheek

"I know you can do this. I believe in you."

He gets into his mech suit and gives me a smile before he leaves

Now it's just me alone in the room

I... I need to sit

Clay is going to die soon, I'll be the leader when that happens, and they want me to be quiet about this?

This is even more pressure than the Knights Academy

And to think that someone I've known this long is going to die soon...

I woke up hoping that it was just my imagination that Clay is fine and that i made it all up, but Clay took me aside and asked

"Still feeling down about last night?"

"Last night?"

"Um yeah? Last night?"

"Ooooh, that last night! The one that wasn't my imagination or a dream or a prank, yep, I'm totally chill about it."

"Are you... sure?"

"Yeah, dude, I've never been more sure about something in my life!"

Luckily for me, Clay has always been bad at telling when someone is lying

"Well, I'm glad you're feeling ok. i was getting worried that i might be putting a lot of pressure on you."

"Pressure? Please, this is nothing. I've been under more pressure when i was in the academy."

I'm probably digging myself into a hole

"In fact, I'm so chill if monsters attacked right now I'd easily beat them without stressing out."

Why am i still talking

"Sorry to interrupt you, lovebirds-"

Luckily, Lance is here to stop me from digging myself into an even deeper hole

"-but Jestro's monsters are attacking we need to go"

Ah shit i jinxed it

We're all on our way to Jestro's army now but it's ok i can do this so what if there's a lot of monsters i can easily defeat them it's not like they can outnumber me or anything i can definitely do this i can do it

I can do this. i can do this. i can do this

"Monsters attack!"

I can't do this!

Why is this happening! All these thoughts racing through my head are making it hard to focus and do these monsters ever end?

Every time i get rid of one ten more appear, how will i be a leader if i can't even hold my own in a fight

"Aaron, watch out!"

Before i can react, i am hit by an attack that knocks me off my shield

I try to quickly get up and hold back the incoming monsters, but then i realise that i don't have my bow

Damn it, it must have gotten lost when i fell. What do i do now

I am trying to find my bow and shield in a sea of monsters, but they're not gonna let me get away that easily

"AARON!"

Clay shields me from a monster that was about to hit

"What are you doing?"

"I can't find my shield and bow."

"Hey, isn't that your shield over there?"

Lance points at the ground, beneath the monsters is my shield

I go running trying to catch my shield before it slips away, but I'm not fast enough it keeps getting kicked around by monsters

While trying to get my shield, i hear Macy talking

"Merlock, we need a nexo scan."

No, not now. I'm still ruining after my shield like and I've yet to find my bow

I can hear the peeping of the nexo signal i am running out of time, and my shield is just within my reach if only i was quick enough

"Peep"

Come on, come on

"Peep"

Almost got it

"Peep"

There!

I grab my shield and raise it in the air just in time for a scan

I'm still without my bow, but at least i can defend myself now

I am now looking for my bow while the others are fighting the monsters

Sorry guys, I'll help once i find my bow

I see a yellow glow on the corner of my eye, could it be? It is my bow!

I go to grab my bow. Now it's time for a fight

"Alright, monsters, get ready for a-"

But as soon i turn around, i see Jestro and his monsters running away. The fight is already over, and all i did was run around like a fool

Axl puts a hand on my shoulder

"Where were you the whole fight? I didn't see you flying it's not like you to not fly around. "

"I uh i though i might try fighting on the ground for a change"

Axl can tell that it's a lie, but he doesn't care enough to ask more questions

Clay, however, is glancing at me

It's not a look of disappointment nor anger it's a look of concern he knows I'm panicking he doesn't say anything tho none of us does it's gonna be hard to convince him that I'm fine after this

I can't even sleep after what happened today

How did i even graduate? i must be the worst knight in all of Knighton

Why did Clay pick me when I'm that horrible he should've picked Macy she's a princess! if anyone knows anything about leadership, it's her

Now, Clay is going to die, and I'm going to fail him by being a horrible leader

Clay is counting on me. i can't give up

If Macy is a good leader, then I'll have to be a great leader. No, an amazing leader. I'll make Clay proud!

But where do i even start? How did Clay become so good at leading? He's always talking about training, battle formations, and the knights code

That's it! Books! There must be a book on leadership, right?

Hopefully, no one hears me trying to go on a midnight trip

I can imagine the look on their faces when i tell them I'm going to the library it's hilarious even i can't believe it. i haven't set foot in a library since the academy days

And now that I'm in a library once again, I'll have to say it's as boring as i remember

I hate this place it's always quiet, and the people here are killjoys. i gotta find a good book and leave as soon as possible

But which to choose? "Leadership 101"? "The leaders guide to success"? "How to be a great leader"?

All of them are so long, and none of them have pictures. Can i even finish reading a single one before Clay dies

What am i saying? Of course i can i have to!

I grab every leadership book i can find. I'm gonna need every bit of advice if i want to be the best

Turns out finishing books is as hard as i thought it was gonna be

it's been weeks, and I'm still not done with a single book

I thought reading a little of each book every night would make it faster, but i was wrong reading a single passage takes the whole night, and my lack of sleep is starting to show

The others will get suspicious

"Hey Aaron?"

Lance's voice made me jump

I've been zoning out. i haven't even noticed him

"You ok? you're acting strange."

"Strange? What do you mean strange? I wouldn't know anything about acting strange, nope, not me!"

"See? You didn't even make a single joke in this entire sentence!"

"Uh-"

"You're not joking, You're on edge all the time, and you don't even play games with me anymore!"

"I... I'm sorry, man, you know how it is with Jestro, and his monsters can't catch a break."

"Of course you can! There hasn't been a single attack all day."

"Now I'm forced to play with Axl, and he doesn't even know the rules."

"I told you your chaotic neutral thespian has to roll a red sided dice on that charisma check."

"Ugh, Aaron, tell him that i obviously have to roll a blue sided dice."

"Guys, guys, calm down. i don't know anything about chaotic lesbians or whatever. You know i haven't read the guide it's way too long."

"But this is the third edition we're playing it's shorter than fifth edition."

"Yeah, and it has simpler mechanics, mechanics that Axl clearly doesn't know."

"Hey!"

Lance wraps his arm around me and pulls me closer

"Aaron, you clearly don't know the beauty that is Kobolds and Castles. Maybe you should try it."

"It'd certainly be better than arguing with you about rules all the time."

"Hey! I'm right, and you know it!"

Saw some Brazilian Youtubers and one them make a small parody of "if I was Disney exe how I would do the Xman" and MAN...THEIR IDEAS WERE SO GOOOD.

Of course Disney wouldn't ever do half of those things.

But if I could direct the Xmen into the mcu.

I would deff make Kitty my protagonsit.

●She has to be openly Jewish and Bi(and no, enough of making her having queer moments with women she knows since they were kids)

●She is a young adult. 18-20 ish. She is a young genius and a co-worker jelly of her skyrocket sucess...somehow finds out Kitty is sctually a mutant and calls the right authority to take her out.

●Kitty meets the Xmen. She ends up going with them (she does mourn her old life and tries to navigate her new one)

(No Wolverine. And Scott is not here to be the butt of a joke. I saw this bc it is important to adress his role as leader and his relationship. I'm aboard for Scott being autistic and still being "slim")

●She befriends Ororo. Of course. She is in awe at her (we can have Storm giving a bit of her backstory and her role as leader #2 who may be in full use in the next movies....in my lalaland)

●She is afraid of Kurt. Oh bc he looks like a demon? That would be too wasy. I would go a different route. She is not much afraid of him, as she is wary as he is german. The conflict ends up as they sit down and talks and Kurt talks a bit about himself and his past ( He was raised by roma. I would ignore the whole "Amanda and Kurt dated" bc is wierd and goes nowhere and not a fan of his adopted family, roma, being shitty. They dont want to kill Kurt but they are in conflict bc "Steffan did bad stuff but he was our son/bro" which results o Amanda having a cold relationship with him. Ahe uses her magic to help others of her circle but has 0 intention of meeting Kurt)

●No Pheonix. But I'm ok with Hellfire club and Emma trying to poach Kitty...only to be rejected.

● She admires Jean, who is doing her best to help the students in the school.

● No kiotr.

● The first main villain wouldn't be magneto but rather the dude who made the sentinels. I could take a bit of Gods kill...KITTY DOESNT USED SLURS

● More representation on screen.

●Kitty joining the Xmen. Taking the fight as her but she has some reservations on Prof X (he would still do shaddy things as in the comics, but would have a saving grace that he does what he does for the best of his team)

● Kitty meets the Merlocks. Ororo is a badass. Kitty is saved and the Xmen menages to talk to them and reach an understanding, sort of.

● They destroy the sentinel. And we see how many goverments say no to.sentinels. which gives a small sense of victory for them.

● A post credit scene where Kitty while doing her parts with friends and such. Sees Jean acting strange and the woman asks for as in an urgent tone and she says "Genosha is in trouble" and ....the movie ends here.

Howzer: Let’s see. At midnight I think I was on my third bar of the evening. I don’t remember all that much. I think me and Griamore ended up in this club with a jacuzzi? But I might be imagining that. Anyway we ended up in Lincoln’s Inn Fields singing “Things Can Only Get Better” and had to run away from the cops.

Gilthunder: Howzer, you and Griamore are the cops!

Sherlock Holmes x Mercy Hudson Post Reichenbach Fall

"I know it's over, and it never really began, but in my heart it was real."

It's been a year since that day...the day the man that changed Mercy's life so drastically for the better died. It's even been months since John, her best friend and the only person who could possibly understand what she felt, distanced himself from her because of his own pain.

A click of a gun's safety was clicked off heard behind Mercy and her body stiffened.

"It's a shame...well for you, not me" the voice replied with a dark chuckle behind her. The barrel of the gun pressed to the back of her head.

"you wouldn't have been in this situation if your boyfriend was still alive...he probably would have figured all of this out before you were even put on this case...I guess it's true that the police don't even know how to function right and find a mole in their precinct without their consulting detective" the voice sneered.

Mercy felt her hand balled up in a fist as she was staring directly ahead of her.

No, she wouldn't have...Mercy would have been saved by Sherlock and John and the perpetrator would have been sorry for even pointing a gun at her head.

She can only hope Greg will look after Nan for her and John would be okay after this.

"Goodbye Detective Hudson" the voice once again replied.

'I'm sorry John...Sherloc-' Mercy internally said.

Chapter 4/?

(This a story about the events of Clay's death from Aaron's perspective)

"Clay, it's good to have you back"

It looks like Merlock's spell worked and Clay is normal again, still stone but at least he's not trying to kill us anymore

I have no idea what happened here but according to Lance Clay lost his memory and started calling himself "Calamity Clay" which is the funniest name I've ever heard I might start calling him that

The atmosphere finally feels lighter and even the people of Nothing Hill are happy, they're throwing a big celebration!

Oops I mean Stinkin' Rich And Happy Hill that's what they call it now, that's why there's a celebration! they're finally rich enough to buy their hill back

I know we went to the king's party not too long ago but I can't say no to parties, especially after all the crying we did last night

Besides we didn't have much fun at that party anyways, we can stay and enjoy the celebration a little

I don't even remember what I was worried about for the last few days, probably something stupid and not important

Everyone is smiling and laughing and eating uh whatever that thing is

I can even see Clay standing over there all happy, I should go talk to him haven't had the chance to in a while

"Yo wassup dude!"

"Aaron, hello!"

"How's my buddy 'Calamity Clay' doing"

"Oh gods Lance already told you didn't he"

"Yep and I'm never calling you anything else ever again"

"Great a new pet name"

"You got it Calamity dear"

I point finger guns at Clay and he giggles

I really missed his smile, I'm glad he's back

"So how were you doing when I was um you know dead? How did you manage leading the team?"

Oh right, that's what I was worried about

"Um, I was uh fine! Totally nailed it it was so easy"

"Oh great I struggled sometimes with leading the team and I was worried that it'd be the same for you"

"Pfft- you? Struggle? Yeah sure nice one Calamity"

"It's not a joke I'm serious being a leader is hard sometimes"

"Wait you're really serious? Like really actually for real?"

"Um yeah?"

I never knew Clay was capable of struggling at something

He always knew what to do I never even considered that he might feel like this

And he still did all of that while literally dying? man this guy's hardcore

But he should be able to take a break now that I'm leader right?

Or will he be leader again since he's back?

Should I ask him? But it'd look like I'm trying to dump my responsibility onto him I don't want Clay to think I can't handle leadership

Well, I can't but he doesn't need to know that!

Should I just assume that I'm still leader until he says otherwise?

Wait what if he decided to be leader again when he sees how much of an incompetent leader I am? That'd be even worse

I better change the subject before I start overthinking it

Back at the fortress everyone is smiling and telling Clay how good it is to have him back

I missed this the sound of laughter the others' liveliness and everyone finally not being miserable for once

But I don't know how long it'll last Jestro is still out there with his mysterious evil plan

What if we lose someone again there certainly won't be any laughter after that

Man, why can't I just enjoy the moment? Do I have to make everything depressing?

"Hey, Aaron we're going to take Clay on a joyride wanna join?"

"Huh? Oh, no thanks I'm feeling a little tired"

Oh no why is Clay making that expression

"Aaron, are you ok? You seem a little down?"

"He's probably sad he's gonna have to sleep in his own bed again"

I can feel my face going red

I walk away Before anyone says another word

How do they even know that stuff? I made sure to always sleep after everyone and get up before them do they get up in the middle of the night just to watch me sleep? What else do they know? I can't have privacy here anymore

I hope their joyride makes them forget this we finally got Clay back and then they embarrass me in front of him?

I thought we were friends! Not cool!

"Hey, Aaron!"

"Aaron wait I wanna talk"

I take a deep breath trying to stop my face from being so red

"Oh yeah? Great I love talking my favourite activity which I like to do often yup nothing better than talking"

"I'm sorry about the others they didn't mean to embarrass you I promise"

"I know I know I might be overreacting"

"Also I'm serious you can sleep in my bed if yo-"

"Get out of my face Calamity don't you have a joyride to get to??"

I turn around and head to my room

I'd love to go joyriding too but my head is too busy overthinking stuff

I stand in the kitchen as chef Éclair watches me in horror

I don't know why he's so scared for I just put the coffee powder in my mug filled it with water from the sink and put it in the microwave I haven't burned anything

As soon as the microwave dings Éclair hands me the mug and pushes me out of the kitchen

"Go! I never wanna see you step foot here again! I CAN'T STAND WATCHING YOU MASSACRE MY EQUIPMENT AND INGREDIENTS LIKE THAT!"

Ok dude chill what did I even do? Can't a man get some coffee?

After some more scolding from the chef I head to the main room where I find Ava typing at her keyboard like always

Does she ever get up from that chair? She basically lives there

"Hey Ay whatcha doing"

"Trying to track down Jestro until the others are back, speaking of which why aren't you with them?"

"Oh you know though I might sit this one out"

"And what's that?"

She says pointing at my cup

"Coffee"

"Did you put some vodka shots in it or something?"

"What? No? It's just regular coffee"

"Wow who even are you?"

"What do mean??"

"The Aaron I know would rather have an energy drink instead of boring ol' coffee"

Well, maybe I'm not in an energy drink move? Maybe we ran out of energy drinks have you thought about that? Maybe I wanna try new stuff, Ava!

"You know what? I'm not gonna try to argue with you"

"Suit yourself, fake Aaron"

I go sit on the floor resting my back on Merlock's stand I'm sure he doesn't mind

Ava goes back to her keyboard I know she's doing a lot of work we couldn't have gotten that far without her but it all looks so boring

I can see Ava's point now, me? Watching her do work instead of going on a joyride with the others? Maybe she's right maybe I am a fake Aaron

Ava and Merlock keep talking about stuff with the castle's system and his digital memory or whatever I can't be bothered to pay attention

Luckily Robin comes back from who knows where he was

Finally! these guys are boring

"Hey, Aaron! I thought you went with the others?"

"Nah I'm still here"

"Aaron's been sitting around doing nothing and he's even drinking plain coffee"

"Woah! Who even are you?"

"That's what I said tell us where the real Aaron is you faker!"

"Yeah, he's gonna kick your butt once we find him!"

"Haha real funny you guys"

Robin sits on the ground next to me

"But seriously what's gotten into you? You're strange"

"Yeah yeah even I can't believe it but I guess being a leader changes you"

"If being leader did that to you then what about Caly what was he like before he became leader"

"Actually he was always like that it's kinda a him thing rather than a leader thing"

Robin thinks a little while I take a sip of coffee

"Wait so if I become a leader someday I'm gonna start acting like Clay too?"

"What do you mean 'too'? I'm not acting like Clay"

"Clay drinks coffee"

"Will you stop it with the coffee thing!"

I can't take it I get up

"I'm going to my room and I don't wanna talk with anyone until tomorrow"

"Sorry if I made you mad!"

"You're fine Robin don't worry about it"

I thought coffee was supposed to give me energy not make me even more tired

At least my head isn't hurting anymore

Drinking that coffee was a bad idea

I can't sleep now but I'm still too tired to get up and do something

If I don't find anything to do soon I might start thinking and I hate it when I do that!

It's not helping that the bed feels weird

Lance was right I am sad about not sleeping in Clay's bed maybe if I pretend it is his I might get some shut-eye

I hear knocking on the door who's annoying me in the middle of the night??

"I don't wanna talk to anyone right now!"

The door opens

"Wow even me? That's cold Aaron"

"Oh it's you done with your 2 hours of sleep"

"As a matter of fact yes! but that's not the point I just wanted to check in on you"

"You got out of bed to make sure I'm fine? Awww Calamity babe you didn't have to"

He sits next to me, I'd sit up too but I don't think I have the energy too

"What did you do while we were out?"

"Oh nothing much just sat around"

He looks at the empty mug on the table

"What were you drinking I didn't know you liked... mug drinks?"

"I'd rather not talk about it... anyways what did you break?"

"I broke a house window"

"Woah cool! What did the owner say? Did they chase after you?"

"Well no it was an abandoned house"

"Laaaaame"

"Hey you only asked me to break stuff you didn't specify what kind of stuff"

"Yeah fair"

We're both silent as Clay runs his fingers through my hair

"Can't sleep?"

"Yeah it may or may not have to do with that mysterious 'mug drink' I had"

"Well I'm done sleeping for the night so you can sleep in my be-"

"Oh my gods Calamity stop talking about that!"

"Come on do you want me to tuck you in and sing you a lullaby?"

"Woooow I can't believe you'd do such a wonderful thing for me I'm reaaaally flattered yes Calamity tuck me in, sing me a lullaby and give me a kiss on the forehead please"

"Wait really?"

"Sarcasm, Calamity. Sarcasm"

"Oh"

Clay leans in and kisses my forehand

"Well even if that was sarcasm I'd still kiss you anyways"

Caly lays down next to me

"Well, would it make you feel better if I sleep with you?"

"And ruin your only 2 hours of sleep a day schedule? How could I!"

"Maybe I can make an exception for you"

Clay pulls me in for a hug

Hugging him feels so different now I mean yeah he's literally a rock but he moves around like normal I expected him to at least be a little warmer cause man I didn't know rocks were that cold

"Hey Clay?"

"Clay? Who's that I thought I was Calamity Caly now"

"Dude I'm trying to be serious right now"

"Heh ok ok what were you gonna say?"

"Maybe I wasn't so fine while you were gone"

"You don't say"

"Look I didn't wanna disappoint you so I said I was ok"

"Why would you ever disappoint me?"

"Clay I'm a horrible leader I couldn't even save a little town"

"Come on Aaron Macy told me about what happened in the castle you saved way more than that"

"But then I failed to save a single tiny town!"

I hide my face in his shoulder

"Clay I'm not the fearless knight you think I am"

"Aaron I didn't ask you to do this because you're fearless I asked you because you knew how to face those fears I know you have fears too in fact I know what's your biggest fear"

"Wait what? Really?:

"You're afraid of doing nothing"

"Am I?"

"Remember that time Jestro used our fears against us?"

"Yeah"

"After that Ava told us to stay still while she reboots the system and you ran off screaming"

"Oh must've blocked it out of my memory"

"I know you were a good leader Aaron the others told me all about it"

Maybe I should ask him now

"Clay?"

"Hm?"

"Now that you're back are you gonna be leader again?"

Clay is quiet was it a bad idea to ask?

"I don't think I can Jestro still thinks I'm on his side if I lead the team he'll know I'm not"

"Oh yeah makes sense"

"I'm gonna ask you to push through a little longer maybe until Jestro catches onto us"

"So what're you gonna do? Just keep hiding? He's probably looking for you right now"

"You know I think I might have a plan"
