Office Secrets
Luke Cooper x f!reader
TW: smut, p in v, unprotected, fingering… lmk if there’s anything else lol
Word count: 1526
Friendly note, I wrote this all in one day so it’s probably not the best but I’ve been so obsessed w Evan lately I just needed to write lol Enjoy!!!
~~~
“So, who wants to bet the two newbies are doing it?” Meredith says as she puts coins into one of the vending machines.
“They so are,” Kevin says. “Have you seen the way they look at each other it’s like- Pam and Jim.”
“Hey!”
Angela shakes her head. “You people are disgusting… but I wouldn’t doubt it. I’ve seen them flirting on multiple occasions.”
“This is all circumstantial, it doesn’t mean they’re sleeping together,” Oscar argues.
“I would bet they are,” Phillas says with a laugh. “I mean I remember how fun it was being all secret with Bob, it’s so thrilling.”
Pam glances at you in the annex, Luke’s leaning back on your desk, smiling as you two talk. She looks back to the group and shrugs. “It’s possible they are.”
~~~
“Hey y/n, do you think you could make some copies for me?” Pam asks as you’re walking by.
“Yeah of course, double or single sided?” You reply with a smile.
“Double please.” She hands you the original.
You walk to the copier, but as you’re about to open it, Luke slips in front of you.
“Luke I was about to make copies,” you say, annoyed.
“So do I, you aren’t the only person in the office who needs to get stuff done,” he laughs.
“Since when have you ever had things to get done? You’re the laziest person here.”
“That’s hostile,” he replies, turning around to give you a smirk. “I might have to report you to HR.”
“Just please hurry up,” you mumble.
“Anything for you babe.” He winks.
You turn to the camera and stare, almost at your limit with this boy.
~~~
“I just don’t understand men sometimes it’s like, he’s so different when we’re alone yet in public he wants to be the biggest ass ever,” you rant to the camera, you’re in the hallway near the elevator where no one will hear you. “Sometimes I just want to knee him in the balls and get on with my day.”
“If he’s so annoying why do you sleep with him?”
You frown. “He’s really good at that stuff, most assholes are honestly.”
~~~
You’re at the vending machine getting a snack when you feel arms snake around your waist. You quickly turn around and push him away.
“Luke stop it we can’t be doing this here,” you whisper.
He looks out the windows then back at you. “Nobody’s around, come on just one kiss. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you since last night baby.”
You and Luke were hired about three weeks ago now, both just interns to help out with the little things around the office. At first you thought Luke was an idiot slack off, but after a week of him constantly flirting with you, you decided he wasn’t that bad of a guy and of course he’s gorgeous. And, after one night where he gave you a ride home this simple work crush turned into casual sex.
You made Luke promise to keep it a secret, you didn’t want anyone at the office to think your personal life would interfere with you doing your job. So, far you don’t think anyone has figured it out, and your glad.
“Don’t talk like that here,” you say, giving him a slight glare. “We made a deal.”
“Yeah, yeah.”
“I’m serious Luke, imagine if Michael found out. He’d make it a whole thing.”
“It probably already is a thing, Jim and Pams was.”
You scoff at him. “Okay, that doesn’t mean this has to be.”
“Whatever,” he says as he begins to walk away. “See you later.”
You give an annoyed look to the camera and shake your head before returning to your previous activity.
~~~
“Listen, y/n is a good girl I guess, I just wish she’d stop acting like the office finding out about our thing is the worst possibility imaginable,” Luke tells the crew outside the break room.
“What do you think would happen if they found out?”
“I don’t know, they’d give us weird looks. It doesn’t really matter it’s not like me and her are gonna be working here forever. At least I know I’m not, not sure what her life plans are.”
~~~
You stare at the clock and sigh, still a whole nother hour left at the office. This whole day has been terrible, mostly due to Luke. You don’t understand why he’s acting so annoying today. Usually he’s decent toward you, probably because of what he wants from you the second work ends. You turn back to your desk and start to organize papers, deciding Luke isn’t important.
A few have passed when Luke appears beside you. He leans back on your desk, one of his hands gripping the edge. You try to ignore him, keeping your attention on the stack of paper you’ve been messing with. Luke doesn’t let you ignore him forever though.
“Can you come with me somewhere where we can speak privately… away from the cameras.”
You look up at him. Is this it? Is he really going to break it off at work? You can’t believe it. You want to give him a piece of your mind, so you slightly nod and get up, following him out of the annex and down the hall to one of the stock rooms. You’re ready to start giving it to him but before you can he smashes his lips on yours.
At first, you’re caught off guard, he’s never kissed you at work before. You don’t hesitate to kiss him back however. He backs you up till the back of your legs hit a spare desk. You let him guide you onto it, your kiss turning into something more.
He bites down on your lip, his hands roaming up and down the sides of your body. You have to admit, you’d been craving this too. Even though you saw each other last night. Luke was the best you’d ever had, how were you supposed to not want him again? Even though he’s been annoying you all day you can’t help but melt into the palm of his hand, he’s just so damn attractive.
“Luke, we can’t do this at work,” you whisper, the sensible part of you taking over.
“Nobody will know, come on baby, I’ve been thinking of you all day. I need you,” he replies.
Your stomach fills with butterflies at his words. He knows exactly how to persuade you. You fall back on the desk as he kisses down your neck, Your legs wrap around his waist, he makes you feel so good. He brings his lips back up to yours as one of his hands starts to slip up your skirt and under your panties.
He starts to rub small circles on your clit; you to moan into his mouth. He smirks against your mouth. You wrap your arms around his neck and pull him closer, you love the feeling of his body against yours. It’s the best you’ve ever felt.
“You’re already so wet baby,” he mumbles on your lips.
“Luke,” you moan.
“Do you want it baby?”
You nod, moving one of your hands down to rub the bulge in his pants. He grins at you and removes his fingers, beginning to undo his belt and fly. In seconds you feel his tip brushing against your entrance. He leans back over you as he begins to slowly thrust inside of you. You bite down on your lip and close your eyes, the familiar feeling of him filling you taking over.
You throw your head back as he starts fucking you. The sound of the desk hitting the wall doesn’t even register in your head. You’re too engulfed in how good Luke’s dick feels inside you, hitting that special spot that makes your legs shake. His head rests in the crook of your neck, he’s moaning and whispering all the dirty things he wants to do to you. It’s all too good to be true.
Eventually though, you feel that tightening in your stomach, your orgasm approching. Luke must realize this because he doesn’t stop his violent thrusts for even a second. You hold on to him tightly, biting down on his clothed shoulder as you finally cum. He finishes with you, pushing himself so far inside you he’s hitting your cervix.
He lays on you for a few seconds before pulling himself up enough to look down at you. His chest is still heaving as he speaks in a soft voice, “I really like you y/n.”
“I really like you too Luke,” you say with a weak smile.
Both of you get yourselves decent fast, you’ve been away for at least fifteen minutes by now. You give Luke one last kiss before exiting the small room alone, he promised to wait a minute or too before following.
As you sit at your desk and resume your previous activities, Luke walks by you, sending a quick wink before disappearing into the main office. You give a small stare into one of the cameras, your face turning bright red. This was only the beginning.

Your Heart Pulling Against Mine
David 8 x Reader Words: 739 Cross posted on Ao3
Neither of you really knew how you ended up like this, but there you were, lying on your bed with your head resting on David’s lap, gazing up at him. His posture was too straight and stiff to seem comfortable, but considering he had only a small room with a chair, this must have been much cozier, even for an Android.
The silence between you was only interrupted by the faint sound of an old movie playing in the background, one of your childhood favorites.
It was the movie’s soundtrack that had drawn him here in the first place.
While on his security tour of the ship, he’d heard that you were still awake, and curiosity had gotten the better of him. Too curious to ignore you, too curious about you.
He knocked. You let him in. He asked if there was anything he could do to help you sleep, and a few minutes later, you had ended up like this - wrapped in your blanket, your head resting on his thighs.
What a strange situation.
His silver eyes met yours as you both studied each other, trying to understand one another. He was the first to speak.
"Miss, are you sure you're comfortable like this?"
But what he really meant was, ‘Why are you comfortable with me?’
He wasn’t used to humans wanting him close, wanting to touch him.
You nodded, offering a small smile.
"I’m sure, David. But are you comfortable? You don’t have to stay here if you don’t want to."
He reacted quickly, not wanting to lose this moment of contact. He nodded a bit too eagerly.
"Yes, this is perfectly fine, Miss."
The minutes passed. You turned your attention back to the screen, watching a plot you knew word for word unfold. David, on the other hand, barely noticed the movie. He was fixated on you, many thoughts running through his system.
Why were you so relaxed with him? Why had you not sent him away? The rest of the crew was distant, some even rude, but here you were, lying with your head on his legs, treating him as if he were another human.
He didn’t dare to move, afraid that any sudden action might break the moment, that you’d change your mind.
His father sometimes touched his shoulder, patting him as if he really was seeing him as his son.
Meredith only grabbed his clothes to threaten him, avoiding his body as if it was filth.
"David, I can feel you staring a hole into my skull," you muttered, turning your head to face him. His gaze was indeed fixed on you.
"Why?" was his simple question, making you furrow your brows.
"Why what?" You did not know about his inner conflict.
"You treat me as though you like to be around me."
That made you sit up, the one thing he didn’t want to happen. But he kept his hands still by his side, unwilling to overstep. What he didn’t expect was your hand gently cupping his cheek.
Your hand lingered there, your thumb brushing lightly over his artificial skin. It was colder than yours but felt just as real.
"That's because I do like being around you, David. Hey, I know how Holloway is, but don’t listen to his bullshit. It’s just not worth it. I don’t know what Elizabeth sees in him."
Carefully, slowly, he leaned into your warm hand, closing his eyes for a moment to just feel you. Feel your warmth, your smoothness, your kindness.
And with that realization, something inside you broke. A soft 'Oh' escaped your lips as you gently cradled his face with both hands.
You could have sworn there was a flicker of pain in his eyes when they met yours. To you, he was as much of a person as anyone on this ship, even if no one else seemed to see him that way.
"If you want to, you can stay with me. My bed’s big enough for two, and I don’t mind."
He agreed.
This time he lay down with you, sinking into the soft mattress.
Even though he didn’t need the blanket you draped over the both of you, he appreciated the thoughtfulness. Appreciated the gentle intimacy as you snuggled up to him, letting him hold you in his arms. It was the first time in months that he allowed his body to slip into standby mode.
He felt

"...while these [corporate re-education] programs have shown evidence of marginal positive effects (Meredithe et al.) and continue to be employed (Kine-Veck), they ultimately run into the same limitations as A.I. on interstellar hauls infallibly loyal to those possessing their security codes. That is, once outside effective communication distance companies cannot rely on any positive reinforcement. For this reason, it has been suggested that re-education instead focus on loyalty to the rest of the crew, rather than loyalty to the company." - A Proposal for Use of Romantic/Sexual Re-education on Interstellar Haul Crews, Delivered to the Board of VeckQwenZemco on New Armstrong, Mars, 2998 CE. *** The divorce come down and turn around was brutal. One moment your brain and biochemistry and hormones, all carefully wired by the re-education modules, make you fully believe that you have long been in a deep, committed, passionate relationship with the six to eight other people on the haul. You look at them and even though you know you'll only spend a few weeks of subjective time with them, maybe a month or two on a longer job, only a brief window out of cryo and not lagged by relativity, even though you know what you gave the company your written consent to do, your brain still loves them. Then you pull into orbit over Eridiani, or Luna, or wherever, you probably bang one last time, say your tearful goodbyes, and spend the next few weeks crying like you just lost the love of your life as the chemicals wash out and the deprogramming modules hit. The moment is over. But time spent on a company station meant time wracking up debt for oxygen, water, food. So, still on the come down, Reade looked for a course, signed the wavers, gave her consent, grabbed the meager belongings that had gotten her through seven of these hauls, now dating from over forty years ago given the time lost to cryo and near-light travel. File down to concourse-E. Begin again. "Here for the haul?" the skinny low-g kid of her in the line said. "Um, VeckGreenQwenZemco 3043-28897?" Reade sized them up. New kid. First haul. She could smell it on them. In a few hours she'd probably love them and have her brain inventing all sorts of bullshit justifications for the neurochemical feelings the company would induce in her in order to improve team cohesion and morale trillions of miles away from anyone else. In a few hours she'd love them for their optimism, their smile, their cheery attitude and all the questions. But not yet. Right now, still awash in the last break up, Reade savored the simple joy of being a miserable bitch. "Kid," she said, with a malicious grin, "you're gonna love me in a bit. But you're still gonna remember this so I want you to get a good earful of it before the re-education. I'm fucking hate you and hate that I have to do this and if I could I'd throw you out a fucking airlock." She pulled her headphones on and cranked the volume. It hurt, in her chest, and the least she could do was make someone else hurt with her. That freedom, at least, she had for a few more minutes.

They can't edit all of us, can they?
Peme stood at her full height, just a touch over two meters. She knew that the humans thought that she loomed and tried not to. Now though? She felt some looming was necessary.
"You want us to do what?"
"I want everyone onboard to watch Eva fix the FlashWarp engines. She's going to be narrating what she's doing to everyone so we all have to pay attention and listen the whole time."
Peme's lacquered claws, painted a stunning purple, slid in and our of their sheaths. She was used to the humans being odd, but this was something else. "Humans are forbidden from touching FlashWarp engines, everyone knows this."
"Yes, but do you know why?" Peme didn't know this human. She was pretty sure she was just a passenger, sent along to guard some kind of special cargo. She didn't appreciate being spoken to like this. Her fur started to bristle.
"We do not need to know why. Flash Incorporated sent out the memo stating that no humans are to even touch FlashWarp engines on pain of losing the license to operate them. No captain wishes to risk losing their livelihood over some humans who want to tinker." She leaned over, deliberately trying to tower over her. "Who are you anyway?"
Peme found that most humans tended to shrink back, at least a little, when she stood to her full height and figuratively threw her weight around. Her race was as tall as the Gren, but had been friendly with humans ever since they entered Coalition space. This human was unfazed by her body language. For some reason that worried Peme more.
"I am Agent Meredith Calvin, Human InterDimensional Authority, and I am declaring an emergency."
Peme laughed. She couldn't help it. She had never heard of the Human InterDimensional Authority. "You? Are declaring an emergency? The engines have failed and we're going to be late to our destination. It's not anything world ending. Besides, I'm captain here. I declare emergencies."
"I apologize Captain, but you are no longer in charge." She handed Peme a card that flashed a holo with her face, some minor biometric information and the name of her organization. When her eyes reached the bottom a note told her to flip the card. When she did a completely different holo flashed, this time from Coalition Authority. It stated in no uncertain terms that if Agent Calvin provided this card, she was declaring herself in charge of whatever vessel, organization or operation was underway and would be obeyed until such time as she relinquished control. It was signed with the biometric signature of all ten Coalition Authority Members. Six signatures were all that were necessary to pass new regulations.
Peme know the old joke that all ten Authority Members couldn't even agree what to have for lunch, let alone pass laws unanimously.
Unconsciously, she took a step back from Agent Calvin. She held the card with two claws, as if it would burn her. The humans expression did not change. "Call the crew. Everyone needs to watch Eva repair the drive." Agent Calvin spun on her heel and walked out of the Command Deck. When she reached the door she stopped. "I mean it, Captain. Everyone. I will be conducing a census when they arrive. All stations are to be abandoned, else this will not work."
It took a demicycle for Peme to round everyone up and explain what was going on. She had to explain at least five times that Agent Calvin was in charge by direct order of the Coalition Authority and she had no idea what was going on either. Finally, everyone was squeezed into engineering. There were thirty of them, with almost all of the Coalition sapient species represented. Eva looked on nervously. "Meredith, are you sure this is the only way? I don't like having such an audience."
Agent Calvin smiled gently. "I'm not a fan of it either, but it was the only thing I can think of. I really don't know what will happen, but if we don't try something we all will die for sure." She turned and addressed the crowd. "I apologize for throwing my weight around and leveraging my authority with the Coalition, but I truly believe we are in a life and death situation, otherwise I would not have done it. Everyone here knows about the prohibition on humans touching the FlashWarp engines, correct?"
Nods and sounds of agreement from the assembled crew.
"The reason for that is Secret. However, given these circumstances, I am willing to share the bare details. When a human works on a FlashWarp drive, and that drive is activated, they become edited out of this timeline. Not only do they cease to exist, but the timeline is... edited such that they died cycles earlier. We only know this because the last person to speak to that human remembers them."
There is a rise of confused mutterings from the crowd.
"You don't have to believe me. In fact, it might be easier for you if you think I'm lying." She cast her eyes around the room. Everyone was watching her. "However. While Eva repairs the drive, you all must be watching, paying attention and listening to Eva. She will narrate what she is doing. You don't have to understand the details of FlashWarp theory, you only have to listen."
From the rear, a feathered sapient raises an arm-wing. "But why?"
Agent Calvin smiles. "That's a good question. I am hoping that if we're all watching and listening to her while she works, that when the drive is activated, she won't be edited out of this timeline. Kind of a 'they can't take all of us' kind of thing. If we're all the last ones to speak with her, then maybe we can keep her in this timeline." She turned to Eva. "Okay Eva, please begin."
Eva sighed and turned towards the stricken engine. "Okay... so I think that what is wrong is the inner compensator has developed buildup as a result of...."
Over the next two demicycles Eva narrated her repair of the engines. She detailed the diagnosis, disassembly, repair and reassembly of the engines. Agent Calvin walked around the cramped room while she worked, making sure everyone was paying attention. People would ask questions as she worked and Eva wound up giving a lecture of the ins and outs of FlashWarp technology.
Eva secured the last panel. "Okay, it's fixed." She turned to Agent Calvin. "Now what, Meredith?"
Meredith stood on a chair and addressed everyone again. "Eva has finished, but nobody is to leave yet. Just as a precaution, I have locked the doors."
The crowd began to shuffle and make nervous noises.
"I apologize, but it is a necessary step. We are now at the most precarious part of this experiment." Meredith looked down at her pad and checked some settings. "Captain, will you please come here and verify our destination?"
Peme lumbered over and looked at the human's pad. "Yes, that is where we were going. How did you-"
Meredith looked up and put her index finger to her lips. "Some things are still classified Captain. I can control the ship from here, but only during emergencies." She turned to Eva. "Okay Eva, please address the crowd."
Eva looked up, her eyes wide. "What? What do I say?"
Meredith shrugged. "Anything really. But everyone has to hear it. You have to be talking to everyone."
"Uh" Eva looked at the crew. "Thank you for watching me work. I was a little nervous at first, but I liked explaining what I was doing as I was doing it. I think it helped with my troubleshooting process."
Without saying anything, Meredith activated the FlashWarp drive.
Around the drive grew the prismatic field. Completely surrounding the drive in a beautiful light, it gave off a slight hum. Everyone watched, mesmerized. Most had never seen a FlashWarp drive activate. Peme and Meredith watched Eva. After a demicycle, the prismatic field faded and the engine shut down.
"Is everyone still here?" Meredith looked around. Noises of confusion and assent came from everyone. She looked over at Eva who shrugged.
"I'm still here."
Peme let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. "So it worked then?"
Meredith grinned wickedly. "It appears so. Come, let us go to the Command Deck and see where we are. Eva, please accompany us. You should get to see your handiwork firsthand."
Peme, Meredith and Eva made their way to the Command Deck. It was empty while they had warped, but as Peme opened the door, there was a prismatic flash.
Sitting in the command chair - lounging really - was a being. They didn't look like anyone that Peme recognized. They had bilateral symmetry two legs, two arms and a head, but that was all she could make out. The rest of their details were hidden by the blinding prismatic FlashWarp field surrounding them. They stood and put their arms on their hips, akimbo. "Ugh. Humans. Always looking for the loophole, aren't you? I'm sure you feel incredibly smug about this whole thing, don't you?"
Meredith crossed her own arms across her chest. "It worked, didn't it. Eva fixed the drive, and your stupid copy protection wasn't able to edit her out."
"That feature exists for a reason, human. We cannot have you reverse engineering our drives that we graciously licensed to the Coalition. We didn't even have to do it you know. We could have let them develop FTL on their own. You have your Flip drive after all." They sounded bitter as they spoke. Peme wondered how she was able to understand them. The being didn't seem to be wearing a translator, yet she was speaking Peme's birth language.
"So you expected us to die awaiting rescue instead of trying to save ourselves?" Meredith took a step towards the being. "No. I will not be the cause of pointless deaths."
It surprised Peme how much nuance they were putting into their body language, being that she could only see their outline. It was clear they were annoyed. "And whose fault it that Agent Calvin of the Human InterDimensional Authority? Who decided that this run was going to go without a filed transit plan, so nobody knew you were out here?"
Peme snapped her head over to Meredith. She did not know that. "What do they mean, Agent Calvin?" Her voice rumbled from deep within her furry chest.
Meredith glanced back at Peme and smiled apologetically. "Sorry. I purged your transit plan after you had completed it, but before you sent it. The cargo required it."
"So that's why you were willing to risk all of us to repair the drive. You knew that nobody would know we're missing and we would have starved to death thinking rescue was about to come."
"Sorry Peme."
"Address me as Captain, Agent Calvin."
"Yes, Captain. However. The emergency has not passed. I am still in command."
Peme seethed. The worst part was, it was clear Agent Calvin knew something like this was going to happen and was prepared to speak to whoever this was. She turned to the being and snapped. "So what now?"
The being turned to Peme, surprised. "Oh, so you can speak? Finally someone from HIDA has gotten you so angry that you remember you are a sapient race with your own wants, needs, and desires? This human here-" they point at Meredith "-found a loophole in our license agreement and enabled unauthorized repairs to be made on a FlashWarp engine to enable the transport of their secret cargo. As for now? Now I will leave and you will continue your journey. But!" They flared bright and their voice became loud and booming. "If you violate the terms of the license agreement again, your FlashWarp licenses will be stricken, and you will no longer be authorized operators of FlashWarp technology. The Coalition will lose their FTL drive they cherish so much."
The being disappeared just as if they had Flashed away. In the silence after, Peme blinked. The Coalition was licensing FlashWarp technology from someone?
Meredith nodded and turned. "Come on Eva, let's let the Captain do her job." She looked over her shoulder at Peme. "I declare the emergency over, command is returned to you, Captain."
"Wait-" Peme swallowed her anger. Her curiosity overrode it, if only a tiny amount. "What did that being mean by losing our license? Who were they? We didn't invent FlashWarp technology?"
Meredith's face softened. "I know you have just seen... a lot. But, I am not at liberty to explain them. You honestly shouldn't have seen any of that. That reminds, me, do not mention any of this to the crew. But-" She handed Peme another card "-if you really want to learn more, look us up. We have been expanding and could use more people. It looks like HIDA isn't just for humans anymore."

Gravity Falls Revival Prospects Teased by Disney TV Boss (Exclusive)
By Russ Milheim Posted: June 05, 2024
(From "The Direct", original article linked above.) While Gravity Falls may have ended in 2014 on the Disney Channel, fans are still hoping for a revival—thankfully, that doesn't look too far out of reach, at least according to an update from a top Disney executive. The series may have ended in 2014, but since then, creator Alex Hirsch has published several books in the universe. This included Gravity Falls: Tales of the Strange and Unexplained, Lost Legends, and Journal 3. In fact, another book is even coming out later this year, called The Book of Bill, which tells the story of the show from the perspective of the big bad. However, while books are great and all, a continuation of the show would absolutely thrill the franchise’s fanbase. In an exclusive interview with The Direct’s Russ Milheim while promoting the release of Big City Greens the Movie: Spacecation, Executive Vice President of Television Animation and Disney Branded Television Meredith Roberts gave a hopeful update on a possible Gravity Falls revival. She confirmed that they’re “in conversations with [creator] Alex [Hirsch]” before ending with an encouraging “never say never:” “You know, we're in conversations with Alex. He's about to publish a book with Disney on his project. And we also do some shorts. So never say never.”
What Could Be Next for Gravity Falls? While the update is a small one, plenty of fans will be thrilled to see even a slight glimmer of home. Sure, the new book releases are exciting, but not nearly as much as having the show back. If the show were to return, creator Alex Hirsch would likely want to introduce a new threat other than Bill. Admittedly, that's a high bar to clear. Perhaps a continuation would also age its leading characters, Dipper and Mabel. However, having older leads could transform Gravity Falls into a much different, more adult-based narrative. Either way, there's plenty of demand from fans to see the world of Gravity Falls again. Hopefully, that's something Disney can capitalize on sooner rather than later.
Since this is going around, and I haven't seen it posted here... well, here you go. What does it mean? Nobody knows! It may not mean anything. It's hard to tell whether this is just a Disney exec making noises for promotional purposes or what. I honestly would take this with a grain of salt until or unless Alex himself posts or tweets about it.
(My own thoughts: to be worthwhile, I strongly feel that any new Gravity Falls content would need to have the involvement of Alex Hirsch AND a good chunk of the other folks who worked on the show. People like Rob Renzetti, and others like Matt Braly, Alonso Ramirez Ramos, Emmy Ciceriega, Dana Terrace, Matt Chapman, Jeff Rowe, etc. etc. It would probably be difficult to impossible to get everyone back, unless it was for a very limited project, like a TV-movie or something.
I'm not saying they would ALL need to be back, and I do also think you could find some new folks to work on the project who would be very good replacements for some of the original crew who might not be able to come back. But, I've said many, many times: Gravity Falls was not the work of only one man. I respect the hell out of Alex Hirsch, but, the show that we love had contributions from a lot of other people that went into creating the final product. If what we want is something as good as the original show, then I think it would need input from those people.
And even then, we still have to keep in mind that it can be difficult to recapture lightning in a bottle. Even if they got back a majority of the original team, it's 10 years later (ish), and all of those folks have been through a lot, and most haven't been working with each other. There's a groove that the crew of the show got into at the time, and they'd have to recapture that groove. It would be different in at least SOME ways. Maybe a GOOD different! A lot would depend on the enthusiasm they had for doing it.)
So, we'll see! Keep an eye out, though, for more news.

I want to figure out how old Elias Bouchard really is. When was he born?
In MAG 49 it’s said he joined the institute in 1991 and became head of the institute in 1996 after being body snatched by Jonah Magnus.
In MAG 192 Rosie says that “he seemed far too young for the role he had apparently found himself in” - referring to the head of the institute position.
How young is too young for a head of an institution position? Here’s a first not *exactly* evidence-based assumption - but let’s say it’s probably being below 40 years old. That is based solely on the experience of attending university, I’d say most institute heads at uni are at minimum 40 (also, not exactly related but all university institute heads have PhD’s). (I don’t want to get into too many details here, since I’m not a 100% sure how the higher education system works in the UK, but in my country at least, one must have at least a Habilitation, which is almost like a second PhD, or be a capital “P” Professor, which is the highest university rank, to become an institute head. To achieve these scientific titles, it usually takes a lot of time, so most people are over 40 when they get the position. Or even 50, when it comes to the Professor rank).
One can assume then, that “Elias” is below 40-ish while he interviews Rosie. Unfortunately, we don’t know when exactly that happens. It could be anytime between 1996 and 2015.
Some other information we do know about him is that he’s graduated collage with third class honours and has a PPE degree. According to google, students in the UK typically start university at the age of 18. Also, according to google, Oxford has never had a postgraduate degree course in PPE, so Elias has a bachelor’s degree in PPE (which btw stands for Philosophy, Politics and Economics), meaning he was either 21 or 22 when he finished uni. We do not hear anyone mention him finishing any other courses, so we can assume that’s all that he studied.
Another thing we don’t know is at what age he started working for the Magnus Institute. We do know it happened in 1991. The earliest he could have been recruited was at the age of 21 or 22, straight out of university. Making him 26/27 at the time he “got promoted” to the position of institute head, in 1996. As mentioned previously, at Rosie’s interview, where she found that he looked too young for his position, in between 1996 and 2015 (whenever that interview took place) he would’ve been between 26 and 45 years old (at the youngest) depending on the year the interview took place in. Taking my assumption from before, that during the interview he’d be 40 or lower, I’d assume that the interview probably took place anytime between 1996 and 2010 for the comment of him looking too young in his position to make sense. Of course, it could’ve been a few years after graduating uni when he got recruited, which would further push down the date of the Rosie interview. I think the oldest he could possibly be is in his late thirties during it. So, the eldest he could be in 1996, if that is when the interview took place, would be around 40 years old (which I also don’t think it did take place in 1996 since it would make Rosie work as his assistant for 20 years and I’m not certain that she could remain that oblivious to all the weird stuff going on for that long. But what do I know, maybe she’s got a gift for not noticing. I don’t know for sure).
So, in the year of his body being overtaken by Jonah Magnus, 1996, he’s between the ages of 26 and 40.
We, the listeners, know him mostly from our time spent with him and the archives crew from 2015 onwards. Based on our established age range, in 2015 he would’ve been anywhere between 45 and 59 years old. Which would mean that last time we hear him speak is in 2018 in which he’s anywhere between 48 and 62 years old.
I don’t know how old his va, Ben Meredith is exactly. I’m pretty sure he’s a millennial? Either way it doesn’t really matter how old his va is, though all we have to picture him by is his voice only, which at least in my opinion doesn’t really sound like the voice of a 62-year-old, but that is straight up just a subjective opinion. Maybe he’s a particularly young sounding 62-year-old?
Some additional information we supposedly get about “Elias” is that he was working as a filing clerk in 1972, which he says to Jonathan Sims in MAG 29, but that contradicts with the information gathered later by Jon and revealed in MAG 49 where he says that Elias joined the institute in 1991. All this might seem like just the lies of Jonah Magnus, but it presents an interesting point of having a conversation take place in 2016 with the reference to his being an institute employee in 1972. In 2016 he’s between the ages of 46 (which would make him 2 years old in 1972) and 60 (which would make him 16 in 1972), neither of which make sense, thought one would think that if he’s older and Jon doesn’t know how old he is exactly, it wouldn’t be that suspicious for him to have worked at the institute in 1972, though that seems like a stretch. Perhaps Jon just didn’t question or notice how it doesn’t really make sense for him to have worked there in that year, or maybe the writing-story-planning team didn’t put that much thought into this particular interaction/the implications of it, or maybe Elias looks older than he is.
In conclusion, Elias Bouchard was born between the years of 1956 and 1970.
Also, fun fact I did a poll to see what age Tumblr users thought Elias was and they picked between 40 to 50, with 45 to 55 being a close second, so if anyone voted in that and picked anywhere between 45 and 59, I just want to let you know you’re right.
TLDR: Elias Bouchard is (most likely) anywhere between 45 and 59 at the start of the Magnus Archives.
#the magnus archives#tma#elias bouchard#original elias bouchard#also all that is to say he's anywhere between 54 and 68 in 2014#do with that what you will#but I find it interesting for figuring out how he could possibly be related to Gwen Bouchard#because they have to be related#right?#how old could Gwen be then?? I mean we're all assuming she's in her late twenties/early thirties#I think#since the archives crew was in their late twenties/early thirties#so a 30 year old-ish Gwen could somehow be related to a 54-68 year old Elias#and what does it mean for their possible relation?#idk#I need more fanfics though

Carlos Sainz x Celebrity OC Mer&Der trope… Part 1.
For all those who’s seen Greys Anatomy you’ll know exactly how Meredith& Derek got together and that’s gonna be the trope for this story. If you haven’t seen Greys then it’s fine, but OC is a celebrity hired as a reporter during the Grands Prix of 2021. Anyway, I won’t spoil anything further…
AN- I tried to use the name Molly Ashley as the OC name but because I’m so used to writing OC as Jenny or Jennifer that I kept slipping up so just stuck to that, but altered it to Jenna just to switch it up, so if there’s any errors that’s why!!! (Was going to use Belle my real name but it kinda made me cringe). warnings - mentions of sex, maybe a slow start, nothing too graphic… yet. Excuse my lack of F1 knowledge I’m trying my best lmao
“Ahh there she is!” Ted Kravitz, the infamous F1 grid walk reporter exclaimed, grinning as I hurried in, panting desperately as I scurried into the room. “Sorry, I had to run!” I placed both hands on my knees, holding the papers I’d sprinted back to my hotel room to gather before making it back here in a record time of six minutes. I’d run for six minutes flat- and I hadn’t run a singular meter since secondary school. 20 year old me was aging bad.
“Almost beat a world record there!” Oh my god, Jenson fucking Button was stood right in front of me and I was practically wheezing for air. Not to mention I was violently hungover from last nights party. Sky reporters and the crew went a lot harder than I ever could have imagined…
“Hello! Sorry, I’m so out of breath.” I stood up straighter, shaking his hand as I handed over the papers to once of the producers who needed them. “It’s lovely to meet you! I’m Jensen” He laughed as I attempted to laugh back, but it just came out as a breathless wheeze. “I’m Jenna!” I managed to speak as he smiled, patting my upper back. “I’ll let you die in peace.” “Not just yet! Are you ready to interview some drivers, Jen?” Lisa, the woman who hired me headed over. She was like the CEO of F1 reporters for Sky, I didn’t know how it worked, but I was bloody glad she was here to guide me. “Just about.” I managed to stand up straighter. Nicole, the makeup artist, and Sebastian, the hairstylist, both headed over to touch me up- something I found myself enjoying a little too much. These people made me look better than anybody I’d ever had done my hair or makeup, I was starting to rely on them to make me look human, especially after last night.
“Well your first up with Max Verstappen, he was second to Lewis in Bahrain, will definitely be pushing for first today.”
“Oh yes! I know Max.” I waved my hand, I’d befriended Max two nights ago when all the drivers were out. “Yeah, Max and Charles looked to have a lot of fun with you the other night.” Lisa teased. Long story short, we’d taken one too many shots and Max Verstappen had thrown up over the side of a bridge into an Italian canal below. Classic.
Knowing my first interview ever was just with Max was reassuring. It made it all way less intimidating, even if the interview didn’t go so smoothly, it was entertaining and that’s exactly what I was hired for. “If you win how are you gonna celebrate?” I asked, holding the mic towards him. “You know exactly how!” Max began cracking up as I attempted to hold back my laughter. “Did you know your sky presenter can drink men under the table?” He slung an arm around me, tugging me to face the camera directly. I gasped and instantly began speaking again. “Well good luck today Max!! Wishing you all the best!” He laughed out loud as I changed the subject abruptly. “Thank you!” He laughed giving me a quick hug, “and you’ll be out tonight, yeah?” He asked as I nodded. “Sure.” “Hopefully not sneaking off with-“
“Oh, no, no, no!” My eyes widened, preventing him from finishing that sentence. Last night I’d got home with a man- another driver to be precise. It seems news spread quick amongst drivers and the grid. Max smirked and gave my one last goodbye before I moved on to interview a couple more celebrities lined up on the grid, waiting for the race to start. Interviewing random people there was far more easier than the drivers, when it came my time to head back over to where Ferrari were preparing on the grid I felt my chest tighten.
“Uh, Lisa, who’s my next interview with?”
“Well, just grab whoever you can, you’ve been doing so great at that so far, but next you are interviewing…” she scrolled down on her phone screen. Whilst I awaited her answer, I felt my heart rate increase, as if the hungover palpitations weren’t enough, this was giving me full blown anxiety. My eyes scanned over the grid, seeing two men dressed in their red Ferrari gear, it seemed they were awaiting me, looking over in the distance. Charles Leclerc and-
“Carlos Sainz!” Fuck! Simultaneous to Lisa saying his name there was a quick. “Yes?!” Following this, a body appeared besides mine and I was momentarily breathless, Carlos Sainz. The exact man I’d slept with only 12 hours prior and woken up next to in bed this morning. A series of flashback swept through me followed by a serious swooning as my eyes gazed up to the taller man. A pair of his dark eyes met my own gaze, and I saw him physically react. Eyes widened, mouth slightly parted. His gloved hand moved up to touch his chest, I wondered if his heart had leapt the exact same way mine had? “Carlos Sainz?!” I took a deep breath, forcing a smile as I remembered the cameras were rolling. “Hola!” He greeted, surprise lacing his tone, he hesitated slightly, waiting for my reaction before moving closer and greeting me to a kiss either side of my cheek. I gulped at the contact, the close proximity wafting the scent of his cologne, the exact same one that was plastered over my pillow cases. Double fuck! He was somehow even sexier now I was sober! “Jenna Ashley.” He laughed a little breathlessly as I remembered, judging by the flag on his front, he was Spanish. Duh. “Hola.” I giggled, knowing my face was just as vibrant as his uniform. I could feel Lisa eyeing me up from the sidelines of the interview.
“¿Hablas español?” (Do you speak Spanish?) he asked immediately, eyebrows perking, he seemed slightly nervous, unable to hold eye contact. I didn’t know if that was the awkwardness from the fact the man was quite literally inside of me last night.
“Uhhh, un poco. Pero hablemos en ingles o no les gusto.” (a little, but let’s talk in English or they wont like me). I slowly translated, glancing back to the clueless cameraman and Lisa. I think that made sense, my nerves mixed with my limited Spanish probably made me speak like a child. Carlos laughed in response, rubbing his hands on his uniform. I then went through a series of questions, finding it hard not to giggle with him right in front of me. I was reduced to the behaviour of a school girl. “How are you gonna celebrate if you win today? Or if you don’t win?!” “Any way possible… now there’s no COVID restrictions!” He inhaled excitedly. “Sounds good to me.” I glanced back at the camera, feeling his eyes lingering over me.
“Thank you, Carlos, it’s been a pleasure, good luck for today! I wish you the best.” I laughed, barely being able to maintain eye contact with him as his plump lips stretched into a happy smile. God, he was perfect, tanned skin, Spanish accent, insanely nice, polite, perfect mop of hair, and don’t get me started on those eyes, he had me swooning like I was straight out of a cartoon. “Gracias… thank you.” Carlos nodded down to me and the camera as I flashed him a small smile, stealing another glimpse at him through my eyelashes as he cleared his throat slightly once the camera was turned away. I could feel his eyes burning holes into me, I couldn’t tell if he was checking me out or if he was entirely baffled by the situation. I swallowed the lingering anxiety I felt, tensing my jaw at the thought of him scanning over my face. “Good luck.” I then flashed him another smile to combat the awkwardness as he stepped a little closer. “N-no sabia que ibas-“ (I did not know you were going-) he stammered, but his words fell short when I was being ushered onto my next interview. “I promise I’ll let you mingle afterwards! I’m sorry!” Lisa apologised, attempting to move me on. I turned back up to Carlos, opening my mouth but my words fell short. When we made eye contact once more I felt the butterflies in my stomach, the cliche way my heart jumped, and that knot in my chest tightening. It was all happening at once. “Good luck again!” I politely nodded as he offered me another genuine smile, eyes lingering over my face, as though he was trying to analyse my features. Pffft, it wasn’t like he didn’t have chance to do that last night. Talking about last night… my mind roamed back to the events of the night before, clouded from the mix of alcohol and sex that plagued my mind.

Asylum Challenge: Days One & Two
For the first two days, the Watcher mostly used the gameplay to beef up the one means she's using to organize the townies: clubs. There are two: a chore/self care club and a socialisation club. By the end of Day Two, we had eight members in them all and had redeemed points to give them a 'friendly' vibe.
The first of Lilac's four aspirations that she has to complete, according to the rules, is Painter Extraordinaire. Here's her progress after Day One.
Level One: III at Easel
✅ Paint for 5 Hours ❌ Start 3 Paintings While Inspired (2/3)
With such a motley crew as this, clashes were inevitable - and an occult combustion spontaneously occurred.
I regret to inform you that Vlad, with his nighttime strength perks, won the rematch after dinner, so for now they are tied.
Some friendly interactions also bloomed, with Lilac, Ted and fellow foodie L. appreciating maxed out chef Raj Rasoya's tasty dinner, and Lilac even sharing her joke about a sage, a corrupt mayor and a wanted criminal who one day walked into an asylum.
"We've heard this one before," said L.
Meredith and Jacques also joined them. So far everyone seems to like Meredith, possibly because of her GOOD trait, and even Jacques has been somewhat behaving himself.
After dinner it was reading, cleaning, napping and shower time via the house/self care club rules. MEAN L. Faba and EVIL Ted naturally hit it off, with Meredith electing to leave them to bond about... likely nothing good for the rest of us.
What was Raj doing lurking in the garden? Well, at that point there was only one toilet, so likely he was making use of the party bush.
The too-bright hallway lighting showing off his melanin-deficient charms to the fullest, Vlad attempted to win over Meredith, but where his EVIL trait didn't dissuade her, his uncontrolled hissing and spitting did the rest. Better luck another day, Vladdy.
And then as the witching hour struck, the Watcher realised that there was one Sim whose needs she wouldn't have to monitor too closely...
I truly have no idea why there were so few pictures from Day Two - maybe I had been struggling with the lighting and finally conceding defeat (three days so far have been played, so by Day Four it should be better :x). Meredith was on cooking duty, so the Sims got good eats for the second day in a row... including Vlad who joined in spite of that trait that makes him sick when he eats food.
Both he and the party bushes were later ruing his choice.
Level Two: Fine Artist
✅ Reach Painting Level 4 ✅ Sell 3 Paintings to Collectors or the Art Gallery ❌ Complete 3 Emotional Paintings (1/3)
Lilac painted enough to reach Level 2 of her aspiration, and even earned a stan in the process, who turned out to be Eleanor Sullivan. Haven't you darkened our doors enough by calling my teenaged Sims who don't even have children?
Fortunately L. was around to deal with the nuisance.
Upon setting this up, I'm realising just how ungainly it is to switch between the game and Paint 3D in order to take multiple screencaps, so hopefully C becomes more instinctual (also screencaps keep things in chronological order). More happens in Day Three, I promise.

The funniest show on television is Girls5Eva, which transplanted from the backwoods of Peacock to the mires of Netflix for its third season. While a lot of shows have taken off after landing on Netflix — You, for instance — Girls5Eva, from the data available publicly, didn’t get many viewers on the platform. I’m no expert on the mechanics of streaming, but I have one radical explanation for why this is happening: There are simply not enough episodes of Girls5Eva available to watch. On Peacock, the show had two eight-episode seasons. Netflix has given it an additional six. That means that Girls5Eva has aired, in total, only 22 episodes, about the same number as a full-season order of an old-fashioned network sitcom like 30 Rock, to which Meredith Scardino’s series is deeply indebted (Scardino wrote on 30 Rock; Tina Fey is a Girls5Eva executive producer). Over a three-year period? This is simply not enough!
Sitcoms are built for mass production and consumption, with dynamics between characters designed to generate an endless stream of story lines, and it can take a season or two to fully gel. Girls5Eva is lucky enough to have a distinct sensibility and a strong cast from the start, but it hasn’t had the space to work through all the possible material. There’s so much to mine in flashbacks to the girl group’s checkered early-aughts past, in Wickie’s failed solo career, in Summer’s wackadoo Christian upbringing, in Gloria’s fraught lesbian drama, and in Dawn’s attempts to find her own way as a songwriter (plus the larger meta arc of Sara Bareilles coming into her own as a comedic actor). Season three, in which the crew goes on tour around the country, tries to cover so much ground it’s like a distance runner sprinting at her vO2 max. The overarching plot — they want to perform at Radio City Music Hall — encroaches on all the fun along the way, rushing past a guest appearance from Cat Cohen, the reveal of Wickie’s real backstory, and an intricate Harry Styles parody. Sitcoms should be about all the fun everyone is having along the way, and we’ve lost that.
But there is another and perhaps more important reason that we need longer seasons of Girls5Eva: holidays. Network sitcoms, airing on a traditional schedule, have the opportunity to set episodes around the holidays near which they would air; think of the Thanksgiving episodes of Friends, The Office’s Christmas episodes, 30 Rock’s impeccable use of Leap Day. In my ideal universe where Girls5Eva has 22-episode seasons, Netflix would also abandon the binge strategy and air those episodes weekly, but that’s not a necessity. You could still drop them all at once, which gives me the opportunity to revisit the holiday episodes as those holidays occur throughout the year. If you need convincing, here are my suggestions for some holidays the Girls5Eva might celebrate:
Christmas (duh): Dawn tries to write a Christmas song; Wickie reveals a longstanding feud with Mariah Carey (she claims one of the items from her riff rolodex appears in “All I Want for Christmas Is You”; Mariah does not know her).
Thanksgiving: The girls try to book a gig at the Macy’s Parade (as Peacock actually had the stars do, to the confusion of my parents watching at home) while also atoning for their past sins at the event (revealed in flashback).
Valentine’s Day: Gloria revisits a past relationship with Taylor Lautner (she was his dentist).
Tax season: Summer reveals she hasn’t been paying taxes for years (thought you were covered if you already paid your church).
Presidents’ Day: Dawn tries to write a song about Lincoln being sexy, inadvertently offends a gay activist group.
Pride month: Return of Bowen Yang’s lip-sync influencer.
Cuffing season: Big for Gloria.
The Feast of San Gennaro: Big for Dawn (why is the show so all-in on Sara Bareilles being Italian??).
V-E Day: Wickie and Dawn’s husband, Scott, discover their mutual fascination with the Eastern Front: “I spent a lot of time touring post-Soviet states, okay!”
Casimir Pulaski Day: Gloria has beef with Sufjan Stevens.

The first "iconic" line we get in The Magnus Protocol, I.E. an intense, horrific, clearly a lot of weight put into it line in the first episode is "Some of him"
Of course this is a reference to the many taxidermied creatures/people from TMA, in fact it's a variation of what "Sarah" said to Jon when he asked if she was indeed Sarah. "Some of her".
Now I believe this could be narratively significant too, I don't want to outright assume that it is because sometimes you add something to be significant for other reasons, emotionally, effect on the audience, etc. TMA is no stranger (HAHA) to this and you can see it too in other RQ works and even Jonny's writing in his books.
However as soon as I heard Alex as Norris and therefore assumed one of the other voices was gonna be Jon (I was right but it was a fair thing to guess by anyone) and working on the assumption that Augustus is similarly related (one common theory right now is that that is Jonah Magnus's voice since Ben Meredith was supposed to voice him but he couldn't do it and it is intended to sound like an old man very much what Jonah said he was before he attempted The Right to The Watcher's Crown) then we get to my point:
I believe this might be hinting at the fact that entities and people on TMAGP universe are made of or have parts of other characters. "Some of them"
Chester, Norris and Augustus have the voices (perhaps more?) everyone in the OIAR crew has characteristics and sometimes directly reference (unknowingly) the TMA crew.
Some examples are Sam being of Arabic/Middle Eastern descent and good friends with an Alice. Alice having a similar attitude and sometimes saying stuff that Tim said. Gwen not only being from a rich family of the name Bouchard but also having some of the worst qualities of both Jon and Elias. Colin being closed off and prone to violence that seems to come from a constant battle with the supernatural, like Melanie. There might be more that I'm missing but this are the ones I have spotted so far or can think of.
In some of my favorite media (JJBA for instance) when given the opportunity of showing a different but similar universe the author decided that instead of doing direct references (those could be reserved for fun plays at the audience like Prince Abdul in Steel Ball Run or Gerry and Gee Gee in TMAGP) it's more interesting to "fuse" or "tear apart" previous characters into one or many others (like Josuke Higashikata who's both Gappy and arguably Norisuke, or Gyro being both William and Caesar) in order to create new characters that might do some call backs but aren't direct 1:1 versions of the previous universe.
In conclusion:
It might be that "Some of him" was not just emotionally charged but also a narrative hint that either thematically or (and here is how this gets interesting) literally many characters or entities in TMAGP are MADE of "Some of them"=Characters from TMA.

It is Roman comedy that takes place after Caesar’s assassination. Mark Antony and Gaius Octavius try to rule Rome while being completely broke and Cleopatra comes to visit. It have amazing jokes, theatre, pirates, lesbians, cult and much more! Eleventh episode was just released so it’s perfect time to join and listen.

"I love him, Meredith. It seems like I'm getting married tomorrow. I'm sorry you won't be able to attend. You and your little ones... I'm worried that being here won't be good for them. I'll send photos from the day as soon as I can. I've always wished you could be my bridesmaid, and that your dad would walk me down the aisle. I miss you all so much. I promise that as soon as work is done, we'll celebrate this day with our old crew. I’m sure you still keep in touch with Willa!" — Valerie.

DRAGON AGE THE VEILGUARD PREDICTIONS
I don't usually do text posts here, but I want to write down my predictions about DAV just for fun
We will meet Dorian and Fenris because they both kinda in Tevinter and their arcs from previous games could be relevant (also: slave uprising, please) + i will literally scream if those two will work together because the banters would be truly hilarious
No Hawke, Warden, Anders or any other character who can be optionaly dead because it's bioware guys
MEREDITH will be important or at least we will have couple of quests connected to her, Absolution exists gor a reason (or not and it will be completely ignored)
Crew from DA Absolution will be at least mentioned, maybe Miri will show up
We will have a chance to ruin Tevinter's political and/or social system because why not this shit should be ruined
Varric will die in the beginning of the game
War with the Qunari
Josephine as a powerful ally
Gray Wardens will be influenced by some shit again but not us and not our Warden companion
Mages can hit things with their staff PLEASE IT WAS GOD LEVEL RETURN IT TO US ALL I'M BEGGING YOU BIOWARE
Elven religion will be crazy important to the plot
This antivan killer guy is secretly dead, possessed or some third secret thing
