Oh, no, he did not want to get into this. They just made him an avenger again, there's no way that Deadpool is ruining that. Of course, it's his own fault that he is one of the nicer Avengers toward Deadpool. Something, something he cheered him up in jail once and another few not unfriendly encounters that involved two Hawkeyes and three controllers for Mario Kart (do not tell Tony about that).

a goodbye on a dreary rooftop. how romantic. she's not meant for this life. not with him. not with his deep rooted feelings for her. she could see it in his eyes , the way that he spoke to her. it was in everything he did. at first , it was fun to take advantage. diamonds and the occasional one night stand really made her feel alive. until it did not anymore. hope manifested in his eyes and made her feel an overwhelming guilt. he would deny such a genuineness as nobody wanted to be someone's lovesick puppy but she is done with this game of cat and mouse.

🛒: for our muses to go holiday shopping together / but they just steal

𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘 𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐏𝐔𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐈𝐒𝐋𝐄𝐒, no one dared to stop this odd - duo. plucking things off the shelf as they saw fit. neither of them had any currency on them - still treating the matter as if they were shopping like any other. ART took an interest in the hardware section, tossing anything that he could find into the cart his partner - in - crime was pushing. regular customers cleared the lane for them, not daring to say anything to them; a side - long glance was the most that they would get. if that, because they were too afraid of staring for too long. lest, their stares end up with one of them singling them out. the cart was a mis - mash of items from both of them, separate tastes for sure; it wasn't necessarily clear how the two of them were going to carry all of it out yet; but that was a problem for later on. for the moment, they were enjoying the domestic scene of getting to shop.

this was ART'S first time experiencing a DEPARTMENT STORE, especially around the holiday season. seeing the CHRISTMAS TREES had awakened something in him. he was pointing them out to WADE; trying to get him to look at them with great interest. his fixation on the holiday was like no other. the bright lights, the presents. all of the decorations had him running up & down the isles looking at the SANTA - SHAPED objects with glee. he couldn't get enough of it - what an odd fixation to have.

clark brought the back of his hand to his lips. his eyes looked down as he listened carefully but allowed his thoughts to form. wade had a wild past. and occupation many in the league condemned - so did clark... but everyone can change. even the worse villain can have a change of heart. and even deadpool can can start a new chapter - if he wanted to.

at this point the merc and the super had been friends for a long while. some may think wade was possibly trying to engage with clark's empathy and use it against him. but clark knew wade his friend would not lie to him. he had a young daughter who he could barley see yet wanted the best for. powers that now just maybe could be used for something bigger. clark always saw this spark in him. it was better now to nurture it then doubt wade. one chance ... a deserved one.

superman's hand came off his mouth and went firm on wade's shoulder.

not even a haze of smoke & ash can stop the thread of tension that pulls at his soul. DANGER. the goddess-given sense thrums like a guitar string & echoes through his very bones. every day he wonders if this is it. if this is the day of his death, 𝚏𝚘𝚛𝚎𝚝𝚘𝚕𝚍 𝚒𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚐𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚝 𝚠𝚎𝚋 / IF THE UNIVERSE HAS DECIDED IT'S BORED OF HIM. the building is coming down, thundering & cataclysmic. raging explosions tear through the air with a sound akin to shorn metal.

❛ we have to move ! ❜ he's not even sure his voice is heard through the cacophony. his other senses are in disarray. too much sound, too much smoke, too much bitterness in the air. ❛ wade ! where are you ? ❜ he knows he could leave. wade can survive anything. from being atomized to getting dropped in a volcano. nothing could keep the man in hell for too long. yet peter can't bear the thought of wade stuck under tons of rumble for who knows how long, suffering in the dark, perhaps dying over & over again until he's found. 𝚒𝚝 𝚠𝚘𝚞𝚕𝚍 𝚋𝚎 𝚝𝚘𝚛𝚝𝚞𝚛𝚎.

his spider-sense screams. peter flings himself backwards, searching for footing just as another explosion shakes the world around him. this time it's closer. too close. a billowing wave of flame soars over his head, the heat a bright point of discomfort. any longer & he'll finally start to feel it burn.

the ceiling crashes down around him. another explosion. this time his ears ring with the sound of it until he feels like he must have fried his brain. he stumbles back, his instincts warring with logic. flee, his body urges. ❛ WADE ! ❜ his voice cuts out as smoke slips through his mask. he coughs, shoulders shuddering. DANGER. he's thrown forward by the force of another explosion no, it's another body. arms curl over him, a chest plastered to his back. the world goes blissfully dark for all of a minute.

he sucks in a breath, then holds it. he has eight minutes. the body on top of him doesn't move. peter twists his head & sees that the darkness isn't due to a hard thump on the head, but because they've been buried. ❛ oh great, my favorite thing ever. dark enclosed spaces. ❜ the words don't have a familiar bite to them. the fear is real. it hammers in his chest, reminding him of nightmares he's never quite forgotten. 𝚋𝚞𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚍 𝚊𝚕𝚒𝚟𝚎, 𝚜𝚝𝚛𝚞𝚗𝚐 𝚞𝚙 𝚕𝚒𝚔𝚎 𝚊 𝚙𝚛𝚒𝚣𝚎, handled like a thing that was owned & discarded.

DO NOT THINK OF THAT. peter reaches back & feels the outline of pouches, a utility belt. he knows the shape over him, the body pressed along his back. the scent of iron & ash is thick & growing stronger. ❛ you . . . ❜ threw yourself on me. yeah, state the obvious. the stress increases. it doesn't matter if wade can heal, it always hurts. ❛ honey, are you awake ? regrowing anything important back there ? ❜
