Oh sweetie your reading comprehension skills are so poor itās embarrassing . Either that or you are pretending not to understand to avoid answering my points . In any case what a poor performance . So I guess I have to treat you as a child since you behave like one and make it very simple
ATLA entire plot alone was showing that sexism was bad . Do you understand the concept of a show telling you that something is bad ? They werenāt even subtle about it
There is not a SINGLE mention of this type of sexism still being around during Koreaās time. If there is prove it by giving an actual example . Oh wait your example was āAang didnāt learn water healing ! Wahh wahhh wahhh . Sure he didnāt learn meralbending either but clealry didnāt learn healing because of sexism ā
Oh yes your complicated reasoning of āitās sexist because I say itās sexist and because I donāt understand basic plot lines ā
Now are you going to keep embarrassing yourself with your illogical rants or are you going to the rage quit block route I am quite curious . Either way itās going to be amusing
There seems to be this take that itās somehow ādevaluingā healing and by extension womenās contributions by criticizing Katara ending up as a healer rather than a warrior in legacy, but this really misses the mark. The point is that from the beginning, Katara explicitly wanted to use her bending to fight. She never refers to herself as a healer; she says that she has healing abilities. It is a skill to her, not a trait she wishes to define herself by.
But since weāre on the subject of devaluing the practice of healing, Iād like to pose a question I havenāt seen anyone ask before:
Why did Aang never learn healing?
Itās a valuable skill and one he could have really used. Other benders such as Zuko passed on their own skills like lightning redirection to Aang to aid him. Why not healing? Maybe itās because heās the Avatar and so narratively he doesnāt needā
Oh. Interestingā¦
Itās almost like the narrative of the show itself is presenting healing as a woman thing that isnāt important enough for men to value learning.
