Little sneak peek at what my idea is for lunar need to figure out what I'm missing as it feels not done yet but idk what it is yet :p

Buttttt lunar is a axolotl and vampire squid as moon type mers have the pattern of being part squid or octopus and I'd love to see what yalls guess will be as to who moon will be!

Heads up this may not be the final design and I'd love some feed back on what to add!

Decided to draw a few more of my AU characters as animanettes for the mer au.

I don't think any of them are gonna make appearances in the story exactly, but they are side characters, and some interactions may happen. Uncertain right now though.

First up: Eclipse, and Starstrike

Eclipse had ended up in a bad incident a while back, and he did nearly die. Starstrike saved his life and helped him heal. Starstrike is a special type of animanette as well. They have a very good grasp on magic compared to most other animanettes. So much so that they can't contain all of their magic, and what they can't contain dances around their chest in rings.

Eclipse is half blind and badly scarred. It doesn't bother him too much though. He has adapted pretty well, though he still suffers from phantom pain, and has nightmares occasionally about the incident. Starstrike is never far from him. (Fun fact: his scars are based on the injuries he sustained from Rising Eclipse!)

Next: Lunar and Nova

Warning: Severe Abuse (skip red text if you don't want to read the more detailed stuff)

Nova was still badly abused by Black Moon, but guess what, this world has consequences for that! Black Moon's gonna be locked up for a long time, and even when he finishes his sentence, he is never allowed near Nova again!

Nova was still forced to do pretty much everything for Black Moon, and if he didn't meet his expectations, he was beaten, starved, and tied up. The ropes often tight enough that they left scars. Sometimes Black Moon even dragged him around by the ropes. Anyways, Black Moon is in prison and will not be getting out for a long, long time. And there is a restraining order against him so he can't go near Nova again anyways even after he's out.

Lunar is the one who helped Nova after he found out about what was going on. He gathered the evidence to convict Black Moon of his crimes, and he's helping Nova recover. Nova is still a little bit nervous around him since he looks a lot like his brother, but he is gradually getting better about it and is starting to trust him.

I may draw a few more of them later in this universe's style.

this is a redraw of a picture featured in this post! that drawing was originally made and finished in december(?) and this was begun on 13-6 and finished right now! Lunar belongs to @moonwithsmores, Sadie to Color from The Celestial Idiots channel Go check them out, they're hella cool hella swag!!

i did not make these designs! all i did was adjust lunar's fins to match the updated design and color sadie since the kiddo was never given colors!

I updated Lunar and (prev Eclipse) Solar’s designs. The personalities just ended up different in this drawing so now Lunar is a protective petty mer and Solar is a quieter mer.

Here’s mystery mer #1, Ichthyosaur Lunar Lunar is a friendly, but curious primal siren that would occasional leave his pod to visit new areas. It's during one of these ventures that he encounters the trio pod and YN. Of course he couldn't help but get closer to meet the human(after proving to your protective trio that he isn't a threat nor interested in anything more than platonic). He becomes a new friend to YN and would be the one that would answer most questions your boys would hesitate on speaking about. Lunar is 19 so not a fully grown siren and lives with a dolphin pod(a friendly one). He's been a siren for 15 years.... which indeed means he was turned when he was 4. It was a mixture of circumstance. Him accidentally falling off a ship during a rocky storm and a passing mourning mother siren that had lost her young pup recently. In the end he acts more of a natural-born siren than a turned siren, but he is raised well and loved with his adopted family pod. It's actually thanks to meeting YN that he discovers he's an ichthyosaur than some strange dolphin-fish. He was too young when he was human to learn about prehistoric creatures thus his tail's identity was a mystery for years.

I’m not sure if anyone asked this but to the mer brothers and the characters in the fairy au have any stims?

They do, in fact. Both physical and vocal.

Fairy AU:

Sun will flap his hands in all kinds of ways and kick his feet. He also does full body wiggles. An anxiety stim of his is sorta drumming his fingers against the heel of his palms or rubbing his arms.

Moon will sorta shimmy his shoulders and stims with his hands as well. When nervous he shakes his hands, like how you would to rid them of water.

Lunar hops on his feet, either with both or from side to side. He also pats his cheeks. He taps his hands on things when nervous or anxious.

Mer AU:

Sun with wag his head side to side while cooing and trilling excitedly. He also stims with his paws when nervous, shaking them out like Fairy Moon.

Moon wags his little…hat thing. I still have no idea what to call it. He also twitches his tail fluke, the kind of motion depending on how he feels.

Some of their vocal stims are: Friend! Fun! Happy! Play! Bad bad bad! Owie!
