I did go to bed at 10, promising myself a rich sleep. Lay two hours vigil¹; that cursed one single dish of tea! Note: My bed had undergone a thorough ablution and there were no bugs or insects. Got up and attempted to light candle, but in vain; had flint and matches but only some shreds of punk which would not catch. Recollected a gun which I had had on my late journey; filled the pan with powder and was just going to flash it when it occurred that though I had not loaded it someone else might; tried and found in it a very heavy charge! What a fine alarm it would have made if I had fired! Then poured out some powder on a piece of paper, put the shreds of punk with it and after fifty essays succeeded in firing the powder; but it being dark, had put more powder than intended; my shirt caught fire, the papers on my table caught fire, burnt my fingers to a blister (the left hand, fortunately); it seemed like a general conflagration. Succeeded, however, in lighting my candle and passed the night till 5 this morning in smoking, reading, and writing this. "Essai sur le Caractere, les Moeurs et l'esprit des Femmes".² Par M. Thomas; second edition, Paris: 1772; small octavo, 215 pages. Well written; much historical information; many books, of which I had not heard, are quoted. He meant to be liberal and [a] friend to the sex, but like all I have read, has set out wrong; has not seen the source of the evil, though the evils are acknowledged, and of course has not found the remedy; this will remain for Gamp. "Tableau Litteraire de la France pendant le 18me. siecle." Sujet propose en 1806 par la Classe de la langue et de la litterature.³ Paris: 1807. Octavo; 91 pages; close printed; anon. This I presume to be a sort of prize piece. It is well written; his distinctions are pretty good but his eulogies extravagant. "Le Voyageur Fataliste"; comedie en trois actes en vers⁴; par Armand Charlemagne; Paris: 1806. I had foresworn French comedies and hate comedy in verse; this, though long, was not found tiresome. "Rapprochement des Arbres".⁵ Duodecimo, about 150 pages. Paris: 1807; par ———. Where have I laid that book? Will find it to-morrow and give you the author's name. It is a new discovery by which you give to any tree the sap and nourishment of another or of some branch of another, and by this means you may change and improve the colour, size, and flavour of any fruit. The results are curious and useful; pray try it. You see, Madame, I have not been idle; now allow me to attempt sleeping.
29. P.M. Slept very well till 10 when Mr. D. came in a la souedoise⁶ on some very urgent message, which I answered only by a round of curses. However, I was waked and got up. Took breakfast at \i. Feuilliéd⁷ (rummaged) in the library for two or three hours (there is an arrival of new books from Paris); then walked out with Gransbom to try the market for guineas; changed four at 8 rix dollars 36 sch. each. Waited an hour for Barth without success. Called at the post-office; no letters. No doubt my letters are stopped by the British government! 'Tis impossible that every human being can have forgotten me for four months. For my female friends I would swear, but what remedy. Me voici.⁸ Post I will go off to Hamburg or Memel. As soon as I can find Barth will hunt for passages to ——— everywhere and then determine. Called at the lodgings of Bar. Ulfspasre, for whom I had a letter from London and just now determined to deliver it; has left town. Home at 6. On the way called to see Captain Van Alen. Mjolk and brö. for middag and afton.⁹ Read an hour or two in "L'ltineraire de l'Allemagne"¹⁰; Paris: 1807. You see I am preparing! Read also a treatise (French) on the authority of parents, i.e. fathers, for women are not in question. Cannot now lay hand on it to give you the title, but will find it. The subject was proposed by the Institut National and this book gained the approbation and the prize. In my opinion no way flattering to the genius of the nation. There is, indeed, a good deal of historical fact, but much declamation and flourish.
1 This word, which has been used several times, is a Latin adjective meaning wakeful. 2 "Essay on the Character, the Morals (or Manners), and the Mind of the Women." 3 "Literary Picture of France During the Eighteenth Century." A Subject Proposed (proposé) by the Class in Language and Literature [of the French Academy]. 4 "The Fatalistic Traveler." A comedy in verse in three acts. 5 "The Bringing Together (Junction) of Trees." 6 For à la suédoise. After the Swedish fashion. 7 Another hybrid verb, and badly formed, from French feuilleter, to turn over the leaves of a book. 8 Here I am. 9 Swedish. Evening. 10 "Itinerary of Germany."

“i’ll wait for you.”
eyes fluttered gently, gaze falling upon the male at her side. it seemed shock took her by surprise, for words were brimming at her lips but nothing came out. twas not until she closed her eyes, and let her body completely relax, was she able to speak. “Will you really?”

“Czechs Not Alien Enemies, But Required To Register,” Toronto Star. October 27, 1939. Page 24. --- ‘Necessary for Identification Only,’ Ottawa Says - Wartime Regulation --- By H. R. Armstrong --- Ottawa, Oct. 27. - Czecho-Slovaks being required to register in Canada as aliens are not regarded as alien enemies, it was explained here today by the external affairs department.
They are being registered ‘for necessary identification only’ under the general regulations governing aliens in the Dominion in wartime, it is stated. The registration edict applies to all persons born within territory ‘which was under the sovereignty of or control of the German Reich on September 3, 1939, and who have not become British subjects.’ Because the order applies to territory ‘under control’ of Germany, the question of recognition of Germany’s sovereignty over Czecho-Slovakia is not involved in registration of Czechs, it is explained by federal authorities.
Great Britain, it is stated, requires registration of all aliens even in peace time, including United States citizens. Under this ruling registration of Czecho-Slovaks in Britain has been proceeding along the same lines as in Canada, according to officials.
No Registration of Poles Though large sections of Poland are now under German control, Poles are not required to register in Canada because no portion of Poland was under control of the Reich on Sept. 3, and because Poland was conquered since the outbreak of the present war. Poland still exists as a legal entity in the eyes of Canada, and is an ally of Britain and France in the war, it is explained.
Answering criticism of registration of Czecho-Slovaks the external affairs department claim the registration regulations follow well-settled precedents both in Britain and Canada. ‘Undoubtedly most of the Czecho-Slovaks in Canada are loyal and their sympathy with the cause of Canada in the war,’ an official told The Star, ‘but the matter is not as simple as that.’
The status of all sorts of people has to be considered, it was explained. There are immigrants to Canada from Austria before it was taken over by Germany, newcomers from the Sudetenland, the Saar and Memel. The question of registration is therefore involved and the general regulations evolved are considered necessary to meet the situation.
Few Known Nazi Supporters While nearly all recent arrivals from these territories are in sympathy with Canada’s war aims, a few were known to be Nazi supporters, it was stated. The whole situation had to be considered when framing regulations. In Britain, it is stated here, all aliens have not only to register but to report changes of address, even in time of peace.
There is no suggestion here that the regulations may be altered to omit requirement of Czecho-Slovaks to register. ‘There have been no complaints from the Czechs themselves.’

EDMOND, OK—Amazed at how quickly the boy had answered four consecutive questions, local man Kevin Gibson said Monday that his stepson was absolutely nailing the Jeopardy! category about the Third Reich. “Wow, Kyle just rattled off the name of the Nazi Party anthem like it was nothing,” said a stunned Gibson, adding that the 17-year-old not only knew the exact date Lithuania surrendered Memel to Germany, but he also responded lightning-fast the very second Alex Trebek finished reading the clue. “The first question was kind of easy, but then there was one about some random concentration camp in Poland, and instantly he was just like, ‘Oh, that’s Majdanek.’ Meanwhile, all three contestants just stood there like there was no way anyone was gonna know this.” At press time, Gibson thought his stepson had finally guessed wrong, only for the show to issue a correction minutes later.

"I’m dying.” { from young Regina }
For a moment she wasn’t entirely certain what she heard but then she found herself turning to look at Regina, wide eyed. Why would she say something like that? Regina was still so young, and gods she was the love of her life and here she was saying that she was dying. No, she wasn’t going to let her. She walked over to her and cupped her cheek, eyes locked with hers as they began to fill with tears. “I won’t let you die. I will defy death itself to keep you safe, now tell me, why say such a thing my cara mia?”

Recently added this amazing set of antique bone Kau Cim to the collection (also known as Kau Chim or Chien Tung, or “Chinese Fortune Sticks” here in the West). For the uninitiated, users would open the container full of small sticks or rods and call a particular question to mind, shaking the container horizontally until a single numbered stick worked its way loose and fell to the ground. The number is then interpreted by a monk or priest, or compared to a chart to determine the answer to your posed question. In this example’s case, the individual sticks are each shaped like various Chinese and kung fu pole arms! The accompanying note gives some hint of the age and provenance, even if it holds a glaring error about what the item actually is. It reads: "My grandfather Beerbohm made these Klöppelgabel for my grandmother when she was 14 years and he was 21 years old. Gretchen Amker, who has a reverence for family members is supposed to get this." The inheritance note was dated December 4, 1925 and signed in Memel, in what is now Lithuania. But this is problematic. Klöppeln is not a divination technique, but rather a traditional style of lace in Niedersachsen, north of Germany. Klöppelgabel is the German term for the small, distinctive bobbins used to keep track of each end of thread. So either we have a note that is totally mismatched to the chien tung, or someone from the Beerbohm estate was mistaken about what the items were, and guessed they were lace-making tools. But who knows? Either way—mistaken note or not—an extraordinarily fine artifact that’s headed for my shelf of Eastern divination tools! #fortuneteller #fortunetelling #divination #kaucim #chientung #oracle #fate #fortune #pastpresentfuture #occult

***************************************************************
BE PREPARED
1. It is essential to register your attendance in advance so that the coordinator knows how many to expect and ensure a successful workshop for all.
2. Members and Non-Members can attend the Workshop, however, ONLY Songsalive! Pro Members can present their song for critique or pitch.
3. First timers (whether Member or Non-Member) may only watch/audit the workshop (not present a song), but can participate in question/answer segment.
4. Songwriters presenting a song for critique/pitch must:
a. Bring at least 10 typed copies of your lyric sheet (with full contact details)
b. bring your song on CD or perform live (bring your instrument - unplugged/no P.A). All CD's must be burned to work on a CD Player. Please check the CD first - if it won't play in your car CD then it won't work at the workshop.
c. have CD labeled with track number / and instruments tuned and ready.
5.How Song critiques are chosen: Song Critiques are randomly chosen from those who arrive and are fully signed in before 6.55 pm (not whoever arrives first). We try and start sign in at 6.45 pm (depends on our set up needs). This does not guarantee we will get to all songs within workshop (depends on numbers). Any arrivals post 6.55 pm will be on a wait list and if we have the time will try to fit those in. Anyone who arrives post 7.15 pm will not be eligible to receive a song critique, even wait listed. Workshop starts on time, 7 pm.
6. Do I have to get a song critique? No. You don't need to present a song for critique to benefit from our workshop. Watch, listen, participate and meet fellow peers. It's all part of learning.
7. We do not support late arrivals. Please be on time to be fair to our participants and guests and stay from beginning to end.
***************************************************************
MORE ABOUT THE SONGSALIVE! WORKSHOPS
Our guest speakers represent all facets of the industry from A&R, publishers, successful producers, CD production and distribution execs and, of course, writers and composer who share their ideas, tips & techniques on all aspects of the songwriting craft.
Some topics include song structure, song production, lyric writing, finding inspiration, songs and the media, promoting your music online, how to tour, how to get songs in film and television, performing at your best.
Our workshops are designed for songwriters and composers (from budding to professional) who have written songs, or are in the songwriting stage, who want to further their craft, gain feedback on their music, and potentially get their songs out to the world. However, we also have singers, musicians, and non music types who attend as it's a great networking opportunity (singers looking for songwriters, or musicians looking for songs, as examples).
The goals of the workshop are about 1) the SONG and making it the best it can be 2) providing a community for our members to gather, network, collaborate and learn.

So anyways I may have been developing stuff on a next-gen fanfic to write for Moana? Starring..... Moana's daughter Memele! (apparently in Latvian it means ' surrounded by water ', but more importantly, as a Polynesian/Maori word, it means ' to sing often '. ) To keep her safe until she's old enough, Memele is raised on a peaceful island, and promised that when she's old enough, she can join her mother on voyages. Also there is a giant volcano nearby, the supposed resting place of a former goddess of fire. But a large crocodile monster attacks anyone who gets near it! Which therefore means Memele MUST investigate this. This does not go well for her. You can guess already, she sails out and gets attacked by the monster. Thanks to Maui being her uncle, basically, she survives! And the family sincerely hopes she's learned her lesson about being reckless. Spoilers: It hasn't. In fact, it's made her more determined than ever to investigate the mystery behind the volcano, no matter what she has to do. Or ...what if you were told you can save your island and find all the answers you seek by diving into a volcano? I probably spent too much time trying to figure out Memele's scars. The bite covers most of her torso, going from her right side just below the arm to the other side of her torso, nearly, in a vaguely v-shaped pattern. Her right arm is still there, but it kinda got a bit munched and has never fully recovered from the attack. Below the elbow, her arm is basically skin and bones. Her hand may not always work, and she can hold nearly zero weight with it, but... well...at least it's still there. Long story short, Moana's partially crippled daughter explores Lalotai, seeking a way to save her people and a lava goddess, as well as searching for her purpose and how to prove herself, joined by a mysterious demigoddess who promises to protect her, but won't explain why. I'm still looking up some things to make the whole thing flow better. Facts, names, cultural notes, that sort of thing.

You had eventually fallen asleep, Sora curled aganist your chest, as normal, when you woke up, Gladion was gone. Like always. You let out a small sigh and sat up "alright Sora, wanna disobey Gladion again and go on a walk?" Your not gonna stay inside all the time, hell no. Sora looked up at you and yawned, then buried her fade in her fur, you just laughed and picked the vulpix up, out you go.
You wandered around the route, not daring to stray to far from the motel, you hummed slightky, eventuakly dropping Sora to make the vulpix walk. You heard footsteps, and made a dive to hide behind a bush, seeing Plumeria walk by, two grunts behind her. You gulped and stayed quiet, before eventually slinking out of the bush, trying to get to the nearest dock, as they were heading for the motel.
You broke into a run, Sora stumbling behind you. Quickly seeing the dock and slamming some money down "Memele island boat, please." You quickly said, fear bubbling in your eyes. The docker raised an eyebrow, but didnt question it, taking the money and leading you to the boat, before you knew it, the boat was moving. You let out a quiet sigh of relief. You'd call Gladion later, right now you needed rest. And rest you got.
When you were woken up, there was an odd looking boy standing over you, a panicking girl behind him. You looked up, looking around a bit. Realizing you were on a couch. "Hey kid, you alright?" The boy asked, raising an eyebrow, you stared at him for a moment before nodding slightly. "S-Sora, wheres, vulpix-" you stammered, looking around more. Seeing you were on a loft, Sora happily playing with a Rockruffbp down below. You sighed with relief. "Uhm, im Sun. Whats your name?" The girl looked over, realizing Sun was talking to you "Sun dont ask her questions, let the girl adjust first!"
You..most to say, were confused. You knew where you were now, you knew one of their names, you werent exactly in danger. "Im..im uh..im Y/N." The girl froze, slowly drawing her full attention to you. "Oh my god, your the missing kid."
-----------
Moon was shocked, this was Y/N!? Mallow, Acerola, and Lana would be relieved! "Missing..? They know full well i left on my own accord." Y/N mumbled. Moon tilted her head, but didnt pry. Sun looked like he was itching too. "Welcome back to Memele island, and welcome to proffeser Kukuis lab." Moon said, slight joy in her voice "...yea okay, thanks." Y/N tried to stumble to her feet, only falling into Sun, who quickly caught her "yeaa, no." Moon helped the girl back onto the couch
"What happened?" Y/N asked, narrowing her eyes. Moon blinked "you were out cold on the beach with your Vulpix crying next to yiu. Do you know what happened to the boat..or, whatever you were on?" Y/N shook her head. Sun sighed "alright, Moon im gonna go get Kukui. Keep an eye on crazy here." Sun walked off, and Moon noddes..kind of, having a stare down with the girl.
"..so, where did you go?" "This innterogation?" Fair answer. Moon sighed "nah, just curious. Everyone at school talks about you alot. You certainly made a mark." Y/N rolled her eyes, flicking Moons nose. "If you rreeaaallly wanna know. I left and became a pirate." Moon raised an eyebrow in amusement "in other words, your keepin it a secret for now?" Y/N gave a thumbs up.
"Youre a new face, how long you been here in Alola?" Moon hummed "around five months or so, give or take a week." "If you dont know me, but showed up 5 months ago,id take a week." Y/N chuckled, Moon blinked "so, you left when i showed up?" "Seems so." Moon snickered "have you been alone?" Y/N looked at Moon with a slight glare.n"alright, alright, i wont ask again"Moon chuckled
--------
Hau was training on route 5, when he remembered that Gladion lived in the motel on the route, deciding to visit him. Couldnt hurt, they were friends now, werent they? Hau hummed, knocking on the door of his friend, only for it to quickly open and he was kinda, dragged in.
"Dammit whered you go i thought you..were..hurt..." Gladion stared at Hau, processing..."crap!" He pulled his hand back "uh, sorry Hau, um, whatcha doin here?" He asked, Hau raised an eyebrow, letting out a slight chuckle "better question is, what are you doing here, dont you stay at the Aether foundation?" "Uhm, no." Alright then. Off that. "I was training, and yknow, just wanted to say hi. Wondering if you wanted to go back and visit Moon and Lillie with me!" Hau beamed at him
"No, no, i cant go." "Aw, why not?" Gladion bit his bottom lip "im waiting for someone that went missing." "...are you dating someone Gladion, should i leave?" "What?! No, Hau shut up!" Gladion went a bit red and he glared daggers at the Alolan boy, which just resulted in Hau laughing.
"Now, seriously, why cant you go," Haus laugh cut short, and he let his top eyelids drop a bit in annoyance. "I told you, my friend went missing." "Whats her name." "Not telling you." "Stop making excuses to not see your sister and Moon again!" Gladions eye twitched "dammit Hau- i do want to see them, but i cant just leave this person, they might be hurt!"
"Who would hurt them?" "Team skull." "You're part of team skull." Gladion slapped him upside the head, and Hau softly whimpered, putting a hand to the spot that was slapped "Gladion cmon, im sure they miss us, take your mind off this person and take a break." Gladion stared at Hau, before shoving him out of the room and slamming the door
