Pleasantview - Burb: Prologue #4

Jennifer got to the coffee shop exactly on time, and nervously looked around for Melissa.

15 minutes went by, and still no sign of her new friend.

Where are they? She wouldn't ask me to meet here if she wasn't coming, right?

30 minutes went by, and Jennifer was still alone in the coffee shop.

And then she heard them.

"Hey! Nice dress. Sorry I'm late. My photoshoot went over."

Jennifer giggled. "No worries. Can I buy you a cup of coffee?"

She felt so happy to be with Melissa again, that the stress of having to wait an extra 30 minutes to see her friend dissipated.

"Aren't you gonna have coffee?"

Jennifer shrugged, "If I have coffee after 12pm, then I'll be a ball of anxiety all night long."

Melissa chuckled, "Seems like you're a ball of anxiety most of the time."

"Excuse me—"

She couldn't argue with them, though. She truly was anxious most of the time. If it weren't for her anxiety and fear of failure, Jennifer would never get anything done.

"Let's change the subject, please!" Jennifer giggled. She didn't usually giggle this much. Normally, she was pretty straight-laced. I suppose Melissa brings out a more fun side of me...

"Alright," said Melissa, "What brings you to Pleasantview?"

Jennifer took a deep breath. How was she supposed to explain her and John's five-year plan that she was only halfheartedly following along with because she didn't know what else to do with herself?

How could she tell someone who was nearly a stranger that she had hoped that moving here would make her into the person she always wanted to be, but that turned out to be a stupid pipe dream?

But before she had to answer, a random person sat down right next to her and Melissa. Even though they saved Jennifer the awkwardness of having to answer that question, she still felt annoyed that someone else was intruding on her time with Melissa.

"Hey, I just wanted to say that you and your girlfriend are really cute together. And uh—if you're ever looking for a unicorn, feel free to hit me up."

"Excuse me??" Jennifer was completely shocked. "We're not—I mean—I—I'm married!"

"Oh, sorry, I didn't notice your ring. Okay, so you and your wife—"

"I'm gonna go to the bathroom," said Melissa, and disappeared in an instant.

As soon as Melissa stood up, Angela sat down in her place.

"Hi, Aunt Jennifer. Didn't expect to see you here."

"Oh, Watchers," thought Jennifer, "now my niece has to witness my public embarrassment..."

"What's your name?" she asked the intrusive stranger.

"Tina."

"Tina. Meet my niece, Angela."

Finally, Melissa came back from the bathroom, and Jennifer could politely escape that awkward situation.

"Wanna get outta here? There's a cool jewelry store nearby."

The jewelry store was much more relaxing than the chaotic coffee shop. This place was more up Jennifer's alley. She browsed the entire shop until the sun went down, chatting with Melissa the entire time.

Melissa was so easy to talk to. Jennifer felt like she had known them for ages, which was strange, because she had always thought of herself as a pretty guarded person.

Finally, Jennifer settled on a classic pair of small gold hoop earrings.

"Those earrings are so beautiful on you. You look gorgeous."

Jennifer blushed. The entire time they were in the jewelry store, she kept thinking about how Tina had assumed they were partners.

What if we were...?

She was grateful when Melissa offered to walk her to her car, as it was late and the parking lot was almost empty.

She was also slightly embarrassed of her "soccer mom" van that John had convinced her to buy when they first got married. He wanted to fill it up with kids, but she still didn't know if she could give him that.

"Well—" Melissa interrupted her reverie.

She grabbed Jennifer's hand, and once again, Jennifer was shocked by how soft her skin felt.

"I know you're married and everything, but I would regret it forever if I didn't try this—"

Jennifer couldn't believe what was happening—Melissa kissed her and she kissed them back, and now they were making out in front of her van like a couple of teenagers. Kissing her felt so...right, in a way that kissing men never did.

Jennifer felt as though a hidden door in her heart had been opened, and she was simultaneously amazed and terrified.

Raising twin toddlers makes for very busy gameplay, but there's not a whole lot to say about it when it goes well. Coral's the one who took family leave this time (she's a high school teacher), but she still went to work when Herb had the day off from his natural scientist job.

William is much neater than Theodore.

Melissa Fancey happened by and played with the kids.

William loves playing with blocks. Looooves. Theodore's more into... well, whatever's going on is fine with him.

Coral grabs any opportunity she has to interact with another adult.

Mary-Sue realises she’s been too focussed on her career and has negleced her family because of it. She’s aware of her husband’s affairs and her daughter’s rivalry, and she’s doing her best to ‘fix’ things.

Pleasantview - The Oldie Family

It’s always been a sore point for Coral that she wasn’t able to have kids of her own and she feels very lucky to have been able to adopt Mary-Sue. When Herb confessed that he had been having an affair with Melissa Fancey and that there was a baby the mother wasn’t ready to take care off, it’s was a slap in the face for Coral. She didn’t hesitate and took the little guy in, but Herb has been sleeping on the couch ever since.

Hi! I love your 50 new LTWs mod but edited some of the numbers (yours and Maxis) to suit my gameplay. Now I get this gossip error in HoodChecker but only for the "have 5 simultaneous lovers" LTW (maxis lowered from 20). Any idea what's causing this or how to fix? Happened to several sims in different hoods when playtesting (no other issues with other edited values or LTWs). Amy help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hi! Looks like a broken memory. Melissa Fancey has a memory of having simultaneous lovers where the subject is... 0x6F97E8BF - Crepe Suzette? 😄 I don't even want to know!

I was about to ask you for more details, but then I googled and found this reddit that says the memory is buggy.

I have to speculate here, but since you lowered the requirement for this LTW, more sims got the chance to get the memory, thus you see a sudden outburst of issues with it.

In any case, I think you can open Melissa's memories in SimPE and edit this one to fix the subject (change it to Melissa).

Así es, Anita ganó las elecciones, y no parece que haya tenido mucha competencia. Tampoco habían propuestas demasiado interesantes pero confío en que Anita será una buena lider y llevará a Adawood a figurar en los mapas.

Como primera tarea, Anita fue a visitar todos los negocios en Adawood. Saludó a cada dueño y los entrevistó acerca de cómo va su negocio, qué clase de problemas tienen y cómo se puede mejorar.

Después de eso, Anita volvió a casa para estar con Marianita.

Eh... algo le sucedió a los wants de Marianita... pero luego se arregló.

Anita rompió con Jason y después de la derrota de Jason, su relación se fracturó aún más.... pero por alguna razón eso les prende?????

Cada quién, supongo.

Por otro lado, también se está ligando a Melissa Fancey. Parece que ya le gustó la libertad, pero, se comprometerá con alguien?

Y por último, hablemos de Marianita. Ella es una niña muy lista, dominó todos los skills de toddler (caminar, hablar, canción, baño). Para que Marianita no se aburriera y para no cortar su desarrollo, Anita le consiguió uno de esos juguetes de madera donde metes figuras en los hoyos correspondientes... La sola idea me da flashbacks.

Al inicio, este nuevo juego resultó muy complicado y la pequeña psicópata de Marianita sacó la clásica movida... casi me da algo cuando ella puso el círculo en el cuadrado.

Afortunadamente, llegó Anita a salvar el día.

Al final de la semana, Marianita había ganado como 4 puntos de lógica y creció a una niña muy saludable e inteligente. No puedo esperar a verla crecer y ver todo lo que va a lograr.

Es un poco extraño que Marianita no sea un sim planta pero Roger sí.. genética supongo (tengo un mod que hereda supernaturals pero no lo entiendo xd)

Hmm, not everyone is having such a fun time! Melissa Fancey tries her luck with newly-married John, much to everyone else’s disgust. (Sims are such hypocrites - even the other Romance Sims are disapproving.)

Caroline is not going to let her new husband get away with this! To be honest though, she did know exactly what he was like before she married him.

Charles pitches in to defend his sister’s honour...

...and swiftly lives to regret it!

A bit of grovelling is in order.

And at least John is smart enough to not make the same mistake - in public - twice.

Kitty is becoming more contemplative in her middle age, and longs to write a bestselling novel - OK, let’s give it a whirl then, Kitty!

It’s also way past time to take George and Kitty’s long-standing engagement to the next level. I was too lazy to set up a big fancy do for them, so it’s just a quiet, private ceremony in the comfort of their own living room.

Interestingly, George has had a Want to get married to Kitty ever since his fling with Cassandra, which thankfully now seems to be a thing of the past.

And then of course, age finally catches up with some of my most young-at-heart Sims. This time the occasion is a family affair.

It has to be said, Lydia does have a cute backside.

Not bad, George, not bad.

Don’t mind George - he got an MP3 player for his birthday.

Go us, for having such an amazing birthday party!

Pleasantview - Burb: Prologue #2

Jennifer was in the middle of editing her cover letter for what felt like the thousandth time when the doorbell rang.

Jennifer rolled her eyes. She could hear John clattering around in the kitchen, which meant it was her turn to answer the door.

Ugh. It's either gonna be a cult or a greasy SimVac salesman...

But Jennifer was pleasantly surprised when she opened the door to a very cool-looking person who was about her age.

"Hi, my name is Melissa Fancey. My pronouns are she/her or they/them. I'm just walking around the neighborhood to advertise my photography and personal training businesses. Here's my card!"

Jennifer's fingers brushed against Melissa's as she took the business card, and she was surprised by how soft their skin was.

"Oh," Melissa added sheepishly, "I promise I'm not just saying this to butter you up—but that dress looks incredible on you."

Jennifer felt like her heart was going to jump out of her chest.

She reached out to pat Melissa on the shoulder, saying, "Your outfit is pretty cool, too!"

As soon as the words came out, she internally cringed. OMG, I can't believe I just said that! What is wrong with me??

They held eye contact for a few seconds longer before Melissa gave her a hug goodbye.

"I gotta jet now, but let's get coffee sometime, kay?"

Jennifer couldn't help but smile while Melissa held her. Even though they had just met, she couldn't wait to see her again.

Cara and Michael had gotten married because they got pregnant with little Leondre. Cara had worried that Michael, who had clearly enjoyed being a bachelor, would think she was trying to baby-trap him. The thought had never even crossed Michael’s mind.

His aunt Rosemarie had tried to baby-trap his father; the result had been that Greg Miller had stopped seeing Rosemarie, but kept the two boys - one who was his (Jeremy) and one who was not (Geoff). Rosemarie had been satisfied with the result.

Michael wanted to be there for his son. While Geoff had adored his mother, and Jeremy had found a mother replacement in Arianna (Charlotte, Liz & Michael’s mother*), Michael knew that had all worked out quite fortuitously and would never have risked his son not having committed and present parents.

*Actually, Rosemarie is Michael’s mother, with Fred Foxman, but Michael doesn’t know that. In fact, no one alive is aware that Greg and Arianna Miller aren’t his parents and that Liz is not his twin. But that’s a story for another day.*

While Michael had no intention of losing his family, he also had no intention of stopping his extra curricular activities.

And he was not very subtle about them either.

He met woman at the Weight Room, often enjoying a woohoo in the sauna.

He also enjoyed having them at the house, when Cara wasn’t around.

Some fun singing on the kareoke machine.

And some romance on the front lawn, where anyone walking by could see.

But so far, Cara had not caught him. And he hoped she never did.

It wasn’t that Cara wasn’t enough for him, exactly. She was plenty of woman and plenty interested in woohoo.

Just, as much as he enjoyed his wife and knew he would never tire of her company, he also didn’t consider stopping woohooing other woman as an option.

Don had to work a lot, with the pattern of promotions he was getting, so he didn't have that much time to progress his woohoo 20 Sims LTW.

Happily, work and play are synergistic for him. Melissa Fancey isn't the only woman who got him a promotion, though I can't remember who the other one was.

Lana Roper got him higher wages.

He hasn't had time to go out, but luckily hot women are walking by all the time.
