Ok this episode was the PAYOFF for everything that's been building up since episode one sydgdjs I'm SO stoked for the direction they're taking this. Nat mercy killing Ben? Check. Lisa returning?? Check (and Lottie perpetuating the cycle of parental love = money oh girlie...) Callie becoming even more entangled in her mom's web of murders and lies? Oh baby CHECK. Nat and Travis interactions? Shauna showing actual remorse and empathy for Nat during the butchering, showing she's not as cutthroat and heartless as she's appeared all season, letting some vulnerability show?? Introduction of proper high stakes in the adult timeline!! I'm sooo so excited to see these girls hunt some poor birders in the woods.

Funny, bcs the jayvik fans are the ones to always bring up Mel even when she isn’t mentioned. They always feel the need to bring her down and call her manipulative when everyone involved(Jayce and Viktor) wanted something out of their relationship(Jayce, Mel or Viktor).

Jayce needed her connections to prosper and develop Hextec to the level we saw throughout the show. He also incredibly depended on her during their first meeting (Jayce’s court hearing) where he was almost banished from the academy. He also needed Viktor’s intelligence to develop his ideas and took all the fame (which Viktor was fine with).

Viktor needed Jayce’s Hextec to “fix” his handicap (which led to addiction for perfection and hunger for power, but this isn’t the main issue of my thread). He also created a cult, to get more power, which enslaved everyone in Piltover, until my boy Ekko saved them (which is funny because he’s also a character that isn’t given his flowers, because of a societal idea starting with “r” 👀).

Yes, Mel used Jayce’s Hextec for her own reasons (trying to stop her mother from invading them??? so idk i would say that’s a pretty good reason). The Jaymel fans defend her because the hate she’s getting (for doing exactly what her male counter parts have done) is extremely disproportionate.

The true reason people hate her is because she is the richest person in Piltover and because that person is a black woman (had she been a white woman people would NOT care). People don’t like that Mel had power over the two men, they feel the need to make her seem more evil than she was (because at the end of the day, her reason for using Jayce was a good one, but y’all aren’t ready for that conversation. I’m not justifying her actions, just explaining) to justify their extreme hate for her. We all know it. They say that they just didn’t like the way she was acting, but then praise the other two for the same reason. I’m tired of people being misogynoir (because that’s exactly what it is, I know y’all are scared of saying it but it is what it is) and then hiding their racism/sexism. (Thinking about the video of the white creator destroying the Mel Pop Doll (forgot the flipping name) because it wasn’t the one they ordered, it made me sick.)

But Jayvik fans constantly complaining about her and unnecessarily tearing her down is the reason why people have difficulty getting into the fandom. The obsession y’all have for the two is toxic.

(I’m not personally a fan of it, because I see them as brothers. I believe they died together to show how deep the power of friendship(mlp reference) can be. I think that trying to make a relationship, that shows a strong bond of friendship between two men, gay is questionable to me because I thought that Jayce and Viktor’s relationship was amazing because of how deeply they care about each other platonically. To me it showed how far people are willing to go for their friends/siblings. idk if i explained it well and it’s not my place because i’m just a bisexual girl, i just thought i would bring this up. Love can be platonic, romantic, family ties and so much more!

But I digress because what I’m trying to say is that i don’t see what jayvik fans see but I don’t bring down other ships to put mine on a pedestal. It’s unnecessary and makes your ship insufferable.)

Mel wasn’t an angel, but she also wasn’t the devil incarnate. Stop vilifying her more than she deserves to justify your racism. Stop objectifying her, by saying “she’s hot, but there’s nothing more to her”, when we know there’s a new show (supposedly, but hopefully) coming out that centres around her. Stop saying her and Jayce’s relationship(which was canon🤨) was only to hide Jayce’s attraction for Viktor

(which doesn’t make sense when Vi and Cait are dating and Cait is the daughter of a council member(and we know the only issue Cait’s parents had with Vi was the fact that she was a Zaunite, not the fact that she was a woman) so I doubt there much homophobia in Piltover. But to be fair we don’t really see much discrimination in the show outside of classism. Unless, there are and I just can’t remember.) (because then you’re also insinuating that Jayce is only with Mel for her connections with the council and all those rich people)

Obviously, as a black girl myself, I am biased, but seeing someone that looks like me getting dragged through the mud for something so blatant (racism) has been stressing me out. Mel wasn’t a bad person, her intentions were good, her execution was kind of flawed, but she loved Jayce anyway so i don’t know why y’all care so much. So many other posts have explained how/why Jayce and Mel’s relationship was love and deep so I’m not going to.

Im not going to argue with people, so if u have anything to say go argue with a wall or something idk 🫶🏽.

I’m actually starting to hate meljay the ship, their fans have got to be some of the most annoying insufferable groups of people. Not for nothing, y’all need to start writing and drawing for your own ship, and leave the rest of us alone,
