a little concert idea rambling session-
idea: a meiko or kaito centered concert for their 20th anniversary. the entire track list are songs in their release order. if this were a thing i executed, that would include covers. so 2008 would be nostalogic, 2009 would be change me, but then 2010 might be calc or secret police. each song representing each year until we hit the 20th anniversary mark. Another catch: cover contributors could only use their V1s for songs that predate their V3s. so if the cover contributor picked tell your world (2012) they'd have to use meiko / kaito v1, since their v3s were released in 2014 / 2013 respectively.
pros: - i think it's a neat idea - good diversity and potentially a fun challenge for cover creators - it's a particularly good fit for Kaito, seeing as he is like. the king of having covers of other character's songs. - it would only really work for meiko or kaito, because they have a small number of original songs with motions. Characters like len / rin / gumi / flower would have enough motions for originals that you could make a full concert, where as characters like piko / seeu / fukase have so FEW motions it would be basically all covers.
cons: - No motions exist for songs older than 2007, so there would be a 3 year gap for meiko and a 1 year gap for kaito - Even with the gap.. that's a lotta songs. kinda long for an online concert. if we're averaging each song at around 4 minutes, that's 76 minutes for kaito and 68 minutes for meiko. for perspective, nico cho parties generally last about 40-50 minutes and the plps have both hit just above 50 minutes
if u got this far u should give me ur thoughts on this matter because i am steadily rotating it in my brain whenever i have a free moment.
#valkris says shit#i guess bc the gap for kaito is smaller it would be easier to do him#especially since he also has more motions for original songs#by my loose count kaito has 18 and meiko has 11#and a lot of meiko's are around the same time while kaito at least has a few newer originals with motions#ALSO??? it's interesting how for a long time vocaloid songs were averaging that 4-5 minute mark for the “full versions”#but now it's really common for them to be like. 2-3 minutes??#surii's early vocaloid career was him just doin 1 minute bangers for a while and then making a “long ver” that's still barely 3 minutes#the times are changing mates

How old are the Virtual Singers?
Depends on the Sekai. Like with vocaloid music every version is a different interpretation of the character with different personality/age/etc.
In School Sekai they’re all high schoolers. The Kagamines are 1st years (16), Miku is a 2nd year (17), and Kaito, Meiko, and Luka are 3rd years (18). You can work it out based on how they and Leoneed refer to each other.
In Stage Sekai their ages are more vague, but again Kaito/Meiko/Luka are meant to be a bit older. The ages in this Sekai probably range from teens-20s.
In Street Sekai again Kaito/Meiko/Luka are older, but seem older than in the other Sekai, especially since Meiko is based off of Ken who is in his 40s (I’m not saying she’s exactly his age, but she acts as a motherly figure to VBS a lot of the time). Miku is treated as the same age range as VBS based on how they refer to her, and the Kagamines act a bit younger, so they’re probably close-ish to their official age of 14.
Wonderland Sekai is also pretty vague. Kaito says he thinks Miku is younger than Emu (16 at the time), and Emu refers to Kaito as an older brother figure and Meiko and Luka as older sister figures (on JP she calls them Kaito-onii-san and Meiko/Luka-onee-san), but that’s about it.
Empty Sekai is probably the most vague. Len acts younger in this Sekai and the artists dress him in younger-looking clothes in cards on purpose. Miku is derived a bit from Mafuyu, and was created as an emotional support for her, so she’s probably somewhere around her age (though I think she could be read as younger as well). I read Kaito/Meiko/Luka as a bit older again but I think it depends on the person tbh.
Ultimately aside from School Sekai you can’t pinpoint their exact ages and it’s entirely up to interpretation.

I was studying and gave myself a "be stupid" break, remembered the shinonomes singing odo drunkily audio and here I am
First one is what kind of drunk they are vs how much does it take to get them there
Akito and Ena are based of the video where Ena is tipsy and Akito is. Uh. Very. Drunk so i gave her a bigger resistance and built the rest around that.
(age them up to a drinking age i do not condone underage drinking, like idk 18 probably in Japan)
Also for the vocaloids, Meiko does not get drunk, Miku is a lightweight, so is Kaito, Luka is normal and the twins are both lightweight.

Note
i trust you on everything miku related, what is the deal with miku's age, i see people either saying she's perma 16 or that isnt canon anymore, or that it changes depending on song/depiction?
So yes Miku's official age from CFM is 16 years old. However due to Miku's blank slate nature, She often gets depicted as older, She's often singing about more 'adult' topics, She's often smoking cigarettes or drinking beer even! Miku can do whatever it is you need Her to do and be whatever it is you need Her to be, so while She is 16 according to CFM, it's kind of arbitrary.
So I kinda roll my eyes when someone is commenting "erm Miku is 16 your pedo freaks" on like, Miku in a bunny suit. I find it to be disgenuous and virtue signaling, and divorced from any legit concern about sexualizing minors and more just a kneejerk disgust reaction. As if these people would suddenly be totally A-Ok with suggestive art of Miku if her official age was 18 or even older. Probably not.
Like I recently learned that Kaito and Meiko straight up do not have official ages, and are sometimes portrayed as teenagers around Miku's age or adults in their freaking forties. Like, do vocaloids have ages or not?
I kinda think it's better to just think of Miku as a timeless digital entity, which she is of course.

desi vocaloid series pt. 3: kaito!!
let’s be real, he’s already wearing a long tunic and a scarf in his original design. so, this time, he gets an elegant sherwani and a blue shawl, complete with gold accents of course.
since he’s one of the first vocaloid voicebanks, and vocaloid is also celebrating its 20 year anniversary in 2024, I designed i’m to look more mature (as everyone older than 18 are hags anyway—)(please don’t come at me i’m the same age as vocaloid too😭) this is why I added the pronounced brows, facial wrinkles, and gray hair streaks. I was also contemplating giving him facial hair but i ended up not doing so to keep it closer to the original.
this series is fun and stressful at the same time lmao, I’ll probably do either meiko or gumi next, because I already have some ideas to build upon for them. i also have a couple ideas for vflower, but we will have to wait and see :)

- Tsukasa has cameos with 11 different characters, Emu with 16, Nene with 13, and Rui with 12.
- Tsukasa is losing to Nene and Rui despite being more social than them, which is a neat and subtle nod to the fact that he is annoying and most people who haven’t built up a tolerance to him probably do not want to be near him in a card.
- Tsukasa and Nene have never had a card cameo with a member of MMJ. Rui has never had a card cameo with a member of L/N. Emu has a cameo with every unit.
- Tsukasa shares the spotlight of his cards with Rui over 2x more than he does with other characters, and the same is true with Emu wrt Nene.
- Nene will not share the spotlight of her cards with anyone but close friends apparently, but she will show up in the most random character’s cards.
- there are a lot of full unit cameos: Nene’s trained dazzling lights card and untrained mermaid card, Emu’s untrained island panic card, Rui’s trained and untrained fragment sekai card and his wonder halloween card, Tsukasa’s WMS card. (Outside of WxS members, there’s Meiko’s OHE card).
- 1 on 1 cards where both characters are clearly in frame are rarer (as in, their full head is visible) (I’m only going to list cards with two wxs members for brevity’s sake):
- Tsukasa and Emu: 2 out of 5 (emu’s untrained wonder halloween 3* and untrained popping in my heart 4*)
- Tsukasa and Nene: 1 out of 8 (nene’s untrained new years 3*)
- Tsukasa and Rui: 7 out of 13 (Tsukasa’s untrained dollfes 4*, Rui’s untrained picnic 3*, Tsukasa’s untrained RMD 3*, Rui’s untrained phoenix 3*, Tsukasa’s untrained pandemonium 4*, Tsukasa’s untrained hello good day 4*, Tsukasa’s untrained BLF 3*)
- Emu and Nene: 9 out of 15 (Emu’s trained initial 3*, Nene’s untrained WMS 4*, Nene’s untrained dazzling lights 4*, Nene’s untrained island panic 4*, Emu’s untrained cg/o 4*, Nene’s untrained curtain call 4*, Emu’s untrained gleaming stars 4*, Nene’s untrained and trained OHE 4*)
- Emu and Rui: 0
- Nene and Rui: 0
- the cutoff for what’s considered a cameo seems to be “anything that allows you to identify the character without reading the story.”
- Nene’s hair and costume (along with her arm) are visible in Rui’s trained on this holy night card, and Saki’s sleeves are visible in Emu’s untrained precious memories card. Both of these count as a cameo.
- a very blurry Rui + Nene show up in Ena’s untrained picnic card, and a very blurry Nene is next to Rui in his untrained RMD card. Both of these count as cameos.
- A hand holding a phone does not count as a cameo - Emu is holding the phone in Miku’s untrained sports festival card, and Nene is holding the phone in Rui’s untrained canary card, but neither of these count as a cameo.
- representations of wxs do not count.
- there are three animals meant to represent emu/nene/rui in lens trained gleaming stars 4*, which don’t count
- there’s a squirrel and monkey meant to represent nene and emu in Rui’s trained picnic 3* (and the mechanical monkey is probably tsukasa), which don’t count
- the cat that represented Rui in wonder halloween does not count as a Rui cameo. It shows up a lot though. I think it just likes attention.
- The robots rui modified to look like tsukasa and emu in his on this holy night 3* don’t count. This would probably bring up the question of “does nenerobo count as a nene cameo?” To which I say no. that thing has a soul.
- other examples that don’t count (that more closely resemble the actual character): emu’s drawing of tsukasa in her untrained initial 3*, Rui’s balloon tsukasa in his trained SOAD 4*, the little wxs on a log meiko has in her trained this holy night card, the poster of what is probably tsukasa in nene’s untrained fragment sekai card.
#mine#tsukasa#rui#emu#nene#analysis#sure. why not.#if my counting is wrong... it’s like that sometimes.

The profile cards for WonderlandsxShowtime's first live feature short interviews, with MEIKO and Len asking the members what their most memorable moments have been so far.
Tsukasa picks his performance as Torpe in the show Torpe the Pianist (On the stage of dazzling light), because it was the first time he played a character who was the complete opposite of him, but he found that if he perseveres, he can find a way to connect to the character.
Emu starts to list off moments from all of their shows. Before getting cut off, she mentions when it started snowing during A Merry Christmas (otherwise known as Smiling Christmas) (On A Holy Night, This Singing Voice), and the Night Show which made everyone in the park smile (Wonder Magical Showtime!).
Nene picks her ad-libbed performance from The Adventures of the Mermaid Prince and Mermaid Princesses (Mesmerised by Mermaids). Although she was nervous, she was able to save the show with her singing, and even got praised by her idol.
Rui picks The Travelling Troupe (otherwise known as Pegasus Odyssey) (Main story chapter 18). Despite him not being a part of WxS at the time, it was the show that Tsukasa, Emu and Nene performed to get him to join, and it marked the start of their journey together.
Question for all: What has been the most memorable scene in a show so far?
Member 01: Tsukasa Tenma
Tsukasa: Hmm. It's hard to pick just one scene. After all, I put my all into every show! MEIKO: Indeed, you always pitch with all your might, don't you! T: Yeah. Although... Let's see... The first show that comes to mind is Torpe the Pianist. M: That play was wonderful! Your performance also had a different feel to it than normal. T: Mhm. I learnt from that role that even if a character seems to be the complete opposite of me, I will be able to understand them if I persevere. M: Being able to play someone different from you is one of the best things about acting! T: Yeah! I wonder what sort of role awaits me next... I'm looking forward to playing it already!
Member comment: I hope you enjoy the story we're telling!
Member 02: Emu Otori
Emu: Mmm~, there was the time when it snowed during the Christmas show! That was super Wonderhoy... Len: It was amazing! It was like the sky saw everyone's show and decided to help us out! (Translator note: I don't think this is translated correctly) E: Yeah, yeah☆ Also, there was the story about the wizard from the Night Show! The magic of smiles made the park light up and sparkle... hehe, I still smile even when I look back on it now ♪ And then there was- L: Ah, Emu-chan... it's almost time to go... E: Eeeh, already~!? I wanted to tell everyone about all our shows so far~! L: Y-you were going to tell us about everything!?
Member comment: Let's go on a Wonderhoy adventure together!
Member 03: Nene Kusanagi
Nene: A scene that left an impression on me... I have to say my ad-libbing during The Mermaid Prince, even though it wasn't in the original script. MEIKO: The show we did at the beach. You ran into a problem and had to solve it, right? N: Yes. I was a bit nervous... but my singing was able to help. M: You were able to turn the disaster around! N: I guess so. ...Thanks to that, I got some nice words from the person I admire. M: Hehe. Well, if anything happens again, maybe something good will come of it as well! N: I-I don't want that much trouble...
Member comment: I'd be happy if I could sing a memorable song.
Member 04: Rui Kamishiro
Rui: Well, I would like to say a scene from a show that I directed myself, but actually the scene that left the biggest impression on me is something else. Len: Really? R: Yes. If I had to pick one scene, it would be the scene where a lonely alchemist is invited to join a travelling theatre troupe. L: What show was that? R: Before we formed WonderlandsxShowtime, Tsukasa-kun and the others created that show to get me to join them. L: Eeeh~, so it's the show that started it all for you guys? R: Yeah, that's the moment when our journey began... I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that.
Member comment: Let's surprise everyone with the performance we've prepared for today
