Major Rune Factory ramble and rant to get it off my system before 2024 ends.
This is just me airing out some dirty Rune Factory laundry before the year ends so I can get it off my chest and start a new, as Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma comes up. It'll be one big tl;dr so if you don't wanna read then you are far from obliged to do so but if you want, then sure thing.
I wanted to write something sincere and honest that isn't just a jab meme with a predictable punchline.
Really, this is just me speaking aloud not just about Rune Factory but about the nature of writing in farm sims. I dunno. It's the last day of 2024. I've done my New Years cleaning and I'm bored.
So, RF fans and by extension, Bokujo fans keeping saying "We need Rromanceable MILFs" but I think they just mean more bachelorettes in Rune Factory that visibly not just look but also behave like adults.
I'm aware short / young looking / petite adults exist too (Xiao Pai in 4 looks visibly young but she constantly makes it a point to Lest that she's their senior while they're dating) and that younger players may also get into the series for the first time but let's not forget the series' history so we can learn and observe how it can evolve and progress in the future. It's easy to forget that Rune Factory used to pander to otaku in Japan long before they realized it had a huge market with female players and an international audience.
Granted, RF1-RF2 were very tame and the latter game I remember attracting a lot of fanart of the male characters and it sowed the seeds for an interest in potential bachelors. Which is a sharp contrast to Rune Factory Frontier, which up its tropes like a trashy 2000s harem romcom anime with features that wouldn't fly well today e.g. choosing to "accidentally" walk in or peep on the bachelorettes' changing room by the beachside or the discourse surrounding Eunice's story arc but that's another can of worms unrelated to this post. The Rune Factory 4 manga that was published in Dengeki Maoh back in 2012 had a lot of skeevy fanservice that would not align well with the series image nowadays.
"But it's in anime style, so female characters will look young by default" It's true. Especially with Minako Iwasaki as the artist, as much as I love her art. But that's not always the case. Fire Emblem mainlines or Hoyoverse gacha games (Genshin, Honkai Impact 3rd, Honkai Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero) can and have designed adult female characters who visibly look and act like adults. (just posting Ruan Mei from HSR and Shamir from FE:3H as examples) And not just their designs or mannerisms either, I mean like... more heavier, hard hitting and mature storylines. I feel like 5 lacked it in that department compared to the feels coasters that were the marriage candidate sub events in RF4. But then again, it's probably weird to be asking for a revenge story or a tale of redemption and loss in a fantasy farm life sim but this is just me rambling on.
I don't want to say I've "outgrown" Rune Factory or anything. Cozy life sim games are such a comfort to me and I'm well aware a meme I posted then deleted yesterday resonated a misleading message but knowing 5 gave men likers Murakumo but kept Misasagi or Elsje off limits was weird.
I know 5 was just one entry in the series. I know bachelor and bachelorette rosters are variable depending on the game. Tides had a wide variety of designs while its bachelors fell flat because they were last minute. I personally felt like 5 had far more better designed bachelors than 4 did and 4's bachelorettes felt more balanced compared to 5.RF GoA and RF6 could turn out differently with their own sets of marriage candidates but the problem with RF5 was that they designed and wrote bachelorettes as if it was a game released in the late 2000s and early 2010s in 2021-2022.
RF Guardians of Azuma releases next year and RF6 will presumably align with the series' 20th anniversary window in 2026 so we'll see how the series. I know romance and marriage aren't the only things that define Rune Factory games but I feel people should be more open to discussing what makes them uncomfortable with the series instead of handwaving it because of X or Y.
I go on benders like this because I grew up with Rune Factory as the title that introduced me to cozy life sims. It has a special place in my heart. I was in high school when I first got into the series but even then I could tell that the candidates looking young may have had nothing to do with my age, probably due to a combination of artstyle and who Marvelous/Neverland were pandering to at the time.
Granted, my experience getting into the series won't be 1:1 with others so I can't speak for them and hell, maybe I'm wrong too but I do feel like "hey, maybe put more effort into the series' female characters" shouldn't be a hot take that can be dismissed with it being a cozy life sim or that kids play these games too.
That being said, I still haven't and will never forgive the garbage writing they gave Xiao Pai in her main marriage proposal event. RF4 treats her pretty horribly and it's always kinda weird when I read people going on about how "we should have married Lin Fa and adopted Xiao Pai instead" when in her romantic dialogue, she's brought up how she's older than Lest (in the JP script, she specifies by two years) which brings me to my next point....
I think ultimately it also has to do with the fact that the characters we play as in Rune Factory are pretty young themselves. In games like Potion Permit, the My Time At games, Fields of Mistria, Sun Haven, and Stardew Valley, we are blank slates we can easily customize to our liking with our headcanons and whatnot.
Rune Factory... the self inserting begins and ends once we choose a name for our protagonists. RF protagonists are usually their own characters and any dialogue choice prompt we are given with them aligns with their base personality.
Raguna was pretty "vanilla" in RF1 but had shades of 2000s harem romcom protag vibes in Frontier. Kyle in RF2 was more or less similar to RF1 Raguna imho. Aaron and Aria played the role of precarious and rowdy kids seeking to go save their father. Micah in RF3 comes off as a mild-mannered but somewhat deadpan snarker in the face of Sharance and the Univir Settlement's antics. RF4's Lest and Frey are defined by their devotion, trust, and loyalty to their friends. RF5's Alice and Ares have this air of skepticism and caution that I haven't really seen with Lest or Frey. Aden is the reckless, hotheaded shonen hero with his childhood friend, Sonja, as the fussy but well-intentional voice of reason in Tides/Oceans. A lot of male protags in RF are written to be "boyish" and "inexperienced" hence why older adults in these towns don't seem like immediate options but Ares can also marry Murakumo and Lucas so really, at this point I probably shouldn't think too hard about it.
I don't really have anything else to say aside that I like cozy life sims a bit too much and Fields of Mistria is a blast so far. I think Celine, Reina, and Valen are my favorite bachelorettes so far but I like all the bachelors and bachelorettes really. I really do think Olric will be added as a post-release bachelor in an update or patch after the full thing comes out.
Thanks for coming to my TED Talk. Here's to 2025 and more Rune Factory games to come.

LMK Heirs AU
P much it’s an AU built around my off-on hatred for Guanyin and how the pilgrims handled Red Son in JTTW (which iirc there were in-world consequences for but I’m too attached to Red to not want to give him a better fate than getting stabbed and taken away from his parents)
Tl;dr of it is that after the Journey was a success, everyone (the Demon Bull family, Ao Lie’s family, the pilgrims, and Wukong’s troop from FFM + Macaque) all live happily in Tianlong Palace. The heirs (Red, LXJ, QXT) live out peaceful lives with everything they could ever ask for.
Not S3 or S4 compliant since me & my friends wrote this pre S3’s CN release
There are some other changes for some chars.
Macaque
He didn’t die!!!!!
When he went to confront SWK + the Pilgrims, he didn’t get murdered after being stopped at the Buddha’s Monastery and instead Guanyin gave him some cursed Bling
Said cursed Bling, by SWK’s request, only activates if Macaque tries to attack him and even then he’ll only go boneless
After that he was sent back to FFM to protect Wukong’s troop
Once the pilgrimage was done and the palace everyone lives at got established (Tianlong Palace), Guanyin named his as SWK’s guardian and said that if he protects SWK for a full five centuries then he’ll be free of his Bling
He’s salty ofc but he isn’t really mad-mad at SWK abt the whole ‘you abandoned me for this?’ thing because it got explained to him civilly
Mei / Long Xiaojiao
Born waaaaaaaay earlier to match the others
More dragon than human for this AU, so dragon tale and horns and all that good stuff. It also means she’s marginally more powerful than she was in S1 and S2 but not quite S3’s True Samadhi Fire power up
Because she’s closer in lineage to Ao Lie (WHO IS SO BABEY???), she’s Ao Xiaojiao (but still Mei otherwise, 100% named by Ao Lie)
More natural direction + utilization of dragon powers w/o the sword, trained by Ao Lie & his brothers
MK / Qi Xiaotian
Not really sure why he’s here actually, I never thought that far??? I know there’s something abt him being a baby stone Monkie in S4 so maybe that??
Like Mei/Xiaojiao, he’s Sun Xiaotian :muscle: and also has a more innate connection with the Monkey King powers (but no staff, RJB is still w SWK)
MONKIE TAIL
Miscellaneous
the Pilgrims have a mix of like Tang, Pigsy, & Sandy’s personality and OSP’s representation of them
Red Son/Hong Hai’er has the True Fire still because S3 wasn’t out back when I wrote this but it also might be split? Acc to a personal headcanon of mine + my close friend, he and Mei have the Positive and Negatively True Fire respectively which connects them On A Different Level
Plot is essentially that the Pilgrims get antsy staying for too long & go Journeying To The West for a while, DBK + PIF are handling an issue on the east coast, and Mei’s parents are visiting Lie’s family. While the palace is left to MK, Mei, and Red (and a reluctant bodyguard Macaque), shit gets real while they’re away (like corrupt ‘ministers’ and wrongly imprisoned monkey men, etc)

In the year 2473, humanity had reached the stars, and with it came the unearthing of countless lost histories and forgotten empires. Among the most fascinating discoveries was an ancient, digital archive known as the "Celestial Chronicles." Within these chronicles lay the tale of Zhao Rukuo, a remarkable figure whose existence had been lost to time.
The galaxy was at peace, governed by a coalition of planets united under the banner of the Interstellar Federation. Yet, amidst this vast expanse, on the distant planet of Yinxing, an enigmatic figure stood at the center of an unfolding mystery.
She was known as Xiu Mei, a name that echoed through the cherry blossom fields of her homeworld. With long, flowing black hair and a pale, delicate complexion, she carried an air of timeless grace. Her attire was a blend of ancient elegance and futuristic armor, intricately patterned with golden designs that seemed to pulse with energy. The petals from the blooming cherry blossoms swirled around her, dancing in the gentle breeze.
Xiu Mei was more than just a warrior; she was the guardian of Yinxing, a planet known for its beauty and tranquility. But recently, she had sensed a disturbance, an anomaly that threatened the very fabric of her world. Guided by an ancient artifact, a relic passed down through generations, she embarked on a journey to uncover the truth.
The artifact, a small, ornate device, once belonged to Zhao Rukuo, a historical figure revered in the Celestial Chronicles. Zhao Rukuo was a scholar and explorer from the Song Dynasty, known for his extensive writings on the wonders of the world. His knowledge had now transcended time, preserved in the digital archives of the Interstellar Federation.
As Xiu Mei ventured deeper into the uncharted territories of Yinxing, she discovered a hidden temple, its entrance guarded by intricate mechanisms and ancient scripts. The temple was said to hold the secrets of Zhao Rukuo, secrets that could unlock untold powers and knowledge.
Inside the temple, Xiu Mei encountered holographic projections of Zhao Rukuo, who appeared as a guiding spirit. He spoke of a celestial threat, a dark force that had been dormant for centuries but was now awakening. This force, known as the "Oblivion Wave," was capable of consuming entire planets, leaving nothing but void in its wake.
Zhao Rukuo had foreseen this catastrophe and had hidden the means to counter it within the temple. With his guidance, Xiu Mei activated the ancient mechanisms, revealing a hidden chamber filled with advanced technology and mystical artifacts. Among them was the "Stellar Conduit," a device capable of harnessing the energy of stars to create powerful defensive barriers.
With the Stellar Conduit in hand, Xiu Mei returned to her people, rallying them to prepare for the impending threat. As the Oblivion Wave approached Yinxing, she stood at the forefront, her presence a beacon of hope and strength. Using the Stellar Conduit, she formed a protective shield around the planet, channeling the energy of nearby stars.
The battle was fierce, but with Zhao Rukuo's knowledge and Xiu Mei's unwavering determination, Yinxing stood resilient. The Oblivion Wave was repelled, its dark energy dissipating into the cosmos. The people of Yinxing celebrated their victory, their hearts filled with gratitude for their guardian and the ancient scholar who had guided her.
Xiu Mei, now revered as a hero, continued to protect her world, her story forever intertwined with that of Zhao Rukuo. Together, they had bridged the past and the future, ensuring the safety of their world and preserving the legacy of their shared history.
And so, the tale of Xiu Mei and Zhao Rukuo became a legend within the Celestial Chronicles, a testament to the enduring power of knowledge, bravery, and the timeless bond between the past and the future.

"My Neighbor Totoro": A Triumphant Trio of Whimsical Wonders
Welcome, on this post we’ll be in the heart of one of Studio Ghibli's enchanting masterpieces, "My Neighbor Totoro," specifically i want to rant a little about three captivating characters that have completely stolen the spotlight and adoration of hundred of followers, each of them contribute to the film's magical feeling in a unique and unforgettable way.
Totoro: Guardian of Joyful Innocence
At the core of this whimsical tale stands Totoro, the gentle guardian spirit of the forest. We get to know him when Mei falls into a hole from a massive tree, home of the iconic fluffy creature that with his grin and endearing gestures becomes a beacon of joy and innocence. Through the lens of childhood wonder, Totoro symbolizes the magic that exists when one embraces curiosity and the natural world while also becoming a comforting presence in our minds, encouraging us to embrace our inner child.
Dust Bunnies (Susuwatari): Mischievous Sprites of Sooty Charm
Even if they’re hiding in the corners or shadows, the mischievous dust bunnies, or Susuwatari, playfully dance their way into our hearts. Of course their tiny playful presence adds a touch of charm and mystery, and beyond their whimsical antics, these soot sprites can symbolize the unseen enchantment that surrounds us, encouraging us to find joy in the simplest of moments or places… to be honest, I would love to find these friends when cleaning my room instead of some spiders.
Cat Bus: Feline Whiskers and Magical Wheels
Rolling in with furry charm and magical wheels, the eight legged Cat Bus is more than a whimsical mode of transportation. With its wide grin and flexible feline features, the Cat Bus becomes a soft living bridge between reality and fantasy. Symbolizing the boundless nature of imagination, the Cat Bus whisks characters away on adventures, embodying the idea that the journey is as important as the destination. Its presence adds a layer of delightful unpredictability to the narrative.
Together, Totoro, the dust bunnies, and the Cat Bus create a triumphant trio, each contributing to the film's enduring charm. Their unified presence not only enriches the narrative but also leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of viewers, turning "My Neighbor Totoro" into a timeless celebration of friendship, imagination, and the magic found in the world around us.
Mayte Alarcón
PD: I tried to add some photos... but i fear the technology won over again ;(

fuck you *warrior cat-ifies ur gay lego monkies*
i dont know why they were so easy to turn into warrior cats. truly it should not have been this easy. and yet... i already have an entire fucking plotline in my brain, ugh
blame this line: “Have you been running around with OTHER MENTORS?!” (vid linked)
yep! it’s Lego Monkie Kid but as Warrior Cats! i feel like their warrior names are pretty self explanatory lmao (Monkey King + Sun Wukong; shadow monkey + Six-Eared Macaque). but wait, you scream, MKpaw???? thats not a warrior name!!!
simpletons. in this AU, the legendary clans are distant history, long forgotten tales told to kits. so then why do they have warrior names? because Wukong (Monkeysun) and Macaque (Shadowear) were both born into the clans, and remain one of the few survivors of it. MK is a kittypet (or stray cat) who is enraptured by the tales of clancats that his friend-slash-father-figure Tang tells him. said stories involve a certain “long-tailed cat” named Monkeysun, the warrior who “stole the stars” and “lived forever.”
yep! Monkeysun stole the stars. Literally. Because in LMK everything is literal. Well, literal-ish. By stars, I mean the powers of StarClan granting lives. That’s how Monkeysun gained immortality in this AU - instead of stealing peaches, wine, and pills, he broke the Moonpool and granted himself a million lives. of course, this meant leaders could no longer gain their nine lives, and, understandably, many cats were upset, so of course, using what power they had left, the leader of StarClan (the Jade Emperor) buried Monkeypaw (he was an apprentice at the time) underneath the earth, in the tunnels, where he would roam and starve forever until all of his lives were gone.
course, that didnt happen, and Monkeypaw was freed to journey alongside the monk Tripitaki, who would be like a guardian cat or Sisters equivalent I suppose, and he and the other gang would partake in a journey to the west/sundrown place to find Buddha (a Rock or Midnight equivalent figure). why do the take the journey in this AU? honestly idk lmao.
anyway! what about Shadowear?? well, Monkeysun (who earns that name from Tripitaki) kills him when Shadowear attempts to kill Tripitaki, but! Even tho the power of the stars are gone, the Dark Forest still lurks, and the Lady Bone Demon (prob called Bonestar, formerly Bonelily or smthn) uses her powers to give Shadowear a life, resurrecting him, so long as he follows her rules...
similarly, the Mayor is able to possess cats like Ashfur, and wants to grant the power to his Lady but he needs to free her first, which is Shadowear’s purpose (it’ll have something to do with the Moonpool probably)
so flash forward to the present and MK finds Monkeysun’s stick (bcus of COURSE its a stick in this au lmao) and becomes his apprentice, training in the way of the warriors. Mei, ofc, joins him, and Pigsy is against it, while Tang is in awe. And Sandy’s supportive but wary with his own dark history (coughgangcatcoughBloodClancough). also yep Pigsy, Tang, and Sandy are still reincarnations, and Mei has the “dragon” ancestry still (the Samadhi fire stuff i dont have figured out yet, though it might be some magic Moonpool stuff instead maybe - oh also Nezha is the guardian of the Moonpool now, and maybe Chang’e is the guardian of the Moonstone? and DBK lives in the mountains and therefore guards the Tribe’s magic cave thing?)
also here’s some warrior names that wouldnt technically be canon to this au:
Pigsy -> Pigflower (why flower? because he cooks, and flowers are like herbs)
Pigsy’s first life/Zhu Bajie -> Boarbelly (bcus he eats people)
Sandy -> Bluesand (do i need to explain this one? not sure what JTTW Sandy/Sha Wujing’s name would be tho)
Tang -> Goldenshine or Brightshine or similar (once again not sure what his OG/Tripitaki’s name would be - maybe Goldensun to parallel Monkeysun?)
Mei -> Dragonblaze (”but Dragon isn’t-” FINE, Lizardblaze)
Ao Lie/White Horse Dragon -> ...Whitehorse? or Whiteflash
Demon Bull King -> Bullfang
Princess Iron Fan -> Windstorm, Windstream, Windbreeze, Breezestorm, etc.
Red Son -> Redflame
Nezha -> Ringfire, Lotusfire or Lotusheart
#posting on main but rbing to my waca blog cause i dont have a lmk blog lmao#warrior cats#lego monkie kid#lego monkie kid au#lego monkey king#lego monkie king#monkie kid#monkey king#sun wukong#journey to the west#six-eared macaque#macaque#shadowpeach#peachbuds#lmk au#lmk wc au#lmk waca au#lmk mk#qi xiaotian#rumble and savage#lmk wukong#wukong#macaque and wukong#wukong and macaque#wukong x macaque

anonymous: Am I the only one who really doesn’t like that Meatbun chose to make a member of a brutalized race the villain? I feel like it feeds into that message of revolutionaries who want justice being doomed to be corrupted by the power getting to their heads and turn into evil tyrants.
This is an interesting question anon! Thank you for this ask.
First of all, I understand completely where you’re coming from. I’m always iffy when a main antagonist is a member of a brutalized, discriminated race whose ultimate goal is to get his/her people to safety. I don’t, as a general rule, sit very comfortably with the antagonist being someone who wants to end discrimination based on race against his/her people, or any people. Like, nope. I’m also extremely leery of that message of “revolutionaries who want social justice go bad”, and my wariness toward seeing a main antagonist with the motivation of ending some kind of oppression is an extension of that. 2ha, to a certain degree, does press those buttons, because just the fact of a member of an oppressed people being in an antagonistic position is... meh. I wish we’d at least seen the perspective of a non-villainous Butterfly-Boned Beauty Feast. (Of course, this is just personal taste - others might not feel the same way.)
However! There’s a reason why that doesn’t turn me off from the story. I would really dislike it if Meatbun made out Shi Mei’s desire to save his people as a bad thing, or if she had that desire gradually be warped into something less sympathetic - say, an appetite for destruction and vengeance. But she didn’t do either of those things, not at all. Although she rightfully condemns the damage he did to innocent people because of that desire, the desire itself is painted in a very sympathetic light. I would go as far as to say that the fact that Hua Binan’s resolve to end the oppression of his people was truly a good thing is why Meatbun gives him such a peaceful send-off despite the many terrible things he’s done. I mean, it’s not peaceful in-universe, since he’s literally squashed, but it’s a dignified death. He’s not crying, or screaming, or having a Villainous Breakdown over the fact that he has to die. Instead he’s... unhesitant in literally defying cosmic laws so that his people can get to safety, and the text is comparing his actions to that of his mother, who sacrificed her life to give him time to escape. (Off on a tangent, but I cannot help but laugh disbelievingly every time I reread Hua Binan’s death. Like, this man said, “Hey guys, I’m going to fight the demon guardian upholding a law of the universe, hold on a minute.” No consideration, no weighing of options, no nothing. Just “That’s what I’m gonna do then!” I mentioned in another post that despite his villainy I cannot help but respect the sheer audacity that Shi Mei has, and... yeah, I’m going to have to admit that the actions Hua Binan took leading up to his death display that same audacity.)
If I was choosing something to contrast the narrative tone of Hua Binan’s death with, I’d bring up Yagami Light, from Death Note. (I’m sticking to manga canon here, not anime.) He’s absolutely losing his composure, unable to face the fact that he’s been defeated and he has to die, and is crawling all over the ground desperately for a way to save himself. He then proceeds to start begging Ryuk to help him, and goes completely ballistic when Ryuk instead writes his name in his Death Note.
Hua Binan goes in almost the exact opposite fashion; he is not losing his composure, he’s unflinching at the knowledge that these actions mean his own death, and he’s not trying to save himself - he’s giving his life to save the other Butterfly-Boned Beauty Feasts. I mean, he literally keeps holding on despite being in enormous pain to make sure everyone gets through! At no point during his death does the text say or imply that he regrets sacrificing himself for the other Butterfly-Boned Beauty Feasts. I also really like how there is no thought in his mind as he’s being crushed that isn’t related to his people - most notably there’s nothing about Chu Wanning, whom he is supposedly in love with. I think it’s driving in that Hua Binan’s ultimate priority, despite what kind of feelings he might have towards anyone else, has always been his people. Nothing else will ever matter to him as much as his goal to get the Butterfly-Boned Beauty Feasts to safety. (Although, mind you, that’s not necessarily a good thing - just look at all the devastation and death he caused in pursuit of that goal.) And like I said, I think that by giving him a heroic death, Meatbun was respecting that, if nothing else, his determination to stop the suffering of his brutalized people was truly genuine, and truly commendable.
That’s what sets this apart, for me, from the message, “Revolutionaries who want to overturn deep-rooted social injustices will go bad because they are corrupted by the power they have.” Hua Binan is not corrupted by power! His desire to save his people never changes, it’s never gradually distorted into something megalomaniacal the way that “cautionary tales” warn us will happen to revolutionaries. It is not the warping of his goal to end an injustice that makes him a villain - because that remains pure and unchanging, from start to finish. Rather, it’s the amount of innocent people he hurt and killed to achieve that goal. The fact that he perpetuates a cycle of abuse - dehumanization and brutalization is what he and his people suffer, and he responds in kind, by creating and executing a master plan hinged on dehumanizing and brutalizing others. That’s what Meatbun is condemning him for, and that’s why he’s the villain. And I really appreciate that she, in my opinion, makes it very clear that his goal itself was and remains a good thing. As mentioned above, the way I see it, the relative dignity of Hua Binan’s death was an acknowledgement the fact that there was nothing inherently wrong with his desire to save his people, that it was in fact a heroic desire. Because of that nuance, I’m not as put off as I usually am at the idea of the main villain being the member of an oppressed race, and I think Meatbun avoided the “cautionary tale” trope of having a revolutionary seeking justice becoming warped with power.

Uh Kip, idk if this is to much to ask but a list of some npcs for Zora'd Domain? I don't need a complete list, maybe just some major ones like the ones that were friends with him from 100 year ago, ones that hate him, and a few children? If you could do a few sentences on them, like appearance, location, other stuff, etc.
List of Every Zora NPC in Zora’s Domain
**so note that this list does not include Zoras in different parts of Hyrule, such as Tarry Town
Children:
Laruta - Part of the Sidon Fan Club. Memorized the song from the Champion Festival and loves to sing.
Tumbo - Likes Hot-footed frogs. His mom, Mei, catches fish to be sold at the general store
[A lot more under the cut!]
Keye - Brother to Tumbo. More shy and introverted compared to his brother
Finley - Currently dating the Hylian Sasan. Despite being 20 years old, her growth spurt hasn’t kicked in and she’s still quite small. Daughter of Kodah and Kayden. Her dating life is super iffy
Elderly:
Jiahto - Keeper of the stone Zora Inscriptions. Grateful and thankful to Link for helping to find all the inscriptions, and plans to include a new contribution to the collection with Link’s heroic tales
Dento - Grandfather to Marot. Works as a blacksmith. Celebrated the birth of King Dorephan’s first born child by crafting the Lightscale Trident as a gift
King Dorephan - King of the Zoras. Father to Mipha and Sidon. Has a scar on his face from the time he fought a Guardian with his bare hands and chucked it off a cliff.
Trello - used to be a part of the Zora Guard before retiring. Now leads the Champion Festival to honor Mipha, and is seen wielding the Ceremonial Trident during this occasion. Father of Rivan and grandfather to Dumna. [Thank you @angelofawhitenight for the additional info!]
Seggin - known as the “Demon Sergant” in his old Zora Knight days, he has a slightly higher resistance to electricity compared to the average Zora. He used to be Mipha’s combat instructor. He’s since retired as is now a Member of the Council of Elders. Father to Bazz. [Thank you @angelofawhitenight for the additional info!]
Muzu - Chief Zora Advisor. Teacher to Mipha 100 years ago. He always strives to be as useful as he can to the King. Kinda a racist asshole
Link’s Friends:
Kodah - Calls Link “Linny,” and once asked Link to choose between her and Mipha. Married to Kayden. Her daughter is Finley and Kodah thinks she has horrible taste in men. Frankly, I’m one to agree considering the age thing is….bleh
Prince Sidon - You all know who he is. Has a scar on his fin from the time he fought a giant Octorok from the inside out at Hateno bay
Bazz - Captain of the Zora Guard. Trained with Link 100 years ago. Son of the Sergeant Seggin, otherwise known as the “Demon Sergeant.” Led the Big Bad Bazz Brigade in his youth where he trained with the young Hylian Champion.
Rivan - Part of the Zora Guard. Used to be part of the Big Bad Bazz Brigade. Works alongside his daughter, Dumna
Gaddison - Guards the Eastern Bridge to Zora’s Domain. Used to be part of the Big Bad Bazz Brigade. Sometimes known as “The Heroine.”
Citizens:
Tona - Part of the Sidon Fan Club. She wishes her big brother, Cleff, would follow in Prince Sidon’s example
Tula - Part of the Sidon Fan Club. Easily distracted, prefers swimming around in the lagoons rather than actively looking for a Hylian during the Ruta Floodings.
Gruve - Loves the art of diving. Favourite diving spot is from Shatterback Point
Torfeau - Part of the Zora’s Guard. Training hard in case a Hinox ever causes trouble
Laflat - Chief secretary for the Zora Royal Family. Thankful to Link for saving the Domain, as well as showing her a picture of the Lynel of Ploymus Mountain
Kayden - Works at the Seabed Inn. Runs the inn with his wife, Kodah. Father to Finley
Marot - Works at Marot Mart, a combination workshop and general store. Made a theme song for the establishment herself. The old man who works at the workshop, Dento, is her grandfather.
Cleff - Works at Marot Mart. Worried the place might shut down like the old armour shop, because of the lack of patrons. Luckily Link tamed Ruta and business is booming
Ledo - apprentice to Master Dento alongside Fronk. Helps to repair the architecture of the Domain as part of his training. Willing to trade diamonds for luminous stones
Dumna - Part of the Zora Guard. Works alongside her father, Rivan. Lower in rank than him, as she wields a Zora Spear. Her grandfather is the now retired Guardsman, Trello
Fronk - apprentice to Master Dento alongside Ledo. Trains by helping to repair and maintain parts of the Domain. Husband to Mei, sons are Tumbo and Keye.
Tottika - Part of the Zora Guard. Supposedly a skilled knight, considering he describes himself as new to the Guard, but still wields a Silverscale Spear which is only given to the more gifted, experienced knights.
Aaaand that’s that! Every other Zora in the game is located outside of the Domain, so if I missed your favourite one, the reason is because I was too lazy.
“Too lazy,” said Kip, as she spent the last hour creating small bios for over 20 Zora. Cut me some slack p l e a s e
