I don't know if its a good idea to bring this debate here, but I'd love to get other folk's opinions.

Every couple of months, a debate always starts somewhere on campus about whether or not spirit summoning is necromancy.

The argument that it is necromancy starts with because you are pulling the dead back to the realm of the living, it is. Regardless of if it's the body or the spirit of the deceased, it is necromancy.

The argument against this rebukes with because you don't control the spirit or their actions and you normally don't use the corpse of the deceased as a vessel for the spirit, instead opting for an effigy or beloved object, it isn't necromancy. Necromancy is exclusively when you reanimate the body, not summon the spirit.

The rebuttal to this argument is that since you can use a body as a vessel and you can threaten the spirit with severing the spell or torturing them, it is the same as reanimating a corpse and controlling it. Just because the reanimated can complain, they say, doesn't mean they're free.

The rebuttal to the rebuttal is that those are actions one can take but are unnecessary. Is it necromancy if a healer resurrects a folk who's been dead only for a couple of moments? What if a pure manafolk, like an angel, is spirit summoned? Does that count?

And on and on this goes until a Silverquill student butts in and starts talking about linguistics and how the language we are using is loaded or something. Everyone gets bored and goes back to our duties. Until a couple of months later, where another two folk will inevitably bring it up again.

So what do you folk think? Obviously, I'm of the opinion that it's not, but I do think it's more similar than most.

I can't stress how much of a menace Lorehold student could be in Ravnica now that omen paths are open.

Most of them would have warrants out from the boros egion for tresspassing and graverobbing, and unlike other adventuring-type non-protected by the guildpact (aka guildless), lorehold students are combat trained and very eager to fight.

Not an Orzhov crypt warden constantly chasing the kids trying to interview the ghosts.

They keep "accidentaly" digging through dimir and Golgari secret lairs and using Simic Zonots as shortcuts.

The Azorius senate would be in a terrible situation where they have to aknowledge guildless people in order to do anything to the students.

The izzet just have a chip on their shoulder because Velomachus is just a cooler name that Niv-Mizzet.

Megatron on that day felt betrayed by all who fallowed him, he was the one who started the revaluation, he was the one who wanted freedom, he was a slave the the arena.

So when seeing that the matrix chose a data keeper, Optimus prime, one of higher class, rage filled his spark. He swore to destroy and conquer all of Cybertron, to reform it in his image.

But optimus knew his path would only destroy cybertron, thus a great war began, turning cybertron into a wasteland.

The war had lasted for many years, many lifes were lost. And one day, energon was low, forcing many more to shut down.

Soon the autobots had no choice but to find a new home, to find energon, to save the freedom they swore to protect.

But they were fallowed, and the autobots and Decepticons crashed on earth, ending the dinasours. And they slept, and slept and slept.

Millions of years passed, and it was until 1986 when tellatran one awakened thanks to the power of the volcano they slept in.

Unfortunately, the Decepticons were repaired first, leading them to begin the search on what use our planet had.

When the autobots awakened, they soon learned that our world was different, they had to be heros, but also, robots in discuse.

i tried to make this one a little messier, like when you doodle on your readings. this is káhi, my dm pc for the strixhaven game that i'm running with my sisters! their name means wish/prayer in tagalog. the crossed-out words are malas "bad luck" and sumpa "curse" because it's a superstition in our setting that wild magic sorcerers are bad omens. they grew up in a convent of fibre arts nuns, so they have a lot of faith in god (me, the dm) and they can do pretty much anything that involves yarn and thread.

Hello! I am August of Lorehold College.

I'm a Mousefolk originally from Goodhill, Valley, on Bloomburrow, but if I'm not visiting home or studying on Arcavios, you'll probably find me wandering around the Multiverse. Well, you'll probably almost step on me. No hard feelings if that happens!

I'm a natural born portal mage, a pretty decent spirit summoner, and I've picked up a plethora of useful spells over my time as a planeswalker.
