a lando x desi!reader marriage fic. Omgggv just imagine all the lil functions and tradition it'd be sooo cutee
Mehndi laga ke rakhna
OKAY SO. i did get a request similar to this so im just gonna combine both so i hope yall dont mind!!! the other request i got was basically this but it just mentioned that lando was telling y/n that they’ll get married like this one day and i wanted to include that cause it’s so cute also the unfortunate truth is that i haven’t been to a lot of weddings. the only wedding i remember very well was my aunt’s wedding from when 10 years ago(i was 9. fuck that’s crazy) but i did my best with this.
Tumblr media
Ever since Y/n took Lando to her friend’s wedding. The thought of marrying her never left his mind. All he wanted was to marry her but the way her culture does it. Growing up in India meant a lot of traditions, festivals, wedding events, etc.
When Y/n asked Lando to come with her to her friend’s wedding, he said no at first but after attending all the events, he was mesmerised. He loved every single one of them. The mehndi, the sangeet, the haldi. all of it
The day of the wedding, as both of them watched her friend marry the love of her life, he wrapped his arms around her beautiful lengha whispering
“One day, I’m gonna marry you exactly like this”
She smiled said she couldn’t wait for that day to come. And boy that day came so quickly. With the blessing of her parents, he proposed to her a month or two later and immediately got to work.
Lando basically saw a new side of his fiancée. Full of stress and making sure things were right. Slowly she started to lose her mind cause she had to come up with the guest list, find the venue for all the events and Lando was starting to see how much goes into a desi wedding.
But once all the events took place, it felt magical.
Mehndi
The mehndi event was fine. Y/n was basically sitting in one place for hours getting mehndi (henna) done on her hands and legs. Lando kept coming over to give her company smiling like a child the whole time.
She was wearing a simple kurta that belonged to her mom with a dupata. She saw Lando come up to her and sit next to her careful not to ruin anything
“Hello my lovely bride” He greeted her placing a gentle kiss on her cheek.
“Hi baba. Hogaya tera? (you’re done?)” She asked him and he happily showed off his palm with mehndi on it.
“All done and dried”
She smiled at his little goofy self. They enjoyed each other’s company even though she basically couldn’t move but she leaned into him resting herself as she watched the design come to life on her body.
He loved everything about this. He knew he was gonna love the coming days of this era.
Sangeet
The sangeet was everyone’s favourite cause they get to dance for the couple and her friends had so much planned for them. The drivers invited actually reached out to Y/n’s friends and asked them for help so they could do a dance and that’s exactly what they did.
Everyone was getting drinks, having conversations and when it was time for the performance, they gathered around the floor stage to watch the performances by friends.
Lando and Y/n were sitting at the front while the rest were standing and two of her friends entered with the song “kamariya” playing making her cheer since it was garba dance which she adored so much. The dance was so good and when it was changing to the next song, the rest of her group joined in.
The next dance had the song “kukkad” so the boys and girls were dancing together. The reason they chose this song was cause student of the year was their favourite movie during their childhood (and also because of Sidharth Malhotra).
A few performances later came the best for last. Carlos, Oscar, Max, Charles and George entered the stage making the crowd go crazy. Especially Lando since he gets to see his friends dance to the best item song ever which was “fevicol se”
They boys did great. Y/n was so proud of them she got up with Lando and went to hug them after their dance and everyone joined the floor having the time of their life.
Haldi
Lando and Y/n decided to keep the haldi event small with close friends and family only. The haldi event was basically smearing tumeric/haldi on the bride and groom. It’s normally a day or two before the actual wedding and held it at her house.
Everyone put tumeric all over them. In their hair, skin, clothes. Everywhere. It was a short event but very intimate and fun. So many pictures got taken over the days and many memories were made.
The wedding
the day was finally here. The day Lando and Y/n get married. How were they feeling you ask? nervous as hell. No cold feet. No. They knew they wanted to do this. It just felt too good to be true. They couldn’t believe this was actually happening
Y/n was in the dressing room getting ready for the big day. She wore a beautiful Manish Malhotra Lenhgha and her makeup was stunning. Her mother was helping her get everything together.
“I’m so happy for you baba. Meri bacchi ki shaadi ho rahi hai (my daughter is getting married)”
She said before kissing Y/n’s cheek aggressively making her laugh.
“Love you too mumma. zyada rona matt (don’t cry too much)”
Her mother laughed but just pulled her cheek. After a while, the time came. They entered and Lando was already sitting next to the fire mesmerised by her beauty. She was already so beautiful but seeing her as bride struck something in him.
He couldn’t wait to spend the rest of his life with this woman. As she sat down with him the words immediately left his mouth
“You look so beautiful…”
Y/n blushed. After all these years, he still managed to get her all flustered smiling like a little girl.
“Still know how to make me blush after all these years huh?”
She said teasing him.
The ceremony was beautiful. Both families were crying. Seeing their children get married was something they weren’t ready for but loved it regardless.
The wedding eneded in a few hours and it was magical. It was everything the both of them wanted. Once they headed back, they stepped into the house for the first time as husband and wife.
Lando immediately kissed his wife. Still processing that this woman was now his wife. He pulled away saying
“Welcome home wife” He said booping her nose making her tear up a little out of happiness.
“Welcome home husband” She returned immediately hugging him whispering
“I love you. I can’t wait to spend the remainder of my life with you”
He felt so happy hearing that
“I love you too. I’m so excited to spend my life with you too”
They got the life they wanted and deserved. It was the best time of their life and when all the photos came, they spent a lot of time looking at it and deciding which ones to put up on their wall.
It was a good wedding indeed.

mehndi laga ke rakhna
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
heeseung looks for his name in your henna the night before your wedding.
pairing :: lee heeseung x gn!reader genres/au’s :: fluff warnings :: brief food talk word count :: 0.5k author’s note :: i don't care how this performs (at least i'm telling myself that) because this fic is completely self-indulgent. no one asked for this. i hope my fellow desis and everyone else who chooses to read this enjoy this nevertheless. this is so embarrassing omg DON'T LOOK AT ME. also, jaanu means dear in urdu/hindi and i used it because i'm feeling delusional. beta readers :: @sunoosill but she might have been too busy laughing at me to actually edit it LOL I APPRECIATE YOU THO <3 soundtrack :: kesariya (honestly i was listening to o re piya while writing but that song makes me sad so here)
Tumblr media
“oh, you look beautiful,” heeseung declared from the couch, his right hand on his heart as you rounded the corner into your warmly lit living room, “do a little twirl.”
“i’m wearing pajamas, heeseung,” you protested but lifted the ends of your pajamas to spin for your fiancé with a bashful grin.
“how long did this take?” heeseung’s eyes widened as you approached, surprised by the level of detail in your mehndi.
“five or six hours. she had to cover my feet, too,”
“five or s—” heeseung’s mouth fell agape, “i hope you got to eat and drink water.”
“i did, don’t worry,” you laughed off his comment, recalling how frantic your friends and family were to ensure you were doing just that, “and…i have a little surprise for you.”
heeseung tilted his head in curiosity, gaze fixed on you as you joined him on the sofa. “and what would that be?”
“do you remember that tradition i told you about? the one that—”
“you wrote my name in there?” a toothy smile started to form on heeseung’s lips as he gently pulled your right hand toward his face.
“just your first name,” you smiled, combing the hair that had fallen into heeseung’s face in his excitement back with your free hand. he remained focused on your hand as he used his pointer finger to follow a spiral from the center of your palm outward.
“this will be so easy,”
“if you think it’s so easy, maybe we should add some stakes,” you suggested. you tried to sound like you had just come up with this idea, but your delivery revealed that you had thought about it much beforehand. he looked up with a cocked eyebrow, always in the mood for a challenge. “if you don’t find your name in the next three minutes, i win — in which case, i get to write my name on you too. in the same spot.”
“okay, deal,” he said softly, smiling to himself as he set a timer before looking back down at your mehndi. your heart swelled with affection as he moved his touch along your forearm to check there, grazing each square inch with his soft fingers. he met your eyes momentarily, shaking his head as if to say “not on this one.”
picking up your left hand, he repeated the process, starting from the center of your palm and working outward. he paused briefly midway through tracing your fingers but continued, biting his bottom lip to conceal a grin.
“you have a terrible poker face, jaanu,” he pretended not to hear you, so you wiggled your fingers to get his attention. “i know you found it.”
“you’re so sentimental that i knew exactly where it was going to be,” heeseung admitted, curling your left index and middle fingers forward to reveal, among the scallops of the design, ‘HEESEUNG’ written along the length of your ring finger. “but i knew you wanted to write your name on my hand.”
“oh, who’s the sentimental one now, hm?” you rolled your eyes, giving a playful push to his shoulder.
heeseung reached behind himself to reveal a mehndi cone, a proud smirk on his face, “might be me,” he handed you the cone and put his left hand in yours.
“it’s definitely you,” you leaned forward, pressing a small kiss onto the corner of his grin.

eisuke ichinomiya x desi!reader headcanons !!
im so bored so here are some headcanons bec i love being desi
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
• he hates it when he has to wait and initially when you started dating you tried your best to be on time whenever he paged you but as your relationship progressed, its game over. whenever u have to go out, you ALWAYS leave at the the desi time and he slowly got so used to it, the one and only time punctual eisuke was late to events.
• eisuke has a massive sweet tooth so when you first made him kheer, he absolutely loved it although his only words were ‘not bad’. He definitely asks you to make it again so you feed him other ‘mithai’ (sweets in urdu/hindi) like gulab jamun, rasgullay, JALEBI etc and he loves it so much.
• you make him desi food from time to time and actually requests it like you him ask ‘eisuke what do you want for dinner today?’ and he just says ‘you made nihari last time, it was good. make it again’ he finds it very flavourful.
• he’s very familiar with other cultures since he’s a businessman and often interacts with foreign businessmen. he knows about the clothes and customs of your country. imagine eisuke in kurta or sherwani EISUKE IN A KURTA A BLACK KURTA AT THAT (i would actually die). Whenever you go to family events, you always wear traditional clothes and once eisuke is invited to them, he initially just wears his suit but after some time he starts to indulge you and actually wears your traditional clothes.
• he finds it very sexy when you talk and swear in your mother language.
• eisuke is multilingual (as its mentioned in the story) so if he doesnt know your mother langauge he would DEFINITELY learn and boy his pronunciation would be so good (thats a perfectionist for you)
• he says he hates bollywood movies because theyre so extra but thats a lie. whenever u play something like ‘kabhi khushi kabhi gham’ or ‘kal ho na ho’ he always watches it with you because he’s intrigued but ALWAYS says ‘this movie is so bad i wonder why you waste time watching this stuff’
• you go around singing bollywood songs or songs in your mother tongue around the penthouse and he just enjoys it so much but he definitely wont say it out loud
• eisuke was FLABBERGASTED when you told him or rather showed him a desi wedding like why is everyone wearing such fancy clothes ??? and he’s even more surprised when he finds out there’s actually three days to a wedding and even more pre wedding events.
• he loves it when you wear mehndi on your hands, he sees mehndi as something that adorns your hand and whenever u apply it, he brings your hand up to his face and smells it because he loves thr scent.
• when you told him about all your family and by that i mean family on your mother’s and father’s side, he has to do a double take because why the fuck do you have SO many cousins? he’s trying to keep up but there’s just so many.
• your parents love him more than you. they literally said it to your face ‘oh my, such a handsome boy, how did you ever end up with our incompetent daughter’ you cannot convince me that this wont happen.
• baba asks you to teach him bhangra and other desi dance steps and you, ota and baba have the time of your life dancing to chammak challo and nach punjaban in the penthouse lounge and eisuke just looks at you like youre comitting a crime
a little something for myself bec im a self indulgent bitch (not exactly a desi headcanon but i wanted to add this)
• every eid you spend with him, he makes sure to spoil you thoroughly. he gives you so much eidi (literally) like he straight up handed you car keys once and went ‘eid mubarak ___, i know you’ve been waiting for your eidi’ and then he just smirks while you think what did you do to deserve so much. he enjoys eid festivities with you and eid ul fitr is his favourite eid.

CHANI NATTAN, INDERPAL MOGA & AR PAISLEY BRIDGE BORDERS WITH JOINT PUNJABI-ENGLISH HIP-HOP EP EAST TO WEST
Tumblr media
Today, Chani Nattan, Inderpal Moga and AR Paisley bridge East and West with the release of their highly-anticipated joint EP “East To West”  via 91 North Records. Merging authentic western hip hop sounds with traditional South Asian roots, the 7 track tape, which draws inspiration from early 90s and 2000s Hip Hop, sees Vancouver’s Chani Nattan and Inderpal Moga unite with Toronto’s rap titan AR Paisley in a project of timeless music that stays true to its roots while breaking international boundaries.
Featuring evocative bars, as well as a soulful, emotive blend of nostalgic sounds, East to West is sure to cement Nattan, Moga and Paisley's status as the new titans in the Punjabi - Hip Hop scene. Opening track 'Block Boys', blends the essence of early 2000s hip-hop with vibrant Punjabi sounds, in a dynamic fusion that highlights the artists lyrical flair, while fueling an exciting narrative of their collective grind and hustle.
youtube
‘Heater’ splices hypnotizing synths, and bouncy bass-heavy percussion over laid-back production from collaborator Jass G,on a track that embodies an aura of dominance and carefree enjoyment. The vibrant and uptempo vibes of ‘Dancer’, an experimental and innovative sound influenced by 90s disco, gives way to ‘Mehndi’, a song inspired by the vibrant culture of Punjabi wedding season - an interplay of nostalgia and romantic undertones that exemplify the artist’s versatility.
The project changes pace on love song ‘All Eyez On You” an intense cut that beautifully reflects on the feeling of being completely enamored by a single person that becomes the center of one’s world, despite the constant allure of the spotlight.  Nattan, Moga and Paisley ride out the ups and downs of life's relational tides, with their most introspective single to date “Seasons’ - an ode to the unpredictable nature of relationships that compare to ever changing seasons. Rounding out the tape is the 2023 release, ‘What’s Beef’, the first collaboration between the artists, which started their ascent together in the hip hop space.
youtube
Chani Nattan, Inderpal Moga and AR Paisley are one of the most exciting breakout rap talents of recent years. With music that is relatable in every sense, driven less by punchlines and more by traditional roots and nostalgia, the artists reflect on their personal experiences of the process saying, “We feel nostalgic when we listen to music right now, the sound reminds us of when we were in middle school going to theme parks, playing basketball etc. We had a lot of relatable connections to music like the music that resonated with us most during our upbringings.”
Chani Nattan, Inderpal Moga, and AR Paisley also blaze a trail as the first Canadian South Asian trio to showcase Punjabi hip-hop on the viral platform On The Radar.
Shot in New York City, the trio delivered a dynamic East To West Cypher freestyle on the platform, which has seen the likes of Drake & Central Cee, Lil Baby, Lil Yachty amongst other notable rap acts. The East To West tape follows an exciting 2024 for the rising stars, with a consistent slate of releases from Chani Nattan and Inderpal Moga that includes their 91 North Records debut ‘Facetime’ which garnered nods from outlets such as Billboard Canada, reaching #1 on Spotify Canada's Vancouver Pulse Chart and recent release ‘Bhabi’.
The year has also proved to be a breakout one for Paisley, whose surprise collaboration ‘Drippy’ with the late Sidhu Moose Wala accumulated over 15 million views in under a week, charting #9 on Canada's Billboard Hot 100. They are set to round out the summer with a performance at the UK’s R5B Festival on August 31st!

Also Indian weddings are so ❤️❤️
Idk how it is for Indian people outside India but back home in the villages (I live in the city) a wedding is a week long affair there's multiple ceremonies and how many of the ceremonies each person attends is based entirely on how close that person is to the bride and groom like I had my brother's (cousin but for us first cousins are as close as siblings) wedding this April so I attended everything the roka, the mehndi, the actual wedding everything (although I fell asleep before his jaimala but in my defense I'd already had the food, I'd been there for hours and it was 2 in the morning)
Meanwhile in a distant relative's wedding I would only attend on the day of the actual wedding haha
I wanna get married just for the sake of the wedding lmao that's what desi weddings do to a girl
Honestly that's AMAZING. For us the plans for the wedding changed a 100 times, the mother of the groom wanted a traditional wedding in a way she never got to fully have but things had to constantly be adapted. One plan was to hold it in India for close relatives there (which would've probably resulted in a more drawn-out traditional ceremony), but some of those relatives are getting on in years so we had to plan it quickly - which meant a summer wedding, and summer in Calcutta is apparently gruelling. So in the end we went for a wedding in a hotel in Paris, where my BIL's family currently lives. Which meant the fire for one of the ceremonies was only electric candles, and a lot of other stuff had to change too. Hell, the mother-in-law is from a region where mehndi is not practiced at all so she was originally not going to do it, but her friends protested FIERCELY haha
In the end, walking around the fire, repeating mantras and exchanging garlands and the Indian version of wedding vows all in all lasted... One hour. It WAS followed by several Bollywood style dance medleys and a mixture of some western traditions too (cutting the cake, speech time, and perhaps a little more randomly my dad and I singing some songs to the bride and groom from the Balkan choir that my dad has been in all his life and I joined last year), and all the celebratory stuff. And of course we had the mehndi and the giving of blessings by close family and friends two days earlier (I'm so sorry, I forget what it's called, but it's the applying of this mixture of turmeric, sandalwood, olive oil and rose water all over the couple's faces). So that was day 1, and day 2 was just decorating the hall, with the wedding itself on day 3. So alas, not a full week of festivities, but still SUCH a special experience
What meant the most though was how much we were welcomed into this community. Like I said, it was in Paris, and a lot of the family's local Indian friends came. (People who were from all over India btw!! Rajasthan, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Goa, all over.) They said that because they were so far away from their blood relatives, THIS was their family here. And we got to know so many of them, got to exchange stories and jokes, danced with them... It was just incredible.
My dad mentioned in his speech that our families started out on such distant sides of the world, yet somehow drifted towards one another, and meeting felt like we'd known each other all our lives. I'm not one for fate at all, but if I were: yeah. I think our families would probably have been fated to meet.

The Gujarati Wedding: Traditions, Customs, and Celebrations
Weddings in Gujarat, a western state in India, are vibrant, colorful, and steeped in rich cultural traditions. Gujarati weddings are known for their elaborate rituals, festive ambiance, and warm hospitality. They perfectly blend religious customs, family values, and social celebrations. Let's take a closer look at the various elements that make up a typical Gujarati wedding.
Pre-Wedding Rituals:
Tumblr media
Roka: The first step towards a Gujarati wedding is the Roka ceremony, where the bride and groom’s families formally meet and exchange gifts. This marks the official announcement of the couple's engagement.
Sagai: The Sagai or engagement ceremony follows the Roka. Rings are exchanged between the bride and groom in the presence of their families and close friends. This ceremony symbolizes both families formally accepting the couple's relationship.
Ganesh Puja: Before the wedding festivities begin, a Ganesh Puja, which is a prayer to Lord Ganesha, is performed to seek blessings and remove any obstacles from the path of the wedding.
Mehndi: The Mehndi ceremony involves the application of henna on the hands and feet of the bride and other female family members. It is a fun-filled event where traditional Gujarati songs and dances are performed.
Mandap Mahurat: The construction of the wedding mandap, a canopy under which the marriage ceremony will take place, is considered an auspicious event. The mandap is beautifully decorated with flowers and other ornamental items.
Wedding Rituals:
Tumblr media
Pithi: The Pithi ceremony is a pre-wedding ritual where a paste of turmeric, sandalwood, and rose water is applied to the bride and groom's bodies. This is believed to purify and beautify their skin for the wedding day.
Haldi: The Haldi ceremony involves applying a paste of turmeric and other herbs on the bride and groom's face, hands, and feet. It is believed to ward off evil spirits and bring good luck to the couple.
Mandap Puja: Before the wedding ceremony begins, the mandap is sanctified with a puja (prayer) performed by the priest. The bride's parents offer gifts to the groom as a gesture of goodwill.
Kanyadaan: The Kanyadaan ceremony is the most significant ritual in a Gujarati wedding. It involves the bride's parents giving away their daughter's hand in marriage to the groom. The couple then takes seven steps together, known as the Saptapadi, symbolizing their mutual commitment to each other.
Jaimala: The Jaimala or Varmala ceremony is when the bride and groom exchange garlands made of flowers as a sign of their acceptance of each other. This is followed by a fun-filled ritual known as "Juta Churai," where the bride's sisters and friends try to steal the groom's shoes, and he has to bribe them to get them back.
Mangal Pheras: The couple then takes four rounds around the sacred fire, known as the Mangal Pheras, with each round signifying a different aspect of married life - Dharma (duty), Artha (prosperity), Kama (love), and Moksha (salvation).
Sindoor Daan: The groom applies sindoor (vermilion) on the bride's forehead, and this marks her transition from a maiden to a married woman.
Post-Wedding Rituals: Kansar: After the wedding ceremony, the couple offers each other a sweet dish called Kans.

You cannot wear my skin
What bugs me the most about white girls wearing henna and accessorizing with bindis and getting Om tattoos is that they don't have any respect for the cultures that they are taking from, that they don't understand that these aren't just pretty things to enhance your beauty or show off your status as a spiritually connected individual.
These things are a marker of our culture for us, they're a flashing red sign on our foreheads that don't come off at the end of the day, like a dark stain that doesn't scrub off your skin no matter how hard you try, they're symbols that have been pressed onto our bodies before we could even walk or talk. They are reminders that we come from somewhere else, they are signifiers of the fact that we are foreign here. They are traces of an identity that we have to fight to keep with us; An identity that was taken from us by the same people who made us feel like it was stupid and embarrassing to have mehndi on your hands after your cousin’s wedding. By the people who joked about drawing red dots on your forehead at school. The people who pointed lasers around their friends foreheads saying HEY I HAVE A RED DOT I HAVE A RED DOT. The people who pointed their fingers at our religion, who compared our gods and goddesses to the movie Avatar because our deities seemed alien to them. The people who pulled at our necklaces made of black thread and protective sigils and snidely asked 'why we wore the number 30' around our necks. The people who laughed at the girls who wore thick braids to school and had coconut oil on their skin. The people who called us curry munchers, who asked if that boy's turban was dirty, who told us in so many words and actions that being Indian was shameful. That being Indian was a joke, that it was humiliating.
What angers me is that I believed them. What angers me is that I stopped begging my mum to buy me mehndi cones and Ramayana comics. What angers me is that I stopped celebrating Diwali and started picking at the beads on my salwar kameez every festival season. What angers me is that I lamented the sight of myself in the mirror for nine days every Navratri, rubbing the Chandan off my forehead for fear that it would be pointed out on me again and that everybody would laugh. What angers me is that I wore jeans and an 'ethnic' printed shirt to school on” international” day because the only way I could represent my culture without feeling ashamed was by doing it the ironic way a white person would. What angers me is that I, a fucking Indian, cannot be openly appreciative of any aspect of my culture without feeling like an embarrassed 12-year-old girl just waiting for my white friend to scrunch up her face and tell me how weird I am. What angers me is that I never had any Desi friends because they could sense the shame that radiated off a girl who doesn’t even pronounce her own name correctly when introducing herself. What angers me is that I am uncomfortable when a Bollywood song comes up on my iPod while I’m in public. What angers me is that I still rub the Chandan off my forehead with spit before even setting foot outside the temple. What angers me is that I am so afraid to put on the skin that you are wearing. What angers me is that you can take it off. I can't. What angers me is that in some tiny part of my brain, I still wish I could. You cannot wear my skin without ripping it off me first.

But what is it about Bollywood DJ tracks that makes them so captivating? Let’s dive into the vibrant world of Bollywood music and uncover what sets it apart.
The Magic of Bollywood DJ Music
Bollywood music is already known for its rich diversity. From romantic ballads to peppy dance numbers, it caters to every mood and occasion. When you add the DJ twist, these songs transform into high-energy tracks that can light up any dance floor. Fusing traditional Bollywood melodies with modern beats creates an electrifying vibe that appeals to people across age groups and geographies.
Why Is Bollywood DJ Music So Popular?
Perfect Blend of Tradition and Modernity Bollywood music tracks often fuse traditional Indian instruments like tabla, dhol, and sitar with electronic beats and bass drops. This mix creates a familiar yet fresh sound, making it perfect for both nostalgic listeners and new-age partygoers.
Unmatched Energy for Any Event Whether it’s a wedding sangeet, a college fest, or a club night, Bollywood music brings unparalleled energy. The upbeat tempo and catchy lyrics make it impossible for anyone to resist the dance floor.
Universally Relatable Themes Bollywood songs often revolve around universal themes like love, heartbreak, and celebration. When these songs are remixed with a DJ’s touch, they resonate even more, making them crowd-pleasers at any event.
Massive Global Appeal Bollywood music has a growing global fanbase. From London to New York, DJs are spinning Bollywood tracks at international parties, introducing new audiences to the magic of Indian music.
Critical Elements of Bollywood DJ Tracks
What goes into making a Bollywood music track a hit? Here are some essential ingredients:
Catchy Beats: The beats are the backbone of any DJ track. Bollywood remixes often feature rhythmic patterns that build up to powerful drops, keeping the energy alive.
Creative Mixes: DJs blend old classics with contemporary hits to appeal to diverse audiences. This creativity adds a fresh perspective to familiar songs.
High Energy Drops: The transition from a mellow build-up to an explosive drop is a signature element of Bollywood music. These drops get the crowd moving and keep the excitement high.
Vocals and Lyrics: The essence of Bollywood music lies in its lyrics and vocals. DJs retain these elements while enhancing them with modern beats.
Bollywood DJ Music at Weddings
No Indian wedding is complete without Bollywood music. DJs play a crucial role in setting the mood, from pre-wedding events like mehndi and sangeet to the grand reception. Here’s why Bollywood music is a wedding favourite:
Customized Playlists: DJs curate playlists that cater to the bride, groom, and their families. Popular choices include romantic tracks for couples’ dances and peppy numbers for group performances.
Audience Engagement: Bollywood music tracks are designed to get everyone on the dance floor, from kids to grandparents.
Cultural Connection: Remixed folk songs or regional tracks add a personal touch, making the music feel close to home.
Bollywood DJs in Clubs
The rise of Bollywood-themed club nights is another testament to the genre’s popularity. DJs remix hit tracks with international beats, creating a unique experience that appeals to Bollywood fans and EDM enthusiasts. These nights are a hit because:
They Offer Something Different: Bollywood music brings a fresh vibe to the club scene, breaking the monotony of mainstream EDM or hip-hop.
Inclusive Atmosphere: The relatable lyrics and familiar tunes create an inclusive environment where everyone feels comfortable joining the party.
Tips for Aspiring Bollywood DJs
If you’re an aspiring DJ looking to break into the Bollywood music scene, here are some tips:
Understand Your Audience: Every event is different. Knowing what your audience likes can help you create the perfect playlist.
Experiment with Genres: Don’t be afraid to mix Bollywood with other genres like EDM, hip-hop, or reggae. Creativity is key!
Master the Art of Transitions: Smooth transitions between tracks keep the energy flowing. Practice your mixing skills to ensure seamless sets.
Stay Updated: Bollywood music is constantly evolving. Stay up-to-date with the latest hits and trends to keep your sets fresh.
Engage with the Crowd: A good DJ knows how to read the crowd and adjust the playlist accordingly. Interact with your audience to create a memorable experience.
The Future of Bollywood DJ Music
The future of Bollywood DJ music looks incredibly bright. The genre is poised to reach new heights with the advent of technology and global collaborations. DJs are experimenting with AI-powered music tools and incorporating global sounds into their sets. The result? A more dynamic and diverse Bollywood music scene that continues to win hearts worldwide.
Conclusion
Bollywood DJ music is more than just sound—it’s an experience. Its infectious energy, cultural richness, and universal appeal make it a staple at celebrations worldwide. Whether you’re a party enthusiast, a wedding planner, or an aspiring DJ, embracing Bollywood music will add magic to any event. So next time you’re in the mood to dance, turn up the volume and let Bollywood DJ tracks take over!
