Today was a boring day, and with no missions and nowhere to go, you decided to bother your beloved boyfriend, Megumi.

You were currently lying on his bed with your head hanging from the edge of it as you looked at the Divine dog that was lying down peacefully in front of you.

"Megumi?"

"Hmm?"

"Why do you not have a cat shikigami?" you asked, sitting up and facing him.

"Huh?" he asked, looking up from the book he was reading.

"Like you know how there is Nue, Orochi, Gama, Bansho, Cookie..." you recalled, naming the ones you remembered as you ruffled "cookie"'s fur.

"Cookie?" Megumi asked, confused

"I am still working on that," you shook your head, mentally scratching the name off your list.

"No but like, what i mean is that you literally have so many animals as your shikigami and yet there isn't a cat."

"And thats a problem because...?" The book that he was holding now closed and by his side as he watched you, amused at your antics.

"Because cats are amazing! They're independent, smart, and honestly... they remind me of you." Megumi couldn't help but blush at that, proud that you thought of him like that and glad that you didn't see his face in the midst of your reverie.

"You are literally exactly like a cat, Gumi. It would have been such a perfect fit... right, star?" you asked, cupping the little face of 'star' who looked at you innocently.

"Is Totality not enough for you?" he teased as you gaped at him, bewildered that he would even suggest such a thing.

Megumi was having the time of his life as he watched you struggle with a small smirk.

Cute.

"That's such a stupid name and i love my Star very much,"

You moved next to Megumi, sitting by his side as you continued,

"i just thought that it would have been nice to have a cat playing around the house, much better than that Mahoraga anyway."

"That's fair... i guess its because the previous curse users didnt really think about it or something?" he said, entertaining the little setback that you were experiencing.

"That's very cat-phobic of them, honestly. How can anybody forget cats?" you said with a dramatic flair but truly, how can anybody forget cats? they are majestic and just perfect.

Megumi laughed, shaking his head at your anger. He found it adorable but he would never tell you that. He noticed that you were now sulking with a little pout on your lips and before he could think it through, the words tumbled out of his mouth.

"We could always adopt..." he suggested, looking at you for a reaction.

And with the way he saw your eyes light up and your head whip towards him, he knew that he said just the right thing.

"Are you serious!?" you asked, excitement coursing through you with that little hope.

He nodded. Really, he would adopt a cat if it meant you'd be happy. He would do anything to make you happy. Besides, Megumi would be lying if he said that he didn't watch funny cat videos on his phone all the time. He liked the thought of having a cat.

"Yeah, it'll take some time but we can adopt a rescue cat."

"Oh my god! Megumi, thats so-" you squealed, your excitement mingling with a deep sense of affection for him.

As if feeling your excitement, Totality too, started to happily wag his tail in excitement.

You cooed at the dog, watching him with a loving smile as Megumi put his arm around you.

"You are amazing." you said, snuggling into Megumi who was admiring his shikigami too.

He pretended to have not heard it though, otherwise it would have been quite hard to hide the blush that was forming on his face.

God, you're going to be the death of him, he thought, as he glanced at you, now talking excitedly to Totality.

And he couldn't help the small smile tugging at his lips. He was glad that you were happy... it made him happy.

Jjk theories / opinions / thoughts part 3 uwu (they are becoming more stupid and less coherent, let's go)

-Gege began the rumor about sukuna drinking his own milk. It is TOO MUCH OF SOMETHING GEGE WOULD SAY I cannot be convinced otherwise

-Gojo's twink death happened in the prison realm

-kenjaku was involved in founding the star religious group. He's already been making pacts with sorcerers for a thousand years, so putting him in the Nara era isn't a stretch. We already know he made several attempts to interrupt the star plasma vessels. (yes I blame him for every thing ever. His fault. And I think he'd rather watch things crumble than do the work directly bc then it's like a game, unexpected things happen and it's more interesting. Bro is always playing games even with curses smh)

-Hakari would have started a fight club to fund Kirara's transition. Idk if the higher ups would have had issues w trans students or just with Hakari's unconventional domain and methods (not hesitating to lose a foot bc he'll get it back, for example), but Gojo called them a lot of variations of conservative idiots so it seems likely I think. And they left the school before she even came out, bc Panda didn't know.

-kinda unfair that Yuta gets to transfer into Gojo with his best outfit on, he didn't have to dress like Edward Cullen for years to get there (pls don't get offended I swear to God it's a joke but also I do kinda feel this way lmaoooo)

-how the fuck do nanako and mimiko's technique work? They're twins right? I get the feeling like Mimiko can't use one on her own, but she likes to threaten people with her doll and Nanako can hang people with it. I rly wish we got to see them more (I want to believe they survived sukuna bc Geto would have prepared those girls to stay safe, maybe there's just a time lag or something pls)

IN THE AIRPORT SCENE there's even Toji but those girls are not there so that gives me hope I kajahxkakdn (I get that maybe it's Gojo's mindscape but how would he have known that Haibara showed up to Nanami? It's not just his imagination imo, those girls are alive, I need them to be.)

-I miss rainbow dragonnnnnnnn I'm so sad and still mad at toji (despite my theory that he lost himself bc the worm is banana fish I'm just bitter lmao)

-I'm so fucking sad that we didn't get to see Hanami's domain. So I made one up myself but I don't have a name for itnkajsxjskmax I just think Hanami needed a redemption arc like Choso got :(((

-the other dubs are so fkn good that when I'm tired of it I'll just play that shit in another language. The first minute of the series in French tho made me laugh so hard I had to change it. But the exchange event in German was so good

-remember when Megumi brought out Max Elephant against Noritoshi Kamo? It's like. He knew that the blood manipulation weakness was water. Maybe that's a benefit of growing up in one of the 3 major clans.

-I feel like no one ever talks about how Megumi lost Orochi AND one of the demon dogs that was with him since he was a kid when he also watched Sukuna rip out Yuuji's heart. Like we all talk about how he gets more upset over losing animals than people but all 3 of those events at once... I was rly sad at first bc I wanted to see the snake more too.

-Megumi's head bleeding in every fight for most of the anime is meant to represent that his weakness is in his head.

-when it's raining, that shows that the characters are up against something bigger than they are prepared for. (I made a whole list of every use of water and its symbolism but God I feel insane)

-the shibuya arc hurts less to watch after the first 5 times (I think? I'm on My 9th watch and I think 2 1/2 read. It's hard to keep track at this point)

-I want to see the extended mahoraga vs sukuna fight in theaters I'm so jealous oh god

-I cannot be convinced that a single character in this show is heterosexual. Everyone is gay except for hakari ig but he's an ally so

-I think that Miguel and Larue might be together but idk

-kinda weird that no one mentioned nanako or mimiko (like how no one mentioned todo and he was fiiiiiine I knew he was having fun in the culling game the whole time)

Could I request Megumi and Gojo with an s/o who has the power to turn intimate objects into living beings or creatures? So, if she touches a dragon plushies it becomes a real dragon and if she touches a sword it becomes a person.

It had been a very long day.

The mission hadn’t exactly been hard. Just a low level curse he, Nobara, and Yuji were supposed to dispatch before it caused more problems to the citizens of Tokyo. Unfortunately, however, although it was small it was very clever. Too clever in fact and sent them on a wild goose chase all over the city before Megumi finally caught it and dispelled the curse so they could go home.

He breathed a heavy sigh as he came to the door and opened it. Finally able to relax in peace and quiet with [Y/N] for the rest of the evening.

That dream, however, was immediately dispelled as well after he opened the door and saw his dishes, plates, and the house broom flying around the house in some sort of mad conga line like a children’s movie Tsumiki made him once watch when they were little.

“Ah! Megumi! You’re home!”

“I take it that was a surprise for you?” He asked calmly as he removed his shoes.

Of course he knew about [Y/N]’s special skill of being able to bring inanimate objects to life. So he wasn’t surprised.

In battle it was a very helpful skill. They could create an army almost out of nothing, with the only limitation being the amount of cursed energy needed to bring it to life and size. They could create an almost endless supply quickly as his shikigami, without being limited to their form or if it was destroyed. He still missed Orochi.

In their private lives, however, it was a different story. Things like this would happen often. Where they would use their powers to ‘help’ around the house, or just entertain themselves when they were bored, usually to disastrous results.

“I thought you would be home later, and I could have this all done and everything back without you knowing.” They told him. Carefully weaving through the self-dancing broom that was kicking up dust into the corner. “Sorry.”

“Can you just…put everything back please?” Megumi asked, pinching the bridge of his nose. “It’s been a long day and I don’t have the energy for this circus right now.”

[Y/N] nodded and quickly dispelled the technique as safely as they could. No broken dishes this time, which was a plus. “Do you want me to get a bath for you? The regular way?”

“No. It’s fine.” He replied and stepped into the house now that it was safe. “The house does look nice by the way.”

[Y/N] grinned. “Thanks! I tried! I’ve been working on trying to get it more organized.”

“That might help a bit more if you did it and didn’t let the things decide where they want to go.”

“I know. But they seem so happy when they decide.”

Megumi smirked and let out a tired laugh. Of course they would take ‘the things’ feelings into consideration. “I think I am going to take a bath. Then get to bed early.”

“Ok. I’ll make you something to eat.”

“Just don’t let the pots decide how long to cook the soup for this time.” He told them. “They always get it wrong.”

Very Light JJK Spoilers

I’ve seen a lot of criticism about Sukuna as a villain. But I don’t think many people have taken the time to enjoy the time of big brain he is. We see this intelligence of his on full display during the Big Raga Incident.

- here upon ariving on the scene, Sukuna was able to deduce very quickly that:

1: Mahoraga is a Shikigami summoned by Megumi, despite never knowing about Mahoraga. Or the 10 shadows technique outside of what he’s learned from past battles during the Heian era and or his time in Yuji’s prison

2: Megumi’s subjugation ritual keeping him in a suspended state, and thus, he can’t die until Big Raga is dealt with.

3: Haruta staying alive being crucial to keeping Megumi alive throughout the ritual.

Sukuna is so familiar with Shikigami users and rituals associated to them, he’s able to figure in a few seconds everything that’s going on and what he probably needs to do. No other character in the series has demonstrated this level of analytical accuracy, this quickly.

- Here, Sukuna is able to identify what Mahoraga’s sword can do from their first exchange. It’s clear he’s seen or read about it before in the past. We don’t know all the battles he’s been a part of but he is clearly well versed in some ancient weapons as seen as during his battle with Kashimo.

Sukuna may be an avid enjoyer of his curse technique, Shrine, but he’s a fan of weapons, mainly in a lot of his Heian era artwork. Mainly a staff like weapon and then that lightning weapon he used against Kashimo. Let’s not forget to mention all of his past Heian era battles gave him a lot of experience. Who’s to say none of those sorcerers carried a cursed weapon. Based off of his current battle with our cast, he seems pretty used to sword users.

In short, Sukuna knows his way around cursed weapons, and is able identify what they’re capable of. He is also very capable of dealing with a weapon user, barehanded.

- lastly, we see Sukuna compare Big Raga to a something named Yamata no Orochi. Now Yamata no Orochi the Legendary 8 Headed/Tailed Dragon, in real life is a mythical creature first written about around the early 700s in Japan, “filled with malice” and eating young girl sacrifices every seven years. Later, Susanoo, the god of Storms, kills it. It’s known for having a few amazing powers but the main one is regeneration from damage, even death.

Now Sukuna may be referencing the actual mythology, since it was around during the Heian Era, which started at 794 AD and ended in 1185 AD. It’s plausible to assume Sukuna grew up well aware of the mythology. Or perhaps in the JJK universe, there was a Shikigami that may have created the legend we know today. Regardless, upon identifying how Big Raga preferred to stop his ops, via, adaptation, he activated Malevolent Shrine, to create the right conditions for him to use Fire Arrow.

(A quick aside for context, recently it’s been confirmed by Gege that Sukuna’s activation of Fire Arrow is simplified and buffed by the storm of cleave and dismantle turning everything into a fine powder in an air tight enviorment/ie his domain, so when the Fire Arrow activates, it causes an instantaneous explosion, disintegrating any and everything within the domain.)

I’m not saying the manga or anime implies Sukuna fought Yamata no Orochi, but it seems clear Sukuna knows how to deal with an adapting enemy: Obliderate it with an attack it can’t heal from, adapt to, or come back from.

I really enjoy how Gege writes action in JJK. In many cases, it tells you a lot about the characters involved and I believe the Mahoraga fight is one of the best, because it fully demonstrates how well experienced Sukuna is.

you can't help but tighten your grip on megumi while looking at sukuna. you can't tell if it's to calm yourself or restrain yourself, probably both if you're being honest. you hold your breath, staring at sukuna intently while waiting for him to make a move.

sukuna turns to stare up at the sky, he faces away from you so you're unable to gauge what he's thinking. "seems your brother is having a bit of trouble at the moment, so i thought what could i possibly do?"

sukuna turns and smiles at both of you with a sickening, wolfish grin. you see him raise his hand into the air then dig into his, your brother's, chest. after some digging around, he pulls out a bloody organ from the now gaping chest wound.

yuuji's heart.

it's megumi's turn to grip the life out of you. he can feel sweat dripping from his brow as his body runs cold. "wh-what are you..."

"i'm taking this brat hostage."

you squint at sukuna quizzically, "hostage?"

sukuna looks at you, clearly enjoying the scene before him. "yes, hostage. i can live without this flimsy thing, but your brother? afraid not, witch."

megumi does not miss the way sukuna accentuates the term witch. he also does not miss the frown that takes over your face. something clearly went down while they were in there. why would sukuna call her such?

sukuna tosses yuuji's heart from palm to palm, as if he was playing with a bouncy ball. "switching out with me means he dies, also..." sukuna whips out a finger from his pocket and throws it in his mouth, "for good measure."

you begin to giggle at sukuna's antics, which turns into a full blown cackle. megumi looks at you confused and sukuna matches his expression. your laughter hurts your current wounds, but you ignore it. you look at sukuna, smiling in victory, "you are an absolute fool."

sukuna smirks at you and rolls his eyes, "and why is that?"

you cease your laughter, continuing to stare straight into his soul, "you just don't get it. my brother will be back, even it means he dies. that's just who he is."

sukuna grins so wide you think his face must hurt. his teeth seem to shine in the moonlight, "you give him too much credit, just a moment ago he was scared out of his mind. he doesn't have the guts to make the suicide play."

you stare back at sukuna, both of you facing off with each other silently. you feel megumi tug on your arm slightly and you look to him now, determination etched onto his face. you feel as if you can see what he's about to do.

"we have so much open space, let's make use of it."

"nue!"

you and megumi both take off in the opposite direction, hoping to pin sukuna in between the both of you. megumi moves toward sukuna, throwing kicks and punches, hoping that at least a few will land.

sukuna is confused by this, he easily dodges every blow and questions megumi, "you're a shikigami user, yet you choose to come at me yourself?"

the dance that sukuna and megumi are performing right now, is becoming more than that. they are beginning to learn about one another, up close and personal. sukuna, a being who shows no interest in others, has an interest in this boy whom they call fushiguro.

"hmph!" sukuna grunts as he is thrown to the side and roughly lands onto his feet. he looks up and sees you, your fists lit up with a pure white hue. he's shocked that he did not even sense you with the amount of cursed energy that emits from you, almost forgetting that you were here. both you and megumi chase after to where you had just thrown sukuna.

"orochi!"

megumi's great serpent appears and grabs sukuna, pulling him upward toward the sky. "gang up on him!"

orochi begins to swing sukuna around like a dog would do to a new toy. nue joins in, throwing attack after attack at sukuna. sukuna cannot help but be impressed by how well you and megumi team up together, especially being 2 young jujutsu sorcerers.

orochi suddenly explodes into multiple pieces. you both are distracted by the site that you miss sukuna approaching. he grabs megumi by the shirt, "i told you, let's use all the open space!" sukuna tosses megumi into the trees, beginning to go after him.

you, however, are not far behind. you grab sukuna by the back of his neck and slam him into the concrete. you now stand in front of sukuna, blocking his path toward megumi.

sukuna coughs slightly as he stands up, "i must say, you are a clever white witch." you stare at him as he stares back at you, does he always have a twisted smile on his face? it's becoming quite annoying.

megumi now stands next to you. you don't see nue anywhere, megumi must have released him.

sukuna looks at him, "your shikigami are made from shadows, huh? it's a great technique, adaptable too." he looks between the both of you, "oh, i get it now. what a nice couple of love birds, both trying to protect a brat who is worth nothing."

megumi feels his breath catch in his throat for a second, embarrassed that he is being called out for his crush on you at this current moment. yet you are unfazed, stepping forward toward sukuna, "my brother is worth everything and more, you're just a jealous and old mother fucker who has never known anything other than hatred."

sukuna bellows out in laughter, "what a foolish witch, believing that love is something that everyone wants or needs. i-" sukuna is cut off by you speaking, the tone striking somewhere deep inside him. something he has not heard in centuries.

"i will shadow you for an eternity. i will follow you forever. everything you take and everything you harm, you will feel the grip of my hand. i will never let you go."

megumi is unnerved at the aura that now surrounds you. the hatred that spews from your lips and the way your eyes have now been covered in a sheet of white, it frightens him.

"i didn't know you had that in you, sister."

the white hue surrounding you disappears, all of the cursed energy you and megumi were exhibiting has now faded into the night air.

you smile in joy, your eyes brimming with tears of joy, "yuuji." you gasp out in relief, happy that your brother has returned to you.

but that smile of joy quickly disappears when your brother starts gushing blood out of his chest and mouth. the happy glow on your face, is replaced with a look of horror.

"i'm sorry, i'm almost done for." yuuji horsely speaks, yet there is a faint smile on his lips. he looks at fushiguro, "i know i won't have to worry about you, my sister, kugisaki, or gojo-sensei." yuuji's eyes begin to rollinto the back of his head as his body sways forward unsteadily, "live a long and healthy life."

yuuji falls to the floor, blood now coming out of him like a flood. you can't help but yell out in agony, falling to the floor with him. you grab yuuji and cradle him in your arms, not caring about all of the blood that stains your clothes.

megumi watches you, your screams are deafening and he can physically feel your pain. megumi cannot help the tears that escape his eyes, watching his best friend bleed out on the wet concrete. and you, the beautiful and fearless girl who has waltzed your way into his frigid heart, losing a part of her being.

megumi is harshly reminded that jujutsu sorcerers, they're just another cog in the wheel.

Information from the new JJK volume finally revealed to us something we've been dying to know: how do the rabbit shikigami work? How did Megumi tame them and how can they be killed?

Easy. There is one original rabbit with the symbol from the ten sacred treasures on it. You can tame and kill the rabbit shikigami by getting your hands on this one. We've also learned that Nue and Orochi share the same symbol (with Megumi's Nue it was hidden behind its mask, with Sukuna's Nue Gege had forgotten to draw it)

If you ask me, that two shikigami share the same symbol came about because Gege fucked up and gave the dogs two different ones even though they share only one spot in the 10 Shadows Technique. The only one that is missing now is Tiger Funeral.

Looking around on Twitter a little I came about some, let's say, interesting posts. One was about this panel with Sukuna where Kashimo leaped at him. The post was about Gojo seemingly being crushed under rubble:

As an avid One Piece fan who's reading the manga for more than a decade now, believe me when I tell you, that mangaka make mistakes in their drawings all the the time. Especially when they make tiny background images like this Sukuna and Gojo.

This scene in chapter 237 takes place about 30 seconds after Sukuna told Gojo that he will never forget him. Kashimo really didn't waste a single second after Gojo was cut to leap in. An off-panel collapse of a building so that rubble could fall on Gojo is unlikely here.

It's far more likely that Gege simply got a little lazy in drawing this background scene 😁 but even with additional rubble on Gojo, that wouldn't mean much. If we take the shapes above seriously than there is some concrete on Gojo's face and torso (if that is even supposed to be him). That's nothing that couldn't be pushed to the side with a foot. I forgot where that Twitter post was going with this but I don't see much relevance in rubble.

Sure.

Kushinadahime was the youngest of the eight daughters of Ashinazuchi and Tenazuchi. Kushinadahime was to be offered as a sacrifice to the eight-headed serpent Yamata-no-Orochi who had a sword inside of him, and who had already devoured seven beautiful maidens, but she was saved by Susanoo, who defeated Yamato-no-Orochi by cutting it to pieces with the Totsuka Sword.

Kishimoto used the legend of Kushinadahime as an influence during the confrontation between Orochimaru, Sasuke and Itachi.

The Eight-headed Serpent is obviously Orochimaru in the manga. His eight branches technique and the sword inside of him are clear references to the mythology. In the first panel we literally see Susanoo jutsu and Orochimaru facing each other. Orochimaru is shown here as eight-headed serpent who is trying to get Sasuke's body.

Yamata-no-Orochi was dragon-serpent, and later on Kishimoto made Kabuto "dragon" who also wanted Sasuke.

The Totsuka sword wielded by Susanoo jutsu is what defeats Orochimaru, just like in the mythology.

So who is the princess/goddess/maiden that needs to be saved from Yamata-no-Orochi? Well it is our Sasuke of course. Just like Kushinadahime is saved from her fate unlike the other maidens, Sasuke is saved from Orochimaru unlike all the other bodies the latter obtained.

As for Megumi.

Megumi is about to be sacrificed to Mahoraga. Just like all the previous daughters of the mountain god died as sacrifices to Yamata no Orochi in the mythology, the previous inheritors of the Ten Shadow Techique all died as sacrifice in order to summon Mahoraga.

What's kinda interesting is that Susanoo's role is given to the villain... Sukuna notes that Mahoraga bears resemblance to Yamato no Orochi. Gege brought up this mythology reference rather clearly.

Susanoo is a Japanese god representing natural disasters and calamities. Gege also mentioned once that Sukuna is like a natural disaster. Susanoo is a god that has unrivaled strength and power but is also very mischievous and pisses other gods off quite often. Sounds familiar...

However, when Susanoo learned that the mountain god couple's daughter Kushinadahime was about to be sacrificed to Yamata no Orochi, Susanoo decided that he will fight Yamata no Orochi to save Kushinadahime and take her as his wife. When you know Gege said Sukuna desires to have Megumi's existence for himself... and the Japanese meaning to what he said in the last screenshot (and an earlier one in season 1) what Sukuna said is like "you have bewitched me/you have made me fall for you Fushiguro Megumi"...

Susanoo then proceeded to fight Yamata no Orochi and cut it to many pieces. Kind of like Sukuna kept repeatedly cutting Mahoraga with his Malevolent Kitchen.

Surprising way Gege chose to use this legend... but I am impressed how these writers wove things like these in their stories.

If anyone sees this, hello there!! after that binding vow theory i have another one right here! this time its about my boy Megumi and his CT!

I dont want this to get too long again so I'm just gonna get right to it! First of all, this two pages from ch 13!

In this scene, we saw Megumi discover that he has access to a pocket dimension in the shadow realm. Which is very super cool! ((look at him, he's so happy (つ╥﹏╥)つ))

And this is all cool and all, but! I don't believe for a single second that this ability has been there the entire time and Megumi just never knew. Kids are curious, so there's no way that Megumi as a child just never accidentally slipped through his pocket shadow like that.

So where did he get this?

Here, my friend, is where the theory begins!

Chapter 9:

This was when Orochi died :'( and i think you can see now where I'm going with this ehe. Sukuna killing Orochi gave Megumi direct access to Orochi's power! Because Megumi discovered this ability right after the juvenile detention incident!

Now this could be hard copium since we don't really know much about Orochi.

This panel:

is the only one we have of it showing its power. And by this small panel, we can speculate that Orochi's power is shadow focused. But its just speculations!

When Shiro died, it combined with Kuro right after - because Kuro and Shiro are a pair! But when Orochi died where did it go?

hmm...

Now, i know that we saw Sukuna have access to Max Elephant's water jet - which was super very cool too - however, i think that one is different compared to how the shadow pocket integrated within Megumi entirely.

But! I dont think the shikigamis have to be dead for a user to borrow its ability; Sukuna was able to imitate Max Elephant's ability and Megumi, using Chimera Shadow Garden, was able to create shadow clones of himself (something akin to the rabbit's ability) all while the rabbit and the elephant are alive. Them being ultra dead (like orochi, agito, and makora) just gives the user complete and total control of the dead shikigami's ability. (....Probably!)

I think Gege had an author's note somewhere where he explains the passing of power for the shikigamis but i cant really find it right now.

I like to think that Megumi's shikigami are as miserable as he is.

Look at Nue when Sukuna summons him. Poor guy looks so stressed and wrecked, his eyes wide open looking like they're going to explode.

And the divine dogs just look like a lifeless black goo that is just another one of Sukuna's toys. Not even a form they have.

These two don't know Megumi and seem decent, but I bet they also share the same pain as the rabbits and the frogs. (Those frogs definitely love Megumi for the way they stick to him lol)

And I just read that the ten shadows technique when used by Sukuna purposely doesn't let the shikigami be free like they were with Megumi. Which leads me to think that if the shikigami we know (nue, the divine dogs, the rabbits, gama and max) would probably refuse to obey Sukuna because they are still connected with Megumi's soul. This is much worse.

Megumi grabbed your hand and looked seriously into your eyes. “Run!” he growled. As you both were running you heard Sukuna chasing you. His maniac laugh made you shiver. Finally you made it to the yard where Megumi stopped and pushed you behind his back. 

“Do not move until I say so!” he commanded. “Emerge from the darkness, blacker than darkness. Purify that which is impure.” he murmured.

You had no idea what he was doing, but the whole situation was terrifying. After he said the last word a strange, dark smudge appeared in the sky, spreading faster than anything you’ve seen before. It was getting dark and you were about to lose your cool.

“What the fuck is going on?” you hissed as you grabbed his shoulder.

“Listen!” Megumi turned around to face you. “We don’t have much time until he finds us.” he took his phone out of his pocket. “Take this, okay? If I die…”

“WHAT?!” you screamed.

“Fuck, Y/N. You need to listen to me!” he grabbed you by your shoulders. “If I die, you need to run as fast as you can. Understood? You need to get out of the curtain, it ends by the gate. When you cross it, the phone will work and you can call Gojo sensei. He will appear in a blink. Do you understand me?” 

“Why don’t we call him right now?” your eyes widened.

“It doesn’t work within the curtain and I promised him I was gonna protect you at all costs.” he took a deep breath. “Now, go and hide behind that building. And don’t do anything reckless!” he hugged you tight. 

Sukuna walked out with his hands in his pockets, clicking his tongue and chuckling. He was so sure he was going to get you. Megumi stood into his fighting stance and with shaky hands he gulped big. 

“I won’t let you get her!” he spat on the ground.

“You can’t stop me, kid.” Sukuna smirked.

“It’s not about whether I can…I have to do it!” he took a deep breath as he hooked his thumbs to summon Nue. A black shadow spreaded behind him along with a deafening scream and Nue finally appeared. The huge Shikigami attacked the demon king right away. 

And not just Nue but Megumi striked as well. Sukuna danced away with his hands still in his pockets. He played with the young sorcerer and it scared you to death. You were hiding behind that building but peeked as much as possible. 

“Interesting. You use Shikigami but you still come at me yourself?” he smirked. Megumi kept attacking, throwing countless punches but he blocked most of them. 

“More!” Sukuna laughed. “More! More!” he grabbed Megumi’s fist and pulled him closer. “Put more curse behind it when you strike me!” he hissed. As his punch hit Megumi’s face his lip ripped in an instant and blood ran down his jaw.  

“Orochi.” he growled, while putting his thumb against his ring finger. The Great Serpent appeared in the blink of an eye and got Sukuna right away. Lifting him up high in the sky.

“Gang up on him!” he yelled to his Shikigamis. Nue and Orochi worked together as much as they could. 

But everything was pointless. Sukuna spotted you as you kept peeking behind the wall. The second he made eye contact with you he stretched his arms and the serpent’s head and body simply blew up. He landed behind Megumi with his back facing him. So basically standing back to back to each other. Sukuna grabbed his coat and used a mocking tone. “Hey, what did I just say? Let’s use the open space!” 

Your eyes widened when Sukuna threw Megumi through the air. Punching, kicking him like he was a ragdoll. Even if he said you had to stay hidden you followed them. You knew you couldn’t help him, you weren’t a fighter, a sorcerer or anything. You were a simple girl who got into a world she never wanted to. But there was this boy who was willing to sacrifice his own life for your sake. So you had to do something, anything… 

Megumi was thrown against a huge brick wall, his back cracked and he fell to the ground. He sat there bleeding and with lack of energy. 

“You’re risking your life over a woman you don’t even know.” Sukuna clicked his tongue. 

He didn’t say anything, just tried to stand up and with shaky legs he stood into a fighting stance once again. A strange black and blue aura hugged him around and you felt something bad was going to happen. 

“So, you’re not giving up?” Sukuna stepped closer. “In that case…show me, Fushigiro Megumi!” he yelled. 

The ice cold look in his eyes was determined. Megumi made up his mind and he was willing to do anything to save you. “Sacred treasure swig and ring, Eight Grip!” he said. His aura flamed up for a second but it faded away almost immediately. He didn’t have enough energy to pull any more attacks, he was exhausted and injured.

“Well, well, well…” Sukuna mocked him once again. “It seems it’s time for you to die.”

When you heard this sentence your body tensed, you started to panic and tried to find out something, anything to help Megumi.

“Wait!” you screamed. “Please, wait!” you walked closer to them. Both of them snapped their faces and stared at you. 

“Y/N! I told you…”Megumi coughed up some blood.

“Spare his life, I’m begging you.” you kept walking and stood next to Sukuna.

“Hmm… you wanna save him? Then come with me, darling.” he smirked at you.

“If I do that…”

“NO!” Megumi screamed but you took no notice of his struggling.

“If I do that, do you promise me that he’ll live?” you gulped big.

“You have my word.” Sukuna held out his hand to you.

“Megumi.” you turned to the injured boy. “Please tell Satoru that I’m sorry for being so cold and mean to him. And tell him that he’ll always be my Sun.” you took Sukuna’s hand and let him take you away immediately. 

You heard Megumi’s desperate scream for a while until it faded away completely.

Arvis was wandering around the town, blowing up buildings, killing innocent civilians like it was all natural. Screaming, flames, and the smell of burnt bodies followed him everywhere. It didn’t take long until a manager called Gojo and informed him they found the sorcerer. 

Not long after the call Satoru and all his team appeared on a street of Kyoto. Arvis stood only a few meters away from them. 

“Oh, hello!” Arvis smiled with a maniac look in his eyes. 

“I’ll handle him myself.” Gojo turned to the others. “Please take care of the injured ones.” With one serious nod they left.

“Where’s Sukuna?” growled the white haired sorcerer. 

“Exactly where he’s supposed to be.” Arvis mocked him.

“You know I’m going to kill for this, right?” Gojo took a deep breath.

“Well, I think…” Arvis was about to say something cheeky when his phone started to ring. “Just a second.” he raised his index finger. “I need to take this call.” he grabbed the device. “You got her? Just like that?” he laughed out loud. “Great, I’ll be there right away.” he canceled the call and opened a portal instantly.

“Wait!” Gojo yelled but he was already gone. Your man knew he was talking about you. He clapped his palms immediately and appeared in the facility just a second after. 

Megumi sat on the ground, covered with blood, breathing heavily. “I’m so sorry.” he cried out when he sensed Gojo’s presence. “I’m so sorry, sensei. I tried everything, but she…” his voice cracked.

“What the fuck happened?” Satoru rushed to the boy. “Talk to me, goddamnit!”

“Sukuna was about to kill me and Y/N… She offered to leave with him, if he’d spare my life.”

“WHAT?!”

“She told me to tell you something.” Megumi sighed. “She said she was sorry to be cold and mean to you lately. And she said you were always going to be her Sun.” he started to snob. 

Gojo’s desperate scream was heard through the air.

The bitter taste of defeat, Megumi remembered that. A belly full of blood and guilt. A heart which wanted to tear itself apart upon seeing Yuuji die with a hollow chest cavity, Megumi remembered every detail. What he could not recall however, was carrying the limp and macabre body of their fallen friend to their driver nor the gruesome drive back to Tokyo's Jujutsu Technical campus . . nor the couple of days proceeding the death — a mess of regrets and mourning which could not take full shape. Was Nobara as broken up about it as he? Megumi suffered on three levels having lost Orochi, Shiro, and, most grievous, failing to protect Yuuji.

With gloom clinging into every pore of his body, the onyx haired teenager emerged from the hermit-like dormancy of his room and attempted to move through the shared living area as stealthily as a shadow. Reclusive plans were shattered the instant eye contact was accidentally initiated from across the room. He didn't know how to feel, he didn't know how to react; he always guarded his feelings from the outside world and even from his own self. Gaze dropped to the wooden floor, and the teenager shuffled his feet with uncomfortable energy. ❛ How are . . you . . Kugisaki? ❜

just how long had it been since she allowed herself to feel so utterly saddened by something well out of her control? only twice: this was one time, a bygone happening in her past ... when saori's parents saw it fit to move her out of the village and away from nobara because of all the harrassment received due to them not being from there, them being gossipped about, them sticking out as much as she in their little non-jujutsushi way. them being outsiders.

she had been age seven then and at age seven, saori and her family were gone.

at an age that young, being the jujutsushi child that she was, emotional regulation was something that she was taught with a more refined finesse. it'd had spell disastrous if she ended up cursing the villagers for their act of transgession against her childhood friend, so she did what all children did when their hearts were broken and she cried in front of saori's abandoned home instead, hand holding fumi's.

the seat she reserved for saori became empty, vacant, and the pain twisting her heart like a knife stab turned into resolve over the years. sure, fumi was still seated at her table but it wasn't the same. it wasn't like saori died or anything, and she promised to meet up with both her and fumi when she got to tōkyō, but still — —

it's been near a week or so following itadori's demise and sleep doesn't find nobara any easier than it did a few days ago. put out early in their mission, she had to learn of its aftermath through a visit from fushiguro while recovering in the hospital from injuries sustained on their mission in eishu.

just how long had it been since she allowed herself to feel so utterly saddened by something well out of her control? only twice: this was the one other time. only more recent and the stakes raised were higher, the probability of meeting again lesser because death was always hot on your heels.

itadori had died and left their group down to just them two, only her and fushiguro. but the seat itadori dragged to her table of his own volition was one decidedly bolted to the floor by none other than nobara herself. she puts up a good front, attends classes with as straight a face she could manage, but at night instead of scrolling social media she'd sometimes find herself poring over the text thread in the groupchat she shared with fushiguro and itadori.

instead of reading messages over and over that equally made you cry or laugh, any sane person would have just left, however nobara is crazy and honestly? it'd feel a little wrong leaving. kinda like an unspoken betrayal, so no: she wouldn't. still groggy with sleep and emerged from her room, palms knead her eyes in an attempt to further wake herself up. a pick-me-up was so needed and she moves, a young woman with purpose, only to pause when:

she sees that familiar dark haired mop of spikes. fushiguro, he'd been there when itadori had ... they both felt his loss, were kindred in that. isn't it tragicomic how history repeats itself? fushiguro's more visibly shaken up about it than she is and she doesn't blame him. after all, he witnessed the ordeal and it'd been the first time he'd lost a classmate in the way he did. the way they both did.

“ i'm ... okay, but jeez, you look like you haven't slept a wink. wanna go get coffee with me? it'll be my treat just this one time. ”
