I miss the messy bun so much 😭 don't love the sleeked back she's been doing recently

Yeah sometimes I think it works and other times I think it's a miss. For instance, this ballerina bun she did way back in early 2019 was SO stinking cute and I'm so sad she hasn't repeated it since :(

This sleek ponytail she wore to Invictus earlier this year works really well for me because the rest of the outfit is also giving off that extremely polished, put-together look, what with the preppy vintage jacket and all that gold hardware.

But then like all these tight ass ponytails and buns she's been churning out since she left the royals, especially low and parted at the forehead, I don't know they just don't work for me. I think maybe it's because she has extremely soft, round facial features, that the sleek up-dos are just too severe on her (especially when paired with the very dark makeup that I've already said I don't love on her).

And that's not even starting on all the instances of this hairstyle we've seen in all the Zoom calls and home video appearances we've been working with this era.

Like does she look gorgeous in all of the above photos? Yes, obviously. But at the same time . . .

Maybe it's the fact that she wore it so much as a royal that makes her want to distance herself from that hairstyle now. Not exactly fond memories, I suppose. But . . . it was your signature look for a reason, girl. Don't let them take away our heritage PLEASE 🤧🤧🤧

I really think white people, non-Black POC, and Black men need to leave Black women alone when it comes to our hair. How y’all always mad when Black women straighten their hair, wear wigs, weaves, extensions, and color it. But when we get natural styles and wear our hair the way it grows out of our heads, you damn sure are quiet when we’re bullied, harassed, and degraded because of it. That’s on top of the fact that we run the risk of being suspended from school, fired from jobs, and being called a “nappy head”. So…my question is: WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT FROM US?!?!?

Before we get into it, the Emmys are tomorrow so any exclusive attention Harry or Meghan might get will be quickly pushed out of the news cycle by the red carpet. (If you're not familiar, the Emmys are the E in EGOT and recognize accomplishment in television. This year's ceremony is hosted by Eugene and Dan Levy and will mark the 25th anniversary of one of my favorite shows of all-time, The West Wing.)
