Thinking about witch hat atelier and the sheer level of damage Dor-15/Doris from Meet the Robinsons would cause to that ecosystem. <3

If Meet the Robinsons came out today there’d be so much sexy human fanart of Doris.

Like she’d be in a suit with robot arms coming out of her back or something

Do you have Dor-15 future headcanons? 🥺🥺🥺
You’d better BET! These aren’t really headcanons, more of just an AU. [since I enjoy dystopia and we need more dark AUs fr].
The Robinsons were split into two groups - controlled and sentient.
The Robinsons who were at risk of ‘defying’ Dor-15s orders were kept in the zombie mode we see in the movie.
Some Robinsons were kept sentient with the ‘controlled’ ones being used as blackmail.
’Disobey and I’ll terminate them’ kinda stuff.
That was possible as well - the helping hats physically attached to one’s spinal cord and was capable of instant execution at the click of a button.
I did four characters here, lmk if you want more. (And if so, who?) :
Gaston Framagucci.
Works for Dor-15 the most reluctantly.
Became irritably and almost hyper-aggressive.
Doesnt talk a lot in fear of yelling or sounding too upset.
Keeps the other Robinsons in check.
Has the most weaponry, but despite his aggressive attitude would rather die than hurt his family.
Stays up all night trying to plan ways to get everyone out of this mess.
He uses his cannons as defenses for the house despite the lack of enemies. They definitely don’t shoot meatballs anymore.
He also uses his engineering tech to create his own weapons, as well as sabotage Dor-15s weapons to temporarily inconvenience it.
Wears a large pair of spiked metal gauntlets that give him insane slicing and strength ability, but hinder his ability to work with anything small or intricate.
He hates them, but might be terminated for refusing to wear them.
Art Framagucci.
The most compliant of the Robinsons.
Its unclear why somebody so justice filled would be so willing to work for Dor-15, but as somebody who’s seen wars on other planets, he’s the most aware of the risks of a coop.
Also doesn’t talk. At all. Has voted for pure silence.
Sent to do the most violent tasks of the group, hovering his UFO over industrial areas and making sure everyone is doing their job.
Ordered to terminate those who don’t.
Silently pretends he doesn’t notice younger people who manage to escape.
He spends a lot of time watching the controlled Robinsons, who are just mindlessly set to forever maintain the house.
Hes contemplated removing their hats a thousand times, but after what happened to Tallulah he chooses not to.
Laszlo Robinson.
Laszlo. He’s sure there. Yep.
Laszo doesn’t have a job, but he’s harmless. Objectively.
Tallulah went down fighting and eventually got terminated - one of the only two Robinsons to die.
Laszlo didn’t really object any of Dor-15 orders after that. In fact, he seemed too enthusiastic.
It scared literally everyone, and he was left alone. He spends almost all day and night in his art gallery.
Its unclear though if he’s actually crazy or simply pretending to be so to avoid being put under control.
Paints the most horrific sh!t.
Utilizes his paint gun as a flamethrower by using flammable paints, and attaching a second trigger for a lighter.
Hasn’t killed any humans - torched some frogs though.
Fritz and Petunia.
Fritz is also jobless. He was originally going to be a house slave, but Laszlo silently threatened the house with arson when the recommendation of assigning Fritz a hat came up.
Fritz hasn’t changed at all. He tries to lock himself in his room as much as possible to avoid seeing the house.
Hes a lot more jumpy around everyone. He was never super close to Art, Gaston’s hostility unnerves him, and he’s silently a bit heartbroken seeing Laszlos demeanor.
Petunia is bolted to his hand an cannot be removed.
She isn’t a puppet anymore, instead containing a microchip allowing her her own - limited - sentience.
Shes a thousand times worse to Fritz. She’s only sentient to keep Fritz scared and compliment.
She has claws now, and will scratch Fritz up when slightly upset.
Shes overall very aggressive, but otherwise the same.
Due to her being bolted to Fritz’s arm, when she moves too much it hurts him greatly.
Gaston has considered duct taping her mouth because she is ANNOYING.

I think it would've been more startling if the Doris-verse in Meet the Robinsons had been sterile and cold instead of a gross wasteland. Stark black buildings with harsh neon reds with lines of clinical, mechanical workers without any ounce of creativity would have been just as startling a contrast to the whimsical Robinson future

How much guilt do you think Cornelius is feeling right now ?
Like, he create that hat who take control over the world, making people life (and his family's life) miserable AND he also lost his son.
There are so much angst to unpack here, for every member of the family.

Day 30!!! AAAAHHHH WE MADE IT!!!!!! THIS EVENT WAS SO FUN AND EVERYONE DID SO WELL!!!!! ❤️💜🧡💙
These designs were a Meet the Robinsons AU that I fumbled Bc I got overwhelmed w options fjsjjd Mikey was Goob (kinda?) and RaMona kids went back in time to hunt him down to make their fam whole again. It spirals Bc the hat (Doris) still exists and was invented by Donnie. She still wanted revenge on Donnie (and Leo and Raph) Bc they tried to “kill” her. Alas I got lost in the details and plot so I had to drop it 😔 anyways more info on the kids below
Jennika: Just as Raphael was his father’s son Jennika is her father’s daughter. Both the good and the not so good qualities jumbled together to make him go Gray as he had done for Splinter. I love seeing the analysis where ppl show Raph and Splinter were near copies of eachother and wanted to play on that with Jennika. The story will be diff obvi as Jennika won’t be a raphael clone that’d be boring. She has her own dreams and destiny which conflict w Raphael’s overprotective parenting and worry which went overdrive after Mikey’s disappearance.
Venus: imagine living in the shadow of someone ya never even met and ur constantly second guessing if ur acting in such a way in order to keep ur fam happy or if u r truly living as urself. Rip to Venus she is a ray of sunshine and optimism with a flair for rustling up good natured trouble which often invokes her loved ones to draw connections to Mikey. Venus is a people pleaser to a drastically toxic point where she’ll ignore all of her own issues and worth so long as her loved one(s) are doing ok. Shes learning magic from Shinigami and is killing it ✨
Y’thann: most likely to plan and win an all out war! He’s very analytical and quick thinker however he’s the most arrogant little shit you would ever meet. No one would ever believe you tho as he’s also an incredible lair and a momma’s boy. Often found hanging around Uncle Donnie’s lab learning and building tech and weapons. He prefers salamandrian stuff and loves training with his mother. He gets away with so much Jennika loathes him for it as she is constantly thrown under the bus for it.
Koya is their cool/insane older cousin. Sorry Koya fans she isn’t a mutant but she does have a pet falcon named Koya JR.
April/Donnie/Casey have a kid that Casey found and took home but never designed her rip
Leo has the highest honor of being AroAce w no children Bc he’s got a hoard of nieces and nephews to train and care for
Not the best description but that’s the jist my notes on this are all over the place as I slowly lost my mind and plot

Fun Facts for the MTR fandom:
--The time machine does indeed have a hidden mickey on it, but no where in the current cut of the film can it be seen. --Mildred was originally Caucasian in early versions of the film. --In one version of the film, Wilbur dies. --Aunt Billie at one point was designed in a way that made her look like an old grandma. --One early version of the script involved going to a Banana Cream Pie planet. --MTR started as a live action project. --One version of the film featured a pillow fight between the Robinson family members. --Doris was not always the Big Bad Villain that she is today. BHG was originally the Big Bad Villain and he had a name: Mortimer Klinch or Morpheus Pink. Both names were considered. (May have to spellcheck those but I know I have the pronunciations correct.) --The wrap party for the film was held on the roof of the Petersen Automotive Museum (pre-remodel). --The premiere had spaghetti and meatballs :) --The director and his family were invited to Club 33 at one point for a Meet the Robinsons themed party and the restaurant served both spaghetti/meatballs and pbj for the event. (Lewis and Wilbur were also there to greet guests) --The director has a giant time machine statue (with figures of Lewis and Wilbur inside it) in his home. Originally, the figure was hanging inside one of the Disney studio buildings. Now it's in the corner of his living room! --The 10th anniversary party of the film featured a customized cake that was designed in the shape of the number "10", with the 1 made to look like the orphanage building, and the 0 decorated to look like Future City.

The Prodigal Son
Fritz is the only one left. He knows it's time to go. He asks to say goodbye to his son one last time.
(Warning - this ficlet is a bit dark. Read at your own risk)
------------
Soundtrack recommended for best experience: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLfkhY3IxpU
------------
He’d been expecting this day to come for quite some time now… but that didn’t make it any easier.
There was nothing easy about watching the broken husk of your child standing before you.
------------------------
Their group had been dwindling for a while. His son and daughter had been taken by those parasitic hats months ago. Months? Years? He couldn't remember. The sky was so overcome with smoke and pollution, there was no telling the day from the night.
Fritz had gone out alone for supplies and had returned to the destroyed remains of what was left of the once lively Robinson house. It had been converted to a fallout shelter at the beginning of the end of the world.
But now, that little light had been snuffed out by the hats. That’s all those hats do.
Take.
They take and take and never give anything back. They took the city, they took the people, they took the world, and they took every living thing in it.
And yet they wanted more.
Moments ago, Fritz had stepped into the dark space, quietly calling out to the others. No answer came. They were gone. Enslaved. More mindless workers for the parasites that ran the world straight to hell.
Fritz looked around, suddenly noticing the figure waiting in the darkness for him. Watching him, even if he wasn’t exactly seeing him. Fritz was too far into the room to make a break for it. Even if he did… did it matter? Now that the others are gone…
Fritz was the only one left.
“I…” His voice wavered. “...I see you.”
With a low hum, the signature red light of a helping hat lit up in the darkness. The figure began to move closer, the sound of shoes not clacking, but dragging on the ground as he approached. One more of those hats hovered broodingly next to him, following closely. Fritz knew it would be for him.
When the figure got close enough, Fritz felt his eyes well with tears.
It was his son.
Laszlo stood before him, slack-jawed and braindead, filthy from the dirt and pollution and muck that covered every square inch of this damn city. He smelled heavily of smoke from the ever burning furnaces he had to help run. It was either those or the coal mines.
Though the hat already covered his eyes, his dirty red hair hung down across parts of his face. His skin was a sickly pale color, and he was dangerously malnourished and weak. His father didn’t need to see his face to see he was completely exhausted. Just another slave to those cold, metallic parasites.
It broke Fritz’s heart.
Every few seconds, Laszlo would twitch slightly - even if just a head tilt or one of his fingers twitching. The man knew it was his son trying to fight back. He was still in there, he knew.
Even if there was little he could do, he was aware of what was happening. He knew his dad was in danger, and he was using the little strength he had left to fight.
Laszlo wheezed slightly. Fritz blinked. He was trying to speak. The artist wasn’t able to form coherent words, only small sounds. But it didn’t matter... Fritz understood what he was trying to say.
“Mmn srr-”
“It’s okay,” He hid the despair in his voice for the young man’s sake. He had to be strong for him.
“It’s okay. You have nothing to be sorry for.”
Fritz pulled the backpack off his back and set it on the ground. Moving slowly, he kneeled down to dig around for a bottle of water and a rag. The lone hat began to move towards him and - despite nearly jumping out of his skin - Fritz put up a quick hand.
“Please. I know you’re going to take me.. and… I’m not going to stop you. But if this is the last moment I get to share with my son, at least let me say goodbye.”
Some beeps and whirs came from the hat. There was no telling what it said, but it stayed put. It seemed she allowed it.
He uncapped the bottle of clean water and carefully held it up for the artist to drink. Even through the hat’s control, he could tell it was very appreciated. After that, he took what was left of the water and wet the rag. Reaching up, he gently cleaned the dirt from his son’s face, moving his hair to the side so it was out of the way. For a moment, just a moment, it felt just like when his son was little, and Fritz used to clean dried paint off his face.
“There you are. I missed you,” Fritz smiled sadly. “Every day. Every single day.”
Fritz wanted so desperately to ask about Tallulah. To make sure she was okay. But he knew he couldn’t. Laszlo could barely move, let alone speak. He just wanted his children to be okay.
…But it was too late for that now.
Knowing it was time to go, Fritz reached forward and pulled his son into one last hug.
Laszlo began to wheeze again. “Ah- l… lv..”
“Shh… I love you too.”
Fritz held him tight, wishing he could take it all away. All the pain, all the hurt, all the fear… all of it.
Gently, Laszlo managed to get enough control to rest his chin on his dad’s shoulder. Fritz felt himself begin to cry that time. He couldn’t stop it, and he didn’t care. He rocked them both slightly, relishing in these final moments.
He couldn’t see the tears pouring down his son’s face, either. He couldn’t see the way his son’s face was contorted in grief for his father. For his sister. For his family. For the world.
“Okay. Go ahead.” Fritz spoke to the machine.
A couple beeps sounded in response and the hat settled itself atop the man’s head, covering his eyes.
He felt the soft fabric of the hat on his head.
He felt his son’s heart beating against his own.
And then he felt nothing at all.
Yes, the prodigal son had returned. There were no parties or celebrations. Just a final moment between a father and son. No banquets or feasts, only a small drink of water. There was no festival, only a warm embrace.
Laszlo wouldn’t have traded it for anything.
