Getting to meat and potatoes of it all, i was not expecting anything related to sig's demon bullshit from this game whatsoever but i am very happy that this is where the story is going! Sig fans are fucking feasting tonight babyyy

I was thinking while watching nenilein's vods when i got to maybe ringo's story? I wanna say? That the main reason meena would have access to sig's powers in the first place is because they became friends and lemres's story confirmed that but also that sig has the sleep schedule of a goddamn cat so he probably made friends with her through that and meena was probably like "i wanna make everybody's dreams come true but im not powerful enough to do so :(((" and sig was like "oh hey my arm's pretty powerful, wanna borrow some of my magic?" And she was like :0000 and then the opening cutscene happened and all hell broke loose (cuz like, how was she supposed to know that ancient demonic magic is hard to control)

Also i loved meena right from the start and it didnt seem like she had bad intentions at all though her design does look a little hodgepodged together tbh,, so im a little sad everybody was quick to jump to the gun that she was evil or whatever, that's just 5 year old who has too much power to know how to use it, dont be mean to them,

Of course, the amitie bullshit is also getting me 👀👀👀👀 though of course not nearly as much but like wtf!!! Lore lore lore lore lore!!!!!!!!! I hope whatever funny powers her hat is channeling? Providing? Whatever it does, truly helps her save sig in the end

Also i miss my baby boy so much, stop being rude, stop being a penis, bring back my lil bug man

Like, side note: it's very funny how im flipflopping between two fandoms where reincarnations and identities and dark magical bullshit are embedded into the antagonists' whole deal it's like whoa! Also it helps that two fanfics ive read from both fandoms help add more fuel to the fire for me (dramaturgy for arc-v, a soul rended a soul mended for puyo)

All this to say i am so fucking excited about where this story is going like there was NO indication that sig was gonna be the antagonist here WHATSOEVER and i am Here for it, sega dont spoil your games challenge passed once again, it is all just.. So Much™️ and i have been obsessively thinking about sig puyo puyo and his demonic dark side for the past 3 days now ok rambling over now buh byee

Japanese gaming websites have released a Summary of Puyo Puyo Puzzle Pop's plot

I took the freedom to translate it

Amitie wakes up, feeling like somebody was talking to her in a dream. A strange feeling in her chest, she decides to go on one of her usual walks to clear her head, meets Arle and Carbuncle by the roadside and decides to have a Puyo Battle with them. When she does so, the group suddenly encounters Ringo, who isn't even supposed to be in this world right now. That is when a little creature named "Meena" appears, introducing themself as the "Guide of the Dream Realm", telling them "You are all currently in the Realm of Dreams." After a conversation with Amitie's senior from another school, the Comet Warlock Lemres, Amitie and her friends learn that Meena had, to their delight, apparently just been lent a huge amount of magical power from somebody, but as they are unable to control such power it is possible that the knock-on effect of their actions has caused everyone to become trapped in the realm of dreams. Meena must have a "accomplice" to blame for all this, and by Puyo battling people maybe it will be possible to learn who is acting suspicious enough to be the accomplice in question. The adventure to escape the Realm of Dreams starts here!

Further updates down the line are planned to add the rest of the plot.
