Thunderful and Studio Fizbin Announce Reignbreaker, a "Medievalpunk" Action Game

At Gamescom Opening Night Live, Thunderful and developer Studio Fizbin unveiled Reignbreaker, a roguelike action game that as seen in the announcement trailer at the link here, might definitely give off some vibes of the likes of Hades, but it becomes clear quite soon that the game has its own unique world that blends together a bit of the modern world with the more hardcore, gritty elements of medieval times (the era, not the restaurant).

I just thought of a funny as hell interaction with Daroach and Dreamy Gear Daroach meeting Quick Draw Duel Daroach (That's the name of the novel coming this March) and it goes something like this

Daroach: Ah, so I hear that we're going to have another alternative universe version of ourselves, I'll say it's pretty exciting.

Dreamy Gear Daroach: Indeed it is! Though I do wonder whatever shall he be like? Mayhaps a possible Capepunk, Medievalpunk or maybe even Bronzepunk version of ourselves? Oh I do cannot wait to meet him! I do hope though that he is refined and gentlemanly like us.

EXCITING DOUBLE BIRD EVENT! and here we get the fun time of describing the Difference between the sharpe and foth ladyhawke stories, and also why the sharpe one has been so much easier to write.

so the film Ladyhawke, in which both these stories are based, is about a curse placed on a pair of semi-star-crossed lovers, involving day-night animal transformations that don't overlap with the other half of the duo. but a lot of Ladyhawke's humor and charm proves to come from the fact that it's told from an outside perspective — a silly fellow with a penchant for theft, prison breaks, and general mischief. and thus, it's a much smoother journey to allow the Chosen Men to scamper about low-fantasy vaguely-medievalpunk au-Spain...

Sharpe stared at him in mixed confusion and dismay, and Harris determined that he’d speak his piece more fully this time. “Well, you see, it was that you up and vanished, and so we figured that we ought to go and find you.” “And it’d be helpful, wouldn’t it, if we did!” put in Perkins. “We didn’t mean to be gone long,” said Hagman, the only one out of the four of them to display even a smidgen of guilt. “And we wouldn’t have been, if he hadn’t—“ “—if you hadn’t broken into the—“ “—well, you’re the one who—“ “—you and your damned rum—“ “…and that’s how we went and got ourselves arrested,” finished Harris, as if Sharpe had been able to determine the slightest through-line of truth in the cacophony of conflicting stories. “But we got out again, as you see.” The four Chosen Men, the last remnants of Richard Sharpe’s final command, looked at their officer proudly, quite as if they expected to be congratulated for their unexcused jaunt off from the army and their trip in through one side of a prison and out the other.

I do not get it. Suddenly we're inserting commentary about the crisis of faith and what not. Good to see Mookie is back on riding his "Everything MUST BE AN ALLEGORY" horse.

This is why the redemption arc of these two blows serious ass. We're trying to make these two applicable to real life people going through a moment of self-reflection. It goes all the way back to fucking Stonewater rape scene. If you are not good at writing allegories, don't write them. You're capable of writing a good story. Hell you can keep your antiauthoritarianist themes. I just don't know why Mookie wants Dominic Deegan to be this big satire piece on world issues as opposed to being a mix and match of epic ideas with maybe some shades of medievalpunk thrown in.

In the past pages of history our legends of myth and literature have been consistently constrained to the written word and acting play of dramatic theater. However in the modern day we enjoy our leisure within vast digital worlds as endless stories of meta-mythology immerse the participant far beyond any technology we've ever seen. Whether the medium is virtual reality or digital smartphone apps one cannot deny the seemingly infinite avenues of entertainment offered to the average traveller of our interconnected metaverse

Today's piece explores a similar theme whilst simultaneously merging the genre Punk with a historic Medieval influence which births the unique subgenre of "MedievalPunk" unknown to the average viewer

.

A gothic style of architectural design can be identified throughout the setting of the work as titanous tiered arches tie together at striking points which tear into the sky without a hint of hesitation. Further characteristics of the Gothic style are large incandescent stained glass windows as hints of the flying buttress hides behind the varying levels of lively light and color. Varying degrees of purple pass a baton to the lightly misted magenta sky as the blue trim serves as a symbolic accent which frames and elevates the form of each surrounding building in a further foundational display of depth and detailed distance. In the space of this work we notice our main subject interrupting the boundary denoting a separation between the closely positioned pub and the tall buildings which fade away in the dark distance. Textures in this piece range heavily from the harsh pointed architectural design to the soft reflective surface of the soaked streets which strike the viewer's eye in a stunning translation of its surrounding magenta lights

Although our knight stands protected in fully aligned armor his silhouette holds a high degree of tension as the pose successfully calls the viewer's attention to a degree shockingly similar to the brightest lights lined on the canvas

.

Overall this hybridized piece of render and digital paint displays the merge of the genre Punk with heavy Medieval and Gothic styles as well as Neon Cyberpunk themes which craft the Magenta MedievalPunk in a dream-like experience bridging our increasingly incandescent future with the revival of archaic styles lost the past
