Got my hands on a Ultra Analysis BNHA book from a library
Some points I liked (I focused more on 1B since they don't get a lot of attention)
1B once had a Tetsutetsu BBQ. They heated him up and cooked food on him. He proceeds to ruin it when he declares his sweat is the salt to their food
Yui is canonically the prettiest first-year
Mineta has no sex appeal at all, but he thinks being a hero will make him lucky
Class B does respect Monoma. He's sharp-minded, witty, and has a way with words
Monoma sometimes wanders into 1A's dorm just to throw down a mean speech, and heads back to 1B
Juzo probably isn't helping Monoma's confrontations with 1A, since he just always asks him why he can't say it to their faces whenever Monoma complains about them
Shiozaki tries to be polite even in a fight
Pony hosts anime parties, so 1B knows a lot about anime. Vice-versa, they teach her Japanese, and everything nasty is Monoma's fault
Tokage was a gyaru
Tsuburuaba, Kaibara, and Kuroiro get worked up whenever they talk about girls
Manga likes Kenranzaki
Awase's family runs a small factory. He also restrains Monoma whenever Kendo isn't available
1B likes hearing Rin say "Aiyah", so he does it for them
Kamakiri is obsessed with cutting into things
Class B's play was really successful
Tamaki is scared of Kirishima's energy
1C was planning a send-off party for Shinsou for his upcoming hero transfer. They didn't doubt he would make it, ever since the Sports Festival
Shishikura (meatball Shiketsu boy) might've chosen Shiketsu because he likes the uniform's hat
Nakagame and Yo are dating
Tsuyu's family gets to spend a lot of time together now, since their parents' busy jobs have calmed down
Tsubasa (devil wing kid in Midoriya's memories) suspiciously lost touch with Midoriya and Bakugo in middle school (his Wiki page confirms Garaki - his grandfather - turned him into a Nomu)
Torino likes goofy gags. This rubs off on All Might (ex. when Midoriya thought he died when Torino fell with ketchup. People don't know whether to laugh or be concerned)
Nighteye has yellow streaks in his hair as a homage to All Might
Nezu likes worming into tight, dark places, so he likes Aizawa's scarf. They went into detail, describing why Nezu likes it, such as material to crawling in, etc.
Recovery Girl has to travel around Japan regularly to help people with her Quirk (as in, she uses her Quirk to help them. Healing Quirks are SO rare)
Hojo, Tabe, and Sestuno are kept in the same jail, so at least they're not separated
#wish i had vestiges other than nana but even she isnt a lot of info here#since the book ends with villains from the overhaul arc i think thats where the series was when the book published#im not doing the math but the book was 2019#also i am not tagging all these characters. thats gonna throw the limit on the floor and give me nothing to work with#1b#class 1b#1-b#class 1-b#spoilers#boku no hero academia#bnha#my hero academia#mha#mha spoilers#bnha spoilers#ultra analysis book#a limit of 30 tags and 1b alone is 20 ppl? no thank u#recovery girl's Quirk is actually the ideal typical heal ability you see on fantasy series#magically heal cuts and wounds? in a quirk-way we need a way to explain it#and recovery girl's quirk is the best way to explain it: she speeds up a body's healing process#thats just what happens when u use healing magic or something in a TV show#this was my explanation for why a pokemon cant use healing moves on broken bones (HC stuff for a fanfic) before i made the connection about#recovery girl being ideal in her quirk#because if u use it on a bone to speed up the healing. it might heal incorrectly or beclme cancerous instead#so recovery girl is just “natural healing of the body” rather than “i speed up ur bodys natural stuff”#so ur cells dont multiply so fast and wrong that u now have a tumor or cancer#do i know if these points are in their wiki pages? no. honestly im not going through their pages i just think these are interesting facts#neito monoma#hitoshi shinsou#yui kodai (yup tag limit immediately)

Cursed BNHA takes 4
Mic is banned from riding rollercoasters because, if he screams, everyone is doomed.
Class 1B made Emo Vigilante Deku memes from blurry news segments.
Koda bribes Aizawa into giving him extra credit by calling cats into the classroom.
Toga & Twice convinced Shigaraki to touch sliced potatoes for a fraction of a second, to remove the moisture, so they could have potato chips.
Bakugo got detention for threatening to use Tokoyami as a feather duster
Aoyama got 1A addicted to grilled cheese sandwiches, including Bakugo who’s sandwich was made with Jalapeño Pepper Jack.
Tokoyami molts his feathers like a bluejay (google it)
Shoji’s Dorm Chore is carrying in the grocery bags (many arms).
Sato made Fropy a ‘Forg’ cake for her birthday
Miss Joke got photos of Bakugo when he was turned into a meatball from the hero exams & her students made merch of it.
Todoroki tried to fight Bakugo over texting Fyumi for more recipes.
If Mic has a student with an insect quirk, he makes sure Froppy is in the same class for intimidation purposes.
Kirishima once got detention & had to sit in the school zen garden as one of the rocks.
At the end of the year Aizawa brought all 32 of his cats into class & pulled them out of his sleeping bag, like a clown car.
The Sludge Villain from chapter 1 is actually Deku’s Dad.

you're gonna hear about my quirk theory you have no choice enjoy :3
So, how would quirks change basic biology? Yea, you have wings, but how does that affect your bone structure? how do your feathers regrow? how are your cells and dna able to repair your wings even though it isn't in basic human functions? CAN you repair your wings because it's not in basic human functions? What about horns? how does that change your bone structure? and with things like detaching body parts, how does that change or hurt organs? Like when kirishima got turned into a meatball, how did that work? did his organs and bones just become like soft and squishy? if so, how does the quirk turn those things to be soft and squishy?
so my theory is that as superpowers progressed, evolution happened too, aside from superpowers. as more and more quirks appeared, bodies adapted to being able to handle more things--pain tolerances went up, maybe even there were less nerves in the body, regeneration of cells was faster, stuff like that. But, that doesn't account for things like with what happened with kirishima, or does it?
I think that most quirks have a chemical aspect to it. With that quirk, as it physically changed the body, it changed the chemical makeup of the bones and muscles too, changing their rigid-likeness. And the reason the quirk has a time limit is because the chemical makeup change only lasts for so long: tying into the extremely fast regeneration of cells. And with Kirishima's quirk, the chemical composition of his cells would change to take on more durable properties, for example, like an armadillo's scales.
With Shoji's quirk, I think he would be able to handle a ton of pain. Because the teeth and eyes and bones all need to come from somewhere, right? so i think that shoji's quirk isn't really dupli-arms, but rather the ability to regenerate almost instantly, to the point he can grow extra appendages. but because of society and the lack of thought into this kind of stuff, he just assumed he could grow extra appendages.
But, what about Shoji's natural dupliarms? How is that explained? Well, it's said in the manga that Shoji's parents "didn't have arms like his", so let's assume that Shoji was born with his extra arms. And after literally 30 minutes of straight calculations I have given up because there is not enough information on the internet (HOW MANY CELLS IN AN ARM. NOT JUST THE SURFACE AREA, THE ARM. AND HOW BIG IS ONE OF SHOJIS EXTRA APPENDAGES. AND HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GROW IT DAMMIT. I NEED THESE ANSWERS FOR CALCULATIONS), but from the entire 30 minutes of pain I was able to gauge that not only do I have extreme respect for Shoji because it would be growing like thousands of cells in a second which is very painful, i was able to figure out that with the rate he grows cells at, even accounting that the time it took for him to grow extra arms as a child vs a teenager probably decreased, it would be 100% possible for him to grow extra arms as a fetus due to extreme cell growth rate. Now I bet you're wondering, why would Shoji be born with the arms if he had to develop them himself? And I will address that later with the transformation and mutant quirk rant
So, i think that most quirks aren't really as different or wild as they seem, instead, most of them are just untapped chemical changing quirks, such as Bakugo's explosions. The sweat in his body was changed into a nitroglycen-like substance, and nitroglycen is extremely flammable. This similar substance could be even more flammable, so instead of really creating expolsions, he's changing the chemicals of his sweat so that the natural heat of his palms causes the chemical reaction/explosion.
But that really only covers mutation and transformation quirks, so what about emitter types? (and i don't know much about the 'other' category, but really it just seems like another chemical transformation thing)
I think that emitter types have chemical-quirk like properties, but is mostly other supernatural aspects that couldn't be explained by science. Many still have roots in chemistry and biology though.
And remember the glowing baby, the original quirk? That was the first true chemical change. The chemical makeup of the body was changed to glow, similar to how anglerfish or fireflies can make parts of their body glow.
Thank you for coming to my tedtalk I am hyperfixated on superpowers I did not beta read this Half of this definately makes no sense But yes
QUIRKS 100% HAVE BOTH CHEMICAL AND SCIENTIFIC REASONINGS *AS WELL AS* JUST "OMG PERSON GLOW !!" REASONS. BC ITS AN ANIME/MANGA, YA GOTTA HAVE A LIL SILLYNESS IN IT.
but like fr i loved everything u said, agree agree, nod nod. would read another one of these
( -Vali ! im not awesome with words, but I really appreciated this!)

MPMS x Hagakure for All x In the West:
Now that I'm thinking about this what is the reaction of the other Shiketsu students to Midoriya being a quirkless hero course student (I'm assuming Uraraka, Yoarashi, and Utsushimi will have the obvious position of not really caring)?
What do they think of Midoriya having a friend (possibly 3 if Ashido and Kirishima chose to still go) in U.A.?
How for or against the Crush would he be at the provisional exam?
Yoarashi might care because he's stubborn like that, and not the only uptight Shiketsu Student (looking at you meatball man)
I'm not sure how much they would care about that beyond the UA/Shiketsu rivalry
Midoriya would probably be neutral and thus swept along into it

You need a kosher explanation for the kid Horikoshi brought back for two arcs despite failing in the first, decided to add the father of to the manga, gave a significant amount of character while setting up the potential for future development in said arcs, and used as one of the three Shiketsu representatives in each of their single panel post babysitting arc appearances bar one that was license training specific?
Legit cannot understand this nitpick each time I've seen it; it would be stranger and far worse writing/make no sense if Horikoshi left him and his broken quirk out in a doomsday scenario.
Seiji's flaw is ego/extremism, not combat ability.
(re: my post on Chapter 381.)
…Yes?  Yes, I do?  No offense, anon, but you’re doing that thing I sometimes get people doing in response to my meta, where I’m talking about the series on one level and they come at me with a bunch of objections that are engaging with the story on another level entirely.
Specifically, nearly everything in your ask is a Doylist explanation for Shishikura’s return.  That’s a perfectly valid approach if you’re looking to explain the author’s decision-making process, and, indeed, I’m sure you’re correct on every point—from a Doylist perspective.  The questions I raised about Shishikura’s presence, however, were Watsonian in nature: what’s the in-universe explanation for this and is there any chance that, whatever that explanation is, it’s not incredibly sketchy?
Hit the jump for more analysis, and please keep in mind that this is coming from the perspective of someone whose favorite non-UA student is, in fact, Shishikura Seiji and who has been wanting to see how he's handling his father's murder for over two years.
Anon, you said Seiji's flaw is ego/extremism as if it’s not a real flaw, as if it doesn’t matter, as if it’s not a damn good reason for the in-universe regulatory bureau to have withheld his license.  But ego/extremism is a reason to withhold his license—his snide little gatekeeping routine cost him the very first round of the exam!
During the exam, Seiji wasn’t focused on getting himself through; he wasn’t focused on getting his classmates through—his entire stated rationale was to hinder other people.  Not in the spirit of competition, nor a desire to secure his own place, but simply because he was looking down on all of his fellow students.  It’s a terrible attitude for a hero to have[1] and, given that the police had specifically asked the HPSC to prioritize teamwork in that exam, he rightly flunked it.
Would he have been able to pass solely on the basis of his combat chops?  Judging by the number of meatballs around him when Kirishima, Bakugou and Kaminari faced him, yes, absolutely! He would have coasted through in no time if he'd actually been focused on doing so. But instead, he decided that he had ascertained the goal of the examiners (he hadn’t) and took it upon himself to act towards that goal.  As his own teacher later said, Seiji had been influenced by Stain, coming to let contempt drive him, and that sense of contempt led directly to his defeat—the only Shiketsu student to fail the first round!
Those failings of ego are not minor.  On top of everything else, Seiji's ego made him incredibly easy to provoke, and his contempt for Kaminari meant that he failed to catch onto Kaminari’s ruse. On a field with All For One—the man who personally murdered Seiji's father and who excels at mind games—Seiji's being quick to anger and prone to underestimating his opponents are not funny character beats; they are potentially lethal flaws.
Back when Aizawa was first explaining the exam process, he said, “Hero licenses are inextricably tied to the saving of lives, so one must be properly qualified for such a heavy responsibility.  Naturally, the test is incredibly difficult.” Under normal circumstances, Seiji would never have been given his provisional license because he would be a danger to himself and others.  Yet in 381, there he is—why?  Who decided that Seiji’s combat potential was enough to make up for his personality flaws?
Well, we know the answer to that: the HPSC.[2]  Over the course of the story, multiple characters either allude to or comment outright on the HPSC’s desperate attempts to increase the number of heroes at their disposal:
Aizawa, in the initial explanation of opening up work studies to first years.
The UA staff, in discussing the reasoning behind restarting work studies after they were initially called off.
Endeavor, in reflecting on the HPSC using the trainees as backup to bolster their numbers.
Midnight, in apologizing to Kaminari that his presence on the front line is needed.
Dabi, in scornfully commenting on the students’ presence at the villa raid.
Whatever other cases might be escaping me at the moment.
Lacking any other explanation, I have to view Seiji getting approved for being at this action as just more of the same.  And, as has been made repeatedly clear, “more of the same” is not going to actually resolve the problems facing Hero Society.  Doubling down, bringing on board more and more people who are categorically unfit in their present state, is only going to get more people hurt as the usual tactics continue to fail.  And the people most at risk, in any halfway realistic story, would be the ones who are least qualified to be here in the first place.
So, yes, anon, I would like a kosher explanation for Seiji’s presence here.  Because all the unkosher explanations point to a society that’s just continuing to make the same mistakes.  I like Seiji!  I like all the students that Horikoshi has managed to scrape together some actual, impactful flaws for!  I’m happy to see Seiji here!  But that’s not the same thing as agreeing that he has any business being here, if the authorities in his world had the slightest degree of respect for his life and future potential.
P.S. Even setting aside the authorities, why in god's name did Seiji's classmates let him come to the fight with the man who murdered his father? Did Inasa and company think he had the right to that confrontation? I can see stories that would work in, but BNHA, with its comparatively grounded, real world-ish setting with laws and licenses and so much paperwork, is definitely not one of them. For evidence, compare the idea of Seiji's classmates not trying to get him to stay well clear of this fight with Narrator Deku's profound regret about not being able to prevent Iida from confronting Stain.
Seiji's keeping an admirably level head so far, and honestly, with the current pacing and the way the most recent chapter ended, I'm not actually expecting that to change. Though, if Seiji does manage to keep his temper all through this, Deku should ask for some pointers. Would have been nice if the reader had gotten to see any of that emotional maturation, huh?)
----
1: Though obviously not an insurmountable one, cit. Number 2 Hero Endeavor.
2: I considered that maybe Seiji's classmates just didn't complain about him along even without a license, but then I remembered that he's in that big spread in Chapter 246 with a figure I recall we've seen elsewhere doing Pro Hero work, though judging by the hat, he's probably a Shiketsu alum. I suppose it's possible that he's a teacher, but if it was a class thing, you'd think we'd see Nagamasa Mora, the hairy class rep guy, there too.

Okay the world needs to know (aka me)—who would own the local shitty DIY furniture store, aka SlimeKea, where the tables are as fragile as Gojo’s inflated ego, and who would work there?
so it goes without SAYING that sanji is SLANGIN' those swedish meatballs back in the kitchen... kakashi wrangles little kids in småland and shoots his shot with their moms... kirishima is ABSOLUTELY a warehouse guy... tempted to say gojo just because i wanna see him in the striped yellow shirt, also i think he'd thrive on giving people unsolicited home decor advice... and of course, odd jobs!deku is helping with assembly and carrying the heavy boxes out to people's cars. freeloader!toji does NOT work there, but he does climb into the bed displays for a lil snooooooze.

Kari chirped then gave a nod, not fully intending to throw Hawks under the bus if Kirishima got mad but since he said he'd be okay with it she might as well comply somewhat if Kiri got upset.
The child looked to where Hawks went and noticed the meatballs. She went and grabbed one and happily munched away, smiling the whole time.
Tumblr media
Hawks smiled as he watched her play before writing a R on each of Kiri's hands and then a ~ mark under one of his cheeks. "That's what he gets for falling asleep when he's at work. I guess his sensei is being mean and giving him too much work."

I just saw a post that said “I hope my man dips his balls in chocolate for me for Valentines Day” and I am just thinking of Bakugou staring as his phone like ‘tf??’ Because we shared it and we haven’t really explored much in the bedroom so he’s trying to figure out how the hell to bring it up…
OR OR we share it and Kirishima is confused and shows Bakugou, surely his best bro will know and with the a smirk Bakugou just says he’ll make sure it’s a Valentines Day none of us forget.
I hope I dip my meatball boyfriend in chocolate this Valentine’s Day.
No, but sending this meme as banter and Kiri or Bakugou actually making it happen👀

That was in the first little mini arc, even during the same event he instantly adapted to deku and countered the counter he was going for. It was more to show off that deku was able to an analyze heroes and use it to his advantage. Like also showing usage of eraserheads binding cloth.
That was also an early on thing in that first trial, even afterwords he agreed with momo about damaging their own base. They bring that up a few times after that like in the final vs the teachers they comment how they limited the fighting to areas already destroyed. Same for midoriya too when nejire talks about how deku helped minimize damage by slamming overhaul back into the already damaged area.
They also focus on the teamwork in the licensing exam keeping collateral down to avoid injury to those stuck in the meatball like kirishima, again in the joint training they make it a point of how he’s working with his team trusting them resulting in them succeeding quickly and with minimum damage.
And can you clarify what you meant on that part at the end? Because the reveal of his family situation and relation to dabi wasn’t revealed at that point when he fought the high end.
What bothers me the most about Izuku's character is that it seems like he can't feel anything, like because he can't be angry with what happens to him, you know why he can't have negative feelings towards Bakugou? This admiration he has for the bomb boy is not normal and healthy, it reminds me of Stockholm Syndrome. Bakugou stans say that Izuku is boring, but when talking about this thing about him not being angry with Bakugou, they keep saying that we don't understand Izuku's character. What's your opinion? Am I exaggerating?
I don't think you're exaggerating. In fact, I think it's deliberate on Horikoshi's part.
I began to realize Izuku's character was regressing the minute I first came across this scene:
Tumblr media
This is the only scene I can justify hating Izuku's character because it was such an out of pocket line coming from him. And it kind of stuck in my head for weeks because it felt so OOC. Like, Izuku of all characters pushing for Todoroki to forgive Endeavor? It made no sense to me.
But do you see how it pans to Bakugou?
To me, this is Horikoshi indirectly attempting to absolve Bakugou. Izuku's line here is trying to communicate that that's how he feels about Bakugou.
Similarly to All Might saying Izuku doesn't hold what Bakugou did against him, this is another piece of plot manipulation from Horikoshi. Bakugou's redemption is pushed through the words of others, not through his actions. Especially when it comes to how he treated Izuku.
If Izuku, at any point, was still upset or noticeably traumatized by Bakugou's actions, Bakugou couldn't have been reasonably redeemed. Because there would be no feasible reason to even have him around Izuku and the only reason Bakugou's even relevant is due to Horikoshi sticking him onto Izuku in every arc
