okay this is a very specific cut but your description of the j2jace respective povs on their whole situation (and j2's in particular) immediately brought me to mind of Feeling Kinda Naughty from the show Crazy Ex Girlfriend (aka my favorite song about being obsessed with someone in All The Ways, but speciifcally in the crawling-into-their-skin kind of ways).

like j2's fantasies of porter are so like... there's a naive and romantic quality to them. he's like, i'm your bride and you're my husband and we're on our honeymoon and we're consummating our shotgun marriage. i'm a beautiful mage thats been locked in a tower and youre the brave knight who's rescuing me from the cruel and wicked king who's imprisoned me here, and we make love under the stars. we're strangers in a bar but we hit it off and you whisk me away on an adventure to some far-off place i could never go to on my own. etc etc. like it's neotenous and cloying and cutesy, it makes you forget that he's an insane fundamentalist freak who cosigns everything porter does.
