And yuuuuuup “Wilbur” loves to think he’s the only one solving problems and then turning around and causing even bigger ones, unintentionally or otherwise. Sorta the theme of the chapter, hence its uhhhhhhhhh worrying ending!

Also the text is bold because when the imposters are being more monstrous their dialogue becomes bold (see: “Tommy” making threats, or “Technoblade” when they’re triggered and lose their throat for a bit). So, when “Wilbur” completely spirals and elects to go literally mask off, everything through his eyes became warped into something hostile and monstrous.

What if… Phil didn't kill the Cheyanne imposter

Phil growled as the Cheyanne imposter paced around. Etoiles grinned at him, “Only one more code monster yeah?” Phil nodded at him, “I’ll take him. You support me.”

Phil and the imposter circled a bit, staring the other down. Phil took the first move, starting their deadly dance. Phil’s movements were fluid and showed his years of experience. The code was erratic and barbaric, it attacked at every opportunity, mostly hitting air as Phil dodged it with ease.

The code stopped moving, starting to shift into a different shape. Phil took the opportunity to swing and….

Oh…

Oh no…

A sword blocked Phil’s axe and the code monster, now in the shape of a very familiar piglin. Techno… Technoblade had died! Why was the code using him against Phil like this? As Phil froze at the sight of his late friend, the code used his hesitance to strike, delivering a debilitating gash to his chest.

Phil stumbled back, whatever the imposter had hit him with made him feel like he was being broken apart and put back together over and over. Distorted yelling echoed in his ears along with ringing. He tried to get up but when he looked at his hands and saw them glitch uncontrollably he got the urge to gag. He needed to stay awake, he felt that if he didnt, he would cease to exist. Through his panicked state, he heard the code monster mutter something about revenge and the breaking of the fourth wall. Phil tried to get up again, resulting in him tumbling to the floor.

Minutes passed as the glitching and nausea slowly let up. Phil felt like he could breathe again. “Fit...” he called out, pushing himself into an upward sitting position. “Phil stay down yu need to rest.” Bad said, gently pushing Phil back down, Phil slapped his hand slurring a swear at him. He reached over for his axe and (much to the dismay and pleading of the others) used it to help him stand up. “Where the hell did that code monster go...” he said, looking around. “Wait Phil has a point” Charlie pointed out. Fit shrugged, “guess it had enough. We should go back home. No point in staying here.” Bad nodded, “Ill help you get Phil back to his house.”

Much to the complaints of Phil, Bad and Fit helped him back to his home. “The kids... What about the kids...” he said as Bad helped him to bed. “I got it Phil.” Fit assured him, then went to the basement where the real Cheyanne and Tallulah were supposed to be asleep.

Except they werent.

They were awake playing with... Phil? Fit stared at the man whom he was sure was supposed to be up with in bed with Bad. The other Phil looked at Fit with eyes a neon green that hurt to look at.

“You arent Phil...”

At that moment, the full effects of the code monster hit Phil, dissolving him into nothing but scraps of zeros and ones, while the fake Philza lunged at Fit

oh my god oh my god oh my god. The way you captured the looming malice and also the tragedy pressing down on Technoblade, his reluctance tearing him apart. He feels so powerful yet also overwhelmed by the crowd screaming at him. And the way his tusks almost look like tear tracks in the last panel…*chefs kiss* And the fearless hope in Tommy’s eyes! Completely untouched by the bloodlust seeping in the rest of the page. I love the rim of lighter blue at the edges, really makes them pop. So bright and trusting that I can feel his unwavering belief so strong it could change a god.
