I don’t like romance in movies
Now, this is totally personal opinion and preference, so please keep that in mind when reading.
“I don’t like romance plots in movies”
Tumblr media
That sounds so weird I know. Especially when this entire blog I dedicated to one ineffable couple I’ve hyper fixated on ever since I offhandedly watched a random show on prime when I was bored.
There’s lots of things I don’t like about the idea of stereotypical *ahem, usually heterosexual* romance, and one of those things is the perceived intensity of attraction.
While I understand it to an extent, I also don’t. On the few occasions I’ve been romantically interested in someone I’ve never had the urge to rip their clothes off and jump their skin, or marry them that afternoon.
I do however, want to show them my book collection, send them obscure memes, talk about that one scene in that one show I can’t move on from yet, listen to them talk about their passions, share romantic but subtle moments, and just generally enjoy each other’s company.
Tumblr media
Maybe this is because my lack of neurotypical tendencies, my demisexuality, or just my queerness in general, I don’t know.
But this type of romance is rarely shown in media, (again, in my personal viewing experience), especially in straight media.
You’re probably wondering what the fuck this has to do with movies. Same honestly I lost my train of thought one sec-
Ah yes.
Romance in movies feels immensely rushed to me. There is no time to sit and talk while you watch the sunrise, there cannot be an entire episode where the entire plot line is your traumatic childhood and how you two can bond over the fact both of your dads left for milk and never came back, or your wooden frog collection.
Noooo, instead, there must be this instant inexplicable attraction that causes both of your hormones to go haywire, because the plot only has two hours to not only get through this plot line BUT the other three in the background.
For romance to work in my head, 👏🏾I 👏🏾 Need 👏🏾 Bonding 👏🏾 time 👏🏾.
That’s one of the many reasons I love OFMD and Good Omens so much, we get to see that bonding time.
Ed and Stede chilling while having breakfast in bed while they look at each other lovingly?
Goals.
Azira and Crowley sitting and enjoying a good bottle of wine while talking about the end of the world?
Never seen anything better.
I think romance is at its best when subtle and calming, not frantic and unnerving.
Don’t get me wrong, I think franticness has its place in romance, especially once sexual tension has begun, but there needs to be large spaces of comfort and safety in between. (In my personal opinion)
Alrighty then, I’ll be off.
Lmk if you see where I’m coming from, or if I’m just posting insane ramblings because I’m sleep deprived and recovering from a cold 🥲.

Code breaking commuters
Breakfasts cooked on a coal shovel

Then the war came and the men went off the fight. Answering the call to help, Bea and her fellow railway volunteers find themselves with an opportunity of a lifetime. Obscured from judging eyes by steam and smoke they shadow the veteran drivers and engineers, learning what they can on the job and hitting the library when they can't.
The trains need to run, they are vital to the war effort. All it would take is one rogue bomb, one mishap to take out a driver and the wheels stop spinning.
Or at least, that's what the station manager thinks.

Have some latest WIPs of Tahr'rys :> It's midst ambient occlusion render and therefore has no lighting and no shadows - still, I like how it seems to develop…
I had to realize that I don't own a single completed picture of my OC that I've drawn myself. Only sketches and concept designs… Never really thought about it until some days ago ^^;
The WIP features a diversity of available armour sets and some design choices and tweaks like the glasses, the knife on his leg or the pattern of his pants. Satele Shan's Dualsaber is available but I prefer to see T holster his saberstaff on his back instead of his side. That thing is huge! Why put it on the belt? (insert bike fall meme here)
Ingame T is a Sith Inquisitor and, haha yes, an Assassin (solely) Tank. But I prefer to explore his own story, away from the game but inside its timeline. What you see here is part of what I imagine for him after he burned bridges with the Sith Order and managed to gain (at least) parts of his mental health back.
T ran away from the Sith (you read that right - though it’s an understatement of the events) and spent years on his own, trying to come to terms with himself but failing. Instead, he managed to force himself (unintentionally at first) into a shutdown process from which he couldn't emerge on his own. The Force™ and some plot twists ensued until T was captured by the Mandalorian Bounty Hunter Neo. Over time (this is also an understatement), they became friends.
There's an iceberg of information behind that char trust me - I simply don't like to tell his story to the vastness of the Internet. It's untypical and faces some unpopular truths about our own society, war and psychological impacts on individuals themselves. My OC is more like a vessel to explore arising questions and developed into a fledged-out character :o
Anyway… per se, T is still a Sith and uses his powers, but he prefers to remain unnoticed. Therefore he tends to obscure the colour of his eyes with some fancy droptacs ;) His ember-like eyes would give him right away, you know?
"Oh look, this dude looks like an anaemic vampire and has orange eyes and wields a lightsaber - he is a Sith! Oh no!" (don't mind the repost - my stuff simply doesn't appear in the tags and I don't know why)

I think you should answer all the questions in the munday meme :)
@ttheagcd got to my completionism
Tumblr media
Do you enjoy your interactions with the rp community? Generally speaking, yes, sometimes no, but being more selective and curating of my own space makes it something I love (on most days)
Have you made any friends since creating your blog? Yes! You included, I have made a few friends along the way (and hope to make more when life fucking slows down).
Have you ever done something embarrassing or made any mistakes that you can’t forget about? Hmmm, not a lot I don't think? Here or there stupid grammar mistakes or punctuation issues haunt me though after even reading a reply three or four times before posting it lol.
Are there any ships for your muse that you enjoy, or ships that you would like to see happen? I mean I love all his ships, I think having more angsty ships or ships with more 'evil' characters could be super fun.
What is something or someone you have always wanted to write with? i.e. a particular plot, a character, etc. Some more obscure characters, such as Maleficent (which I do have someone I'm starting to plot with when life doesn't get in the way lol), any studio ghibli muses could be super wholesome and fun. That's about it because some characters I'm learning are cursed that I shall never write with after bad experiences.
What are your biggest pet peeves when it comes to tumblr? The DMs are so broken for me personally for like two months they suck!! Some of the stigma behind 'oh I can't approach this person cause graphics and intimidation' can get a little exhausting but I know it can't be helped. Just the little things.
Is there anything you dislike about your muse? I don't think so? Maybe his aggression or that he suppresses some things until he explodes which clearly isn't healthy. (ooc is lack of content but hopefully more comes soon even though the creators for him are literally gone)
Do you have any insecurities about writing and/or interacting with other people? Sometimes I do get a little worried that my writing isn't good enough, like if I'm having an off day and things just don't flow quite right but I still post it anyways. Or if I feel like I don't send enough/too many memes, things like that.
What is your favourite thing about your muse? What he means to me, he's an incredibly personal creation of mine and I know this might be more abstract than the question calls for. But he is loved on many different levels for me and the fact I can try to bring awareness to not only veterans sacrifices and suffering, but also chronic pain and other little things, I'm glad to try and do that through a fleshed out character who I love.
Is there anyone who inspires you or that you look up to? I have some people here who inspire me, you being one of them and a couple other folks. Some writers inspire me and always have to write, like Adrienne Young, Brandon Mull, Grady Hendrix. I love their writing and their stories and it pushes me to try and improve my writing at any turn I can.
What time of day are you more inclined to write? During the week typically evening time is when I can sit down and get written out drafts typed and queued, but sometimes in the afternoon is when I find I get inspired, handwrite a few replies, and then type them up later. Usually on weekends it can vary from morning to afternoon, evenings are generally for other things.
What are some similarities between you and your muse? His love of handmade things. The fact Tegan quilts, I quilt myself and am amassing a collection of them. Melanie knits and crochets, which I also do, and that's where Logan gets his nice wooly socks from, scarves, and some homemade decor (specifically for fall). Otherwise I guess our other similarity is living with and learning to deal with chronic pain.
What are some differences between you and your muse? I am not a soldier or military member in any way, but a few of my family members are. So I learn from them how to portray him (learn meaning observing cause no way am I asking) and other shows how to portray his issues correctly and without diminishing it's importance or overembellishing it.
Do you have any pets? I do! An elderly, very round, cat we inherited from my husband's mom and recently passed father in law. Her name is kitty cause...she never really had a name. She currently has a bed on my desk so she's sitting right next to my laptop now purring away and I love her even when she gets grumpy and annoying lol.
Are there any pets you wish you could have? I would like to have a dog again given my last one passed away about two years ago now, I'm contemplating getting a memorial tattoo for her soon, but she will always be my first baby.
What are some of your favourite hobbies? Aside from the obvious that I talk about here all the time, I really do love reading though I'm currently in a bit of a slump because said hobbies take up the remainder of my down time right now. Otherwise I do like gaming, rebuilding my animal crossing island and trying to get it to five stars and dream addressed is my current goal after having the game since launch and never getting an island complete lol.
What is your current big obsession? Crocheting the cutest little ghostie plushies, I'm making three for my coworkers, one for mom, and I made the first one for me just to make sure I understood the pattern correctly. I'm also making Mickey pumpkin plushies too, one for me, one for mom, and two for my coworkers and I need to get the big puffy bows sewn together soon. I'm done with two so far.
Have you ever met an rp partner in real life? Would you like to? I have no met an rp partner in reality but I would love to! Would ideally be someone I consider a friend and am very close with, though.
Are you open for sharing social media with your rp partners? i.e. Skype, Discord, Messenger, etc? Yes I am!
Are you currently single or in a relationship? I am married.

Hello! This is an indie rp blog for DR. JOAN KELLY & REESE KELLY from the visual novel Scarlet Hollow by Black Tabby Games. (The devs are here on tumblr, check them out!) These characters are a little obscure by tumblr rp standards so I'm very open to OCs, AUs, and crossovers of all sorts. Knowledge of the game isn't required to write with me.
drop on by if you like: cryptid hunting ● appalachian folk horror ● waifish emo boys ● artists tormented by art ● artists tormented by their nebulously demonic heritage ● problematic milfs ● mean doctor asmr ● women in flannel ● family drama ● love conquering all ● love failing to conquer even a little bit ● fucked up horses ● good fucking video games please play this game
CHARACTER BIOS: Reese || The Doc
TAGS: headcanons, vibes, reese art, doc art, memes
RULES: (under the cut. please mind the content warnings section! this is a horror game!)
~ The Disclaimers Part ~
I don't know the devs at Black Tabby Games and my writing here isn't associated with them at all. This is just fanfiction! The art used on this blog (for icons, headers etc) are from the game or concept art -- in other words, not mine. There are also aspects of this blog that will be canon divergent, both to make it easier to roleplay with other characters and because the game itself is still in early access with more chapters upcoming.
**CONTENT WARNINGS**
Scarlet Hollow is a horror game and there will be horror on this blog. Mun is 30+ and I prefer to only write with 18+ writers. General content warnings that are baked into these characters and thus this blog: a smattering of general horror themes and violence, body horror, familial and caretaker abuse (think factitious disorder but for decidedly supernatural reasons), Mom Issues TM, the day-to-day stresses of living with disability/chronic illness, spoilers for the game A quick guide to content warning tags I will use on this blog: #horror visuals cw - this tag is specifically for horror IMAGES that I might reblog in the vibes or art tags #gore cw - written OR drawn gore, or just generally over-the-top horror movie violence #caretaker abuse cw - writing that explores the rockiness of Reese and the Doc's relationship deeply enough that it might be triggering, a "just in case" sort of tag. Things I won't write: incest, rape/sexual abuse, shipping these adult characters with underage characters I'm also unlikely to write straight up smut but I might make risque jokes from time to time.
Misc Roleplay Preferences
I prefer to only write with 1) other roleplay blogs and 2) mutuals. Non-mutuals or non-roleplay blogs are welcome to send in asks or out of character messages or like my posts, just please don't reblog my roleplay threads. It makes it harder to keep track of them :') I tend to do very minimal formatting, just -1 font and icons... sometimes... if I'm not lazy..........
Secret Menu Muses
Although this blog is primarily centered on the Kellys... If you're familiar with Scarlet Hollow I will write pretty much any character you want from the game, I'm so serious. I love all of them. So much.
And that's all! I don't bite, these rules are mostly just to set expectations. Always feel free to meander into my IMs if you want to plot or even just to chat! Keep searching, Stellars~
... Also my name is Sean, I completely forgot that part.

JACOBIN FICTION CONVENTION MEETING 32: DANTON (1983)
Tumblr media
1. The Introduction
Hello, fellow Citizens!
(Insert the “fellow kids” meme)
I’m back with a freshly made review for today’s meeting of the Jacobin Fiction Convention! I apologize for all the delays but a series of unlucky events in my personal life made everything too much of a shitshow.
Anyway, luckily I’m doing better now so let’s proceed with the meeting. Grab drinks and snacks and enjoy yourselves while we begin.
Before we get to the actual review, I have to say that reviewing this movie had been on my list pretty much ever since I joined the community and saw those lizard cake memes. Luckily, the entire thing is on YouTube, in French but with English subtitles as an option in the settings.
However, I also kept avoiding it because I wanted to dip my feet into the world of obscure media and also because I was afraid that this movie would idolize Danton (who was a fucking creep historically, even by the standards of the time).
Unfortunately, upon watching the movie itself I realized that my fear was more than justified. Not only that, but I believe it’s supposed to be some kind of political commentary on 80s Poland… a commentary that completely flew over my head because I didn’t live in that time period and it’s not my forte at all.
But, since it’s a Polish movie and half the cast is Polish, I dedicate the review to @edgysaintjust and to all the other Polish folks in my audience. Perhaps you guys can enlighten me on the political context while I voice my opinion on the movie as a work of fiction.
Okay, let’s fucking go before I bore you to death.
2. The Story
The movie is about Danton’s fall from grace, trial of the Dantonists and their execution. I believe @frevandrest made posts about the trial but it was very much a sham and a mess hotter than dog shit in summer.
Personally, I found the storyline quite easily digestible but it takes a more black-and-white approach that, in my opinion, does the real event a disservice.
Danton and Co are portrayed mostly in the positive light (more on that later) as the real advocates of the people and are juxtaposed with the tyrannical and radical dictatorship of Robespierre and the Committee, even though here Robespierre is a more complex character than in some other works of fiction.
Thankfully the plot is very much to the point with very little filler that felt unnecessary so props to the crew for doing an overall good job and not even thermidorizing everything as much as I feared they would!
For instance, we don’t have Robespierre actively gloating as Danton is being led to the guillotine or watching everything (because he didn’t watch and gloat in real life either) and there are hints that he actually has less power than other media ascribes to him.
Unfortunately, there’s still the idolization of Danton and other instances of thermidorization with a serving of homophobic subtext on the side, which left a bad taste in my mouth.
3. The Characters
Okay, let’s get one thing out of the way. Danton was too perfect for me to find him likable, especially knowing what I know about his historical counterpart. And when I say “too perfect”, I’m talking almost Gary Stu levels. Luckily not quite there, but the movie lets you know that it was probably sponsored by Dantonists.
Danton is the advocate and friend of the people who defends them and doesn’t want to be at odds with Robespierre, no matter how much a few of his supporters may attempt to provoke him to overthrow Robespierre (which wouldn’t do much irl, but oh well).
There are instances of Danton being a womanizer, but his creepy side is REALLY glossed over and on the poster the light around his head reminds me of halos of Catholic saints. That’s all well and good, but I didn’t sign up for an attempt at hagiography.
Robespierre, as I mentioned, is surprisingly complex. Despite being pressured into having Danton executed, he does resist as long as possible and really doesn’t want to take such measures. He’s also very accurately portrayed as sickly and he tries to make peace with Camille Desmoulins.
Oh, and he really regrets that the executions took place and it seems like he believes that he betrayed his ideas and the people of France.
Honestly, not the worst take on Robespierre but my feelings are complicated.
Eleonore Duplay is… something else.
She is an ardent Republican with a dash of the “jealous girl” trope. Her first scene has her forcing a boy to recite The Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen and smacking him for getting it wrong (I think it’s supposed to be her younger brother?) but she also slaps a housekeeper for looking at Robespierre.
Eleonore does have a caring side though. She genuinely cares about Robespierre and supports him, so I kind of liked it but the character assassination is still unforgivable. *screams into the void*
SJ is portrayed as a stereotypically effeminate man and there’s a lot of gay subtext between him and Robespierre. Oh, and he’s also the one who pressures Max to be more radical which gives me LRF vibes. Fantastic… SJ can’t catch a break yet again. Excuse me while I’m going to bash in my damn skull.
To sum up, I didn’t find any character likable and a lot of portrayals were bungled to fit the political message.
4. The Acting
Some actors get really hammy, like the actress who played Lucille Desmoulins. Linda as SJ has his moments as well, but I liked the acting overall, especially in Pszoniak and Seweryn’s cases (Oh look, Seweryn is in Frev media yet again!).
Depardieu was fine as Danton. Just… fine. I don’t like him as an actor much but he was a good choice.
Unfortunately, the casting choices are hit and miss because at times the actors look NOTHING like the people they’re portraying. Other times the fits are great.
5. The Setting
Luckily there’s no mullets like in LRF and everything looks more or less accurate. I genuinely liked the settings. But the food at the restaurant scene… let’s just say I wouldn’t eat it… it looked weird.
6. The Soundtrack
Nothing outstanding, unfortunately. I don’t have much to say here though.
7. The Conclusion
My feelings are complicated. I did like some casting choices and the setting, but the movie idolizes a corrupt creep and dips its feet into homophobia and inaccuracies. Plus the political aspect is just too in the face and the character assassination makes me want to pull my hair out.
But hey, at least we have lizard cake memes! Still not enough to compensate for my wasted time though. I don’t recommend this movie. Read about the actual trial instead please.
Okay, with that out of my system, I declare today’s meeting officially finished. Thank you for your patience and support and stay tuned!
Love,
Citizen Green Pixel

19 for the ask meme, can be for anything
19. you're mad/ashamed/horrified you actually kind of like...
As much as this might be fishing to hear about some obscure kink that I'm into...that would require me to be ashamed about anything of the sort.
Instead, while this is kind of a stretch it can be frustrating to have finally broken into fic writing only to have it be for niche ships in a tiny fandom. Sure, I've gotten a lot of nice feedback and have a handful of people who are really into my stuff which is great to see, and once I'm done with my current fic I'm fairly sure I'll be able to be called a fandom authority on Papp/Roque since no one else has put this much effort into writing about those two before.
However, realistically I know it's never going to expand beyond that, because Octopath Traveler has such a modest fanbase, and that can often leave me wondering why I'm putting so much effort - the historical research alone! - into something with such a low level of interest. Still, it's been a fun experience and I'm going to keep writing so long as I have plot bunnies (do people still use that term?) for these characters.
(There's also an unintentional side effect to my not writing Fire Emblem fic, in that I can keep my fanfic work separate from the majority of my YouTube content. Doing too much of any one thing is just asking for burnout.)

makes you think about Indivisible for that blorbo meme
gah.
fave/guy i think about most-Either Ajna or baozhai but the latter not for the reason you think. Don't get me wrong her explicit canon competent-disaster lesiban-ness is a godsend, but mostly I think about how she had like. SO much fucking lore that they absolutely never brought up ingame. Like not even her postgame quest touched on it? I seriously don't even know if half of it is still canon.
Ajna..Ajna... I just love her so much and love her as such a flawed protag. You don't ususally see the role of "guy who's earnestly trying to do good but is too small-minded and just makes everything worse" handed to the *hero*. And even less often there's such a mechanical, gameplay type focus on going back and actually fixing all the shit you fucked up. Possibly the only time I've seen metroidvania backtracking be plot-relevant gdxgfdhgdg.
Cute/baby guy- there's a lot of funky little dudes in this but i think i gotta give it to ginseng & honey.... they got the spunk + canon they/them is a treat :') kushi & altun, sangmu [rip], and phoebe [surprisingly] are the runners up. lanshi is disqualified on account of being a dog. that would be too easy.
Underrated-hmmm... probably quadira? i'm gonna be real i don't remember a lot of the minor characters and i had to consult the page to even remember she existed but i remember her being like. a very subtle but very strong presence. she never said much but wasn't she just like....super exasperated by everything going on bc she had her own quest to get back to? i think she was one of those ones i came to like a lot more after the fact
Obscure fave- there are seven posts in the angwu tag and the first four of them are mine. god I fucking love angwu. She is still life goals for me. rude ass little old science lady in 3 layers of cloaks who gets to be a reclusive hermit in her tower all day but is still beloved and respected the world over for her knowlege, accomplishments, and contributions? please god. also her design is objectively flawless.
Problematic fave/meow meow- i mean dhar is THE shoe-in answer here yeah? Like. Good god where do you start with him.
Plinko-....probably also dhar. He's such a little bitch it's so funny when he whines
Superhell- queen mary. Not even for the whole tyrannical dictator moloch thing either her design just pisses me the fuck off [and the slime thing is even worse]
i am ADDING a new one on here that im just going to call MVP, because i want to mention razmi because she was so so so good and well-written. not a lot of Notes on her per se, but god she was just. shes so fucking funny and had such a distinct/unique personality. shes a weird little freak who wound up pulling a SURPRISING amount of emotional weight without it feeling off, and even in being one of the most active/chatty characters every moment with her is a blast and she also almost made me cry.

Hi Hannah! For the WIP meme I want to hear more about "I told myself I wouldn't but here it is LETS GO BOYS"
GRACE hello!!! I'm so happy that you want to hear about what is arguably the most obscurely named wip i have A;LSDKFJA thank you!! This wip in particular is a project that I don't think I'll come back to, mostly just because it got too big and complicated in my head and I don't know if I have the passion- or even the want- to write the other main character- which I'm sure you can imagine kills any drive to write this beast lmao.
The more affectionate name- and the more descriptive one- for this document is "The Bobby Timeloop AU". I have a very particular love for Bobby Fulbright from Ace Attorney Dual Destinies but I also hate the Phantom, so that makes finding fics I like of him so hard. A lot of people like the phantom- and they're so valid for it! But I like Bobby and I wanted a cooler Bobby-centric fic. I can't remember how I got the idea but I do know that I did some serious work plotting out the sequence of moment (if you know how complicated and stupid the path of movement is in the last case of DD then you KNOW what I'm talking about). I even have a picture!! Though I'll put that at the end under a read more or smth haha
The general gist of the plot was that the Phantom was using Bobby not only for his identity and the privileges of his job, but he was also going to use him as a clean get away so that way he could get Bobby convicted of the crime and also get rid of a mask he probably wouldn't even need use of again. Very much a "I only kept you alive so I can wrap this up in a nice little bow and make my escape without ever revealing I have any connections in the first place" situation. So Bobby is brought along The Day Of The Crime and forced to help the Phantom set everything up- before being knocked out and forced onto the Launch pad (or wherever?? Athena was found or smth??) so that way the Phantom could make a get away while the cops found Bobby. But uh oh! Time Loop! And so Bobby is forced to replay the day, over and over again, try to stop the phantom lots of times, probably die a lot of times, get arrested a lot of times, and maybe only live to see the light of day once, if he's lucky :)
My downfall in the end is that I did not want to write the Phantom- I loved writing Bobby's bits, but I hated trying to characterize the Phantom, get in his head, find out what was Characteristic of him when I think he's just. Written kinda poorly at the end of the game anyway. And I think it was a lot more convoluted and darker than I wanted to originally go with, so while I wanted to keep it somewhat serious and comedic, it just got one-sided on Serious, which wasn't much fun for me.
I still love the idea though- just not my execution. Bobby is still one of my favorite little guys- I just don't talk about him much. Maybe I'll figure out a way to write a fic for him someday, but probably not this one :') Despite that, here's a few lil snippets, since this will probably die in my drive after this LMAO
He awoke to the sound of humming, and to a blooming pain in his left temple. There was an engine, gently purring life, over the sound of tires against gravel. Heat wafted towards his face, barely, and he felt confined to the seat he laid on. The buckle dug into his hip- the right one- as the seatbelt spanned across his stomach and down under his bulk. Despite the clothes he wore, it still chaffed.  He was…. in a moving car. His car. He’d only realized after they went over a bump and the axle made that worrying SQUEAK it always did after running through a pothole. His head lifted and his left temple slammed into the hand compartment on the door. Pain bloomed all over again. He withheld a pained noise and instead opted for a harsh exhale. Maybe they’d notice him less that way. They went over a pothole- again- and his temple flared with pain without fail.
Then there was nothing. . . . He awoke to the sound of humming, and a blaring pain in his left temple.

Things Chucky Does To Annoy Nica In Their Shared Brain (Nica still has hands):
Recounts the plot of the latest South Park or Rick and Morty episode he’s watched (he watches a LOT of tv when he has the body, when he isn’t killing that is)
He pulls up the most embarrassing memories he can find in Nica’s subconscious and painstakingly analyses them like he’s writing an essay on that particular memory, he doesn’t stop until Nica begins to cry
Complains about various things that annoy him, loudly and obnoxiously until Nica is hitting herself in the head with a pillow to shut him up
Brags about his kids and brings up the fact that Nica will never see Alice again or have her own kids, this upsets her more than it annoys her, but Chucky takes great enjoyment from it
“Junior double triple whopper” basically the whole thing over and over again until Nica calls out to Tiffany so she can get a distraction from it
Tries to recall the plot of Peter Pan and tells the story to Nica, constantly interrupting himself to say that he really resonates with Peter yet can understand Captain Hook’s motivation, because kids are annoying and he too would kill them
Ranks his top ten favourite murders, either by him or by serial killers he admires in extreme detail
Delivers a monologue length autobiographical account of his life,  being sure to linger over the months he spent with Nica’s mother and sister because he knows it annoys her
Sings songs (badly) there’s a lot of Queen, and a lot of Meatloaf, he particularly enjoys Bat Out of Hell
Chucky: Like a bat out of hell I’ll be gone when the morning comes!-
   Nica: I wish you were!
   Chucky: Not happening!
Chucky believes heavily in conspiracy theories (you can’t tell me he doesn’t) so he explains to Nica (entirely seriously) about the dangers of the Illuminati and that aliens are going to invade, so tinfoil hats are humanity’s only defence
Rants about Andy Barclay, this isn’t specifically intended to annoy Nica, he just gets really angry whenever he thinks about Andy, and this inadvertently annoys Nica because he rants for a while
Tries to convince Nica to get into killing, because he knows she’ll never agree but he thinks it’s fun to watch her squirm
Chucky used to be good at art, and in the rare moments Nica draws or paints to pass the time (or when Tiffany gives her art supplies as something to do) he criticises everything she does, sometimes taking control of her hands to erase the lines she drew and start over
Recites memes that he learned when he had control of the body, specifically Family Guy and South Park quotes (he loves “Dancing, walking, rearranging furniture”)
Sometimes when he’s bored, he forces Nica to play I Spy, but the things he ‘spies’ are always obscure and random, like the tiniest speck of dirt on the floor at the other end of the room, and he won’t stop until she guesses, it can take hours

― NAME: lue.
― PRONOUNS: she/they idc this body is a flesh prison.
― MOST ACTIVE MUSE(S)? I've been writing this character for, like, 12 years... I think the Sheila brainworms have cannibalized all the other worms...
― RP PET PEEVES? I don't think I can get into this without revealing how much brain damage I've sustained my experiences here over the years. If you know, you know.
― EXPERIENCE / HOW MANY YEARS? My earliest memories are from when I was around 12-14 on some obscure rp forum that is still barely clinging to life last I looked. I did a lot of rping on AIM & MSN Messenger... and then fell out of the hobby for a few years when a friend (and main rp partner) passed away. Sheila & Eve (& Gatsby) were conceptualized on Gaia in 2011, and the group I wrote with (👋 hi steph LMAOOOO) moved to tumblr a short while later, annnnd... I've kinda been here ever since.
Whoever that anon was from years ago who was like "ummm don't you think you're too old to be rping :\" well I'm even older now.
― FLUFF, ANGST, OR SMUT? Hitting my partners all day every day with fluff + angst wombo combo until they beg for mercy. Smut is not something that's ever happened with this character for... a variety of reasons... and I would only ever feel comfortable writing such things with a long-term ship partner.
― PLOTS OR MEMES? My strength lies in improvisation; some of my favorite, most memorable threads had absolutely zero plotting. A little plotting is fine, but I love the element of surprise, so I don't like mapping everything out in excruciating detail. I also don't do memes very often just because I lack the energy :( And I've always felt bad for sending in memes to friends without ever really giving them an opportunity to send me memes in turn.
― LONG OR SHORT REPLIES? Comfy zone is pretty much anything from one-liners to a couple paragraphs. Otherwise I just—I dunno—burn through my already scant reserves of creative energy way too quickly.
― TIME TO WRITE? Ungodly hours in the morning when most everyone else is asleep so there are minimal distractions. Unfortunately, this means my sleep schedule is usually trash. If you see me posting replies at 5am no you don't.
― ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S)? When Sheila was new, the only things we had in common were our musical instruments of choice (we're both pianists) and—rather unintentionally—our chronic back pain. Due to the way I developed her character over the years (I don't like retcons, so there are a lot of ghosts in Sheila's past, for better or worse), we've become more alike in the Department of Crippling Trust Issues, and I do sometimes wish I had developed her differently because I worry that people may mistake her for a self-insert or think I'm projecting way too much onto her. Oops.
also pomegranates, we both love pomegranates (all my OCs love pomegranates). I think our sense of humor is also similar (? I need a third party to confirm or deny this) although my clown shoes are bigger by far.

hello! how abt 1, 6 & 8 for the headcanon asks? :]
Selfship Headcanon Asks
Thank you, Sol!
1) What does your F/O love about themselves?
Laurel will always take pride in her intelligence! Even through the hits to her self-esteem and ability to trust herself that come with the arc she undergoes, she'll never lose that feeling of satisfaction whenever she learns something new.
Before she changes for the better, this shows when she subtly teases her would-be victims after outsmarting them. Now, she feels those swells of pride after she feels like her knowledge has been helpful to others: helping an ailing plant perk back up, giving the perfect book recommendation, keeping up with conversations about my obscure interests so I can feel heard and understood… My beloved is so smart and wonderful to talk to! Our gardens and bookshelves couldn't be in better hands.
She's also proud of her resilience, as she should be! She survived trauma that no child should ever have to go through, then she took the time and effort to correct everything her family had taught her! And build a new happy life and loving relationship that went completely against that! I make sure to remind her all the time of how proud I am of her and how much our hard-earned love means to me.
6) Can your F/O sing?
Her actress has sung in a movie before, so listen for yourself!
youtube
I've talked before about how she doesn't care for her own singing voice, since she hasn't had much chance to practice. But when I catch her singing softly while caring for her plants for the first time? Dreamiest I'd ever seen her up to that point, and that's saying a lot. Her singing voice just sounds so sweet and innocent, unburdened by everything she's gone through. It completely melts my heart and makes me want to wrap her up in my arms…
She'll sometimes sing me to sleep after the first time I catch her with the plants, but only because she loves my reaction as I bring her into my embrace and relax against her.
8) What would be your F/O’s favorite TV/movie genre?
I'd say that aligns with her literary tastes in the sense that she tends to like things with a dark, sometimes gothic edge to them? Which is ironic, given that in-universe at least one of the most influential Gothic authors was an outcast. But she was never above reading books associated with outcasts, whether to use the spells they came up with or as a way of processing her overwhelming feelings of solitude and discontent.
(In hindsight, she jokes that she should've known something was wrong when the words of the people her family feared the most spoke so much more to her than any of the books her mother told her a proper lady should be reading.)
So the big genres she'd gravitate towards in movies and TV are drama, mystery, dark fantasy, thrillers, and occasionally dark comedy. That kind of thing.
If she had to pick just one that's her favorite, she'd go with mystery. Piecing together a murder plot or even grander scheme on her own and then being rewarded when the story either validates her observations or manages to trick her? She loves it, and she loves having me around while she watches so she can talk about it! Her favorite comfort watches would probably be old mystery shows, like Columbo or Murder, She Wrote. (Which I eagerly join her in watching so I can understand the memes about them.)

Bright Young Things (2003) / Vile Bodies (1930)
Yes, yes, of course I watched this for young gay Michael Sheen.
For real, the main entertainment factor of this film is embodying the Leo pointing meme every time a familiar face shows up on screen. At some point a certain someone appeared in an incidental role for a few seconds in a close-up next to Tennant and I completely fucking lost it. The UK can’t possibly have so few actors!
I’ve never even heard of the book this was based on, or was aware this was an adaptation before being informed in the opening titles, but it’s very noticeable. The script frantically jumps from plot point to plot point just like in any other feature film that tries to cram a novel in less than two hours of runtime. A bigger problem is that it’s not very clear to the viewer whether they should even try to make out a plot out of this string of scenes, or it’s a narrative that operates on vibes only. (I had to quickly leaf through previous scenes because I’d put a name to a wrong face, all while wondering if correcting myself was even worth it.) The film has a boisterous beginning, then slows down for a long time, then is given a shot of energy when James McAvoy’s character does a certain big thing halfway through (I cheered. Then I went “Oh man :/”). The plot does get a bit more coherent after that.
The ending caught me by surprise: I didn’t realize it was that late in the thirties. The radio announcement was a real “Guess he’ll die” moment, and it was immediately followed by a scene where the main character and his love interest seemed to poetically die on the same day… And then both of these were swiftly undone. The final scene was so conspicuously set during an air raid in a room filled with burning candles that I kept expecting the final frame to be a bomb hitting the building, or someone knocking over one of the candles — either way, with the pair being set ablaze just like the rediscovered manuscript. But no, it was just… a happy/bittersweet melodramatic ending? Instead of a neat destructive one? But I had already given up on the emotionally involved melodramatic mode of viewing because I’d written off the characters as unlikeable empty shells whom you study like a bug instead of rooting for! The girl didn’t even seem to like the boy and the boy sold her, what kind of emotion was their reunion supposed to evoke? And what happened to Agatha and Miles during/after the war? According to the summary on Wikipedia, the original novel’s ending is entirely different in content and tone, and much more in tune with the detached cynicism of the story up to the war, which makes me wonder even more about the adaptation’s intent.
It was nice to look at all these pretty people in fashionable clothes, and get a glimpse of a foreign historical setting. “Watching a random mildly obscure production because you’ve heard about it online and/or some star was in it” is a familiar, semi-forgotten experience, and that felt pleasantly nostalgic.
---
Of course, I couldn’t resist immediately reading the original book to compare, encouraged by a review saying that it’s actually not that long. I found a public domain version somewhere and read the bare original text without commentary, even though I’m sure it’s a terrible way to consume century-old satire.
I was surprised to discover that the book is from 1930 — and still ends with a great war (fictional, I assume). No wonder the adaptation moved the setting a decade forward!
My impression that the characters and their stories were supposed evoke curiosity and contempt rather than compassion was confirmed. I now find the shoehorned sappy ending even stranger. The film version turned out to be very faithful otherwise: the unimportant events and characters are condensed well, and the weird pacing and disjointedness that I perceived as a trait of sloppy adaptation were actually true to the source material.
The last chapters of the book feel different not because of the sudden bleakness, but because the scope is rapidly narrowed to the few main characters, and most of the secondary subplots are dropped. The book, unlike the adaptation, puts a definite end to Agatha’s story (and her life), and there’s an entire subplot about a fictional film that didn’t make it to the real film, but what about the Prime Minister and his unsuccessful courtship of a Japanese noblewoman, or Miles’ brother and his rejected proposal? I thought these were going somewhere.
What a shame that the misunderstanding about “shooting” didn’t make it to the adaptation — it’s one of the few passages in the novel I found genuinely funny. Speaking of dialogue, I thought the “parties” monologue in the film was very unnatural and theatrical, and sure, in the novel it’s not said aloud but belongs to the narrator.
The minor character who hosted the fateful party was in the novel actually, uhh, a major character from the writer’s previous novel who made money via human trafficking?? That would have been very confusing for the movie’s audience, so I think it was pretty clever to throw all that out and make her Miles’ mother instead. Too bad a more serious take on Miles warranted a new surname: “Miles Malpractice” is a great name.
Miles’ role was expanded a lot for the film, which I think we all agree was a good choice. Most of his lines in the movie, including the tearful goodbye, aren’t in the book at all! So that’s another thing that was made more dramatic for the film. You win some (Miles), you lose some (the ending). The moral of the story is… Stephen Fry is better at writing a gay character than a straight romance? No wonder; the question is why he even bothered with the latter.

For the WIP folder game: Brain Damage in D Minor, and In Vera? 👀
ooh this is fun because these are both me taking the plot of a movie I like and then applying it to The Blorbos, but in completely opposite directions
brain damage in d minor is a black sails fic based on music and lyrics (2007) which is my favorite rom-com of all time. flint is a washed-up jaded has-been who was in a boy band in the '00s until he got outed and his boyfriend died and now he's 45 and he has no friends and no career and he can't write a new song to save his g-ddamn life. silver is the guy flint hires to water his plants and he just so happens to be an uncannily good lyricist.
it's silly, it's dumb, it's fun. "brain damage in d minor" is a placeholder title and I'm very afraid it will stick. I keep putting off working on this fic because I'm an insane person and I know that I'm going to want to actually write and record all the music.
I've only written two scenes—the opening and the morning after flint and silver hook up for the first time. last time this meme went around I posted like 3/4 of the opening scene lmao so here's a few lines from the other one:
"Here,” Flint says, offering Silver the mug. “I made you some coffee. Whole milk and four sugars, just how you like it.” The mug nearly scalds Silver’s skin when he takes it. Why is Flint kneeling so close? “I actually prefer it with three sugars,” Silver says, “but thank you. That’s—You didn’t have to.” “You order it with three sugars,” Flint says. “Then, when you think no one’s looking, you add a fourth. And I know I didn’t have to. I wanted to.” For all the talk of sugar, it’s Flint who’s sickly sweet right now: the sweet crinkle of his eyes, the sweet curl of his lip. Silver hides a nervous swallow beneath a mouthful of coffee—fucking hell, it tastes perfect. Flint shouldn’t know how to make Silver’s perfect cup of coffee. Gun to his head, Silver couldn’t make Flint’s perfect cup of tea; why the fuck does Flint know how to make Silver’s perfect cup of coffee?
in vera is the piece I am most actively working on right now! it's a fic for the fetch phillips archives series and it's based on in bruges (2008). there's a flashback in the first book in the series, wherein fetch has an uncomfortable incident with his mentor, then gets sent on a forced vacation to a city called vera so they can get away from each other for a little while. fetch then goes on a bender in vera, meets a general from an opposing army, and defects. shortly after fetch joins the army a big world-changing event happens and his former mentor dies.
this is a canon divergence au wherein fetch gets recaptured by his original organization after defecting to the army but before the world-changing event happens. he's sent on yet another forced vacation to vera, this time with his mentor, and. well. let's just say it's going very badly and will certainly get worse!
I'm working on chapter four right now but here's a little snippet from chapter one for you:
The streets spread out from the city center like a spiderweb, and Fetch is a helpless insect scuttling across the strands, trapped and unsafe. And Hendricks, for all his comfort and bravado, owning every cobblestone he steps on, may very well be the spider. As they meander toward the inn Hendricks booked, Fetch looks for any familiar landmarks from his first trip here. This is the corner where I puked up three glasses of burnt milkwood and half a turkey leg. This is the street where I nearly got run over by a newsboy on a bicycle. This is the bench where I fell asleep and got shat on by a bird. This is the shop where I spent twenty minutes trying to remember the Elvish word for “toilet” before I found out that it’s pronounced completely differently in the Veran dialect. Or was it over there? No, wait, it was a few blocks south. I don’t know. These buildings all look the fucking same. Most of the memories are obscured beneath a thick haze of stress and booze and grief. Primarily booze. They come back to Fetch in little flashes; they aren’t worth remembering once they do. Every façade of rough white rock broken by silvered doors like shards of mirror set into the stone: he keeps catching his reflection as he passes, and it always comes back warped. Stretched and bowed and grotesque. He doesn’t look Human anymore. Or maybe this hunched and hulking creature is the most Human he’s ever been. It’s not as though he can leave his humanity behind. It’s tattooed onto his fucking arm.

Echidna (ask character meme)
Now the real question is - which version of Echidna? >:3 Let's go with the Echidna Subaru interacts with.
Sexuality Headcanon: She's somebody who would be curious about all forms of love as part of her thirst for knowledge, so I can see her being interested in anybody that could provide a new experience.
A ship I have with said character: Hmmm, Emidona maybe? I've seen some cute fanart and it is funny seeing Echidna lose her shit over Emilia just being nice to people.
A BROTP I have with said character: Toxic brotp has to go to Subaru, but like... any of the witches works. I really want to see more about them interacting, but I've been slacking lately. Oh, and if we're counting all forms of Echidna, then Omega and Palmyra and Colette is pretty interesting.
A NOTP I have with said character: Subaru. I dont mind it if its portrayed as a very toxic ship, where its very clearly wrong, but it feels weird seeing a witch willing to let him die millions of times for her curiosity just have a happy relationship with him. Sends a bad message to me.
Oh and Echidna/Roswaal. That one's just...yeesh.
A random headcanon: Scarfdona has a lot more going on behind the scenes (Capella trying to hunt her down in Cat's Eye, for example) but I have a strong feeling Echidna intentionally made her in a way to obscure certain knowledge (like how she was made, her purpose, memories) just so that if Echidna-As-Omega were to meet her, it'd be a goldmine of new info.
But I could be very wrong! I just want more info on how exactly the different Echidna's matter to the plot.
General Opinion over said character: Very polarised. Witch Echidna was fascinating, I love her long rant in the WN/LN (which got fully adapted in the manga as a whole page spread!! 2000 words over like two pages) and the sheer psychological horror she poses during arc 4 as Subaru's surrogate parent - super good. Her relationship with Beatrice is so cruel but there's so much you can do with that dynamic. I don't care for Echidna and Roswaal's dynamic beyond how messed up it makes Roswaal, but even there I can admire the writing.
But I'm not really fond of the several different Echidna's running around. I can understand Omega, but Scarfdona doesn't even have a unique name. I have very mixed feelings about Scarfdona, from her shortening Ana's lifespan by spamming Jiwald uselessly to her muted role in the Ana camp (Only Ana knows her, despite meeting Scarfdona when she was 12. I know she's an intelligent character but keeping that under wraps for 10 years??) It just feels like that iteration is very lackluster compared to what we've expected from Dream Echidna and Omega.
Thanks for the ask!!
