You quickly dusted yourself off before picking up a plastic water can that you were busy working with before. "Well, I wanted to plant some flowers! It was supposed to be a surprise for you, but... After all, it was worth a shot trying to ask him.

"O-Of course. I'd love to." Although there was a slight stutter in his soft voice, he took a small step towards you. His eyes locked onto yours with an emotion that was a mix between gratitude and admiration. It appears that he was ready for the task after all!

"Great! So, uh, I'm actually unsure of how much water the soil needs, so could you help me with that? Those are white camelia seedlings... I read up on the right way to plant them, but it's not as easy as I thought." You explained to him with an awkward chuckle, crouching down next to the small spot of fresh soil you've chosen to plant in and gesturing around all the gardening equipment you managed to bring out with you. Although the gardener believer was anxious, he was willing to carry all the heavy stuff for you, and you were grateful for that.

He made it look so easy... like it was second nature to him. You only wished he could have more time and freedom on his hands to pursue these small activities that actually brought him joy... but, since you didn't want to ruin the moment, you never brought up this forbidden topic at hand.

Soon, you were both working in comfortable silence, nothing but the gentle rustle of greenery and the evening melody of crickets interrupting the sound of your gradual progress. Although, by this time, you spent more energy on ogling Ray than actually gardening. You couldn't help yourself! He looked so graceful as his hands placed each tiny seed in its respective hole... You never knew something like gardening could even look graceful! But, oh, what you liked most of all was seeing how... peaceful Ray's gaze has become the longer you worked. He appeared completely relaxed at this moment, enjoying doing something he loved and not worrying about anything. For this brief magical moment, at the very least.

"Oh hey, that one looks like a kitty!" You called out, pointing out the specific cluster of clouds you were talking about, with a silly snicker falling from your lips. There was something so... relaxing about doing this with him. It's possible to forget the huge imposing castle made of white marble towering behind you and, for a brief moment, find yourself free as a bird amidst these fluffy clouds. It was bittersweet, in a way.

The initial plan was to help you with your gardening effort, but it turned out to be cloud-watching as you sat next to each other on the lush grass, your arms barely touching. The closeness is just right to make your heart race, but not too much to cause anything prohibited within Mint Eye. Sort of like a secret date.

"I'm afraid I can't really see that, but your imagination is something definitely worth of admiration." Ray chuckled quietly, shaking his head a bit as he glanced at you with amusement before returning his attention to the rosy evening sky above.

"Y-Yes?" He stuttered, his gaze now glued to you, even as his cheeks grew redder and redder as he inevitably took notice of just how close your faces truly were now that you laid your head on his shoulder.

As you laid your head on his shoulder, sighing with a sense of peacefulness that enveloped you like a warm blanket, he jolted and made a tiny adorable squeak at your sudden touch. You were aware that he didn't object to this. Ray was someone almost as touch-starved as you... although, it took you some time to realize that his jumpy reactions weren't made out of discomfort, but rather unfamiliarity with such gestures of affection. "...Ray?"

"Do you know the meaning of white camelia?"

"That's right. You're adorable." You whispered affectionately to him, as if it were a secret meant only to be shared between you, then leaning in and leaving a chaste kiss on the tip of his nose.

I am but a fool. It is 12am and I should have read Chapter 3 of the Fantasy ay sooner cus AAAA! I wish I could draw!!! This was so coooool! For once, the beginning and the clear fondness Byakuya has for Chihiro. How he picked out an outfit for Chihiro and everything. When they're out in the town and Byakuya interacting with that kid. That was adorable. Also, just the showcase of how Byakuya want's to be a good prince, making sure the fire didn't spread when that building got hit with fire. And how he got all worried at the end for Chihiro which distracted him which shows how much he cares! MY HEART!! I have no clue if this is coheirent by the way. Like, gosh! It was such a nice read and was refreshing which is fitting since it's a change from Byakuya being in the castle. Plus, the plot is plotting and that is awsome. OH! And I liked that one part when Byakuya's ears twitched and he could sense something was wrong. I like how it gives a subtle show to his awareness regarding the people of his kindgom and how he can tell when something's afoot. ALso, ice sword cool. We gotta love the ice sword cus he of course has sword training! Even if this wasn't the fantasy au, he just gives that vibe that he's maybe fenced sometiem in his life. AAAALSO!!!!!! Chihiro is precious and wonderful. I would like to draw the outfit Byakuya gave the little guy cus fashion B-] Not sur wht Byakuya was wearing but u can tell! But he does just want to be a good prince. He'll generally be nicer to strangers cuz they're his people and haven't wronged him, especially kiddos.

And Byakuya is just kinda wearing his usual outfit. So, like, light blue dress shirt and pants, with a black vest and black cape. I, uh, have a wee little habit for forgetting mentioning clothing lol.

Also, the kid's name was a Ninjago reference. I will in fact be using those names whenever I just have a random character. Already have another in Chapter 5 lol.

chess moves NOT SO MUCH because in the setup we've got here its really hard to incorporate something like that beyond like. the vaguest gestures hahaha maybe if the magic system was more tangible and active we could play with stuff like that, but as the setting is right now there's not that much to work with in-depth. much as i might dream

they are normal humans made of normal human stuff, much as they might wish otherwise at times. the magic in their world governs the structure and laws of reality and doles out punishments when said laws are breached. it's not really a magic Powers system as much as it's a magic Penalty system. this means that almost everyone (with a few exceptions) is just like a normal human being with no special powers or attributes, but the world itself will retaliate by magic if its tenets are breached. basically it's a nightmare and everybody hates it

(the main exception is people from outside this reality, like kaitlin and aster, who sit somewhere in the middle: right above ordinary humans, but very far beneath the Unseen Structure(tm) that holds the world together. they are subject to the same retaliatory destruction as everybody else, but they often have some degree of supernatural commanding force that beings belonging to this world find difficult to resist. ethical implications are Very Dire and basically aster wants kaitlin to use that power in her final duel so that the guy she's killing won't be able to defend himself. kaitlin uh does not want to do that to be honest with you!)

👆 this all is kind of important for your last question. when kaitlin first shows up in this world she's actually in alabaster, where erin is queen. so she's delivered to erin after some hijinks and they meet very early on in the story. their backstories and general personality inclinations have some pretty serious comparison points actually, but this isn't something they realize until wayyyy later (if at all)--they have a lot in common to compare and contrast. tbh they're foils but what else is new am i right. anyway;

erin is the first person kaitlin uses her command powers on, by accident, and they both hate it and it sucks very badly. kaitlin presses her to answer a question and erin has to obey and they're both understandably very freaked out by the whole thing. this direct confrontation with kaitlin's power is part of why erin is immediately like. "Oh It's OVER Over". it was erin's first time being directly exposed to this kind of magic--but she immediately felt how strong it was and understood what aster is planning to use it for (total crush victory)

erin and kaitlin do not really ... like each other very much after this and remain very wary of each other (kaitlin is very intimidated by erin but also feels guilty for what she did to her, erin sees her as a representation of aster's win/their upcoming confrontation + obviously does not feel great about having her free will messed with even if it was accidental). kaitlin is very timid and can't fully conceptualize how deeply uneasy she makes erin after their first meeting, because in her mind erin is very strong and unreadable and scary 😭 which is very fun to me personally

for a long time after that whenever they're forced to interact, erin defaults to treating kaitlin very like. detached, perfunctory, polite but not Friendly. and kaitlin is scared of her. LMAO

however they both have close ties with aster and aren't truly "enemies" either, especially as kaitlin starts to get her feet under her and push back against the less savory parts of aster's schemes. it's very obvious that erin never believed kaitlin would be anything more than aster's pawn, so when kaitlin finds her own opinions and starts rejecting things she doesn't like, it's kind of a change in her relationship with erin too. they start actually trusting each other as allies and people yknow. the "these assholes keep saving each other via ruining each others lives" cycle does absolutely include kaitlin rekindling erin's hope that things can be different (after first ruining her life w/ the IT'S OVER!! day). love world 🫶

The bad is when someone assumes their life and marriage without even knowing them in real life.

Can you make a comment about Barun not keeping the best of appearances compared to his contemporary actors (for example Arjun Bijlani)? Sure, but-

(1) Barun is a normal human being who might be going through a plethora of things (the human body and mind are extremely unique)

(2) it’s none of our damned business to figure out why he doesn’t look the way he did ten years ago with makeup and good lighting.

Maybe he has aged? Maybe he hates posing for cameras so he always looks a bit uncomfortable? Maybe he just didn’t get sleep last night? Who knows and who cares?

Also I’m baffled at you heaping blame on his wife when he has been very vocal about just how much he loves her and that she’s been the most important person in his life. Like this isn’t even an assumption. In the little he has spoken it is evident how much his marriage means to him.

Also btw Barun was working 16-18 hours a day, daily, for two-three years by the end of ipk. It’s insane. Tv actors often fall ill due to these extreme working conditions!

And Barun is neither the first nor the last one to do it. These people have taken a pause from working because they were burned out.

Also he was 25/26 when he shot IPK. Trust me at that point everyone knows what the world is and they’re far from innocent. He was a fully grown man. Married with a few solid years of work experience. He knew the world well enough to prioritize his mental health and family over any money producers would throw at him.

There’s a very thin line on how to talk about the decisions you think actors are taking based on parasocial relationships with the said actors and I literally only replied to you because:

- you dismissed mental health

- you’ve been on my blog before and you’ve been very sweet

At first, he would be shocked, then annoyed at how one of the 'new' ninjas would flirt with you. He would always say it was stupid, that they didn't even know you personally, but Jay would roll his eyes and huff in annoyance. You were his partner and he knew you well enough to know he could be jealous. He just didn't like seeing you get flirted up by someone who barely knew you. "I don't want you talking to them [your nickname]!" Jay pouted as you turned down another person's advances for dinner that night. You looked at him and smirked, making him squirm under your gaze.

"What? Do you have a problem with me speaking to other people?" You teased, knowing full well he had a thing about strangers flirting with you. He was so protective, and you loved that about him. "No! It's not that." Jay shook his head, taking your hand in his own. "It's just...you're my partner and I don't want you being near them," he explained. His frown deepened when you laughed at his statement, squeezing his hands gently before pulling out of his grasp. "You worry too much about it. I don't like them anyway" you assured him, smiling softly when he still frowned. "Really?" He asked, watching your smile widen. You nodded as he smiled back. "Well okay then. Not even glancing away from his game. "Is everything okay? You seem upset." You asked. He sighed, before putting his controller down on the table. "I'm fine." He said, turning to face you. You raised an eyebrow at him. "No, you're not." You said. He groaned. "Don't laugh at me, okay?" He muttered, looking anywhere but at you. You smiled reassuringly at him. "Never, Cole." You said. Zane would be confused cuz' he's never felt this kind of feeling before. Seeing the new ninja flirt and talk to you way differently than they talked to them made him confused. He felt, mad for some reason, he didn't want you talking to them. So he asked PIXAL about his emotions. "It seems that you're jealous of the 'new' ninja flirting and interacting with [reader]" She told him. "I am?" He couldn't deny that he thought that you were very attractive, but not as much as you were with him. He wanted all your attention to be on him, he didn't like seeing you around the new ninja when he was around, he didn't know why he was so upset about it but he was. Zane knew this wasn't right because you weren't interested in them, but every time he looked at them he just got upset. You walked around the monastery trying to find Zane. Kai had told you he was outside, training but he wasn't there. So you decided to check his room. You found him sitting at his desk staring out the window. "Hey Zane" He turned to face you, a small smile on his face. You smiled back as he stood up, walking over to you. You were standing only a few inches apart. "Hello Y/N, how may I help you?" His voice was soft and smooth as he spoke to you. "I wanted to check up on you. You've kinda been ignoring me for a few days so" You mumbled, and the room fell silent. Zane looked away from you for a moment and then back at you. "Oh, I'm sorry, please forgive me if my behavior has been quite rude. It's just..." He trailed off as his hand moved to yours and he began to intertwine your fingers together. "I've seen how the 'new' ninjas would flirt and touch you and I've been...jealous? Since." You frowned, "Is that why you've been avoiding me?" You said softly. Zane squeezed your hand lightly as he nodded. You giggled at his cute little expression, you cupped his cheek in your free hand and leaned in to give him a quick kiss on the lips. When you pulled away you saw he was smiling happily. "I love you and you only, no one else can change that" You whispered. Zane blushed bright red at your words, "Y/N..you don't mean that..." You laughed and shook your head. "Oh, I do! Now let's go get something to eat!"

Kai is such a hothead that he can’t help himself from jumping into conclusions like this. He doesn’t know where it came from. It just kinda happened. When he sees the new ninjaflirting with you, he feels something in his heart twist, like an elastic band stretching dangerously tight. It’s so obvious. And yet, no one has said anything about it. They haven’t done anything either, not that he knows of. Except for maybe Cole and Zane who have been giving him weird looks lately, but even they haven’t said anything. Maybe he was just overreacting but there are other people besides him that are flirting with you. Why not say something? That way it wouldn’t feel as awkward when he eventually gets jealous too, which could happen at any moment. “Hey, Cole! I need your opinion on something.” Kai says gaining Col's attention. His friend looks at him curiously, but nods.

“I think I should go talk to reader about something.” Cole blinks and cocks his head to the side slightly. “Is this about the new ninjas?" Cole asked. The red ninja nods vigorously. Cole rolls his eyes, "Tell them about it, tell them that the new ninjas make you jealous" he tells Kai. “But… I don’t want to make things weird” Kai says, cole frowns, clearly not buying that answer. "You're already making everything weird." Kai sighs defeated, "Yeah okay, fine. I'll tell them." When he told you that he got jealous of the new ninjas you were confused."What do you mean you're jealous of them? Are you jealous they might take me away from you~" You teased. Kai groans "You know what? Forget it, forget it, forget it. Just forget that I ever mentioned that. Forget I ever brought it up!" He says looking everywhere else but you. You chuckle before leaning over and kissing him on the cheek. Kai's cheeks turn bright red and his eyes widened in surprise. He turns his head towards you, looking straight into your eyes, and leans closer. He closes the distance between you two by placing his lips softly against yours.
