I Think you’re In Love With Me

Pairing: Draco x Slytherin!Reader

Author’s note: This is my first imagine, I based it off one of my fav songs. Hopefully you like it, I am open to any feed back! Also sorry for any typos, only did a quick edit. I hope this isn’t absolute trash haha. If you have any requests my ask box is always open.

Summary: Y/N is your classic bad girl type, sarcastic and always sporting an eye roll. She’s tired of Draco’s relentless flirting and attempts on her. But when Draco smells her aroma in potions she decides to confront him, but will he see through her tough girl act. Maybe just maybe she feels something for him too. (Based on the song I Think You’re - By NYNE. Is it just me or does this song suite Draco so well!! You can listen on Spotify)

Y/N wasn’t one to be messed with, every one knew that. She looked as if she could kill with just one glance of her piercing eyes. They were always highlighted with her signature winged eyeliner and dark green eyeshadow. She was a rule breaker, never one to listen to her professors, always sneaking out past curfew and causing trouble, a classic badass. Y/N didn’t know it but Draco always had his eye on her, stealing quick glances in the hallway, watching the way she would sway her hips with sass as she walked, or the way that she would twirl her dark brown locks around her finger opposite him in the Great Hall.

Y/N and Draco had a fairly complex relationship, they would constantly tease and flirt with each other, both of them relentlessl, neither backing down. Draco and Y/N had always been fairly close friends since they had been sorted into Slytherin together in their first year. At some point along the way, Draco thought maybe it had become something more. It was in their third year when he had noticed she came back different, she was taller, her hair was darker and her curves had filled out, Draco had started to feel a spike of nerves whenever he was in her presence. Not only had her body changed but she had matured over the summer break, enticed by her now snarky attitude and quick wit. He was more than surprised when she would retaliate to his mindless flirting, no longer allowing him to get away with it with rosey cheeks and a shy smile as you had used to in your second year. Unbeknownst to anyone else, he wanted her to be his, he had decided that he would do whatever it took to earn your heart.

Y/N’s POV

Luckily for Draco they had recently been assigned as partners in potions, and today just happened to be the day that Professor Slughorn was to teach them how to brew Amortentia, to say Draco was nervous was an understatement. He knew that this would lead to him exposing his feelings for her, there was no doubt in his mind that he would catch a whiff of her sweet aroma.

“Draco would you pass me the moonstone?” you ask not even looking at him. He glanced over at you, his signature smirk plastered across his face. “Where are your manners Darling? Say please and I might.” You roll your eyes at him and sigh. “Fine…my darling Draco will you please pass the moonstone?” you say with your most sarcastic tone. “See Darling that’s all you had to say” he says winking at you.

“That was the last ingredient, one more stir anti-clockwise and it’s ready.” You breathe out looking over at Draco, who happened to be staring at you, you flash him a quick smirk, knowing you had caught him. “Come on then Draco take a whiff.” Your sarcasm coming out once again, you watch as he leans over the cauldron, closing his eyes as he breaths in the potions fumes. “Well, What does it smell like?” You say sounding half interested. “I smell coconut shampoo, musk perfume and new books…” He trailed off, knowing he had given away his crush on you. He looked up to see you smirking at him. Before you had the chance to say anything Professer Slughorn had ended the lesson and Draco was out the door.

Draco’s POV

A few days since that night in the common room had passed and Draco was sat quietly in the library trying to fit some study in, when his two friends Blaise and Goyle sat down opposite him. He couldn’t help but want their opinion on his situation so he decided to spill and tell them about his crush on you. “Of course she knows that I fancy her Blaise, you should have seen the way she approached me about my Amortentia.” Draco says rolling his eyes at his two friends. He told them exactly what had happened in potions last week and how you had more than confronted him about it. “Merlin Draco, you need to throw it back to her” Goyle chuckles “Beat her at her own game” He finishes. “You might be onto something there Goyle, when did you start using that brain cell of yours?” Draco says snickering.

All week in potions Draco would tease you in some way, running his hand up the inside of your thigh, not quite high enough to were you needed him most, waiting for you to drop your bad girl attitude and give into him. To his surprise you took everything he threw at you, coming back just as hard. You would swirl your fingers dangerously close to his clothed crotch underneath your shared desk. But Draco always managed to keep a straight face, never giving in to your advances.

On this particular day in potions Draco’s hand was sitting dangerously close to your clothed heat as he drew circles into your soft skin with his thumb. “I can tell what you are trying to do Draco, it’s not going to work.” You say to him under your breath with your signature eye roll. “Come on Darling I know you want me, you’re a bad girl and you know it!” He says with a smirk. You look over at him with a smirk “you know you’re just as bad.” Merlin, he loved your bad girl side, you were both bad and everyone knew it.

Y/N’s POV

Draco kept up with your teasing, you’d go fast then slow, stop then go, you were utterly surprised that he had not caved in to your advances yet. But today was different you hadn’t seen him all day, it was as if he was avoiding you, you thought maybe he had become fed up with the constant teasing. You had just come from your Defence Against the Dark Arts class when you waltzed into the common room to see Draco sitting in his favourite chair by the fire. He was dressed head to toe in his black suit, making you weak at the knees. Merlin he looked so good in that suit, it contrasted against his platinum hair perfectly, you could tear it off of him there and then. He hadn’t noticed you yet, you decided to just stand there and admire him for a while longer, how he sat there, glass in hand, his favourite Firewhiskey no coke, the bright orange glow of the roaring fire reflecting on his pale skin, Merlin he was handsome.

“It’s rude to just stand there and stare Darling.” His husky tone catching you off guard. “I haven’t seen you around today.” You say matter of factly “I’m tired of chasing you Y/N” he said sternly. You instantly soften, you know that Draco has had a rough childhood, maybe it was time for you to tell him how you really felt before he became disinterested. “Dray, I know you’ve been hurt before, but you know I’ll love you more.” You were standing directly in front of him now. Draco staring deep into your eyes, his pupils dilated. He put his glass down on the table beside him, he was finally going to take what was his, he wrapped his arm around your waist jerking you forwards so that you ended up straddling him. His hand resting softly on your cheek brushing his thumb over your bottom lip. You couldn’t handle the teasing anymore, crashing your lips to his in a heated kiss. Draco relaxed into you, fighting your tongue for dominance. Biting your bottom lip he had won slipping his tongue inside. After a few minutes you pulled away needing air. “Not such a bad girl now are you?” He says smirking at you. “I’d describe myself more as a spice girl, nice girl, party all night girl.” You say with sarcastically while giggling. He chuckles at this, hands still firm on your waist. “Party all night definitely, nice girl, you are anything but.” He growls in your ear. “Yeah and you love it Malfoy.” You roll your eyes at him. “You know it Darling.”

Impromptu Ramblings about the NEO:TWEWY Demo

In case y'all weren't aware, I've been a pretty big fan of TWEWY for a couple years now, and with the sequel coming out next month, the excitement I feel for this game is greater than ever :) I played the Demo for the first time yesterday, and following a couple views of some livestreams of others playing it, I felt like sharing my (very ramble-y) thoughts prior to the release of the full game. This post WILL contain spoilers for both TWEWY and NEO:TWEWY, so if you want to avoid those from now on, please block the tags: #twewy spoilers, #ntwewy spoilers, #neo twewy spoilers, #ntwewy, and #neo twewy ^_^ Oh, and if you wanna keep up with any other posts I make about my experience with this game, please refer to the tag "kat plays neo twewy" :)

-First things first: I have not watched the Final Trailer and I don't plan on doing so to avoid spoilers, especially after the pre-release era of KH3 where a lot of the later trailers spoiled a lot of the endgame content. That being said, I've seen some minor screenshots from the final trailer including what many believe to be characters from the original TWEWY, namely Shiki and Joshua. That is all I know about the Final Trailer and I would very much like to remain as blind as possible going into NEO :)

-The very first cutscene was quite ominous in the sense that this game is likely going to be about "changing fate" (a recently common theme in Squeenix games, which I do appreciate), perhaps leading off from the end of A New Day in the OG and trying to stop an Inversion of Shibuya. Also worth noting that A New Day had similar aspects in which the main character experienced "future visions" of tragic events, although in A New Day these events were not able to be changed, while in NEO it seems like one of the main "powers" our protagonist has is specifically to rewrite these events and avoid a "bad ending." Very interesting indeed!

-I really like the revamped comic book style dialogue scenes, it's much more fluid and modern, which is an excellent direction for the series to take!

-I would love to have an actual PokemonGO knockoff of Final Fantasy creatures, please Squeenix that would be incredibleeeeee

-Also the LINE stickers??? Are so cute???

-I would just like to point out that Fret is an absolute treasure throughout this entire demo, he's hilarious and I will protect him with my life

-UHHHH don't like that Fret picked up some Reaper Pins just out of nowhere.....or the fact that they're apparently popular all over Shibuya.............did y'all not learn anything from the OG game or what lmao

-Okay so when I first got the "curry or ramen" scene and heard NPCs talking about the new curry place replacing the old ramen place I became IMMENSELY distressed that Ramen Don was totally cut from the game because....well, Ramen Don is a King okay?? But I'm glad to learn that no, he didn't fall off the face of the earth, he's still in business and he's the one opening the curry restaurant lolol. PHEW, crisis averted!

-.....I don't like the sudden appearance of a Wall Reaper and being able to read NPC thoughts. Wtf happened when they left the ramen place??? Are they playing the Game alive somehow?

-Okay so I have my own theories about this "Swallow" character and what they're up to but considering this is only the Demo and I still Have No Idea What's Happening, I'm just gonna say that I think Swallow intentionally led Rindo and Fret to the Crossing so they could join the Game. I mean, add in the fact that Swallow still communicates with Rindo during the Game and you've got yourself a suspicious character right there lol

-"Hey they're shooting off fireworks!" Fret honey that's not fireworks oof (see also: "*laughs* I'm in danger")

-WOOOOOO way to traumatize Rindo right off the bat like that LMAOO

-The visuals for the intro are VERY GOOD, the song is pretty decent until it gets all "screamo" (which I absolutely cannot stand sorry lol)

-Shoka is every Customer Service employee ever and I respect that

-Susukichi went from being "meh" to "WOW THIS GUY IS FUN" in the span of 10 seconds and I also respect that (he is also built like an Absolute Unit which is hilarious)

-The Wall Reapers (and just Reapers in general) seem.....way nicer and more helpful this time around?? Like in the OG the Wall Reapers were SO RUDE gfhjgjdfkhn and yeah I'm sure we'll get some like that but the juxtaposition of the first Wall Reaper in the OG compared to the first one in NEO is insane.

-The puzzles are quite a bit more entertaining this time around even if it's generally the same "fetch quest" formula lol

-"Rindo's Group" way to go Fret HFKJDGHSDFKJ mans really left the default name in there lmao

-OKAYOKAYOKAY so to those who aren't aware I am a MASSIVE SIMP for Sho Minamimoto, he's my absolute favorite and I think about him daily. HIS INTRODUCTION IS. INCREDIBLE. I LOVE IT SM.

-GOD hearing him actually SPEAK FULL SENTENCES is just SO SURREAL I love this sm

-Also the remix of his theme???? NEO TRANSFORMATION????? IT'S SO GOOD????????? It's like gone from a Boss Theme to a more triumphant sounding theme and I am HERE for it (every version of Transformation is just INCREDIBLE and getting a new one is even better)

-I Love Him, Your Honor

-Also idk how exactly but it's kinda weird seeing Sho in the OG vs NEO, cuz while he's mostly the same Insane Math-Obsessed Catboy, he's.....calmed down quite a bit?? Like OG made a whole point of how poorly he cooperates with others (not to mention just being completely unhinged and trying to kill everyone), whereas here in NEO he's......actually kinda working with others??? HELLO???? Sir what happened to you and Neku during those 3 years I would love to know all about it

-I guarantee you Sho is still probably scheming shite and will likely pull some total insane BS later down the road, and I am very much looking forward to that. Also, is he looking for a certain Pin or something??? Cuz he keeps talking about different Pins and even mentions "this is just another Psych Pin" like he's actively looking for a Pin to do something with. Maybe it also has to do with the "latent powers of Players" thing he mentioned as well??? What is this dude UP TO oml (also is he in contact with Neku at all?? they're both technically fugitives at this point right?? WHAT HAPPENED AFTER A NEW DAY I AM BEGGING YOU)

-I seems like Sho ALSO has an idea of what's going on in this specific game (even if he won't admit it straightforward). Per his quote "The game's 142,857. Factor it out," he's essentially saying, "This game is a neverending cyle, figure out how to get out of it" (or at least that's what I got from his "cyclic number" nonsense lolol)

-I do like how Sho mostly stays out of sight until he's needed for a battle or assisting with a mission, that's kind of on par with his whole "uncooperative" quirk from the OG, plus he might literally have to stay out of sight of other Reapers and Players considering he's likely breaking the rules of the Game (not surprising considering him and Neku broke practically every rule in the book during OG)

-The nicknames for Sho- I can't- They're so FUNNYYYY GFHJSDFKJ

-He goes from being called "Pi-Face" and "Tabooty" in OG to "Mr. Minami" and "M-Teezy" in NEO LMAOO

-(Wowee I just realized I've been mostly talking about Sho oopsies sorry y'all, this is what I meant by thinking about him almost daily he is THAT much of a fav of mine ghfkjsd)

-Okay RIP Fret and Rindo for not getting literally ANY explanation as to how the Game works OOF, that is kinda cringe that whoever gets the Pin earns points, not whoever erases the Noise (which like I understand but also URRRGGHHH I WANNA SEE THE SQUAD SUCCEED)

1. the predatory wasp of the palisades is out to get us! by sufjan stevens i chose this song because it’s all about internalized homophobia and being in love with your best friend as a kid which RLLY resonates w jotakak imo. esp cause in the song, stevens’ friend ends up leaving abruptly, leaving stevens to wonder about what couldve blossomed if they had stuck together and worked through the difficulties together, which JOTARO....THAT IS JOTARO-CORE esp cause kak also “leaves” (dies). so this song was a v obvious choice for me and in fact this song is what inspired me to create this playlist in the first place

2. we are beautiful, we are doomed by los campesinos! this song is abt being in love with someone but you both have ur issues so it’s kind of a mess. considering jotaro and kakyoin’s (to point it quite frankly) trauma and the fact that both of them do jack shit to try and cope with it healthily, this song DEFINITELY fits them. esp cause this song mentions physical fighting and the imagery that goes with it (”he got his teeth fixed/im gonna break them”, “i’ve got a fist on fire”, etc) and the entirety of the bridge/last verse rlly gives me these two’s vibes so! ya (:

3. love love love by of monsters and men this song is the singer feeling like shes completely unworthy of being loved by this important person in her life, particularly because she has NO idea how to show affection and love the (for lack of better word) “acceptable” way, or any way at all really. this REALLY has jotaro vibes cause he is one repressed motherfucker and as we see the entirety of his story, jotaro is full of love he loves so much it’s just he has no idea how to properly express it cause he’s scared essentially. but that didn’t stop people from loving him, in this case, that being kakyoin. hhhhHHh

4. ribs by lorde this song is about being scared of growing up but due to the lyrics being written the way they are, i kinda spin the interpretation of it to be the fear jotaro and kakyoin had on the crusade to egypt, as they were the youngest and didnt know if they’d make it back and everything is just incredibly overwhelming there is so much going on all the time those 50 days. i can do a full analysis on why but that would be kinda long LMAO. for now let’s leave it at they have a very Unique fear of growing up but it still fits with the lyrics. particularly the last bit of the song with the “youre the only friend i need” verses,,,makes me think of these two...

5. can i call you tonight? by dayglow i interpret this song to be about trying to figure out what, exactly, your feelings are for this very specific and important person in your life. since jotaro and kakyoin r both repressed and also suckers of internalized homophobia, i think they fit that theme very well. particularly with the whole “i feel like we’re close, but maybe we’re not actually? what are we?” theme going on in the lyrics, this whole song makes me think of jotaro and kakyoin figuring out their intense and sudden (cause again only 50 days but also, those 50 days had So Much going on) feelings for each other. also the “now i’m no longer alone” line in the chorus HHHHHHH that’s them

6. la la la love song by toshinobu kubota ft naomi campbell SO I KNOW THIS SONG IS KINDA JUST FLUFF but we need some light-hearted moments in this thing hjgg;. ALSO toshinobu kubota is canonically jotaro’s favorite musician so i wanted to reference that and this was my fav love song of his that i’ve found so far so (: also the “you are my shining star” line,,,heh

7. truce by twenty one pilots so this song is very soft. it’s about tending to wounds and taking a moment before continuing to push on. it makes me think abt jotaro and kakyoin taking care of each other on the journey (for example the lovers arc/n’doul fight). also the whole “stay alive, stay alive for me/you will die, but now your life is free/take pride in what is sure to die” makes me go fucking nuts that is. that fits these two to a T fuck

8. this side of paradise by coyote theory this song has big “two lonely people are in love with each other for the first time” vibes and OHHHHHHHHHH THAT’S JOTAKAK.... there are a lot of little lines that make me specifically think abt these two, such as “love so strong it makes me feel weak” (jotaro-core...), “if you’re lonely come be lonely with me”, “i’ll be yours if you’ll be mine” (wanting some security while ur in love for the first time is common but especially for these two i think it works spectacularly) but yea this song as a whole is just...ohhh them. theyre in lvoe HK;FNJFL

9. i saw you in a dream by the japanese house EVERY. SINGLE. LINE. OF THIS SONG IS POST-EGYPT JOTARO. EVERY SINGLE LINE. and the ghost the singer talks about seeing? they hadnt changed at all? they were such a pretty vision, a perfect hallucination? BRUH... just listen i could do a whole analysis on this song it all just fits jotaro mourning kakyoin throughout the years so so so so well it makes me feel nuts holy shit i just. literally every line. every line fits i am not joking. i cried when i first heard this song LMAO

10. video games by the young professionals SO LMAO obviously kakyoin’s epic gamer moves are being referenced but beyond that i interpret this song to just be the fun parts of being in love esp when ur young (backed up with the “kissing in the blue dark” and the “watching all our friends fall” lines). also the chorus just makes me want to cry cause just, happy jotakak moments PLEASE. “the world was built for two only worth living if somebody is loving you, and baby now you do” THEYRE NOT ALONE ANYMORE THEY FOUDN EACH OTHER IM GONAN WAILLLLLLL oh my god. im nuts theynkjNJKNJF also “i heard that you like the bad girls” please. these two shitty teenagers

11. ikanaide by sohta ft. yuki kaai this song is abt not wanting someone u love to leave u cause youll miss them obviously but also ur scared of how the time will change you and if it’ll make you unrecognizable eventually. big post-egypt jotaro vibes 😔 especially cause one part of the chorus translates to “i shouldnt cry, i shouldnt cry, but the truth is i want to say dont go” and im jus like OHHHHH NO IT’S JOTARO FINDING OUT KAKYOIN DIED jkfnNKJFNJDhkld

12. therefore you and me by eve ALRIGHT. god this song is one hell of a doozy. i interpret this song to mean being sincerely in love but youre in the wrong place/wrong time. considering the uh Whole Situation in part 3 there were definitely better times to fall in love for these two. jotaro and kakyoin try to be happy w the moments they do have (i think the second verse in particular adds to this sentiment what with the selfish ghosts part) but they want a better environment understandably so theyre also just kinda ignoring things until they can properly care for a relationship. but well...who knows if theyll live to make it to that better environment ):

13. mayonaka no door/stay with me by miki matsubara this song is a v sweet sentiment abt like “it’s not just heat of the moment!! i do care about u a lot!!” and asking the person u have feelings for to stick around. big kakyoin and jotaro vibes as it would be easy to call what they have a fling considering how relatively short of a timeframe they had but i genuinely think their relationship was deeper than just that and this song nicely reflects such. “jotaro and i will share a room cause we’re both students” fuckin head ass

14. a thousand years by sting oh sting.... so since sting is kakyoin’s favorite musician canonically i had to add one of his songs here as well but beyond just that i do think this song fits them!! it kinda gives me big “if not in this life, then the next” vibes which is a big uhhh thing for jotakak. they may be doomed to tragedy but the moments they have together make the tragedy worth enduring ironically i feel like this song is mostly from jotaro’s pov considering i dont think he ever completely got over kakyoin and this song def has that kinda sentiment but hey it fits them...

15. mr loverman by ricky montgomery SO FUNNY STORY i actually REALLY. REALLY didnt wanna add this song at first cause i felt it wouldve been...idk too cliche? i guess? and i was ALL kinds of picky when choosing songs for this playlist HOWEVER. eventually i relistened to it and read the lyrics while thinking specifically abt jotakak and it actually rlly does fit quite well KJDFN; another jotaro mourning song ): it’s not just the chorus tho the whole song fits jotaro immediately post-egypt but also i feel like some time around part 4 this sentiment would come back to him cause Yknow. Gays In Morioh and the mess of his family life back in america. it just aches for him cause while he’s happy josuke is happy he wishes he couldve had that for him and kakyoin too but yea jus ... them

16. you by petit biscuit an instrumental?? in a ship playlist?? yes that’s right much like mr loverman i was hesitant to put this song in cause it’s harder to justify since i dont rlly know much abt music (and not to b controversial but interpreting lyrics and interpreting music r two different things) however i really think the vibes of this song fit jotakak. it’s got a somber melody but the keys of the piano are high which im taking to mean “light in the dark” which. jotaro and kakyoin (along w the rest of the crusaders) were each other’s lights in the dark. also the ending samples a conference/lecture talking about space flight and like. star platinum. space symbolism. jotaro. yeah

17. saturn by sleeping at last MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. this song is all about losing someone very close and important to you, but reflecting on the good they brought into your life rather than the pain of losing them. this song also has HEAVY space imagery which stardust crusaders is absolutely chalk fucking full of so also it’s a very philosophical song and considering that jotaro and kakyoin are both Nerds and both got a nice view of the stars/space in the desert with each other, im sure they had conversations similar to the one highlighted in the song. i think it’s a good note to end the playlist on cause kakyoin is dead and jotaro is the survivor but it’s not a mourning song so much as jotaro taking the love he had for kakyoin and pushing forward with it allll th way into part 6

Hello!! Just wanted to say I just re read Heard Your Heart Beating for like... The fifth time, probably?? And now that I know ur tumblr, I just wanted to say. Its probably one of my fav Klapollo fics. I LOVE your characterization in it. Especially Apollo's, in which he gets flustered and provoked quite easily but he can also get super sassy and bitchy lmao. And I love his and Klavier's friendship? It makes me so happy to see fics where their pre-relationship is explored. I love seeing romantic interactions but it's also SUPER nice to see them just being... Platonic and hanging out together and supporting each other and being friends!! I mean relationships are founded upon friendships so it's really cute to read about them before they get all romantic too. I loved reading about their Valentine's Day hangout at Apollo's house. It's just... So chill. Even though you touched on the big Kristoph issue, it is also lighthearted at times. It was really nice to see Kristoph being addressed but it not being the whole point of their 'date'. And their banter...... Omg.... Especially Klavier's highkey flirting LMAOOO ITS SO FUNNY TO READDD!!! And Trucy omg.... I love the inclusion of her because of course she needs to be included. Love her. Anyways thank you so much for writing it!!! I don't want to, like, unknowingly pressure you into continuing or anything though!!! I just wanted to share my thoughts! I know how hard it can get continuing a fic when you have real life obligations lol. Anyways I will be suppperr happy if you do but even if you don't! Anon, I am just dead from this comment.  When I read this, I wanted to cry because I am just so touched and humbled.

“Heard Your Heart Beating” has such a special place in my heart and I am sorry that it takes me 5ever to write in general that the updates to it are slow. Never did I think that a story I came up with nearly seven years ago (lsdkfmslkfdm) would take me this long to write but also I like taking my time with it, as I’ve never ever written a slow-burn fic.

I love Klapollo so much, and I just want to do them justice (haha), because there is so much there between them as characters.  They’re two characters bound by tragic events but, they’re both forthright individuals who have a lot of external factors (good and bad) impacting their relationship.

AA5 was such a great game and full of emotion, but there was a lot to read in between the lines-  Apollo had suffered a personal tragedy in losing Clay, and his introduction as an attorney had been fraught with betrayal and a lot of fighting against the odds, then he nearly has to accuse Athena for Clay’s murder...and it was just a lot for him.  

As for Klavier, the year prior had left him with the truth that he’d been used and betrayed by his brother and his best friend...and then as he’s picking the pieces of his life together, transitioning from the rocker life that was his way of life/protection from Kristoph for 7 years, his mentor is murdered.  Klavier is a genius prosecutor, he most likely advanced early through Themis, changed his career path, graduated, got his badge, and then his debut is just a mess.  Apollo brought him back to the courts but Klavier, it seemed at least to me in DD, was still trying to figure out where he fit in.  

Constance Court’s impact on Klavier is a big part of Heard Your Heart Beating and will be explored in later chapters.

But yeah I liked the idea of these two coming together organically- they’re both highly empathetic people, so there is common ground there.  Klavier knows that Apollo has seen the Kristoph that Klavier once knew and admired. It’s easy to paint Kristoph as a monster, but when you look at how Apollo and Klavier speak of him (before the murders obvs) you can tell that all they both wanted was to make Kristoph proud.  And I also wanted to explore those human moments with Kristoph too.  Yes, he’s an asshole- but he was someone that Apollo and Klavier looked up to.  So that betrayal and grief is something they can both share, and while Daryan is still alive, Klavier’s friendship with him died metaphorically. But the hurt and pain of not having that friendship, not having that person you love platonically in your life for the rest of your life- is a death unto itself not unlike Apollo’s pain and grief over losing Clay. 

They strike me as two people who are just looking for safety, and they both recognize (Klavier more quickly than Apollo, although I feel it’s subconscious on Apollo’s part) that they can have that safety with each other.   This theme is reflected in the title.  It’s from the song “Cosmic Love” by Florence + The Machine.

“Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too So I stayed in the darkness with you “

When I heard this song while writing the opening drafts of this story, I felt that this song summed up Apollo and Klavier in this story-  they’re both in personal darkness that no one else seems to understand, but when they recognize that the other is in that same darkness- they reach out, even if it means remaining in that grief and sadness, there is comfort in knowing that you’re understood and not alone.

Oof that was a tangent hahaha.

The Valentine’s Day scene was one of my favorite scenes to write. It comes from such a personal moment between the comfort I’ve found with my own friends during a time where I was trying to get my footing in life.  Also, not to side note again, but this fic is actually pretty personal- I’ve never really put my own personal experiences or feelings into a story to the extent that I have in this fic. The opening chapter was written during a time when I thought I was losing my best friend- I had commiserated a lot with Apollo while playing DD- I cried while writing it and I still cry when I read it because it is so intrinsically tied to that time of grief and a feeling that the universe was taking my friend away from me.

So the Valentine’s Day scene was meant to be a scene of comfort and banter- two friends, just hanging out together rather than being alone on “Singles Awareness Day”.  I love that everyone had an expectation of where I was going with that scene.  Especially when alcohol was introduced and then it ended up with them being in Apollo’s bed XD.  It amuses me that their first time ever sharing a bed together would be under the most platonic of circumstances XD.

Anyway, thank you so much anon for the lovely comment- it definitely made my day and made me look over my drafts for this story :)  Maybe an update will come soon!

Those of us who started early didn’t have much or even nothing at all (not even Spotify!). We, the fans, had to support each other building up the fandom into what it is today from scratch. The only advantage the earlier fans had was the fact that the band members had public Twitter/Instagram accounts back then.

How popular is MFS in Japan?

Hmm... interesting. 

I met a Japanese guy who looked like he was in his late 20s in Sept 2019 at a hostel in Fukuoka . Upon knowing that I was there to see MY FIRST STORY, he said, “Sugoii!! They’re very popular you know.” 

I was a bit astonished to hear it as I assumed MFS was not known much, “Really 😮?? I'm not Japanese. So, I don’t know if they’re popular here or not.���

“Yes, they’re very popular,” he said in an affirming manner, smiling 😀.

Our conversation ventured on to ONE OK ROCK after that though 😅. It’s like a given that anyone who knows MFS would know who OOR is. We ended up watching OOR videos on YouTube together with his friend and another traveller in the hostel common area.

Looks like MFS is known just enough but .....🤔

They’re NOT YET at a point where people of any walk of life you meet in Japan would know them like they do with OOR. Hiro’s brother Taka’s face was practically plastered on billboards all over for Honda in 2019. 

It’s not an exaggeration to say that OOR is moving up bit by bit towards the level of super Senpai like HYDE and L’arc en Ciel sooner or later. I’m not talking musically or artistically. I’m talking about the level of being known by the general public in their country.

I would say that MFS is still mostly only known by the teens and the 20-somethings which is their main market. But once you reach the point where babies and 80-year-old grandmas also know who you are, then you have reached the golden plateau. Which is why MFS is actively trying to expand their fanbase by collaborating with many different artists.

It's a big blessing too that MFS leader Sho Tsuchiya is a songwriter/producer behind the scene and this opens lots of doors for them to get song projects. Getting that King & Ashley theme song on Netflix is important for the band's “brand awareness".

* Personally though I feel that Hiro's status as a Moriuchi is what has been garnering attention from the media. Especially now that Hiro is more open with talking about his family in public. But hey, it's still publicity for MFS indirectly 😄

By Indie artists’ standard, MFS is secure. However...

MFS wants to be an arena selling band and later on the Dome. They want more than being secure at ZEPP Hall level (can easily sell out 2.5K~3K pax per Hall) and the Budokan (10K~12K pax no problem). However I can’t close my eyes to the fact that they didn’t quite fill up Saitama Super Arena. My analysis of that situation here.

I personally feel their target planning is a bit too tight in timing:

Nippon Budokan (2016 ~ 12K pax)

Makuhari Messe (2017 ~ 18K pax)

Yokohama Arena (early 2019 ~ 18K pax)

Saitama Super Arena (late 2019 ~ 18K pax)

Tokyo Dome (planned for 2021 ~ can they reach >18K pax?)

Being Indie means they don’t quite have the budget or networking power for the marketing machines that big labels have. Add to that, the entire Live entertainment industry around the world is being financially crippled by a deadly pandemic.

The Corona virus situation unfortunately came at the most crucial time for MFS to build the momentum for the Tokyo Dome show 😖. I do hope they will continue using their digital platforms wisely and strategically. Learn the algorithms and stuff.

Can MFS do the Tokyo Dome by 2021?

Would they take advantage of the “social distancing" rule to do a fully seated show with huge spacing in between and charge higher ticket prices without the pressure of selling >18K tickets 🤔?

To me it's more realistic for MFS to postpone the Tokyo Dome show to another year or two or even 3+ if they want to build up an attendance number beyond 18K pax 🤔. The problem is with the current Corona situation, can they financially afford to postpone any show much longer 😕?

I think that one thing that every game has, regardless of how good the game is, is good music. So, being the music lover I am- I know these all by name and always have. 8) Legend- Legend of The Crystal Skull. Long time Austin friends will know CRY was my first game, and thus this song was my very first ND victory music and honestly, it is PERFECTION. Hearing this play while walking through the cemetery and when finding the skull made this game perfect for me, and I will always remember this as my first ND victory jingle.

7) Fiona- Haunting Of Castle Malloy. HAU is truly beautifully haunting, and one of the best things about the game is the music. I think I cry just about every time I am playing HAU and this song plays. Fiona is a truly tragic character, and this music hints and hints at it. Art.

6) Drive- Secret of Shadow Ranch. I have always had some problems with SHA (Mainly the repetitive chores), but this song motivates me to actually do the chores and I have always loved it. It also PERFECTLY plays as Nancy is riding Bob for Tex and lassoing, and sets this game’s tone in the best possible way.

5) Moulin- Danger by Design. This is probably one of the most memorable songs from any of the ND soundtracks. This song is the one that always plays in my head, even though DAN is not one of my favorites. This is also the song I study to @ladylindaaa (teehee), and is just all in all beautiful.

4) Society- Last Train To Blue Moon Canyon. I was torn between this one and “Train” (the victory music when you find the map), but society has always been the most memorable from TRN for me, even though it doesn’t really set the tone like other games do. 3) Shanty- Sea of Darkness. (I am not including the vocals to Word I couldn't keep to maintain the theme of instrumental) SEA if perfection, from Dagny, to atmosphere, to music. This music really set the music in the games at an all time high (which sucks if you consider how MID was. MID’s music was fun but a drastic difference from SEA). This track is everything.

2) Bridgette- Curse of Blackmoor Manor. WHat’s that? My CUR fav ISN’T Renaissance? It's more common than you think. This song I have always been able to sing the sung version of from memory. This song is probably the single most iconic thing from this game, if not the entire series. CUR is at a peak when ND was at it’s prime, and I cannot stress enough how amazing this song is.

Hiro & Genova: Genova’s father is very happy to see that she’s with someone who makes her happy and helps her feel more confident. Though Hiro’s sister has only heard of her brother’s girlfriend through letters she’s happy for him and supportive. All their friends are happy to see the two together, Zeus is always bargin (we all kno how he was in hiro’s route).

Lucious & Akemi: Akemi’s family thinks their relationship is super cute and couldn’t be any happier (tho they were surprise when they found out not only was he once a prince, but he was trapped in a labyrinth for a very long time.) Their friends think it’s the cutest thing (the cutest couple in the night class and probs the whole academy).

Lucious & Akemi: Lucious buries himself in prefect work to help pass the time or probably off yelling at Zeus or Caesar. Akemi just kinda curls up with Fay (or another friend) and munching on snacks while thinking about Lucious.

So I think this challenge is to answer 11 questions asked by the person who tagged you, then ask 11 questions and tag others!

moving on with @carmina-solis ' questions:

1. How long have you been working on your WiPs?

I've been working on West Nile for over four years now!! I've also had The Song of Laisix in my mind for around the same time, but I've started seriously worldbuilding and planning for a year now. I've started on Homeward for about six months, and Cairo Dreamers only last week.

2. What is your favorite genre to write? Why?

My favorite genre is YA, mainly because I'm going through that phase in my life right now, but also because I love themes of self-discovery and identity. Fantasy is my favorite genre to write as well, urban or otherwise, because I've just been writing it for such a long time and I feel I can take more creative freedom in it than I can in other genres.

3. Is there a particular theme you notice cropping up in your work or characters?

I often like to play around with the "chosen one" archetype, and often find myself writing arcs that involve a loss of innocence or the discovery of unpleasant truths. I also really like writing kind, sweet characters who retain their kindness through it all.

4. Are there any themes you find not at all interesting?

Hmmm. Mainly it's just the ones I'm tired of seeing everywhere. Eurocentric settings, maybe, and a lot of eurocentric themes too, like the "white savior" trope or barbarism vs civilization or other borderline racist themes. I'm also tired of the "nice guy who sticks around for the girl after she gets heart broken by Bad Boy" trope.

5. How do you develop the themes in your work?

Usually by accident, haha. I write mainly character driven stories, so I go by the arc I feel is appropriate for that character to have. I create a character, detect the main crisis in that character's life, and solve it, and that solution is the theme. For example, in Song of Laisix, I have four main characters. All what they have in common is struggling with a larger-than-life destiny. As such, the theme of the story is the subversion of the "chosen one" trope.

6. What kinds of writing to you like to do?

Mainly novels, but I also do poetry.

7. Describe your favorite character's room or personal space.

Tezael's room is very messy. There's a big, airy window that lets a lot of sun and moonlight in. The walls are filled with char signs and all sorts of strange marks because of her practicing her magic. The ground and desk are strewn with all manner of scrolls and books. There's a coathanger nearby for her cloak. Her bed is rarely made, and she rarely sleeps in it- she sleeps on the window ledge.

8. Which of your characters would make the best detective?

Lin, most likely. She's trained as an assassin. Although paired with Aedion, who can fly and shapeshift, she'd be very formidable. They'd make a really great pair, tbh, I want to write this.

9. If you could , would you want to teach a course on writing or conduct a seminar?

Maybe when I'm older! I'd love to go into academia.

10. Which book has inspired you to write?

As much as it pains me to say it, Game of Thrones did a lot of inspiration for Song of Laisix, but it's minimal, really- Song of Laisix is radically different in theme, tone, and demographic. Hiromu Arakawa's Fullmetal Alchemist inspired a lot of the characters and themes in West Nile. Adventure Time isn't a book, really, but it also inspired Song of Laisix a lot. Also, Neon Genesis Evangelion, again, not a book, largely inspired Homeward.

I've noticed that most of these aren't even books lmao

11. Is there an author you can't stand (even if they're well-respected?)

JK Rowling, as much as it pains me as someone who grew up reading Harry Potter, is a known transphobe, homophobe, and racist. I also cannot stand Sarah J Maas. I just don't like her writing at all, and feel it has a lot of undertones, writing tropes, and themes I dislike.

1. What was your fav book growing up?

Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones (it still is), and Black Beauty by Anna Sewell.

2. What genre is your WiP?

West Nile is a YA urban fantasy. Song of Laisix is a YA/NA fantasy. Homeward is a YA sci-fi cyberpunk. Cairo Dreamers is a YA mystery drama.

3. Are any of your OCs based on people?

Not really. If they are, it's subconscious.

4. What is your guilty pleasure read?

Fanfic lmaoooooo. I've got my favorites saved in PDF version on my phone.

5. If you could summarize your WiP in three words, what would they be?

West Nile: what is law

The Song of Laisix: destiny is superficial

Homeward: just ask vika

Cairo Dreamers: idiots fight crime

6. What do you take inspiration from?

Lots and lots of anime and manga, even some cartoons. West Nile is inspired by Fullmetal Alchemist and Noragami. Song of Laisix is inspired by Adventure Time. Homeward is inspired by Cowboy Bebop and Neon Genesis Evangelion.

7. How do you deal with writer's block?

Usually I take a break for a couple of days, watch some anime, draw, get inspired once more. Music usually does the trick.

8. What's your fav TV show?

Fullmetal Alchemist (2003).

9. Are you in any fandoms? What are they?

I used to be in voltron fandom, but I largely left. Currently I'm trying to get into the mahou shoujo scene.

10. How long have you been writing your WiP for?

Buckle up kids. This is a long post about my wonderful @dinglehorton

I’ve been thinking long and hard about what I want to do to show my appreciation to Mel. I’m not talented. I can’t make a gifset of their favorite things or a write a story featuring Will Horton, David Platt, and Reid Oliver (oh lord how I wish I could). But I want to express just how much they’ve meant to me this past year.

Fandom is a funny thing. It’s a wonderful place to meet people who share a common interest with you but it also has a way of bringing out the worst in both yourself and in others. When I left the Glee fandom, I vowed to be forever done with fandom life. Glee utterly drained me. It’s not a coincidence that the last years of the show, when I was most active in Tumblr fandom, were also the years where my depression was at a dangerous low.

So, when Glee ended….I was done. I met some great people who I’ve been following for years, which spilled over to Instagram and Facebook. Our paths have diverged over the years but I would ride or die with those guys. I’m too invested in their lives to completely cut them out of my own. But fandom life? No more. I eventually went days without going on Tumblr. Days turned into weeks and I eventually deleted the app from my phone. I even forgot my password at one point.

But when I DID go on Tumblr, I’d see some people post things about Rob and Aaron. I knew who Aaron was --I had watched his coming out story in 2008 and I was a bit intrigued to see what he was up to. So I investigated a bit and liked what I saw. I watched the clips from Robert confessing to Aaron he slept with Rebecca and I was GONE. I needed to watch more. I dove headfirst into my watch and started to follow more Robron/Emmerdale blogs. Some people followed me back, including Mel, but I was committed to being a lurker.

I don’t remember HOW I came across Mel’s page. But I did and liked their content a lot. We didn’t talk….not until I mentioned Luke and Reid. My first message from them was crying over the what could have been with that couple.

My second:

“just wanna let you know that ily and you’re so so so so so so kind like????!!! you’re so nice idk what to do with it half the time and if i could i would wrap you up in a blanket and feed you your fav foods and beverages and watch all our fav tv shows together <33333333”

And if that doesn’t tell you all you need to know about Mel, then I don’t know what will.

They weren’t afraid to talk to me. Or let me dump a load of feels over Robert/Aaron or Luke/Reid into their ask box. They didn’t brush me off or ignore me, which is what I found a lot of the times in the Glee fandom. They were kind. Generous. Funny. And absolutely wonderful to me. My interactions with Mel made me feel that maybe the Emmerdale fandom was different. That people were more open with one another. Because of Mel, I got over myself and messaged other people. I took a few steps into being a bit more active in the fandom.

And guess what? People *actually* talked to me. Responded to my asks and messages. Started coming to my inbox. Shared their social media with me. Became invested in MY LIFE.

Because of Mel.

I’m not joking when I say that Mel is the reason I am in this fandom and the reason why I’ve stayed in it.

This fandom has its moments, don’t get me wrong. I’m fortunate that I don’t get the gross stuff in my inbox that a lot of others get (including Mel) but when I do get it or see it, I…react. And a lot of times, Mel has stood up for me and defended me from nasty people. But I still enjoy this fandom. I still love the interactions I have with others. I still love reading meta (oh god do I love meta). I love reading fics. I love discovering people’s other interests.

I cry over Mel’s talent all of the time.

One thing I appreciate about Mel is their willingness to be open about their health and struggles, which has made me be more open about my own. And when I’m having a shit day, Mel will send me a message making me feel loads better. Mel lives their life honestly and genuinely. They are what we all should strive to be like in fandom.

Simply put, Mel has had a huge impact on my life that goes beyond fandom. I’m so fortunate they live in Minnesota because when I go back and visit my fam, I’ll have the opportunity to see Mel in person and gave them the hug I’m so stoked to give.

Mel, I love you. All of us who know you are better for it. Thank you for sending me that first message about Luke and Reid. Thank you for being a friend (as the Golden Girls’ theme song starts playing...)

Top 3 eurobeat songs per season of Initial D.

This has been in my askbox forever, sorry about that. I decided to be sneaky and did not include my all time favourites I listed in this reply in order to have more space to share my other favourites, hehe. Here they are (under read-more):

1st stage

3. Dave Rodgers - SpaceboyAt first I did not plan to include Spaceboy at all but when I waded through all favourite candidates, I ended up listening to it anyways and a wave of so strong feel of nostalgia washed over me that I realized that I just cannot leave it out. Spaceboy was one of the first eurobeat songs I heard after Touhou eurobeat and Initial D’s opening scene is legendary; the song is simply iconic. The song reminds me of many happy memories :’)

2. Niko - Night Of FireThis one was difficult. For a long time I kept Get Me Power on the list instead of Night Of Fire because it has such a cool intro but… in the end it was the nostalgia (and meme) value of Night Of Fire that changed my mind. A true classic.

1. Mr. Groove - Night & Day“I don’t know what I am doing –”Surprise, it’s a song from Takumi vs Ryosuke race but not Beat Of The Rising Sun like one could have expected.

Second Stage top 3 seems to consist purely of Tomas Martin’s songs. Anyways, what all these songs have in common is a combination of very nice synth sounds and jumpy eurobeat-typical bassline, an upbeat and moving rhythm, clear melodic vocal parts and that they are catchy af (especially Burning Desire). Distortion guitar sounds and modulations are also musical turn-ons.

Battle Stage

3. J. Storm - Dancin’ in My DreamsThis is on the list purely because of its shock value. I had not heard Fabio Lione singing eurobeat before listening to this one and I will never forget the exact moment when I recognized his voice.

2. Mega NRG Man - Express Love“Express love / And I cry (die) for you tonite / And I’m dying (crying) but you, you give an / Express love”I just love how the lyrics are desperate but the melody is catchy and jumpy riffs are even slightly goofy :D Gotta love eurobeat.

1. Max Coveri - Golden AgeCatchy. Lyrics are kind of nonsense (typical eurobeat) but they give these very cool “90s cyberfuture utopia” vibes.

3rd stage

3. Michael Beat - Kiss Me GoodbyePurely because of intro and synth riff.

2. The Spiders From Mars - Fly To Me To The Moon And BackKind of adorable song with a nice intro and jumpy riffs.

1. Dave Rodgers - The Race Is OverMy favourite ending along with Rage Your Dream and Gamble Rumble (using 3rd stage’s opening as Final stage’s ending was literally the best idea).

3. Manuel - On My WingsFav boy had to be on the list.2. Dave Rodgers - EldoradoThis one has a very generic eurobeat song structure but it works damn well. Transitions between parts are noticeable but smooth. I like dem harmonies. (In addition, guitar solos sound exactly what they should sound like in a Dave Rodgers song.)1. Dave Rodgers - Wild Reputation (2005)Dave Rodgers sounds amazing in this one. I like lyrics and how the song is more atmospheric and in some way more emotional than generic eurobeat.(4th stage was one of the hardest ones, so many good songs…)

Battle Stage 2

3. Mega NRG Man - Back On The RocksI am a thot for songs that use melodies from classical music and Toccata and Fugue in D minor is also The Official Skyline Theme Song, enough said. (However, on a separate note I must say that I am disappointed that the anime does not feature Bach is Back. It would have been perfect for Fifth Stage’s fav R32 asshole. Eh, back to the list.)

2. Manuel - Sun In The Rain Somehow a very energizing song; puts me in a bit better mood right away.1. Ace - Futureland Classic. Clear melody lines and catchy rhythms combined with visionary and escapist lyrics justifies its top position.

3. Dave Rodgers - The Race Of The NightEurobeat songs about cars and racing always have a special place in my heart and this one is especially clever.(Also fav boys’ song –)2. Jager - I Won’t Fall ApartEurobeat itself is a rather homogenous genre (lyrics are often about same subjects, songs have similar structures, synth sounds are alike…) so it is nice to have artists who have their own easily recognized style. Jager, along with several other artists, is one of them. Lyrics in this one are powerful and more serious than eurobeat lyrics in general.

1. Dejo & Bon - WheelPower & GoCan I just say that I love this song? It is everything I wish from a eurobeat song. Having heard intro’s car noises and sick guitar solo, I was already smitten. And then the bass and synth parts kicked in and it became even better. The lyrics are absolutely one of my all time favourites and combined with guitar, strong bass and just wonderful synth parts really captures that excited racing feeling fraught with adrenaline. (A guaranteed-speeding-ticket song)

Final Stage

3. David Dima - Dancing On The StreetThe choice between Magic Sunday and Dancing On The Street was tough. I guess the decisive attribute for choosing Dancing On The Street was plainly all those good memories I associate with the song (hehe). An energetic, feel-good song.2. Dave Rodgers - 1 FireIt is a funny association but the intro always gives me Rammstein vibes (must be synth riff’s scale and sound and lyrics about fire). Anyways, dramatic riffs fit “the final boss battle” excellently.1. Nuage - Crazy Little LoveIconic.
