No but okay I want to start a discussion about this lightcone, because it feels very important to me, but also I don't have a solidified idea of what its trying to symbolize/tell us. Like the puppet imagery is a very specific choice, and in retrospect you could argue it has to do with the way Sparkle puts up a fake persona/Aha themselves controls her (i think, im not big into Sparkle lore so correct me if I'm wrong.) But like, then we go to the Sampo puppet. So is he controlled by Aha? Or was he? Or is it about the fake persona he also puts up? Also I think it's important to note the details of their outfits: Sparkle's puppet is in her normal outfit, and Sampo...is in a suit? He doesn't have his grey hair? To me this implies this is what he looked like when he was last with the Masked Fools closely OR this puppet was made a while ago. WHICH IS SO INTERESTING.

Ive been noticing jks been showing a lot of his apartment lately, i know he usually doesnt shy away from this but it almost seems deliberate. He did it on his 3D tiktok where the camera angle intentionally went wider showing areas seen in that video. Also today in his live when showing where he films tiktoks he showed a fair bit of his apartment, again all the parts shown in that video. I apologise for bringing that up again it was just interesting to me because it almost seems like he wants people to notice how things were evidently different. Yes, I do ! I have some roblox ocs, two being for the game Regretevator ! Broseth is just a completely original guy that I had created based off one of my avatars, and Gamma Ray was kinda ... a shameless semi-self insert character to be buddies with one of my favorite characters in game (Mach)

I also have this guy, Tixton ! Based off the now deceased roblox currency, he was apart of a friend roblox oc group called Investors ! There's a long story to it all, but Tixton's whole deal was him being an undead ghost guy that was so hellbent on the idea of being alive again (he died with the removal of tix, and was young when that happened) that he basically tried to steal someone's body. I seem to have a liking for making undead / weirdly semi-undead characters, huh

Moving on from roblox, here's Bumbo ! A guy that was originally made for a fanbase I really don't wanna name, but has now been converted into a BBIEAL / Baldi mod oc ! Originally I was gonna kinda leave him the dirt after leaving aforementioned unnamed fandom, but my boyfriend helped me redesign him for his own Baldi mod / fangame ^_^ <3 Now he is my bumbling sweet baby boy

Now moving to . Ourple FNF ... ? There was this guy I created, Aerguhbee ! Though, I very much fell off of keeping up with Ourple / FNF stuff in general for a lot of reasons, I still kinda like this guy. He had a bit of a sloppy story, and it never really was even completed, but from what I remember- he was a trapped soul within a security monitor, killed in his place of work as a nightguard. The monitor served as an eternal purgatory for him called 'Moire Edge'. He was able to manifest a form outside of the monitor in order to lure others into his forever limbo, under the guise of becoming friends. If anything, I might just bring back this guy as a wholly original character since I do still kinda fuck with him

And, before going onto the next question (FINALLY), I'll throw in a bonus : Deacon originally wasn't LC related ! He was a Toontown : Corporate Clash oc, which is such a MAJOR contrast compared to how he is now LOL . I don't think he really had much of story when he was a TT:CC character, besides the fact of being secretly miserable about his job, but I think that's really it. I'll admit I kinda miss his really bright yellow, but I am so much more happier with him now (featuring my toon sona / oc in the last pic but this ain't about him)

As for Jawbreaker's home planet, they most likely are continuing on their lives as normal. Metsu probably does wonder where he went off to, but hey- not their problem anymore. As for what happened to the guards that failed to capture him again after his prison escape, they most likely were shattered (killed) and their resources recycled

THIS IS A TOUGH ONE. I think it's also just because all my original ocs are very personal to me and I genuinely treat them as parts of myself segmented into their own stories and worlds. Though, if I really have to pick one, I think it would be my art deity guy- which, I am kinda getting tired of just saying that, so I'll just say his name : Abstrakt Mondrian. He is very much an oc of mine that I hold close to my heart, especially considering his story deals with grief, and it almost sounds stupid to say he is an oc of mine that has helped me through a lot ? Also, design wise, I just really like him. Like, I'm not fucking joking when I say that I've had this guy for 4-ish years and his design has barely changed at ALL . It's crazy

Metanoia jumping to different dimensions does very much fuck up his appearance, and there have been a couple places he's found very dissatisfying or horrifying ! These dimensional distortions don't last whenever he exits the dimension that causes it, but it's not that pleasant for him in the moment. These distortions can range from very minimal things, things he can handle, such as a simple change of colors or height, to distortions that almost make him unrecognizable and feel uncomfortable in his own body. Here are some quick examples I did of those !

( Btw, distortions can be fucking crazy. The main thing about them is they could be literally any style and still work, so if anyone wants to take a crack at one you can literally go insane and do whatever LOL )

how do you make amvs? like do you plan them out before editing the clips together or do you do something different? im getting interested in making amvs and yours have always felt really cool to me

i will say that i taught myself to edit by trial and error and have learned all i know from watching amvs and making my own based upon What I Like, so. you know. there might be better resources out there idk ive not used them. mainly i do recommend just watching amvs you like, noting how they’re put together and what you find particularly effective about them.

but let’s talk about my process of making an amv. i listen to a lot of music and whenever i hear a song that a) goes hard and b) has interesting rgu-relevant lyrics im like ohohohooho. i’ll listen to the song on loop whilst im working/commuting/whatever and try to figure out what the song is trying to say, and how what the song is trying to say would change when put together with rgu. i might scribble down some notes, usually ‘MUST USE X SHOT FOR THIS BIT’ or a sentence or so of ideas about the theme i want to come through in the amv. when i actually start editing an amv, i typically have a rough outline of what i want it to look like, but i give myself the space to change that plan up bc sometimes you have to do that for whatever reason. idk. im quite loose and fast with the whole thing tbh

here are some principles i do try to stick by tho they might be helpful

figure out what you want the amv to say, and make sure you convey that

if it’s thematically relevant, and you can justify using it, put the clip in

if you just think it looks cool, keep looking for something else. sometimes ‘looking cool’ can be your justification for a clip, but i normally avoid it if it lacks meaning/contradicts what im trying to say

pick out episodes that are particularly relevant to your theme and try to primarily use those. when i want to grab a clip from outside ‘my episodes’, it’s always something specific like a shadow play id like to put in this context or a particular scene in an otherwise irrelevant episode

know your song!!!! listen to it with headphones, pick up on all the little nuances of it, try to use those to your benefit when editing. every time i edit an lc! song i become 10000 times more powerful bc i know all of their songs inside out

watch your amv over and ask yourself, what narrative have i conveyed here? if it doesn’t quite make sense, you should tweak it

im glad to see someone criticizing the concept of don being a bloodfiend again because the entire concept and explanation just seems so convoluted like we have abnormalities and ego and distortions but we also have these thousand year old monsters that have barely been talked about until the last event and one is a part of the company i guess?? like idk i guess well see about where this goes in c7 but so far it just seems like a very strange way to adapt the novel making don some meat puppet for an evil all powerful being. but like i guess we will see when everything comes out

I'm glad I'm not alone in this like there was a moment of hype and then deep confusion for me as I played. at first I thought her determination to protect the innocents and kill cassetti was going to be an ego manifestation adjacent thing (like how at the end of cantos the sinner normally does a cool ego attack on the big bad) and i was excited for that and then boom. bloodfiend. I have started DD which i know mentions it but the fact its a discontinued series that they're planning to make into a game (or something?) later lulled me into a sense that nothing monumentally important would be required reading there. and LoR i know also mentions them but i got stuck at SotC1 for months and so I haven't even gotten to that lore drop yet </3

anyways i dont think it's bad to bring back in worldbuilding from the past series or anything, but i know they're well aware LC is an introduction to their world for a lot of people. i wish sinkle or rodya had brought it up when they were talking about sweepers last canto, would've felt really natural there... I dunno it feels really unearned and strange. For it being the twist of one of the main characters I think LC should have introduced the concept at some point beforehand in game.

I won't be shocked if c7 is good and they pull it off, I'm just not very excited. I do want murder vampire clown IDs though if they give us random fixers instead of fun carnival stuff I'm going to be so sad. sighs. maybe we'll get split vampire hunters/vampires for the IDs? but I need that carnival theme to pay off its all I have left to cling on to rn

do you ever think about a potential ending where lu guang is dead and cheng xiaoshi goes through all the photos they have together just to feel like he's not gone. to spend just a few more moments together. but each photo can only be entered once and eventually there's none left and he has to accept that lu guang is Gone.

or what if they never had any photos together. what if that was an unspoken rule between them. so when lu guang is gone cheng xiaoshi can do nothing.

and they had bunkbeds. it's always strange losing someone when you're so used to having them sleeping in the same room as you. everything feels quiet. too empty. too big of a space for just cheng xiaoshi and qiao ling.

thats like. chefs kiss angst level. cause I think cxs would obviously try to preserve the memories that he has and gain more in the remaining ones, if any, that he has. that kind of ties to a paradox theory—what if cheng xiaoshi took photos in the photo and then preserved them? and then jumped back in time [in a photo in a photo]—would that work? I keep thinking about that one lc comic I saw a while ago that begins with shiguang having a normal day, and lg is oblivious to the odd way cxs is acting.. and his golden eyes. yet he's not really There he's only catching glimpses of his memory and even that is a ticking clock. I think he'd be gripped by that fear and desperation, knowing that he's selfishly using up whatever he has left just for one more moment of peace? calmness? normalcy? with the one that he feels connected to. but I think it'd be character of cheng xiaoshi to fight with whatever he has, tooth and nail, whatever it takes to bring lu guang back to him. disregard lg's rules because he just cannot accept that he's beyong the realm of saving.

I think they would have a few photos since cheng xiaoshi has (canonically? atleast in the shorts... but that's not exactly canon) taken photos of lg before but. I like the way you think. imagining cxs absolutely hopeless., knowing that nothing he can do in the present world can change the fate of lu guang's death. ough. because it's always worst when theres nothing to do. there's nothing more hopeless than knowing a definite fact and having the knowledge that there was AND IS nothing that could alter it. maybe he could convince himself that "it's for the better" if he acted (no matter how rashly) on the small glimmer of hope to restoring lu guang, to restore his memory, to restore the person that he knew. maybe, he could tell himself enough times that lu guang isn't completely gone, there was still some way to capture the "lu guang" he knew, and then do something about it. but all he can do it to settle with his own futile memories , that crack as time goes on.

your last line holy shit that was poetic as hell. thinking about that... how cheng xiaoshi would need to get himself used to the way that it used to be Before Lu Guang. and finding himself absolutely unused to dealing with a silence beside him. because there's a blankness where the 'silence' used to be, you know? it might've been fine with ql in the past, but then again, there's something missing that even his childhood friend can't fill.

Hello, love your work! I've been entertaining the idea of a Regis (Regina if you're going the female route) who gets kidnapped at a young age au. Young enough that months or even years of torture and experiments cause him/her to forget pieces of his old life, including his old name, but not young enough to where he/she doesn't recognize that this is horrible and he/she needs to escape. Eventually, they escaped and have been surviving in the wild for a good amount of time until a couple of Galahdians find them. The scientists called them Subject IM-13, they call themself Matdas. They are 17 or 18 years old when the Wall gets pulled back.

(I keep switching between male and female Regis in regards to this au for whatever reason, nonbinary Regis is up in the air right now, so they/them until I can make a decision.)

Sorry if this gave you a new AU, I just wanted to talk about my idea with someone I know will at least give me a sentence in regards to it instead of me just screaming to the void on my blog and not get a response. Hi! Hmmmmm, that is a very interesting idea. Fem Regis is always fun, especially when there's angst involved. Some fun things that jumped out at me for this would be-

-Regis/Regina somehow meeting Cor, likely because the feral child ran off to go fight Gilgamesh and had no one to stop him because Mors™. Cor ending up being the first of Regis/Regina's retinue because Feral Experiment and Feral Street Child end up vibing fairly well together.

-If Regis/Regina was taken at a young age, it is very likely that Mors went and did his "kingly duty" and had another child as heir once a few years had passed and his first was considered "dead". So you could design a cool sibling for poor Regis/Regina to meet later somehow! :D

-Regis/Regina probably uses magic very oddly, as they never got the chance to learn it the traditional way? Armiger is instinctive, as is elemency, but the application is probably odd to normal LC sensibilities and they very well might think up new spells to help them survive.

-While obviously Ulric is a popular choice for what Clan finds and adopts them, you could go with any Clan really. Furia, Arra, Bellum... XD lots of potential shenanigans and chaos.

This didn't inspire a new AU in me (for now anyway), but it really is a cool idea!

where do u order ur comics from? im just getting into comics but i dont have a shop anywhere near me and im not sure where to start looking

i normally buy in person (but only pick my pull up every few weeks, because the closest store to me is a 30 min drive), but when I buy online, i normally go through midtown comics! there are other online stores that are solid: i have to rec golden apple because they stock everything and were so consistently good & kind to me when they were my LCS while living in los angeles, and i know things from another world, new kadia, and mycomicshop are all solid. if anyone has any recommendations for other online stores, i’d be very appreciative if you name them in the replies so others can see!

big name stores like midtown or golden apple will also have store exclusive variants, if that is something you are into collecting, and also tend to have a wider catalogue of back issues. new kadia and my comic shop are also really good with back issues. midtown does a lot of good sales, and that’s something to look out for, since comics are not a cheap hobby. but honestly the big thing to look for is shipping costs, because different online stores will hit with you with different shipping fees based on where in the country you live. so like, i got Everything from golden apple when i was in LA, but it costs more to get something shipped to ohio from LA than from NYC, so i now buy online from midtown. because i live in the US and have never bought comics while living outside of the US, all of my suggestions are geared towards americans, as that’s my experience. but anywhere in the world, comixology is an option for digital comics, or you can often buy digital or print issues directly from a publisher’s website.

Love Choice Review

Okay so I had no idea Masquerade Kiss would be Love Choice, but this title has managed to tempt me into reading it anyway. I can’t say I’m happy about it but there are a lot of things I have to say, since the whole Love Choice (LC) system has been controversial, or just incredibly detested/undesired, ever since its conception. And it does suck since I’ve been wanting Voltage to release more mature titles (and the whole female spy thing was just a plus, I guess). Voltage did a really good job of hyping up this release and I love/hate them for it lmao. But yeah here are my two cents on the LC feature. Sorry for the longass rant in advance. If you only care about my opinion regarding Masquerade Kiss and Kazuomi Shido’s route then you can check out my review later on my blog (if and when I get to it). But I still mention the title here and there in this review since it is the first LC main story that was released.

For most people who have been with Voltage for a long time, LC is probably one of the worst things on the planet, right after the Love 365 app debacle which caused many to lose their stories if they weren’t aware of the transfer dates or not able to transfer their data (technically they’re losing the right/license to access those stories, cause they don’t own them) and all the other customer service horror stories you can think of. Generally, for people who think that converting coins into hearts and not being able to read the story however they want are terrible ideas, they will outright avoid LC titles/stories. Since LC is F2P, it isn’t much different from the other otome/visual novels that have premium options where people have the option to spend money.

Plus they don’t even give you the option to buy routes anymore, which is why we should be thankful that Voltage Inc hasn’t done that with their Japanese apps yet. I just want to make the best of what we are given (and hopefully try to get a little enjoyment out of it), even if LC is terribly implemented.

So just hear me out for a second. A very long second.

If you’re not one of those people who need every single CG and ending AND don’t mind the wait, this post is mainly for you.

PLEASE JUST READ THE DAMN STORY. LIKE READ MASQUERADE KISS RIGHT NOW WHILE THERE IS NO WAIT TIME (until 2/17). It costs you nothing and you will still get a pretty complete experience.  Don’t be stupid and believe that you’re missing out if you don’t get the CG’s. Go look the CG’s up online or something if you have to because I’m sure someone has posted them regardless of whether it’s allowed or not. It has a decent plot that doesn’t make me want to ram my head into a wall from secondhand embarrassment. Sure there are aspects of it that weren’t written well (will be explained in my review later) but it’s still a good story and I don’t regret reading it. It would be a shame to miss out just because you’re too busy hating on the system. If you don’t want to spend your free hearts (or don’t have enough) on CG’s that cost you 20-30 hearts and options that require hearts, just use it towards reading the next couple episodes (for when they go back to subjecting you to wait times). At least you still won’t be using as many hearts. Yeah the CG’s and love choices are hella expensive and they shouldn’t be. It might even feel like you’re being punished for not choosing those choices because in the end you won’t be getting the happy ending. But they’re not NECESSARY. However, if you still want the CG’s/happy endings, just reread it again later when you get enough hearts. I don’t know, that’s not a priority for me so I can wait on unlocking those CG’s. 

From Episode 1 up to the second to last episode, you’re getting the same. exact. content. Let me repeat that. YOU GET THE SAME EXACT CONTENT. The only thing is that you won’t get all of the CG’s or the super happy ending, which are what people are really paying for. Is it really worth it??? Voltage apps don’t have bad endings. They’re either the romantic/passionate alternate endings or it’s happy(or normal)/super happy endings. No endings where it’s game over, you’re dead or oops you screwed up this entire thing. You’re essentially getting the same ending, just a slightly different view of the events. Just more vanilla, if you don’t get the “better” ending. Slightly fewer lines of text, less description. Big whoop. That and well, you don’t get the CG. Too bad. No personal bragging rights for me to put on my metaphorical trophy pedestal. For me, reading the visual novel is the main goal. The art and CG’s are just a plus, a very much appreciate plus. I would care more about the plot because if you are reading a terribly written story, what’s the point in having good art anyways? You look at it for a bit and just move on to something else that isn’t a waste of time.  

And like....come on. If you hate the LC feature, that’s all the more the reason why you should try it. It won’t even hurt you to read the story if you’re adamant on not spending money/converting coins. Even if it’s terribly written, you didn’t pay for it like you would have with a P2P story. No monetary loss there, just lost time and feelings of disappointment. And if you hate waiting or think LC is a waste of time, just think of reading an episode whenever you have time. You don’t have to commit to it. You could speed read an episode in a minute or two and then go on doing whatever else you want to do with your day. It shouldn’t take up that much of your time. And if you forget to, it’s fine. Not something you’ll be too invested in.

They’re not charging you for anything, so suck it up. I’m sure you have other things you can do in the meantime while you wait for the next episode. Your life doesn’t revolve around otome games (unless you’re adopting an unhealthy lifestyle in which case you have more things to be concerned about). Don’t be a whiny bitch about it. And that’s why the hearts system exists... for the impatient people. They WANT you to spend money on their products, since that’s the whole point of running a business. Yes you’re paying for a one-time access when you’re using hearts to read episodes. Yes you have to start over if you want to reread a specific episode. Ultimately it’s up to YOU to choose whether you want to spend money or not for LC stories, but you don’t HAVE to.

Again, I’m emphasizing the word ‘time’ because if you really don’t have time, then seriously just do whatever you’re supposed to be doing jesus christ. Don’t feel like I’m calling you out for not wanting to read LC stories because you don’t have time to wait around for it. I’m not telling you to prioritize LC over Voltage’s other stuff. Just give it a chance if you can afford to do so, because money isn’t the issue here if you can read the story for free. I know people look towards Voltage apps as a way to relax and so that I understand that reading a LC novel would not be a choice if you have limited time. Because why go for LC if you have perfectly good apps that you’ve already paid for and can read whenever you want? I understand. I really do.

In regards to people complaining about Masquerade Kiss being a LC novel, I have a couple things I want to say. Voltage has the right to choose whichever title they want to be LC. Besides, what criteria do you expect them to use in choosing which titles should be LC? It’s not as if they’ll be like “oh let’s choose an okay title to be Love Choice”, just to make customers glad that they don’t have to waste money. That’s not practical. And ideally they wouldn’t want to be writing shitty stories anyway. They need to make money off them or else it’s a waste of all the money and time they invested into producing the title. For the most part, all the newer titles have been decent, if not good. There will be people who love them and people who hate them. So how would you decide the best choice to be LC among all the good titles? And it wouldn’t make sense to make a title both LC and P2P because that would be when people will REALLY start to hate LC, especially when you have to fork out a ridiculous amount of hearts for the CG’s.  Then there will be even more customer complaints yay. Also, if they made it P2P how many coins would they even charge for the whole route, considering how many hearts they have to spend for the CG’s? The CG’s are “free” only if you have enough hearts for those in-game choices that you want to choose, but if you’re paying for them that would mean it’s like $2-$3 per CG. 

Since they announced this feature, it’s here to stay unless they decide to get rid of it (which I doubt). YOU DON’T GET A SAY IN IT. Their company, their products, their choices. They will make whatever choices in which they benefit the most from. Sometimes those choices will align with what customers want. Sometimes they won’t. You don’t like it then you leave. That’s what most people would do anyway. Even if you do leave, there will always be more people getting sucked into the Voltage trap anyways. If you don’t, then you will continue to rot in the sin bin that is Voltage and there goes your money. Sadly, that’s how the world works.
