Is this an answer to this post I reblogged 2 days ago where an asexual person who struggled accepting that they are allowed to not have to force themselves to have sex was relieved to finally accept that they are, in fact, allowed to choose what happens to their body? If that is the case, the post doesn't say that that sentence doesn't apply to other people (think for the example, if I say "I ate cereal this morning", it doesn't mean that I'm saying I am the only person in the world to whom the sentence "ate cereal this morning" applies to). In that post, it's just directed to a specific demographic who suffers a lot of social pressure due to being out of our society's norm and who, for this reason of being outside of the norm, usually do not know that they're allowed to choose to not have sex. It is something that I think every asexual person struggles a lot with and definitely something I wish I had known when I was a teenager, so I hope it can reach other people who need to hear it too. I think it might be difficult to imagine if you haven't personally been in that position, but it's extremely distressing to believe that it's something you will have to go through sooner or later and that you have no choice.

I'll give you an example from my life because I think this might help you understand that sentiment shared by OP. When I was 13-14, I contemplated spending the rest of my life pretending I'm a Christian (I'm not, my family is not, and I definitely didn't know enough about Christianity to pull that off lol) because to my knowledge Christian extremists were the only people (present in my country, at least, but tbf I've never met one anyway) who I knew were allowed to not have sex until they're married. Even that worried me a lot because there still could not be any escape from wedding night, and it would not be fair to lie about my beliefs and personality to my partner, and also I would be frustrated to have to keep the facade of being someone I'm not and not being able to voice my beliefs. I worried so much about it and I tried to think of any possible option to be out of that obligation, but I could never find any that didn't include leaving myself partially parallitic with some "accident" that might have accidentally killed me. In the end, I decided the only possibility I had was to never date anyone and that I'd have to see how that life is possible 🤷. The idea that I could choose not to have sex never once crossed my mind. The most I could find were short-term excuses (like pretending I've converted to an extremist form of Christianity and that for this reason I couldn't do it until marriage and then procrastinating getting married), but even then it was only delaying. This is what it's like to grow up in this society as an asexual person, so yes you need to be told specifically that you too can choose what to do with your body. Otherwise, if you're not told specifically, you'd think that yes everyone has the right to choose what to do with their bodies except for you because that sentence only applies to normal people and you're not, or that sentence applies to choosing with whom and when but that you must choose among the options and not knowing that "no, never, nobody" is an option. That's why OP says it was a relief to them to understand that they "do not have to compromise on this boundary. Not now, not later, not ever."

I hope you understand it better now, to compare the post to something you might be more familiar with, it's like if you see a post about police brutality against Black people, it doesn't mean the police aren't violent to anyone else, but it's an issue that affects in a specific way or specific degree that demographic that the post is about to the point that it's convenient to focus on it.

how do i use the cursors?

I'm not sure if you mean like for a webpage or for PC usage, so I'll detail both! For HTML/Webpage usage:

1: Grab image, open it in a new tab. 2. Copy url link 3. In the CSS of whatever you're doing, webpage or tumblr theme or whatever, put the following: body, *, a, a:hover { cursor:url( IMAGE URL HERE ), auto; } [ I could've sworn there was a way to do it in HTML, but I'm blanking; But this is specifically for the CSS]

PC: I work on a Windows PC, so this is based on that!! I'm sure specifically for a MAC you can find a tutorial [Sorry about that ;;w;; ;; ] 1. Save the image you want to use 2. Right now I don't have my cursors all with a converted version, but you can manually convert with Convertio; I've used it in the past for .icos and videos and it should still be fine to use. In the dropdown, go to Images > Cur and convert. Save it.

2. Go into Settings, then type in "Mouse" / go to "Mouse settings"

3. Go to "Additional mouse settings" and a small popup should come up. Go to the "Pointers" tab there 4. Double-click on the normal select, and it'll pop up a file browser. Navigate to the download and click on it

5. Hit apply and it should all be good! [And if you want to change it back to default, just hit use default and apply again!]

Wait okay I need someone with more fluency in Japanese than me to weigh in on what I'm seeing here:

This is a word from a speech bubble on the lady Archiviste page of the VnC 58 teaser. The kanji there is the word "story," but the furigana spells out "world." It reads to me like she's simultaneously saying something like "the stories we've seen" and "the worlds we've seen."

Am I reading this right? Is there, like, cultural and linguistic context for this that I'm missing? Is this a pre-existing play on words? Or am I right that this is kind of implying that the speaker is equates the ideas of "story" and "world?"

Every time I see a post making fun of people being afraid to get into comics I think about how when I was first getting into comics I thought it would be fun to read Infinite Crisis because it was a HUGE event and it would give me an idea of what a whole slew of runs and characters were like. I made a post about some panel pretty early into the event (I think it was a build up comic that wasn't even officially part of the Road To Infinite Crisis so EARLY early) and some blog I didn't know made fun of me for not knowing the greater context of the panel I was commenting on. And while I was naively typing up a quick little 'ah sorry I'm new to comics and didn't know that. Thanks for the context!' they had gone through my blog and started doing the same for a bunch of other comics I'd read, and then mocked me for reading IC when I clearly new so little about comics.

Now, obviously, that behavior is ridiculous, and I just blocked them, but it did stick with me. It was one of my earliest interactions with comic fandom and I never forgot it. Most of the people I've intereacted with have been lovely. Even when I have gotten comic cannon wrong corrections are normally very kind. But not all of them are, and the ones who aren't are so vocal about it.

So i actually don't think it's the comics themselves that make getting into comics an unappealing prospect.

weird question but is there a forensic science side of tumblr? and if so when do the police move bodies from active crime scene investigations?

I don't want to be weird but I just need to know.

For context: The bodies would be dead, some kinda brutalised to the point that moving them would be a hassle. We're also talking about a few corpses (in general, not only brutalised) like 6-8 or so, so it would be a large investigation.

The location of the crime scene would be a public location that is cornered off from the public so there would be some pressure to do the investigation quickly so cleaners/repairers can swoop in and get the place functioning again. The bodies are not caused by a bomb.

But when the Sun was out I couldn't see that. The stars are static. We have robots looking out for them and the data says they never change.

Hey, where did you find a music maker (sorry I really don't know what else to call it) that has a moog and theremin?

I've been looking to make music like that for awhile but can't find one that doesn't cost an exorbitant amount of money, haha

the digital audio workshop (DAW) i use is logic, which is. unfortunately very expensive.. i received it from my highschool music teacher through (cough) unsavory means. it doesn't actually have a moog or theremin preset, i got those sounds by manipulating a synthesizer! so what youre looking for is a DAW with a malleable synth

i'd recommend checking out ableton lite! it's free & i believe it has some synth patches in there that you can play around with to get the kind of sound youre looking for :D
