Reverse Big Bang posting time is here! I’m super excited to share my piece for the @mdzsrbb featuring Lan Wangji as Mew Sandalwood and Wei Wuxian as the mysterious Red Knight. Many thanks to @schwamb for writing this incredibly niche, insanely delightful Tokyo Mew Mew fusion featuring teenaged Wangxian, aliens, and frilly costumes!

Song Zichen stands on a small, residential path in Cloud Recesses. The sunlight glints off of the crossed swords he wears, and Lan Xichen’s heart pangs with sympathetic grief. When their eyes meet across the bursting pink garden, the man’s expressionless face still somehow conveys concern. --- Lan Xichen is still in seclusion when he begins an unlikely friendship with Song Lan and the teenaged ghost who walks beside him.

Reverse Big Bang Day #3 - Sworn Sisters

For the last of my 3 artworks for the Reverse Big Bang, I went with my favourite female character - Yu Ziyuan - and the lovely Madam Jin. I left the interpretation open for the author who claimed it whether to make it platonic or romantic.

The accompanying fic is "Then Maybe I'd Make It Alive" by Tavina - it's a wonderful fic and exploration of Yu Ziyuan's and Madam Jin's lives before canon, with some Zhao Zhuliu added in. Please go give them some love!

Springing from the riverbank, Wei Wuxian tackles the farmer, who makes a small, startled sound as Wei Wuxian knocks him toward the water. The small meal goes flying into the grasses as the farmer falls.

The man’s legs catch on the dock, and Wei Wuxian pins him down in the shallows as the drizzle condenses into proper rainfall.

“Jiaoren,” the man breathes, his voice soft and his golden eyes wide. Those strange eyes dart over Wei Wuxian’s sharp ears and nails before lingering on the bloody red of his tail.

“Human,” Wei Wuxian sneers. “You should have fled when you had the chance.”

It is one of the reasons why she has been avoiding opening her eyes until now, allowing herself to stay in that comforting nothingness that Wen Qing’s tranquilizing powder had provided. A still quiet dark space where she doesn’t have to face the fact that A-Xian had deliberately deceived her and A-Cheng had willingly helped carry her into this carriage, to see that they had chosen to send her away, even though they were all she had left.. the darkness tugs at her, pulling her deeper into the depths where her mind was quieter in its grief. “A-Li. Listen carefully and no one dies.”

The first of my art contributions for the 2023 MDZS Reverse Big Bang! @mdzsrbb I've always wondered what the Yanli + Song Lan Lanling Roadtrip might have looked like, and kaminikaku brought a lovely story to life!

My second art piece to post, but the first one I actually completed for the event. Sadly there is no accompanying fic, but I still wanted to share my work.

"He pulled the door open smoothly, leaving the noisemaker with their fist still raised mid-knock.  He could glimpse white robes underneath a thick and practical-looking travel cloak, but surely no member of his sect would think to barge in upon him in such a way.

“Hello!” the interloper exclaimed, a bright smile coming into view as he lifted the sopping veils away to one side. “Would you happen to know how to reach the Cloud Recesses?”

Or, a teenage Wei Wuxian arrives at the Lan sect as a (mostly) respected disciple of the Immortal Baoshan Sanren instead of the well-known troublemaker of Yunmeng Jiang. Lan Wangji learns to come to terms with this (eventually)."
