How I promise the other day I have a little special proiect start. I just recently got back in making my one nails ( because I fell like I could not find a good nail artist în my town so I just made it myself) I know the basic of nail art and I used to do it but i stop do to the known phrase "I don’t have time ". But a new year new me tipe of energy I end up here and just recently I start learning to draw on procreate (I am new to this so if my draws are the qualiti of a child bear with me I am stil learning).

And in that maner I made this sketch about Jin siblings (all four ) and Xue Yang that portret them in my royal au. I let all of you to guess which siblings is on which nail. And I will do for more of the characters or pers nail design all of you would like.

I put the better ones first and the worst ones later. still read the author notes and everything but I genuinely think these are good quality besides their issues. most of the author issues here are also less serious than they were in the previous section

summary: a modern AU work exploring mortality and grief, set in NYC. wwx is a mortician and lwj is a lawyer advocating for trafficked women and undocumented immigrants, like his late mother was. this was a realistic and compassionate look at death from both a professional and personal standpoint in ways that I found very cathartic and personally meaningful. the way lwj’s mother was discussed made me really emotional and his arc regarding her came full circle so beautifully towards the end. and a-yuan was REALLY cute, I think they captured him so well. it has a hopeful finale, but it really puts you through the ringer. it did get a little corny towards the end tho. either canon but more novel in the sex scenes check author notes for warnings pertaining to death and grieving, child death, domestic violence, family death, femicide (though not named as such), and suicide some of the sex scenes are really hardcore bdsm so just keep that in mind but everything is clearly consensual and safe work issues: this work is in this section because one of the sex scenes incorporates cnc but it’s like two lines, and like I said above it’s all clearly consensual author issues: has written genderbends

summary: in this modern british AU, lwj (poetry translator) and wwx (artist) move in with lwj’s aging mother (a poet in exile from china) after she has a fall. the tenderness and heart and romance of this was so beautiful, especially with how it tied into wwx’s art pieces subtle references to domestic violence/abuse re: mama lan situation. nothing is gratuitous or even spelled out explicitly work issues: there was a short scene of (consensual-after-the-fact) somnophilia and some…weird things in some of the sex scenes. the bdsm was written better than in most fics, and I did like that they focused more on trust, but some of them still skeeved me out lxc is with jgy in this, and he does not turn out to be evil or betray him or anything and it ends with 3zun so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ also when wwx proposed to lwj he went down on both knees because he’s a sub 😭 aneeway author issues: has written cnc, dubcon, genderbends, omegaverse and 3zun

*The Shape of Your Love (is Horny) by Vamillepudding

summary: demon influencer wwx meets and then tries to romance a mortal lwj without knowing much about how humans work, despite having lived on earth for years and watching a lot of demon porn about humans. just really silly and off the wall. they nail lwj being a weirdo and this makes him really compatible with non-human wwx. the way they had instant chemistry and fell right into a relationship was so low-drama and sweet. based on the title you’d think there are weird sex things going on but it’s actually rated just T. nhs is great and there’s a ton of really funny lan family moments and jc stuff too. an extremely good comedic work work issues: unfortunately the other main couple is jgy/lxc author issues: see above - xiyao

summary: loose retelling of mdzs, with a very different social setting in which individuals known as kunze, who can bear children, are an underclass treated essentially as sex slaves confined indoors and isolated until they are sold to marry either a zhongyong or a qianyuan. wwx is a kunze, but was granted the rare privilege of growing up as a jiang disciple and cultivator by jfm. he faces the violence and bigotry of the greater cultivation world towards him and his people as he grows into an adult, joins the sunshot campaign, and becomes the yiling patriarch this is a use of omegaverse (using chinese terminology rather than english ones) to specifically explore sexual abuse, trauma, and gendered oppression within the setting. themes and characters still shine through the different context - I really love this wwx and lwj, and their relationship is both lovely and really compellingly developed. most characters, and the story as a whole, are a little different due to this new context. mostly in ways that make sense and feel satisfying - everyone is internally consistent and emotionally comprehensible. wwx is one of the main povs, but jyl, jc, lwj, lsz, jzx, and lxc all get povs as well, giving the entire fic a well-lived in feel full of realism and well-developed personalities. it’s honestly rather kind to jc all things considered and gives jyl and lsz a great deal of complexity. and more characters survive than in canon, too. considering the subject matter this is a hard read, but it explores these topics thoroughly and (mostly) in respectful and interesting ways. and it delivers some of the most joyful and triumphant late-stage scenes in anything I’ve ever read, proving more hopeful than even many AUs in which all this didn't happen. so I feel that it’s absolutely worth it definitely don’t take the tws lightly - sexual abuse, sex slavery, and gendered oppression is a huge theme. there’s no explicit scenes of sexual assault, but it does happen to multiple characters including wwx and is referenced frequently, and emotional and physical impacts of trauma are present longterm. a very unwanted pregnancy and an unwanted child are prominent presences throughout some of the flashback. a suicide happens onscreen as well. this is one of the rape recovery works that takes it very seriously and that deals directly with the trauma of both interpersonal violence and social oppression don’t be worried about the wangxian - there’s no attempt to follow the novel canon dynamics for them, and none of the violence wwx experiences is from lwj. overall its a emotional and gripping read that approaches omegaverse in the only way it really should be approached, and grapples with themes of bodily autonomy and sexual violence in ways that were sorely lacking from the original novel canon some slight grammar mistakes but overall very well-written. primarily novel-based with some scenes from cql incorporated, but the characterizations are so dependent on the setting I wouldn't call them extremely faithful. wwx is much quieter and grimmer as an adult, and lwj is much more careful about his power. jc's relationship to wwx is quite different due to their changes in status but he's certainly not a murderer of innocents, and jyl wields zidian work issues: as stated, I think it's a fairly responsible and interesting use of omegaverse, but it still IS omegaverse, and doesn't entirely shed the bioessentialism of the setting's assumptions. xue yang/xxc is present in the fic in ways I really don't like and find deeply ooc to xxc also, mianmian appears only like twice but they made her support slavery :/ otherwise...I mean it's a pretty good work, the author is very careful and compassionate about the systems of power they portray and the discussion around gender is fairly insightful. oh, jl has a crush on ljy too author issues: gender bends. lmao

*happy not knowing by plonk

summary: this bold author dared to ask the question: what if lxc was incredibly stupid? what if he didn’t realize his brother was gay? what if he was offensively, hilariously, absurdly oblivious to the fact that wwx and lwj were together in a romantic and sexual sense? while they all lived together in CR? for years? the result is a very funny multi-POV tale lasting five+ years that at the end reached heights of heteronormative nonsense so extreme that it was genuinely hurtful. but I love that lxc is the butt of every joke and mocked at every turn, presented as foolishly oblivious while everyone else knows the truth. I adore qin su in this, and the rest of the story actually goes quite well for everyone compared to canon, so it’s a lot more lighthearted wq and jc is a background pair (that lxc is equally oblivious to), but they showed up only once or twice and jc doesn’t abandon her clan to death in this AU so I don’t mind as much if lxc’s inability to see wx’s relationship as romantic is upsetting instead of humorous to you, this may be a fic to skip. the other characters do see and support wx even when lxc doesn’t work issues: although not treated as important, the line that established wx were sleeping together stated that their first time was when wwx was drunk. wwx refers to himself once as a wife. there’s a scene of somnophilia (sort of?), which I found very uncomfortable even if it was consensual. it also leans into wx having loud and aggressive sex everywhere in CR, and it’s implied they have sex outside where juniors saw them so 😬 author issues: has written genderbends and omegaverse

summary: a three-part series focused on lqr, who, postcanon, continues to grapple with his personal history of child sexual abuse at the hands of his older brother. this is an intense work, but not graphic or gratuitous, and it has a hopeful ending. it incorporates an interesting and unique backstory for lqr and madam lan, and the way it handles trauma and evokes emotion is incredibly powerful and cathartic despite lqr’s very bleak and painful history, and lqr shares moments of solidarity with other survivors of sexual abuse. the novel-leaning characterizations were overall quite good work issues: I really liked the first two parts of this series, but the third one disappointed me. lqr stumbles upon a (non-graphic) cnc roleplay scene with wx and, understandably, loses his shit. it’s handled about as well as it could be by the characters, lqr is immediately told that what’s happening in consensual, and once he has a few days to process he’s like ‘yeah that’s your business it’s fine,’ which like. idk it felt shitty to make him see that and then say that. the finale of this series does wrap up the story in a really satisfying way, I just wish the author hasn’t been so faithful to the novel wx dynamics and then go a step further by having their fictional survivor of csa validate rape roleplay too? author issues: cnc

kick at the darkness ‘til it bleeds daylight by AlfAlfAlfAlfAlf, tardigradeschool

summary: *deep breath* canon divergent parent trap AU where a-yuan had a twin brother, and in the confusion of nightless city, wwx and lwj are both injured in ways that lead them to believe the other AND one of the twins is dead. afterwards, they each raise one twin, lwj in CR and wwx as a rogue cultivator hiding his identity, neither realizing the truth. 16 years later, the twins meet on a night hunt, figure out who they are, and switch places to figure out the story and get their parents together. the style for this fic was super fun, and I thought the humor, characterizations, and relationship writing were just excellent. jyl is alive, and lxc plays a much different role in wx’s relationship; the darker elements juxtapose the lighter ones quite nicely. while the relationships between all of the ‘good guys’ lacked the drama and tension of canon, flashback-era wx were just devastatingly romantic and tender, and their post-reunion relationship is very sweet. there’s a surprise f/f ship we see towards the end! the finale gives some quieter characters a chance to shine, though I did find it a bit silly and melodramatic personally there was way too much kid content compared to wx content, but that’s just a preference on my end. if you like the juniors you’ll probably enjoy that part more than I did. just see the notes about it, because… work issues: you know how fucking mad I am that this fic started hinting that jl had a crush on lsz. here they’re closer in age and technically only family friends since wwx isn’t in the picture, but there’s no excuse for ljy to then start crushing on wwx’s kid who switches spots with lsz. like, obvs I still consider it incest but ig in-universe it’s only not incest by the barest of technicalities 🙄 none of the kids actually get together in the fic itself, but it was just SO annoying and gross and then the author had to be like ‘lol they start dating’ in the notes after the last chapter. shut UP! author issues: xiyao, niyao, and 3zun

anyway, for the combination of precision and patience that excellent nail art requires, one man sweeps away the competition and that is lan qiren. he learned when lan xichen was having his seven-year-old fascination with nail polish that wangji naturally had to try, too

10 - Most disliked arc and why?

I'm going to anger my beta-reader Nasha...but I really disliked the Yi city arc, for several reasons (mostly stupid ones one stupid and one more legitimate than the other) The more legitimate one...It felt ouf of the story, like different from the rest (which makes sense since it's a story that MTXT wrote in high school and decided to implement last minute), I didn't like that there was no-prexistence for XY, XXC and SZC before. I did like WWX being a teacher in this and it was fun but that's it. I didn't even really vibe with the romantic couple of the arc (sorry XXC/SZC and XY U-U) I do like XY and A-Qing a lot (and Ouyang Zizhen whom shined in this arc) but huh that's it. It doesn't help that it's a moment of the story I was struggling with the power system and didn't understand much of how WW could do this and that (it was the beginning, so I waited for an explanation that never came, used to the way western books do, which is on me).

The stupid reason is that someone put the kids in danger and nailed dead cats for that. Which automatically make them the ultimate villain for me. You kill cat you're irredeemable in my book *runs away*

25 - How would you end MDZS? Would you change the ending ?

Ah, hard question. I really loved MTXT, I wouldn't change much from it? But at the same time I would changes some things.

Maybe make the theme a little more clearer because obviously some readers didn't get it, but there's always people not reading it like the author intend to. You can't fight that. So yeah...

My author side adores the parallel between LXC and JGY and their parents (the same way LWJ and WWX mirror it) adore the first sentence being "Wei Wuxian is dead hurray!!" and you spend the whole book learning that actually, not hurray at all...And the last line "JGY is dead, hurray!!" (when really not hurray). I think though this would have needed to be more highlighted, by giving more time / more development in the extra. With the cultivation world being in trouble because now they have lost their best administrator, and they have NHS who is not a good plotter or a good administrator either and destroyed everything in his revenge path. I would have more Wangxian getting a bit held responsible for some things because I'm sorry they are not acting to righteous by hiding the truth from LXC and going in their honeymoon phase and abandoning everything else. I do love seeing them happy, and I adored the incense burner extra but huh I feel they replaced important story bit we would have needed xD I would have also loved to see the Lan sect and the Nie sect getting a bit exposed for their hypocrisy (especially the Nie sect and they almost demonic cultivation saber)

But on the other hand I also hate the way MDZS ended with that loop. (I know I'm human, I'm complicated TT) I wanted JGY to get away and survive, because I'm tired of the "commoner who rose to the top and ended up being "corrupted" (aka playing their rules) being punished and proving the point of elite that letting them (commoners) in is actually worse than letting the system as it is" I really really hate that. I would rather have him flee and prosper in another place.

OR BETTER, my ideal ending is JGY ascending. like I said on twitter and then Shiome did an awesome fix-it au art like a week later (satiating my urge to write the au) - linking MDZS and TGCF together by having JGY ascend as a god, paving that once again you don't have to be perfect to be a god (im sorry if you hadn't read tgif, know that every gods in there is guilty of something). I would have loved that type of ending because we avoid the trope and JGY ends up being a bit right and doing the middle finger to everyone (look at Shiome's perfect art!!). and make the overall theme even clearer aka, the problem is the society. think that'd be my ultimate perfect ending for MDZS U-U° (and I could write an happy ending for xiyao, since Wangxian got their, they are fine they don't need extra help).

I'm going to be a little weird again, but as much as I love JC, I would to change anything to his story. Not even Chengxian reconciliation. I do love to reconcile them in my fics, but I do like that in the book they just...Are cordial to each other and not angry anymore but not friend/back to what they used to be. I just find it more realistic. People who's been following me for a long time know I'm picky with redemption arc and forgiveness. Not all characters needs to be forgiven/to forgive, I like diversity and some not forgiving. (I like some never forgetting, forgiving, and live their life without being portrayed as resentful) which I feel is a bit the case for JC. (as much as JC can be at least).

Ummm let’s see. I did a lot of research on the wine for chapter 3; it’s based off of an actual launch Penfolds is doing in China. (Penfolds being the brand that did the event with biblebuild.) they launched a regional specific line in China only and the labels are beautiful.

I’m a big wine drinker myself & live out in a HUGE wine region; it’s one of the places known worldwide in terms of regional wine/growth. I’ve gone to a lot of different wineries and love seeing the artwork and labels and things. Even with how much I love wine I still feel very inept with like, *expensive* wine and tasting notes 😂

Darling domination was partially inspired by “Blood Breath and Bone” by Strats & Bells, (In some ways here and there), and there are a few things in the next few chapters that I’ll be exploring that basically I’ve had brain rot since I read their collab. (Don’t worry I’ve talked to them and got permission 😂).

It was also put into creation by Lin ( @blackwatervial ) who desperately wanted an AU with experienced bdsm Pete showing Vegas the ropes (literally and figuratively.) I’ve talked out much of my plot/outline with her and she’s going to be doing more art for it (specifically something special for chapter 5!!).

I also really wanted to explore a darker side of bdsm in the sense of like, emotions and trauma and how those sorta affect and adapt how vegaspete both relate to sex? it’s not as deep as I’d like to go and have other fics for that but really wanted to highlight in ch 2 both top drop and sub drop. I have a lot of growth for Vegas planned and how he uses kink and domination for his own control and self worth and how that’s tied to his relationship with his father and Kinn and how that relates back to his dynamic with Pete.

There’s also a whole exploration with a bdsm club (& world building for that) that I sorta introduced in ch 3 but will be setting up the bdsm club as a central location in the fic for ch 4; some of which I had written out and outlined for an old fic in mdzs that I never wrote/published.

Identity porn has always been one of my favorite tropes and love exploring it, and haven’t really scene anything for vegaspete so far? Like I’m also feral to write a fic where VP meet in a club and fuck with identity shenanigans (either Vegas doesn’t know who Pete is or they both know and have a secret fuck or whatnot). I’m really excited to sorta build up this tension between Vegaspete before snapping it (as it always happens with identity porn/mistaken identity), and how that works with vegaspete.

I’m not sure if I have anything else to say… as of right now that wouldn’t be a spoiler! I haven’t started ch 4 yet bc I’ve been working on eyes on me ch 11 (which is fighting me tooth and nail) but hopefully will start ch 4 when I’m done with EOM 11!

He swung his legs back and forth as he eyed the beautiful creations on the Youmei app. The app was created by his old friend, Nie Huasang, and if Wei Wuxian were to be honest, it made complete sense given Nie Huasang’s love for art, handicrafts, and everything beautiful. Despite being a new app, it was already very popular and hosted sellers of all kinds who crafted all types of beautiful creations. Wei Wuxian paused his scrolling when he saw a picture of a hand adorned with many gorgeous floral rings. His eyes widened and he gasped softly on seeing the delicate and exquisite rings on each finger. Wei Wuxian clicked into the profile of the seller and sat up, excited, as he saw the gallery filled with similar photos of the person’s creations — dainty floral rings, charming bracelets, and chains draped over the hand from finger to wrist. “Kaihua,” Wei Wuxian said out loud when he clicked on the seller’s profile. “To bloom,” he whispered to himself with a smile. “That’s a pretty name.” The profile didn’t have a lot of information about the seller, just an email address — bichen@cloudrecesses.com — and a simple note that read ‘There is beauty in simplicity.’ But there was a very extensive and detailed description in the policy section which made Wei Wuxian laugh. “Someone’s thorough,” Wei Wuxian chuckled as he scrolled down the seemingly endless policy that covered everything from metrics for product satisfaction to categories for the return policy. Wei Wuxian went back to browsing through the product gallery, sighing at every creation. Each item was a hand accessory. He loved the way the jewelry adored the person’s hands, their long fingers, their elegant wrist, their shapely hand and the curve of their palm. In some photos, the nails were painted to complement the jewelry while in others they were bare, but always neatly trimmed. The designs were also very interesting. They weren’t too busy or complex. They didn’t have too many things going on all at once. Instead, they were just small flowers of all kinds, all recreated very accurately, Wei Wuxian noticed. Usually this time of year I'd put some fireworks on my nails and I've got the stamps for it and everything but I wasn't feeling it at ALL, so since I'm about to start publishing my new MDZS/CQL fic, Pocketful of Soul, within the next couple days, I thought I'd go for some good ol' Yiling Laozu resentful energy nails.

This is hands down one of the MOST creative and inspired and brilliant fan art that's been gifted to the MDZS fandom recently. I just... had to stop and stare and then stare some more. So fucking creative, I'm so inspired by this and THEY NAILED THE WHOLE THING from cover drawing to coloring to the blurb to the inside illustrations and JUST THE WHOLE CONCEPT. THEY COOKED GOURMET THAT DAY.
