A Photo Worth More
by Amelie Fishel
Background: Amelie Fishel is a photographer mostly known for her work in sports. She has photographed in the NHL, NFL, PWHL, MLB, WNBA, the Olympic Games, the World Cup and more. Her photos have appeared in AP, ESPN, Sports Illustrated and The Athletic. Her photo of New Jersey Devils alternate captain Jack Hughes (also her fiance) during the Stanley Cup Final won a World Sports Photography award last week. A member of SMFE for over five years, Amelie has spoken in numerous classrooms and at panels and workshops to share her knowledge. Alongside Jack, she is an ambassador for You Can Play.
When I took a bow at my last dance recital with Michigan Dance Company, I thought I was done with sports.
Don’t get me wrong. Dance had — and still has — brought me so much. It taught me a lot of things about myself, and brought me friends I still talk to today. But after blinking at the stage lights onwe last time to loud cheers from our family, friends and fellow dancers, I knew I made the right decision to stop my decade plus intense training. I would end up dancing recreationally throughout college, but nothing close to what I did at MDC.
During my first week at the University of Michigan, I was timidly walking around the overwhelming Festifall, which happens every year at the school. It’s basically a club fair to showcase everything you can do at Michigan. Whether by happenstance or something else, I locked eyes with Jenny DeAngelo, who is currently the social media coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers. I still remember — she had the cutest bob, a camera around her neck and the friendliest smile.
“Are you interested in working for the Michigan Athletic Department?”
Looking back, vaguest question ever. They could’ve been asking for equipment staff or helpers for ticket sales. But I walked over to Jenny, and that was it.
For my whole four years at Michigan, I photographed almost every sport. Football, swimming, soccer, gymnastics, field hockey, you name it. I gave up a lot of weekends and school nights when I could’ve been out partying (let’s be honest, knowing me, I wouldn’t have been anyways) to stand at the sidelines of a field or court. I always knew I wanted to do photography, but the sports part of it all caught me off guard.
Photographing hockey was almost a different skill set. I never played and didn’t really know anyone who did. But hockey at Michigan is sacred. I felt it the first game I shadowed, with Yost Arena filled up to the brim. I remember panicking because the sport was so fast. How could I ever keep up?
But I’ve never backed down from a challenge.
I started being placed on the hockey beat more and more to the point where the guys started knowing me by name. I found myself at Yost pretty often during the season. And with my love for photographing hockey came my love for the actual game of hockey. Michigan hockey, in a way, was where another very important branch of my root love for photography started. I will always be grateful to Kristy, Maggie, Lauren and all the players and staff I worked with there for the encouragement and setting the expectations astronomically high for how a photographer is part of the team’s DNA.
I’m so grateful that my first gig after graduation was with the NHL. Being trusted to photograph the Philadelphia Flyers, the New Jersey Devils, the New York Islanders and the New York Rangers as an inexperienced but eager 22 year old was such a pleasure. I learned a lot and I still look upon the early years of my career with so many good memories.
Since then, I’ve been lucky to continue doing what I enjoy on stages I could’ve never imagined I would even have a seat at the table at. From the world stage with the Olympic Games and World Cups, to Stanley Cup Finals and Super Bowls, to junior and high school sports Every sport at every level has taught me something new, and I feel so grateful that holding a camera still feels fresh.
I’m extremely honored to receive this award for a photo that personally means so much to me.
When I took that photo of Jack during Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final, I honestly don’t remember what I was thinking. I was a ball of nerves that entire game — that entire post-season, to be honest with you — and I was purely doing everything out of instinct. I was urged multiple times by many people to not do my job. Go be in the crowd and enjoy it as a fan, everyone told me. But I couldn’t. I would’ve rather been working with the safety net of the camera around my neck because that would calm down my nerves. So they let me do it, more for my sake than anything, I think. What I do remember is when the final horn sounded, because everything leading up to that point flashed through my mind like a movie. Like a supercut, as Lorde would say.
An image of when Jack and I first met flashed through my mind all those years ago in Michigan (the state, not the school). An image of the first Devils game I shot flashed through my mind, where he, of course, scored. An image of me crying in a conference room in Madison Square Garden flashed through my mind, when I felt so burnt out and questioned if I wanted to even do this anymore. It wasn't the first time I felt that way, and it certainly wouldn't be the last. An image of Jack coming into my office and waiting for me to finish editing photos flashed through my mind, the quiet hum of The Rock as our soundtrack.
I remember when family and loved ones were shuffling onto the ice and I saw Luke skating up to me, the cup in the back and the biggest smile on his face. All I could think of was him in the Michigan maize skating up to me all the years prior. It felt like the most full circle moment.
Basically, it felt like a movie, where everything that led up to that point came crashing down on me and all I could feel was pure joy and pride.
To me, that’s it. Photographing people is about capturing the pureness of emotions. Joy, sadness, frustration, anguish, confusion. I hate to use a cliche, but it’s true. A snapshot of a moment in time can say so much. That’s what keeps me going. That’s what motivates me to keep trying when the last thing I want to do is click that damn shutter.
Recently, I was asked last minute to shoot a Devils game. It had been over a year since I had done so, so I jumped at the chance. I didn’t realize until I walked into the familiar hallways that it was Hockey Is For Everyone Night. Chris Sccopetto, one of the equipment guys (more commonly known as Frosty) tossed me something when I walked in. I looked down and teared up. It was a roll of rainbow ribbon.
When I covered the NHL on a consistent basis, I would tie a ribbon in my hair, the color matching whatever team I was working for that night. It was a little thing I did just for fun. During the Hockey Is For Everyone nights, I used to always put something rainbow in my hair. I was honored that Frosty remembered.
At that Devils game, I was shooting pre-game warmups, and a young woman was against the glass. After she got a puck from Dougie Hamilton, I went up to her, showing her the picture and asking if she would want a copy. I don’t always do this, but the picture was too good and I felt like she’d appreciate it. Just as I was about to leave, she told me she liked the ribbon in my hair. We got to chatting, and I found out that she had just come out as bisexual to her family, and she had looked forward to being at the game tonight for a long time. I offered her the roll of rainbow ribbon and went on my way, but that interaction will stick with me for awhile. From one bisexual woman to another, we’ve found a common space in a sport we love.
In light of recent events, nights like Hockey Is For Everyone are more important than ever. I have been lucky that my sexuality hasn’t been an issue in any workplace I’ve been a part of, but I know that I am so lucky it hasn’t been. As a photographer, I feel the energy of the fans at every game I shoot. For all fans, staff and players to feel included and to feel like they belong in a world that they love is crucial. It’s how the sport will be sustained. I know how important that feeling of inclusion is. It’s not just rainbow ribbons and tape — it goes beyond. It must go beyond.
Hockey Is For Everyone, and similar events to it, is a start. But that’s just what it is. A start. It’s through actions small and large where the work continues. It’s through just telling someone that you hear them and support them. It’s through donations, no matter how big or small, to organizations that do incredible work. It's through offering a shoulder to cry on and being the loudest to voice support in triumphant moments. Allyship exists in so many forms.
In the corner of the photo that won this award, if you look on the top right, you see a fan waving a rainbow flag, by the way.
I’m so lucky that the passion for my work led me to do what I love alongside the love of my life also doing what he loves. People say working with your significant other isn’t ideal, but now that I don’t do it as much anymore, I can say that I miss it greatly. Jack, you make me laugh and feel so incredibly happy. I love you. All the friends and colleagues I made through my work have been the greatest blessings and deserve all the thanks. My friends outside of work who remind me that life is more than just a camera, you deserve all the gold stars. Thank you. My family - Mom, Dad, Colette, Kaiden, Charlotte and Xander, thank you for all your cheerleading.
But lastly and mostly importantly, thank you to everyone who has let me point a camera at them. The way I’ve been included in vulnerable, intimate and beautiful moments just by simply being there and doing my job — it’s a feeling that never gets old. Thank you for letting me into your life. I look forward to continue doing it with integrity and love for as long as I can.
yours,
amelie fishel

title: a heap of broken images (1/3)
pairing: kim wexler x lalo salamanca
rating: M
summary:
"They told me you're also on the De Guzmán case. There has been an... incident and we need someone from his legal team, pronto."
or
Kim Wexler takes on the Salamanca's case in Jimmy's absence.
"What are the roots that clutch, what branches grow Out of this stony rubbish?" t.s.eliot - the waste land
.
Defeat has an ugly taste.
Smoking doesn’t really help, but Kim lights a cigarette anyway, wary of her fingers, and the slight tremors in them. It’s still hot, hotter than May should be, but she feels strangely cold, as if all the metals from the facility had found a way inside her bones.
She doesn’t want to be in the present or be presentable (not yet), so she calls Jimmy (again), the act more of an instinct than a conscious choice; something to pass the time as she walks back to her car, so tiny. A dot in the death throes of the setting sun.
Jimmy doesn’t pick it up. It’s no surprise: he hasn’t picked up since yesterday morning, since he bid her goodbye in bed and went out to the desert, not to return.
Kim isn’t sure he is alive at all.
The thought almost makes her want to go back to jail, to him, to shake out some answers instead of mockery, but as she blows out the last of her smoke through her nose, she knows it’s pointless. Why give Lalo Salamanca more weapons?
Sensible Kim, her better self, knows all she must do, all she can do right now, is to wait.
But there exists a shadow self, too, in the narrow corridors of her mind, a rotten self, a bitter self. Some might call her ugly and impetuous. But this side of her made her survive, made her thrive for more. And now it is creeping back, this voice, strangely reminiscent of her mother, long dead, whispering.
There is a long beep in the line: a clear sign there is no point in calling now.
Kim lowers her phone, the movement more defeated than before – and having just arrived at her car, sees her reflection, wide-eyed, ageless in the blur of the tilted windows. She feels like she has run a mile and looks as if the heat struck her too suddenly.
You still have weapons, y’know, says this dark and dead voice, this other. Think fast, Mrs. Goodman.
Instead, Kim bites down her tongue and drives home.
All sensible.
All slow.
.
It’s shrill, the ringing that awakes her.   Strangely alert, Kim reaches for her phone on the nightstand, unbothered to even check the calling number, hoping against all odds.
“Jimmy?”
“Kim?” it’s a woman’s voice, nasal, as if she’s been crying. “It’s Laion from County.”
For a ridiculous moment, apparently still half-asleep, Kim thinks Jimmy went straight to work after his desert trip. That somehow he borrowed or bought a suit and whistled his way onto the courthouse, the bail money already deposited, and his work done. And soon, soon he will come home, to bed, to her, smiling with relief.
But then she checks the digital clock on the stand.
It’s six in the morning. The sudden weight on her chest isn’t from the pack she smoked while waiting in the dead of the night.
“What has happened?” she asks. Puts the phone closer to her ear.
“So sorry to bother you so early" Laion mumbles. "We tried reaching Jimmy several times, but he isn't picking up."
Yeah, tell me about it.
"Jimmy got some time off to prepare for his cases" the lie comes out easy. "But if there is anything you'd like me to deliver him..."
"Well" the clerk's voice trails off, then there is the sound of shuffling papers. "You might just do the trick..." then the line gets fuzzy, and the next moment, she can hear Laion much more clearly. She must have put her own phone much closer to her ears too. "Pete told me you're also on the de Guzmán case. There has been an... incident and we need someone from his legal team, pronto."
"Pete?"
"New guard at the MDC."
"What does this have to..." Kim starts, dread forming in her stomach. She would rather never see Jorge de Guzmán again.
"Are you on the case or not?" Shuffling sounds again. "Says here you're on his legal team."
Fuckola, thinks Kim, remembering the form she signed. How careless. Seems like panic bested her, but that was then. What matters is now.  Across the line, someone else is talking in the background.
"Is she coming?" says a voice far away. A man's and it is impatient. "What a goddam-"
She can't catch the rest, because Laion starts to soothe him.
Meanwhile, Kim has started to sweat. If she denies her involvement, she has to explain her visit. If she admits it, then she is in. All in. No return.
Talk about finality.
Come on, she thinks, pushing her nails into the curve of her palms, listening to the sweet nothings of the clerk in the line, in the dull dawn of light. She sees the sun peeking from behind the leaf-patterned curtain. New day, old hopes. Morning found her in bed without proper sleep. Where could it have found Jimmy?
 Time is a-wasting, says her sensible self. Focus.
Once again, there are a mingle of noises, static, then a big gulp of breath.
Laion is back.
"So" her voice sounds urging. Urged. That invisible man - probably her boss or a police officer, may be breathing down her neck. "Are you on the case, or is it just gossip?"
Sometimes the only choices you have are bad ones, she hears Sensible Kim. And you still have to choose.
"I'm on, yes." her voice sounds calm, clipped. Good. "What's this about?
.
Adrenaline has its uses. Kim doesn't have time to think while she gets ready. Shower, makeup, brush of teeth, brush of hair. White shirt, black skirt, hiding most of her. Her owlish face now has a sharp edge: her nerves.
It takes her half an hour to get ready, another to print everything she needs for the meeting, and yet another twenty to get the Detention Center, south of town, bulky and gray: a gravestone on the horizon. She was in such rush yesterday that the similarity escaped her.
"The dead tree gives no shelter" mumbles Kim out loud, out of nowhere, to herself and her car. What is it from? Maybe an old movie they recently saw with Jimmy.
She grips the wheel tighter.
Stop.
After repeating the warning twice more and chiding her breathing to slower pace do her muscles relax. Like her clothing, she has to be black-and-white now, a matter-of-fact, blank professional with an on-and-off switch. And anyways, no space for feelings in legal matters, no space for bravado or jitters. Do the job, and do it right. That's all.
Although she passes several coffee shops, she stops at none of them. Whether it's fear or something unnameable she cannot (dares not) name it, focusing on the task ahead. They hadn't left her (and Jimmy, wherever he is now) many options, so she will have to wing it, as soon as possible. But first and foremost, she thinks with some familiar bitterness, I will have to talk with our client.
The parking lot is practically empty, it's easy to find a spot near the entrance. One last conscious inhale-exhale and then she is already inside, looking for Laion's gossip.
"Miss Wexler?" says a lanky young man who must be Pete. "Miss Delape told me you were coming."
He has kind eyes, this gossipy guard, and an up-turning mouth which Kim is certain that in normal circumstances would melt into a smile.  But this situation is far from normal so both Pete and her remain somber.
"Call me Kim, please." it's impolite, but she wants to get over the hardest part. "Where is he now?"
"This way" Pete points, then shows him the way by walking ahead. "We uhm... decided to shut him in an empty interrogation room until your arrival" then, as he notices Kim's expression, he quickly adds. "Please, it was for his own safety, there were at least two assailants. There might be more."
"Two?" They passed two laughing orderlies with coffees in their hands. "I heard only of one."
She can only see a slice of the guard's face against the familiar green colored walls and surgeon-lit corridors - and his face is colored by contempt.
Now, Kim could have probed then and there, but from experience she knows silence and listening to be a better strategy in the aftermath of shock. This was something her mother never realized. Never practised - even when Kim asked her to.
Pete turns left, then right, and then to a narrow corridor with one sorry-looking, chipped door at its end. He leads her almost till the treshold, but something makes him decide against it: so he stops halfway, just under a cheap-looking corkboard with several flyers on it.
"Look" Pete sighs, clearly debating how much to tell her. "I told Laion only the essentials so that she could get us Goodman."
"Well, he is otherwise busy, so you'll have to contend with me." her voice is even. Calm. She really hopes she can learn something from Pete or else face Salamanca with a handful of nothing. Again. "Look, if you dragged me here, you might else well tell me. I'm not gonna judge. That's not my job."
Come on, come on, she pleads, voiceless.
Puzzled, Pete searches for something in her face, and then apparently finds it, because he looks up at the ceiling as it were the heavens (Bingo, thinks Kim), and then looks her straight in the eyes.
"At two in the morning we got a call from graveyard shift that there is a problem at number twelve." he points at the chipped door, points at the man sitting behind the door. "The cell which de Guzmán and a poor old sod Adamick occupied. Adamick was in for manslaughter, but since he was sixty-something year old, the judge wasn't convinced he actually committed the crime he was charged with."
Kim's brain shuffles through the folders of her memories. What Laion mentioned -
"Your lot told County that it was probably supposed to be an outside job."
"Yeah" Pete leans back to the wall, near a yellow flyer which highlight the local suicide prevention hotline. "But he was in it, it seems. The hit man posed as a cleaner. Blended in easily, knew the shift's routes, and when there was no one else between cells ten and twenty, he let himself in their cell."
"Did de Guzmán tell you that?" asks Kim, feeling her throat dry. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to skip breakfast.
"De Guzmán told us shit" snaps Pete, then lowers his voice into a sharp whispers as he sees an officer walk past. "We can only guess what happened. And let me tell you, it wasn't easy, cause the hit man was already unconscious when we got there, and..."
He falters for a moment. Realized there is no going back. Kim feels the same: as if she stepped into quicksand.
"Adamick?" she presses, fearing the answer. If she had the luxury of not caring, she would turn her head now. But Jimmy awaits, and it's Saul Goodman's name on the line in this corridor, past that room with the ugly old door.
It's Pete's gulp that drags her back.
"Adamick was dead, and the cell covered in blood. And you know who was the only man left mostly untouched?"
Fuck this, thinks Kim, her face showing complete serenity. Attempted assassination is one thing, but surviving said attempted assassination was another. Jorge de Guzmán, upstanding citizen of Albuquerque, loving husband and step-father of two, wouldn't have known how to defend himself.
In fact, he wouldn't have gotten a murderous overnight visit from a hit man to begin with. Fucking shitstorm of a fucking case.
She wants to scream, but opts to clear her throat instead.
"Self-preservation by definition leads to extreme acts. I'm not sure what I would be capable of if someone would attack me with... what did they attack him with?"
"With a shiv" scoffs Pete. "But Miss Wexler, I'm not sure you understand. De Guzmán didn't even bat an eye. He was found casually sitting in a pool of blood that wasn't remotely his."
"Sorry, were you there?"
"No" Pete admits grudgingly.
She folds her arms.
"Then it's but hearsay, wouldn't you agree?" and when she sees Pete open her mouth, she adds. "And if it isn't, then it was probably the shock."
"Whatever you say, counselor" Pete shoots him a strange look before pushing himself from the wall. "We cuffed him just in case, yes - and don't give me that look - for our safety. I will be just outside the door, knock on it three times when you are finished."
"Is this room soundproof?"
"What do you think? It's the same age as Adamick was" Pete says darkly. "Just try talking in a low voice."
Resisting the urge to roll her eyes, Kim braces herself, walks before the room where Jorge de Guzmán waits, and opens the door with a calm that is anything but real.
.
The room is small. Bare, were it not for the metal table and two pairs of chairs facing each other. There is also an odd smell permeating the air. Kim hears the lock behind her click, must be Pete following protocoll, signalling they can start talking.
Speaking of talking.
Her client sits at the far end of the table, looking awfully smug.
"Well, your husband doesn't seem very eager to come home." Lalo Salamanca rasps in a low voice. Kim can see dark bruises having bloomed all around his thick neck. One of the two must have tried to choke him while the other held the knife. "Que cabrón, eh?"
Stops when he notices her staring.
"This?" he points as much as he can with his hands tied. There is a smile in his voice, on his face - all mercury, expressions ever-shifting, ever-moving. Lalo reminds Kim of a viper. "It's nothing. You should see the other guy." his grin widens, deepens. "Bastante feo."
"Which one?" Kim steps closer, further from the door, hands on hips. "The one you put into a coma, or the one you killed?"
Something shifts in the black of his eyes but his shrug is careless.
"They attacked, I defended myself. Survival instinct."
There is no natural light here, in this bland and blank room which feels like a cage; no, is a cage. So why doesn't Lalo look like he is a prisoner? Sitting there, long legs stretched, mouth curled in a bored kind of amusement, eyes so dark, eyes so alive.
All tan and tall - much like the land around the city.
"You look pale, Mrs. Goodman" Lalo says, still low. They must have squeezed his neck quite hard. "You sure you don't want to step out for some fresh air?"
Three heartbeats of a pause.
"And now what?" Kim finally asks, looks at the door and decides to step to the chair next to Salamanca's, instead sitting in front of him. Still, she makes sure to keep their distance at least an arm's lengths. The strange smell is stronger here, in his corner.
Lalo blinks slowly, head in a mock-tilt. Clears his throat.
"Now?"
"Yes. Now that your cellmate is... gone. Now that they will obviously look into your profile, because even the dumbest person in the police force will ask himself: Who the hell is this guy to warrant such attention?"
His fingers tap a messy rhythm, and his calculating eyes follow it; glued to the table where he makes the sound.
"Can they force a retrial?"
"Retr-" Kim wonders how Jimmy could talk with him. "No, but MDC higher ups will certainly want an explanation. Today, I'd wager. Not to mention prosecution will be all over this."
"Prosecution" Lalo scoffs, still at the table. "Bunch of payasos."
"I wouldn't be so sure" Kim says coldly. "If they didn't find your innocent, blue-collar family man act suspicious until now, they will certainly do it as soon as they hear about this little 'self-defense'. "
He finally looks up, face trenched by the shadows of the surgeon-light, myriad of lines crossing his hard face.
"Would you have advised me to die?" he says without the trace of a smile, mocking again. "Have me put down and stay down, Mrs. Goodman?"
Kim's mother would have called him a handsome fella, were it not for that ugliness in his stare. His soul, if Kim or her mother had been sentimental types. But alas.
She finds herself holding his stare: a bottomless pit.
"I wouldn't have advised you anything" says Kim. "Because I'm not your lawyer. Remember?"
Lalo bends closer, confidential.
"Yet here you are." he says, but quickly continues. "So can you make it to that MDC thingy?"
"Are you asking me to?"
There it is. That gleam again in his expression. Kim can see it now, name it now.
Cruelty.
"Do you really have a choice?" Lalo asks, almost softly. "Or does the infamous Mr. Goodman so far away have nothing to lose?"
You sick fuck, Kim wants to say and can feel her usually careful facade slip where it should not. Might be from exhaustion or worrying too much, but she feels her fears fade, and hate taking its place - all that rage spilling out from her eyes. She has to turn her head lest she does something regrettable, like finishing the hit man's job.
When she turns back, she finds Lalo is looking at her, mouth half-open, teeth gleaming, wolf-like.
"Bien, bien" he breathes with something akin to admiration. "We have a fighter here."
Don't you give him the satisfaction, chants Kim to herself. You have seen worse than this. Now get it together.
"If I were to advise you, I'd advise you to be one step ahead" she says collected. Makes no indication of the scene before. "Let's ask for an appointment and say that de Guzman used to be in debt, but is not anymore."
Lalo makes a noncommittal hum which earns him a raised eyebrow from Kim.
"Look, it's either this or... we say they mistook you for someone else. But that is blatantly lazy. Whom else they could have looked for?"
Silence.
She feels her patience thinning.
"Look, if you don't like either of the plans, you are very welcome to-"
"No, it's good." Lalo clasps her hands together, mirth in his eyes. "Well, y'know, as good as it gets."
"Which plan?" asks Kim, confused.
"The first one. The debt one. I can even make a call to make it bulletproof."
"Okay" says Kim not liking this one bit, but gets out two request forms and a pen nevertheless. Amazing how routine overrides annoyance.
"This" she holds up the first form. "Will get you a hearing today before shit hits the fan." She holds up the other. "And this will get you a new cell, hopefully one without a roommate. Check your... whichever personal data you have and then sign here and there."
But it turns out to be difficult, because he is still chained to the table, so Kim - without any enthusiasm - has to stand and then move closer to him so as to place the papers and the pen in his hand.
"Left hand" Lalo singsongs when she places it in his right.
"Right" Kim grits out, tone acidic, and bends to help with the papers.
The smell is almost unbearable here, and then, then, from above, looking down and over him, finally she notices. There are stains on Lalo, dark and dried, metallic.
Blood.
Blood on his pants, and the inner slopes of his veiny arms, and his palms, and under his fingernails.
Blood that is not his.
"Jesus" she says despite herself, stepping back, almost to the corner.
Lalo has the audacity to laugh.
"Mrs. Goodman" he grins so wide his face might tear. "Seems you forgot the most important law there is."
"I have to get some water" Kim says, trying not to run out the room.
But he doesn't stop.
"It's a law as old as humanity. Aren't you interested?"
She is at the door, fists clenched, body alert. Holds up one hand to hammer on the door, a needless act of control.
One.
Two.

July Overview
Monthly Drama Review: July 2018 Jan - Feb - Mar - Apr - May - Jun -
warning spoilers!
Completed:
Lawless Lawyer: The chemistry was beyond great, I could not have asked for a better cast. By the time we got to the last two episodes, I did not even realize it was about to end. It really was great from beginning to the end. Every character got what they deserved in the end.
Secret Mother: This drama really pulled through by the end. While it was boring the first half, all the mystery just made the ending better. I am so glad that Eun Young ended up being alive and Yoon Jin did not betray her. Like Lawless Lawyer, everyone got what they deserved in the end. On a side-note, the three mothers redeeming themselves was a great addition. Usually in kdramas those type of people never change, but it was nice to see them help Eun Young out in the very end.
Miss Hammurabi: Every episode left me as an emotional wreck. Maybe because the show was written by an actual judge that I was able to experience a variety of emotions. This is possibly Go Ara’s best role as her character remains passionate throughout the whole show. Having 3 different judges gave us different perspectives and showed us that not everything is black and white. Overall, a well-rounded series that hit different problems ranging from drug abuse, sexual harassment, and hierarchy in the workforce and society.
The Undateables:  Adding the typical tropes like the bet and the love triangle kind of ruined the drama from what it had in the beginning where Hoon Nam and Jung Eum would work together to solve the undateables love life. Still a very cute drama thanks to the wonderful cast. Joon Soo is the definition of perfection by the way. I’m starting a petition to finally give Tae Joon the main role he deserves. Anyways disregarding all the other unnecessary stuff that happened during the drama, remember no matter age, appearance, and quirky habits you will always be able to find love. <3
What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?: I actually dropped this drama midway but picked it back up because my best friend told me too. Although it does have lots of scenes that I find cringe-worthy, this was still a fun and loving drama. It also got dark too midway, but I love how they were still able to balance the comedy and lightness alongside with their traumatic past. I still can’t get over Lee Min Ki’s and Jung So Min’s cameo appearance. I wish there were more on Ji Ah and Gwi Nam’s relationship they were really cute together too! Nonetheless, a cute drama that kept me laughing and crying.
Age of Youth: I’m starting college soon, so I thought I would finally start this drama. The reason why I avoided this drama was because I do not like Hwayoung. I think what was revealed in 2017 after five years serves as justification as to why lol sips tea. BUT I think this is my favorite drama ever??? It’s just so good and I feel like I can relate to all the girls. It kind of opened my eyes a little bit about everyone’s circumstances. You really learn life lessons when you watch this show.
Ongoing:
Goodbye to Goodbye: I’m kind of wary on Min Soo’s quick character change. Why did it take him so long to show that he actually loved his girlfriend? I don’t really know how this show is going to end, so I’m gonna save my thoughts for next month.
Are You Human Too?: Am I the only one who doesn’t really care about the romance between Kang So Bong and robo Nam Shin. I still can’t really get behind it. He’s a robot and she’s a human, how will the writers logically end this so it doesn’t end up tragically (unless they want it to end like that). I’m more interested on human Nam Shin’s future actions. I don’t really get the people saying they want him dead though. Imagine being taken away from your mom because your dad is dead and being treated like shit for 20 years with only one friend that is siding with a robot now and also finding out that robot was made by your mom to replace you. I’m not excusing his actions of being a total dick mostly to Kang So Bong who has nothing to do with him. But man, I just feel so bad for this kid, he’s being compared to a robot that can never make mistakes. This is quite lengthy, but I’ll add on more for next month’s review.
Your House Helper: I’m so in love with this drama??? It looks so boring on the outside, but it just gets better each episode. They have a wide variety of characters all going through different situations and just creates a connection with the audience
Time: I liked Kim Jung Hyun during School 2017 and loved him in Eulachacha Waikiki but after seeing the press conference and a few interviews I became really really disappointed. However, after seeing the first two episodes I think his character did have a toll on him. Nonetheless he could of been more professional. Anyways, I would have dropped this drama if it wasn’t for Seohyun. Her acting improved so much from when I first saw her in Scarlet Heart <3 I don’t how they’re going to form a romance between the two, I would rather they do not. The drama itself feels like Uncontrollably Fond except with murder.
Your Honor: I don’t really have much to say about this yet, but I’m really excited on how this show will turn out.
Kimi ga Kokoro ni Sumishita: I actually started this literally right now, but I think I can relate to the main character in some aspect. Also, the psychological part has me hooked.
Dropping:
Wok of Love: Yeah I was really close to finishing it, I know but I already have too much dramas on my plate and it’s not as interesting as the other ones I’m watching. The chemistry between the main leads are just meh. The revenge plot isn’t that gripping either.
Hana Nochi Hare: I ended up rewatching Hana Yori Dango with Matsu Jun, so I’m not that interested in this one anymore. I even tried watching Meteor Garden, but my mind just keeps floating back to the Japanese version whoops.
Risky Romance: I want to watch this, but I already have a lot of stuff on my plate. I’ll save it for later ):
30 But 17: ^
Let Me Introduce Her: ^^
Mr. Sunshine: Wasn’t interested in this drama in the first place
Upcoming:
The Ghost Detective: A spooky drama with Park Eun Bin yeet.
Familiar Wife: I don’t know why but I got Go Back Couple feels while watching the teasers (which is a great drama that everyone should watch!). Definitely watching this one.
Lovely Horribly: Rom-com horror, an interesting drama I bet.
Someday Until This Rain Stops: J-dramas usually take a longer time getting subbed, but I’m definitely going to try and watch this one.
Hide & Seek: Probably not going to watch. The synopsis is really lacking to me.
I’m starting school next month and I really want to do well this year so I’m probably gonna cut down my drama watching and my activity on tumblr in general.

Day 3 - Original
So...About That Jacket...
MASTERLIST | PREVIOUS | NEXT
Marinette was going to kill him. She was going to murder Adrien "Radiant Carefree Dreamy" Agreste. Say goodbye, world, to the blond sunshine. He was not long for this world, and it was inevitable for it to be shortened because of his actions. She could handle the drama. She could handle the daddy and mommy issues. She could even handle the goddamn leather cat suit.
But this? This was where she drew the line.
"What," she growled, pinning her brother down with her glare and the mop she found in the kitchen, "did you do to the jacket?"
Adrien was cornered. He had nowhere to go. All possible exits were blocked by Marinette, Plagg was preoccupied with two whole wheels of Camembert, and Marinette had that look in her eye. The one promising pain and torture and his anime collection finding itself on eBay before he could even say "spaghetti". What's worse was that Marinette knew she had him on the ropes.
He gulped. "I can explain?"
"Start talking." She leveled the handle to his neck, and his eyes grew frantic. "If you talk fast enough, I might cancel the auction for your PreCure action figure in time."
"You don't mean..." He gasped, covering his mouth with his hands. "Not Cure Twinkle, Go! Princess Precure limited edition! Anyone but her! Take Cure Flora, or Scarlet, but not Twinkle!"
"Then, you better start talking, Agreste."
He cried like a baby after that.
--------------------
"You what?"
"I'm so sorry, Mari! I thought it was one of my jackets."
"It was on my bed. It was in my room. You don't just take stuff out of my room—"
"But we had movie night in your room, and I was in a rush! You know how my professor treats students who are late, even if it was just once!"
"That doesn't mean you get to give the jacket to a random stranger in the street who looked cute!"
-----------------
Marinette flopped on the couch, grabbing onto a discarded throw pillow. "What am I going to do?"
"Can't you just buy him a new jacket?" Adrien suggested, then held up a throw pillow in front of his face. The amount of times a heavy object was hurled at his head by a grumpy or catastrophizing Marinette was enough for him to be fearful of her moods.
She mumbled gibberish into the throw pillow. "I'm sorry, could you repeat that again for me, Mari?"
"I can't." She lifted her head off the pillow to give him a self-loathing glare. "His grandmother made it for him. He told me when we went on that study date."
"Oh." Adrien deflated, not even noticing she called it a date like he had been telling her it was. An idea hit him. "Well, why don't you make one for him? An MDC original, handmade by MDC herself, has got to be worth something, right?"
Marinette opened her mouth to refute it, and closed it, thinking. If she could make it exactly how it was when she got it...
She jumped up, rushing to her bedroom. She needed to research where the hell could she buy flannel from Kansas fast.
As soon as she left the room, Adrien collapsed on the couch. He congratulated himself. He wasn't going to die today. Maybe.
----------------------
Two days and one sleepless night later, she regretted all her decisions. Thank Kwami it was a weekend.
Somehow, she had convinced Kaalki to transport her to a small haberdashery in rural Kansas. The isolated town of Smallville was quaint with its little shops and smiling folks. Vintage cars and retro shops lined the streets, and they even had an old school general store near the center of town. It looked like a place she could imagine herself growing old in, and she would have loved to explore the place more, maybe get one of those famous apple pies Jon kept telling her about, if she hadn't seen the boy himself sitting in the back of an old blue pickup truck the moment she stepped out of the haberdashery.
So, you might ask, what did she do?
Simple. She ducked in between the haberdashery and the laundromat, summoned Kaalki, and portalled out of there in five seconds flat.
That wasn't even the least of her troubles. When she came back to class on Monday, Jon sat next to her like usual. It would have been fine until he mentioned her visit to Smallville. She didn't even realise that he'd seen her.
"Uh— yeah Smallville went— I mean, I went to your Smallville— wait, no that's not right, I wanted to jacket—" She lit up bright red and shoved the box she carried into class at him.
"Oomph!" Jon held the box and furrowed his eyebrows. "What's this?"
She took a deep breath. "So you remember that jacket you lent me when we first met? The flannel one that your grandma made you? Well, my roommate slash brother kinda took it without me knowing and somehow gave it to a stranger, so I made you a new one and it's made of the same materials that your grandma used, at least I think they're made of the same material and I couldn't find the correct buttons so I picked the closest one to it and I'm sosorryagainit'sallmyfault—"
She didn't even know her eyes were closed until she was shocked by a weight falling on her shoulders. The surprise made her jump, hitting Jon on the forehead.
"OUCH!"
They looked at each other, and they laughed at the red forming on their heads. They were a pair of blue-eyed clumsy idiots. But, they were a pair of blue-eyed clumsy idiots together in the same economics course.
Grinning, Jon opened the box, took out the jacket, and put it on, showing off the back to Marinette. "How do I look?"
The MDC original signature fluttered on the collar as he spun around.
"It's perfect." She beamed, clutching her hands close to her heart.
---------
Bloopers:
Adrien nudged her as she ran to the car waiting in front of the campus. "Hey, hey, hey—"
"What do you want?" She hissed, resisting the urge to yank him by the ear. Damn tall genes.
"You might want a stop staring at his neck like that." He wiggled his eyebrows. "He's gonna start thinking you're a vampire, or maybe you've got a neck kink—"
"START WALKING, AGRESTE!"
so i've rewritten this author note at least four times now, so I'm just gonna leave it at the regular greetings. like, reblog, and comment! thanks for @maribat-calendar-events for the wonderful prompts, and everyone have a good day

Goodbye Paris
Marinette is 17 and the other 18 in this Au.
Marinette's parents fall under Lila's spell as well. She starts filling them with lies about Marinette and soon they start believing her.
Lila accuses Marinette of sneaking out and hanging out with the wrong people. Sabine and Tom start believing her, especially when they notice she wasn't there one night. She was out patrolling as Ladybug.
Soon Marinette is on lock down barely able to leave her house. She struggles to even get out as Ladybug.
Her parents become more and more distant, soon not even talking to Marinette. No goodbyes, hellos, I missed you, or I love you, just silence. Marinette tries to combat the lies but her parents won't listen. She slowly gives up focusing on Hawkmoth, school, and designing.
Halfway through the year she opts to graduate early forfeiting walking at graduation. She doesn't even mention it to her parents, just focuses on getting money together for her own place while applying to colleges overseas. After she stops attending Chloe reaches out to her apologizing for everything she had done and asking for a second chance. Chloe moved to America with her mother, their junior year unable to handle akuma anymore. Marinette tells her their relationship will be rockey and first but she agrees to a new start.
It's right before the end of the school year when Ladybug and Chat Noir defeat Hawkmoth and get the two missing Miraculouses back. Chat gets mad when Ladybug refuses to reveal her identity and attempts to make her. She stops him and takes his Miraculous back as well revealing Adrien.
"This is goodbye Chaton. If you had taken this more seriously. Perhaps you could know it, but you never did."
She leaves him there returning home and safely putting the peacock and butterfly miraculouses away. After his defeat she stops patrolling as Ladybug and instead plans her move, not wishing to be with her parents any longer.
Once she stops patrolling petty crime begins to pick up again. The city starts crying out for Ladybug to return but Marinette wont. She can't be there for everything, it's time the police start doing their job again. After a month the city is outraged that Ladybug is nowhere to be seen. They take to Adrien who admits to being Chat Noir, he apologizes to Paris saying that Ladybug took his Miraculous. He tells them that he wants to help but she won't help him any longer. After his display Paris begins a smear campaign against Ladybug. Tired of this Marinette transforms and heads to the Eiffel Tower broadcasting to all of Paris her goodbye.
Marinette- I have heard the out cry at my disappearance, and I find it deplorable. I have been fighting since I was thirteen. Did any of you think of that? You have had a child fighting your battles for you with another child that never took it seriously! Now, now you smear my character, saying I am a villain after I have taken down Hawkmoth. All because I stopped patrolling and taking down petty criminals. Instead of looking at me you should be looking at your police force. I am done, I thought of coming back after college but after all this, no. This is goodbye Paris, for good.
After her speech Chloe video calls her asking her if she is okay. Marinette plays everything off saying she is fine until Chloe tells her that she knows she is Ladybug. Marinette hesitates trying to think of a cover but just sighs asking how Chloe knew. Chloe smiles and tells her that she grew up with the girl only and the imbecile would not be able to tell that their 'Everyday Ladybug' was their actual Ladybug. Soon after the girls get a request for Luka to join. Once he is on the call he offers his own word of comfort causing Marinette to groan and Chloe to laugh. Luka simply tells her that her song is the same beautiful piece in and outside of the mask. Marinette grumbles teasingly about Metas being annoying, causing Luka to chuckle smiling at her. She tells them that she is leaving Paris for good now that Hawkmoth is gone. Chloe encourages her to move to America and go to Juliard while Luka simply hums strumming his guitar. When he opens his eyes he tells her to follow the path that calls to her, causing Chloe to groan. Snapping at him Half heartedly he simply smiles at the two girls before saying he needs to get to bed, the girls smile saying goodnight and wishing him good luck with his show the next day before they hang up.
She is really thankful that she changed her designer name shortly after Lila came to her school. Now known as MDC she has a thriving online website and even has a few designers that follow her designs down to every single stitch. While she also helps them get their own lines started. She even begins to employ models, Chloe begging her most popular. Her clientele extended even more and she had a lot of famous musicians commissioning her. She was even commissioned by Megan Markle before she and Prince Harry got married, and was even invited to the wedding she attended with Kaalki's help.
Marinette applies to a few different colleges all in America knowing that staying in Paris was no longer an option. She is accepted at Juilliard, Harvard, and Gotham University, she wants to go to Juliard but something calls her to Gotham. She can't stop going back to Gotham's acceptance letter and ends up researching Githam and talking it over with Chloe and Luka. She doesn't make a decision until Luka tells her once again to follow the call. So she confirms attendance, not telling her parents as she leases an apartment in a safer part of Gotham. She gets in contact with one of her employed designers, Taylor in America and requests her help.
Taylor is the in-between for Marinette and interior designers in Gotham. Helping both sides design the and decorate the penthouse so its move in ready.
Soon after the penthouse is finished Marinette packs everything in her room slowly shipping out boxes to Taylor. A couple nights later when Marinette has everything except necessities shipped her parents request she moves out saying they don't even know her anymore.
"Don't worry I already have an apartment and everything set up near my college. I leave in three days. And you don't know me huh? Well I guess that's because you two haven't really been parents in a while. Now if you'll excuse me."
Tom and Sabine are shocked especially since Lila told them Marinette had decided not to go to college at all. They confront Marinette telling her not to lie about it. She simply sighs sadly and pulls out all three acceptance letters, telling them she isn't telling them which one she decided to go with because they'll no longer be a part of her life.
The day she is set to leave Jagged and Penny are outside in a limo waiting for her. Marinette walks out of the bakery smiling brightly as Jagged gets out hugging her tightly. She thanks him for coming to America with her till she gets settled in. The driver takes her suitcase, putting it in the trunk before opening the door once again letting Jagged and Marinette in. Before getting in and driving to the airport to take Jagged's private jet to America.
They meet Chloe and Audrey at the Gotham airport, both women wanting to welcome Marinette to America. They follow the three to Marinette's penthouse. Chloe is in love with the place and practically begs Marinette to let her live with her. Marinette smiles laughing and tells her she was going to offer her a room after a month or two. Audrey agrees, telling Chloe to just make sure and call her, so she knows they're both safe.
Marinette's penthouse is big! It has two guest rooms, specially for Jagged, Penny, and her designers, when they come to visit. However now one has become Chloe's room. A kitchen her great uncle would be jealous of. A personal gym. A living room with a ping pong table and flat screen tv. 3 bathrooms. Marinette's own designing room, and the Master suite. The Master suite had a loft bed with stairs leading up to it, not a ladder. A large area set up for gaming consoles and a flat screen tv. Underneath the loft was Marinette's desk and desktop. One wall was a complete window showing Gotham from above, and against the other wall was a large luxury dollhouse decked out with hand made furniture. Something Marinette had requested was special for the Kwami to not have to remain in the box twenty four seven.
Marinette has the entire summer to herself and she doesn't have to deal with her birth parents ignoring her. She and Chloe can't wait to explore Gotham, and although Mari wishes she could patrol like she used to. She knows that this is Batman's city, and she doesn't want to get on his bad side. Instead she'll explore on the ground, and fly in her gym, which she had specially fitted with the ceiling covered in bars and ropes.
She even agrees to teach Chloe how to use the rope nest, with a net underneath them of course.
That next day Marinette, Chloe Jagged, and Penny ended up in the Gotham Gazette. Everyone wanted to know why Jagged was in Gotham and who Marinette was. Penny ended up scheduling a video meeting between Jagged and Gotham's main news station.
Jagged- I am not moving here, nor am I here for a show. You see my honorary niece. I have to say honorary because we arent actually related which is stupid! Anyway! She is my personal designer MDC, I only wear her clothing. She just graduated high school and got accepted at Gotham University. So she moved here, and Penny, Fang, and I wanted to spend the beginning of the summer with her! Mari! Come say hello!
Marinette- Uncle I swear if you want dinner you need to stop distracting me. Hello Madame, Monsieur, I'm Marinette more popularly known as MDC. Pleasure to meet you. I'm actually in college for my business degree!
Chloe- Don't forget me! Honestly you two can be ridiculous together utterly-
Jagged and Mari smiling mischievously at her- Ridiculous!
Chloe huffs before turning to the newscaster- Chloe Bourgeois, I am Marinette's main model and top female model. I moved here with Marinette as well, though I won't be going to college, you will see me around the city doing photoshoots.
Penny takes over after Marinette and Chlke give quick interviews. Once the food is done both say goodbye and get excited to eat. However before Jagged hangs up everyone watches Marinette picks up Fang like he is nothing and cuddles him to her chest. Jagged burst into laughter and the interviewer's shocked face.
For the next couple weeks Marinette eagerly explores the city with Chloe, meeting people and unknowingly creating a name for herself. Orphans know that they can come to her for food or clothes and never have to worry about her turning them in.
A few weeks into living there they get an invitation to Bruce Wayne's upcoming charity ball. Marinette quickly gets to work making their outfits in time for the ball. While making sure the Kwami can handle Fang and that Fang knows not to eat them.
The three make waves when they arrive. Penny and Jagged wear matching outfits however they are drawn back and more muted than usual, still capturing their rock n roll vibes. Jaggeds favorite part is the music notes hand stitched on the arms of his jacket and the train of Penny's dress. Meanwhile Marinette's outfit is made to resemble the night sky and when she moves in the light her dress twinkles in the light. Chloe's is made to resemble the sun. It's a layer with yellow and orange tulle.
Jagged and Penny talk to the people conversing while Marinette talks to a few people before being able to edge herself away. While Chloe immerses herself with the other model at the gala. Marinette makes a sizable donation, the money a combination of her own and her designers making sure their names are also on the donation before making her way to the food table and snagging a few cookies eating them slowly while observing the people around her.
Damian stumbles upon her when he finally finds an excuse to slip away. He doesn't speak to her at first just standing there sipping his champagne. They are both silent before Marinette snorts, placing her arm on his shoulder gently and leaning closer to whisper.
Marinette-look to our right the man in the terbile green suit is about to get slapped by his wife
Damian glances over and watches as Mr. Tennor gets slapped hard by his wife causing everyone to go silent as she berates him for thinking he could get away with bringing his Mistress to a charity event. Only for his Mistress to turn on him slapping him as well. Saying that he told her they were finishing their divorce. The Mistress huffs, turning to Mrs. Tennor and apologizes before storming out.
Damian turns away from the facing Marinette as he struggles not to laugh while the room is still silent. Once the talking picks back up Damian introduces himself and Marinette does the same. A little amused by the stars in Damian's eyes when he confirms she's MDC. He admits that her album covers are his favorites of Jagged's and that he has even attempted commissioning her but was unable to get in. Marinette apologizes telling him that recently she's been keeping the same clientele since she was planning on moving. She then pulls out her phone unlocking it and giving it to him.
Marinette-Put your number in and I'll contact you tomorrow about what you want to commission.
The two spend the rest of the night talking and pointing out things about those around them. Marinette's hand remains on his shoulder and soon she is leaning against him, her head resting on his shoulder and his arm around her waist as they whisper back and forth. Pointing out different things to each other and hiding the laughter as best they can.
At one point Damian notices his father starting to walk over and quickly asks her to dance. Marinette is surprised at first but she notices Mr. Wayne makes his way towards them and smirks before nodding. Damian takes her hand leading her to the dance floor. Marinette smiles at him and starts teasing him asking if he didn't want his father to see her with him. Damian quickly tells her that's not it before realizing that she was joking. He rolls his eyes huffing at her saying that his father would make a scene. This causes Marinette to snort before agreeing to help each other hide from him for the night, and they do so successfully. The only one to catch the two is Chloe who gives Damian a quick one over before deeming him good enough for her Marinette. At the end of the night Jagged and Penny find Marinette and return to her penthouse. Marinette says goodbye to Damian kissing his cheek softly before leaving with them.
When Bruce finally catches up to his youngest he huffs wrapping an arm around his shoulder declaring that they were going to have a long talk on the ride home.
The rest of the night his entire family won't stop teasing him about actually dancing with a girl and not getting her number. They keep bringing it up until he smirks holding up his phone.
Damian- That's because she got mine instead.
He leaves the room leaving his brother in slight shock while Alfred holds up a camera and asks if they want to see pictures of the two together.
A week later Marinette meets Robin for the first time when Marinette is cornered in an alley. When Robin drops down startling them Marinette jumps into action stomping on one guy's foot getting him to release her before flipping him over her shoulder. Then she attacks at the two closest to her she flips over one's shoulder dropping behind him and kicking his legs out from under him. Punching him hard in the face. After knocking him out she jumps back as the other guy attempts to hit her. She dodges and blocks his punch before flipping back and crouching launching herself forward and punching him in the gut hard. She steps back breathing hard as she watches Robin take out the last guys. Robin turns to her and looks her over making sure she isn't hurt. Marinette thanks him softly leaning against the wall trying to catch her breath. Once she is calmed down Robin escorts her home.
The next day Damian messages her asking her on a date. Marinette teasingly asks if he's just doing this to convince her to give him a discount and he just groans. Marinette laughs telling him to pick her up at 6.
Marinette and Damian spend the summer getting to know each other and going on dates. Meeting Damian's family was an adventure for her, she loved getting to know the boys, Stephanie, Barbara, and Cass. (Dick and Barbara are definitely married in this one.) She also found it extremely easy to figure out her Damian was Robin, who she always caught stopping by on the roof across from her building.
Chloe bonds phenomenally with Stephanie; the two girls are practically glued at the hip. They spend almost all their time together, and while they don't voice it, the majority of the family had a feeling they were dating.
Soon after Chloe discovers their secret as well. They both decided not to tell them they knew because both girls knew how important secret identities were. The only people that knew Marinette was a hero was Cass and Alfred, and that was because Cass had noticed Tikki and Alfred was Duusuu's holder a long time ago.
The three bond phenomenally well, so much so that Damian is worried Cass may steal his Marinette.
Soon the end of summer is on them and Damian finally asks Marinette to be his girlfriend and she agrees. They are now Gotham's power couple. Pictures and videos of them are everywhere on the news and Twitter.
There are even Tiktoks of them while they're out in public. Marinette's favorite is them dancing in the rain one day both laughing and smiling brightly as some kids join them.
Marinette is named Gotham's new Princess and is praised by Damian's old classmates for breaking through and making the 'Ice Prince' smile and laugh.
Soon after Chloe and Stephanie announce that they are dating as well. Both couples are all over the news and papers.
Halfway through their first year of college Lex Luthor is named President of the United States. This causes the heros to panic however they make no moves instead they begin building a case against him. This comes to a halt when the entire Batfamily is cut off from them. An earthquake wreaks Gotham killing millions and destroying the city and the bridges giving them access to the rest of the states. President Luthor locks down Gotham essentially giving up on the city and allowing no outside contact or help.
It's during this period of time that Marinette and Chloe reveal they know their identities by crashing a meeting in the Batcave.
Marinette- Yes, yes, we know and will explain later, but right now I have a plan on how to get Gotham back on its feet.
Marinette's plan relies heavily on her and Bruce's businesses. The Wayne family and Marinette are going to rebuild Gotham from the bottom up. She tells Bruce that publicly Batman is going to hand over the only way of communication outside of Gotham over to Bruce Wayne during a press conference. Then Bruce will announce their plans of using this resource to continue to bring money into the city through him and Marinette. The family is going to be hiring clean up crews, medical workers, and construction workers to rebuild their city. Marinette and Bruce focus mainly on bringing in money. Jason's focus is on helping orphans, street kids, and newly made orphans. Setting up better Orphanages with better staff and making sure no kid is a meal ticket. Dick's focus is on getting the police force back up with Gordon's help and weeding out as many corrupt cops. Tim focuses on hiring construction workers and clean up crews getting Gotham cleaned up and starting reconstruction. Cass is the one helping find more medical personnel and working with getting hospitals up and going. Damian personally spoke with Gothams bigger villains in Arkham explaining what happened and what Luthor is trying to do. Thanks to him Arkham is pretty much guaranteed no breakouts. In fact many were surprised to see henchmen from different villains joining in on the clean up. Kate also helps out working hard to get electricity back up and running with electricians  while making sure no down wires are active. Stephanie and Chloe are praised for getting out and helping the clean up crews as well as the police with finding bodys of missing citizens.
It takes over a year but the Wayne family, Marinette, and Chloe get Gotham back on its feet better than ever. And they use Luthor's abandonment of Gotham to get him impeached. After they've finally reopened Gotham to the rest of the states, Bruce throws a city wide party. He even sends special catering to Arkham asylum as thanks to the villains for not just remaining there but sending their henchmen out to help.
Bruce gives a big thanks to everyone for all their help with rebuilding their beautiful city.
It's shortly after his speech Damian and Marinette are enjoying the small fair that Bruce paid for. They are walking through the game area sharing cotton candy when Damian gets lost in the moment and asks her to marry him. Marinette laughs pulling him into a deep kiss causing citizens around them to start cheering. She waits until they've quieted down before pulling back.
Marinette-Yes Damian, I'll marry you!
This causes citizens to burst into cheers again. All of them giving their cities power couple their congratulations. While Damian is embarrassed saying that he doesn't have a ring for her. Marinette just smiles and kisses him softly telling him not having a ring isn't a big deal because she would have said yes either way.
A few minutes later a soft spoken Hispanic woman exits her jewelry booth giving them two small rings.
The woman-This is for until he finally gets you one Miss. Free of charge, consider it a thanks for helping my city and a congratulations present.
She squeezes both their hands smiling softly at the two and congratulates them before leaving them.
After the city party, they finally address Marinette and Chloe knowing their identities. It happens at Marinette's rebuilt penthouse. Marinette smiles telling them that it was the Kwami that really pointed it out to her. While Chloe tells them she caught Stephanie in her outfit one night and just pretended she had been asleep the entire time. Everyone but Alfred is confused about the Kwami until Marinette asks them to come out. The Kwami fly in spreading around the room, Duusuu sits calmly on Alfred's shoulder, Pollen resting herself in Chloe's hair, while Tikki and Plagg float by Marinette's shoulders.
Marinette-Let me introduce you to Kwami. Gods and Goddesses that grant their chosens their powers. Tikki and Plagg are the two most powerful Destruction and Bad Luck, Creation and Good Luck. I'm Tikki's chosen, I am-
Tim-Ladybug...you're Paris's missing heros.
Marinette sighs softly nodding thinking about her last day as Ladybug
Chloe- I was Honeywell for a short while until I moved to america. Pollen and I were a great team.
Pollen petting her hair gently-We were the best my Queen.
Marinette-Paris started relying on me for everything. The police stopped doing their jobs and when I finally defeated the villain that was plaguing them, it wasn't enough. I loved being a hero but they expected me to do everything. You all know that it isn't possible to do everything.
Bruce asks why she never went out as Ladybug. Marinette smiles and tells him that while she misses it she knew that this was Batman's city and that metas weren't allowed.
Marinette-I know technically I'm not one, but Tikki gives me powers.
After that Marinette begins to train with Bruce so that she can hit the streets with them, without the Miraculous. Chloe while learning how to fight with Stephanie declines becoming a vigilante with them. Marinette loves every second of it, she loves actually having a mentor to teach her. And it felt nice to have a father figure in her life once again. Six months later she is joining the family for her first night of patrol as BlackBird.
Blackbird spends most of her time with Batwomem, on patrol and missions. Her first big villain was Riddler, however before he could even utter a riddle Blackbird tore into him for his terrible outfit. To the point that Riddler practically threw himself at Batman in tears crying and telling him his new protégé was mean.
Blackbird is a rising hero in Gotham and the hero community. Soon she begins attending Justice League meetings with the others considering joining. It is there she meets Wonder Women, and asks how her mother is doing. Diana realizes quickly that she is speaking with a Guardian and finds out later that Blackbird is the current Ladybug as well.
The family also begins planning Damian and Marinette's public wedding and their private wedding. Stephanie is the one that asks her if she wants to have the private wedding in Paris, everyone only a little surprised she straight out refuses.
Marinette-I said goodbye all that time ago, and I don't think I wish to return.
That night she asks Bruce to walk her down the aisle along with her grandfather. When asked about her own parents Marinette smiles sadly telling them that they no longer consider her their daughter, so they were not invited. Bruce smiles softly brushing Marinette's hair down gently with his hand before agreeing to walk her. She asks Chloe to be her Maid of Honor and Kate, Cass, and Stephanie to be her Bridesmaid
Three weeks later they are sending out invites to people for their private wedding in 6 months and the public one in a year.
Marinette asks Jagged and Luka to be the entertainment for both nights and they agree. Sabine and Tom are not invited; they find out when Gina shows up excited asking why they never told her Marinette had met someone in America. They are even more surprised to find out Rolland is closing up shop and going to the wedding as well. Gina is upset to find out they kicked Marinette out and tears into them. At this point Lila comes into the bakery and tries to sway Gina onto her side. Gina just scoffs and shakes her head, telling her she'd never believe another girl over her granddaughter.
Gina storms out of the bakery refusing to talk to her son or daughter-in-law. After she leaves they google their daughter trying to find out who she is engaged to, they find out everything about Marinette helping rebuild Gotham out of her own pocket with the help of Bruce Wayne, and her engagement to Damian Wayne.
They try every attempt to contact her even going through old friends only to find she changed her number. They don't hear anything more of her until a year later when their wedding is broadcast from Gotham. Tom cries when Marinette is escorted down the aisle by her Grandfather and Bruce Wayne. She stops hugging them both tightly before taking Damian's hands, their eyes unable to leave each other, as they say their vows.
Marinette- Before I even had colleges lined up one of my best friends told me to follow the call. A few weeks later three colleges accepted me, but only one kept calling me back, Gotham University. I couldn't stop researching the city, I couldn't get it out of my head. It was like something was waiting for me here, so I decided to accept Gotham University. I moved here with one of my friends expecting an adventure. I didn't think my adventure would lead me to the love of my life, but it did. I love you Damian, with all my heart. My next adventure is standing by your side till the end of time.
Damian- Marinette Wayne, no I did not mess up. Marinette, you have been a part of my family since the moment you placed your hand on my shoulder and pointed out Mr. Tennor was about to be slapped. Our entire first night together felt magical as cheesy as it sounds. Every day after was amazing, I couldn't believe I met someone as amazing as you. When the earthquake happened and you stepped up helping my family rebuild the city, I knew I wanted you by my side for the rest of my life. So much so that I proposed to you spur of the moment in the middle of the fair, I will forever be grateful that you agreed to marry me. My heart, body, and soul belong to you and solely you Marinette till the end of time.
 When the priest pronounces them husband and wife and announces the kiss Marinette grabs his face gently pulling him down into a deep kiss.
The reception is also broadcast to the public with many famous people offering their congratulations to the happy couple to the camera before heading into the party. Marinette and Damian are the last to arrive and while they don't talk to the camera they stop posing together for the camera. Both unwilling to even leave the other side. Throughout the reception all the speeches are broadcasted. The final speech is from the newly married couple. Both of them thanking everyone that came to the wedding. Telling them that they wouldn't be where they were without their friends and family in the room. They share a sweet kiss in front of the crowd at the end of their speech.
Chloe moves into an apartment with Stephanie, while Damian moves into Marinette's penthouse. They are hardly seen separate from each other, pictures of them together are all over the internet and news.
Damian also leaves the title of Robin behind becoming Redbird becoming partners with Blackbird. The two partners are soon dubbed the new Dynamic Duo of Gotham.
They both graduate college together, Damian going into Wayne Enterprises taking over as Ceo with Tim when Bruce steps down. While Marinette built her own fashion empire soon rivaling Audrey's. Her fashion is known around the world, but out of all the cities the most of her sales come from Gotham. Gothamites still not forgetting the young adult that spent billions to help them rebuild.
Soon Marinette and Damian discover that Marinette is pregnant. The two are ecstatic to be parents, Marinette begs Bruce to hold a big family dinner with everyone, and he agrees. Halfway through dinner Bruce finally asks why Marinette called all of them together. Marinette smiles softly before announcing that she is pregnant.
The family burst into cheers, everyone extremely excited and talking with each other about what the baby's name would be.
A few months later they find out its twins. One boy and one girl. They agree on the names Thomas John Wayne and Mary Martha Wayne. This causes both Bruce and Dick to tear up when told.
When the twins are born they are all Gothamites can talk about. The new Wayne twins, everyone can't wait to watch them grow up.
In Paris their grandparents hold on to pictures they find online, knowing they'll never get to know them. That they'll never get to see their daughter again either.

My One And Only - Ch 5
Previous | Next
So here’s chapter 5, I made this a while back when I was still quite new in the community so a lot of things are prob gonna be OOC sorry. Also Tysm for all the notes and reblogs!!!! <3
Then Marinette's phone rang. Damian did get a bit suspicious at first but didn't want to invade her privacy. That was until Marinette's voice echoed through the TV's speakers.
"Hi Uncle Jagged!"
————————————————————
The look of astonishment in Damian's eyes made Marinette giggle. He was stunned in silence as he watched Marinette talk to the phone, her voice echoing slightly from the TV.
"Is it alright if Nadja asks you a few questions?"
"Sure I've got a few minutes" Marinette replied.
"Rock n' Roll!"" Jagged exclaimed before holding the phone, now on speaker, in front of Nadja.
"Hello MDC, this is Nadja Chamack and I'm here to ask you a few questions"
"Sure go ahead!"
"What was your first design for Jagged?"
"Oh yes I remember, it was an original design for an accessory he wanted to wear on his upcoming performance"
"It's actually in my hotel room right now" the voice of a proud Jagged Stone echoed somewhere behind the microphone of the phone.
"Interesting. Now for your actually name, what gave you the idea of calling yourself 'MDC'?"
"Actually, it was Uncle Jagged who suggested the idea."
"How many original designs have you made for Jagged Stone after adopting the name 'MDC'?"
"Oh uh I'd say we past the 100 mark but I can't give you an exact number at this very moment"
Nadja nodded "For our final question, Will you be doing commissions?"
"Actually I have considered it Nadja and I might do a test run soon but as of now, no. I have no plans to do commissions publicly in the near future"
"I see, it's been lovely talking to you MDC"
"Same here, goodbye!" Marinette ended the call and turned to face Damian, to see his reaction to the whole thing. He just stared wide eyed at her, Marinette giggled and that seemed to break him out of his trance. "Shaytan" she giggled again. "What are you're thoughts? How did I do?"
He was still silent, quickly piecing everything together before answering. "You did perfectly Habibti" he said, bringing his face closer to Mari's. Her face then turned a bright blush pink. Damian smirked at how red this girl's face was but that was when her blushing went through the roof. She got up, walked to the other side of Damian, sat back down, put her hands on the boy's left shoulder and proceeded to bury her face in his shoulder while letting out a moan of embarrassment. 'Adorable' "Angel it's fine, I was just teasing" He felt Marinette raise her head so he turned to face her only to be dragged down by Marinette herself. She pulled him down so the his body lay flat on the couch but his head landed on Marinette's lap. This time, she was the one to have the mischievous smile on her face.
"I win" she giggled.
Damian chuckled. "Fine, you win", Then the boy thought of something. "Hey can I ask you something?"
"Sure, what is it?"
"I know this is a lot to ask but do you think you can make something for my brothers?" Damian asked .
"You want them to be in you're debt"
"Yeah I want them to be in my debt"
Marinette giggled. "Sure I can make them something, I was going to do that anyway. Do you think I should make them all hats?"
"If you do, fedoras please"
Marinette laughed more. "Fedoras it is! But I might make them something like a jacket too!"
"Hey, are you staying for dinner?" The black-haired boy asked, half-hoping she would say yes.
"If you want me too, then sure"
"Great and there's something I want to discuss with you at dinner"
~~~
Adrien and Nino were having a competitive game of table football while Alya was on the couch, on her phone, trying to think of all the possible reasons why Marinette didn't mess her words up with Adrien. The only reasonable explanation was that she liked someone else. That someone could only be Luka as that's the only other guy Marinette liked but it still didn't make sense as Marinette clearly stated that she thought of Luka as a brother. Alya sighed in defeat which was noticed by Nino.
"Got any luck?" He asked.
"Nope, Max said that the voice was too pixelated" Alya had asked Max to try and find out MDC's identity but he hadn't have any luck. "Adrien, is Kagami coming over?"
"Yeah, she said she was on her way" the blonde boy said after winning against Nino for the tenth time. "But before she comes I want to talk to you guys about something"
"Sure dude"
"Go ahead"
Adrien took a big breath. "The thing is I like Kagami, I like her very much but recently I think something's changed. I still like her but I'm beginning to see Marinette as more than just a friend. I think I might be starting to have a crush on her but I'm still not sure as I also like Kagami" Adrien took another big breath, "So what are your thoughts?"
"Well it looks like you've got yourself in a pickle Adrien Agreste" Alya said. "First, before you do anything, do you know if they like you back?"
"Just listen to her I'm no good with this stuff" Nino said.
"Well I have a feeling Kagami likes me but since I've started to like Marinette I've been rejecting her advancements" he chuckled nervously.
"Well I all I can do is see how is plays out, sorry Adrien" Alya said, putting a hand on his shoulder to show her support.
Then they heard the sound of a door opening coming from down stairs. "That must be Kagami, I'll go get her" then Adrien left the room leaving Alya and Nino by themselves.
"The moment Adrien starts liking her, Marinette shows signs of not liking him anymore" Nino sighed.
"The universe just loves to play with love doesn't it?" Alya replied with an exasperated sigh.
Then Kagami came in followed by Adrien. "Hello everyone" Kagami said. Alya knew she need to talk with her.
"Hi Kagami! Can you come with me please? Adrien can we go talk in your bathroom? Thanks!" Without waiting for an answer from anyone she grabbed Kagami's hand a led her to the bathroom. Adrien looked at Nino confused but Nino just shrugged his shoulders and they both went to play table football again. "Sorry for dragging you like that but we need to talk about Marinette"
"Why is something wrong?" Kagami asked worriedly.
"Well not really" Kagami sighed in relief. "You know how Marinette doesn't like Luka anymore right?"
"Does she like him again even after saying he is like a brother to her?" Kagami asked.
"No I don't think she does. As this isn't really a secret I'll tell you, you see Marinette had this huge crush on Adrien" Kagami slowly nodded at Alya's words. "Emphasis on the 'had'. I think she likes someone else now"
"Is that the problem? That Marinette doesn't love Adrien anymore?" Kagami said a little on the harsh side.
Alya shook her head. "That isn't what I'm trying to say. What I'm trying to find out is who does she is love now?”
Idea for a Daminette fanfic! Marinette gets so tired and fed up with Lila's lies and manipulative ways that she decides to move to New York and finds herself being very liked among many ppl in NY because they know her from Paris. They start to love her fashion and Audrey offers her another fashion internship. But she meets the Wayne Brothers and she starts to have feelings for Damian and Damian feels the same about her.
Here you go, sorry it took a little longer. Hope you like it!
Marinette was just done. Lila’s lies and manipulations were getting worse. She was beginning to turn everyone against Marinette. Marinette had had faith in everyone she knew. She thought they wouldn’t fall for Lila’s lies, but they were starting to fall for it. Marinette didn’t know what to do anymore. The only people still in her corner were her parents and Adrien. After talking it over with all of them, Marinette had a plan.
 ------------------
First, she was going to graduate early. She worked hard and was allowed to graduate by the end of the school year. She didn’t tell anyone else in her class that she had graduate, not that they were on speaking terms anyway. When she came home after picking up her diploma, it was like a weight had lifted from her shoulders.
  ------------------
The next step of the plan was to leave Paris. Marinette decided that she needed to get away from Lila and her old friends. Hawkmoth had been defeated for about three months now, so there wasn’t anything making her stay in Paris anymore. Realizing that she still wanted to start her own fashion brand, Marinette decided to go to one of the fashion capitals of the world, New York. After saying goodbye to her family and Adrien, Marinette boarded a plane and left for New York.
  ------------------
Once she arrived, Marinette got to work. She launched a website for commissions, so she could start getting her name out there. Once Jagged Stone endorsed the website and designer, the commission requests came flooding in. Soon, MDC was a household name in the fashion world. Marinette’s designs were loved by everyone.
  ------------------
Marinette had also made several new friends since being in New York. Friends that trusted Marinette and truly enjoyed her company. Marinette was happy with her new life. Adrien came to visit several times and always got along with Marinette’s new friends. Everything in Marinette’s life had improved.
  ------------------
Back in Paris, no one knew where Marinette went. She just never came back to school after the break. Lila was also gone on a ‘humanitarian mission’, so she didn’t know that Marinette had left. She came back claiming that Marinette attacked her as soon as Lila returned to Paris. Lila was quickly exposed, but the class still didn’t know where Marinette was. That was, until, MDC became popular and they learned she had moved to New York.
  ------------------
As MDC was taking off, Audrey decided to offer Marinette another internship. Marinette agrees for a trial period, hoping this might help her get further in the fashion world and let her start designing her own lines, not just doing commission work. This internship would change Marinette’s life, but not the way she had expected.
  ------------------
Audrey brought Marinette to Gotham for a job. Audrey had been commissioned by Bruce Wayne for new suits for him and his sons. While they were in Gotham, Marinette met Damian Wayne. They started to grow closer and quickly developed feelings for each other.
  ------------------
Soon after, Damian asked Marinette on a date. The two grew closer over time, their feelings for the other growing stronger. Marinette stopped working with Audrey and moved to Gotham permanently. She set up her first boutique and settled into a life in Gotham. Marinette was truly happy with her life. She was glad that she decided to leave Paris all those years ago, and is even more happy that she met Damian Wayne.
I love your sibling Jasonette so much!! If you don't mind, could you do Marinette's first meeting with the rest of the Batfam? Also, this is probably a stupid question but are the rest of the sibling Jasonette stories connected?
Not a stupid question at all! I wrote them so that if you read all of them, there are parallels so that they could be connected, but if people didn’t want to read all of them, they could also stand on their own :)
I also NEVER mind writing more sibling Jasonette ;) Hope you enjoy! @moonlitjiminie
Family Game Night
“What if they don’t like me?”
Jason stopped in his tracks, shaking his head in disappointment.
“Is that even a real question that you’re asking me? I’m honestly offended right now that you would even think they had an option to not like you.”
He dramatically placed his hand over his heart as if her words had fatally wounded him earning a small giggle from the girl. Slinging his arm over her shoulder, she managed to breathe a small sigh of relief as they made their way up the long staircase.
Jason didn’t even bother knocking as he threw open the manor doors, effectively dragging her in with him.
“Master Jason, what a pleasure to see you attend family game night and with a guest in tow, how lovely.”
An older man stood in the foyer, his sly smile warming Marinette to the core instantly. Jason narrowed his eyes playfully at the man, a sly smile of his own tugging at his lips.
“Marinette, let me introduce you to the only sane person in this household. Mr. Alfred Pennyworth. He likes to pretend he’s just a humble butler, but we all know that he secretly runs the whole thing around here.”
Alfred bowed deeply to Marinette to which she could only curtsey in return.
“It’s a pleasure, sir. I am sorry for invading your family time. I was under the impression that my presence was a known factor tonight.” Her narrowed eyes shot to Jason who simply shrugged, his smirk as arrogant as ever.
“Nonsense, a friend of Master Jason is a friend to all. You are by far the most pleasant friend he has brought to this event.”
Marinette almost wanted to ask about the context of his remark, but something in her gut told her she really didn’t want to know.
“Please, follow me to the sitting room. The rest of the family has already arrived.”
They walked in a comfortable silence down the hall, Marinette nerves slightly frayed now knowing that nobody expected her appearance. Alfred pushed open two oak doors, revealing a brightly lit room filled with many laughing faces. When Jason said he had a lot of siblings, Marinette thought two or three. Nothing could have prepared her for this.
“Oh my god, Jason brought home a girl!”
Instantly all sounds in the room paused as many heads turned their attention to where Marinette stood in the doorway. Hesitantly, she raised her hand in greeting, a sheepish smile gracing her face.
“Everyone, this is Marinette, the legendary designer MDC, and my sister. She’s flown all the way from Paris to meet you losers for some reason so be nice.”
Marinette mumbled a quiet hello as a few smiles broke through the room welcoming her. Instantly, a blonde girl jumped up to drag her back to where she was previously sitting, ignoring Jason’s protests.
“You just have to play on my team tonight! Are you any good at Pictionary? I mean I’m not great, but I can say with utmost confidence that I can beat most of the people in this room.”
“That’s not true!” Marinette’s attention was split as one of the men started an argument with her as to who was the better pictionary-ist. She didn’t even notice when Jason had sat beside her, an amused smile tugging at his lips.
“The rude blonde is Stephanie Brown. She’s Timmy boys girlfriend, who would be the dead zombie looking kid over there.”
Marinette’s gaze followed to where Jason pointed, a small giggle escaping at his accurate description. The poor boy looked like he hasn’t gotten a good night's sleep a single day in his life.
“The rude boy arguing with Stephanie would be Dick. He practically rivals your optimism except his happy go lucky actually disgusts me.”
The man paused from his argument, a horrified expression on his face.
“I like to think my optimism is a blessing.”
That earned a collective groan from the room to which he simply crossed his arms into a pout.
“Anyways, continuing, the redhead is Barbara Gordon-Grayson who unfortunately has trapped herself in the position of Dick’s wife. A tragedy really for such a beautiful woman, I mean she could’ve had me and instead she chose him? The world just isn’t right.”
Another protest came from Dick’s direction as he turned his pout into Barbara’s outstretched arms as her attempt to not laugh failed miserably.
“The one staring you down while trying to pretend he’s not interested at the same time would be your future husband Damian.”
Marinette felt her entire face flush red as she reached back slapping Jason in the stomach as hard as he could.
“Todd, I do not appreciate harassing this young woman. You are beneath her in status and beauty therefore you should not be allowed to get off with this insult to her self so easily.”
Damian stood from his spot, careful not to make eye contact with Marinette as he sped past her toward the room’s only exit. She wanted to call out and ask him to stay, but the pink on his cheeks caused her to pause. He probably was just as embarrassed as her and just needed some time to breathe.
“Jason, that was mean! Look at how flustered you made him!”
Jason simply laughed as he reached over to ruffle her hair.
“Trust me, he never gets ‘flustered’ that was all you.”
For the second time that night, Marinette felt her face flush.
“He’s right you know!” Her eyes turned back to the blonde from earlier who stared her down with a playful expression in her eyes. “Demon spawn definitely has a crush on you.”
The rest of the family took turns picking at her, taking jabs until she was sure there wasn’t one part of her that wasn’t bloodshot red.
“Alright, alright, give the girl some space. We want her to return eventually!”
Marinette smiled gratefully toward the dark-haired man.
“After all, I need to get to know my future daughter-in-law.”
She instantly regretted her friendly gesture as the room exploded once more, smiles and laughter filling the room. Why exactly had she let Jason talk her into this?
“Okay, okay, really though guys. It’s game night! Time to pick team captains.”
Stephanie’s devilish smile sent shivers through Marinette’s spine. It was purely chaotic, reminding her of another blonde that she had left behind.
“I vote Marinette and Jason, the ultimate sibling showdown!” Dick puffed out his chest as his voice mimicked what sounded suspiciously like a wrestling ref that her father loved to watch.
“I’m down, how about you princess?”
Marinette bit her lip as her eyes glanced around the room at their waiting faces. Her eyes caught sight of one brooding face that she couldn’t seem to pass by. He also seemed to be waiting, his eyes nervously glancing from her position to the door as if he might bolt at any moment.
“It’s game on Todd.”
They shook their hands defiantly, both wearing dangerous smirks. Maybe she could salvage her pride tonight; not just hers’ but Damian’s as well. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
“Ladies first.”
Marinette and Jason stood on opposite sides of the room, both watching each other with an intense look that came from their competitive natures. She scanned the eager faces of his family thoughtfully. She had no idea what any of them were good at, but she wanted to maintain appearance for the psych of it.
“Damian.”
Everybody broke out into smirks as they shared knowing looks. She didn’t bother to pay them any mind as the pink-cheeked boy rose to stand with her.
“Wrong move princess, demon spawn hates game night more than he likes to win. My first choice? Stephanie.”
The girl pumped her fist in the air as she joined Jason on his side. Marinette leaned toward where Damian stood, hiding half her face behind her hand.
“Time to strategize, who is my best bet?”
Damian stared at her with a bewildered expression.
“C’mon beau garçon, I need your help if we’re gonna kick Jason’s ass.”
He nodded slowly as if that were a perfectly reasonable excuse to kick into gear.
“Grayson is the leading contender if you wish to win tonight.”
Marinette nodded as she motioned for Dick to join them as well. Jason raised an eyebrow at her as he called over Tim, challenging her to pick from the remaining two.
“Okay Damian, Barbara or Bruce.”
He didn't bother responding as he pointed at his father, leaving the redhead to Jason’s team.
It was five hours of intense games, Alfred keeping score as an unaffiliated third party,( after all, they had all agreed that he was the fairest way to keep the games moving.) They all sat in anticipation while he tallied the scores. She couldn’t seem to calm her nerves as she stared at Jason’s cocky smirk.
Marinette felt a warmth brush by her kneecap. Instantly her head snapped to where a hand rested before her gaze reached back up to his face, a light red dusting across her cheeks. Immediately his hand retracted.
“I’m sorry if that was inappropriate, your knee was just bouncing anxiously from the corner of my eye and it was a slight bother.”
Marinette muttered out a small sorry before they both broke their gaze, the blush evident on both of their cheeks.
“And with a final score of 5-4, the winning team is… Miss Marinette!”
Her whole team jumped from the couch in excitement. Without thinking, she threw her arms around Damian’s neck. Realization crossed her face as she quickly retracted her hug, her entire face as red as could be. God, she hadn’t been this much of a blushing mess since she was thirteen.
They all chatted idly for a few minutes before Jason finally intercepted, insisting he had to get her back to her apartment before it got too late. The whole family waved her goodbye, minus one red-faced teen who instead handed her a small piece of paper as discreetly as he could, ignoring the taunts from his family behind his back.
As they drove back to her apartment, Marinette couldn’t hold her excitement anymore.
“I don’t know why you were warning me so much, I think I’m in love with your family Jason.”
His familiar smirk sat on his face as he turned into the apartment’s lot.
“I told you they were going to love you, and what do you know? I didn’t even have to give Damian your number, you two worked it out on your own. I truly believe they are planning out your wedding right now.”
Marinette shook her head as she reached over the console to hug Jason tightly before stepping out of the car. She wanted to deny accusations of what happened tonight, but she knew it would just fuel his picking.
Besides, even she couldn’t deny that she was excited for the next family game night and if she saw a certain Wayne there, well, that really wouldn’t be so bad.
Fashion Show
Bio!Dad Bruce
Day 7: Fashion Show
@biodad-bruce-month
Ao3 ~~~ First ~~~ Previous ~~~ Next
~~~~~~~~~~
For the last three days in Marinette‘s break the main Batman family traveled to Paris. One they were going to set up Tim in WE Paris branch, and two they’re going to enroll Damian in school alongside Mari. However they had planned a small surprise for their favorite little bug.
They had gotten seats for the final two shows Paris fashion week. The last two shows being of Audrey Bourgeois and MDC.
However they weren’t prepared that when the day of the fashion show came around they were suddenly unable to find Marinette anywhere.
To say that they were worried that, they had lost their sister, was an understatement. The fact that most of them wanted to suit up to look for her may have been an over exaggeration but was totally plan A. However luckily for everyone involved, or really thank you Tikki for telling Mari to send a text to her family saying that she’ll meet them at the show so that they wouldn’t go running off and jumping off rooftops.
---
"Mari you really should be going the show is going to start and your family is going to be wondering why you weren’t there with them" Tikki prompted
"besides Audrey is the opening the show and she said that she would take it care of Your show too while you are with your family" Tikki gave her a knowing look before continuing "as originally you were going to still be in Gotham."
"Sigh do your right Tikki" she conceded to the little goddess "OK just this last little thing and done! OK I’ll just leave everything set up and then I’ll go out to the show. Oh wait I just need to leave this one piece for Audrey!"
She did just that, she had created a special golden, jewel encrusted rose that would be placed on Audreys signature sun hat and a matching gown for her finale/entrance of the show. Marinette could not believe it this is her first entire fashion line and show , granted it was under her pseudo name MDC, but that didn’t mean she didn’t work any less hard on all of these clothes. The only thing was that she would not be making an appearance on stage. But that didn’t mean there wasn’t going to be a signature at the end.
"Where have you been!" Dick almost yelled when he finally saw her coming from backstage.
"Well Audrey had asked me to come over" she answered with a shrug.
"As in the designer whose show is about to start" Damian answered in a bored tone, but she didn't miss the squint of his eyes daring her to back down from what he must have assumed was a lie.
"She had offered me an internship a while back and well I declined it at the time but I still work with her from time to time She’s even wearing a piece of mine for her entrance.
Then as the show began she shushed the boys "it’s starting” she whispered pushing them to the seats. Mari was still quick flash to pull out her sketchbook and throughout the show she took note of all the beautiful designs for later, taking notes to ask her about them later but importantly pieces of inspiration for her to use in later designs.
Between the two shows there was a break in order to change theme and the stage and everything else so that was when Audrey came out.
"Minnette it was pleasure to work with you again your piece was a huge hit if I do say so myself. Oh and who is this now?" She had all finally looked up and seen Bruce as well as his boys and Mari behind that Audrey couldn’t help but be impressed by the suits that they all wore.
"Ohh she let out a small laugh "I should introduce you guys. Audrey this is my biological father, Bruce, and my half brother, Damian, as well as Bruce’s adoptive sons Richard, Jason, and Tim." She pointed to each of the boys and her father respectively and then she saw Audrey‘s calculating eyes glimmer behind her sunglasses and.
'Gasp' "Marinette Dupain-Cheng or should I now say Marinette Wayne really you never told me." she feigned being hurt "Well no matter" she waved it off "I need to help MDC set up a few final things for her show. Now you will be staying for it?"
"Yes we plan on staying for the show" Bruce replied with a smile.
Then Tim spoke up excited "wait do you know who MDC really is I am dying to know who they are. I can’t find any trace of their identity anywhere and I’ve searched."
At this Audrey gave her a small discreet wink from behind her glasses "well it’s not my place to say, now, but I doubt she’ll be keeping it a secret much longer goodbye" she said turning on her heel towards the back stage.
That’s when Tim turned onto Mari "Bean if you work with the Audrey Bourgeois do you know who MDC is? Please, please, please tell me tell me tell me tell me tell me tell me tell me tell me." Tim was begging.
That was when Jason covered his mouth "As fun as it is to hear you beg. You really let Bluebell speak and you need a breathe, or do you want me to knock you out instead? That way we actually all have some quiet for the rest of the evening." Jason discreetly threatened.
"Is it really that hard to figure it out?" she hummed to herself "Because I thought it was obvious." she looked at them.
"Wait so you do know" Tim questioned her again "can you tell me?"
"After the show Timmy" she said as the lights dimmed once again. As the show was coming to an end she made her 'debut'.
Out walked a hologram projection of herself, except no eyes or mouth, and faded from a red head and torso to black hands, feet, and hair. Her hair in a braid laying over her shoulder and was wearing a simple haltered maxi dress following the same color pattern but in reverse. In the black of the dress were embroidered a swarm of bats concentrated in the solid part of the color, the same in the red but with ladybugs. The hologram walked the runway bowed and faded away at the end of the runaway, ending the show.
It wasn't until they reached the apartment she, Tim, and Damian will be living in that they spoke up.
"So do all fashion shows end in such a dramatic way or is it only MDC?" Jason asked.
"Why not a fan of Dramatics Jay?" Mari asked
"Are you joking Little Bat that was amazing!" Dick supplied. if will say the dress at the end was an odd statement. "Damian added.
"Really I didn't think so" Mari countered.
"Bats and Ladybugs weren't an odd combination" he challenged.
"Nope" she only supplied.
"It was a bit Mini" Bruce finally added.
"Okay this is all a thrilling discussion, but Mari who is MDC?" Tim burst.
"Really, still haven't figured it out" she said confused. "I guess you guys need to renounce the title of 'World's Best Detectives'"
"What do you. You!!! You're MDC!!!" Tim finally shouted.
"Took you long enough boy genius." she smirked.

Mismatch- Part 1
Bio Dad Bruce Wayne Month 2020
Just found out this is a thing! I have a couple of  miraculous fics like that (all of them, not really but still!)
Next
------
“We’re late, we’re late, we’re going to be so late,” Ladybug mutteres to herself, as her earrings beep again.
“Yeah, late for our three hour wait,” Chat Noir jokes, running alongside Ladybug. “Which, by the way, is in place so no one is late,”
“Not the point! We still haven't packed!” Ladybug threw her yo-yo out.
“Oh dear if only we had a super convenient way to instantly travel between continents,” Chat Noir teases, landing next to Ladybug.
“We cannot use the horse miraculous for selfish reasons,” They could see the bakery now and sped up before they transforming back.
“Selfish?” Chat calls from behind, the window was open so they jump straight down onto Marinette's bed, “We couldn’t pack cause we spent all afternoon saving Paris, how is that selfish?”
Marinette’s transformation fall as she speeds down the stairs into their room, throwing clothes in her pink polka-dotted suitcase.
“Marion, I don’t have time to argue about this, now pack,” Marinette commands.
“Yes sir,” Marion jokingly salutes as he drops his transformation, giving Plagg cheese before he could complain.
Marinette did her best to quickly fold the clothes, which ended up in a jumbled mess regardless. Marion didn’t seem to care either way and just stuffed whatever clothes he could find into his suitcase.
“Nette, are we putting the Miracle box in a suitcase or carry on?” He asks, pausing before he packs more.
“Better do carry on, we can tell security it's a gift for Aunt Selina that we didn’t want to lose,” Marion nods and shoves an armful of clothes into the suitcase.
Marinette starts rooting around for something, Marion hands her a sketchbook filling her face with relief. The two work frantically for the next ten minutes, Marinette reading off a checklist. She double checks both their bags despite Marion's protests.
“Are you two ready to go, the taxi’s here!” Their Papa calls from downstairs, as Marion is packing his laptop into a backpack.
“Just a minute!” Marinette assures, rushing to the Miracle box to safely zip it into a secret compartment underneath her bag, covering the pocket up with her tablet, another sketchbook and water bottle.
Marion opened up his satchel for Plagg and Kaalki, double checking he had his passport, phone and wallet, Marinette doing the same. Once they were set they gave each other a nod, grabbing their bags to take downstairs.
“Do you have everything?” Their Maman asks, as they struggled to take their heavy bags downstairs.
“Everything that's important,” Marion answers cheerfully.
Sabine nodded with a smile, very used to the panicked calls telling her they forgot something at home.
“Well this isn't a tour bus so make sure you have your toothbrush,” Sabine takes the suitcase from Marion easily.
“Ah!” Marion dashes upstairs to their joint bathroom, fond but exasperate looks following him.
“Now remember to have fun,” Tom tells Marinette, “This isn’t work, make sure to spend time with your friends,”
“Well it’s a little work,” Marinette smiles, it had seemed like a waste to go to Gotham without having a concert. They plan on going to a few more cities in the states after the rest of their class goes back to Paris.
“Make time for fun anyway,” Sabine gives her daughter a hug.
“We will,” Marion runs back downstairs, quickly unzipping his suitcase. Marinette cringed at the mess of clothes all spilling out and was sure a toothbrush wasn't the only thing he forgot.
Marinette gave her Papa a goodbye hug as Sabine helps Marion close his overflowing suitcase. Marion starts to say his goodbyes as Marrinette goes downstairs to promise the taxi driver they're coming. Tom follows shortly, carrying down their suitcases.
“You stay safe ok, Gotham is dangerous,” Tom warns, as their bags are loaded into the car.
“We will, promise,” Marion assures, knowing full well there were two costumes upstairs they plan on using in Gotham, at least they are bullet proof, “Love you,”
“We love you too,” Sabine squeezes them into a tighter group hug.
“I love you too, but we’re really late,” Marinette tries to wriggle out of the hold.
“Make sure you call us,” Tom laughs, letting them go.
“We will,” They get in the taxi, rolling down the window to wave goodbye as they speed down the street.
“Well, I haven’t got any messages demanding to know where we are so that's good, right?” Marinette scrolls through her phone.
“Everything is going to be fine,” Marion rolls the window back up. “We’ve been hours late before and they waited,”
“That was because we were-” She casts a look at the driver, “That was different, I doubt they’d do it again,”
“They better, you're the only reason the class gets to go on this trip,” Marion starts rooting through his carryon, probably double checking everything.
“You helped,” Marion snorts at that.
“I proofread,”
“You gave me lots of ideas, and helped me write it, and you were the one that suggested it in the first place, and-”
“Ok, ok stop,” Marion playfully places his hand over her mouth, and they both brake down in giggles.
They arrive at the airport probably quicker than they should have and unload as fast as they can. They rush inside looking around for the class. They are gathered in a group with Miss Bustier at check in, somewhere around the midway point. The twins walk over to them, remaining on the other side of the tape, not in line.
“Oh good you're here,” Madame Bustier clasping her hands, “I’m afraid you’ll have to go to the back of the line, we can all meet up before security,”
“Looks like you got what you wanted, now we’re all going to be late,” Lila sneers from the crowd around her.
Most of the class gave them slight glares, the others avoiding them. Alya rolls her eyes at them and turns back to Lila asking another question about her newest tall tale. Marinette tries to ignore the sting and Marion rolls his eyes right back at her, Chloe was having a bad influence on him.
“We won't be late for anything,” Kagami speaks up, making her way towards them, “We have plenty of time before the flight leaves, I’ll join you two,”
The twins smile as Kagami ducks underneath the tape, pulling her comparatively smaller suitcase with her. The three walk together asking each other how packing was, Kagami cast them an unsurprised look when they told her what happened, omitting a few details.
“Can’t you use the first class line,” Marinette asks, as they reached the back of the check in queue.
“I was here before Madame Bustier, she insisted we stand together in line so the others could find us and not get confused, many joined us late,” Anyone could hear the venom in her voice at the hypocrisy.
“Don’t worry about it,” Marion tells her, “We wouldn’t have cut in anyway, it’d be rude to the people behind us,”
Marinette nods scanning the people around them.
“Adrien is over there,” Kagami tells her, Marinette blushes but looks to where she's pointing.
Adrien was talking with Nathalie, there was no luggage around them. They watch as Nathalie leave, an outsider wouldn’t be able to guess they knew each other. Adrien looks around, probably for the class, but saw Marinette waving instead and waves back.
“Hi,” He smiles a smile that could almost beat the twins pure sunshine. They do their greetings, or Kagami and Marion do, Marinette babbles nonsense.
“Did you already check in?” Marion asks.
“Yeah, but I’d rather stand in line with you,” Adrien smiles, no one but Marinette missing how he glances at her.
“So where's Gorilla?” Marion shuffles forward with the line a bit.
“MDC and MCD specifically requested that he go with them on their tour of America, so-”
“That means you're free to do whatever the check you want,” Marion finishes, giving his shoulder a light punch.
“Yeah- did you just sensor ‘heck’?” Adrien puzzles.
*gasp*”Watch your mouth Agreste,” Marion mocks, a smile giving him away. They both smile knowing full well that Gorilla wouldn't be guarding anyone until the end of the class trip, so would have lots of free time for a mini vacation.
“You’re Father is an irrational man, insisting on a bodyguard to everywhere but one of the most dangerous cities in the world,” Kagami says bluntly, Marinette cringes as Adrien's face falls.
“That's because he knows you’re going to be there, Gotham should be very afraid,” Marinette tries to cover up, making Adrien smile slightly.
“Plus a bodyguard signals someone worth something, probably better to have a Kagami,” Marion helps along. Kagami seems to find this acceptable, given that she tries to hide her blush, and drops the topic.
They continue chatting about what they were most excited for in Gotham. Marinette mentions that she was dying to see the botanical gardens, Marion could almost hear the cogs in Adrien's brain turning. A familiar voice interrupts yelling across the busy airport.
“Chloe we’re over here,” Adrien waves his arms for the blonde looking around.
She turns and waves back. Marinette is surprised to see she was carrying just one suitcase, but understands as her butler follows with several more.
“You’re going to be over the limit,” Kagami simply states as Chloe pushes her way to them, not seeing or ignoring the irritated people around.
“So what?” Chloe asks, as he suitcases are placed around her.
Kagami looks like she was about to continue, but stops as Adrien just placed a hand on her shoulder and shakes his head. She sighs and ignores Chloe's smug look, everyone knew that argument would go nowhere.
Adrien and Marion both happily greet her. Kagami and Marinette, less enthusiastic but still friendly. Chloe starts on a tangent about how she was stuck on what outfit to wear on the plane, because it had to be comfortable but also had to be fabulous enough to be her introduction to America. Marinette at least had to admit she was good at filling silence.
They make their way slowly to the front of the line. Luckily with minimal complaining from Chloe, who they distracted each time she got restless, with questions about her of course.
When they reach the front of the line Adrien stands to the side while they checked in. The only one who runs into problems was Chloe who predictably had to pay a fee for more bags, and overweight bags. Marinette fears how it will be coming back.
After they’re all checked in, they find the rest of the class waiting by the security, sitting down on the chairs around. They ignore Lila's comments about them taking too long while Madame Bustier does a headcount.
“Ok, now that everyones here I would like to remind you all that this trip is a great honour granted to us by the Wayne Foundation and I expect you all to be on your best behaviour. Now Gotham can be quite dangerous so it is important you all stay close and don’t go wandering off without telling me…” The speech goes on awhile longer before they were allowed to get in line for airport security.
“I’m telling you Chloe they will make you take it off, just do it now so you don't hold up the line,” Marinette reasons, as they shuffle forward after the rest of the class.
“Believe me once they see how fabulous I look, they won't,”
“That’s not how it works,” Marinette bites out.
“Rules were made to be broken,” Chloe dismisses, looking at her nails.
“This is airport security,” Marinette is close to tearing her hair out. Seeing this Kagami sends Chloe a death glare over Marinette's shoulder.
“Fine,” The blonde huffs out, reaching up to unclasp her necklace.
“Oh I’m just not sure,” Lila pouts much louder than needed. “The plane could make my tinnitus so much worse,”
“Excuse me Lila but didn’t you say Ladybug cured your tinnitus?” Max asks, holding his pile of technology that has to be scanned separately.
“Well I didn’t want to mention it but it came back a while ago, I guess the cure was only temporary,” Lila covers for herself.
“Oh dear,” Rose says with unfortunately genuine concern. “I wish you’d have told us we could have helped,”
Alya, Sabrina, Mylene, Kim, Juleka and Ivan all nod or voice their agreement.
“Oh you guys that's so sweet, I’m sorry I just didn’t want to bother you,” Lila says, queuing up her fake tears.
“Don’t worry about it girl, you could never bother us,” Alya assures, giving Lila a hug. Lila's victorious smirk would have been directed at Marinette if Kagami wasn't blocking her.
As they get closer to the check Marinette and Marion send their Kwamis off with their miraculous quietly. Marion pretending to put his glasses in his bag. They get through the check fine until Chloe... surprisingly doesn't set off the alarm, but that doesn't stop security from pulling her aside to check her bags after noticing some concerning items.
“Well yeah, who doesn't take hairspray on a plane?” Chloe challenges the tired looking security guard.
“This could take awhile,” Marinette whispers to the group who nod in agreement. The class had already gone ahead, Madame Bustier telling them to be at the gate at least twenty minutes before boarding.
They need to look for their Kwamis. They left Chloe to argue with the guard, telling her they would be at duty free just up ahead.
They pursue through the duty free, which teenagers doing might seem strange. They can't call out with Kagami and Adrien so close. Marion spots the candy section, tugging on Marinette's sleeve.
Marinette sighs knowing Tikki will definitely be there. The two sped off leaving Kagami and Adrien wandering behind. There was a kid there looking at the candy, but went running off when their parents called them.
“Tikki,” Marinette whispers, searching through the blocks of chocolate.
“Down here,” Plagg answers instead. The twins bend down, yelping when their heads knock together. Rubbing their heads they saw Tikki hugging a giant Toblerone block like the Kwami's life depended on it. Plagg was off to the side looking pouty, Kaalki looks indifferent. They fly over to Marion who slid his ring back and glasses back on as his Kwamis hide.
“Tikki let’s go,” Marinette whispers, Marion standing to look at the other chocolate.
“No,” Tikki said stubbornly, as Marinette puts on her earrings.
“Why can’t I find a block of camembert that big,” Marinette hears Plagg whine to Marion.
“Comeon Tikki, please,” Marinette begs, trying to tug the block away.
“Because no one but you would eat it,” Marion tells Plagg.
“I’ve never seen one this big before,” Tikki whispers with stars practically dancing in her eyes.
“Exactly it's perfect,” Plagg gushes, Marinette could feel the eye roll.
“Plleeeeeeeeaassssse?” Tikki gives Marinette the biggest baby doll eyes the small Kwami could manage, this was a losing battle.
“Every time,” Marinette sighs, picking up the large block. Tikki cheers flying into her purse.
She goes to the counter to reluctantly pay for the block. Then joins Marion where he was now standing with Kagami and Adrien.
As Marinette walks over Adrien's eyes practically light up at the sight of the giant Toblerone block. Marinette had already opened it, slipping a piece to Tiki. She sees the awe on Adrien's face.
“Um, would, would you like some?” Marinette asks, blushing at her stammering.
“Can I?” Adrien wonders, as if she is offering him some sort of treasure.
“Of course!” Marinette exclaims, breaking him off a piece immediately, smiling brightly.
Adrien starts to blush at her smile, then combusts as she hands over the piece, their fingers accidentally brushing. He fumbles trying not to drop the piece.
“Thank you so much,” Adrien smiles and Marinette might be clinically dead.
“Sorry-I mean thank you- I mean good-I,” Marinette stutters.
Both Marion and Kagami smirking. Marion notices Kagami looking a little jealousy at the block, but both are unwilling to interrupt(or save Marinette) from this little scene. So he sneaks off and buys another block, breaking off a piece and handing it to her. Kagami looks surprised, then smiles, accepting it with a thank you as they both watch the two blushing disasters. Marinette notices Marion holding another block and looks confused.
“You could have asked,” Marinette offers, holding out her block.
“But then I would be left without a weapon, engard!” Marion shouts, dropping into a not-at-all-correct fencing pose. Marinette catches on, hitting her block against his as fake swords.
The two are left pretending to be bad at swordplay, much to the amusement of the actual fencers. They ‘fight’ to a more open area away from the duty free, into a corner viewing the security check. Chloe casts them a confused look before rolling her eyes at their antics. When Marinette boinks Marion on the head he over dramatically collapses with a gasp.
“Adrien-A-Adrien are you there,” Marion reaches out blindly.
“I-I’m here,” Adrien drops down to his knees, clasping Marion's hand.
“Adrien, Adrien listen… no matter what… you must avenge me,” Marion gasps out, while Marinette is trying not to deflate into giggles.
“I-I don’t know if I can,” Adrien cries.
“You can, I know you can… I… believe…. In………. You……………. Blegh,” Marion sticks his tongue out, the universal sign of being dead.
“NooooooOOOOOooooooooOOOooooo,” Adrien yells, except not really because this is an airport and that would be rude so he whispers. At that Marinette starts crackling with laughter, no longer being able to hold it in.
“You think this is funny you-you monster,” Adrien bellows, as dramatic as possible, picking up the Toblerone. Marinette can’t answer as she just starts laughing harder.
Adrien ‘lunges’ at her, pretending to miss as Marinette tries to dodge through her laughter. The two keep ‘fighting’ every time Marinette starts to recover; she just breaks out into more giggles.
“You should probably get off the floor, it’s dirty,” Kagami tells Marion, who is still playing the part and not at all calling out ‘avenge me’ every ten seconds to make Marinette start giggling again.
“Oh shine your right,” Marion scrambles to stand up.
“Oh no a zombie,” Kagami says, montone, but Marion can tell she's trying.
“Brrrrains,” Marion groans out, making Kagami's lip twitch.
“At last!” Adrien calls out in victory, holding his ‘sword’ over Marinette who has completely cracked up and is curled over on the floor “I have defeated you,”
“Not so fast,” Kagami interjects picking up Marinette's dropped block, “I challenge you for the life of this mortal,”
“Oh great one,” Adrien calls, Marion doubts even he knows what he's talking about. “I must slay them to avenge my fallen brethren,”
“Thats me!” Marion exclaims, too happily for a guy that just died. Marinette starts laughing harder, Marion is concerned she's not breathing.
“You will have to defeat me first,” Kagami lunges at Adrien with the actual skill of an accomplished fencer.
Marion watched the two in awe as they somehow manage to make fencing with Toblerone blocks look cool. Marion walks over to Marinette, who is still laughing.
“You ok?” He asks, causing Marinette to start laughing harder. “Right got it,”
Marion sits down and rubs her back to help her calm down as she takes gasping breaths. Breathing out how her ribs hurt through the laughter. She starts to calm down into smaller giggles and sits up with Marion to watch the two fencers. They had even managed to draw the attention of some people around them, mostly the bored people waiting in line.
They both start getting more intense. Adrien lunges just a little too forcefully and the silver covered chocolate goes flying out the cardboard across the room. That is officially too much as the twins start howling with laughter. Adrien is frozen for a moment before he doubles over with laughter. Kagami even joins in, quietly chuckling. There are some people around them who are either laughing or smiling with them.
Once Adrien calms down a little he walks over to where the chocolate flew. Someone who had witnessed the 'fight' had picks up and hands it to the laughing boy as he comes over, chuckling themselves. They all gather to sit together and calm down their laughter. They try to keep quiet by each time someone starts to giggle again they all break down laughing. It takes some time but they all calm down.
“Sorry about that,” Adrien says, handing the chocolate back to Marion.
“Don’t ever apologise for something that makes us laugh that hard,” Marion smiles back, then descends into another bout of giggles,
They wait for Chloe a little longer until Kagami gets impatient. She marches over to where Chloe is still ‘talking’ with the guard. The others can’t hear what she says, but she pushes the pile of unauthorised stuff to the guard, closes Chloe's bag, and drags her away in little under thirty seconds.
“I really liked that nail polish,” Chloe pouts as they walk over to the others, who are grabbing their bags.
“Why would you bring it in carryon?” Kagami takes her bag from Marinette.
“I wanted to paint them on the plane,” Chloe looks at her nails sadly.
“Chloe you had ten vials!” Kagami accuses, as they started to walk.
“I couldn't decide which color,” Chloe pouts as they walk through duty free.
“They were the same color,”
“No they weren't! You take that back!” Chloe shouts, outraged.
“No,” Kagami states calmly, as they leave duty free.
“First of all how dare you I had canary, lemon, dandelion, honey-” Chloe starts counting out on her unpainted fingers.
“Those are all yellow,” Kagami fumes.
“They’re actually very different,” Marinette interjects, Kagami giving her a look of betrayal, but the girl is a fashion designer, what can you do?
“See? Marinette gets it, why can’t you?” Chloe asks, throwing out her hands.
“Why do I have to ‘get’ anything?”
“Because it's important to me,” Chloe sniffs, turning away.
“And why would I care?”
“Because- Oh my God look at those sunglasses!” Chloe cuts in front of Kagami to look at the pair on display in one of the airport’s shops. The group follow, still having plenty of time before they had to be at the gate.
“I like this pair,” Chloe says, looking at herself in the mirror.
“But this pair's shape suits your face shape much better,” Marinette hands Chloe another pair that she swapped over.
“Hmmmm, you’re right, what do you think Kagami,” Chloe poses for the girl.
“I don’t care either way,” Kagami answers truthfully.
“Hmph,” Chloe turns back around to admire her reflection.
“We are going to Gotham, I don’t think they get a lot of sun there,” Adrien pipes up, wearing a pair Chloe insisted he try.
“Doesn’t need to be sunny to look fabulous Adrien,” Chloe places another pair on his head.
“Is that the only word you know?” Kagami mutters.
“What was that?” Chloe asked, eyes narrowing.
“Nothing” Kagami answers shortly.
“How about we exchange some money?” Marinette suggests, cutting Chloe's comeback off.
“I don’t need to, I have a credit card,” Chloe says, flaunting her purse.
“It's always good to have some on hand,” Marinette plucks the glasses off her head and puts them back on the stand as Marion guides the protesting blonde away.
They exchange the cash, Marinette and Marion having to prevent Chloe from exchanging more than was actually necessary. They tuck it safely in their respective wallets letting their Kwamis watch over it.
They decide to get some food, Marinette and Marion immediately giving way to Adrien's excitement over eating Mcdonalds. Chloe refuses to go near the fast food place, and Kagami also refuses. So Chloe ends up dragging Kagami to look at more shops.
They take their food to an empty table. Adrien having a pile of food while the twins have a burger each and fries to fight over, not that they would have it any other way. Marinette watches completely spellbound at Adrien's simple excitement as he tried all the junk food. She vows to herself that she would take him everywhere in Gotham that sold something deep fried. Marion was slightly scared Gabriel would kill them after this trip, but it would definitely be worth it.
Marion decides to scroll through MCD’s social media before he has to turn his phone off. Marion smiles to himself at all the people in Gotham excited about his upcoming concert. He would be using the newly adapted outfits of all Gotham’s heroes that Marinette had finished weeks prior. It would be a nice surprise as everyone thought he was just going to wear the ones they already made.
“Hey Nette, do you think we can hold a meet and greet in Gotham?” He whispers so Adrien can’t hear. Although it is doubtful he would be able as he slips into a food coma, refusing to stop.
“Mmmmhmmm,” Marinette hums, as she keeps looking at Adrien with heart eyes.
Marion shrugs and sends their manager a quick email. She was a friend of Penny’s who had helped them out ever since they were small-time, despite being skilled enough to get jobs with much bigger celebrities. He gets an email back almost immediately telling him it would be hard to set up but she would try.
They spend as much time as possible away from the gate. Adrien had gotten a stomach ache and Marinette was rubbing his back as he groaned into the table. Marion offered the untouched food to surrounding people. Pointing to Adrien as he explains. Most people laughed and accept the food with thanks. Marion was glad he had a friendly disposition, he somehow doubted people would take the same food from Chloe.
Kagami and Chloe eventually come back. Kagami seemingly defeated, helping Chloe carry some bags. Marion smiles at the two but knows better than to say anything. Chloe sees Adrien's state and starts ranting, in her own caring way.
“Just the sight of that stuff is enough to make me sick, imagine what actually eating it does to you, oh, I don’t have to because you’re demonstrating that quite well,” Chloe gestures wildly.
“I think it’s more the volume that's the issue here,” Marion placates.
“Peasant food,” Chloe sneers, Marion smirks at her and they both start giggling.
“Oh that reminds me,” Chloe says, pulling out her phone still giggling. “I was filming your little scene,”
Marion shifts closer to Chloe, Kagami and Marinette watching over their shoulders. They don’t have audio but they see Marion as he dramatically falls down, causing Marinette to start giggling. They all start laughing as the chocolate goes flying out the wrapper, the angle showing just how far it went.
“Send me that,” Marion giggles, under 5 seconds later his phone beeped, “Witchcraft,” He whispers.
“You better believe it,” Chloe smirks.
“We should head to the gate,” Kagami was looking at the time on Chloe's phone screen. “Adrien can you move?”
Adrien groaned into the table, which probably meant ‘of course I’m raring to go!’.
“There's barf bags on the plane,” Marinette supplies, in what was trying to be helpfully. It likely just made Adrien die inside at the fact that Marinette had now envisioned him puking.
They manage to pry Adrien off the table. Making their way to the gate where the rest of the class was. Most of the class are sitting together, besides Max, Nathaniel and Alix who all sit alone. Well Max did have Markov.
Lila is concocting some story about the heroes from Young Justice fighting over her last time she was in America.
“Oh wow, maybe you can introduce me, I’m dying to get some interviews for my blog,” Alya babbles.
“Maybe, I’m just worried they’ll be fawning over me instead of paying attention to you,”
They walk right past the group and go towards the window. They settle down for the remaining wait looking out at the planes flying in and out. Marion and Marinette point out each time a new plane is arriving or departing. They watch with interest as smaller vehicles dart around the large plane delivering luggage and fuel. Kagami gladly listens to the twins chatter. Adrien is just glad to be looking out the window. Chloe is trying to savour her last moments with her phone.

Heres a bad comic

August Overview
Monthly Drama Review: August 2018 Jan - Feb - Mar - Apr - May - Jun - Jul -
warning spoilers!
Completed:
Goodbye to Goodbye: I liked the show a lot in the beginning, but it kind of watered down by the end. I liked the very last episode though, it brought the whole family together. Because of Jung Hyo, I think every character was able to learn a little something. The only thing I wished happened was the writers showing how much Min Soo loved Jung Hyo from the beginning. I mean this man was so ready to break up with her. He was even in the process of dating another woman when Jung Hyo revealed that she was pregnant to him, so it still feels like to me that he only chose to stay with Jung Hyo because of the baby.
Are You Human Too?: I usually can’t stand dramas that have a robot x human romance so the fact that I actually finished this and thoroughly enjoyed it was quite a surprise. I have always liked Seo Kang Joon, but he really outdid himself with this role. It really felt as if Nam Shin and Nam Shin III were played by different actors. The cinematography was also super amazing, one of the best I have seen! As for the plot itself, like I said I could care less about robot x human romance, but I can’t say I wasn’t hooked on all the politics and craziness happening around Nam Shin’s family. I kind of wish that human Nam Shin had a better redemption arc, you know before his mother passed away, because he really did live a hard life as said in last month’s review. Overall, the drama outdid my expectations and I’m glad I watched it.
Your House Helper: One of the best dramas I have ever watched. They really just took all the stereotypes and broke them all. I still can’t believe they had an openly gay character too, thank you Korea. I heard people say that the main lead has no chemistry, but I liked it. It was simple and cute, fitting for both of them. Dayoung’s friends and their s/o though! Amazing, give me more characters and relationships like them. All in all, an extremely cute friendship and romantic drama that really allows you to understand societal roles and such.
Kimi ga Kokoro ni Sumishita: The english subtitles weren’t up, so I finished watching it raw. It was a good short psychological drama. All I wanted was Kyoko to get some help in order to escape Ren’s pull. Ren obviously is suffering from a mental health issue as well, but still seeing Kyoko getting used by him was definitely something.
Ongoing:
Time: I’ve said it before, but I’m gonna say it again. Seohyun’s acting has improved so much. The whole cast is amazing. I was one of the people who was kind of thrown off by the press conference video, but Kim Jung Hyun’s acting is so great. You can tell he was totally immersed into his character. However, that probably took a toll into his mental health. I’m not that sad about him leaving because its for his health. Also I’m excited to see how Seohyun’s character drives the show alone.
Your Honor: My favorite airing show right now!  I’m so spoiled, I wasn’t used to having only one episode a week TT  I wish I could just binge watch the whole thing instead of waiting weekly. The chemistry between the two leads are amazing. I can’t wait for the truth to be revealed, but then I also like the pacing of the drama.
Familiar Wife: Idk man, I’m just waiting till Woo Jin regains her memory and beats Joo Hyuk up for erasing their kids because he wanted to play his video game in peace LOL. But I don’t necessarily think him going back in time and changing the future is an entirely bad thing though. He’s  learning new things about his wife and understanding her more which would never happen if they stayed in the original timeline. It just sucks that it’s just Joo Hyuk is the only one in the relationship experiencing this. It takes two to tango.
Lovely Horribly: This drama is so funny! Song Ji Hyo is a gem. I feel so bad for her character though. Can you imagine living a life like that and everything just goes wrong for you. I can’t wait for the relationship to develop between the main leads. Get Gi Kwang a main role next drama pls.
Dropped:
Hide & Seek: It didn’t look interesting to me and I feel like I have enough dramas I’m watching.
Upcoming:
Miss Ma: The synopsis is short but to the point, I think I might like this depending on who is casted for the female lead.
Room No. 9: The plot and characters of this story seem to be interesting. I am definitely watching this one.
The Smile Has Left Your Eyes: Definitely checking this one out. I love both Seo In Guk and Jung So Min’s acting skills and the teasers look amazing!
The Third Charm: Okay so I love Seo Kang Joon, but the synopsis itself isn’t captivating enough.
Devilish Joy: This seems way to angsty for me to handle, but who knows.
My Only One: I’m kind of tired of financial struggle being the theme of every drama, so probably will not watch.
The Player: The synopsis isn’t really interesting, but I rarely see the f(x) members doing much anymore with like the exception of probably Amber (give us a comeback SM) so I gotta watch this for Krystal.
The Guest: I probably won’t watch.
The Beauty Inside: ^^

Daminette - All The Kings’ Horses
Warning: This one-shot includes abuse, harassment, rape, child neglect meant, suicidal thoughts, and cursing. Read at your own risk!
Lila had done it. She had taken away all her friends. She no longer had any support from her parents either. Only her Grandma Gina, Grandpa Roland, Uncle Cheng, Jagged, Penny, and Clara loved or cared for her. But they had their own life to fulfill. They didn’t have the time to take care of a little nobody. But, what hurt Marinette the most was her parents’ betrayal. They knew and raised her for 16 years. Then, someone they had never met told them some petty lies and instead of believing their daughter, they believed a stranger.
I knock the ice from my bones Try not to feel the cold
She felt so numb. Now at the age of 17 almost 18, Lila had taken away her classmates 4 years ago, took away even her closest childhood friends 3 years ago, and had finally taken away her parents 2 years ago. She had no one left. She had no will to live. Yet, she endured it. Why? She doesn’t know herself. She prevailed through the words that were slamming around in her head, spoken by her classmates, “Bully, dumb, slut, attention-seeker, bitch, a fucking nobody.” She bore her parents’ words, “I can’t believe we gave birth to you, we should have given you away when you were a kid, what did we deserve you, you are such a bitchy, fucking daughter.” She ignored the beatings, the abuse she survived every day. At first, it started with her classmates taking away her things and destroying them. Then, it was kicking, punching, slapping, tripping. It finally escalated to stabbings and shootings. 9 months ago her parents started abusing her as well as purposefully neglecting her. The final thread snapped when they got Adrien to come and rape her as a way to set her straight.
All the king’s horses and all the king’s men
Couldn’t put me back together again
That’s when she decided to leave, run away. Her being raped was the final straw. She was suffering for no reason. Hawkmoth and Mayura had been defeated, there was nothing left for her in Paris anyways. She was close to breaking. She needed to get away from Paris before she decided to end her misery once and for all. There was no one coming to save her, she might as well save herself. So, she made a plan with the kwamis. She found a city where she could easily disappear in, she chose Gotham. She got in contact with Jagged and asked him to enroll her in Gotham Academy without telling her parents. Using her commission money from MDC and Netti, she got an apartment in Gotham. Glancing at the date, she realized that her parents wouldn’t be letting her out of her room for another week. So, she took that week to transport all of her belongings to her new apartment using the horse miraculous. On the day of, she looked around the room, reminiscing in the good memories that she had of the room and said a final goodbye, shutting the portal from her room and her old life.
Run with my hands on my eyes
Blind, but I’m still alive
She had made it. She had let go of the past and was walking into the future… well mostly. After her experiences in her old class, Marinette became a lot more hostile and guarded. She never talked in class, never brought attention to herself, and never displayed any emotions. People categorized her with another boy. Damian if she remembered correctly. He seemed to be as guarded as she was. But, instead, it developed a mutual respect for each other. Sure, Damian was still cautious of her, but during class and lunch, they would sit together in the back or in a little corner and would relish in the silence. Neither made an effort to get to know the other and they both appreciated it.
Free to go back on my own
Is it still a home
When you’re all alone?
Everything was okay for Marinette until the partner project her teacher assigned her. Thankfully, it was Damian, but she had to go to his house. She was awed by the sight of the manor and told him so, he just smiled lightly, in fact, it couldn’t be called a smile and walked in with her. None of the other family members were present at the moment except for Alfred Pennyworth the butler. She quietly introduced herself and Damian then dragged her upstairs to his room. Once the completed the project, it was dinner time and all the other family members had arrived. They insisted that she join them for dinner, not wanting to seem rude she agreed. They tried to get to know Marinette as much as possible. She answered all of their questions, but anyone could see how reserved she was. Then Jason asked a question that set her off, “Before you moved to Gotham where was your home?” She looked to be having a panic attack before saying, “Paris” and then muttering, “It is still home if you’re all alone?” This made all of the Waynes suspicious and concerned. They left the topic alone and continued on with their dinner, since that day Marinette and the Waynes started getting closer. They were all like her brother and Bruce like her father, except for Damian. She liked Damian, but didn’t want to in fear of having a repeat of Adrien, she vowed to never tell Damian. She lived by that vow until she got some news.
All the king’s horses and all the king’s men
Couldn’t put me back together again
All the king’s horses and all the king’s men
Couldn’t put me back together again
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Marinette was scrolling through her Instagram when her eye caught the name Alya Cesaire, she looked at the post and started hyperventilating. They were coming to Gotham in a month, they were going to see her, her parents were the chaperones. She didn’t know what she was doing, but she climbed onto her motorcycle and rode to Wayne Manor. She reached the Manor and threw off her helmet ringing the doorbell. When Alfred answered she started screaming, sobbing for Damian, “ALFRED, I NEED DAMIAN, I NEED HIM, PLEASE ALFRED BRING ME TO HIM!” hysteria clear in her voice. She needed him, she needed him to console her. Alfred quickly carried her inside once she collapsed from begging. He brought her to the family room where everyone was present. Marinette could discern all the eyes on her, but none of them counted except for the emerald eyes that softened once they examined at her. She clambered into his lap and continued sobbing and blabbering incoherent gibberish.
After about an hour once she quieted down she noticed the questioning, calculating, and compassionate eyes around her. She acknowledged that she wasn’t going to get out of an explanation and so sighed and told her story. What happened once Lila arrived, how everyone she knew reacted, and what prompted her to come to Gotham. By the end of her explanation, everyone was shaking with apparent fury. Jason then shouted, “I’M GOING TO KILL THAT FUCKING BITCH, YOUR PARENTS, AND THAT GUY WHO RAPED YOU! HOW DARE THEY TOUCH MY LITTLE SISTER!?” Everyone agreed, getting everything ready to plan a murderer and get away with it. Damian saw the anguish in Marinette’s eyes and told everyone to calm down, taking Marinette to his room. On the way, they heard a shout, “REMEMBER TO LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN!” They both flushed, Marinette ducking her head down.
Once they reached his room they sat down on the bed, Marinette avoiding his gaze. “Hey look at me”, he softly said. She looked up at him. “Why did you ask for me, why not Todd or Grayson?”
She blushed and looked at him. “I-I kinda have a crush on you a-and y-y-you don’t have to like me, I think I’m unlikable, w-wait no that’s not what I meant mmph”, her rambling was cut short by Damian pressing his lips to her incredibly soft ones. She melted into the kiss and deepened it, both of them moving their lips in sync. The kiss wasn’t hot or heavy, it was slow, loving, but also semi-passionate. It didn’t feel like fireworks, rather like a warm, homey fire along with a comforting spark. She moved her hands to his hair and tugged and he grabbed her waist pulling her even closer. They pulled away and stared into each other’s eyes, enjoying the moment.
He cleared his throat and stammered out, “Would you be willing to join me on a date?” She smiled and pecked his lips, “Yeah.” Three dates later and they were officially dating.
All the king’s horses and all the king’s men
Couldn’t put me back together again
All the king’s horses and all the king’s men
Couldn’t put me back together again
It was the day of the arrival of Marinette’s old class and she would be lying if she said that she wasn’t nervous. She wouldn’t be giving them any tours, thank god, but they would be going to Gotham Academy which meant that she would be seeing them. Just as expected later that week, they caught sight of her in Gotham Academy. The first thing they all did… they bullied her. Worse than ever before, asking why she left, she was their favorite little plaything after all. She tried her best to ignore it, but it was becoming all too much.
She rushed out of the classroom with Damian chasing behind her. She was having a panic attack, the weight of seeing everyone along with the memories was too much for her. She rushed to a bridge that she could jump off of to end her misery, but Damian caught her by the waist. He hugged her and mumbled reassurances into her hair. After a little bit, she calmed and saw Damian watching her, “Marinette, I love you and you have to stay on this Earth, please. Don’t listen to them. You are having a concert as Netti later tonight, sing your newest song, and reveal yourself. Tell your side of the story. I will be by your side every step of the way.” He gave her a tender smile and pulled her into a kiss that had Marinette forget all of her worries for now. Later that night as Netti, she got on the stage and started singing her newest song, All the Kings’ Horses.
(Play this song if you want to follow along with the lyrics)
I knock the ice from my bones
Try not to feel the cold
All the king’s horses and all the king’s men
Couldn’t put me back together again
Run with my hands on my eyes
Blind, but I’m still alive
Free to go back on my own
Is it still a home
When you’re all alone?
All the king’s horses and all the king’s men
Couldn’t put me back together again
All the king’s horses and all the king’s men
Couldn’t put me back together again
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh
All the king’s horses and all the king’s men
Couldn’t put me back together again
All the king’s horses and all the king’s men
Couldn’t put me back together again
Oh, oh
Couldn’t put me back together again
Oh, oh
Couldn’t put me back together again
She poured all of her emotions into the lyrics. It described her life perfectly and she sang it with all the despair and hurt she felt every single day when she was in Paris. This wasn’t just a song, no, this was the cry of a broken girl, who was slowly healing, a girl who couldn’t be put back together again, but she could try. By the last note, she pulled off her mask and heard the gasps of her classmates and parents, she saw tears in everyone’s eyes, disappointment in Adrien’s eyes, jealousy in Lila’s eyes, but most importantly the pride in Damian’s eyes.
She brought her mike back up and told her story, “This song was inspired by my own experiences. I had a great life, but then a girl came and took away everything that was mine and made me lonely in my own home. No one believed me, so I came to Gotham. I met my boyfriend Damian Wayne, he’s helping me heal little by little every day. I may not be able to be put back together again completely, but I’m going to try and Damian will be there to help me every step of the way. Thank you and good night, Gotham!”
Oh, oh
Couldn’t put me back together again
Oh, oh
Couldn’t put me back together again
After the reveal, everyone tried to be her friend again, her parents tried to apologize to her. She didn’t forgive anyone of them. They had to own up to their mistakes and see the consequences of believing a stranger over her. Two years after the reveal Damian proposed and they were married a year later, her Grandpa Roland and Bruce walked her down the aisle. Jon Kent was Damian’s best man and Dick, Tim, and Jason were groomsmen/ bridesmaids. Marinette and Damian said their vows. And as they kissed as husband and wife the one thing that crossed Marinette’s mind was that even though all the kings’ horses and all the kings’ men couldn’t put her back together again, her King Damian Wayne most certainly could.

You Are My Sunshine
Note: I never thought I would write something that is over 4000 words again, but here we are. This is loosely based on the @coralloverwinnerwolf suggestion request that they had asked me.
“With the signing of these documents, Gabriel Agreste you no longer have the sole custody of your son Adrien Agreste. Adrian, you will officially be under the care of Mme. Cheng and M. Dupain.” The CPS member states pushing a formal document across the table. Gabriel Agreste was reluctant to sign but the piling evidence against him in light of Adrien’s rebellion stage leads him to believe there was no other choice. Tom and Sabine were ecstatic to take in Adrien. He’s a sweet boy that deserves the world and for the past month has made their home feel more like a home as Marinette now had a brother.
Originally, the CPS wanted Adrien to be sent to his Aunt in England but once taking into consideration that Adrien wasn’t as close, M. Agreste would do anything to keep his son in Paris, and the fact that Adrien himself made himself a home within the Dupain-Cheng household, it was easier to move custody rights to the Dupain-Cheng once proven how happier the teen had become. There was no need for a court appearance, just a small investigation that thankfully went under the media’s noses.
As of today, Adrien no longer carries the Agreste sir name as it was now Dupain-Cheng.
Adrien was ecstatic upon returning to the newest bakery location the Dupain-Cheng had moved into after deciding to expand their business once the two teens had graduated from college. Lycée was the perfect time to start over and forget their last two years of unhappiness. Though there were a few good things that came from their time in college. At Sabine’s suggestion, Adrien and Marinette had joined a foreign pen-pal program, and through that program, Adrien had met Jonathon “Jon” Kent, who was quickly taking Nino’s place as his best friend.
“Jon, I want you to be the first to know,” Adrien says as soon as his call was accepted. It wasn’t unusual that the Kent teen would be up at these times considering their time difference. Jon now wide-awake pushes for Adrien to continue. “I’m officially a Dupain-Cheng!” The former Agreste heir squeals with excitement. Jon squeals in excitement along with the former model but his were for on the hushed end.
“That amazing, Tigger. Was the process easy? Is Mars happy about you being her brother now?” Immediately Jon goes into a series of questions and concerns. Adrien couldn’t help but smile at the dark-haired teen on the other side of his screen.
“Mars is happy for me. We’re supposed to be taking family photos latter today to officiate it. You’ll probably be hearing Damian complaining about Mars once it's all said and done.” Adrien’s smile could brighten the world now that the looming fear of his father’s disappointment is no longer a concern of his.
“That’s good—” Jon looks off to the side. A flash of light passes by before a sigh of relief exits from the teen’s mouth. “Send me some of those photos once they’re ready.”
“I will.” Realization slowly began to dawn on the blonde, “Kwami. I forgot how late it is where you are? Want to finish this discussion later?” A small pout appears on Adrien's lips that Jon cannot help but internally squeal about.
After saying goodbye (or at the very least good night) to Jon, Adrien decided that maybe it was time to become the pestering brother Marinette always wanted.
“Hey buggy,” Adrien sings entering Marinette’s room that was smaller than the one at the other bakery.
Marinette didn’t mind turning her old bedroom into her studio after the move was completed. In fact, it worked out in her favor as it kept the work away from her when she needed downtime. The bakery across Françoise Dupont quickly became a hideout for the Miraculous Team and the location for Marinette’s MDC studio.
The moment Marinette heard her kittens voice, she immediately closes her laptop and turns her attention to the blonde male. “You need anything kitty?” Tilting her head gives Adrien a sense of security.
“Yeah, we haven’t decided what we’re going to do about Bug and Chat? I know you said something about meeting with Aurore and Mireille and having them do a special about us.”
The only response Adrien received was Marinette’s infamous, rarely used, mischievous smirk. A smirk he knows all to well and would hate to be on the receiving end of it.
Just a day later, Miraculous Out! a Ladybug sponsored website posted a video featuring Ladybug and Chat Noir themselves without the Miraculous Team, a rare sight nowadays. In the video, Ladybug wearing her newest outfit: dark leggings that are covered by a long slit skirt with the black and red polka dot pattern, matching combat boots, and a matching short sleeve turtle neck that is covered by a black motorcycle that ends but above her waist. Chat Noir now wearing leather pants with a muscle shirt that is often covered by a matching jacket with faux fur. His shows just as much as his younger teen version did if not a little more. For Ladybug, Marinette decided to keep her pigtails as her hair grew longer but opted for longer ribbons to be placed in her hair instead.
In the video, Ladybug and Chat Noir drops the biggest bomb to their fans. The iconic Paris duo is no longer just partners but officially brother and sister. That message put a stake through the hearts of LadyNoir shippers and the Ladyblog as it was the one eager for the two to become an item especially after a familiar voice under Lila Rossi predominately says that the two heroes are an item as she’s Ladybug’s best friend.
“For the past few months, Chat and I have been in an internal war with one another about how to announce this to Paris. This was mainly due to the additional attention to the LadyNoir shipping wars that were from the Ladyblog. Chat and I never and will never have any feelings for each other that aren’t platonic.” With that, Ladybug ends her statement and the video goes into its closing cards, basically saying stay tuned for other Miraculous news.
The second the screen turns black; Marinette turns to Adrien with the biggest smile on her face. Now all they need to do was announce that Adrien Agreste is no longer the face of his father’s company. This news was soon to be dropped once the photos from their family photoshoot drop.
The night before Paris is once again reckoned, the mischievous, Damian, and Marinette had a perfect view of seeing how two people can flirt around each other and not get the signs.
Marinette gave Damian for not ending the streaming on his end and taking off while she and Adrien shared a room to chat with their friends. Damian gave Marinette hidden signals on the verge of wanting to kill Jon and Adrien for their stupidity.
“If they don’t start dating in the next couple of hours, I will commit mass genocide,” Damian growls the moment Marinette decided to call him. Marinette laughs it off and smiles despite that he cannot see her, but he knows well enough.
“Let them be, it took us a moment to realize that we liked each other.”
Damian grunts unsure how to proceed. “They better figure this shit out soon.”
Marinette could only shake her head before the continue to talk about other things.
The following morning was great, well it was great until Marinette’s phone begins to blow up with notifications.
Adrien DuPain-Cheng @adrienwhopuns Papers finally approved, meet my new sista from another mother (@marinettewhomemes) [Attached to the tweet is a small collection of photos: (1) Marinette standing beside Adrien wearing tees that says “I’m the sister of a punster” and “I’m the brother of a mememer” (2) Adrien being surrounded by the entire DuPain-Cheng family holding a banner that says “It’s a new DuPain-Cheng” (3) Adrien pretending to pose as Marinette looks like a deer caught in the headlights behind him]
Marinette turns to her brother with a look of betrayal plastered against her face. Adrien didn’t have the decency to tell her about the handle change. There was no warning! No wonder Adrien had his phone on silent. Realizing that her phone will not shut up, Marinette turns off notification and narrows her eyes.
Nette from Mars @marinettewhomemes Replying to @adrienwhopuns Proud to call you my brother, you doof just try not to take over my room. #nolongeranonlychild #howmusthebeolder #punsvsmemes
This time Adrien looks up and narrows his eyes at Marinette. They were only a chair apart as it was a beautiful Saturday morning for the Dupain-Cheng household. Sabine was finishing the final add-ons for the strawberry and crème breakfast puffs.
“What’s going on you two?” Tom asks as he pours the drinks and set the cups down on the table.
“We’re internet famous, and Adri is trending on Twitter.” Marinette states with a deadpan face. Tom nearly makes a mess with the drinks but quickly catches himself.
“That’s good to hear,” Sabine says as she the tray of breakfast puffs over to the table.
Marinette and Adrien look at their mother with skepticism, it wasn’t like Sabine to be completely away from her children, but then again it doesn’t come as a shock. When Sabine and Tom accidentally came across the two teens coming home as their alter egos, nothing really surprises them anymore. That was one of the reasons why they had allowed the Miraculous team to hide out in the home of their other bakery.
Jon Kenting Me @jonnyboykent Replying to @adrienwhopuns I knew these photos were lit but I didn’t expect this!! @marinettewhomemes what were you doing in the background?
Marinette scoffs at Jon’s response to Adrien’s announcement tweet. She knew exactly what photo he was talking about and she doesn’t want to talk about it. Deciding that her breakfast was the best distraction from this ongoing shit show on Twitter, she begins to eat with peace on the mind.
Before Sabine took her seat, she called for the kwamis to join them for breakfast. All but Plagg ate in peace. Plagg wanted some cheese but after being on the receiving end of Mama Cheng’s glare he ate grumbling at every chance he got.
Adrien had finished his breakfast first; it was not because Jon had sent him a series of text messages begging for answers. Marinette watches her brother leave as she finishes her last bite and pulls out her phone.
Nette from Mars @marinettewhomemes Replying to @adrienwhopuns and @jonnyboykent What I do in the image is my business. Call me if you want the deeds.
She knew Jon wasn’t going to call her after posting that to the thread. Jon was probably in the middle of a phone call with Adrien before heading to sleep. Sabine and Tom watch their daughter leave the room with the kwamis trailing behind her, with smiles on their faces. To them, this makes it all worth it.
“Kitty, you coming or what? Luka and the others are ready to go.” Marinette shouts one day from the doorway of the house. She turns to see Luka standing sheepishly with his guitar on his back, Kagami with an eyebrow raises, and Chloe hanging off of Kagami’s arm examining her nails.
“I’m coming sheesh.” Adrien cries back before making himself known. Marinette rolls her eyes and walks out.
Sabine and Tom already in bakery, cannot wait to surprise their kids later this afternoon.
“How are things with you and Damian, Mars?” Kagami asks laying on her girlfriend’s lap as Chloe plays her hair.
Marinette heavily blushes. She and Damian have been dating for about six months after a couple of years of bouncing between each other. They ended up dating because Damian and his brothers ended up taking a private jet to Paris one evening and basically force the two into a closet. They spoke out their feelings and ended up trolling his brothers for a couple of days before announcing their newly made relationship status. Since Marinette isn’t seen in Gotham, the media has yet to link the two together as a couple.
“We’re fine, I’m more worried about kitten over here.” Marinette nudges Adrien’s shoulder who looks offended beyond belief.
“About what? I don’t have a problem.” Adrien counters as Luka plays his guitar.
“Your melody says otherwise.” The older teen states humming the tone to the melody.
“Luka!” Adrien screeches, his face turning red. The group laughs and proceeds to watch the clouds. The wind picks up.
“So how are things with Jon?” Chloe suddenly asks after a moment of silence. Everyone turns to Adrien who tries to look everywhere but at his friends. Marinette could see the rise in red reaching his ears.
“It’s nothing.” Adrien shutters out. The four looks to one another knowing the former blonde model was lying beyond belief.
“Uh huh…” Chloe sings the words out appearing behind the blonde male.
“He’s…” Adrien is stopped by his thoughts. What was Jon to him? A friend? A potential lover? His blush deepens at the thought of that. “He’s… I don’t know what to think.”
“You are in too deep for this,” Kagami states as she too saw what was becoming of her oldest friend. Adrien curls into himself unsure how to feel.
Marinette knows that deep down, Adrien was falling for Jon; however, it did make her wary. Adrien was quick to bond with Jon during the pen-pal program and nearly lost it when the program ended. If it wasn’t for the fact that they had exchanged numbers before the last, she doesn’t know what would have happened to Adrien. They were both going through a tough time when they joined the program. Adrien had a wake up called regarding harassment and learning that the real world wasn’t all fun and games while she, herself, was trying to rediscover the self-confidence that she had lost due to the bullying she had to endure because of Lila Rossi. It took months of therapy and talks with Damian for her to acknowledge that she wasn’t responsible for the person people created of her in their minds, and that was the tea.
Adrien’s wake up call was the reason he began spending more time with her and her family. Her parents say Adrien as the broken, lost boy he was and took him under their wing. Of course, Marinette wouldn’t change what happened for anything in the world.
Then there was an explosion happening in the background. Without speaking, the five split up to transform and regroup once they have all the details.
While Paris has grown used to somewhat daily Akuma attacks, they know how to avoid the fighting areas and proceed with their day. Sabine had left the bakery to go pick up three people from the airport.
Jonathon Kent had to beg his parents to allow him to go to Paris with Damian and Jason. Damian had wanted to surprise Marinette with a visit and Jason, well Jason just wanted fresh baked goods. Jon, on the other hand, just wanted to meet Adrien for the first time in person. For years, the two spoke through video chats, text messages, and twitter threats, but never had they had the chance to meet in-person. When Jon found out that Damian was planning on visiting Mars, he knew he just had to come. Their school wasn’t in session and if anything, really disastrous happens, he could fly back in no time.
“Hello boys,” Sabine greets grabbing their attention. Jason was the first to run over to the small frame woman with the speed that could match a dog.
“Hey, Sabine!” Jason greets back. Sabine narrows her eyes; she knows that Jason wants something, but she couldn’t place her finger on it.
“Hello again, Mrs. Cheng,” Damian adds walking over to his brute of a brother and the mother of his girlfriend.
“Hi, I’m Jon.” Jon gives the older woman his brightest smile.
“I can see why you and Adrien have bonded so easily.” Sabine chuckles lightly to which a blush crosses Jon’s face. Jon could hear the teasing that Jason was whispering to Damian about having a crush and a model, which only farther the blush.
Sabine sends him another smile. “Well, we should get going if we want to surprise Marinette and Adrien.” Clapping her hands, she begins to usher the boys in the direction of her car.
While driving across Paris, Sabine notices the swirls of ladybugs fixing up the city. This once gives her enough time to park, get the boys to settle, and start making dinner all before her children get home.
“Wow, this place is bigger than the last place? What happened?” Jason asks kicking his feet up onto the couch the second they arrived on the second level of the building. Sabine scolds the older male before explaining that with Adrien being added to the household and Marinette’s growing business, their old place was becoming cramp, and now that the two are longer attending Francoise Dupont, they could have to look farther out for a bigger home and bakery all while still owning the other one.
Damian took notice of the new photos hanged up on the walls. Of course, the photos that Adrien had posted on twitter, but along them are photos of a happier Marinette and Adrien acting like siblings. They had even recreated iconic sibling moments from television shows to make It feel real.
“Those two have made our lives so much better, and Sabine and I are glad that our little loaf has met you.” Damian turns to see Tom hovering over him. He had thought his girlfriend’s father was down in the bakery, but he was wrong. Damian wasn’t sure what to say, sure he had met Tom before and have grown used to the tall being, but even he knows when to picks his battles.
“I’m lucky to have her.” Damian states before walking away.
While Damian was already used to the environment of the Dupain-Cheng household, Jon on the other hand was having a dream. His excitement to finally seeing Adrien has finally caught up to him. So, imagine when he jumps off on the couch, nearly flying when the door’s knob begins to jiggle.
Their eyes locked, blue meeting green for the first time outside of a screen. Jon stares agape at Adrien who stares back with the same energy.
Marinette who took notice of the situation sneaks past the two and into the arms of her boyfriend. Jason watches from behind with a bowl of popcorn in hand waiting for the other shoe to drop.
“H-h-how?” Adrien’s voice squeaks before pulling Jon into his arms.
Even though the two are lost within each other’s thoughts they could still hear Jason’s laughter and the smack that follows.
“I practically beg my parents to see you,” Jon answers as just as flustered as Adrien. “Then begged Damian to bring me.” He quickly adds looking away from the blonde.
For a moment the two stay in their own world not noticing the flashes of light and whispers.
Not from afar, Marinette tries not to laugh, her lips purse into a fine line. Damian watches shaking his head and tries to grab some of Jason’s popcorn.
The next day, Adrien ran out of the bakery with Jon right behind him. They were going to visit Andre’s ice cream cart. All under the pretense of being just friends, but all who knew them thought otherwise. Marinette had decided to skip this trip in favor of walking the Seine with Damian then planning on making Jason a new leather jacket. Jason wanted to check out the crime rate in Paris walking around the area.
Adrien DuPain-Cheng @adrienwhopuns Ice cream from Andre is always the best especially now that I’d shared the experience with @jonnyboykent [Attached is a photo of Adrien and Jon holding ice cream cones with matching flavors that are similar to their hair, lip, and eye colors along with other flavors. In the background is Andre waving at the two with a large smile]
Nette from Mars @marinettewhomemes Replying to @adrienwhopuns 🤩Aw… you guys look cute having your outing an all that. How was the ice cream?
Jon Kenting Me @jonnyboykent Replying to @adrienwhopuns and @marinettewhomemes The ice cream was delicious. 10/10 recommend it.
Adrien laughs the moment he looks at their replies. He then turns to Jon, who was on the verge of eating his last scoop of ice cream. Jon, noticing that Adrien is staring at him, blushes lightly before they continue to walk. The walk was peaceful until…
“Adrien!” The two due turns around to see a tall dark-skin teen running towards them. Beyond the teen are two females with varying facial expressions.
“Hey Nino, haven’t heard from you since college graduation.” Adrien murmurs the second Nino had gotten closer to the two. Jon could only watch, clearly intrigued by this new encounter. He had heard much about Nino from Adrien and the downfall of their friendship as the final years of college came to end.
“Yeah dude, I wish we could have hanged out more. But you know how it is.” Nino states rubbing the back of his neck. “Who’s your friend?”
“Nino, this is Jon, he’s a friend of mine and the friend of Mari’s boyfriend that came to visit us.” Jon could feel the tension growing as the two girls come closer. The ombre haired teen, looked like she wanted to yell or hit something awhile the other wearing clashing oranges looks like she is about to commit murder. Upon seeing this, Jon moves closer to Adrien for support.
“That cool, dude, but when were you going to tell me that you and Marinette are siblings? Lila had gotten the whole class thinking you two were a thing.” Unbeknown to Nino, he had just proved the thoughts that Adrien and Marinette have been theorizing since the two had been chosen to go to a different Lycée than the one that most of their former classmates went to.
“Why would Lila even think that? You know what I don’t even want to know.” Adrien says. Subtly, he tightens his around the edge of his shirt. “Mari and I have practically been siblings for a couple of years now, and we’re much happy about that.”
“That’s good to hear, man,” Nino says unsure where this conversation will go. The aspiring DJ could feel the gnawing questions that Alya was soon going to throw at the blonde the moment he is done.
“Sunshine,” Alya explodes in the background to which all three males roll their eyes at. “We haven’t seen you in two years and this is how you treat us. Lila was your ex at the very least say hi to my gurl.”
Jon looks to the reporter as if she had grown a second head. Never once had Adrien mention being in a relationship with the liar, and for the years that he has known Adrien, he’s been single. In fact, the only times Lila even mentions is when she makes an outcry on twitter within Adrien’s threads. Jon knows that when the announcement was made, this Lila person had the biggest voice; commenting questions that Adrien didn’t need or want to answer.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about Alya. I haven’t been in a relationship since I tried it out with Kagami and that was back in college. I’m as single as a pringle and not looking for anyone.” The subtle side-eyed look to Jon said otherwise. Jon could have sworn his face turn red after realizing what the blonde had done.
Alya scoffs, “Yeah right. Lila told me you had done out on dates after we all left Dupont, she even had pictures to prove it.” She then grabs hold of Lila’s wrist and pulls the girl closer to three. Lila batters her eyes, trying to be a flirt, little did she know.
“Alya, anyone can fake a photo, there is a reason Photoshop exists. Knowing Lila, she probably showed you photos from our shoots and changed them. She did it once to Mari, and I have no doubt in mind that she did it again.” Narrowing his eyes, Adrien glance away from Alya and onto Lila.
“C’mon Adrikins,” Jon and Adrien wince at the old nickname Chloe had given the blonde be used by Lila, “We had so many good memories together. As much as I miss them, I’m much happier with my long-distance relationship with Damiboo.” The liar then gushes to which Alya joins in for.
“And who is this Damiboo, you speak of?” Jon asks, speaking for the first time since his day with Adrien was interrupted.
“Oh, it’s Damian Wayne, of course. He’s such a sweetheart. You know, I could introduce you to him sometime.” Adrien and Jon turn to each other, both holding in the laughter that was threatening to come out. Yeah, Damian is a sweetheart but only to animals and Marinette, beyond those two things, he’s everything but.
“Good to know, well it was nice seeing you guys again.” Adrien waves to the girls before turning to Nino whispering. “If you need to get away from them some time, DM me and I’ll give you my newest number.”
Nino’s eyes widen in excitement before he quickly nods. Nino misses his best bud and it was hurting him to see Adrien living his truth while he is stuck with everyone that decided to remain together.
While walking back to the bakery, Jon had some interesting things to say about the whole encounter. Never has he ever heard anyone call Damian by that nickname, he is amazed out how he handled the situation knowing how much mental damage the liar had placed on Adrien and to an extend Marinette.
“I’m sorry our outing was ruined by them, I wasn’t—” Adrien tries to apologize but is interrupted by Jon stopping and placing his hand on the blonde’s shoulder.
“I had fun regardless of them. Wanna try again later tonight, perhaps a movie.” Jon sends Adrien a reassuring smile who nods happily at the offer. It was a good offer and gives them more alone time before he had to leave with Damian and Jason.
“I’d like that.”
When the boys had returned to the bakery, they are greeted by Sabine handing an order to a customer before mention that everyone is in the living room. Adrien quickly grabs Jon’s wrist and moves to the mentioned room.
Marinette is annihilating Jason on Ultimate Mecha Strike III, his cries of defeat bring music to Damian’s ears as he reads a novel.
“So, did anything exciting happened?” Marinette asks her eyes never leaving the screen. Flawless victory. Jason sighs and turns to the duo then blanches. He hands Marinette a twenty and shakes his head.
“Nothing happened…well except running into Nino,” Adrien answers, though he wonders why Jason had given Marinette a twenty.
“That’s good,” Marinette finally turns to him and waves her controller. “Wanna play around, and while I’m kicking your butt you can tell me all about your encounter with Nino.” Adrien shrugs and takes the controller that Jason had left on the couch to proceed to raid the fridge. No matter what time of day, Jason always raid the fridge for food.
“So, Kent, when are you going to tell him?” He heard Damian ask as the video game’s music raises and his attention turns to something else.
The day slowly became nighttime to which Jon and Adrien had decided to invite Damian and Marinette to the movies. Marinette took one look at them before saying no and for them to have fun. However, what they didn’t hear was her saying, “Come back dating or not at all” after they had left the bakery.
Nette from Mars @marinettewhomemes Loverboy 1 and loverboy 2 went to movies. Should I place a bet on what they’re going to see? I swear it will be a sap or action movie, knowing my brother. [Attached is a poll with three movie suggestions.]
Sending off the tweet, she looks up to her boyfriend’s chin. They were resting on her bed looking at the starry night sky from her skylight. Damian had his arms wrapped around her waist as she rests her head on his chest. They love snuggling together especially when they know that his brothers, specifically Jason, weren’t going to barge in on them.
“Fifty saying that they won’t confess even after seeing my tweet,” Marinette states lifting herself up to play with Damian’s hair.
“That’s a fool’s bet, Angel.” Damian counters causing Marinette to pout. She hates it when he’s right, but look fifty euros or dollars can do a lot for her.
“Eh, you’re right.” Marinette decides to switch the topic. “I’m going to miss you when you leave in a couple of days. It’s fun having you around.”
“We won’t be separate for long; we have video chats to keep us company.” Damian knows full damn well that video chat isn’t the same as seeing her in person. His own family loves it when Marinette’s around him because he acts his age, a normal sixteen-year teen.
“Dams, it’s not the same.” Marinette playfully hits his chest. Damian kisses Marinette’s forehead before smothering her kisses on the cheek. Marinette’s nose scrunches with the amount of love he is showing her.
“As much as I love being in your arms, you know how papa gets when it’s late and you’re not in your guest room with Jay-Jay.” Damian groans but he understands. Instead of staying at a hotel, Tom and Sabine were willing to let the boys stay at their home with strict sleeping guidelines, more specifically for Damian.
“I’ll see you in the morning, Angel.” As he pecks her lips, Marinette smiles then waves her boyfriend a farewell.
Adrien DuPain-Cheng @adrienwhopuns Can someone tell @jonnyboykent that the movie wasn’t scary? It was a good non-horror movie. [Attached is a photo of Jon behind Adrien covering his eyes.]
Adrien and Jon had arrived late from the movies that night. Hugging each other, neither one of them wanted to let go. Jon ended up brushing Adrien’s hair with his hands as Adrien just rest his head against the half-Kryptonian’s chest. They stayed like that for a moment before crashing on the living room couch.
When Marinette woke up the following morning, she immediately took photos of them sleeping. Yes, these will be very helpful when giving her in-law speech at their wedding or for blackmail, whichever one comes first.
“Wake up you goofs and tell me about last night.” Marinette playfully hits Adrien’s leg forcing the poor teen to groan and move. He glares at Marinette like a cat that didn’t want to be disturbed.
“Morning Mars, where’s Damian?” Jon asks looking around as he wipes the sleep away from his eyes. Marinette answers with a shrug. “Ugh, I’m going to go get changed.” Jon then moves and leaves.
The second Jon was out of hearing range, Adrien looks down and murmurs, “I think I like Jon.”
“Of course, you do, you won’t be hanging out with him otherwise.”
“No, no, like more than just a friend.”
Marinette’s eyes widen with excitement. She tries to contain her squeal. “I knew it! You got to tell him before he leaves.”
Adrien rubs his arm; a faint blush crosses his face. “I don’t know; I don’t want to ruin what we have and—”
“And nothing, you like him, kitty.” Marinette became determined to get the two teens together.
In the other room, Damian was having the same conversation with Jon.
“About time,” Jason says putting on his jacket.
“Last night was so amazing, but—”
“But nothing Kent, walk up to him and kiss him,” Damian states crossing his arms sharing a knowing look with his brother.
“If anything, ask Pixie to help set the mood. I’m sure she already has it planned out.”
“I don’t know…” Jon literally was avoiding his best friend’s glare at him. However, they were right, but was he ready to destroy three years of friendship for a romance? Nope, the idea seems to be too much of a risk.
The two Wayne boys growl out in frustration, this was hopeless.
Damian, Jon, and Jason’s last day in Paris was met with tearful goodbyes and relaxation. Marinette was already making plans to visit Damian in Gotham while Adrien and Jon danced around each other.
They flirted opening with one another but never made any advances. It was driving everyone insane.
Nette from Mars @marinettewhomemes Imma about to kill a bitch if these two don’t kiss already.
The day was slowly coming to an end. After a series of goodbye hugs and kisses, Sabine had taken the boys to the airport. Never once did Adrien no Jon admitted their feelings to another and that aggravated Marinette to no end. When will the two just admit it already?
Jon and Adrien resumed their daily chats messaging whether it was through video or text. Adrien would come out smiling after each message which made the family happy to see once again after a day of pouting Adrien.
For months everything was going great until a news article across seas mention that the American heroes are in trouble. Superboy is down along with a few other young heroes. At first, the article was nothing and that changed when Damian had called Marinette and ask for Adrien. Jonathon was in the hospital. Immediately, Adrien went into a massive panic, nearly becoming akumatized if it wasn’t for Marinette grabbing the butterfly and purifying it before any damage could be done.
For days, Adrien was restless and worried. He calls Damian for updates every day hoping for a miracle. Tikki and Plagg reassured him that he’ll make it out. This goes on for a week. His twitter account less than active. He barely eats, pays attention in school, and nearly failed an exam if it wasn’t for Marinette.
Then on one faithful late-night Adrien’s phone rings. He was barely functioning when he had answered. It was Jon, he was okay and no need to worry. That short phone call didn’t ease Adrien’s worry.
Marinette’s and Damian’s one-year anniversary was coming up. Adrien and Jon’s daily chats became nothing but scarce. He would try and message the half-Kryptonian on more than one occasion. Sometimes he would receive a reply, sometimes he didn’t. Adrien knows that Damian is coming back to Paris to surprise Marinette. Marinette was working on a new gown to show to Damian as a tribute to their anniversary. Helping Damian was keeping Jon off his mind.
“Luka what am I supposed to do, I like him, I really like him,” Adrien says laying down on the chaise in the Miraculous team HQ back at the old bakery. Luka sat on a stool with a clipboard in hand and his guitar place beside him. This was becoming an everyday occurrence for the two of them.
“Uh-huh,” Luka nods writing something down before replacing the clipboard with his guitar. Playing a few notes, Luka knew what to say to Adrien and as a plus, the music calmed Adrien down just enough to relax. “Have you tried sending a letter?”
Adrien thought about it. Sending a letter wasn’t something he did for Jon since the pen-pal program ended and before they started to call and text each other. It was a start at best, but would Jon receive his letter in time? Would he even read it? Has he changed addresses? Too many questions ran through the poor blonde’s mind.
So, after thinking about long and hard, Adrien opted to send Jon a letter. He had to text Jason to make sure he had the correct address to the letter to Jon. It took him a day to write and have Marinette proofread it. The letter was no ordinary “how you’re doing” letter but a confession from the heart. He had poured his heart out into the letter mentioning every time he felt whole when being around Jon. A few teardrops onto the sheet of paper at least once or twice.
After sending the letter, it felt like something was lifted from his chest. Marinette was there to support him and hug him as he cries out his worries.
Nette from Mars @marinettewhomemes I never thought that I would have experienced a one-year anniversary with someone who is not from France, regardless, Happy Anniversary Dami! [Attached is silhouette photo of Damian kissing Marinette’s hand]
While Adrien was helping Tom and the kwamis calm down Marinette, who was is a mass panic about today, Sabine had gone to go pick up a group of people from the airport. Originally, it was supposed to be Damian who was going to come to Paris alone, but that plan changed with an addition of a way more people.
“I can’t believe, Demon Spawn managed to keep a relationship going for a year,” Tim says sipping on a cup of coffee that he had brought from the airport. Everyone in the car was talking amongst themselves congratulating or teasing Damian.
Sabine could only smile at the commotion that was happening in her car. It was always nice to see them, but it does disappoint her that Bruce couldn’t make it, unlike the boys.
When they had arrived at the bakery, the majority of new visitors ran inside. Sabine could hear the cheers and screams of happiness from her location outside. She turns to the lone figure who was rubbing his arm anxiously and gives him a soft smile. Sabine then walks inside and seconds later Marinette and Adrien run outside. Damian appears behind Marinette wrapping his arms around her as Adrien madly dashes over to the lone figure.
“Jon!” Adrien cries out crashing his body into Jon’s. Jon holds Adrien tightly as tears threaten to shed from eyes. “What are you doing here?” Adrien breaks the embrace to look him in the eyes.
“I wanted to say I’m sorry for how I treated you. I shouldn’t have—” Adrien's lips brush against Jon’s effectively cutting the taller dark-haired male off.
In the background, Marinette looks like she’s about to commit murder. “Great now I have to share an anniversary with him too.” It may have come off as mean but the mischievous glint in her eyes says otherwise. “Have him home before dinner, Jon.” She then yells back before Damian twirls her around and takes her inside.
“I’ve been wanting to do that for six months,” Adrien says breaking the kiss for air. Red covers Jon’s face as he pulls Adrien in for another kiss.
“And I have been wanting to do that for a year.” Jon then says breaking the second kiss. This it was Adrien’s face that turns bright red rivaling Ladybug’s former suit.
Adrien DuPain-Cheng @adrienwhopuns It’s official, I’m no longer single as a pringle! Thx mom for taking this photo! #yesimgay [Attached is a photo of Adrien and Jon kissing in the sunset facing away from the camera]
After five years of dating, Damian had proposed to Marinette first. Then Jon had to go and propose a little under a year later to Adrien. Both Marinette and Adrien had said yes to their significant other. What really got into a heated argument was planning the wedding. Marinette wanted to wait a year or two before walking down the aisle and Adrien wanted to get it done and over with. However, that was not the case as everyone wanted to get involved. Tom and Sabine wanted to make the cake, the Wayne’s and the Kent’s wanted to fund the weddings, and Marinette had to make the outfits for her and Adrien.
After waiting for a little under two years, the two pairs decided a double wedding would be less expensive than paying for two separate events and it work out seeing they share an anniversary day anyways.
Then the royal day has arrived.
Tom and Sabine are crying as they help their children get into their designated outfits. Marinette was wearing a laced white ball gown with red accents. Sabine had a family heirloom that the women wear at their weddings to give to Marinette. Tikki had given Marinette her ladybug luck as part of her wedding gift to the guardian and her chosen. Adrien was wearing a suit that was similar to Tom’s when he had married Sabine. Marinette had also made him a Chat Noir theme bow tie to match.
Soon the music was blaring throughout the venue. At the altar, Damian and Jon were anxious beyond belief. They thought, telling they're significant others about their nightly activities was anxious, but this takes the cake. Together they wait for the rest of the procession to end and the music to pick up at the arrival of their loved ones. At the end of the hall, Tom stands in the middle with Marinette and Adrien to the side of him. Tom tries to hold it together as he walks them down to the alter. Sabine was already in tears along with Lois as they were sitting close to each other.
Everything running smoothly. The officiant would speak to then as a whole, just that they had practice in rehearsals until the exchange of vows. Marinette and Damian had done theirs first it was romantic and just right for them. Then Adrien and Jon had followed suit. Adrien’s vows were very similar to the letter he had sent Jon all those years ago as Jon made the promise of never leaving him in life or in death.
After exchanging the rings everyone at the venue could see the anticipation to say “I do” between the two couples. In fact, the Officiant could barely the pronouncement of marriage before they had kissed their soon-to-be husbands or wife. Everyone applauded. Marinette was resting her head against Damian’s shoulder interlocking their hands in the process as Adrien was holding Jon closely never wanting to let go.

Goodbye Paris: Lila Rossi
I don't know what it was about Marinette Dupain-Cheng that made me hate her so much but I did.
Maybe it was her goody two shoes nature.
Maybe it was the fact that the whole class loved her.
Maybe because she was one of the only people to actually know I was lying.
Or Maybe it was her clear attraction to Adrien.
Who cares about why though, she decided to challenge me, and in the end that's why I took her down. It was easy to turn the class against her. It was funny, when I first arrived they sang praises about Marinette. All it took was a few lies and one by one the class left Marinette by herself. I started with Alya, the girl's so called best friend, luring the girl in with secrets about my 'best friend' Ladybug. Slowly painting Marinette in a bad light and wiggling embarrassing secrets about Marinette out of her. Tricking Alya had landed Nino in my grip as well. With a few well placed name drops the wannabe DJ was eating from my hand. The rest of the class just fell in line well except for that Chloe Bourgeois girl. Though all it took was one measly akuma to scare her away. With Chloe out of the way I had every idiot under my thumb.
All it took was some faked texts, injuries, and destroyed items and the class believed Marinette was a big bully.
It was amazing, but it wasn't enough!
I wanted to ruin her, completely and utterly.
My first try was a failure, turns out the girl removed her pathetic attempt at a fashion website. So instead I went after her parents. Nice people, nice easily manipulated people. They were so thankful when I told them their beloved daughter was heading down such a bad path. Oh I loved seeing her come to school more and more resigned! She didn't talk unless Madame Bustier called on her! I loved it!
But she wasn't broken yet, I could still see the fire in her eyes.
That good for nothing brat!
I started lying to her parents even more. And they fell for every single lie!
They were convinced that Marinette was sneaking out at night to hang out with gang members. That she was failing all her classes, and had someone faking the reports of good grades. They even believed me when I told them that Marinette didn't even plan on going to college!!
Then I won!
 Marinette was gone!
Gone!!
It was perfect, the class was mine and her parents were too! On top of that I could blame the lack of funds for our school trip on Marinette as well! The only thing that marred my win was Gabriel being exposed as Hawkmoth! Costing me my job, but it was easy to find work as a model. I was just no longer a company's star female model. I still couldn't believe Adrien was Chat Noir, and the lies I had to come up with when stupid Ladybug said she was leaving!
Unbelievable!
Luckily all these sheep fell for it. At the end of the year we managed a trip to Disney Paris and it was the perfect opportunity to put Marinette down even more. A few tears and the entire class was heading for that stupid bakery. I wasn’t prepared for a limo to be parked outside, or for Jagged Stone to get out and hug that annoyance.
Then!!!
Then she got into the limo with him and they left before she even noticed us! When we were finally over the shock I was able to ask Tom and Sabine what happened. I held back a snort when they told me she was going to college and they still didn’t believe her. I made a quick comment about her being unable to since she dropped out and they all ate it up.
It's a shame, I was hoping to rub my win in a little more.
Over the next couple years I kept them all under my thumb using them to force Adrien into dating me. Laughing silently every time one of my promises fell through.
Oh, but they never blamed poor little Lila-no.
They blamed the people I claimed I knew! Alya was so excited when I told her of the interview I got her with Lois Lane.
But when the time came, she never showed up!
Oops.
All I had to do was let a few tears drop as I was ‘calling’ dear Lois, and Alya was cursing her name!
It was the same with every single one of them! God it was so easy and fun to manipulate them, and dear Adrien. Oh he begged me to stop, but all it took was telling him that all I needed was one lie.
Just one.
And no one from the group of sheep would talk to him again. He shut up letting me do anything I wanted. Then the Gotham earthquake happened and I was quick to jump on it. Telling them all how worried I was for the Wayne family, of course they believed me! So I decided to go a step further, I pulled myself from the public eye for six months hiding out in my apartment with Adrien. Sweet little Adrien knew better than to say anything about me not actually being gone. When I finally appeared it was so easy to convince them that I was in Gotham, helping the Wayne family rebuild.
I wasn’t prepared for the class to slowly start drifting away from Adrien and I, but I used it to my advantage. It was easy to convince Adrien to ask me to marry him, a few sweet words. That's all it took and we were married, I am now Mrs. Agreste.
And I once again won, taking the name that stupid Marinette Dupain-Cheng dreamed about.
Life is good, I’m rich, beautiful, and famous. I have my own trophy husband and I travel the world just for photo shoots! The only downside is I can’t get any modeling gigs under designer MDC! It's ridiculous but I’m going to change  that at this Wayne Gala. Some of the models employed by MDC told me she’d be there. I’ll charm her just like a charmed everyone else.
BUT THEN SHE SHOWED UP! WITH TWO IDIOT KIDS AND DAMIAN WAYNE HIMSELF! MARINETTE DUPAIN-CHENG!!!!
She didn’t just show up with him, she is married to him. She is married to Damian Wayne! While I’m married to Adrien Agreste. And to top it off!!
TO TOP IT OFF! SHE IS MDC!!! THE SAME DAMN WOMAN THAT I”VE BEEN TRYING TO WORK UNDER!!!!
That's it, I’m going to ruin her tonight! I don’t know who but I am!
I’m going to destroy her image, I’ll show everyone thAT I’M THE ONE THEY SHOULD LOOK AT NOT HER!!!!
Everyone is out to get me!! No matter what I do I can’t get to her people keep getting in my way!! This is perfect, the stupid-STUPID Wayne Patriarch is giving a speech! I just need to slowly get closer and closer to her.
No, no, no, NO, NO!!!!!
WHY IS SHE WALKING UP THERE WITH DAMIAN!!! Pregnant!? She is pregnant and she thought that was some big news!
AND EVERYONE IS CHEERING FOR HER WHEN I’M RIGHT HERE!!!!
Look at her smiling looking so HAPPY! She shouldn’t be happy, she should be miserable! I spent the rest of the night attempting to get closer to her, I’ll frame her for something! ANYTHING!!
I’ll-I’ll claim she pushed me down!!
Or that she threatened me!!!
I’LL DESTROY HER TONIGHT!!
Wait, wait-what is Adrien doing!! What are they talking about?!?!
WHY IS HE LOOKING AT HER LIKE HE JUST FOUND A LONG LOST LOVE!!
How dare he make a move towards her!!!
I’ll destroy him too!
YES
YES
YES
ITS PERFECT!!!!
I’ll tell everyone that he has been cheating on me with Marinette!! They’ll fall for it and it’ll tear Marinette’s marriage apart! Then I’ll make my move on Damian!
I’LL TAKE MY RIGHTFUL PLACE ABOVE MARINETTE!!
ALL EYES WILL BE ON ME!!
All eyes are on me!
Perfect-wait, why are all eyes on me?
Kicked out!?! Adrien got us kicked out and banned from all Wayne Gala and functions!?!
No. NO. NO. NO!!!!!
HOW DARE HE DO THIS TO ME!! HOW DARE HE GET IN THE WAY!! I’M GOING TO DESTROY HIM!! I’LL DESTROY ALL OF THEM!!!!

My One And Only - Chapter 10
Previous | Next
I might post this one shot I’m writing later. I really need to work on my angst but I just can’t bring myself to write it. I just love fluffity fluff Because... it’s fluff, my heart go melt. Also we’re starting to get into the longer chapters now, yAY
"So?" Alya asked. "Can you tell me?"
Marinette nodded. "So um, his name is D-Damian"
————————————————————
Marinette excused herself to go to the bathroom while Alya said she would wait for her by the school's entrance. Marinette already told her about her encounter with Damian and her crush on him too which Alya found to be sweet. Then she noticed Nino and Adrien enter.
"Hey Adrien is it ok if I steal Nino for a few minutes?" She asked.
"Sure go ahead" Adrien answered, amused.
"Thanks" she said while grabbing Nino's arm and dragging him away. "I did it" she whispered to him.
"Did what?"
"I found out who Mari's crush is! But I ain't telling"
"Whaaaat why not?" Nino pouted teasingly.
"I'll tell you when they get together" she kissed him on the cheek "You can go back to Adrien now. See ya!" She went back to the locker room where Marinette was waiting.
"Hey do you wanna join us later?" Marinette asked. "We're just gonna go for a walk around Paris"
"If you want me to" Alya replied with a smug face. 'But I don't want to invade the bubble you two will be in'
~~~
Damian was in his hotel room using a make shift punching bag when the sky became dark. He took down his homemade punching bag and took a look outside. The sky wasn't really the clear but it wasn't that dark either. The clouds became jet-black and shot large bolts of electric lightning. Damian took a step back as he notice a figure floating in the sky, shooting lightning bolts from her parasol. He decided to go into the roof of the hotel to get a better look. He remained in the shadows while watching the girl wreaking havoc. 'Is this what Angel meant?'. He was dumbfounded by how powerful this villain was but then he remembered magic was involved, magic was always powerful. Then the villain floated towards the hotel.
"Where is Chloe Bourgeois!?" The villain shouted, mainly to herself. Then Damian noticed a glowing butterfly mask appear on the akumatized villain. "Yes, Hawkmoth?"
'Hawkmoth...' Damian spat the name in his mouth. He disliked this man, such cowardice for targeting younger ones like he did.
"Don't worry Hawkmoth, they'll be here. I'm too big of a threat to ignore" the girl praised herself and as if it were a word of command, A boy in a black cat suit appeared. 'That must be Chat Noir'
"Back again huh Ice Queen?" The cat-themed superhero teased.
"My name is not Ice Queen! It's Stormy Weather!" She shouted back.
"For an ice queen, you really need to cool down" he fired back. Then the girl used her parasol to conjure a massive gust of wind but Chat Noir dodged it. Then Damian watched as a spotted yo-yo wrapped around Chat Noir and dragged him away. Damian then could've sworn he heard the sound of a flute but he didn't think anything of it when Chat Noir returned, this time with a spotted hero and a fox themed hero. 'Ladybug and...Rena Rouge I suppose'.
Stormy Weather then took a fighting stance only to have her eyes covered with a towel by a figure behind. 'That's....Ladybug but how-' Damian inwardly sighed. 'Magic I suppose'. He watched as the fake Ladybug disappeared while the real Ladybug grabbed the girl's parasol and smash it in half, intrigued to see a purple butterfly, fly out of the umbrella. Damian watched as Ladybug had snatched the butterfly into her yo-yo and then proceeded to 'de-evilise' it, as what Marinette said. He kept observing them. He watched in awe as Ladybug took the spotted towel used the cover Stormy Weather's eyes and threw it in the sky, many magical butterflies emerging and fixing everything that was damaged. From the sky to the nearby buildings. After they defeated the villain, they fist bumped and then Chat Noir took the now normal girl back to where she came from. Then Ladybug took Rena Rouge and they travelled in the opposite direction.
Now thinking it was safe to come out, Damian approached from the dark and went back to his hotel room via stairs. As he locked the door to his hotel room he realised something he had not noticed before, they all had a different specialized weapon. "How could I not have noticed that before?" He muttered to himself. He played through his memories. 'Ladybug has a Yo-yo, The cat had a retractable staff and Rena had...a flute was it?'. He decided to write some of this down in Arabic that way no one would know what it said even if they were to find the note. He dedicated the rest of his time researching the heroes.
~~~
"Alya" Marinette whined. "It's not a date"
"Even if it wasn't, I still gotta make sure you look good" Alya styled her best friends's hair into a bun with a few strands loose on either side of her face. The outfit she chose for Marinette was an ivory turtleneck sweater dress with brown knee-high boots, all MDC originals of course. The thing is, Alya still didn't know that Marinette was MDC. She hadn't told her yet so convincing her best friend that all these clothes were 'thank you gifts' was difficult to say the least. When Marinette looked at herself in the mirror she let out a tiny audible gasp. She looked great if she said so herself. "What did I tell you? You're best friend knows what looks good on you" Alya said proudly while patting herself on the back.
"Yeah, you did great" Marinette giggled. "Now come on let's go!" She grabbed her best friend's arm and dragged her to where they agreed to meet Damian.
Alya wasn't sure what she was expecting but it definitely wasn't what she saw. In the distance she saw a tall, muscular and handsome man. She wasn't attracted to him, in fact, the neutral scowl on his face was enough to send fear up her spine. Alya wasn't sure if this man was safe to be around, or if it was even Damian for that matter but the bright sparkle in Marinette's eye when spotting him confirmed that this was indeed Damian. Alya watched astounded as the once threatening scowl on his face turned into a naturally soft smile the moment his eyes spotted her best friend. 'This guy is totally in love with Mari. And I'm here for it'
When Damian noticed Marinette with a girl, 'Césaire probably', he smiled and walked up to them. "Hello Angel, nice to see you" he said in French. He turned to the other girl "Damian , nice to meet you" he said again in French while holding his hand out for a handshake.
"Alya, Alya Césaire" Marinette's best friend said while returning the handshake.
Marinette's eyes were bright when Alya and Damian had introduced themselves "So now that we're here, what should we do?"
"Didn't you say that you needed fabric for your designs?" Alya asked.
"Yeah b-"
"In that case we should go shop for the fabric needed" Damian replied.
"That's nice of you guys but we don't have too-"
"Come one I know a few shops!" Alya grabbed Marinette's hand and dragged her to the fabric shops in the area with great reviews without allowing her to protest. Damian tagged right behind, smiling at the two best friend's interaction. Alya then took the time to whisper into her best friend's ear. "He called you Angel" she said with smirk on her face.
"I-it's just a nickname" Marinette stuttered as she felt her face become hot. Alya playfully rolled her eyes while leading the bluenette to one of the best fabric shops in Paris with Damian in tow.
In the end they bought Marinette three different rolls of fabric. Damian was the one who paid, though it took a long time arguing before Marinette finally backed down. She was the one who wanted to pay but Damian kept insisting he should pay. He had also offered to carry all the rolls of fabric, not that he needed to ask because he carried them anyway, ignoring Alya and Marinette's protests. Soon they arrived at her parents' bakery and they met a surprised Sabine Cheng and Tom Dupain, they were mostly surprised at the boy who could carry three rolls of fabric single-handedly and look as if he could carry more. They watched, amused, as their daughter and this boy argued back and forth. Marinette saying that she could carry the rolls of fabric to her room by herself and the boy saying that he could carry it by himself. The argument didn't even last a minute before they came to a conclusion; Marinette would take one of the rolls while the boy would bring the other two. When they both left to go to Marinette's room, Alya answered a question that was in both the parents' head.
"His name is Damian" Alya said. "Marinette says he's an exchange student from the US"
"The US?" Tom said confused. "I thought he could've been from Bordeaux, there wasn't a hint of an accent'
"He must have been studying French for a long time" Sabine said, quite impressed.
Alya nodded. "Marinette's known him for a while, I just met him today and he's very smart"
Then both Marinette and Damian came downstairs. "Maman, Papa I'm going with Alya to make sure she gets hom-"
"I can go by myself it's fine" Alya interrupted. 'You and Damian need some time alone!' She inwardly smirked.
"Then I'll make sure Damian goes home" Marinette said without hesitation. They both said their goodbyes and walked out, leaving Alya and Marinette's parents.
"He's good husband material" Sabine said the moment her daughter and the boy left. Both Alya and Tom chuckled while nodding. Then when Alya turned to leave, Sabine and Tom went back to decorating some cupcakes.
~~~
Adrien kept looking through all the fan-mail he got, it was a lot but he wanted to read each and every one of them so that his fans knew he cared. But there was still something at the back of his mind, something nagging him. It was about when Plagg went to talk with Tikki about what he described as 'Kwami Business'. Adrien knew it was private conversations between kwamis but he could help but be curious as when Plagg had asked for permission to go, he was much more serious than he probably has been his entire life. "Plagg"
"Yeah Adrien?" The kwami replied, biting his aged Camembert.
"The day you went to talk with Tikki, what did you have to talk about?" Adrien watched as Plagg stiffened. Surprisingly, he put his cheese aside. 'Uh oh, this must be serious'
Plagg sighed, "It about the side effects of the miraculous"
"Side effects?" Now he was getting worried.
"The side effects only a true miraculous holder could get" Plagg mumbled hesitantly.
