Neo on the other hand is a psychic duelist with great control of her powers due to her semblance, but she can't summon monsters with out the dule disk she loves the dule runners is a beast at riding one. She's the getaway driver and is happy having Roman back, she also has a soft spot for other psychic duelist cus she's not alone, she's better at finding them and brings them back to the hideout that is just basically their house. Everyone knows it's best not to mess with them because they will beat the shit out of you if you touch their kids. Sector security does not mess with them after Neo used her new powers to wreck them... along with the usual mob extortion tactics that Roman and Neo have used. The normal person in the 5ds world find them strange as they will often not settle things with a dule. If you stay out of the way you'll be ok...not sure if it would affect the og plot and what not

I want SY to admire SQH for his amazing story-writing abilities and always talk to him about novels (not porn ones) he finds interesting until one day, he slips up and talks about a web novel.

SQH: *sweating* What other web novels have you read?

SY: There's this web novel that started up super strong with a tragic main character and interesting premise, but now it only has sexual content that is tailored for a perverted male audience.

SQH: O-oh, uhmmm, that's terrible... What is it called?

SY: PIDW

SQH: *panicking and screaming internally*

SY: Professor, you should read it so we can talk about this novel's wasted potential.

SQH: Of c-course

Then, SQH started to avoid SY, and SY was depressed because of it. His favorite professor, and basically the only person he talked to, was ignoring him. That was unacceptable, so he went to SQH's office hours to trap him so SQH could not run away. When SY arrived, he found the office unlocked, but SQH was not there.

Having nothing else to do, SY started reading the latest chapter of PIDW and was immediately enraged by the shit chapter. Now, he really wanted to talk to SQH about this, but since he was not here yet, SY started going ham in the comment section. To make it worse, Airplane was replying to his comments, which irritated him more.

Before SY could reply, SQH walked into the office. SQH, surprised by SY's presence, dropped his phone when he saw the student he was trying to avoid sitting in his office. SY, being the polite kid, picked up his professor's phone, intending to respect SQH's privacy by not looking. However, his eyes were immediately drawn to SQH's screen because it was opened to the comment section of the latest chapter of PIDW with SQH's username visible.

It is funny to me how Harry Potter is literally the main character, yet people tend to go like he didn't suffer that much or he wasn't "abused"; Like, how can one misunderstand the literal main character of the damn franchise?

He wasn't abused; yes okay. He absolutely did not grow up inside a cupboard; the tiny place that is mostly reserved for brooms or cleaning supply. He absolutely was not treated inferior to the other child who lived in the same house. He was totally was not treated like a "freak" or a "stain" that his family was ashamed off. He grew up inside a cupboard while there was a literal unused bed in the same house. And you want to know what that screamed to a child, a baby — who slept inside a cupboard while there being a perfectly usable room right there? You are worth nothing and we don't love you and we are ashamed of what you are.

He wasn't starved, or at least he was fed; Yeah, no. We see it from the first book. How Vernon was no food for you and in the cupboard you go — and by the looks of it, that was like his most common punishment. And then, in the second book — you practically see it happen. He was locked, inside a room with only a can of soup that he shared with Hedwig. Now, tell me what it would do to a child — to be given food through a cat flap, and fun fact? Harry got to eat less than people on war rations; in short? He was starved, yes.

He wasn't abused physically so it's not abuse; As for people's thinks abuse isn't abuse until it's physical (which is inherently wrong because abuse isn't only physically, fyi); Harry has learned to dodge Vernon and he states that, very proudly when his uncle tries to grab him. He dodges a flying pan and states that fact, again very proudly as if it is the norm; do you know how heavy pans are? And do you know what would happen when one hits you? If you want an even clearer proof; Vernon Dursley strangles Harry in Ootp. There you go. Also, in the first book, we clearly see Vernon encouraging Dudley to hit Harry. Read between the lines and actually try to understand what that signifies.

And favourite part; When he wasn't treated like a prisoner, or a freak— he was their servant. And that is very much canonical. Tending Petunia's garden during summers and drinking from the water hose in the garden because of how hot it was? Having to wake up early so he can tend the kitchen and when he wasn't doing all that he is locked away. And it is all canon.

In conclusion, Harry— not only grew up to think that he was inhumane, undeserving of love, a freak that didn't even get to have his own bed because someone like him didn't deserve it, physically harmed enough times that he dodges them out of reflex and also the Dursleys' glorified servant; that is not even taking into account what Harry went through in Hogwarts. And after all that if someone tells me; this child, right here — didn't go through much then well, maybe read the books again?

one of my moots made an excellent post about burn out in occult spaces and what to do magically about it, and I didn't want to derail so here's my little PSA:

Magic is not a "no energy" activity. Even visualization and energy conduction. If you are struggling to do basic magic after you've done magical self care, especially if you're struggling with basic care tasks, it's possible you need to rest. It's possible you need a fallow period in your practice.

I don't say this to discourage people from doing magic or practicing their craft, but as a witch with chronic fatigue who tried to push through burnout and made it worse.

My break was close to 5 years with small things like occasional divination and prayer, but it's worth taking even a week to a month if you feel like you're dragging your body around and nothing you do refreshes your energy

This AU is basically the Dungeon Meshi of Warrior Cats. This is a high compliment.

It's so funny, I get that a lot and I totally see it + appreciate it, but BB actually predates me being a fan of Dungeon Meshi! I've been getting that compliment since even before the anime dropped.

It makes perfect sense though. Dungeon Meshi uses food as a metaphor for communication across individuals, class, and most relevantly culture. It's something that brings people together, even when that's being addressed as a sinister thing when.......

I do something with a lot of overlap in BB. Food is an extension of the culture of the five Clans. I use it to characterize individuals too and as a metaphor for things at times (like Darkstripe's growth or cultural friction in Heartstar's Rise), but most of all, I try to emphasize the food as the product of the society that makes it. The biome, the diet, the behaviors of its chefs... so Dungeon Meshi and BB are naturally going to draw some interesting similarities.

Plus, Dungeon Meshi's a good ass series man, it's downright awe-inspiring. I hope I can make a narrative as satisfying as Ryoko Kui can, lmao. I love how much that girlie loves food

I've been seeing a couple of monster!Jason and reader, with reader still loving him no matter what.

Look, I'm not sure if this has been done before, but I'm offering this: Monster! reader and Jason Todd.

It's not really a request, I'm just sharing a little bit of a brainrot that I got somewhere while reading a couple of your fics. Sorry if this is too long, you don't have to read all of this.

So in the interval where Jason died - came back as Red Hood, reader was either a vigilante or a scientist working on a project that should have the security system updated or something. An accident happens and reader transforms into a mostly mindless beast that drives on instinct.

I'm saying mostly, because they can still recognize some faces or are aware of their situation to a certain extent but they can't really do anything to stop it.

So when Jason comes back as Red Hood and suddenly finds out his crush/ significant other got turned into a monster, the first thing he does is searching for you (if you aren't already confined in a prison or used as some kind of guard dog, this is Gotham, I can actually picture one of the rogues - mob bosses doing something like that). Jason takes off the helmet (after making sure no one is watching) hoping that reader could somehow recognize him and surprise, surprise, they do. Like, they are going full blown attack and suddenly freeze last second, recognizing the boy they always loved, changed, yet the same at the same time.

So monster!reader becomes tame at the presence of Jason, almost like a puppy or a very affectionate housecat while Jason takes care of reader while searching for a way to cure them and bring them back to their original form while also pampering them as best as they can.

I'm mostly picturing this out with werewolf!reader, but hell, I feel reader can be an eldritch horror abomination and still be all soft with Jason. I mean who wouldn't.

Nonnie, pleassse, you never have to apologize for length or asks like this because I always adore seeing everyone's ideas. And this one is just fantastic!! Seriously, I love the idea of Jason seeing past the appearance of a 'monster', the same way you would for him!

Off the top of my head, @/sanguineterrain has something vaugley like this called Angel of Small Death, where the reader is a shadow monster! I literally want to sink my teeth into that fic every time I think about it. (If you're looking for a fic rec)

Now, I'm actually going crazy at the idea that maybe you got a little too involved in your lab project, and something goes wrong, and you're more or less in a ManBat situation. Being the equivalent of a werewolf is hard, and you're mostly focused on food, staying warm, and plain survival.

If you end up sinking your teeth into a few goons with less than pure intentions of getting you under their bosses control, you don't think anyone can blame you. You're not sure how long you've been like this now, really, could be days, could be years. You mostly stick to alleys, the docks, and the sewers if you have to, even if the smell hurts you sharpened senses.

But it's your heightened smell that shakes your usually cloudy and reactive mind. Not even your tendency to act more wolf than person can keep you from recognizing Jason, even under the new, shiny helmet. He takes it off any way, ever cautious, and offers you food, water. But he didn't need to do any of that to get you to follow him to his base.

Red Hood 'taming' the Wolf of Gotham is feat that sends shock waves through the cites underbelly. But Jason, for his part, could care less about what people think of it. His one priority when it comes to you is to help you get back to yourself. (And if he needs to hand scrub your fur, file your claws, and wash you down with a hose, he will, in fact, do that)

And it turns out you are a very good guard dog! You chase off Batman, snarl at and attack the assassins Black Mask hires and rehires. But you're an even better lap dog, especially when Red Hood scratches your ears just right. Being a wolf is still hard, but at least you have someone who really cares about you to see you through it.

(Jason does believe in letting pets/friends turned into werewolves sleep on the bed. Even if you'll be embarrassed about it once he finds a way to turn you human again)

I’m just sitting here thinking about my Rook and Lucanis.

My Rook, who was born into house Velardo, the house that killed Lucanis’ parents and sent Caterina the opal ring of her favourite daughter as a threat. The house that Caterina promptly wiped out in revenge after almost her entire family was killed.

My Rook, who was taken in by Caterina purely as a “They took my favourite daughter, now I take theirs.” Ahh move.

Lucanis, who hates and blames my Rook for everything, and so their training together is always especially harsh and aggressive. Until it’s not. Until Lucanis and my Rook are 15ish and have the stupidest crushes on each other. Until Caterina notices it and shoves my Rook off to house de Riva and swears that Lucanis and my Rook will never see each other ever again.

Thinking about how they don’t. Until approximately two years before Lucanis "dies". Then only again after she rescues him from the ossuary. Thinking about how she lamented not loving him before she lost him, and how when the tables had turned and Rook was lost to the fade, he felt the same way.

Thinking about how they finally came together after like-... 20 odd years of pining. And it was all they had ever hoped for, all they had ever dreamed.

And finally thinking about how after everything, when Lucanis finally asks Caterina for his mothers ring how she gives him a side eye and a disapproval speech. How could he possibly ask for the same ring house Velardo stole from his mothers finger as a token of war, so he could give it to their daughter as a token of love? Caterina silently seethes but eventually relents because after every attempt she’s made to separate them, after Lucanis stands up to her for the first time in his life, finally she’s come to accept that they aren’t a distraction to one another, but a strength.

I’m just thinking about it.

thinking abt new krypton again... there's a plot that shouldve happened but didn't. listen. kon shouldve unionized the labor guild.

there's something to, like... zod/traditional krypton's anti-clone bigotry 🤝 traditional kryptonian classism. and kon has a history of meeting dehumanized people and immediately going "are they treating you right? you don't have to do what they tell you. quit your job. join my clone union" and he could EASILY have extended that energy to the labor guild. we had all the seeds of the kryptonian class conflict that just... never went anywhere.

and i think just like. kon should get to have so many feelings about the culture he's always yearned to learn more about bc he only has bits and pieces but it is his heritage etc. and like . how much it fucking SUCKS to be a next-gen immigrant kid who wants to get closer to a culture that. doesn't actually want you.

AND LIKE... the anti-clone bigotry on krypton has such a long history. it's a distant part of how kon got the name kon-el - the unnamed ancestor who saved van-l did so during the black zero group's attack on the clone banks of old krypton. which...
