A lot of the time its all 3. Or eg 1. Mamage disability 2. Manage basic physical needs like eating. 3. Managing 2nd tier physical needs like hygeine.

Sometimes 3 is emotional/social/intellectual needs depending on how much energy the person has to begin with.

Lately, managing all the specialists I gotta see has bumped up to a full number, possibly more than one and its genuinely really overwhelming, and I have to work out something soon or I will crash and see no specialists, its happened before.

So I have like

1. Managing disability and phsyical needs on a daily basis. 2. Juggle energy v everyone who I need and who wants to be helping me. 3. Destress decompress dont let 2 knock me out.

Make my house look nice is on the list but waaay down. I have things I need to buy in an open tab at checkout but I havent had the wherewithal to properly go through with the purchase yet. I have a gazillion things -

Ok actually, let me tell you the metaphor I actually use.

Yknow how people talk about having things on the backburner? Like a stovetop, main things on the stronger front burner, simmering things on the back burner.

Firstly I have fewer burners than the average person. There are things on front burner amd back burner and occasionally I can also hold something. The floor is absolutely covered in pots that have fallen off the burners entirely. Some are more important to me and I keep half an eye on tjem but they are firmly on the floor. Many many many pots I dont notice until I trip on them, at which point I have to weigh circumstances and decide if gets swapped with something on a burner, or if I continue tripping and maybe bruise a shin because I dont get what I want or someone is upset at me or some other consequence.

Sometimes I can look at whats on the floor and make it more orderly, but eg like now I have so many pots im trying to juggle while i work out what I even have room for, I cant organise shit my attention is fully taken up and if i trip on anything I am ignoring it im favor of staying on my feet. If i fall, everytjing gets dropped, I crash, and I exist in burn- out just getting through each day for weeks to months. I *really* have to work out all Im juggling, some of which is getting support work to help me with all my pots! But I cant take much off the stove. Its really urgent, as is keeping my cool and my necessary chillness to not burn out, and everyday disability management is inescapable so....I guess my active burners are ...less than two? Im mixing metaphors too much. I need to get my shit together abd lesen my.load asap before I crash, basically.

Its weird to tell people Ive been suoer busy when large portions of my time are taken up with staying calm - playing games, watching vods of gamers, untangling my tangled yarn - but it really is a top priority and my busyness is relative to my capacity, not to what other people consider to be large amoubt of avtivity.

This became me venting as well as offering uh insight and commentary I guess. I think thats ok. Part of the wjple being human means having emotions and wavering on the topic a little.

I think im gonna try integrate this top 3 perspective into comparing myself to others, at least. I have....way morr than 3 things that I WANT to be my top 3 priorities lol 😂😂😂

One thing that has made me a much more well-adjusted person is a clip I once saw of Hank Green saying that anyone can be in amazing shape as long as being in amazing shape is one of their top three priorities.

(This is obviously a generalization that isn't true for everyone. But it is true for most people and I'm proceeding from there.)

This "top three priorities" framing has genuinely reduced my tendency toward jealousy and self-comparison a lot. Now when I feel envious of someone’s spotless, aesthetic home, I think to myself, “Having a spotless, aesthetic home is probably one of their top three priorities. It’s definitely not one of mine, so I shouldn’t expect my home to look like that.”

Or when I see an influencer with a body that takes a ton of work to maintain: “Maintaining that body is obviously one of her top three priorities, because it’s her livelihood. My livelihood is my brain, so I’m never going to prioritize my body like that.”

It also helps me to identify areas that I actually DO want to prioritize more. I realized in recent years that my envy for my friends who prioritized writing more than I did was NOT going away, so I started to prioritize writing more. (Not top three, but higher priority than it has been in the past.)

Ok, first off, I absolutely agree there is some symbolism there! Its so interesting that the Skrill specifically was the one he chose.

As for a scale suit, I think that will probably be the best solution! But for now, I have to figure out the way they could do it without Hiccup knowing about dragon scale potential. 🤔 Since I already designed his suit at that stage, I don't want to say too much, but-

My main idea is a harness of sorts that works like a faraday cage. Forged with metal and ceramics as a first test, using copper wire and wood as as an arrestor of sorts. (Ill post a picture later today)

And I was kinda figuring, if a Skrill uses its spines to conduct electricity, and if Skrills hypothetically shed them like elephants shed their tusks, then they could use that as a bit of a conductor.

It would take the brunt of the lightning and arch it towards the spines of the Skrill's back, Now, I think the scales would protect him more once they figured out the scales potentially have the same capabilities of the dragon, and he could wear a suit of them, maybe the base could be a form of leather with a type of liquid silicate coating to encourage conductivity around his body?

Main part I'm worried about it creating an insulator. Right now there just really isn't anything we have in modern times that can actually fully withstand multiple blasts of lightning and protect someone very close to it. Lightning that isn't redirected would need to be stopped somehow, and Vikings don't have rubber (Im heavily thinking of making them invent it using some sort of dragon excretion and natural latex, (thank you @skyagent0 and @lilacwaterlily ! A rubber saddle is genius!) since its basically coagulated tree excretions), and everything else shatters. (Maybe ceramics or just clay. They are somewhat natural resistors, but I cant find a great deal of info about blocks of either getting struck by lightning lol.)

and omg now I really want to read a fic where Hiccup goes warping w Toothless!! is there even a fic like that out there? I feel like the fact they made scale suits is so cool and yet SO underutilized.

For now, I am just messing around with the conductivity of gronkle iron and dragon proof iron lol. Its incredible how adding fantasy elements makes it so much easier and yet more difficult? Its wild. This actually helps so much tho! Thank you!

Wuthering Waves has taken over all of my free time recently, so here's a sketch of Scar!Ren I originally shared in da 14DWY Discord!!

i was never as optimistic about the ending of bnha as some villain stans were, but i never thought it'd end so badly it left me wondering why horikoshi ever bothered to humanize the villains or make them complex characters at all.

like-- i expected that at least 1-2 of the 3 villains who were heavily foreshadowed and outlined by the narrative as people to be saved would be, you know, actually saved. i didn't think that was a high bar. i've been let down before in fandoms where everyone was certain a character would live and then they didn't, so i tried to keep my hopes low. AND YET.

what happened to tomura was upsetting, but i wasn't that shocked after how disinterested the manga has seemed to be in him for like, the past 100 or so chapters. a bit surprised, because you'd think if anyone would succeed in the 'saving' mission it would be the MC, but whatever. dabi, well, they've spent a lot of time showing the way his quirk destroys his body even before this arc, so that also sucked but at least it didn't feel completely out of left field.

........but they're not even letting toga live???

i just-- what have we even been doing here? when zero out of the 3 characters that were marked out for saving were actually saved, you have to acknowledge that something has gone seriously fucking wrong with the storytelling. not even just from the perspective of a villain fan but from the perspective of someone who likes stories to be thematically consistent or satisfying in any way.

you can set up an expectation of these characters being saved and then subvert that and turn it into a tragedy- if done well that could even be worthwhile and interesting. but you can't turn it into a tragedy and then just... keep trucking along with the happy ending messaging and act like anything in the manga has been resolved and that the characters have somehow successfully completed their heroic origin stories.

like, maybe i shouldn't have expected this much from a shounen- at the end of the day it is still a shounen so i didn't expect to feel that it truly satisfactorily wrapped up all the themes it brought up around societal ills. but i expected it to at least resolve those things in a shounen-y way where they punch the problems and help these specific people and then you can feel good assuming that the state of things will continue to improve in the post-canon world of the manga.

instead we got... uh, none of that. the story refused to answer a single one of the larger questions it's been outlining for the past 400+ chapters. in the end, it was all flash and no substance, which again could've been fine, if it weren't for the way the story seemed to spend significant chunks of time trying to delude you into thinking it had substance.

truly makes me wonder what horikoshi thought he was doing the entire time. can it really all be blamed on burnout? the most that can be said for this ending is that it is, well, an ending. fuck dude, it is that.

and that's just... such a sad way to end a project that took up 10 years of your life.

The Council of Optimuses: Pleasant, generally positive, they exiled Bayverse a while ago but they still check in once in a while to make sure he's ok/out of curiosity, Earthspark enables One's 'I can fix him' delusion to the point that Prime is falling into it too, IDW does NOT want to add to the delusion pile so he shuts up, Cyberverse kinda doesn't want to be at this meeting it feels too much like a party, IDW keeps making calls to somebody but he won't tell anyone who, they used to have 'bring your Bumblebee to work day' but Skybound had a breakdown over it so they can't do that anymore, everybody is suspicious of Skybound's new arm but the only person who actually brought it up was Bayverse whose solution was 'kill him' so now everybody thinks they are getting paranoid and should maybe start seeing a therapist (they should start seeing therapists, but they ARE right about the arm).

The Council of Megatrons: They are having a great time even if it looks horrible from the outside looking in, Prime constantly wants to fight IDW for his spot as the strongest Megatron but IDW is not about that, they tried to kick out Earthspark but he somehow keeps getting in (IDW leaves the door open), One has like 5 devils on his shoulder telling him to escalate and two fallen angels who are desperately trying to get across that maybe total destruction isn't the move, IDW is trying to hide his redemption arc in order to keep the situation under control (only Earthspark is aware of it, though Skybound has his suspicions), Cyberverse always tries to kill the others to take over their universes and it's the highlight of everybody's month, Bayverse is mocked for being killed by Optimus but secretly everybody is kinda jealous about it (Prime especially), one time an unidentified Starscream (it was Animated) broke in and it was on sight (he got away because every Megatron wanted to be the one who killed him and they fought each other over it), IDW keeps taking calls from somebody but he won't tell anyone who, Skybound can listen in on his Optimus's meetings due to being his arm and reports back, there is an ongoing debate about whether Galvatrons should be included.
