noone (and i mean noone) will convince me that this:
wasn't followed by some intense makeout
#tbh i've been convinced for a while that their relationship didn't evolve into anything more before hinata came back from brazil#like yeah they're already very obviously into each other#but during high school they're not mature enough for anything more than crushing very hard and volleyballing together#maybe at some point they do kiss and/or fool around at a party#maybe it even becomes habit in their third year#but they're NOT in a relationship. just pining really hard#but after this game???? the tension that's been built for years of competition and absence#the obvious connection they still have#the admiration the respect the attention they pay to each other#all of it is ridiculous#and so after the match they just... meet up outside the stadium go get something to eat and then go home TOGETHER#and it's easy and confortable bc they both know it's been a long time coming#but also it's INTENSE because of the YEARS of PINING and the intensity of the game is still there and yeah#anyway all that to say that when i saw this scene i was like. yes. this is what i was talking about. now go KISS#maybe i'll write a fic about it at some point. who knows. just obsessed with this idea lately#kagehina

in my idealized version of the books (the Good timeline), jericho and constantine’s relationship is not the one aaron and calls relationship parallels — it’s constantine and joseph. in this essay i will *gets taken out by cassandra clare’s snipers*
#maybe i’m biased because i like that freak so much. but like.#it is implied joseph did become constantine’s counterweight after jerichos death (or just the only logical reasoning)#there is no way that freak went THAT crazy post constantine’s death without having his soul tied to him at least a little bit#anyway. whatever#calron#magisterium#the magisterium#and idk unpopular opinion. in the way i characterize constantine (with several implications that he has bipolar two and the entirety of the#third mage war was him in a extreme manic state as his entire goal shifted from necromancy to living forever) his relationship with joseph#is absolutely bonkers#allow me to do an insane semi canon half headcanon lore drop in the tags#with my previous hc in mind i think his relationship with joseph often flips from a friend(who admittedly indulges his worst habits#whether subconsciously or not at first) to a lover (REMINDER HES 22.)to a father to a worshipper. all in like the span of a week. FOR YEARS#joseph was likely the only person constantine trusted despite having an army of followers and vice versa#i don’t personally think constantine ever blamed joseph for jerichos death (even if in some ways it was his fault). in his mental state he#physically couldn’t.#also i never said this relationship was healthy#yall ever seen hannibal nbc. where hannibal is high key in love with will and is absolutely devoted to him above all else (even his romanti#relationships)? yeah that. and hannibal is DEVOTED to will regardless of circumstance#hey wait was does that describe. joseph and constantine in my eyes#but WAIT there’s more. who else does that describe? call and aaron. call bending the laws of physics and choosing aaron over tamara at ever#possible moment#OBVIOUSLY. before someone brings it up. yes aaron and call are written to parallel jericho and constantine so they do. they do the whole#necromancy schtick. i’m just saying in my ideal world there would be greater emphasis on constantine and joseph’s relationships that’s only#between the lines in canon#like please can we get an actual reasoning as to why joseph is Like That. WAS IT BC THEY WERE COUNTERWEI#joseph posting#constantine madden#oh wait. the necromancy is paralleled between joseph wanting constantine back (and basically going to great length to do so cough cough#stalking a child)

I’m such a sucker for ill timed kink discovery
I’m talking about Steve Has A Hair Pulling kink but doesn’t really know it. He’s always really liked when people play with his hair but
He gets close to Eddie. Because Eddie gets close to Robin and they have a bond that doesn’t make sense to Steve and he’s a little jealous over it but whatever, fine. It takes a few months for Steve to really warm up to Eddie.
And then it’s over.
They start cuddling. Only, it’s not cuddling? It isn’t. Steve just gets high with Robin and Nancy and Jonathan and Eddie and everyone is so nice and so chill and things aren’t weird like they used to be. So Steve relaxes, splays his feet out in Robin’s lap as he lays his head in Eddie’s lap. It’s a first and Eddie definitely freezes for a good few seconds when Steve does it but he lets it happen
He doesn’t touch Steve the first time.
He touches him the second time. When they’re all hanging out and the lights are low and Steve does it again and Robin only halfway gives him a weird look. It doesn’t stop Steve form blinking tired eyes up at Eddie, watching the way he gulps and hovers a hand over Steve’s face.
“I like when people pet my hair,” He says unhelpfully, so high he can barely concentrate. Eddie makes a soft noise and blinks down at him. “You should- you should do that.”
Eddie doesn’t hesitate for long, his fingers carding through. Touching the scalp, nails catching.
It’s the first time Steve has ever broken out into goosebumps over something so simple.
And then it becomes a habit. Steve falls asleep in Eddie’s lap and it becomes a habit because Eddie can’t seem to stop and Steve can’t seem to stop him. So he sits in front of Eddie whenever he can. Lays all over him, high or not.
One day, it all goes to shit. He’s high again, head placed in Eddie’s lap. Ignoring whatever movie they’re watching in the dark. Eyes closed and mind drifting as Eddie pets him. Steve isn’t sure how his hands never get tired but he isn’t complaining.
Robin screams at an ill timed jump scare and of course, of course. The universe loves to mock Steve. Eddie’s hand clenched reflexively and he pulls, PULLS at Steve’s hair. Sudden and hard. Just yanks from the root and-
Steve feels it like a shock collar. Like a bolt of lightning. Right into his scalp, a shiver that works its way down his body. He’s half hard before he can really do anything about it. And of course he had to panic. What else can he do but bolt upright and off the couch? Stumbling toward the nearest bathroom before anyone can think much of it? Mumbles off an excuse about being dizzy.
Eddie is at the door once Steve gets out. Once he splashes his face with cold water and tries to wills away his sudden boner and WHY the FUCK he would get one in the first place. Past the whole “maybe I like guys” thing that he’s been ruminating on since freshmen year.
Eddie is so sweet to him, worried that Steve really got too high. He’s even ready with a bottle of water. It’s painful and it makes Steve feel even worse.
It isn’t supposed to happen again but it does. Yes, it does. The next time Steve gets high, he tries not to sit next to Eddie. They’re at the trailer this time. But Steve is Steve and high Steve loves attention. So he ends up laying all over Eddie again, eyes drifting shut.
It’s Eddie’s fault this time.
His fingers drift far into chestnut locks. Sinking deep, deeper than usual. Just to clench up and pull. It’s light, almost unnoticeable. But it’s enough for Steve’s eyes to pop open again. To look up at Eddie in wonder, mouth open on a silent noise. And Eddie is looking back, watching Steve with a deer in headlights expression. He goes “Huh.” Like he just figured something out, like he just solved a problem.
Steve should have seen it as a warning.
He also should have stopped using Eddie as a jungle gym.
The third time is even worse. Because they both know now, don’t they? But neither of them will talk about it. No, that would be too much.
Eddie pats his lap like an invitation and no one even thinks it’s weird. Steve doesn’t care if they do. He looks forward to these weekly movie nights more than ever now.
Robin isn’t on their couch tonight. She hasn’t given any inkling that she knows what’s going on but she probably suspects Steve has a crush. She won’t mention it, not yet. He loves that about her.
And Eddie. Eddie doesn’t even watch the movie, he watches Steve. As he plays with his hair, lips quirking when he finally wraps a strand around one finger and tugs at it and Steve’s back arches the tiniest bit and his blood drains south and he’s got his nails in the soft fabric of Jonathan’s couch.
“There you go,” Eddie whispers, just the tail end of some sort of praise and- and Steve can’t really take that, can he? He bites his bottom lip to try and hide the whine that wants to escape. Rubs his face against Eddie’s thigh. Feels the hard outline of his cock, so close to Steve’s face. Fuck. “I knew it.”
He knew it, he knew it. Fuck.
Nothing happens. Steve goes home with wide eyes and flushed cheeks and a stupid amount of horniness. Eddie smiles like it’s the funniest thing in the world.
The final time is the straw that breaks the camels back.
Steve sits at Eddie’s feet on the floor of his trailer. The rest of them are smoking but Steve isn’t this time. Doesn’t want to, doesn’t need it. Not when Eddie already has a hand in his hair and Steve feels boneless and wow, this is just normal now, isn’t it?
There’s little to no pretense once the lights go down. And the night is terrible and great in equal measure. Steve is so hard it hurts, head leaned back and eyes closed. Waiting for Eddie to give in and pull his hair again. He won’t do it. He won’t just-
Not until everyone leaves. Not until Robin rolls her eyes and huffs something like ‘finally’ on her way out.
Eddie pulls Steve into his lap and their lips meet and- and he grabs two fistfuls of hair and pulls hard. Hard enough for Steve to let out a groan that is embarrassingly loud. Loud enough that he hopes everyone is really gone.
Steve discovers a stupid little kink and Eddie gets a preppy little boyfriend.

“Written mine on my upper thigh” LN4
Lando Norris x f!reader
Author’s note: My comeback story HAD to be about the winner of the Dutch Grand Prix (by 22 seconds) and @freedaxf1 ‘s husband!! I present to you, possessive Lando Norris
Summary: Lando and you have been having an on and off relationship since your teenage years. While he lives his life in England, you’re back home trying to move on but everything seems impossible. What happens when Lando finally tracks the continues cycle?
Warnings: inaccuracies about Lando’s job and birthday, sexual themes, minors dni, 18+, nicknames, oral sex!
His eyes had been glued to my body for the better part of the night. I must admit mine were doing the exact same, given with how good he was looking. In all the years we have known each other this was one of the times where I have caught myself thinking “I will never share him with anyone. He is mine.”
I had come to London for a play with my friend group and we all decide to collectively separate our schedules and explore the city. In my case, I had been desperate enough to let someone else explore me. I knew that if I spent another month without his touch, I would need to buy a third vibrator.
As I was walking into the fourth bookstore of the day, trying to find as many new romance novels as possible, thankful I decided to pack very lightly, and my luggage had some extra space. It was at the very moment when my fingers laid on Shakespeare’s “Othello” when a raspy British voice tingled my entire body, “No surprise finding you looking at England’s most profound litterateur work.”
I turned around to be met with the most crystal blue eyes I had ever encountered in my life. They also happened to be the eyes of the man that drove me insane for most of my teenage years and fell in love with. I also was not surprised when I caught him licking his lips as he was staring into mine. Usually what that meant in both our minds was “Yours or mine?”
“I am starting to believe you have put a tracker on me given I can’t hide from you.”
“You will never find it sweetheart. I am better at hiding than you will ever be.”
“Now that you mentioned it, a certain pair of panties has me feeling uneasy every time I wear them on dates, maybe that’s your hiding spot.”
“Probably shouldn’t have worn them whilst you were with me. Or even when you weren’t with me, since it’s a sign that I have marked them as mine.”
“A tracker was unnecessary. The universe has sided with you, knowing all my dates were major failures.”
“I won’t lie to you, so I can’t say I am sorry for you baby. After all, I hardly doubt you reached a point with those poor fellas where you screamed their name as loud as you did mine.”
This probably would be an ideal time for him but very unfortunate time for me to admit that I once misnamed one of my dates and used his name instead. And an even more annoying fact that he was right about was that I had never reached a point with any of those guys to moan their names, or even let them touch me.
The past 3 months I hadn’t allowed myself to get physical with anyone else but him. Everyone was slowly starting to wonder why my visits to London were becoming more and more regular. As the months were going by quite fast, the use of my vibrator was becoming an even more usual habit. The moment I die I know there’s a place for me in hell, with the amount of times I have surrendered myself to the captivating voice of this Englishman, making the most unholy thoughts about his tongue and fingers touching the most inappropriate parts of my body, as I slide in my vibrator, imagining his insanely powerful body thumping against mine, groaning and moaning his name louder than a holy prayer.
“What brings you around my place this time? Missed my cock so much couldn’t get enough of it?”
“Friend group getaway if you so badly want to know. And trust me if I wanted to fuck you so much with one single call, I could have made you travel back home and wreck me, like the good obedient boy you are.”
“I think you are mistaking me for you darling. I don’t remember being the one who came knocking on one’s door begging for a night of pleasure. Or the one who screamed the other’s name so loud they lost their voice the next day and wanted to be fucked in front of a mirror so they could see how well I fit inside of them.”
I absolutely hate it how he knows exactly which buttons to push in order to play with my brain. Well, you’re the one who lets him so, it’s more your fault, not his. Although I absolutely love it when he pushes those buttons during sex.
I will never admit to his face that he is the best sex I have ever had. He doesn’t need to know that his ego doesn’t need more boost. Ever since I last saw him, he has changed massively. His hair has turned into a darker shade, the fuzziness in his hair has been replaced by a regular curly cut and only a few strands can be seen from the excess of his beanie. He probably has grown a few inches as well, hopefully his cock has as well.
“Say, how did you find me? If you are stalking me, I should get restraining orders now.”
“Happy coincidence. I was looking for new law books about school. And also, a gift for your birthday.”
My heart stopped when he said he was looking a gift for my birthday. I sent him a month ago for his own birthday a scrap book from my last visit in London with pictures we took of each other of the different sights we visited, maybe a few sneaky ones in bed as well.
“You know you don’t have to buy me anything. A text or a call is more than enough.”
“I know, my love, but nonetheless I had to get you something. Thought it was better than anything else.”
“Surely not better than being with you or hearing your voice.”
After I managed to escape from his eyesight, I went back to my room to get changed for the night out me and the guys were about to have. We mutually agreed not to pull an all-nighter so we would be in time tomorrow for the play. With the chilly weather I was met today, I decided that along with my tight dark blue dress, a pair of see-through leggings would be more than ideal. I was on a call with the girls and as I was applying my red lipstick, a message popped up on my screen.
“Try not to catch a cold tonight babe.”
Such small messages declaring his love for me were everything I was asking for in a man and I am thankful they are parts of him. We weren’t in a proper relationship but to the people that didn’t know me very well like my friends, I was always saying “Oh I have a boyfriend, but he lives in the UK”, because he indeed was the closest things I had to one.
When I finally found the location of the club, I managed to easily spot my friends, and I was greeted with many drinks to pick from. Alcohol heaven for sure. I decided to refrain from drinking over 2 glasses so I could enjoy their company more sober than drunk and in case I needed to carry anyone back to their hotels.
After 2 hours all the girls found themselves dancing on the main floor to a remix of Jason Derulo and Lady Gaga, the dirtier the better. All the lights were flashing on our bodies and every man around us was raising their glasses to the way we were dancing. One certain man though wasn’t very pleased with the way I was dancing.
My vision was slightly blurry, but I could tell from the facial expression and the crossed arms that his blood was boiling and the more I was shaking my ass, the more he was ready to throw hands to the other men that were drooling over me and then grab me from the waist and drag me out of the club. I slowly stopped and was about to go sit down with the boys of my friend group, when I felt a sudden arm forcing me away from the couch.
“What the fuck were you thinking? Or were you not thinking at all?” his voice has risen an octave higher than the music and had shaken me to my core. He has never yelled at me.
“I was just dancing. There’s no need to yell at me.”
“Almost 50 men were one step away from getting on the dance floor and laying their hands on you. Do you call that ‘just dancing’?”
“I wasn’t dancing alone, and I wasn’t the only one dancing in that manner.”
“Do you think I care what the other girls do?”
“I still don’t get where all this possessiveness comes from? I get that we have a good time together, I love you and you love me, but we aren’t in a relationship. You don’t own me. I can do whatever I want.”
“You do whatever you want and yet you let me play with you whenever you’re near me. You never stop me. You haven’t slept with other men since we last met and you always talk about how much you are missing me. I only talk about you to my friends, and I refuse to go on dates knowing you’re in another country saving yourself. So, forgive me if I care about you even though I am not your boyfriend.”
As much as it pains me sometimes to admit, I would give anything for him to be my boyfriend. He is the only man I trust with my heart and body. I hadn’t fallen in love with another man ever since we first kissed back when I turned 18. So yes, I can complain as much as I want.
“Feeling better now? I have stopped dancing, and I will go home to wear my nun costume so no man in sight sees any possible skin from my body. Will this please you? Or should I cover my face as well?”
“What would please me is if I had you every day close to my body, wrapped inside my arms, kissing your every inch day and night, claim you as mine forever but god forbid, we are ever in the same place for at least 2 weeks.”
I do not hold back, and I grab his face into my palms and kiss him fiercely. Every time we kiss, I get more and more intoxicated. I am being drugged by the best possible addictive poison. My heart is filled to the very top and I do not desire anything else more in this world that having him kissing me until my breath is cut short.
His tongue dances with mine and the feeling of vodka mixed with gin burns my throat in a pleasing way. I can feel my lipstick being smudged all over his face and as my hands are wrapped around his neck, my leg finds its way around his waist to pull him closer to my body. Everything betrays his power on me as I can feel him growing against me and moaning softly.
“Not here. I need you all for myself. Where are you staying?”
In just a few minutes I find myself slammed against the shower wall, with the water covering both our bodies, extending the heat. His lips found their way on my neck and his fingers are playing with my hardened nipples. My mouth can’t possibly contain the ungodly moans that he is producing and fuck him nothing can ever top this.
“Say once more than you aren’t mine and I will stop being gentle with you.”
“I am so yours. No other man kisses me the way you do. No other man touches me the way you do.”
“No sweetheart, no other man is allowed to touch you. Get it?”
“Fuck, yes.”
Words barely are being phrased properly as I scream in pleasure when he softly bites my nipple after having bitted my collarbone. I have come to terms with the fact that I love it when he is biting me. It’s his way of showing that he loves me. I literally have no control of my body the moment he lays his kisses on me. Its absolutely beautiful.
“I love no one else but you. Oh, how I adore you.” I manage to mumble through the groans.
“What an angel you are. From the moment I met you I knew I was done. Oh, you are never leaving my grasp.”
“Then don’t make me leave. I can be yours, I am yours.”
He then proceeds to fall on his knees, so he can be met with my womanhood as he raised my leg over his shoulder for better view.
“Facetiming you will never compare to the real deal. Oh, my beauty.” And my hands instantly grab against his hair and pull then tightly as his tongue is toying with my wet core. Every inch of my body is trembling and I can’t physically stop moaning his name that by now even the neighbours are well aware of his existence.
“Be mine. Be mine forever. I will give you anything, all I want in return is you.”
“Don’t stop. Oh, I missed you. You take care of me better than anyone else.”
“I can’t go another 3 months without seeing you. Stay with me.”
“I love you but oh my, you know I can’t.”
“Be my girlfriend. Please let me be yours. Let me claim you as mine. Let me take care of you for the rest of your life.”
I look down on him as his lips detach from myself and the cold breeze of the shower hits me with an open mouth from the shock he just caused. I never in my life thought he would ask me to be his girlfriend. It made my heart shutter when I couldn’t have him years ago and now that I am given the chance, everything restored. All I could possibly ask for.
“You probably found the best timing in the world to ask me such question. At my most vulnerable.”
“Want me to ask you after I am finished eating you up darling?”
“I mean, no, my answer would be the very same.”
“Which is? Care to share with an impatient man?”
“A million times yes. Do you think I have spent all this money in visiting you for you to ask me that question and then say no? I would have been insane.”
“You kind of are insane.”
“Excuse me?”
“You go insane every time we kiss and then you drive me insane so we are even.”
“Insane boyfriend and girlfriend?”
“Surely the perfect match.”

Prompt: Persist | Pairing: Jegulus (@into-the-jeggyverse) | Word Count: 1008
“What do you want now, Potter? I’m trying to practice.” Regulus snarled once his broom came to a halt in front of the Gryffindor stands. James Potter stood there, leaning against the barrier, his hazel eyes focused on Regulus. Despite being hidden behind a pair of circular glasses, Regulus could make out the mischievous glint in them. Slytherin Quidditch practice had ended almost thirty minutes ago, but Regulus noticed the Gryffindor team’s captain watching them—him—for the last hour.
“Don’t let me stop you, Reggie. I’m enjoying the view.” A bright smile formed on James lips with every word that he spoke. Regulus swallowed and glanced away. James Potter’s smiles were bloody dangerous because they always left Regulus feeling weird. He didn’t even correct him for the ungodly nickname.
“The team is gone, I’m sure you’ve memorized our plays. You were here last practice too.” Slowly, he lifted his head and allowed his eyes to fall back onto James. His grip tightened on the golden snitch that was captured in his fist. “I’d like to finish out my practice in peace.”
“You noticed me?” The Gryffindor’s hand went into his dark hair, causing it to become messier as he pushed his dark locks from his forehead, ruffling his hair. Eventually his hand found the back of his neck. Regulus noticed this was one of James habits. “You didn’t tell Vanity.”
“Whether you have insights to our plays or not, Gryffindor isn’t going to beat us. You’ve lost the last two matches against us. Your Seeker is shit, I commend taking a chance on a third year but surely there were better options?” Before Regulus could go on to critic the Gryffindor team further, James breathed out a laugh. Regulus heart skipped a beat.
“I don’t care about your plays. I’m not watching your team, I’m watching you.” And another beat.
Despite the current state of his heart, Regulus rolled his eyes. “You watch me all the time. At meals, in the corridor, in the library, during our rounds.” Which Regulus suspected James had paired them together on purpose. “You even walked in on me in the prefects’ bathroom.” A memory that still made Regulus blush.
A look of offense formed on James’ face. “I told you that was an accident!”
“Uh huh.” Regulus waved him off. “What are you and my brother up to, Potter? Why must you persist in asking me out every chance you get when I’m not interested? Is this a kink of yours?”
“Padfoot has nothing to do with this. I keep asking you out because I fancy you, and you haven’t accepted my offer for a date yet.” And maybe he did like the chase—Regulus didn’t have to know that part. James was confident the younger would accept his offer for a date sooner or later. In his mind he and Regulus would be great together, he described it once to Remus that they were like yin and yang. It just made sense. Plus, for Regulus to notice James looking at him all those times, he had to be staring back. That meant something.
Regulus wasn’t quite sure he believed Potter. He never showed interest in him before the end of Regulus fifth year, and even then it was James observing him before waving when he noticed Regulus looking back at him. Surely Sirius put him up to this; a new Marauders prank. There was no way someone as bright, fit, popular, so loved and bloody perfect as James Potter would ask out Regulus Black. They were too opposite. It would never work. The only things they had in common were Quidditch, and the fact that Sirius was their brother. Although, Sirius didn’t like Regulus much these days so maybe he would scratch the last one out. Regulus had spent a lot of sleepless nights overthinking this.
“I’m serious about this, Regulus. I want at least one chance, just one date to prove to you that we could work. You might even learn to fancy me!” There was some form of hope in James eyes, he leaned in on the railing. “One date, and if you’re not into it by the end I’ll leave you alone.”
The Slytherin didn’t need time to think before he was declining James’ offer once again. “I don’t want to go out with you, Potter.”
“Regulus—please.” He almost sounded desperate, and Regulus felt himself start to fold just a little bit. He blamed the weakened state of his heart along with James Potter’s stupid smile and messy hair. “Hogsmeade is this weekend. We would have so much fun! Butterbeers, Zonko’s, Scrivenshaft got in new quills, you told Rosier you needed a new set.”
Regulus was just about to open his mouth and make a comment about how James had no right to listen in to his private conversations, when James’ eyes sparkled with mischief and his face broke out into a brightest grin. “How about this. I’ll play you for it.”
“Excuse me?”
James motioned to the golden snitch that was still nestled in Regulus’ closed fist. “First one to catch the snitch wins. If I win you go on a date with me and if you win I’ll never ask you out again.”
It was the sixth year’s turn to let out a laugh. Regulus was the best seeker currently on a Hogwarts team, and James only played seeker once in his Hogwarts career, two years ago when the Gryffindor seeker had gotten ill and he had to fill in. James caught the snitch, and it was a bit impressive, but that game was against Ravenclaw and their team wasn’t up to par that year. There was no way James would be able to catch the snitch before him. Accepting this offer was an easy out. “You got a deal, Potter.” Before Regulus could finish his sentence, James was already summoning his broom.
(And if Regulus decided last minute to let James catch the snitch and win, that is nobody’s business but his own.)
#jegulus#starchaser#james x regulus#microfiction#marauders era#the last line is completely self-indulgent

The End of Legacies
DCxDP
A/n: Random idea that passed through my mind. It's not good in my opinion, but only because I wanted it to be more dramatic but didn't have the motivation to.
Summary: Danny made Bruce keep his no-killing rule until he's done preparing for Joker's ghost. The day he was ready finally came.
Tw: Murder, swears, canonical death and torture, maybe more.
Ghost King Danny; Danny and Bruce think of each other as brothers; Danny also has an adoption habit; Danny is also Hourglass (Clockwork's apprentice)
Bruce loves his kids. And The Joker is the biggest risk to them. The monster was the reason for their fragile bond.
He's tried to kill him before. He's revived him before. He's treated him before.
He hates it. And he hates that he can't tell his children why at the risk of prolonging this horrendous creature that was no longer human.
And he'd known this would happen. He's been told it long ago by a ghost who had made him swear that the Joker will live until he gives the word.
It's been 2 decades since then and Bruce almost wishes that he was selfish enough to risk the multi-verse for the sake of his children's peace of mind and even soul.
Bruce knew that Jason's Pit Rage wouldn't be fully gone until he killed the Joker. That's what Revenants need to live a peaceful undead life.
Bruce knew that Dick and Damian would never trust him unless he broke his rule for the family. Until then, Batman was above them in his list of priorities. He hates that it's somewhat true.
Bruce knew that none of them would ever feel even the slightest bit safe with that fucking thing alive.
But he couldn't end it. Not yet.
And he remembered that day where his rule became an obligation and not a personal mercy.
-
It was a random day. Gray sky, just a bit darker than usual. Batman was out as normal, still at the start of his nightly career, when a light came towards him. He recognized that light.
Phantom.
He went to WE's rooftop and stood there, waiting for Phantom. It wasn't long until the half-ghost joined him.
"Phantom. What are you doing here?"
If it were any other hero, he'd be more assertive, more territorial. But this was Phantom. A 17 year old boy who acted as a diplomat due to his kingly status and was planning on going to college rather than spend his time as a vigilante.
He was a kid and he knew better than to mess with Gotham without insider knowledge and experience.
Phantom gave a smile that came off more as a grimace. It made Batman tense.
"I don't come to you as Phantom, but as Hourglass, the apprentice of the Master of Time. And I must have you swear an oath to follow your rule until the time comes."
"Can you expand on that?"
Pha- Hourglass nodded.
"As of now, an actual joke. As of later, a monster unnamed. The Joker will grow to become so malicious that I as King must make preparations for his arrival to the Realms. Ending him now will not stop the travesties from occurring. Waiting will at least allow for all of Gotham to renew."
Danny pursed his lips.
"I could give you the prophecy and the only warning I am allowed to give if you wish. But know this, Detective. In hearing, you will become Odysseus, Cassandra, and Zeus. Only later will you understand. Do you still wish for me to relay it?"
[ Bruce remembered this moment. He remembered his answer and how much pain it brought upon realization. He wished he refused. He wished he wasn't so prideful to think that he could've prevented it all from happening. ]
"Yes."
Hourglass nodded.
"The first will oversee."
Dick was the first Robin. He was the only one who made it but wasn't unscathed. He regretted allowing Robin to be a curse.
"The second shall fall."
Jason was the second Robin and died because of it.
"The third shall become the first and the who knows will be the next."
Tim was the third Robin. He was the first to survive Joker's torture from the family's victims. Bruce didn't realize that Tim knew he'd be the next Joker until he had an intense relapse where his contingencies for JJ came to light.
"The fourth shall fall."
Steph was the fourth Robin. She had died, but not by The Joker's hands.
"The fifth shall mourn and chase."
Tim was technically also the fifth when he returned. He lost so many people in such a short amount of time before going on a chase after Bruce.
"The honorary sixth will rule until the day gains the sun."
Duke was the honorary sixth along with many others through the We Are Robin movement.
"The seventh bathed in blood."
Damian was the seventh Robin. He's his biological son from an assassin family. He's plagued by his mother's side of his family, chased after and forever fearing the end of normalcy.
"The eighth shall meet the stars that burn and freeze."
Jarro was technically the eighth Robin. He had seen many things out in space and Bruce knows that he didn't share it all when he visits.
Hourglass finished off and Danny looked at him with sadness in his eyes.
"I'm so sorry."
"None of it will be your fault. Let me handle things here. He's my responsibility."
Danny nodded and then smiled softly.
"On another note. When you see the girl, come visit me. You'll know which one later on."
-
Bruce would visit Danny, especially on the days the realization sank in and all was done.
Danny had made a life since then. He remains a last resort for the Justice League, a counselor of the dead side of things, the official King of the Realms, and a father of 3 children: Billy Batson, Ace, and Kon.
Bruce considers him a brother due to their close enough age, ignoring the 8 year gap. So he was also an uncle and a son. He was oh so thankful to be privy to Alfred's immortality due to an apparent adventure that nobody knew about because no time had passed while he was on it.
But he still waited for the day Danny would visit. The day he could introduce him to his children as their uncle. To have a full family dinner. To have the nightmare end.
It yet another random day that Phantom had come to him. He was in his office in the manor, doing some paperwork for WE for Tim due to him having an intense migraine.
It was out of nowhere when the ghost literally tumbled in. He flew through the door but flew back in the room during Bruce's moment of shock.
"I finished! The preparations for the bastard is done!"
Bruce rapidly blinked, trying to process it. He could hardly believe it. This wasn't some sick joke, Danny would never do that to him. He wasn't mind controlled either, his eyes would give it away no matter what method was used.
Bruce couldn't hold back the tears or the loud sobs. Danny detransformed and hugged him tightly, letting Bruce cry his heart out on Danny's chest as he remained in his seat.
Alfred came to check on them and upon seeing Danny, he sheds a few tears.
-
That night, Bruce had gathered everyone. They were shocked to see Raven, Supernova (Kon), Captain Marvel, and Phantom there.
"What threat is there that we need even Captain Marvel and Phantom's assistance, Father?"
"And why isn't this a League meeting? I mean sure, the bats and birds are definitely better than them, but still." Steph questioned.
"I'd also like to know that." Helena and Jason both huffed/scoffed.
Bruce took a breath.
"Tonight, there will be another breakout. However, this one will be different. Tonight, The Joker will die by my hands."
"WHOA!"
"WHAT?!"
"BRUCE?????"
"Holy shit-"
"He's a clone-"
"Imposter!"
The guests only glanced at each other before focusing back on the chaos. Captain Marvel was the one to silence them by stepping forward with a raised hand.
"So, you guys must all be confused. Before we explain, I'll have you all know that Batman is the real Batman. None of us have been influence by anything either. Phantom?"
"Right." Phantom flew over to sit on Batman's shoulder, there was no weight for him to be concerned about Batman complaining to him later. "20 years ago, I came to Batman and told him that the Joker would become so evil that I had to make preparations for his death. And until then, The Joker shouldn't be killed. Otherwise, he'd reek terror upon the multi-verse."
Phantom smiled sympathetically down at Batman.
"I'm sure he hasn't told any of you this to not have you pressure me into hurrying what was already being hurried, in which, would only prolong the time to Joker's End. Please don't blame Bruce and understand that he truly does love you all and suffered knowing that if he killed or irreversibly harmed the rogue early, you would all still suffer the same fates but without any kind of avenging. In addition to that, many people would've not had the opportunity to be redeemed, created, and more."
Silence. The cave was silent at what Phantom had admitted. Jason was ready to just leave, Dick was ready to explode with betrayal, Babs was in shock, Tim and Damian understood fully, Cass also understood but was still hurt, Helena muttered an 'of course he did', and Duke was more than heartbroken.
Phantom eventually sighed and got off of Bruce's shoulder.
"We have 15 minutes until the breakout happens. Batman?"
Plans were made that night.
The night that Phantom, Captain Marvel, Raven, and Supernova had gathered in Gotham to handle Joker's ghost on the mortal Realm. On the other side, Phantasm (Dani), Wraith (Dan), Ace, Zatanna, and Constantine waited for the monster to come and dealt with him accordingly.
The Joker went out with a blast by Batman's hands, just like he wanted.
But he will not know eternity in peace. He will be tortured by the victims he killed and the ones he didn't for all of time until they got bored of him. And on that day, Danny will end him forever.
This is the end of The Joker. He will not rise again.

Blitzbee Headcanon
I've been thinking about several ideas regarding these two characters. From how their first interactions might be, the quirks or habits they would share, to moments when they both fell in love. For now, I've decided to develop three of them (let's say they are the softest ideas I have...);
1. Blitzwing, in his early interactions with Bumblebee, always stood tall. What do I mean by 'tall'? I mean he always tried to intimidate Bumblebee with his height, keeping his posture straight, trying to look as imposing as possible (even though it wasn't necessary, considering Bumblebee's height). Blitzwing felt the need to prove that he was threatening enough, that he wasn't weak, that he could crush Bumblebee with just a simple move of his foot.
It was nothing more than a defense mechanism. As I mentioned earlier, Blitzwing, having a high rank among the 'cons, constantly had to show that he deserved to be there, that he was strong enough to challenge anyone who dared to take his position. This mindset created a mechanism where he constantly used his height to appear formidable, refusing to lower his 'level' to Bumblebee's height. This creates a domino effect between them, with Blitzwing using his height to seem superior, and Bumblebee using hostility and sarcasm to counteract those feelings of inferiority.
It isn't until the third encounter that Bumblebee manages to break that mechanism through a mocking insult directed at Blitzwing. Random quickly becomes the first to take control, laughing heartily at such a vague insult and getting close enough to Bumblebee to counterattack. With each interaction, every comment, every conversation, Blitzwing begins to give in. Sitting across from Bumblebee, always trying to keep him in front, he couldn't allow himself to drop his guard. By their ninth encounter, Blitzwing is now sitting beside Bumblebee, too relaxed for his mechanisms to function. By their fifteenth encounter, Blitzwing lets Bumblebee rest in his lap to face the winter in Detroit.
2. Blitzwing was the first to teach Bumblebee how to ice skate. I feel like Blitzwing would prepare everything a day in advance, freezing the lake with his cannons, constantly making sure it could support both his weight and Bee's. At first, Bumblebee would be confused-why did Blitzwing lead him out to the middle of nowhere to a frozen lake? Was he trying to get revenge? That was a year ago! Did Blitzwing plan to kill him there? Bumblebee would be trying to figure out why Blitzwing brought him there, spinning around chaotic and crazy ideas, when in reality, Blitzwing just wanted to skate.
Blitzwing would be the first to take Bee's servos to push him onto the ice. And Bumblebee would be the first to fall, slipping on his tires, unable to maintain stable balance. I love to think that Blitzwing would hold him up to keep Bumblebee from falling to the ground, always keeping a servo on Bumblebee, guiding the Autobot with little tips. Blitzwing would undoubtedly be a great instructor, pointing out each mistake with a note of amusement. It would take a moment for Bumblebee to learn the basics, gliding on the ice, looking for more and more speed.
(2.1) Bumblebee would be the first to propose a race, and Blitzwing would clearly accept the challenge with amusement. Spoiler alert: it went wrong. Near the end of the race, Bumblebee would surely slip due to the high speed, sliding right to Blitzwing's feet, who would fall alongside Bumblebee. Both would awkwardly slide until they came to a sudden stop. And like any romantic holiday cliché, they would end up in a compromising position. Blitzwing, in an effort to avoid hurting Bumblebee in the fall, would likely cover him with his body, rolling on the ice with Bumblebee pressed against his chassis. Maybe it was also the first time their sparks were close enough to spark together.
3. I've been reading various headcanons about Blitzbee, and I've noticed that most of them agree on one thing: Bumblebee's horns are extremely sensitive to touch. (I didn't understand this idea until I saw Bee's horns as antennas. Receiving constant frequencies of signals makes them a sensitive spot to touch. It's literally like moving an antenna; the signal changes frequency.) (P.S. I need to find meaning in things.) Getting back to the point, Blitzwing wouldn't hesitate to caress the horns between his servos, even going so far as to examine them with his monocle. I feel like Blitzwing couldn't help himself, touching the horns with his servos, vaguely recalling what it felt like to have them in the past.
Oh, did you never think that Blitzwing, before becoming a triple changer, also had horns? Looking at Blitzwing's design, the two holes in his helmet have left me with a lot of questions. Were they part of the design, or did they serve a function within Blitzwing's body? This is my idea, where I believe Blitzwing had horns, but when he was turned into a triple changer, they were cut off.
Oh, hoppla. I think I went overboard with the text, hehe.

Pay it no mind
Part III
In which reader confesses their feelings to Gojo, but it seems these are not returned (maybe?).
Warnings: reader is on the receiving end of rejection (kinda), and the fact that I'm obsessed with unrequited love is a warning itself.
Previous: Part I, Part II
----------------------
Ikeda Haruki and you had met while you were in high school, although he did not attend Jujutsu Tech. In fact, he did not know anything about the jujutsu world or curses, the reason being that he was a non-sorcerer.
“Oh, I see… So you think they discontinued it?” Haruki looked at the products you had been holding just a couple minutes ago, touching his chin with his finger.
You shrugged. “I think so. This is the third store I try, and they just don't have it” He had asked you if you lived nearby, to which you had admitted that you did not, but your search for a certain shampoo brand had led you to that particular store.
He had laughed, but still said he totally understood, and that he would also search all of Tokyo for his favorite tea if it ever disappeared.
That made you laugh a little. “It’s not quite the same.”
You had forgotten how easy it was to engage in conversation with Haruki. That is how you quickly learned that he had only returned to Tokyo a couple months ago but was becoming a regular at that store; that he had spent some time abroad, but he had come back for work and now lived alone; and that he was sorry he did not do more to stay in touch with you.
The sun was setting when you exited the store and were about to part ways with Ikeda. The shine in his eyes reflected the colors of a sunset sky and, although nothing like the shades of blue you had grown to love, his gaze made you nostalgic for a time, years ago, when you were younger, and your hearts were probably lighter.
“Would it be okay if I asked for your number?” Haruki’s face showed just a bit of embarrassment, “I’m not trying to be creepy!”, he blushed and laughed nervously as you smiled. He was still as charming as you remembered him. “It’s just that it is nice finally seeing a familiar face. I’m sorry if that sounds…”
“No, I get it”, you interrupted him. “Things must feel different after being away for so long. I would love to catch up sometime.” You put out your phone to get his number.
***
“Don’t you dare mix your sweets with my popcorn, Satoru!” you warned him from your small kitchen.
It had been almost two months since Gojo had rejected you, but your friendship had somewhat returned to normal.
Of course, there had been weird moments between you two, like when he would mindlessly drop an arm around your shoulders and lean too close to your face, or when he would fix your uniform or try to feed you something sweet. Those things had been just part of your usual dynamic weeks ago, but now, he would back off a bit, sometimes, even before seeing your flustered face.
Now, he would do his best to just point out you needed to fix the button of your jacket and put a sweet in your hand instead of taking it straight to your lips. You did not know, but he had resolved in his heart that, if he could not give you a clear answer, at least he did not want to give you any mixed signals.
You carried the drinks to the living room and sat next to Gojo. “Are we really going to eat all of that?” You observed the variety of food in front of you that Satoru had brought and unpacked.
“You underestimate us.” He smirked and put his arm around you. He was trying, truly, but old habits die hard.
“We are going to have a hell of a stomachache after this.” You sighed and scooted closer to him. Old habits really die hard. “So, what are we watching first today? I think it is your turn to pick.”
It was usual for you and him to meet at one of your places every once in a while, to have a movie marathon and eat as much as you humanly could. Albeit unsaid, both of you were glad you were not giving up that tradition despite the events of the last few weeks.
“That one where the kid dies at the end.” He shoved a bunch of popcorn in his mouth
You glared at him. Satoru was a movie enthusiast but also a walking spoiler alert.
***
2:47 am
Your eyes opened and adjusted to your poorly illuminated living room. You had fallen asleep at some point during your third movie and judging by the position you and Satoru were in, he had been deeply asleep for a while too.
“Satoru”, you whispered. “Hey, wake up. Your neck is gonna hurt if you stay like that.”
His sunglasses had fallen off his face, so he recognized your ceiling immediately. Had he dozed off? His arm tightened slightly around your waist, and he looked at you.
“We fell asleep.” Your face had been pressed to his chest, but you were moving his arm away to sit up, your eyes on the tv screen showing the credits of the movie you had probably not finished watching. He looked at them too; his neck was a bit sore.
“What time is it?”, he asked.
You stretched before reaching for your phone. “Almost 3:00 am. We should head to the bedroom.” You yawned.
Now that woke him up. “The bedroom?!”
You raised an eyebrow. “You are staying, right? But you cannot take the bed if you don't want the futon this time.” It was not a big deal that he stayed. After all, he would do it most times.
Since you did not have a guest room, he had insisted on getting a futon so he could stay over when he was 'too tired' to go home, although he would sometimes steal your bed and force you to take the futon instead because 'it was more comfortable' and 'best friend privilege'.
Of course, you had argued that he could just teleport home if he wanted, but he would put the futon in your bedroom anyway or in the living if it was a summer night and stay over.
“Right...” he said.
It took you a second too late to realize that he might have thought it to be weird. Sleeping in the same room as him used to be one thing, but now would he not prefer going home?
"Alright." You nodded and went to the bathroom in a hurry to shake away any awkwardness.
Gojo felt relieved when you left him alone, hoping his expression had not been too revealing. He sat up straight and ran his fingers through his hair. His face felt hot, and what on earth had he imagined at the mention of your bedroom?
He thought of how close you had been just a moment ago and how easily he had relaxed and fallen asleep with you in his arms.
We fit perfectly.
He smiled at that thought but immediately felt the urge to scold himself.
What is wrong with me? We are friends.

Sleepover Headcanons—--
First Years
Content: Prefect!reader, platonic, everyone's rowdy, Sebek's getting clowned on
Other parts: second years, third years
How would the twst boys behave during a sleepover at Ramshackle?
Ace
He's the first friend who comes over (along with Deuce) and only brings his own possessions to the sleepover. That bag of chips he bought? Yeah, they're for himself. Maybe he'll be willing to share if you make a fool out of yourself, though.
Maybe the only sharable item he brought is his deck of cards, but you were quick to ban that due to his habit of cheating.
Ace isn't that much of a handful when it's just Deuce and Grim. They have their usual petty fights, but you're able to meditate it. The real problem starts when more people begin to join; he's definitely beefing with your other friends, namely Sebek. Have fun trying to ensure nothing gets broken!
He's one of the last people to fall asleep out of the first years... And the first to pull pranks on the sleeping ones. First it's Jack, then it's Deuce. He really motivates you to not fall asleep in all the wrong ways.
Deuce
He comes with Ace but ACTUALLY brings snacks and drinks for everyone.
You don't have to worry much about Deuce fighting with others, the only issue is when Ace provokes him into arguing. You'll have to break it up before things spiral into a fistfight.
He falls asleep pretty late, but not late enough to outlast professionals like Ace... Or just exceptions like Ortho. He becomes the victim of getting his face drawn on.
Epel
This is being kept a secret from Vil for... Reasons. You're pretty sure he'll get dragged back to Pomefiore if his housewarden finds out, even if it's a weekend. After all, sleepovers typically mean staying up late.
He mostly brought apples and apple products due to the mass amount of it that he has, but rest assured he brought a game or two as well.
This one right here is the initiator of the pillow fight. He ends up smacking Ace in the face while shouting at him with a thick accent to the point where everyone's just confused, then everything goes in a downwards spiral from there. At least it was fun.... But the only terrifying part was dodging Jack and Sebek. you really wouldn't want to get hit by them, even if it's just with pillows.
Jack
He was just honestly doing his best when he brought protein bars and movie disks. At least the bars are chocolate, so despite how dense they are, nobody minds too much. No one wants to mention his choice of movie genres until Ace does and gets into another small fight.
He's fun to be around since he doesn't rage after games like most of the others (sometimes Deuce is fine). The only issue is that things will get noisy when he catches anyone cheating, so you'll have to oversee the games.
He tries to stay up like everyone else, but since he's so used to his regular sleep schedule, he falls asleep first. He's the victim of having makeup all over his face and getting all prettied up in ribbons and braids. Admittedly, you joined in with braiding his hair and tail.
Sebek
This guy pulls up with his Malleus plushie and immediately becomes the target of jokes within the first 15 minutes of the sleepover. He actually does bring a few refreshments though, which is surprising. You suspect it might have been under the directions of Lilia.
He seems really on edge the entire time since he's not guarding Malleus, but once he gets into the mood of the sleepover, his mind won't be as occupied on it. Plus, Malleus and Lilia ordered him to attend for his own good. He needs peers to hang out with.
#1 game rager, and Ace/Grim are having a field day out of it. He's not good at online games at all, so his only wins are either playing against Jack or playing tabletop games instead.
Watching him chomp down all the snacks starts to make you concerned that maybe there isn't enough at all. Fortunately, an unknown hero (...Ace...) replaced his drink with dark coffee to hold back his appetite. Sebek will try to pretend he can drink it at first before he has to give up, and that's when round 2 of the jokes begin.
Falls asleep around the same time as Deuce, and immediately, everyone wants to test out if his singular lightning-shaped hair strand can actually charge up devices... And Ortho. It's a rumor that was going on for a while.
Ortho
Ace, Deuce, Epel, and Grim get HYPED when he comes because they just know he has all the good games with him. The video games.
He did research on what kind of snacks to bring, plus Idia actually gave him the advice and budget for it so his little brother would look cool in front of everyone!
Naturally, he crushes everyone in online games, but he did try to slightly nerf himself after some of the others game raged.
Surprising good at pillow fights too. He's speedy and able to dodge by flying, plus his power output can be stronger than what it looks like. In fact, he nearly knocked Deuce out cold with a pillow and had to apologize later.
Ortho charged earlier in the day so there's no issues with staying up all night. No one exactly suspects him of being mischievous because they're all focused on Ace, but in reality, he's the ONLY person who gets to have the last laugh at everyone when they fall vulnerable to face-drawing and pranks in their sleep.
Grim
Your little furry friend. He didn't really help you prepare much for the sleepover and kept trying to get into the snacks beforehand, but he's super excited for it.
He talks big everytime he starts a game and rages when he loses, requesting to play something else or to do “another round” until he wins. There is no in-between.
He accidentally sparks jealousy in Sebek when casually mentioning how often “Tsunotarou” hangs out with the both of you, thus causing another fight. It's easier to break up a fight with Grim since you can just grab him and swaddle him. Kitty burrito.
Makes for an amazing pillow or heater when he falls asleep. The only difference between during a sleepover and during usual naps with him is that your other friends get to experience the fluff as well. Note that this does not stop the pranks from happening.
Special: Ouija Board
Epel is the one who brought along an Ouija board, and Ace pushes everyone else to play it by questioning their bravery.
Already, the two people who are fearing this board the most are Sebek, Grim, and Deuce—they won't admit it, though. Each and every one of them is pretending like this game is child's play.
Jack is probably calling this stupid but plays anyways because he won't stand for being called a chicken.
It starts with a simple question of “Are you there?” and ends with panic as the planchette moves to “Yes.”
It seems like everyone forgot there were actual ghosts at Ramshackle, but it was funny nonetheless seeing everyone panic; especially Grim. You would've liked to think that he'd be used to it by now.
When weird rumors about Ramshackle start circulating the school again, you'll know exactly why now. Even Malleus asks about it during his next visit. You might've spotted Rook lurking around the dorm a few times too.

✦ warnings: isn't proofread. MDNI!!!! top!bada, top!reader for 2 seconds, oral sex (reader receiving), fingering (reader receiving), bada is a giver, one of my first attempts at smut so please bear with me lmao.
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
At this point, the school needed to compensate you for how much time you were spending watching and judging their sports teams. Or, maybe you should be paying rent, with how often you're staying here. The thought alone makes you cringe. Tuition was enough.
Your legs are crossed, and a notebook rests on your lap as you sit in the bleachers, observing the dance team once again. This time, you're not waiting for Lusher. You're here for Bada, who said she could only meet with you after practice today. You're just grateful you're indoors today, and away from volant objects.
It's been a few days since the interview, and you've managed to avoid seeing her in person as much as possible. You've been communicating solely through text, not even bothering to exchange words in class. You know it's childish, but you don’t have the vigor to deal with her head-on. Besides, this way, you can focus on your part of the project, and not Bada's... everything.
You scan the gym floor and pinpoint her. Today, she's wearing a short-sleeved shirt and another pair of cargo pants, driving you to deliberate about how many she owns. If you looked that good in everything, did it matter?
You shake your head, averting your eyes before she notices your staring. You're not even sure what the purpose of your being here is. You probably could've waited to come closer to the end of practice. it was an admittedly nice way to occupy your time while you waited, you assure yourself.
The team is working on a new routine, one that involves a lot of acrobatics. They're running through their routine for the third time. Each time, they seem to get better, their movements more fluid and precise. You watch, fascinated, as Bada twists and turns, her limbs moving in a way that seems almost impossible. She's incredible. She's probably the best dancer on the team, not that you would ever tell her that.
After what feels like an eternity, the music comes to an end, and the team collapses to the ground, panting and sweaty. You're a little out of breath just watching them.
"Good job, guys," Bada says, her voice ringing through the large gym.
"Thanks," someone calls out, her tone laced with exhaustion.
"Let's call it a day," she says.
There's a collective sigh of relief as the team gathers their things and starts to leave. A few people linger, chatting with each other. Bada is one of them, talking to a group of girls. You try not to stare, but it's hard not to notice the way she laughs and smiles around them.
You look away, darting your eyes around the room, when someone catches your eye. Once you realize who it is, your blood runs cold. How did you not notice her before? Probably because of Bada. Damn that woman.
Aiki is on the opposite side of the gym, standing near the door. She's talking to someone and hasn't seemed to notice you yet.
The last thing you need right now is to run into Aiki. That encounter last year was awkward enough. You have no interest in rehashing the whole mess, especially with Bada so nearby.
You snatch your stuff, flying down the bleachers at a speed you did not realize you were capable of. You take the steps two at a time, adrenaline is burning in your veins, nearly tripping over yourself in the process.
You finally reach the bottom, and without a second thought, duck under the bleachers, hiding yourself from view like a criminal hiding from the police.
Your heart is racing, and you lean against a pole, trying to catch your breath. You peek out and see Aiki still hasn't noticed you. She's chatting animatedly with whoever she's talking to and doesn't seem concerned about finding you.
You breathe a sigh of relief, and slide down to the ground. You rest your head against the pole, and close your eyes, willing your heart rate to slow down. This was ridiculous. You needed to exercise more.
"What the hell, y/n?" a familiar voice calls from behind you. You scream, jumping up and banging your head on the metal.
"Ouch," you hiss, rubbing the tender spot.
"What are you doing?" Bada asks, her tone equal parts amusement and annoyance.
"Uh, nothing," you say, trying to hide your embarrassment.
"This is so weird," she states.
"Sorry," you mutter, ducking your head.
"Are you okay?" she asks, her tone softening.
"I'm fine," you say, brushing her off.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes," you sigh.
She takes a step towards you. "I can help you. I'm a nurse's aid, remember?" she points out, a playful smile tugging at her lips.
"No, it's fine, I'm okay."
"Okay, well, if you're not gonna tell me what's going on, can you come out from under there, at least?"
"Uh—"
"Y/n?!" Lusher's voice rings out, running up to the bleachers.
"Shit," you whisper. You did not need two witnesses present for this mortifying experience.
"What are you doing?" Lusher says, peering over Bada's shoulder.
"Nothing," you call, trying to sound casual.
"Why are you hiding under the bleachers right now?"
"I'm not," you lie, wincing.
"Y/n," Bada says, shaking her head.
"Shhh," you hush.
"You're ridiculous," she chuckles.
"Both of you, come!" you hiss.
"Is she serious right now?" Lusher whispers to Bada.
"Apparently," she sighs.
"Come on," you say, reaching out and grabbing Bada's wrist.
You pull her towards you, and she stumbles, losing her balance and landing on top of you. The both of you yelp in surprise, and a laugh escapes your mouth. It's surprisingly comfortable. You resist the urge to pull her closer.
"Sorry," Bada apologizes, her face inches from yours.
"It's okay," you say, your breath catching.
You're suddenly aware of the warmth of her body and the closeness of her lips.
"Uh, we should probably get up," she murmurs.
"Right," you say, nodding, but neither of you move.
"Hello?! Are you about to have sex?!" Lusher's annoyed voice snaps you out of your trance.
"No! uh, let's get up. Seriously," you say, gently pushing Bada off.
“Good idea,” she agrees.
Bada stands up, and holds out her hand, helping you up.
"Thanks," you mumble, feeling your face grow hot.
"Y/n, seriously, what is going on?" Lusher demands, her patience wearing thin.
You step toward her, glaring. "When did Aiki join the dance team, huh? Why didn’t you tell me?”
Lusher's mouth widens into an 'o'. She sticks her finger up, gearing up to defend herself.
"Um, she didn’t,” Bada cuts in. "She's just helping us choreograph some of our routines."
"Oh," you say.
"She’s really good, so I thought it’d be fun to collaborate with her,” Bada explains.
"So, she's not a member of the dance team," Lusher clarifies, giving you a pointed look.
"Nope," Bada says.
"Oh, well, uh, good," you say, a mixture of confusion and relief swirling within you.
"So, why are you asking about Aiki?" Bada asks, rubbing the back of her neck.
"She's my ex."
"What?" Bada's mouth drops.
"Yeah,” you admit, woefully.
"Really?"
"It's a long story," you sigh.
"Huh," Bada says, looking stunned.
"So, that's why you were hiding under the bleachers?" Lusher inquires.
"Yeah. I didn't feel like talking to her."
Bada still looks dumbfounded. She's staring at you, and it's starting to make you nervous.
"Well, that’s silly! But I'm glad you're not in danger, or whatever," Lusher says.
"No. I was,” you deadpan.
Lusher snorts and shakes her head. "Anyway, I know you're here for Bada. I just wanted to make sure you were okay. I'll leave you guys be," she says, wiggling her eyebrows, out of Bada's sight.
You hiss at her, imagining strangulation.
"Bye, Bada. Bye, y/n. I'll see you at home," she calls, sauntering away.
You shoot her a middle finger.
"Bye," Bada says with a small wave.
She turns to face you, and she stares at you, hard, her eyes unreadable. Your stomach churns with anxiety.
"Nothing," she says, a small smile forming on her face.
"What are you smiling at?"
"I just didn't know that Aiki was your ex-girlfriend."
"There's a lot you don't know about me," you retort.
"True," she says, the smile never leaving her face.
"Anyway, can we get going now? We have work to do," you say, trying to get the conversation back on track.
"Right," she says. "Lead the way."
You walk side by side, the silence between you thick and uncomfortable.
"So," she starts, clearing her throat. "I was thinking...would you mind stopping somewhere and getting something to eat?"
You stop walking.
"Why? Are you hungry?" you ask, suspicious.
"Yeah, a little," she says, rubbing her stomach.
"What are you craving?"
"Anything is fine," she says, a little too quickly.
"Bada, just tell me," you groan, annoyed.
"Okay, fine. I've been wanting to try this new Korean BBQ place that opened a few blocks away."
You bite the inside of your cheek. Of course, she wants to go to a restaurant. You're not sure why you were expecting anything else.
"Um, I guess we could do that," you say, hesitantly.
"Great!"
You follow her as she leads you out of the gym and into the bright, warm afternoon sun.
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
You find yourself sitting in the booth across from Bada, staring at a plate of food.
"What's wrong?" Bada asks, noticing your apprehension.
"Nothing," you reply, forcing a smile.
"Okay," she says, not sounding convinced.
You pick up a piece of meat and put it on your plate. The smell is amazing, and your mouth waters.
"Are you going to eat?" Bada asks, gesturing towards your untouched food.
"Yeah," you reply, picking up a piece and bringing it to your lips.
"So, um, how have you been?" she asks, breaking the silence.
"Fine," you say, taking a bite.
"That's good."
"Yeah," you say, chewing.
"And, uh, how's your part of project going?"
"It's going," you respond, swallowing.
"Cool."
"Mhm," you hum, not bothering to elaborate.
You hear a sigh. "Do you always have to be like this?" she asks, exasperated.
You huff. "Like what?"
"Cold. Distant," she says.
"Excuse me?" you snap.
"You're always so closed off. It's frustrating."
You drop your chopsticks. "Are you messing with me right now? You're the one that's been standoffish since I've met you. And what was with that whole moving out situation that you still haven't given me an explanation for, by the way?"
Her face softens. "Look, I'm sorry about all that. I was just...going through something."
"What were you going through?"
She averts her gaze, and fidgets with her chopsticks.
"Hey, it's okay, you don't have to tell me," you say, feeling bad for pushing her.
She bites her lip, and your eyes are drawn to the movement.
"I don't mind telling you, but can it wait until later? I don't know if it's the right time."
You nod, and return to eating, a little more at ease than before.
"So, you and Aiki?" she says, after a beat.
You freeze. You were hoping that she had forgotten about that.
"Yep," you say, your voice tight.
"How did it happen?"
You shrug. "It was just a short high school fling. But, you know, first lesbian heartbreak and all."
She snorts. "I get that."
"Really?" you respond, leaning forward. You're too nosy to pass up on this.
"Yeah," she says, a little sheepish.
"Who was it? Do I know them?"
"I'm not telling you."
"Is it Doyeon?" you guess, grinning.
Bada nearly chokes on her food. "What?! No. She's just...no," she sputters.
"Tatter?"
Bada squeals, shoving her head in her hands. "Ew, no! She's like a sister to me."
"Hm," you say, tapping your chin.
She glares at you. "It's none of your business."
You shrug. "I'm just surprised, that's all," you say, nonchalant.
"Why?"
"Well," you begin, resting your elbows on the table. "You're like, a total heartthrob. Everyone's crazy about you."
She lets out a bark of laughter. "No, I'm not," she says, dismissive.
"You are," you insist. "Do you know the vile things I've heard women say about you? I'm surprised you don't need bodyguards. You have literal fangirls."
She rolls her eyes. "Okay, maybe a few girls like me. But, they're not crazy."
"I beg to differ."
"Whatever," she laughs.
"All I'm saying is that I'm surprised you've gotten your heartbroken by women before. It seems like you'd be able to get any girl you wanted, and keep them."
Her face grows solemn. "It doesn't always work like that," she says.
You're taken aback. Her eyes are a storm, dark and intense.
"I guess you're right," you agree, trying to break the tension.
She clears her throat. "Let's just eat."
You're confused, and a little worried, but you're also starving.
"Right," you say.
The rest of the meal is silent, the two of you not making eye contact.
After a few minutes, she finally speaks up.
"Are you ready to go?"
"Yes," you reply, grateful to be leaving.
"Let's get going, then," she says, grabbing her card.
You slide your backpack across the seat, toward your body. "I'll pay," you offer, pulling your wallet out.
"No, it's fine," she insists, reaching across the table and swatting your hand away.
"Bada," you warn, a little annoyed.
"It's just one meal, and I asked you to come here with me. It's only fair that I pay."
You open your mouth to protest, but the look on her face stops you.
"Fine," you grumble, shoving your wallet inside your bag.
"Thank you," she says, giving you a small smile.
She gets up, and heads for the door. You follow her lead, getting up from the table, uneasiness settling in your stomach.
The two of you make your way to the cash register, where the hostess greets her enthusiastically. She hands her the bill, and Bada hands her the credit card, and the hostess takes it, grazing Bada's hand with a coy smile. You glance at one of the tables nearby, contemplating how much of a hassle it'd be to gouge your eyes out with chopsticks. You decide against it, knowing that you'd probably be banned from this delicious restaurant and would never be able to return. You sigh, depressed, and when you focus on Bada again, you're caught off guard by what you witness. Bada thanks the hostess and turns to leave, not bothering to wait for the receipt. The hostess frowns and calls out a goodbye, which is met with Bada's disinterested wave. You trail behind her, raising an eyebrow at her, and she ignores your questioning look.
Rather, Bada grabs your wrist and guides you outside. You try not to notice the way her palm feels against yours. Yet, you are unable to suppress the smirk that emerges on your face.
Once you're outside, she drops her hand, and you're reminded of the discomfort that occurred in the restaurant.
You squint. The sun has started to set, casting a glow over the city. The streets are crowded, the hustle and bustle of people passing by.
"Give me your bag," Bada demands, holding out her hand.
You gape at her, then clutch your backpack, surveying your surroundings for any law enforcement. "Sorry, what?"
"Your bag. Give it to me." she repeats, her hand still extended.
"Are you trying to rob me?" you ask, baffled.
"What? No. Why would I do that?" she clarifies, incredulous. "I'm walking you home, and we have a long way to go. Your bag is gonna get heavy. So, give it to me." she explains, wiggling her fingers.
"Oh," you say, feeling foolish. You loosen your grip on your bag. "No need for that! I can take care of myself."
She gives you an impatient look. "Do you have to argue with me about everything? Just let me walk with you, please."
"Fine," you relent, sliding the backpack off your shoulder and handing it to her.
"Thank you," she sighs.
She takes a step closer to you, and to your surprise, laces her free arm through yours.
"Lead the way," she instructs, motioning ahead.
You stare at the place where your arms are interlocked. "What are you doing?" you question, alarmed.
"What does it look like? I'm walking with you."
"Uh, I guess," you say, your heart racing.
"Ready?"
"Sure" you mutter, defeated.
"Let's go."
You begin walking, your arms intertwined. Your pulse is erratic, and the closeness of her is sending heat waves throughout your body. You're sure she can feel the beating of your heart.
You walk in silence, the sounds of the city filling the air.
"I'm sorry if I got a little weird back there," Bada says, breaking the silence.
"It's okay."
"No, it's not. I didn't mean to make things awkward. I just...get a little sensitive when it comes to talking about my love life."
"Really?"
"Yeah," she admits, sighing.
"Well, that's understandable. It's hard talking about failed relationships."
"Exactly," she says, turning to look at you. "But, thank you for understanding."
You feel the weight of her stare, and a blush rises to your cheeks. What was going on with you right now?
"Don't mention it."
"Y/n," she says, her voice low.
"Yeah?"
"Thanks for going to dinner with me."
"Of course," you say, your words caught in your throat.
"I had a really good time."
You can't think of a response, her brown eyes drawing you in.
"Me too," you manage.
Her mouth curves into a grin.
"Can I do something?" she whispers.
"Um, yeah, sure."
She leans in, and adjusts a strand of hair that's fallen onto your face. Your breathing quickens. You didn't even realize that a strand was in front of your face. Her eyes are locked onto yours, and her hand lingers on the side of your face.
"Better," she says, her face centimeters away from yours.
You swallow. "I- uh- thank you."
She pulls away, and a sense of disappointment settles within you.
"It was nothing," she says, her eyes twinkling.
"Okay," you reply, unable to form a coherent sentence.
You're both silent again, and the rest of the walk passes in a blur. Before you know it, you're at your doorstep.
"This is it," you say, turning to her.
"This is your apartment?"
"Yep," you confirm, reaching into your pocket for your keys.
"Alright, cool," she says, tossing you your backpack.
You catch it, the straps hitting you in the face. Please stop this madness, you think. At least you caught it. Maybe there's still hope for you.
"Thank you," you say, slinging it onto your back.
"Of course," she flashes you a bright smile, and your heart skips a beat. “I had a great time.”
“Me too,” you confess, your palms sweaty. "I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow," she echoes, her voice soft.
You're not sure what else to say, so you give her a small wave and head for the door.
"Goodnight, y/n," she calls gently, as you reach for the handle. You turn to look at her, and her eyes are shining, a smile tugging at the corner of your lips.
"Goodnight, Bada," you respond, giving her a smile.
She nods, and with one final glance, she turns and walks away. You watch her retreating figure, and let out a breath you didn't realize you were holding.
"What the hell was that?" you whisper, your head spinning.
You enter your apartment. It's dark. Lusher must not be home, which makes you want to cry. You wanted to talk to her about today. You throw yourself onto the couch. You replay the evening's events in your head, and as you do, you feel an incoming headache.
You sigh, and close your eyes. Tonight was weird. Really, really weird.
Your phone buzzes, and you grab it from the coffee table. You have one new message.
You unlock your phone, and check the message. It's from Bada.
Bada: hey, did you get inside your apartment alright?
Y/N: yes
Bada: good. i was just making sure.
Y/N: thanks.
Bada: no problem. :)
You stare at the screen, and quickly type out a response.
Y/N: thanks for tonight. i had a really great time.
Bada: me too.
Bada: we should do it again sometime!
Bada: I mean, other than our meet-ups for the project.
This is when you remember for the first time since the end of dinner that the two of you are doing a project together. That was the original reason for meeting.
You: yeah, definitely.
Bada: awesome!
Bada: sweet dreams <3
Y/N: night.
You throw your phone down. Your head is reeling. As you lay there, the sound of your heartbeat in your ears, the memory of her fingers brushing your cheek plays in your mind. The warmth of her touch. The softness. And her eyes. Her eyes.
You let out a sigh, and rub your temples.
"Get a hold of yourself," you mumble.
But, no matter how much you try, you can't stop the butterflies in your stomach, or the warmth in your chest. Something shifted today. Maybe it shifted from the moment you began working on this project together. With every meeting, Bada proved to you that she's not the stuck-up, self-centered person you thought she was. No. She's smart. And she's kind. So, so kind. Gentle. Talented. Nothing aligned with the image of her that you created in your head.
As much as you've tried to push these feelings away, deny them, repress them, they keep coming back. And with the way she's acting, the way she's been treating you, it feels like she may feel the same. But, what if you're wrong?
The thought scares you. If she didn't reciprocate, the embarrassment would be insurmountable. It would ruin everything. Your seemingly newfound friendship. The project. Regardless of how great tonight was, you cannot help but think back to that day in the locker rooms, and how dismayed she sounded at the thought of asking you out. Even if her feelings have shifted and she finds you attractive now, what if that's all that it is? Attraction. Lust. The thought of it makes you nauseous. You're not sure you could survive her using you and then discarding you, like some kind of toy, like the other ones.
No, it's better to remain friends. Just friends. Besides, you're sure that these feelings will dissipate soon. They have to. Right? Maybe you'd just steer clear of her for a little while to be safe. It'll give her the space she needs to forget about this, and give you the time to bury these stupid feelings.
You decide to text her.
Y/N: hey, i'm really tired. can we reschedule tomorrow's study session for next week?
She replies almost immediately.
Bada: yeah, no problem. are you okay?
Y/N: yes
Y/N: just had a long day.
Bada: alright, take care.
Y/N: will do.
Bada: oh, and one more thing.
Y/N: ?
Bada: thank you again.
Bada: i mean it.
Bada: and i'm glad that we're friends.
Your stomach flutters. Friends. Yes. This is exactly what you need.
Bada: goodnight.
Y/N: sweet dreams.
You toss your phone onto the couch, and get up. You're exhausted. Physically. Emotionally. You need to get to bed. You trudge to the bathroom, and wash up. Then, you change, and climb into bed. As you drift off to sleep, a million thoughts are swirling through your mind. But, the one that lingers is the image of her eyes, warm and bright, staring at you.
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
You're lying in bed, your laptop open, the blue light washing over you. The room is silent, save for the sounds of your keyboard, the tapping of keys. It's late. Really late. But, you can't sleep. Every time you close your eyes, you see her. Those brown, inviting eyes.
You groan and sit up. You need a distraction. You can't use your phone, because you'd have to face the dozens of unread texts from Bada that have been collecting dust for the past couple weeks. You haven't talked to her at all since that night, even going as far as to skip the class that you have with her. It seems like she's given up trying to reach you, as today is the first day you've gone without a message from her. Thank God.
You pull your laptop onto your lap, and open a random YouTube video.
It's a funny skit. A couple. They're arguing. About something mundane, trivial. You find yourself laughing. For a moment, you forget about her. But, the feeling doesn't last. Because, after the skit is over, the next video starts.
It's a music video. Two women. They're singing. It's a love song. You can't focus on the lyrics, the images, the sound. All you can see is her. Those eyes.
You slam the laptop shut and throw it onto the bed.
"Dammit," you mutter.
You can't think straight. Everything is clouded by her. By Bada. You're losing your mind. You need air.
You stand and walk to the window. You look outside. It's quiet. There are few cars, no people. Just the lights, casting their glow upon the buildings.
You rest your head against the window, and sigh. You've never felt this way before. It's maddening. Infuriating. But, you can't help it.
You hear your door open, and Lusher steps into the room.
"Hey," she greets.
"Hi."
"What are you doing up?"
"Couldn't sleep," you reply, not turning around.
Lusher leans against the wall, studying you. "You okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"Y/n," she sighs, "You know that you can tell me anything."
"I know."
"So, what's going on?"
"I don't know," you shrug.
She walks towards you and stands beside you.
"Come on," she insists, "Tell me."
"It's stupid," you grumble, shaking your head.
"I'll be the judge of that."
"Fine," you relent.
"Let's hear it," she presses.
"Well," you start, "It's about Bada."
Lusher smirks. "I knew it."
"You knew what?"
"That you had a crush on her."
"Wait, what?" you splutter, turning to face her.
"You're so obvious," she accuses, crossing her arms.
"No, I'm not!"
"Oh, please," she laughs, "Even when you claimed to hate her it was written all over your face. I mean, why else would you be so upset over your roommate of one day leaving you? Because you had a humongous crush on her and got embarrassed when she seemingly rejected you!"
"That's not it at all," you retort. "It was the principle! I mean, filing a complaint against me is crazy."
"Y/n," she says, gently. "You have a crush. It's normal."
"Yeah, well, I'm not sure if the feelings are reciprocated."
"You know, the day that you guys got paired up for that project, she sent me a text asking me what kind of coffee you liked. We'd never even texted before that," she reveals.
You blink in disbelief. "What?"
"Yeah," she chuckles. "Apparently, she was trying to get on your good side and impress you."
"Wow," you mumble.
"But, I guess I ruined it for her," she jokes.
"Why'd you tell her about the coffee?"
"Because, I'm your friend. And I could tell that you liked her. A lot."
"I don't know," you say, shaking your head. "Maybe it doesn't mean anything. She's a flirt, and she's nice to everyone."
"You're not wrong. But, y/n, you gotta trust your instincts. If you feel something, go for it."
"Maybe," you respond, not sure if you're convinced.
"Just don't sit here and dwell on it," she says, wrapping an arm around your shoulder.
"Can we get out of here?" you ask, still wanting a distraction.
"Sure. Where to?"
"Anywhere. The library. A bar. A club. Just, not here."
"Alright," she says, grinning. "Let's go."
–
Lusher brings you to a house party. You're not in the mood, but she manages to convince you to come. After a couple of drinks, you're feeling a bit more relaxed. The music is loud, and the crowd is rowdy, but you don't mind. It's a welcome distraction from your thoughts.
"There she is," Lusher shouts, pointing to a familiar figure.
It's Bada. Her hair is tied into a ponytail, and she’s wearing a short-sleeved patterned button-down shirt, black baggy pants. She looks good, as always. She's dancing with a group of friends. There are a couple women standing suspiciously close to her, giving her heart eyes.
"Do you want to say hi?" Lusher asks, nudging you.
"No," you yell over the noise, "She looks like she's having fun. We should leave her alone."
She gives you a pitiful look and sighs. "If you say so."
You take another sip of your drink. You watch her as she dances, her hips swaying, her arms above her head. She looks happy. Carefree. You can't help but admire her, even now, in this house full of people. She's beautiful. Ethereal. The way the light catches her hair, her skin. She's captivating.
"Excuse me," a voice interrupts your train of thought.
You turn around. It's Aiki.
It's settled. Someone has invoked a curse on you, and you're doomed to suffer incessant encounters with unattainable women who have broken your heart until the end of time.
"Hey, Aiki," you greet, attempting to hide your discomfort.
"Hey," she responds, her gaze flickering to Lusher. "And who's this?"
"I'm Lusher, y/n's best friend. We went to school together. I'm also on the dance team."
"Oh, right! The famous Lusher," she exclaims, offering her hand. "Nice to finally meet you. I've heard a lot about you."
"Same," she nods, taking her hand.
Aiki's attention returns to you. "Y/n, I didn't expect to see you here," she notes, sipping her beer.
"Yeah, well, here I am," you laugh awkwardly.
"You should come dance with us," she invites, motioning towards the crowd.
"No, thanks. I'm not much of a dancer."
"Really? You looked pretty good when we danced together," she comments, smiling.
You laugh. "Trust me, that was a one-time thing."
"Aw, come on. I'd love to see you dance again," she insists.
"No, really. It's not happening," you say, holding up your hands.
"Oh, c'mon. Just one dance," she begs, taking a step closer.
You mull this over, tapping your fingers against your cup. "Well, maybe just one."
"Yes!" she cheers, grabbing your hand.
You glance at Lusher, who offers an encouraging thumbs-up.
Aiki leads you to the dance floor, and the two of you join the throng of sweaty bodies. She begins to dance, her hips gyrating, her arms raised above her head.
"C'mon," she urges, "Join me."
You hesitate, not wanting to embarrass yourself, but her enthusiasm is infectious.
You begin to move, swaying your hips to the beat.
She steps closer, her hand finding its way to your waist. "That's it," she praises, her voice low and seductive.
Your pulse quickens. You can't help but be reminded of the last time the two of you were this close, the night when she asked you out.
Her grip on your waist tightens, pulling you closer. Your breath hitches, and your eyes lock.
"Y/n," she whispers, her lips inches from yours.
Your heart hammers in your chest. You feel her fingers trailing along your side, her body pressed against yours. The music drowns out all rational thought. All that matters is her, the heat of her touch, the sound of her voice. Her breath is warm against your cheek. Her hand caresses your neck, drawing you closer. Your eyes flutter closed, and—
A heavy weight comes crashing into the two of you, sending the both of you stumbling backward.
"Watch it," you snap, looking over to see the culprit.
And it's Bada, of course.
She's holding a red cup, staring at the two of you with an unreadable expression.
"Sorry," she mutters, taking a step back.
You glance at Aiki, who looks like she's bordering on being concussed, and then settle your gaze back on Bada.
"Bada? Where the hell did you come from?" you question, rubbing your forehead.
Her jaw clenches. "Nowhere."
You let out a short, dry, disbelieving snort. “That explains a bunch.”
"Sorry," she repeats. "I tripped."
"Right," you say, not believing her.
"Where have you been?" she asks, taking a small sip of her drink. You study her face, noticing the pink flush on her cheeks. You'd assume it was the alcohol, but she doesn't seem drunk.
"Around," you answer, crossing your arms.
"Well, I didn't see you at class," she points out, taking another sip.
"I was busy," you lie, not wanting to give her the satisfaction.
"So busy you couldn't even give me a heads up?"
"Yup," you reply, popping the p.
"What about our project?"
"Is that all you care about?" you retaliate.
She pulls her bottom lip between her teeth, sucking in a breath. "No, but-"
"Um," Aiki pipes up, lifting herself off of the floor. "Am I interrupting something?"
"No!" you say.
"Yes," Bada responds at the same time, venom laced through her voice.
"Bada," you growl, glaring at her. "Stop."
"Well, are you not done?"
"Done with what?"
"Her," she spits.
"Alright, well," Aiki interjects, holding up her hands. "I'm done! I'm gonna head out, Y/N. I'll catch you later...or not." Aiki says, fast-walking away with a limp.
"Bada," you whisper, anger bubbling up in your throat.
"What?" she says, her gaze piercing.
"Are you kidding me?"
"What, did I ruin your date?"
"Date?" you scoff, shaking your head. "That wasn't a date."
"Uh-huh, right," she says, sarcasm dripping from her voice.
"What is wrong with you?"
"Me?" she scoffs, stepping forward.
"Yes, you!"
"You're the one who's being difficult here, y/n. Not me." she retorts, setting her drink down on a nearby table.
"How am I being difficult? All I've done is try and do the project. I've put up with all your shit."
"Forget about the stupid project! This is about us."
"There is no us," you shout, jabbing your finger into her chest.
"I know you don't mean that."
"You're unbelievable," you grumble, pushing past her, up the stairs.
"Don't walk away from me," she demands, chasing after you.
"Leave me alone, Bada."
"No," she protests, reaching for your wrist.
You stop, turning around. "I told you to stop," you yell, shoving her away.
"I'm not going anywhere," she warns, her eyes narrowed.
"God," you groan, massaging your temples. "You're impossible."
"And you're being a coward," she snaps.
"Coward?"
"You're avoiding me," she states, her voice steady and calm.
"Maybe I am," you fire back.
"Why?"
"Because, you're exhausting," you explain, throwing your hands up.
"Exhausting," she echoes.
"Yes, exhausting," you affirm. "I can't stand you, Bada. You're arrogant and conceited and-"
"You want me," she interjects, her voice barely above a whisper.
"W-what?"
"You. Want. Me," she repeats, each word slow and deliberate.
"I-I..." you stammer, rendered mute. You were not prepared for this level of confrontation. This is not how you expected tonight to go in the slightest. You couldn't tell Bada you wanted her, even if you did. And, now, you know you do. More than anything. You've been wanting her for so long. But it's not like she wants you back in the same way.
"Tell me that I'm wrong."
"Bada, I—"
"Tell me that I'm wrong, and I'll never bring it up again."
You open your mouth to speak, but the words die on your tongue.
"See," she laughs, though there's no humor behind it.
"Shut up," you murmur, massaging your forehead.
"No," she defies, stepping closer.
"You're so annoying," you complain, turning around.
She follows you. "Where are you going?"
"I don't know," you answer truthfully, stomping further up the staircase.
"Y/n," she pleads, grabbing your arm. "Just tell me that I'm wrong."
"Bada, let it go."
"Tell me," she begs.
You turn around, infuriated, your veins pulsating. "What is the point of this? Do you just want me to tell you that I want you so that you can feel good about yourself?"
"The point of it is that I like you, y/n! I really, really, like you. And you keep pushing me away! Why?" She exclaims, throwing her hands up.
You can feel the tears pricking at the corners of your eyes, but you're too angry to care. Bada's confession should give you some solace, but it only makes the ache in your chest stronger. You need to get out of here. Get away from her. You can't deal with this anymore. You can't take it. She's too much. She doesn't understand. She doesn't know how badly it'd wound you if things didn't work out. If she ended up hurting you. Or worse, forgetting about you.
"Because," you pinch the bridge of your nose, exhaling, attempting to calm yourself down. “I don't want to get hurt."
“Y/n," she says gently, stepping forward.
"Don't," you warn.
"I would never hurt you," she reassures, her hand cupping your cheek.
You stare into her eyes, searching for any trace of dishonesty, but find none.
"I would never intentionally hurt you," she corrects, a sad smile on her face.
"Bada," you mumble, her hand warm on your skin.
"I know you're scared," she continues, her voice soft and soothing. "But I promise, I'll take care of you."
"Bada, you don't understand," you argue, stepping back.
"Then help me understand."
"I..." you trail off, unsure of how to continue. "I like you. I like you a lot. But I just cant stop thinking about that whole roommate situation. And...I heard you say something in the locker rooms one day when I was visiting Lusher."
Her eyebrows furrow. "What'd you hear?"
"You said that you didn't want to me. At all," you explain, fidgeting with the hem of your shirt.
"Oh, y/n," she sighs. "That's not true."
"What?"
"I've liked you for a long time. Probably since I first saw you. That's actually why I switched rooms. I didn't think you'd be into me, and I was afraid of rejection, so I ran away," she confesses, her gaze cast downward.
"Bada," you breathe, shocked.
"But I'm done being scared. And I'm tired of running," she declares, looking back up.
"What does that mean?"
"It means that I'm not going anywhere," she promises, taking your hands.
"Bada, are you sure? This is a lot."
"I've never been more sure about anything," she states, her tone firm. "But are you going to stop running too?"
"Bada, I—"
"Please, y/n. Take a chance on me." she requests, squeezing your hands.
Was the risk worth it? Were you willing to put your heart on the line? Would she keep her promise and not break your heart? The questions flood your mind, threatening to overwhelm you. But, when you look into her eyes, the answer is a clear yes. Because, really, now that everything was on the table, when did she ever give you reason to doubt her? When did she not deliver? Maybe it was time for you to have some faith in her, just like she has faith in you, right now.
You exhale. "Okay," you relent.
"You will?"
"Yes,” you nod, vigorously. “Let’s give this a try."
"Yay!" she exclaims, pulling you into a hug. You laugh, wrapping your arms around her waist.
"I'm sorry I've been such a jerk. I felt so awkward and shy around you, I didn't know what to do" she apologizes, burying her face in the crook of your neck.
"It's okay," you say, running your hands along her back.
She removes herself from the embrace, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. She studies your face, her eyes roaming over your features.
"Can I kiss you?" she questions, her thumb caressing your cheek.
"I guess so," you shrug, feigning nonchalance with a sly smile on your face. Deep down, you've been waiting for this moment since the day the two of you met. You've dreamed about what it would feel like, how her lips would taste. You've thought about it while lying awake in bed at night, while doing homework. It's a constant, nagging thought. Her face draws closer to yours, and your eyelids flutter closed. You feel her breath fan across your lips. Your heart beats rapidly. Then, finally, her lips meet yours, and everything else fades away. It's like nothing you've ever experienced before. It's tender and passionate, sweet and perfect. You wrap your arms around her neck, deepening the kiss. As she holds you in her arms, your fears disappear, and a new feeling takes their place. A feeling of warmth, safety, happiness—more than that. When you part, the both of you are breathing heavily. Her eyes are wide, filled with wonder. You're sure your expression mirrors hers. Neither of you say a word. Instead, you just stand there, drinking in each other's presence. You're not sure how long you stay like that.
Eventually, she lets out a soft chuckle, breaking the silence. "Was that okay?" she asks, biting her lip.
"Yes," you confirm. "More than okay."
"Good," she beams, pecking your lips. "Want to go back downstairs?" she offers.
"Actually, can we go to my place? Lusher will be gone," You suggest, hoping she catches the hint. You can't help but glance at her lips. You're eager to have her all to yourself. To be alone with her. To do whatever the two of you want. If the blush creeping up her cheeks is any indication, she knows exactly what you're insinuating. She nods, and the two of you descend the stairs, hands intertwined. She stops to grab her jacket, and once the two of you make it outside, the crisp, night air hits you. It's cool, and refreshing. As the two of you begin your walk to the apartment, she leans in, her shoulder brushing against yours. The contact sends a shiver down your spine. You can't believe how close the two of you are. How intimate it feels. It's a welcome change from the distance you've forced upon the two of you for the past few weeks. A small part of you is afraid. But a larger, stronger part of you is excited. Excited to explore this newfound intimacy, and whatever may lie ahead. And for the first time in a while, you feel genuine hope.
"Here," she offers, draping her jacket over your shoulders.
"Thank you," you murmur, wrapping it around yourself.
The two of you hop in Bada's car, the engine purring to life.
"You cold?" she asks, turning the heater on.
"Yeah, a little," you admit, rubbing your hands together.
"Here," she offers, taking your hands in hers. You look down, watching as she runs her thumbs over your knuckles. "Better?"
"You're cheesy," you tease, rolling your eyes. Though secretly, her touch does make you feel warmer. Better. It makes your heart swell with affection, and the corners of your mouth turn up. It's like her presence is melting the ice surrounding your heart.
"I like cheesy," she counters, grinning.
"I'm lactose intolerant," you retort.
"Oh, no," she pouts, feigning concern. "Guess I'll have to come up with some other way to make you happy."
"I can think of a few things," you flirt, giving her a coy smile.
She just smiles, and the two of you fall into a comfortable silence. After what feels like an eternity, the two of you pull up, and Bada turns the car off. She hops out, making her way to the passenger side door, opens it, and extends her hand. You take it, and allow her to lead the way. The two of you climb the steps to the apartment, tension growing thick. Once you reach the front door, she lets go of your hand. You immediately miss the contact, and your heart rate picks up. You unlock the door, and step inside. She follows behind you, closing the door and locking it for you.
"It's freezing," Bada says.
"Yeah, sorry," you say, closing the door. "The heating's broken. It should be fixed by tomorrow, though."
"It's fine," she assures, wrapping her arms around you from behind.
You lean back, savoring her warmth. You've fantasized about this more than you'd like to admit.
"Bedroom?" she whispers, kissing your temple.
You nod, tugging her through the apartment and into your bedroom. Bada shuts the door, and you turn to her, staring into her eyes.
"Hi," you whisper, placing a hand on her chest.
"Hi," she whispers back, placing her hand over yours.
You lean in, brushing your lips against hers. She reciprocates, capturing your lips with hers. Her hands slide down to your hips, pulling you closer.
You tilt your head, deepening the kiss. Your hands move to her hair, tugging lightly.
She moans into your mouth, her grip tightening on your hips.
You pull back, gazing into her eyes.
"You're so pretty," she murmers, her thumbs rubbing circles into your hips.
"So are you," you counter, smiling.
She leans in, pressing her forehead to yours. The two of you stay like that for a moment, drinking each other in. Finally, you pull back, grabbing her hand. You shove her onto the bed, and then fall on top of her, your legs straddling her hips.
"Hey," she giggles, wrapping her arms around your waist.
"Hey," you reply, a smile on your face.
"You're so annoying," she says, leaning in.
"And yet, you're here," you point out.
She ignores this, deciding to press a kiss to your lips, her fingers moving up your back. You sigh into her mouth, your body relaxing against hers. She slides her tongue into your mouth, eliciting a moan from you. Her hands move to your ass, squeezing. You roll your hips, grinding against her. She groans, her grip on your ass tightening. She sits up, her lips never leaving yours. She scoots back on the bed, her legs spread, and you sit between them, still straddling her.
"You're such a tease," she says, her voice husky.
"Oh, yeah?" you ask, smirking. "How's this for a tease?"
You slip your hand under her shirt, tracing circles on her stomach, her abs. You can tell she's not wearing a bra.
"I don't know," she sighs, her head falling back. "Keep going, and we'll see."
You lean down, peppering kisses along her jawline. She tilts her head, giving you better access. You suck on her pulse point, her breath hitching.
You move lower, kissing and sucking her neck.
She groans, her hand tangling in her hair. You smirk at this, trailing kisses down her chest. You unbutton her shirt, exposing her breasts. You take a nipple into your mouth, swirling your tongue around the stiff peak. She lets out a string of curses, her grip on your hair tightening. You give her other nipple the same attention, relishing the noises coming from her. You trail your hands down her sides, settling on her thighs.
You're about to give her a command when, suddenly, she stops you, pushing your head away.
Before you can protest, she grips onto your waist and flips you over. You let out a squeak of surprise.
She stares down at you, a smug grin on her face.
"What are you doing?" you ask, your voice breathy.
"What am I doing?" she repeats, raising an eyebrow. "I'm getting revenge."
"Revenge?"
"Yeah," she replies, her hand snaking its way up your shirt. "For teasing me."
"How do you plan on doing that?"
She pauses, a thoughtful look crossing her face. "I think I'm going to start with..."
She trails off, her gaze focused on your pants.
"What are you—" you're cut off by her hand moving to the button of your pants, undoing it.
She slides the zipper down, revealing the lace of your underwear.
"Nice," she murmurs, a grin on her face.
You're about to reply, when she moves her hand beneath the fabric, cupping you.
"Oh," you breathe, your hips bucking into her touch.
She begins rubbing slow circles on your clit, causing you to writhe underneath her.
"You're so wet," she states, her fingers picking up speed.
"All for you," you manage to get out, your breath ragged.
"That's what I like to hear," she says, slipping a finger inside you.
"Oh, fuck," you moan, your back arching.
She adds another, long, finger, stretching you.
"You're so tight," she marvels, pumping her fingers in and out.
You moan, grinding against her hand. She curls her fingers, hitting that sweet spot inside you.
"F-fuck," you curse, your walls clenching around her digits.
"Such a dirty mouth," she scolds, adding a third finger. She moves her mouth to your neck, her teeth scraping against the sensitive skin.
You pant, your toes curling as her pace increases. She hums in response, her fingers curling inside you, her thumb pressing against your clit.
"Fuck, Bada," you moan, gripping onto her wrist.
"You close, baby?" she asks, her breath hot against your neck.
"Y-yeah," you stammer, your hips meeting the movements of her fingers.
"Gonna cum," you mumble, your vision blurry.
"Mm-hmm," she nods, her gaze intense.
"Fuck," you cry out, and as your climax approaches, she removes her hand, leaving you frustrated and empty.
"Bada," you gasp, panting. "What the fuck?"
"I'm not finished with you," she states, a mischievous grin on her face.
"I wasn't either," you pout.
"We'll see about that," she teases, her hands moving to the hem of your shirt. She pulls it over your head, tossing it to the floor.
She gazes down at you, a hungry look in her eyes.
"Take those off," she orders, gesturing to your pants.
You oblige, sliding the rest of garment off and kicking it to the side.
"Good," she praises, a smirk on her face.
She stands, removing her shirt, pants, and boxers, her toned body exposed. You bite your lip, drinking in the sight of her. She crawls on top of you, her body hovering over yours. She kneels in front of you, her fingers ghosting over your skin.
"So, you gonna finish what you started?" you ask, raising an eyebrow.
"I don't know," she says, a glint in her eye. "I might."
She kisses you, her lips soft and pliant. You part your lips, allowing her tongue to slip into your mouth.
"Bada," you groan, tangling a hand in her hair.
"What is it, baby?" she murmurs, nipping at your bottom lip.
"Need you," you whisper, your hips bucking into hers.
"What do you need?" she breathes, her hand ghosting down your torso.
"Your fingers, your mouth, everything," you reply, a whimper escaping your throat.
"Everything, huh?" she teases, her fingers dipping beneath the hem of your underwear.
"Fuck, please," you beg, arching your back.
"Since you asked so nicely," she replies, her voice dripping with desire.
She ducks her head, her lips trailing kisses down your chest, her hands pushing your underwear down. You kick the last bit of fabric off, leaving you bare before her.
"Beautiful," she murmurs, her fingers circling your clit.
"Ah, fuck," you moan, your hands gripping the sheets.
She sucks on your inner thigh, her tongue tracing patterns on your skin, her fingers never stopping their ministrations. She spreads your legs, her hands pushing your knees up, exposing your wet, aching center. She exhales, her gaze hungry. She places an open-mouthed kiss to your slit, her tongue lapping up your juices. You keen, your hands finding her hair.
"More," you plead, your hips canting.
"Whatever you want," she promises, her fingers digging into your flesh.
She dives in, her tongue flicking across your clit, her nose brushing against the sensitive nub. You cry out, your body writhing beneath her. She wraps her lips around your clit, sucking hard. Your toes curl, and a low, guttural moan escapes your throat. She hums in response, her eyes boring into yours. She presses a finger to your entrance, her tongue continuing its assault on your clit.
"Please," you rasp, your breathing ragged.
She enters you, her digit pumping in and out.
"F-fuck," you swear, your head rolling back.
She adds a second finger, her tongue swirling around your clit.
"Bada, I'm close," you warn, your walls tightening.
She hums, her fingers curling inside you, her mouth closing over your clit, sucking hard, and you chant, your hands tangled in her hair.
Your climax crashes into you, and you cry out, stars exploding behind your eyelids. She works you through it, her fingers coaxing every last drop of pleasure from you.
You pant, your body trembling. She smirks, pulling her fingers out of you.
"Tired already?" she teases, wrapping her arms around you.
She grins, capturing your lips with hers, and you can taste yourself on her tongue. You melt into the kiss, your arms encircling her.
"Get some rest," she suggests, pulling away.
You pout. "But what about you," your gaze trailing down her naked form.
"I'm fine, we'll continue this another time," she reasons, kissing your temple.
"Fine," you relent, cuddling up to her and nuzzling her neck.
She rests her chin on top of your head, her hand gently rubbing your back.
"I'm really glad we met," you murmur, the exhaustion finally catching up with you.
"Me too," she replies, kissing the top of your head.
"You're gonna stay the night, right?"
"Of course," she affirms, giving you a squeeze.
"Good," you mumble, drifting off.
You smile, listening to the sound of her heartbeat, your eyelids growing heavy.
She whispers something that you can't quite hear, but before you can ask her what it is, sleep overtakes you.

You wake up the next morning to find Bada fast asleep beside you. You roll over, facing her. She's on her back, one arm draped over her stomach, the other above her head. She's snoring lightly, her features relaxed. You try not to coo at how adorable she looks, and instead, get out of bed and make your way to the bathroom.
You take a quick shower, and then put on some sweatpants and a t-shirt. When you walk back into the bedroom, Bada's sitting up, her phone in her hand.
"Morning," you greet, crawling onto the bed and sitting next to her.
"Morning," she replies, her gaze focused on her phone.
"What are you looking at?"
"The news. Look,' she answers, handing her phone to you.
You read the headline.
'Improved conditions for the girls' basketball team after protests'.
"Oh, wow," you say, surprised.
"Yeah," she smiles, taking her phone back.
"Our project is kind of fucked now," you realize.
"Nah, it'll probably be fine. We'll just talk to the professor about it," she assures, putting her phone on the nightstand.
"What time is it, anyway?"
"12:30."
"Really? I thought it was earlier," you state.
"Well, we didn't get much sleep," she teases, a grin on her face.
"I wonder why," you reply, rolling your eyes.
She smiles wider and gives you a peck on the cheek. You laugh, her lips tickling you, your heart overflowing with joy. You felt like you were dreaming. Speaking of which, you suddenly remembered what she had whispered to you last night.
"Hey," you say, gently pushing her off of you.
"What's up?"
"Last night, right before I fell asleep, you said something," you start, trying to remember exactly what it was.
"Oh," she laughs, a blush forming on her cheeks.
"What did you say?"
"Nothing, just... nothing," she says, shaking her head.
"Bada," you urge, poking her side.
"Ugh, fine," she sighs, running a hand through her hair. "I, uh, I said I love you."
Your eyes widen in disbelief. "What?!" you gasp,
Her face flushes with embarrassment. "I know, it's stupid, and you don't have to say it back or anything, but I-,"
"Bada, shut up," you interrupt, pressing a finger to her lips.
"Huh?"
"I love you, too," you reveal, smiling.
"R-really?" she splutters, gazing at you in astonishment.
"Yes," you chuckle, kissing her forehead.
"Wow," she whispers, staring into the distance.
You laugh. "What, did you think I wouldn't say it back?"
"Well, I didn't really know," she admits, scratching her head.
"Of course I do," you insist, cupping her face.
She stares at you, her eyes wide. You stare back, your thumbs caressing her cheeks. Your heart swells as you smile at her, and her lips tug up into a smile. There's something so endearing about the way her eyes sparkle, her skin glows.
Then, she pounces on you, showering you in kisses.
"Hey, stop!"
"No," she giggles, her lips trailing down your jawline.
"Bada, seriously," you laugh, trying to push her off.
"Nope," she declares, her hands roaming under your shirt.
"Oh, my God," you sigh, giving in to her affection.
You hold her close, your arms wrapped around her. As she's getting increasingly handsy, you hear the door slam open.
"Okay y/n, TIME TO WAKE UP! I cannot believe you left the party without-" Lusher stops in the doorway, gasping as she lays her eyes on the scene before her.
"Fuck," you curse, scrambling out from under Bada and falling onto the floor.
"Oh god," Bada mutters, standing up.
"Lusher, please-"
"Bada?!" Lusher screams, her eyes wide. "Oh! My! God! How did this happen? Wait."
You groan. Here we go. "Lusher, please let us enjoy our-"
"God I'm glad you two finally got together. I was sooo tired of hearing you two mope about how into each other you were. It's about time, seriously."
"Lusher."
"Sorry, you know, I had weird premonition when I fell asleep that you guys hooked up, but I wasn't sure. Guess I'm a psychic," Lusher exclaims, giddily.
"Lusher."
"Okay, well, I'm glad it's true. And also, I'm very happy for you. Anyway, I'm going to go now," she announces, backing out of the room.
"Thanks, Lusher," Bada laughs.
"No problem. Also, by the way, I'm going to be a bridesmaid at the wedding."
"LUSHER."
"What? Okay, I'm going, I'm going. Bye!" she shouts, shutting the door.
"Oh, my God," Bada mutters, sitting back on the bed.
"Yeah," you agree, crawling back onto the bed and plopping next to her.
"She's a character."
"That's an understatement," you laugh.
"Anyway," Bada continues, a mischievous glint in her eye.
"Wait, what are you-,"
She pins you down, a smirk on her face. "Back to what we were doing!"
To Lusher's dismay, you and Bada spend the rest of the day locked away in your room, the two of you only coming out to grab snacks. And you couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. You almost laugh, remembering how hard you tried to convince yourself that you didn't have feelings for her, how you didn't want to date her, how she was out to get you.
But now, here you are, your head resting on her chest, her arms wrapped around you, her body pressed against yours. It's a dream come true.
And you wouldn't have it any other way.

Well Met By Moonlight Part 11
Hello! More supernatural fun with our boys and I finally got to write that sexy blood drinking between Eddie and Steve that I had been wanting to write for the longest time, but all my vampire Eddie stories kept turning out angsty and there was no place for it.
Got you now!
Pt 1 Pt 2 Pt 3 Pt 4 Pt 5 Pt 6 Pt 7 Pt 8 Pt 9 Pt 10
@mira-jadeamethyst @rozzieroos @itsall-taken @redfreckledwolf @emly03
****
Steve was enjoying his time with Josh. The younger boy was enthusiastic and friendly. He had even won over Tommy, which Steve had previously thought impossible.
He was going to be sad to lose him to Billy and get Chase in return.
He was also more careful about what he said around the young teen and Tommy now. As much as he enjoyed Josh’s company the thought that he might spill gossip on the pack to Billy when he is forced to finish the remainder of his service with the coven.
He was really on edge now that the full moon was coming, too. He could feel it under his skin. The way the moonlight’s strength was changing his body on the cellular level. His mannerisms and habits were becoming more and more wolf-like and less human.
He could feel the wolf’s strength in his arms and chest. Its cunning and instinct taking over his ability to rationalize.
When he shifted himself, he was able to keep himself. But the full moon was different. It stripped away every human thing about him. Maybe it was wrong for his foster parents to be afraid of him the rest of the time, but even he felt it was warranted the closer he got to the full moon.
“You can’t be serious about having him here,” Carol was hissing at him.
Steve’s lip curled as he bit back a growl. “I don’t know why it’s such a problem. Josh is going to be there.”
“Josh is a human that can be manipulated,” Carol insisted. “Eddie Munson is a made vampire with ties to the town’s oldest living supe. A close familial tie no less.”
The growl started in the back of Steve’s throat and ripped from his lips. “You are only a keeper, Carol, may I remind you?”
She put her hands on her hips, decidedly uncowed. “Yes and we used to be friends before you got a raging hard on for curly haired nerds.”
Steve huffed through his nose. “You mean the smartest girl in school, the latest in the longest line of hereditary keepers from the Buckleys, and the man who saved my life? Are those who we’re talking about Carol?”
She stared him down. “You are already facing problems with the older crowd, not being mated to your female alpha, do you really want to start your third year as alpha banishing half of your pack? Do you even realize how weak you already look to Billy? You’ve only managed to raise one of his eyebrows recently after the attack. Before that he thought the pack was too lame to even bother with.”
Steve could feel his hackles rise. His lips properly curled. “Yeah and you Billy’s bitch, too?”
Carol stepped back, stunned for the first time. “What do you mean, ‘too’?”
“Someone is going around behind my back and telling Billy pack business, Carol,” he snarled. “You one of them?”
She blinked up at him in shock. “Jesus fuck, Steve. I would never. Why would you even think that?” Tears came unbidden to her eyes. “I wouldn’t betray you like that. Fuck.”
“Well someone did,” Steve spat. “Billy knew about Josh’s news about the moon days before I had even gotten out of the mayor’s office, Carol. Which meant that it had to be someone in the pack. Who the hell am I supposed to trust if I can’t trust my own fucking pack!”
She took two steps forward and placed her hands on his shoulders. “I get it now. You want someone you can trust watching your back on Friday, but it can’t be Eddie. Trust me. I know you feel like you can’t, but you just said you have to trust someone, so trust me.”
Steve let out a low whine. He wanted to believe her. He wanted to so badly. She was right, they used to be friends. Good ones, too. “I don’t know if I can,” he whispered.
She nodded. “I get that. I can’t go back and change who I was in high school, but know that I’ve got your back. Okay?”
He swept her up in a hug and held on tight.
Behind them in the trees, a darkness seemed to taint the woods around it. A malevolent force that was all at once pleased and angry.
****
Steve was suddenly bombarded with members of the pack coming up to him about his desire to have Eddie participate in the full moon festivities. Most of them were negative.
“I don’t know how you heard about this,” Steve was saying for what felt like the billionth time. “But I don’t see why I can invite the man who saved my life to have my back during the full moon.”
“Because he’s a vampire, Steve!” Nancy hissed. “I have tolerated his presence in your life because until now it has not inferred with pack business, so as your alpha female, I’m putting my foot down. He steps even a toe over the pack boundary and I’ll be forced to challenge you myself.”
And that right there was his biggest reason why he wanted Robin to accept the bite to become a werewolf.
Steve thought about making her submit. He could have. But he wasn’t pack alpha just because he was the strongest male wolf in the pack. Oh no.
Steve lifted his chin and stared down at her, until she crossed her arms and looked away. He smirked.
Nancy rocked back on her heel and Steve knew he had won.
“All right,” he said with satisfaction. “He won’t toe the boundary.”
Her head snapped up in shock, her mouth open and eyes wide. “What?”
Steve pursed his lips and half shrugged. “You don’t want him on the ground, that’s fine.”
He turned his heel and walked away, leaving behind a stunned Nancy Wheeler.
“Steve!” she called. “Steve! What does that mean?”
****
Steve was curled up with Eddie on his bed in the trailer.
“Why are they so against it anyway?” Eddie murmured into Steve’s ear.
“Because they think that what happens during the full moon is sacred,” he huffed.
“I still don’t get it,” Eddie admitted.
“It’s this really stupid thing, ‘it’s not a secret it’s sacred.’” Steve rolled in Eddie’s arms so that they were face to face. “It’s just their way of not wanting to talk about it to ‘strangers’. Like Wayne hasn’t been to a few in his long life.”
Eddie scoffed. “It’s like they don’t realize that the world doesn’t revolve around them.”
“And it’s newer than they think, too,” Steve murmured. “According to Wayne it’s only been in the last decade or so.”
“So who arrived ten years ago?” Eddie asked, rubbing his nose along Steve’s pulse point.
Steve gasped. “That’s thing, I don’t know. I wasn’t a pack member at the time.”
That caused Eddie to sit up and look down at him. “What do you mean, sweetheart? I thought your dad was pack and your mom was bitten.”
Steve sat up, too and hugged his knees to his chest. “When I was seven or eight my parents were killed by hunters while they were abroad. It was really big news at the time. They were rich, well-liked, beautiful couple with a son at home.”
Eddie frowned. “I would have still been with my parents around that time. My mom would have been nearing the end of her cancer diagnosis, so I would have been focused on that instead of some news story.” He rubbed his chin. “So why were you removed from the pack?”
Steve buried his head into his knees. “No one has been able to tell me why I was fostered by a human couple and not a supernatural one. Only that it was right when Hop had gone off the deep after his daughter died.”
“So your parents are murdered by hunters, Hopper’s daughter dies, driving him into deep spiral, you get placed into the care of humans that are terrified of werewolves and abuse you...” he trailed off. “Honey, not to sound like a nutjob, but this is way too much of a coincidence to be natural.”
Steve nodded. “Someone didn’t want my dad vying for alpha, probably because he was too clever and too liberal minded.”
“And I don’t think they were expecting you to come back to the pack after you graduated,” Eddie concluded. “I think whoever killed your parents, orchestrated the attack on you.”
“Shit.”
Eddie was right and that really sent a chill down his spine. “I don’t trust anyone in my pack, Eds. Not a god damned one of them. I’m so frightened and I don’t know what to do.”
“So instead of having me there, have Wayne be there instead,” Eddie suggested.
Steve looked up. “What do you mean?”
“There is precedence for it,” he explained. “You said so yourself. Because god damn it, Steve, I’m terrified too.”
Steve nodded.
Eddie wrapped his arms around him and gently lowered them back on to the bed. He nuzzled Steve throat, breathing in the thrum of life right below his skin.
“Let me take care of you for awhile,” Eddie purred. He licked up the column of Steve’s neck causing him to moan obscenely.
“Yeah,” he panted. “Yeah, babe. Take care of me.”
Eddie’s fangs extended of their own accord. “Honey...I want to taste you. So, so much.”
Steve shivered. “Just not on my neck where they can see.”
Eddie moaned at how hard that made him. He would finally get to drink from his werewolf boyfriend and he knew exactly where he wanted to taste.
He slid down Steve body, the other boy bucking his hips at the agonizingly light touch of his hands.
Eddie licked down Steve’s cock, causing Steve to arch his back.
“Eds...” he whispered. His whole body was vibrating like a plucked guitar string.
Eddie nuzzled his balls and Steve panted heavily, his words lost to pleasure already. He brought up one of Steve’s legs to bending at the knee. He kissed down the thigh until his mouth was in the perfect spot. Right there on that magnificent thick muscle was a vein much like the on the neck or wrist.
Again he nuzzled Steve’s balls with his nose causing his boyfriend to gasp. He licked the spot he was going to partake from and god was the scent even more intoxicating then the throat. His saliva would numb the area so he wouldn’t hurt Steve.
“Baby...” Steve moaned, his body was beginning to quiver and shake.
Eddie’s teeth sank into the skin and Steve came immediately, his body practically levitating off the bed as his cum painted his stomach with ribbon after ribbon.
It took all of Eddie’s will to focus on feeding instead of coming himself. Steve’s stamina was legendary and for him to come that fast did things to Eddie. So hot.
“Fuck.”
Eddie could only agree. The blood was warm and golden. It tasted even better without the taint of fear and silver. He took only a few mouthfuls because he wasn’t sure he would be able to stop if he had gotten more than that.
Again he licked the area, this time it closed the wound. Eddie sat up and lined up his cock. He needed to come in Steve. He looked at him for permission and Steve nodded.
Eddie thrust into Steve’s ass and began to pound into those beautiful globes of flesh.
Soon Steve was coming again and Eddie followed soon after. Just seeing Steve come a second time was enough to finish him.
Eddie collapsed next to him on the bed.
“We are definitely doing that again,” Steve huffed, covering his eyes with his arm.
Eddie kissed his raised arm gently. “Yeah, sweetheart. I knew drinking made sex better, but holy shit that was a whole other level.”
Steve chuckled and curled around Eddie. “Agreed.”
****
Moon night approached and Steve was left without the protection of Eddie or Wayne. Despite Steve’s request for Wayne and bringing up precedence for him having done so in the past the pack was staunchly against it.
The moon came up and the pack changed. Their bodies rippled with heat and danger as humans gave way to their wolfish nature. Screams pierced the air. Screams that turned into howls.
The moon slid through the night sky and the pack surged forward as one.
The keepers watched on in silence.
Waiting.
Preparing.
Then the sun came up and in the middle of their compound was a puppy pile of naked bodies of all the werewolves, sleeping off the forced change of the full moon.
Suddenly Tommy came crashing in through the underbrush screaming and sobbing.
“Patrick McKinney was attacked last night!”
Steve leapt to his feet and Robin was at his side quicker than lightning. A slow dread filled his stomach as ice slid down his spine.
“Human or supe?” he snapped.
“Billy found him,” Tommy admitted, looking down at his feet. “He’s pretty sure it was supernatural, but the scent is too muddled, he can’t tell the kind.”
Steve looked around him and saw several of his pack with blood around their mouths and over their bodies.
“Steve!” Robin gasped as she took him in. “Look down!”
Steve immediately did as she asked. He too was covered in blood.
“What the hell happened last night?” he whispered.

monarch a trois drabble inspired by this early season gary smoking screenshot
gary could count on one hand the amount of times he's smoked a cigarette.
first was during his early days of being a henchman for the monarch. freshly turned 18 and wanting to fit in, he almost hacked up a lung after smoking it.
second was another time with the henchmen, wanting to look cool and badass after seeing brock smoke.
third was when 24 died. it probably would have become a consistent habit if it weren't for him moving back in with his mom who had zero tolerance for it.
fourth was tonight.
gary was having a bit of a quarter life crisis - realizing he has been living with the monarchs since he was in middle school. that his whole life was wrapped up in theirs. that as the years go by, how capable could he really be as a henchman?
while the trio's dynamic had shifted to a romantic relationship, gary couldn't help but feel insecure in his role in it all. even though he had entered an exclusive relationship with the two, the old feeling of worry began to rise to the surface - what if he was just an add on to their fun like he felt when he found out they were swingers.
an add on that could be replaced the moment they got bored.
out of fear, gary began searching for apartments.
maybe he needed to learn how to be out on his own again.
while him and malcolm were watching house of the dragon in the living room, malcolm had asked to borrow gary's phone to order takeout - leading him to see a text from a landlord asking gary when he would be able to tour the apartment.
needless to say, that interaction did not go well with gary attempting to explain himself but fumbling over his words and malcolm's emotions getting the best of him, storming off into him and sheila's bedroom and slamming the door.
gary's pleas through the door were met with silence and so he surrendered, making his way outside and bumming a cigarette from sheila's stash she kept in one of the drawers in the kitchen.
he sat on the porch steps, blowing a cloud of smoke into the cold air. a sleek black limo pulls up to the residence, a guild operative coming out of the front to open the door. sheila steps out, dressed in a black trenchcoat over her guild uniform. the sound of her heeled boots hit the concrete as she wishes the guild operative a good evening before turning her attention to gary.
her eyes widen at the sight of the cigarette nestled between his fingers, seeing the smoke pluming from it. "so you wanna tell me what happened tonight?" sheila sighed, taking a seat next to gary as she takes off her hat, flattening out the stray hairs that got messed up, "because i got a frantic text from the monarch saying you were leaving again."
gary groaned at the choice of words malcolm used, "he was using my phone to order take out and saw a text from a landlord asking when i wanted to tour an apartment."
sheila blinked in surprise at this new information, digesting it herself. no wonder malcolm was upset - he thought gary was abandoning them. "mind telling me why you were looking at apartments?"
gary paused, anxiety bubbling in his chest. if he expressed how he felt, would his worst fears be confirmed? he took a breath before looking over at sheila, "what am i to you guys? am i just another add on to you and the monarch's fun?"
sheila's hand reaches out to rest on gary's knee reassuringly, squeezing it firmly, "gary, where is this coming from? you're not just another person we swing with. i thought we made this very clear when we asked you to join our relationship."
gary sighs, his insecurities bubbling to the surface as he finally dumps all his emotions out there, "i don't know... i just feel my life has been all about you and the monarch and i don't hate it by any means.. but what if i lose my muscle as i get older? what if i stop being a good henchmen? then what good am i to you guys?"
sheila scoots closer to gary, "give me the cigarette, i need a smoke too." gary passes the stick over to her, watching as she takes a drag before blowing it away from gary's direction. "i know you think you're only around because you're useful to us but i speak for the both of us when i say that you're not just a number to us anymore. you're not just a henchman, you're our partner." sheila explains.
"but... i understand your concerns. you need a contingency plan just in case henching doesn't work out long term." sheila offers, "how about we start small? have you considered taking community college courses? i know you got your ged."
gary stares at sheila for a good minute before slapping his forehead, "god, of course. why didn't i think of that?' sheila gives a throaty chuckle, taking one last puff of the cigarette before passing it back to gary.
"you and the monarch both rush into action without a game plan, it's almost hilarious." sheila grins before pointing out, "i didn't know you smoked... never seen you pick up a cigarette in all these years."
"i only smoke when i'm super stressed about something." gary explains a hint of pink tinging his cheeks as he realized this was the first time sheila had seen him smoking. sheila leans over to press a kiss on gary's temple which ends up being poor timing as malcolm meanders out to the front in his robe, wondering where his wife is.
"pookums, where are you?" he whines before pausing at the sight, "you're supposed to be comforting me, not that traitor!"
gary winced at the choice of words and sheila smiled, rolling her eyes, "sweetie, calm down. gary's not leaving us, he's just had a lot on his mind that he wasn't sharing with us. we should all go inside to have a chat."
"fine.." malcolm mutters, still on the defense with his arms crossed.
his sharp eyes key into the cigarette in gary's fingers.
"you smoke too?!"

Human Buddy the senior liaison becoming friends with First Aid
SFW, platonic, familial, Human reader, implication of reader passing away of old age
MTMTE
Buddy is the human equivalent of Ratchet.
They are a Grumpy Liaison sent originally to keep Cybertronian and human relations good then later to watch Megatron.
They know that something is up all the time.
They call it “The-Kids-Are-doing-Something -Stupid- Radar.” Buddy has a habit of calling a lot of the bots “Children/ Kids.”
Distant explosion
“Thoughs kids… I swear they are going to be the death of me…” --Buddy
Even though every single one of them is older than him by a good millions of years.
Buddy senior is never too far from Megatron. They take their job seriously. Almost acting as a third shadow, the second shadow is Ravage.
On the off chance that they aren’t watching Megatron they are usually in the Med Bay or at Swerve’s. They relate to Ratchet the best out of all the crew and are often seen together talking about the most random things.
Buddy and Ratchet staring at each other.
“What are they doing?”—Bot 1
“I don’t know. Maybe they hate each other?”—Bot 2
Meanwhile Ratchet and Buddy are having a conversation with their eyes/optics about how dumb everyone’s injuries are today.
The dynamic does change a bit as the new introduction to First Aid.
Especially when Ratchet goes off to get Drift. Buddy senior meets First Aid after the dilemma at Delphi. First Aid is very intrigued by the older human.
“So… you’re a human.”—First Aid
“Last time I checked. And you’re a nurse?”--Buddy
“Sort of. I mean now I’m the new Chief Medical Officer.”—First Aid
“You’re what now?”--Buddy
After Ratchet’s departure is when the both start bonding a bit more. It first began with medical similarities between Cybertonians and humans before moving on to different more lighthearted subjects such as the latest gossip around the ship or First Aid subscription on the Wrecker’s log.
“So Aid… what’s this about Springer?”--Buddy
“What do you mean?!”—First Aid
“Aid I’ve seen your notes.”--Buddy
“…please don’t tell anyone.”—First Aid
“Kid, my lips are sealed, just tell me more about this Wrecker.” --Buddy
Over time First Aid feels more comfortable around Buddy. Buddy as much as they hate to admit it First Aid begins to look like a son to them than just a regular co worker. Has referred to First Aid as their son before, but First Aid doesn’t exactly know what the meaning of the expression is.
“Did you refuel today?”--Buddy
“I will in a couple of minutes.”—First Aid
“You said that nearly half an hour ago, go refuel son.”--Buddy
“…”
“…”
“What’s a ‘son’?” –First Aid
When Ratchet does come back with Drift, First Aid does ask him what it means. Ratchet lets out a chuckle and points out that Buddy sees First Aid as their sparkling.
First Aid is happy.
He called them his parent one time at Swerve’s.
That was the first time any of the Lost Lighters had seen their senior Liaison crumple down in happy tears. There is a lot of explanation on how much joy they feel after that.
First Aid after that is rarely seen without Buddy nearby.
After a good two years on the Lost Light Buddy calls for a meeting with their close friends and Captains as witnesses. They express that they know that their time now is coming close to an end even more being in space and they wanted to give each a copy of their will in case at any point they were to pass they wanted all their things straightening out.
There are plenty of tears shed, especially from First Aid upon realizing how short the human life span is especially at the point where Buddy is at.
“Please don’t talk about that… not now.”—First Aid
“It’ll be okay First Aid. Everything will be okay.”--Buddy
“Can we just talk about something else? Please?”—First Aid
“…Okay Aid. What do you want to talk about?”--Buddy
First Aid expresses his feelings about their mortality to Buddy later that night. After a bit of tears from both ends, they both promise to have the next few days to be the best together before the end comes.
First Aid did keep his promise till the very end.

Hi, how are you ?
Can you plesse wtite fic where snape survive the war(because someone, maybe his fem best friend save him) but he disapear from wizardind world, because he is sick of that and why not… and after many years the see each other? End is up to you. Thank youuu ❤️
//Of course! I'm sorry it's taken me nearly a year to get to this request, life has been throwing me curve balls every few months. I hope you enjoy this!//
When the dust settled after the battle, everything was eerily quiet. You couldn't help but frantically search around, but you noticed one person missing. The one person you were hoping to see almost immediately after everything was said and done. The tight feeling of dread crawled up your throat and with burning, aching feet from the battle, you ran. Ran until you remembered one of the few places Severus had shown you.
You'd known him since you both were in school, and he was someone you considered to be a close friend. The Shrieking Shack, an old, abandoned building in Hogsmeade said to be haunted or cursed, was the only other place you thought to look. Many years ago, just before he disappeared for a few years in his late teens and early twenties, Severus had brought you to the shack as a place to smoke weed a bit. Back then, you both were more rebellious. It was a safer place to be than anywhere in the castle, mainly due to the lack of nosy professors sniffing around for troublemakers.
You knew his trauma with the place as well, and Severus had a horrible habit of frequenting trauma-filled places for him. A quick floo to Hogsmeade and you were running again, searching for the rundown shack. When you finally found him, you were horrified to find him bleeding out on the floor, his neck deeply bitten from what looked like a snake. "Oh my god...Severus...!" You wasted no time in running to him, sliding to the floor immediately and realizing several things. Number one, venom could definitely be present and number two, he lost so much blood. Digging around in your pack, you thanked your lucky stars that you thought to bring a supply of blood replenishing potions and bezoars for the battle. You shoved a bezoar into his mouth, helping him consume it, then began feeding him blood replenishers while you wrapped and applied pressure to staunch the bleeding. Luckily, McGonagall removed the apparition boundaries for the battle and with a firm grip on him, you apparated back to the castle just in time for Madame Pomfrey to hustle him into the critical area for proper treatment.
It took Severus over a week to come out of the coma. You weren't even aware he was in one until Madame Pomfrey said he was awake finally. You were anxious to see him again, but when you got to the infirmary, he was gone. "Poppy? Where's Severus?" Anxiety was clear in your voice, fear beginning to grip you again. Poppy tilted her head, looking concerned. "What do you mean? He said he was off to talk and visit you. Did he not?" You shook your head, looking confused and fearful. What happened to your best friend? Where had he gone? And most importantly...was he still alive?
After 2 years, you feared the worst had happened. He must've ran off to die on his own terms, as he used to promise when he had smoked a bit too much in his youth. It wasn't until the third year of him being missing that you saw him again. You were in your flat, tending to your few plants while you were cooking when a knock sounded from your front door. "Just a moment!" You called out, putting a stasis charm on the food to prevent over cooking or burning. When you opened the door, however, you couldn't stop the tears and anger from bubbling up. There, in all his glory, was Severus Snape. His hair was more greyed, his forehead wrinkles were becoming more prominent, and his neck was severely scarred. "Severus. Tobias. Snape. Where the fuck have you been?!" Severus winced a bit, knowing he probably deserved that one. "I...I had to find healing away from the wizarding world..." Severus whispered. His voice was quieter than you remember...rougher. "And you didn't think to let me know you were alive? For two and a half years? Do you have any idea how depressed I've been, thinking you're dead somewhere and I'd never see you again?" Severus looked down at his shoes and whispered, "I...I'm so sorry, I don't...I don't have a good excuse for you..."
In that moment, though, as angry and frustrated as you were, you still yanked him inside and brought him into a near bone-crushing hug. "Never EVER do that shit again. I thought I had lost my best friend." This was new to Severus. Forgiveness. He was used to being seen as a vile, evil man who said the most heinous shit. Instead, here he was in his longest friend's home being forgiven and held as if he mattered. 'I suppose I am important...to them at least,' Severus thought to himself. He startled when you responded, "You're damn right you're important to me." Ah. He had forgotten he taught you Legilimency. Cheeky thing...using his own tools against him. "Stay for lunch. Please. I think we have much to catch up on, Sev." In that moment, Severus was so glad he gathered his courage to come see you. And he was even more grateful for your forgiveness.

what do you like about cars?
I think you knew, upon asking this, that I could only ever have answered with either an ironic one-liner or a dozen-part novel. And unfortunately, this is already the second line, so novel it is. So then, without any further ado than the literal half year that’s gone by since this was asked, let's go.
1. Engineering matters
At the end of last year (aka when I started writing this, yikes) my dear old iPhone 6S moved on to a new home because it simply wasn't keeping up with me anymore. (And again, I was using an iPhone 6S in 2023. If I say a phone is too slow, it's too slow.) I had plenty of criteria for the replacement: a smallish screen not overboard on resolution, ideally a physical media control button and/or vibration toggle, repairability, a FUCKING AUX JACK... Something like the Sony Xperia 10, whose only real issue is marketing so trash you've only just now learned Sony never stopped making phones.
And yet...
This fancy wallpapers-sporting foldable is a Motorola RAZR 5G, a phone whose too-big screen already broke (though at the edge due to adhesive issues) and those who dared try warn repairing it will be as hard as phone repairs get. Why the fuck did I buy this? Well, because it has something more important than the aux jack, proper sizing, and good cameras: it made me go “That’s so cool!”, and when’s the last time a phone made you say that? It's the cusp of a new technology, and whether it becomes the future of phones, a future of phones, or just a weird footnote, it is an island of interesting in a sea of boring. And sadly, even this island is rapidly sinking. The drive for new form factors has already boiled down to the same two phones and their evolution is sinking into the usual millimetric proportion tweaking, camera rearranging, touchscreen expanding, case material switching, fingerprint sensor moving, and spec improvements not even manufacturers can come up with use cases for. I mean, seriously, how does the iPhone 15 differ from a software-updated iPhone X (which is apparently not pronounced "x", so I guess the iPhone Twitter)? Nothing is new. Nothing is tackled differently. The user experience does not differ. And why should it, when iPhone users will get a new one out of habit anyway and many are so tech illiterate moving a button could hospitalize them? Five generation newer and 150% faster are numbers you basically have to trust, because they don't make a difference that matters.
But in cars? 150% faster will matter alright. Even just looking at it. Cars are a visceral experience to even witness, let alone ride in or drive, and the frantic engineering pursuits for performance and overall capability actually have impactful real world implications beyond "some pockets will bulge 1mm less". And their engineering involves so many fields that there’s always a breakthrough going on somewhere - which leads to another reason their engineering is so interesting: there’s simply so much of it that anyone interested in engineering will find something for them, no matter their level or sector of expertise! Interested in mechanics? Well, obviously you’ll have a field day! Aerodynamics? Don't even get me started! Electronics? You're getting more goods by the year! It spread from engine management to safety assists to infotainment to ergonomic adjustments to even suspension and aerodynamics! Sound design? Even just working on the way engines sound is a profession of its own, let alone making these barrels of metal and glass propelling themselves at triple digit speeds through hundreds of explosions a second things you can comfortably have a conversation in - and that's not even mentioning horns and chimes! Hi-Fi? We’ve spent most of a century trying to get concert hall sound from a tiny tin can where everyone sits off-center and everything bumps and shakes around and you have maybe room for two components* a third the normal size and speakers can only be in a handful of places you wouldn’t want them which may well be the next room over**!
And this is just engineering.
*Like everything in the car world, there are exceptions to that
**For those unfamiliar, subwoofers, the speakers dedicated to, indeed, sub-bass, due to their frequent humongousness are often installed in the trunk.
#stay tuned for part 2!#sony phones *are* great btw#they are sold in actual colors and they're full of cool features#their aux jack can double as a stereo input!!!

one more niki analysis.
for now.
ok this one technically i've had in mind for MONTHS but couldn't figure out how to word it until just now because i a) read hot limit about three months ago and it hasn't left my head since b) the idol exploration event.
anyway. the actual crux of this is: niki's character is specifically written to be content, not happy. these often get confused imo. the second part of this is his contentedness isn't natural, it's forced. the third part of this is no one fucking notices, except for one rinne amagi, because of course he does. by no one, i'm talking specifically character-wise here; niki in game tends to get written off as childish or otherwise doing well, and that comes directly from his other unit members.
side note: i'm fairly confident in my own reading of "niki will pretend to not be bothered by anything, ever" and this is bolstered by a few different things; a) the honeycomb summer lyrics in my last post where there's a part of the intro, "hidden the true feelings out of habit / and now you're regretting it" (rinne amagi you slick bastard) b) hot limit. like the entire story. mostly because he was being troubled by multiple different things throughout it (work, idol activities, and his family last name/father's scandal) and the only person who noticed was rinne, and that's probably because he knew the damn guy for five years c) also in hot limit, the exploration into niki seeing himself as a burden because of his illness. why did they add this into his character and then not elaborate further? i don't know. if it never gets elaboration, i'll implode. anyway, it's a part of his character that he usually doesn't show, but he references it as "not wanting to inconvenience the people around him" REGARDLESS of if the people in question don't mind him inconveniencing them (rinne). in general, the only thing he makes a fuss about is food, likely because of his metabolism and the fact that he does become more of a danger to people when extremely hungry (he has bitten hiiro before.); i.e. the inconvenience for everyone else is a 19-20yro trying to bite them, not complaining that he's hungry.
i digress.
niki has referenced himself as being content with certain things before. for instance, in hot limit, it's phrased distinctly as "just getting to eat every day is a bliss to me - i need to be satisfied with that", which comes up again in his letter from the idol exploration:
"it feels like happiness is there to fill my stomach, too!" oh, is it? is it niki? is it now?
basically, what i'm getting at is niki's expectations for life are so incredibly low, so he's satisfied with getting to eat every day. that's it. just satisfied. side note: this is why i went insane when survival was added to his profile; the way he lives/talks about living, he's been surviving more than living. this is also why i think rinne and niki work so well as a pair, rinne's into living and niki's busy surviving. though, to be fair, rinne and niki's relationship is built on this crux anyway. rinne intends (hopes, maybe? his goal?) is to help niki with what he has identified as a problem. thank you rinne amagi.
(for the record, right after i read this, my live reaction was "WHAT IF I KILLED MYSELF". that's quite dramatic, and i won't, but i figured someone might get a laugh out of that.)
this isn't the first time that rinne has referred to niki (well, more so implied) as "not happy", as it happens in hot limit, too.
"that's why i'll grant his wish and make him happy" oh ok i see.
anyway. niki's fascinating, because this forced contentedness vs happiness is so interesting to me, because beyond rinne's own read of niki, it's easily bought by everyone else he knows. most notably, kohaku and himeru, as their impressions come off of reading niki quite differently to rinne's:
(i grabbed these screenshots after i finished the event for the time being. rinne's i grabbed before LMAO)
both of them appreciate and even look up to niki in certain ways, and they both like his focus on food. but what's interesting is how both of them see him vastly different from rinne; where rinne focuses on his low self impression, himeru thinks niki's perspective of the world is interesting, as well as i think he gives credence to niki being selfless, which kohaku sees him as both childish and reckless. i'm pretty sure both himeru and kohaku see him as more naive than themselves, which is a fair read. this also does line up with what happens in hot limit; while rinne is aware of the troubles niki's going through, himeru and kohaku are both surprised at the end.
niki's own effort, i think, to convince himself of being satisfied and content pays off, because the only person who notices otherwise is rinne. which, imo, is a whole other source of depth to their relationship; rinne probably saw niki working that out. he was 14 when they met, and likely the shiina parents leaving was recent (side note: i'm a certified niki's parents hater. i know we don't have much info on them, but i don't trust them after that burden thing), which is something i've mostly extrapolated by the contact he seems to have at 14 vs at 19, where they're pretty much never mentioned. yes, i know, niki chose to stay in japan. i just don't think you get through your parents leaving you in your native country at 14 while they gallivant around the globe and your communication with them steadily dwindles results in anything good.
ok. i'm sorry for the parent hating.
but unless proven otherwise i'm expecting them to be the source of these problems.
#enstars#ensemble stars#niki shiina#tenor talks#GOD. i fucking love niki shiina. im so normal.#i realize this doesnt have a good conclusion either. you see your honor i dont care.#this isnt an actual essay and you cant make me write a conclusion.#anyway. feel free to ask for elaboration on certain things im always down to talk about niki and sound genuinely insane about him#because i am.#i think niki needs more elaboration in game but im content to do a million elaborations myself because. fuck you.#anyway#sorry for using the read more all the time like 95% of my mutuals are bsd fans LMAO im trying not to clog dashboards#<- dont take this negatively bsd mutuals. personal quirk of myself. youre all fine.
