TRANS MARK IS SO GOOD GATOR, like it would open up the discussion about viltrumite's and gender (which I feel like they would not give a singular shit about, to the point that even their language is gender neutral like the mandolorians in Star wars, as long as you can still make kids) but at the same time I'm trying to write that Markcest harem fic with trans Mark and I wanna write him with at least top surgery but it's making me overthink about if he would *actually* get it. Because Nolan might ward him off from transitioning because of how late Mark got his powers (he would use the excuse that if Mark got them mid surgery it'd reveal his identity, but in reality he wanted to make sure Mark would still be useful enough without his powers that he wouldn't be killed by the empire and he's worried transitioning would affect Mark's fertility/usefulness. But anyway trans Mark is also great cause it leaves sooo much angst open too, like if he's the one getting pregnant and not Eve the abortion plotline would prob be a miscarriage plotline (☹️) and it would lead to a role switch where Eve would be the main protecter for the Terra pregnancy (Likely due to overcompensating because Marks scared. Im a sucker for Trans Mark, and yeah that may just be me projecting onto my faves and comfort characters.  

Though, I do think that Mark probably just never had much of a chest? Like, it was never very large, and when he gained his powers, his body was probably “oh, this is what we gotta do?” and started building a more masculine form and muscle. Cuz the mind is a powerful thing. 

Maybe that's why he's never as big as the other viltrumites? If you put him beside any of the other known viltrumites, Mark always appears to be smaller and skinnier, so maybe that's why? 

I do think that viltrumites don't really... care? About gender? At least not to the degree they do on earth. I've mentioned before that all they really care about is your ability to breed, if need be. So, Mark not getting bottom surgery means hes still useful in that regard. 

Theres also the whole alien biology I headcanon with viltrumites. Damn, would Mark grow the male bits when he gets older cuz his body just goes “yeah we are male, so, here you go”, kinda like how T makes changes too. 

Does this mean transfem Eve? T4T Mark and Eve? Sign me up immediately. Does Eve make testosterone for him, or does his body just start producing it when he's decided that's what is his “tip top shape”, if that makes sense? 

I get so sad when I think about Marky bro... he didn't ask to be born, or to be left believing he was hated and born from hate, like, he kinda was, but that was also not his fault. But I also understand Mark wanting nothing to do with him for his own health. Still, I do wish I could give Marky a hug.

The Bad Batch: Hunter

I love this show and these characters, but I feel like we need more info on Hunter ya know? (he is my fave) but I feel like theres character development that needs to happen with him. Or at least diving into the character on screen more than ‘oh hey look he’s Omega’s dad’

I like his character cuz he is the ‘leader’ and so its shown he feels responsible for everyone and he just automatically takes on the main, “parent” role for Omega. He kinda gives me the ‘king’ vibes in the whole Soldier, Poet, King dynamic because he has this sense of duty and responsibility that he maybe didn’t ask for but he will do anyway cuz he feels obligated to. Like as the big brother its obviously his job to watch out for and protect his siblings right? (maybe im projecting but I have four younger siblings)

anyhoo I feel like this needs to be explored more, or maybe just said out loud by one of the characters. Because alot of people claim Hunter is boring or uninteresting. And hey on surface level in the show there has been some character development on-screen but I feel more could be done.

When Hemlock threw Tech’s glasses at Hunter after his ‘death’ and said, “this must be hard on you as their leader.”

Of course Hunter feels responsible for Tech’s death, and Omega’s capture, and probably feels guilty as hell about Crosshair’s situation. Yes he is angry at Crosshair but I believe it did deeply hurt him to leave him behind, and then to watch him choose not to go with them.

When Crosshair and Hunter were having it out in this last episode he said, “You’re just jealous Omega got escaped with my help and not yours.” Crosshair was partially right.

I don’t think Hunter was jealous I think he just felt like he failed. Like he failed Omega, failed Tech, and failed Crosshair.

idk I just feel like the man is probably dealing with alot but its not said out-loud or explicitly shown so maybe its not noticed by everyone. I feel like he has a potential case of ‘oldest sibling syndrome’ where he feels like he MUST be useful, or MUST be capable of protecting and taking care of his siblings or else, what good is he? What is his purpose? I think maybe Hunter appears ‘boring’ on screen because he doesn’t have time to worry about himself. He comes last in his mind. And so maybe he is shown or seen as bossy and boring because he’s trying to do whats best for everyone so he doesn’t seem interesting.

Soooo….I made some nationality headcannons! At first I was a liiittle bit unsure if to do so cuz then again.. they live in ninjago…. And im pretty sure countries like argentina or Morocco don’t quite exist in the ninjago universe LMAO. Butttttt. Already seen others make headcannons, so hell, why not? I uses they apply to some irl au or what if they lived in our world uk? And what different countries would I see them coming from and etc.

I can imagine that the EM might have travelled all over the world, either to go into hiding, or missions, or escape conflict, etc. Or maybe simply that’s where they came from! So yeah that’s my little explanation that is mostly for myself cuz im a little bit too literal sometimes lol.

When thinking about nationality I always think a lot about where they grew up and what nationality they grew up with and would later on identify with the most. It’s a complicated concept when your parents are from a different nationality and theyre immigrants in a different country- so you grow up in this country, surrounded by this culture and people, but your. Also. Raised by your parents who also have your family living in this completely different country- where you also find home and relate to the people considering how you look, the language you speak with your parents- or the specific culture and environment your parents grew up wiooith, impacting your home life and the way your raised. Perhaps you lived in both places, or travel a lot to your parents homeland. Perhaps you live in one of your parents countries but the other. Not. but you still identify with one of your parents nationality because of the rest of your family from that side and the culture your take in from them. So it’s always very personal! So for Kai and Nya, I imagined that ray was Argentinian and Maya Filipino. And perhaps - because I want to project onto my faves- they were born and grew up in Argentina. But have always also identified a lot with their mothers homeland, since not only does their race impact the way they might feel more different and set apart from kids there, maya loves talking about her childhood in the Philippines and is always talking over the phone with their aunts and cousins, meaning Kai and Nya def were taught some Tagalog, tho theyre not incredibly fluid with it. In their early teens they probably travelled to the Philippines, (took ray and maya some time to settle down and get enough money to travel, as well as find time) and met their whole family, and the place they reside in, habit that would turn quite common as they would continue to travel other times the following years.

For Lloyd, I really wanted to make him Asian -Brazilian. It just felt right. So imagined that my queen (don’t you judge her >:() Misako would be Brazilian, meanwhile Garmadon,Japanese. i imagine that Misako adores traveling, so she met Garmadon on her trip to Japan, and decided to stay there for a WHILE because of the brothers. During her time there, she had Lloyd. Since her family heard of her new baby, she travelled back to Brazil with a two y/o Lloyd to have her family meet the him and catch up overall. but as the serpentine wars rose In japan (ill hc it happened in japan let me know what u think of that) Misako was told to wait in Brazil. Misako didn’t really like that though, and while she dreaded having to leave her son, she was sure shed come back soon after helping out the Brothers in the battle against the serpentine. So Lloyd was left to live with his aunties and grandparents in Brazil. Of course, after Misako found out about the whole Green Ninja thing and all that crap, she pulled the same stunt as in the series and ✨ vanished ✨. But then Garmadon came and fucking took him like divorced parents sometimes do uk? So then he spent some other of his childhood years growing up in, ya guessed it, Japan. This is how Lloyd identifies both with being a Brazilian and Japanese. As for the rest, I just envision that they lived in their respective countries their whole lives till they were recruited!

Drew: there would be some moments where he was p funny even when he was trying not to be (homophobic drew) also you could tell he really cared about everyone even if the feeling wasnt mutual, especially near the end of the series

Kristy: Oh Kristy you are so kind and beautiful you deserve everything❤️ it is such a shame that she died so early. I cant pinpoint my favorite thing about her but maybe its how kind she is despite how the world treats her. Also her design is cute

Flan: Hoshi didnt do too much with him with his writing probs cuz he was gay or whatever but he was pretty funny and he was sweet too. Sucks we couldnt see too much of it

Kimana: She was sooooo caring omg especially with the wolves near the beginning of the series. Her talent is also really nice I feel like its one of the more interesting ones out of all the others. I’m glad she was one of the survivors

Nate: As much as I hate him he did manage to make the chapters more interesting mainly ch.3. Lol I feel like of recent with our “discovery” of him being gay I’ve started hating him a lot less

Galetta: Her split personality thing was real cool. I think she is a contender for saying the most slurs throughout the series. Also she’s funny for liking a gay boy. Like cmon Galetta it’s obvious its gay you really had to fall for him. Also he’s not even all that.

Electra: Her ongoing quarrel with Kat near the middle of the series was interesting to watch and also she’s just an interesting character who’s able to hold onto her beliefs (we can see that when she’s not able to forgive Nate). Its genuinely kinda heartbreaking when she finds out that Kat was trying to kill her and we can see that she didn’t even hate her that much. Also Electra x Preston 4 lyfe

Manuel: Wish we were able to see more of him he was such a sweet heart the child abuse was kinda out of nowhere though. It would have been cool if Hoshi implied it? Idk its a touchy subject I cant speak on that too much. But when I was first introduced to him I was kinda able to tell he had to die😭 sad

Aika: Oh this one is complicated. Like she’s my fave but I feel like its even more than that kinda. Like I can’t even explain it I don’t even know where to start. Her rhyming attracted me at first of course because like when have you ever seen a character do that wooooow!!! but like other than that theres nothing else…. I think i kinda just started projected myself onto her after a while which is a bit embarrassing to admit but unfortunately true. This is why it’s hard for me to rewatch cgdr episodes sometimes because then I have to face her real personality and thats hard because she’s lowk like that one shes so crazzzyyy love her post. So when she got when she got with my least favorite character you can only imagine how I felt.

Preston: Sadly he’s a little boring until chapter 2 where his secret is revealed. I think that’s why no one in the cgdr server really talks about him much. The scene between Preston and Electra though was really cute but UGHHHHHHHH NEED MORE INTERACTIONS BETWEEN THEM UGHHHH 🤖🤖🤖 i think hoshi could have written at least small interactions between the two before his death. Why hoshi why why why

Kat: Honestly not a lot to say about her😭 She never did much to help the group and im surprised she made it as far as she did so umm.. her friggin willpower is guess. Well she was pretty entertaining. Actually shes a hot and sexy gamer gurl and she makes my wee wee go up i pick that.

Garvyn: He really just wanted the best for the group breh ohhh my god he did NOT have to die bro💔 Like he was strict about it but you could really tell he cared about them but maybe that was just because of his talent of being a general. Also related to Vik. Also Also I always forget he’s dead

Zin: She is such a support character it aint fair Hoshi it aint fair. She may have had a free time event iirc? Yeah i cant even remember. Honestly favorite thing about her was her execution

they dragged peter dinklage for saying that fans were upset about the ending bc their favorite characters didn't win but he is 100% right 😭 the last two seasons are almost entirely about dany, even jon's parentage reveal is about her! her death is unsatisfactory but most people were expecting a happy ending with her or jon in the throne bc the general public doesn't really care about good writing

yeah i think the problem the ending gets soooo bad is because d&d were simply over it, im not saying they’re good at their jobs but i AM saying when they’re trying to put out a good project they put out something okay. there are some wonky adaptational changes right off the bat but overall s1 is p solid as a story. i started getting frustrated by like s3 but my grandpa, The Ultimate Casual Stan, was really grooving for a long ass while there because they were still trying in 4-6, even tho it was just getting abysmal. But by the end of 6, i think those two wanted to move on & instead of handing it over to someone who still had the energy to go another 5-6 seasons, they wanted the show to die with them & started pitching like 6 total more hours of story time for like SIX THOUSAND PAGES OF STORY. Narrowing it down in scope soooooooooo much means you have to choose one, MAYBE two or three people u want to focus on and FUCK the rest. but NOT ONLY did they narrow the scope severely, they also just started like, phoning it in. the weaker casting choices really started to stand out (🤷🏻) and they were not dedicated to adapting the story so much as getting it over with. the moment the refused to hand it over is the moment we were fucked. and even the casuals started going “this seems not as good as last season.”

so YEAH i do in fact think a lot of criticism is “my fave didn’t win” but it’s also like, did ANYONE’S fave win?? i think we ALL got fucked, personally, unless you were a huge bronn stan. but ALSO i DO think the general audience started expecting a happier ending. i think that’s a failure on the part d&d. casuals on the whole react very divided about bittersweet/bitter endings. imo earlier in the series’ life, a lot of casuals would have accepted a bittersweet ending - look at the excitement over ned’s execution, the red wedding, oberyn’s death, they LOVED to be shocked into a character trying and failing. if you’re good enough, you can lead the bulk of your audience by the hand to accepting a sad ending. d&d, by the end, were not good enough at this and that’s why no one likes it.

however this is not me shittalking peter dinklage, he is a PROFESSIONAL and i think once the scripts started to DIP he saw the writing on the wall of “this ending is going to make people so fucking mad” and he started dissociating in press. and he’s valid, who doesn’t see a shitshow at work coming and just dip emotionally?

In all honesty. When I first watched Third Beat I was so jawdropped by him and what he's doing and it made me irrationally scared to the point where I forgot about taking screenshots (i usually do so for future reference). and a month after I still caught myself thinking back to i7 because to me it was just another anime but HE was one of the characters that made me stay. He made me want to know what happens next So Much that I spent hours on wikis and websites searching more info on how to access more stories besides the anime. I AM SO NORMAL ABOUT HIM

and when I continued thinking back to him I found myself with the following thoughts: "evil. so hot." and "wow. he's like. proper disgusting. im intrigued!!!!" and by lords. when i first drew him on emotion it felt like an electricity jolt to my brain. I was never the same since. and I went back to rewatch Third Beat. and I read third part and fourth part and.

It's always a stage play and he's performing for everyone. If nobody's paying attention to him, he will point all lights to himself. But not in that way, pay attention in a different way. Love him, like him... If nobody likes him, then everybody shouldn't. If he is bad, then he should be the worst. If he wants something, he will get it. There are so many cracks within his fragile ego facade. And the only ones for him, the only ones he could peel this wrapping for, even if for a bit, are Riku and Momo. (and ZOOL in pt6)

I project onto him and make many headcanons because I can relate to a lot of his characteristics that CAN BE VERY MUCH MISSED BY THE AUDIENCE WITH HOW QUICK AND SUBTLE THEY ARE. or maybe im just catching myself in the "he's just like me fr" and starting to make things up You never really know with this sort of stuff.

There are two Ryous for me -- the bastard evil guy I want to impale and the Canonly Childhood Traumatised and coping with it in the worst ways possible (which is a recurring theme for characters in i7). I do feel like he gets a lot of hate because people (rightfully so) don't wish to delve deeper into his character because he serves as a good plot device even in his "irredeemably evil" state. I think that another layer of "sinister" gets placed on top considering that He Can Get Worse. it's always possible with the kinds of situations that a lack of regulation and help can bring and He Did Get Worse (ex: balcony scene)

The bastard evil guy is a good flavour of Ryou too because of the situations he can put others in. He's silly, unpredictable, evil, remorseless, sadistic, and absolutely unhinged. hes probably good in bed because of that but please disregard this whole sentence right now. everyone else is wrong and right about him because of how little we get of his screentime that is really about himself but THERE IS SOOO MUCH SO MUCH.

re: aesthetic, gender, design. awooga. 2/3 of my fave colours (orangeish yellow and purple), fave hairstyle (middle part), fave eyes (dead inside), fave frame (look at his back!) I WANT TO STEAL HIS GENDER. I LOVE THE murderous aesthetic I love the playhouse wife aesthetic i love the "i want to be the spoiled child" thing hes got going on . i love his outfits i love his expressions i love his moves i love HIS DESIGN. saw your post about people who like Alastor but not Valentino and I hope you don’t mind me responding here instead of the post itself!

For me it’s because not only have we actually seen him+his personality (the only times I know of when Valentino has actually talked in-universe is Dirty Healings and maybe his Instagram, but I don’t have Instagram) and Alastor has like funny lines and a song in the pilot. I could probably defend every single bad thing he ever did if I wanted to but I don’t think anybody cares and my apologizing for him would be hollow anyway but as far as I know we’ve seen him kill/try to kill twice and one of those times was Sir Pentious, who attacked the hotel, and the butcher shop owner in A Day in the After Life, who was attacking a customer. Although Alastor did kill many other demons, we only know what happened from Vaggie’s possibly biased and overdramatized retelling of events, and since they are demons in hell it’s possible he was only killing bad people like a really horrible superhero. We also know he was a serial killer in life, but again, we don’t know the context, and he could’ve fancied himself a vigilante or something(which still doesn’t mean he’s innocent, because it’s still murder and very unlikely, but hey! Hasn’t been disproven). Also, as an asexual, I’m probably projecting a lot onto him and it’s way easier for me to like his character than Valentino.

so i’m on my weekly reread of the mission universe and i wanted to ask about something i noticed in regards to logan and his relationship w everyone. in the third fic it’s clear that oscar is friends w everyone, max even flat out says he’s my friend too so i’m pissed w you but you’re my best friend so i’m here when he’s comforting lando that night. charles and everyone call him by his first name oscar instead of piastri and he’s definitely integrated. now i am a logan girlie tbf and also i love angst so i could just be seeing things (or projecting bc yikes i relate) BUT. charles calls logan sargeant and i feel like most everyone (apart from maybe lando who stated multiple times how they’re becoming closer the two of them) consider logan to still be like.. oscar’s friend rather than their friend? and i would be so interested in seeing what logan thinks about that, especially since there’s all this drama about this seat and altho he’s made jokes i’m sure he feels kinda like a failure about it. it could also be that now he’s having issues w arthur and arthur is charles brother and it’s this whole thing of im only here bc two people like me but generally no one else cares. and i know for example we briefly saw max in the second fic saying he wouldnt let the rookie lose his seat after the whole ring fiasco, but nothing really in the third fic. what are your thoughts on the dynamic? i could just be reading too much into with regards to angst but i had to ask lol.

hi anon!! wow okay i had to think hard about this one, but firstly i’m very big on the idea that readers should be free to interpret dynamics and characters in fics however they want, so all your thoughts are 100% valid!

logan is maybe my fave mission character to write, mainly because his relationship with everyone is so complex and layered (and has experienced the most evolution across the three fics).

logan would be the first to roast charles for his descent into wedding obsessed madness, but he’d also be the first in line to help if there was ever a wedding-related disaster (exhibit a: risking his life for the ring). on the flip side, charles will never pass up an opportunity to insult logan in the GC, but he will also defend him with his whole heart (exhibit a: blowing up at arthur in the padel court). it’s very sibling-coded. they care about each-other but they will absolutely never admit it.

like you, i am also a sucker for angst, so the larthur fic will definitely explore more of this dynamic and some of logan’s insecurities (listen it will cover the qatar gp so angst is not optional i’m afraid).
