If a strategist from Glitch were to try and go about killing a god (maybe theyâve backslided, maybe the god is just really annoying or trying to kill their friends), how would they go about doing it. What would be the best way to use Eide, Flore, Lore, or Wyrd?
-
Jenna, my readers are always asking me, how do you kill a god? But there is no one size fits all answer to killing gods.
You have to look within yourself.
You have to find the unique way of killing gods that expresses you.
-
Glitch is a game where you tell stories, and an important feature of stories about killing gods is that they are not all the same.
Some are long. Some short.
Some put their protagonists through heck. Some let them just glide through.
Stories can have very different ideas about what it takes, and what it means, to kill a god.
Gods, too, can differ.
-
If you're frustrated, looking at Glitch, trying to find the thing you're supposed to do to accomplish task X, you're misunderstanding the intended flow of play:
To kill a god, decide how you want to kill a god.
Then, express it in the form of actions.
Optionally, discover that you're misaligned with the group zeitgeist on how god-killing stories work, and adjust.
Then, the god dies, or doesn't.
If you're having trouble figuring out how you want to kill a god, then you might need to stick it on a back burner. Over time, you'll have a better understanding not just of the game options the traits provide but of how your character uses them, and some things your character might want to try will gain more dramatic weight in the group zeitgeist.
-
Decide you want to kill a god by shoving it out of your way into the street. Declare that as an everyday Ability action.
Decide you want to kill a god in a complicated flower rite. Declare that as a quest or planning miracle.
Chain it down in a place of sorrow with a Greater Invocation. Erase it with a handwave and your Wyrd. Give in to the wicked voice of your god-killing knife, that whispers to you always, and draw the curtain on the scene, and expect that when the next scene starts it will be dead.
Declare that gods aren't real, and let it poof away.
In every last case, perhaps the group goes, "Yeah, that's a satisfying answer!" Perhaps they don't. If they don't, then your action still "works," in that it happens unless in direct conflict with a stronger action, but it likely doesn't kill the god.
-
A secret is that this is not just how Glitch works.
In almost every RPG, the way you make something happen is get the group on board with that thing happening. All rules can do is help that happen.
If the rules of Glitch could make that happen then you wouldn't even have to read them, you wouldn't even have to know you were playing Glitch, you could think you were playing D&D and accidentally play Glitch instead and the rules would sort that out for you.
They can't.
-
When it comes to killing gods, the game of Glitch bestows a certain implicit authority on higher-level miracles, particularly epic miracles; miracles that take time to play out; miracles that imply in their description that they're on the right power level for killing gods.
Strategy and Greater Strategy are good ones when they apply, because you can get the players on board during the planning process, spend a while playing it out gathering narrative momentum, and then have it feel well-grounded when it works.
If you have a Talent for killing gods, then that probably works well, but also tends to reframe the game as one where you're killing a bunch of gods and more story time gets spent on the ones where there's a twist that makes it difficult. Think of the Traveller in Black; as competent as the traveller is, they still spend most of their time "in play" dealing with entities that are difficult even for them.
Greater Invocation is well-built for attacking gods.
Destruction and Greater Destruction can be good, though honestly they kind of push the GM to make a complex conflict out of it, which in turn means it's actually the Wailing Rite that would serve you best.
Flore is all kind of of one piece, but you'd definitely want to start with a Greater Glorification on a god-killing weapon.
-
If you decide in play to do something that the GM and group think you can probably do, but which they also think should feel difficult and earned, then you probably have to spend some time on either a quest or a spotlight-driven exploration of what's going on with that thing before coming up with a plan people think is cool, executing the plan, and then having the plan mostly work but devolve into some kind of chaotic complex conflict at the end to finish up the final details.
If you decide in play to kill a god ... well, probably the GM and group will believe you can, but also think it should feel difficult and earned. That's kind of what the book implies, at least.
-
In the old days---I once wrote this.
In the old days, they didn't know very much about the world. But they made maps anyway. If they had to map something they couldn't, they just drew whatever they felt like and wrote, "Here there be dragons."
We still don't know very much about the world; and there are things to map of it besides its surface.
How do you write a book?
How do you kill a god?
Can broken things be remade? Can destinies change? Is it worth the risk of hope?
Important questions, but one can only shrug, you see:
Here, there be dragons.
-
As for Glitch, I mean, like ... the game only has two rules, and they're not even a dozen words between them; some things had to be left as exercises for the reader, and the dreamer, and their group.

Hello Bluebell! I LOVE your art style! Itâs mesmerizing! As an autistic person, I enjoy submas thoroughly, and your content brings a smile to my face! So if you donât mind, hereâs a mindless rant about your fnaf au(Iâm not even that big of a fnaf fan, your art is just that good)
None of the other animatronics are really allowed to interact with the twins, and they only us the transport when needed to move through the pizzaplex without being spotted. The twins are used to aid with the transport of of items(which is why they are so tall and bulky. Why hire staff to move work items around the place when you can use scrap to build animatronics for cheap that you donât have to pay) they are beloved by the behind the scenes workers, and especially the engineers/mechanics. The twins are active 24/7, and can receive minor charge through their feet via the floor. When not moving people or work items, they patrol the warehouse area to ensure no intruders. Despite appearances, they love children and carry various candy/merch to give to them. When controlled by the virus, ingo acts as a lure due to his voice box, and he uses his booming voice to stun victims. Emmett is the one who catches the intruders due to his better movement. The victims are often taken to vanny, and in this state they believe they are helping a lost child find their way home. They are unaware they are dooming them to a worse fate. Both twins are semi fixable using parts you find scattered randomly around the plex and hidden details in the repair area. If both are recruited as allies they will defend you against music man and guide you through the subway tunnels to avoid detection. They get really messed up in the music man altercation, and when elesa and company come across them, the damage is too extensive to repair them both separately, so they are temporarily combined into an amalgam of both twins. They maintain their individual personalities and return to help the player in the burntrap fight. They lead the group out of the burning pizza plex. This is only unlocked if both are saved and allied. If only one is allied the other will become hyper aggressive and will become incredibly dangerous; Afton has complete control over them. If neither are rescued they wander the area under the pizza plex in search of their counterpart. They later return as enemies as you make your way down to the cellar in this version. They will ambush the player if they leave Freddy for too long. Their state is greatly deteriorated and they at this point are mindless murder drones. Anyways thatâs all for now! Have a marvelous day!
First of all, thank you so much. I'm so happy you enjoy my fnaf submas AU so much >w<
And sorry for taking so long. I tend to gather asks until one day I actually answer them.
I am reading your idea with great interest, oh my~!
It's very different from what I'm imagining them as, but that's not a bad thing at all!
Using them more as working bots, instead of entertainment, is a great idea! I was wondering how they'd get in contact with visiting kids, but maybe they show up whenever stock needs to be refilled, carrying large crates and such, and you know kids! Big heavy machinery that moves stuff around productively??? Like tractors and trucks and trains??? Crazy cool to a lot of kids!! And then maybe there's an appeal of the odd ones out, the only animatronics that aren't in the stage light. Despite their tall statue, just feeling more down to earth, unlike the always locked away Glamrock colleagues.
(The actual upkeep of labor animatronics would probably be FAR more than any human worker driving forklifts, but nonono slave animatronics it is!)
I love how you think in gameplay! Imagine as the player the only media you see of them are children's drawings, fanart, stuff like that, cus since they're only labor bots they don't get official ads.
Both submas being completely out of it when under the virus works so well too! They want to serve and make people happy. They couldn't possibly comprehend that following orders could mean harming them!
I also love the idea of FazEnt not caring enough about them to invest enough money to fix them both. Why would they? Their software is one animatronic already; why not make them so in hardware too?
Enter: JĂŒrgen!
Or it's like a robotic DID situation, one taking the backseat as the other is in control, being able to switch back and forth as needed. Another game mechanic?
If only one is befriended, I could see the other getting aggressive cus he thinks you're stealing his brother! I like to think they're super protective of each other.

i know you have probably been asked this so many times â but what brushes do you typically use? any helpful videos i can reference to get portraits and overall realism sketching down, maybe ones that you used starting out? or just.. tips overall?
artists like you and m0cktails really inspire me to try and pursue a different route with my art, one that was totally unexpected but pleasantly rewarding when i tried it out!!! you have a great eye for features and overall composition of a piece, i started being a fan due to your ghostsoap art but i honestly think ive started to like seeing your OCs too haha
please donât feel pressured to answer i know i kind of asked a lot!!
Hey there! I've briefly reviewed some of the brushes I use in some posts here and here! For the most part, I stick to one standard brush, as well as the airbrush and some other 'effect' brushes as I need them. I'm a photoshop devotee, unfortunately đ, so a lot of my process is futzing around with their admittedly stellar editing tools
Truthfully, I don't have any concrete tips or videos for this sort of thing. I started out as a pencil artist, doing more and more realistic portraits the better I got, and then eventually turned to digital art (a bit reluctantly) So a lot of that was just self-taught; finding my own way how to implement certain techniques, and amassing a foundation that would allow me to draw all the stuff in my brain, lol
As for advice--I'd say to learn how to evolve out of your comfort zone. It's good to know what type of style or subject matter you feel you're best at--this is a natural inclination most artists have, and it informs the pieces your mind wants to create. But try pushing the limits of what you think might be 'too tedious' or 'too advanced'. More often than not, the thing holding your art back is that gut instinct of 'I can't do this, so why bother trying'. I used to feel this way about hands (enemy of the state, confirmed) And yeah, the easy cop-out is to just shove them all in pockets or behind backs etc. But in learning how to overcome that obvious challenge, I grew to really appreciate the way a hand can shape a composition. In fact, I have to hand it to--đ„ â
Anyway! My next bit of 'advice' would be to go absolutely bonkers nuts with references. Don't listen to any fraud or fool who says using references is cheating !!!!! They lie!!!!! I swear, my art only looks the way it does because I am a reference hound who spends hours and hours on google/pinterest/stock sites for the perfect angle of the perfect pose, just so I can relate it to the image I have in my head.
For realism--look at real stuff! This sounds dumb, but it helps. Start paying closer attention to people around you; their faces, the way the light accents certain things, unique features, etc. I'd suggest figure studies if that's something you're into (I don't do studies, personally, because I just jump into massive pieces and can't do anything simple đ
welp) but it does help immensely to study humans in real life and try to translate that onto the page
So yeah. Tbh, the best method for improving art is to simply DO IT. And the fact that you're seeking out further advice and tips means that you have some motivation--so use it! Hope this helps <3

Banter with the Bat Boys
Pairing: Reader x Bat Boys
Summary: Cassian doesn't think you know a single good pick up line, but maybe you've got something up your sleeve?
Word count: 923
Warnings: None, Flirting
a/n: Just a little blurb, we love seeing the bat boys get a little flustered.
------------------------------------------------------------------- The fire pops in the hearth as it adjusts to the fresh logs that Cassian threw in. The drawing room grows cozier and as he moves back to his armchair a swirl of warmth meets you. This room is your sanctuary tonight as a strong blizzard billows through Velaris. Youâd come to dinner at the High Lordâs home to provide an update on your latest findings on a cursed object that had found its way onto the marketplace. You were joined of course by Azriel and Cassian. Azriel was eager to hear of your results given he was the one to undercover the artifact and Cassian, well he just had a strong case of fear of missing out.
When the meal wrapped no one was too eager to get out into the chill so your small party quickly moved on to evening drinks.
âSo, you had no better offers tonight Cassian?â Rhysand questioned leaning back in his armchair and bringing his drink to his lips.
âOh plenty of offers, I just like to do some charity work you know. What would guys do without me?â Cassianâs face pulled into a wide grin.
âYes, I canât imagine how weâd get along?â Rhysand rolled his eyes.
âPlease there were no offers, you had no where else to be.â Azriel chimed in. He tipped his glass in Cassians direction before taking a deep drink.
âAnd how would you know?â Cassian lent forward, elbows resting on the corners of his armchair.
âSpymaster.â Azriel simply pointed at himself.
You couldnât help the giggles that bubbled up at their interaction. They truly acted as brothers and your heart felt so light seeing them be so content on evenings such as these.
âWhat are you giggling at over there? Did you have any better offers tonight?â Cassian challenged from across your little circle of chairs.
âNo she didnât.â Azriel quickly said before sipping his drink again.
âHey!â You whipped out a hand from your blanket and slapped it playfully across Azrielâs arm. He grinned at you apologetically. âI happened to have business here tonight and I could have plans if I wanted to.â
âOh really, cause I donât recall the last time I saw you with a male?â Cassianâs wings fluffed behind him as he settled back in his chair.
âSome of us donât feel the need to advertise our every conquest.â You wave your hand in his direction.
âNow, now, you two. Thereâs no competition.â Rhysand places his drink down on the low table between you all.
âOh we know that already, I donât think Y/N has a single good pick up line.â He smirks at you.
âI have plenty of good pickup lines thank you.â You take a small sip from your glass.
âWell do share.â Cassian gestures to the room.
âI donât need to waste them on you.â You retort and resist the urge to stick your tongue out like a child.
âWell tell Azriel, his ravishing good looks mean heâs heard every pickup line from here to Spring.â He nods like it's settled. âHe will judge.â
Your eyes dart across the faces in the room looking for a way out but both Azriel and Rhysand are watching you expectantly. Bastards. Of course they would side with Cassian.
âFine.â You place your glass down a little harder than necessary as you swing your legs off your chair where they had been curled.
You stand and move towards Azriel, he watches you carefully as you step around his armchair. Rhysand picks up his glass again like heâs ready for a show and when you glance over to Cassian he only raises an eyebrow at you expectantly. His cockiness only fuels you and you know what you need to do.
You lay a hand across the back of Azrielâs chair and lean forward so that your lips almost brush the hollow of his ear. Behind a cupped hand you keep your voice low so that the others won't hear.
âI canât decide whether I want to scream your nameâ You whisper to him âor feel you down the back of my throat.â
You straighten with a small smile. Rhysand seems shocked and Cassian now has both his eyebrows raised. When you glance down at Azriel a soft pink dusts the top of his cheeks.
âYe- uh-, I mean, um sheâs got it covered Cassian.â Azriel throws his head back and downs the remainder of his drink.
âOh now I have to know what you just said.â Cassian is grinning again âI havenât seen anyone have that effect on Azriel in a long time.â
âRhysandâ Azrielâs growl rumbles through the room âDonât try and get in my head.â
âHey just thought Iâd see if youâd like to share thatâs all.â Rhysand raises his hands in innocence.
âWell itâs been fun boys, but it looks like the weathers clearing and I should get home.â You turn and grab your long coat from the back of your chair triumphantly.
âIâll take you, itâs still snowing and you can avoid the cold if we winnow.â Azriel quickly stands.
âThank you, I appreciate it.â You give him a warm smile in reply. You bid the others goodnight and make your way to the door.
âItâs still snowing.â You hear Cassian mimic as he brings his glass up to finish his drink. As you make it to the hall you just catch sight of one of Azrielâs shadows tipping Cassianâs glass forward and its contents emptying into his lap.

i love your art and i donât want to mess with your artistic vision/style at all but today i realised after a long time spent staring into samâs pretty eyes that you donât draw pupils/the light dot thingies? and i was curious as to why (if there is one, you can just say you prefer it that way and thatâs a good answer) - i quite like the uncanny valley esque effect it has on my brain haha for the longest time i thought it was just that the light had been snuffed out of the joja employees
Thank you thank you hehe
I always thought my art looked weird with pupils, I'm not sure why
Maybe they're a lil too visually noisy/distracting? I think I just don't have the proportions/shading down to make them look appropriate
(i actually don't mind them on vincent here tbh)
#ask#anonymous#i get this question a lot hehe#but i've never done a side-by-side comparison until now#maybe i just need to find a better way to draw them#i could unlock more expressive power for my faces đ

yall im almost filled my sketchbook, and this is gonna be the first time in a literal decade that ive done that my god.
Might post some pages from it once its done.. I feel like this is the first time ive really done a sketchbook "right." Before i always felt pressured to just fill it with finished pieces, but thats;; not really what a sketchbook is for. Its for practicing! Trying out things! Etc.! So with this sketchbook i gave myself a really hard challenge: draw almost entirely in pen. I always hate drawing with pens cuz, yknow. cant erase if you make mistakes. So whenever im inking something im a nervous wreck the entire time. but now i was gonna do *everything* in pen. All my mistakes with be left there, all guiding lines and such will show. And this was very hard to do at first, but now its really natural! I actually like doing it this way now, which is kinda crazy to say. And i've filled it with a variety of things! There's me practicing things, just drawing random characters, lots of pages of me playing around with character designs, many pages of animatic plans, and some that were literally just me smearing paint on the page to test the colors or how it behaved. I even have a few sticky notes in it, and ive taped a couple of things in! A while back i was trying out acrylics for the first time, so i ripped out a few pages to experiment with trying to fill the whole page with paint and see how the paper would fare. And they look atrocious, cuz i really didn't know how those paints worked, but hey! It was me trying things out! So despite me being slightly tempted to just throw them out, i actually taped them back in. And another time I didn't have my sketchbook with me when I was hit with inspiration for a character design, so i drew it on index cards and taped em in so all my design notes would be in one place. But more than one index card didn't really fit on the page, so i had to cut the others into weird pieces so they could fit. And these sorts of pages are my favorites! Its satisfying to flip thru my sketchbook and come across very different or "out of place" pages. Im hoping to do more stuff like that with the next one!
#josh talks#dang somehow i always surprise myself with how much i can yap about a simple subject that shouldve taken a few sentences#but yeah i wont be giving like a whole sketchbook tour cuz one that would take forever#and 2 my anxiety says no :(#some things im embarrassed about even tho nothing ive drawn is embarrassement worthy..#but since a large majority of the drawings were done in pen there are some especially messy pages#and like i have multiple animatics mapped out in this sketchbook. and for those i draw fast and small#all i need is to have something that will help me remember my idea#so a lot of them look extremely ugly and strange#which!! shouldnt be an issue!! i shouldnt be embarrassed!! but brain says no :(#im already gonna show some pages im a little anxious about so im not gonna push too hard into facing my fears territory#theres a time and place for that and ive decided to save my mental power for another battle#but thankfully im mostly excited to show them off!#maybe yall will find it interesting.. cuz since i cant erase anything you can see all the guiding lines and like#character âskeletonsâ for posing n such#i think i use a sort of âskeletonâ method that ive seen people say NOT to do lmao#just goes to show that sometimes u can ignore art advice#i mean maybe a different method would lead to better art somehow#but eh im happy with how my drawings have been going for years with this method#maybe it could be better but its still good this way <3

is anybody else out there still creating twdg fanworks đđą where is everyone please dont say reddit i cant go back there
#im gods bravest little soldier for following fandom tags but its rough in there#guess i should specifically say where are the twdg fans who didnt hate violet#sometimes i remember how homophobic (and racist?? in the lee and clem game??) people were during s4 (and still are on reddit/yt) and think:#maybe i should stop looking and just let the cool people find me#go knocking on enough doors and the devil may answer#but i want to see fanart đ„ș#was only Slightly surprised by the misogyny because this is clems game series but hoo boy the misogyny towards violet......#ive gotten used to how quiet it is i gotta remind myself a dead fandom is better than an annoying one đburning shores reminded me of that#so hard being a wlw in video game spaces please where are my other wlw video game enjoyers i need to find u đ#gotta draw some more ellie to lure them in like an angler fish#im honestly surprised how dead twdg seems to be esp with the way the final season ended?? its set up so well for fanworks??#theres a lot of unaccounted for time even before clem got to the school. and its set up that their lives could be anything now#is it just because people were burned so hard by seasons 2 and 3 that a lot of people just didnt even play 4??#or maybe they didnt even know s4 was un-cancelled??#because i know theres a lot of people who stopped after 3#but 4 is such a return to form. its like the other side of the coin to s1 for me. like if s1 was more hopeful instead of dreadful#it is Such a love letter to s1 honestly. imagine if telltale didnt shut down in the middle of production and they got a full budget.....#sometimes i imagine it... s4 with a full 5 episodes??? in my dreams. literally.#oof this turned into a ramble im just fandom lonely#twdg#it speaks

now some people may not like to hear it but even the worst people who exist are still people & there is no human being who has More right than others to decide whether others deserve to live or die (does not mean i personally condemn murder in self defense or anything of the sort or killing fascists or whatever i'm just saying as a baseline This Is How it Is) & this is why the death penalty is not a good thing no matter how good & trustworthy the people in any government might be. people on average also deserve the chance to learn to do better. & no, someone who's been forcefed propaganda their entire life will not let go of that deeply entrenched mindset so easily, it's not particularly unrealistic & it absolutely sucks to deal with but in the context of tangibly working toward world peace it's also not an issue to try & help such people both in material ways & in helping them learn better rather than cut them down or abandon them to a grim fate. all this to say that's why i don't think garlemald is written badly, as unpleasant as the experience might be. walks off the stage
#ffposting#also if you hate garlemald's writing THIS much but like emet-selch i think theres a disconnect there i just dont understand.#like he made it that way. you do understand this is all because of him right. maybe you should be more upset about that.#garlemald is very uncomfortable & the real life parallels it draws make it a very very touchy Thing to deal with#but i do not think it is handled badly.#their supremacy is entirely gone by the time of edw the people there have known nothing but propaganda#the populares are known to be a minority. people like cid or jenomis aren't that common. this is why they get along#the propaganda is such that even occupied domans like asahi fell for it & feel absolutely nothing for their kin#thats what propaganda does. there is absolutely a degree of responsibility regarding what they do & i would never say otherwise#however the idea that we should let them die & not get a chance to rebuild after theyve lost everything (again) is like. huh.#when you want to work toward world peace in a meaningful way you cant just abandon anyone like that.#like thats a whole people. they suck! but it is not immutable & they deserve the opportunity to do better like any other#id much rather they face retribution for their actions in meaningful ways including working toward reparations#wrt all the peoples the empire occupied than to round them up to kill them or worse let them die to the telophoroi#OR to becoming blasphemies. that would make things so extremely worse.#i just dont understand how you can have sympathy for jullus when he was just like everyone else at first#but you want to leave the rest of them to die. & i dont get how you can like emet & want them to die.#like he fucking did this its a pretty notable very fucking bad thing that he did. no doubt varis has made it worse#but varis was in power for like 2 years at best.#that emet was playing a role & did not actually believe in or care about what he was doing does not erase that he did it#& i personally find it hypocritical to like him if you balk at the idea of garlemald restoration. clears throat#i believe in killing fascists but i also dont believe in punitive justice#& by the time of edw garlean civilians do not hold the systemic power they once mightve#which i think is also important. their entire country is in shambles.#if anything its the ideal opportunity for them all to start anew & learn better. shed their preconceptions as one might say#that said i still skip garlemald cutscenes bc i dont need cunts calling me a savage â-_-#do not take any of this for garlean apologia i fucking hate dealing with them on an individual level as a xaela player lmfao#but yeah. if you can feel pity for livia who is a military general WHO HAS ACTIVELY KILLED YOUR FRIENDS#but not for the civilians whove never been exposed to anything other than propaganda. idk man. 30 tags. fly free my post

LAURA LAURA LAURA
.... I might need to revise my meme. I haven't even slept yet but all this song makes me want to do is... idk, get better? Rob a bank and be able to pay for therapy and go get better? Get better and go to their concert and dance and sing along to the "oh damn it will get better even if I have to claw my way to it with my bare hands" song?
#what is happening. i haven't slept yet and I'm overwhelmed with university and other stuff and mental health and whatnot#and still laura's buam are not making me cry but actually.... give me a vague sense of oh damn yeah it can get better and on god it WILL#even if i have to claw my way to it#hold on that might just be a quote from a tv show. which one was it. a woman saying it to someone about someone else#uuuuuuuh#oh. shadow of bones; nina saying she'll claw her way to a happy end if she has to#damn laura your boys are not making me cry when i'm tired what is happening#tell them to keep it up#how do i rework that meme now#well not now. now i need to get back to that goddamn stupid paper and somehow find 1600 more words to bullshit in#but in the evening today maybe#not like i should write another paper then that's also already overdue but hey. we know me by now#mine#lauras buam#lonely spring#sad weather kids#the line i wasn't ready for a line that is so challenging still stabs me though#i would once again like to have the energy and time to try to draw something. not sure what with that line but. something.#brudi i'm doing worse every day how is this not making me cry but actually making me happy wth is happening#is this like when pets get a last burst of energy and love before they die? am i about to crash really badly as soon as i've handed in my#papers?#yeah yeah i'd say sorry for the tag rambling but it's my tags and we know by now i'm not capable of shutting the fuck up

Travis Dermott knew that he would draw attention with his actions in the Coyotesâ home opener against the Anaheim Ducks at Mullett Arena on Saturday. The Arizona defenseman just hoped that the spotlight might shine on the issue that he was addressing, not on him.
âYou donât really want to go against rules that are put in place by your employer, but thereâs some people who took some positive things from it,â Dermott said. âThatâs kind of what Iâm looking to impact.
âYou want to have everyone feel included and thatâs something that I have felt passionate about for a long time in my career. Itâs not like I just just jumped on this train. Itâs something that Iâve felt has been lacking in the hockey community for a while. I feel like we need supporters of a movement like this; to have everyone feel included and really to beat home the idea that hockey is for everyone.â
âI wonât lie,â said Dermott, who is playing on a one-year, two-way contract. âFrom the outside, itâs easy to see that Iâm putting my career on the line for something. I definitely went through some emotional ups and downs that night, not regretting anything by any means, but Iâd love to have maybe done a couple of steps a little different by making sure that everyone was aware of what was going on before I did it.
âI donât want to put my teammates or my coaches or my GMs or the equipment managers in any kind of bad light when itâs their job to kind of look out for something like this happening. It was definitely something that I did just by myself and was prepared to kind of deal with whatever repercussions the league decides to push towards that. Iâm not going to back off and say that this battle is won, but weâre going to find better ways to do it.â
As Dermott noted, LGBTQ+ inclusion is an issue that he has supported for a long time. Without getting into specifics, Dermott said the issue is personal for him because it impacts people close to him.
âIâd be lying if I said I havenât shed tears about this on multiple occasions,â he said. âSo yeah, itâs something Iâm definitely very passionate about.
âIâve met a lot of people that from the outside, it looks like they have everything going right in their life and they have a smile on their face every time they talk to you. But sometimes when we get closer to people and get comfortable enough for them to open up to you, you can see that thereâs some pretty dark stuff happening to some good people. It doesnât take too many times encountering something like that for it to really change someone.
âIâve been blessed to have some of those opportunities put in front of me to really change my view of what being a good person means; what being a good father and a good example and role model means going forward. You really see how people are hurting and itâs because of a system that maybe no oneâs intentionally trying to be malicious about, but until youâve really had that first-person experience seeing people hurting from it right in front of you, itâs tough to kind of take steps.â
It would be a surprise if the league handed down any sort of punishment. The optics alone would add to the public relations damage that the original ban created. Even so, Dermott reiterated his desire to bring the entire franchise into the fold before he takes similar actions in the future, but he also made it clear that he will not be silenced on the topic.
âItâs not like Iâm shutting up and going away,â he said. âI know more questions are going to be coming. Weâre just going to be as prepared as we can be to just spread love. Thatâs the thing. Itâs gay pride that weâre talking about, but it could be menâs health. It could be any war. Itâs just wanting world peace. Everyoneâs got to love each other a little bit more.
âLike my parents said growing up, âHow awesome would it be to be the guy that people look up to?â Thatâs what really hit home when I was a kid, especially from my mom. You want to grow up and be that guy. You want to be the guy thatâs having the impact on kids like NHL players had on you. If they had been racist or bigoted, thatâs going to have an effect on you.
âWith how many eyes are on us, especially with the young kids coming up in the new generation, you want to put as much positive love into their brain as you can. You want them to see that itâs not just being taught or coming from maybe their parents at home. They need to see it in the public eye for it to really make an effect.â

Relativity Falls!
Design Concepts (and my unnecessary thoughts):
Excuse the the colors, ig my apps are fighting.
I see Mabel finding success no matter what happens to her, but I really like the thought of her running an insane arts and crafts business in GF. Alternatively, if she fell in the portal, she'd come out acting confident as always, but she probably wouldn't realize how much the constant change and lack of family/stability wore her out until she settled back in. In either case, she's a bit cracked.
Dipper is investigative, but cracks easiest under stress and is not as inherently adventurous as Mabel or Ford- so the portal wouldn't treat him well. If he's not the one in the portal, he'd be into stargazing and real magic to share with people, while also warding tourists away from the dangerous stuff. In general, he'd be an unhappy adult if left to his own devices, lol.
Between Dipper and Mabel, I like Dipper being in the portal more. He's a great protagonist, but as a supporting cast member, he needs to be more insane to match the draw that is 'Mabel taking care of children,' ha. I also love the idea of there being no portal / some other looming threat for these two to struggle with (at least because Hirsche has made it clear that Dipper and Mabel are equally smart, and to me it seems like the portal would reopen way quicker with them), but I didn't plan on posting these and I don't know how my followers feel about me posting lore.
Stanford and Stanley:
Pretty much how they are in canon, but now they're in a setting where they can get over themselves, ha. They aren't quite as mature as Dipper and Mabel were at their age, but after coming to GF, they finally found other people to look out for them. Dipper could be a more emotionally available and level-headed role model (I think having people to take care of is calming for him in turn), and they'd both look up to Mabel as the peak of somebody who knows how to socialize.
Fiddleford:
He's a sweet, southern, farm-raised mechanical engineer just like in canon.
Idk why Fiddleford is in GF (visiting an unnamed grandparent?), but I really like his relationship with Ford in the journal. Following that thought, in this AU, he starts out more of Ford's friend than Stan's, and it's kind of a big deal. Unlike Dipper's arc on learning to be a kid, Stan and Ford clearly struggled a lot with interpersonal relationships / finding security outside of eachother, and that's what I think this AU could be about (it's great they realized they need each other in canon, but the part where they had no one else to turn to is also kinda crazy if you ask me).
Ford gets to meet another smart kid in a weird town, which helps him feel more normal. He has a better idea of what friendship is because of it, but also, since I can't imagine Dipper wanting an apprentice so young/vulnerable/impressionable or Mabel asking only one of the twins to stay- he'd have to come to terms with the fact that he can't live in his dream world forever. (Or maybe the apprenticeship comes from somewhere else, just because the conflict around going back to Glass Shard Beach at all, or sending Stan alone could be pretty good.)
On the flipside, I think Stan's initial jealousy of Ford and Fiddleford's friendship would force him to try finding his own friends / hobbies. I like the idea that he fails at first- and a lot- but Mabel notices his mounting frustration (which he is very keen on hiding), and her consistent and unorthodox support makes him realize he wasn't alone to begin with. He can be more open around her, which makes it easier to open up to others, and then he can make friends without having to pull any tricks. He probably starts with some animals, and then at least gets closer to Fiddleford anyways (I feel like they're both more practical than Ford and value human company more, so they'd bond easier once Stan gets over his personal hurdle).
Anyways- because that was way too much- Mabel's exes are a constant source of antagonists and Dipper is stressed about setting a good example.
(I was more of a Monster Falls fan back in the day, but I can't draw animals, lol)

spencer x reader where she kisses his forehead and heâs đ„čđ„č
âSpencer, are you dead?âÂ
Spencer ignores your question by accident. Heavy head in hand, heâs slowly sinking closer and closer to the hotel breakfast table to rest. His neck twinges with the effort it takes to stay up.Â
âSpencer,â you say more sharply.Â
His eyes track like the air is honey. He settles on your sluggishly while offering no greeting, tiredness pulling at him. âMy eyes hurt,â he offers.Â
âMake you some tea.âÂ
âUm, okay.â Heâs disappointed when you leave, then dozing, face pressed to his desk as itchy eyes press along lids. It feels as though his eyelashes have turned inward.Â
You return with a cup. Spencer grabs it blindly, lifts his head to squint one eye open. âWhat?â he asks.Â
There isnât tea in the cup. There are tea bags, two of them, wetted and leaking tan beige along the white china of the mug. Distinctly no tea. You must be tired too.Â
âTheyâre for your eyes, Spence. Theyâll make your eyes hurt less. The caffeine restricts your blood vessels to calm the inflammation, and the tea itself soothes sore skin.âÂ
âHow do you know that?â he asks.Â
You rest a hand on his shoulder. âI read about it in a book of modern home remedies. It really works. Here, can you tip your head back?âÂ
Spencer is very, very tired, but your voice is nice, your fingertips gentle against his neck, so he tips his head back. He doesnât know how terrible he looks, having forgotten his untucked shirt, his rumpled sweater vest, his hair sticking up all over the place.Â
âClose your eyes,â you murmur.Â
Spencer shuts them.Â
âItâs cold,â you warn, âbut itâll feel nice.âÂ
Spencer doesnât care. He waits for you to move. The tea bags you place on his closed eyes feel cold and at first they sting just a touch, perhaps tea finding its way through his lashes, and he canât confess to noticing a difference in soreness.Â
âHey⊠whatâs this? It looks like it hurts?â you ask, drawing a short line over the side of the bridge of his nose. Thereâs an indent there that feels like a bruise.
âI fell asleep at my desk with my glasses on,â he says. âThey dug in.âÂ
âYou were up late, Iâm guessing. Maybe you should go back to the room.âÂ
âNo, I canât. Iâll be okay. Thank you for the⊠tea.âÂ
Your hand rests tentatively against his cheek. He canât open his eyes to see what you're feeling, and he doesnât need to. Thereâs emotion to be felt in your slow strokes, how your thumb rests along his jaw as your nail scratches to the top of his ear, then behind the shell of it. Itâs intimate enough to summon a different kind of tiredness. Exhaustion swapped for content. He could sleep in the curve of your palm all day.Â
âYouâre welcome,â you say. âIâm gonna take them off for a second to check the damage.âÂ
You take them. Your breath draws near.Â
A warmth presses to his forehead atop his left eyebrow. Spencer doesnât know what it is until your nose graces just above it, and your lips part âitâs a kiss. Youâre kissing him sweetly, your fingers sewing through his hair.Â
He peels his sore eyes open to look at you. You lean back as unhurried as youâd ferried forward, your hand cradling the nape of his neck.Â
âAre you sure youâre okay?â you ask.Â
Spencer stares up at you. In that moment, tired, aching, and balmed, heâs completely in love with you. You must see a little of it, your lips parting again in an unnamed emotion. Itâs sheer luck that youâre the only one awake with him, because if any of his teammates saw the way he was looking at you theyâd never let him forget it. And, he gets to see your reaction. Your partial smile.Â
âDid that help?â you ask.Â
You must mean the tea. âI feel better.âÂ
âYeah? Do youâŠâ Your voice turns to cashmere, a thread of bemusement tugging at the corner of your mouth. âWould another one be okay?âÂ
Spencer can only nod as you wrap your arms around him and position your mouth at the soft skin where his hair meets his forehead. When you kiss him again, his eyes flutter shut.Â
âYou really need some help with your insomnia,â you murmur.Â
Spencer wonders if maybe youâd want to be that help. You must have melatonin in your kisses.

Steve had been conned into chaperoning the kids to a ren faire.
Admittedly with very little resistance, but he was keeping that to himself. Once there and with their bags packed away into some apparently theme appropriate tents he had shrugged on some medieval casual clothes andâŠimmediately lost track of all of them,
But a figure he did spot was a long haired Jester entertaining a small entourage with juggling,
Steve finds himself laughing slightly condescendingly at the jingling man. Why do people find juggling so impressive?
He picked it up straight away with some hackey sacks while bored between practices. Heâs just good with his hands.
When he looks back up to get another glance in however, the jester isnât perched on top of his little rock anymore and the crowd has merged with the other dweebs.
Steve stares at the empty space for a moment before a jingle right by his ear spooks him into turning around.
âArt thou not impressed by my amazing skills, your lordship?â The jester asks, swaying on his feet and causing the bells all over him to ping, grin wide and mocking.
And up close Steve notices one very important, very dangerous thing.
This court jester is really fucking hot.
He looks like an idiot, a nerd, a dweeb. Its hard not to in a pointy hat. But he also wore it too well, looked too perfect like that.
Steve notices theâŠis that..? Yes, the corset wrapping tightly around the mans waist, red and black diamonds decorating the sides and leading to small puffy shorts. His legs are covered in tight black leggings which should look ridiculous. It should.
An obnoxious cough and head tilt-jingle make Steve aware that he has been staring at the mans waist for way longer than was âbro code permittedâ
He looks up with a wince, expecting a look of disgust ranging from mild embarrassment to punch-your-lights-out.
He was, instead, greeted by a smug and knowing smile. The red and black triangles painted over the mans eyes warped where the grin reached them. âOr maybe thou art impressed, but skills are not what draw thine eyes.â
Shit. Fuck. The stupid hot nerd is using stupid nerd speak on him. And Steves stupid nerd, apparently âvery accurateâ pants are getting tighter. He needs to say something. Anything.
âYouâve gotâŠbells.â Okay, maybe not anything. He used to be better at this shit.
He is rewarded with a wild, joyous laugh as the jester throws his head from side to side. âI do! Isnât it amazing? The staff insisted on it so they could hear me coming.â
âIt certainly makes an impression-â
âEddie, names Eddie. And what does my lordship go by?â
âSteve is fine.â
âThat he isâŠâ The comment was punctuated by a less than subtle glance, almost a leer. âHowever, Fine Steve seems unimpressed with my merrymaking. As the official court jester, I cannot let that stand.â He stamps his foot, causing another cacophony of jingles.â âThereforeâŠâ
ââŠPick a card any card!â A pack of standard cards was presented to him with a flourish, but all he could do was roll his eyes.
âCome on, really? This shit is basic. All I have to do it watch your hands. Youâll swipe my card out and put it back in later, or mark it somehow.â
âOoo his highness has it all figured out doesnât he. Well then, princess, you have nothing to lose by picking a card, do you?â And that wasâŠtrue. Plus he could maybe try to fix his previous fumble and try to claw a number out of this disaster.
So with another bitchy roll of his eyes, Steve plucks a card from the deck and hides it behind his palm. Two of Hearts.
Then out of nowhere⊠âYou know, Stevie, if you think Iâm pretty you can just tell me. I know the kingdom would approve not of a noble like yourself marrying a commoner like me, but they need know little of how weâŠâ He begins to reshuffle the cards, motioning for Steve to place his chosen one back in before making some very obvious, very crude movements with his fingers. ââŠget to know each other in the meantime.â
He was going to die. In the middle of a nerd fest.
âWell, my lordâŠâ Eddie continues, circling him while dragging a finger across his arms and shoulder blades before coming to a stop in front of him. A very bold hand takes Steves jaw and forces his head up, pretending to inspect something on his costume for any bystanders.
âIf you would like some moreâŠclose up demonstrationsâŠâ He leans in tightly, still holding Steveâs jaw in a tight grip. âYou can pay me a visit in staff cabin 23 tonight.â He strokes a piece of hair gently behind Steveâs ear before pulling out a card, as if from said ear.
Steve was glad that Eddie took the initiative to carefully pull his hand up and place the card into his palm, because currently Steve was too preoccupied with staring like a fish out of water into Eddies eyes. Everything about him was just so captivating, so alive.
Maybe thatâs why he did little more than step forward aimlessly, with small grabby hands when Eddie pulled away. Before Steve could even process it, the bells and jingles had mingled back into the crowd. But that wasâŠthat was okay. Cause he could go to theâŠcabin?
But how was he supposed to- Oh. He looks down. On the card was a loosely clipped room key with a â23â crudely engraved into the edge as if by a pocket knife.
The card itself, to his horror, was the Two of Hearts.
Shit.
He forgot to watch the fucking hands.

đđŒđđŒ is it ok to request a fic where jack starts trying to take care of the reader the way he sees his dad does? like maybe hotch is away from a case and reader gets sick or sad or idk, so jack takes it upon himself to be there for reader? like maybe he even starts referring reader with the same pet name hotch calls her? tysm!
like dad does
aw đ„č cw; fem!reader, established relationship, mentions of sickness, fluff <3
you awoke with a gentle start; a trail of cold water trickling down the side of your face, pooling vaguely in your ear.
likewise, a more concrete sensation was set on your forehead - a cold compress. most likely a washcloth, and one that hadn't been wrung out too much at that.
but it was relieving, a delightful contrast from your burning forehead.
"oops," a small mumble came directly from your left ear, as well as a soft exhale of a breath. "sorry."
"jack?" you muttered, rather drowsily. you forced your eyes open, finding jack's sweet, concerned face beside you. "what're you doing?"
"i'm taking care of you." he explained softly, his tone so nonchalant as if it were the most obvious and simplest thing in the world. he reached forward, adjusting the top of the blanket that was draped overtop you. "like dad does. he put the washcloth on you yesterday, you 'member?"
he was right; you were on day two, maybe three? of a nasty bout of the flu. quite honestly you didn't know what day it was, they all blurred together, and your scattered sleep schedule didn't help. you offered him a nod.
"thank you." you gave him a small, closed mouth smile. if it weren't for the germs, you'd reach out to touch his cheek. you sat up a bit from your position in bed, your voice hoarse. "where is your dad?"
"a meeting."
your eyebrows furrowed, the facial movement burning your sinuses. "he's home?"
jack nodded, "he's in his office, but he said it might take a long time. so that's why i'm helping you feel better."
his face brightened a bit, as if a realization struck him. he reached into his pant's pocket, retrieving a few cough drops he had shoved in there, dropping them onto your blanket covered chest.
"i'm sorry i can't make you soup." jack apologized, solemnly as his shoulders dropped. "but i'm not allowed to use the stove."
your face softened, the weak smile resurfacing. "that's okay bud, don't worry. you can help dad make some later when he's done, how 'bout that?"
he nodded enthusiastically, before hoisting himself onto your bed.
"hey no no no, i wouldn't," you protested gently, your heart also melting at his action. "i don't want you getting my germs."
"if i get sick i get sick." that's the same thing aaron had said, multiple times, when he insisted on getting into bed with you earlier. jack scooted somewhat close, staying mainly on his father's side of the bed.
"and if i get sick, i don't need to go to school."
you laughed softly, but finding yourself too weak to argue, you did the only thing you could - go right back to sleep.
it was restless; you were in and out of slumber, and could roughly process jack getting up here and there - solely due to the distant sensation of the washcloth leaving and returning to your forehead, dampened once more.
and once aaron's meeting had ceased, he went in to check on you, and was pleasantly surprised, and touched, to see jack accompanying you.
you were out, with jack diligently watching over, while also keeping himself busy - his sketchbook and colored pencils were scattered amongst the bed.
"how's it going?" aaron asked him from the doorway, the door producing a sharp creak as he pushed it forward a tad.
"good. i brought cough drops, the washcloth, and made sure she got lots of rest. just like you did." jack continued to draw as he spoke, before his head shot right up. "can we make soup?"
"sure buddy," aaron nodded, a tinge of pride pulling at his heart. he tilted his head towards the hallway, and jack immediately scrambled off the bed. "c'mon."
