Dicyanin was a blue dye made from coal-tar. It can be prepared by the action of KOH [potassium hydroxide] + atmospheric O [oxygen] on α-γ-Dimethylquinolinium salts.

The dye is said to make light waves beyond the human eye capability visible. This can only be done by changing the wavelength, something that other dyes will also do and is known as fluorescence.

And the fact that it is banned, might mean it works. Especially since there is no definitive reason it is banned.

Do yall think sometimes Siffrin does normal human things that make sense but are deeply unsettling when you remember they dont remember their childhood. Like do you think Siffrin once woke up startled and shouted "Oh SHIT MY HOMEWORK" and scared Mirabelle who went to wake him up? Or they complained about not wanting to eat certain things cause it made them sick and their parents were upset about it when they were a child? Or they see a stuffed animal and buy it for Bonnie cause they wished they still had their stuffed animals when they were Bonnie's age? Or he sings a lullaby to himself when trying to fall asleep and Isa asks for its name and Siffrin just kind of shrugs and says it was what his mom used to sing for him? Just so normal and deeply ingrained but forgotten? Like I think that would be fucked up, yall think its fucked up? Also it would be mainly childish things cause ya fella ran away when they were a kid </3

most ridiculous takes i've seen thus far have been the "ohhhh mark doesn't deserrrveee gemma so its actually a good thing that he walked away" type shit. 😐 its like. hey you care about this character? you care about her agency in the narrative? you care about her happiness? then maybe its time to fucking listen to her when she says she wants her husband back!!!!!! she wants her dead wife!!!!! some of y'all acting like gemma is a plot device that mark does or does not get to have when she is a fully fleshed-out character in her own right! a character who has routinely expressed a desire to a) get out of hell, b) take back the life she was ripped away from, and c) be with her husband!! desires she just so happens to share with outie mark! and its messy of course it's messy this show is messy and thats the point. but some people are all-too-eager to ignore the established character she is in favour of what they wish she was. take the loose thread of "mark dead wife" that doesn't fit into the desired narrative and tie it all off into a neat bow....... absurd.
