especially in the earlier eras he had to put a lot more effort into styling/dyeing his hair to cover his ears & the blueness/Elf Sparkle. he also wore glasses for a while to dim the Treelight Eyes (because even as badly faded as he is, it's still really obvious with how old he is).

A young wannabe Blitzball ace. Jecht at 17 years old was still as much of a braggart as he is later in life but it took a while for him to reach the height of stardom, i imagine he has a lot of Tidus mannerisms.

#the challange here was trying to ensure Jecht looked like Jecht even without having all his 'jechtsms' no beard no bandanna #and no shirtlessness ! the most recgnozeable aspect about him #i took a lot of inspo from early tidus concept arts #and even liked the idea that jecht had to take a side gig as a mechanic as a sort of reference to earlier ffx storyline drafts #i picture a sort of crisis core low-stakes prequel where we see Jecht as a young man and meeting Tidus's mother #i hc she gave him the bandana for good luck #i also think it would be fun to examine and shed a lot more light on her love with Jecht #because everything strikes me that she had a strong obessive love with Jecht and i would love to shine a spotlight on that further #maybe she was Jechts first fan?#my art #ffx #ff10 #final fantasy x #final fantasy 10 #jecht #ffx jecht #fanart #my concept art
