I’m obsessed with any women who try to scam their way into marriage so I have this random ass post canon Asivia idea where she shows up at the kingdom and most of the cast is like “oh, of course, she’s gunning for Laios again now that he’s king” but she’s actually gunning for someone else in the court and no one picks up on that. Misunderstandings ensue
#once bitten twice shy but it applies to everyone including her#dungeon meshi manga spoilers#asivia#anyway I’ll keep thinking about it#maybe I’ll write it once I’m home for summer break

SERIES MASTERLIST
Gilded Constellations | (wolfstar x reader)
Summary: You meet Sirius and Regulus at a family vacation in the Caribbean, but things don't go as planned and you end up losing contact once the trip is over. Years later your family moves to England and you get accepted at Hogwarts where you finally meet Sirius once again, along with all of his friends. One of them with a mysterious secret, that you'll uncover as you embark on your own Hogwarts adventure. Mostly canon-compliant. This IS a wolfstar x reader fic, but it's incredibly slow burn. They won't start all dating each other until we're very deep into the story, but I promise the long wait will be worth it.

A/N: Most Poly!Marauders fics are oneshots, where the relationship between characters is already established, and they're all happy and pleased with it. No issues, no drama, but I WANTED the drama. Couldn't find it, so I set myself up to write the story behind the stablished relationship. I wanted to know how they started dating each other, the jealousy, the will they won't they, because getting into a poly relationship can't be an easy task, and I wanted to explore that story. If you're interested: Welcome to Gilded Constellations!

murder in her eyes
Nyx x f!Reader
Summary: Determined to claw your way out of your home camp, you decide it’s time to learn to wield the Illyrian bow, and your best friend won't let you learn alone.
Word Count: 6501
Warnings: canon typical themes, sexism, violence, injury
A/N: this is pretty much all inspired by one line from acofs that I think about too much.
“I’m jealous of you sometimes,” she admitted to Nyx. They were gathered on the outskirts of the village where he’d been sent to train. She kicked her feet out in front of her. The bark of the log she sat on cut through her thin summer pants, pressing into her skin. Instead of being painful or itching, it felt comforting and reminded her she’s still alive.
“Why?” He cut a glance to her from where he was sharpening one of his knives.
“You get to leave.” The absolute truth. She was stuck in this damn village likely for the rest of her life, unless she somehow managed to escape or marry into another. “And I’m just -,” you waved a hand, hoping that would get the rest of your point across. It did.
“You’re allowed to leave at any time.” He recited, but she could tell he didn’t really believe it. There’s no official laws forbidding her from leaving. In fact, there’s one against it - written on paper by his father, but actually writing a law and enacting it are two very different things. At least she can’t be officially punished for trying to leave.
“You know it’s not that easy.” Her last attempt hadn’t worked. Despite her friendship with Nyx, probably in spite of it, they dragged her ass back here. No matter how fast she flew, they were faster. They caught her, dragged her back and told her if she tried again they’d break her wings and make it look like an accident. One day, when she was fast and strong enough she’d get the hell out of here. But until then …
“I thought you liked it here.” Gods, she loved it. Illyria was beautiful despite its cruelty and she couldn’t imagine living anywhere else, but it became suffocating and all consuming especially as she grew older. Besides, it was all that she’d known, there was nowhere for her to compare it to. Unfortunately, with each year, the expectations to marry became stronger. Even though they let her train, they ridiculed her at every turn. Her father said it would make it almost impossible to marry her off, and frequently encouraged her to quit. Little did he know, saying it would make her undesirable for marriage was prime fuel for her to keep going. She refused to quit and accept her natural place, to let her ‘natural place’ be below, subservient, predestined. She’d seen and even spoken to Emerie, she knew who she could become if she truly pushed herself. Long ago she’d decided she’d work and work until she was never weak again.
“I’m thinking about taking up the bow.” She switched topics quickly. If she tells him, and they find out … she knows they’ll make good on their promise.
-
Rhys overheard a single sentence of conversation between his son and his friend. He’d been curious about the friendship at first, and maybe a bit wary but she hadn’t done anything outrageous, in fact she’s one of the few females who continued to train despite all of the leers and ridicule she faced.
“I’m thinking about taking up the bow.”
Many males couldn’t muster up the strength to take up the bow. Still, the line triggered something in his memory, something he told himself over a decade ago, during a visit to Windhaven. ‘If one of the girls decided to take up the Illyrian bow, I’d oversee her lessons myself,’ and stepped out of the shadows as if compelled.
“I’ll oversee your lessons myself,” he pressed his back against a branch and tucked his hands into his pockets. The female jumped, her eyes wide. Nyx glared at him, pissed off that he was eavesdropping, or probably more upset with himself that he didn’t catch him. He didn’t particularly care too much, and his mouth quirked up at the corners. “Nyx can accompany you for lessons once a week, in Velaris.”
The words came naturally, and he wondered if this was a plan written out by the mother decades or centuries before the two in front of them were born. Perhaps, and as much as his son’s potential love life intrigued him he had more urgent court business to attend to. Anyway, Nyx definitely wouldn’t appreciate his hovering or interfering, so he did his best to take a step back. His best wasn’t great, but it was something.
“T-thank you, High Lord” she stumbled out and he frowned at the honorific, holding up a hand.
“Just Rhys,” he gently corrected. She didn’t look completely convinced, but Nyx elbowed her, his eyes glazing over, saying something directly to her. He didn’t pry. Besides, his son had taught her how to keep iron shields locked up around her mind. It’s possible there was something else going on there. Not that Nyx would tell him … maybe he could convince Cassian to get it out of him, he’d always been more willing to speak to him about those kinds of things. He’d said he was ‘not great,’ after all. Rhys shoved the thought to the back of his mind for now, making a mental note to address it later. “Are you going to learn with her?” He asked Nyx. A taunt and a challenge. He’d wondered why it took Nyx so long to ‘agree’ - like he hadn’t just volunteered him - to learn the bow, but perhaps it was a who.
“Of course.” Nyx glared at him. He could’ve sworn a blush covered his cheeks when he glanced back at her. He’d definitely be asking Cassian.
-
She bit on her bottom lip, watching Nyx glare at his father. Learning the bow and a chance to leave Windhaven once a week sounded like heaven. Maybe it’s good fortune his father happened to overhear the conversation, even if it’s embarrassing.
‘Not embarrassing’ she chided herself. There’s nothing embarrassing about wanting to train, wanting to learn to fight. Besides, if she learns to wield the bow - something several Illyrian males never learn to do, maybe that would finally prove her skill and worthiness.
Eyes a bit dreamy, she hid in the shadows, letting the cool embrace her as she watched a male return the Illyrian bow to its hold. Silver, well made, and nearly as tall as her. Heavy, too, based on what she remembered from the time she tried to steal one. That was a mistake. All she’d achieved was getting it stuck in the mud. To cover her scent, she’d spread more mud over it, and just caused rampant confusion in the morning. The males actually training with the bows had hell to pay for her mistake, but they’d always jeered at her for wanting to train so she didn’t find she cared too much.
-
“Why haven’t you invited her to train with the Valkyries?” Nesta asked Nyx later that week, after his Father - embarrassingly - announced he’d been learning to wield the bow, with a ‘female friend’ of his, causing a few intrigued looks.
“It’s not like that,” he’d insisted, aware you'd have his head if you found out he gave any other kind of impression. Still, relaxed as he was around his family he maintained the perfect control taught to him from a young age.
His uncle Cassian’s eyes lit up in mischief, but he caught Amren, who hated being called Aunt for some reason, sending a glare his way - backed up by Mor. At least the females were on his side.
“I never thought of it.” His mother raised one eyebrow at him, calling out his bullshit, but didn’t comment. He’d thought of it, but he’s not certain she would want to train away from the village. That part was also bullshit, she’d do anything to get away from there, but if she was training with the Valkyries he’d never see her. Never see his closest friend. Just a friend. Cassian had grilled him about her, fishing for answers - if he liked her in that way. Even though he did, he wouldn’t act on it. She had enough males panting after her and didn’t want her to feel pressured in any way. If her family caught wind of his or her interest they’d either push her to pursue it to the ends of the world or do their best to drive her away from him. The last thing she needed was more pressure on her.
Their conversation from the other day still lingered in his mind. ‘You know it’s not that easy.’ Had she tried to leave? If so, why wouldn’t she tell him about it? She knows he would help her.
-
The string dug painfully into her cheek as she pulled it back, her wrist quivering slightly. She shouldn’t be glad Nyx was struggling next to her, but it reassured her.
“Good.” She heard his father behind them, and they both lowered it. The lesson consisted of how to hold it, and practicing pulling the string back, time and time again. They’d done it for hours, but she wouldn’t complain. Not one word of complaint would leave her lips. She caught a glimpse of Velaris as they landed on a balcony. Nyx had called it the House of Wind. One level below, at a different training courtyard, females were practicing with swords, sparring with each other. Priestesses, most of them, with the blue robes but some others wearing Illyrian leathers. The Valkyries. She caught a glimpse of Emerie. She wondered if the female knew how idolized she was by a select few females.
She’d heard of them in passing, mostly with sneers and snarky remarks but she thought it was admirable. A female from her village, Emerie, had helped found them, and was one of the original three Valkyries, a year or two before she was born. She wondered if she had to be a priestess to become a Valkyrie. Holy vows might be a bit beyond her. She refocused on the lesson, thankfully and sadly at an end. Nyx winnowed her back to Windhaven but had to leave quickly for some high-lord-in-training duties, and promised he’d be back the next day.
Nyx had become the only reason she was staying sane over the last few years, and she thanked the Mother every day for that friendship, and that he’d never pushed or shown any interest beyond that. Of course, there was a tiny bit of attraction on her side but she wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize their friendship. Not a damn thing, and made sure her friends and family knew it was completely platonic.
-
They were sitting in their usual spot, tucked out of sight from the village but not too far into the mountains, when he asked her a question she’d been dreading. “Have you tried to leave before?”
She couldn’t lie to him, he always knew when. “Once,” she admitted and pointedly ignored the gaze branding into her side.
“And you came back?”
Not willingly, but she did. “Obviously,” her heart beat faster, her palms sweating slightly, and she prayed he wouldn’t ask if she did willingly. She didn’t want to lie to him, and didn’t want to answer.
“Look at me.” His voice was deceptively soft and mild, but she looked at him and saw anger dancing in his eyes. He’d read right through her. “Who?”
“It doesn’t matter,” she shook her head, fixing her gaze firmly on the sunset lowering over the mountains, the sun perfectly aligned between two peaks.
“It does.” From the corner of her eye, she saw him reach out towards her, but seemed to think better of it and withdrew his hand. She wished he wouldn’t have and cursed herself for wishing that. “I’ll find out.” He added when she didn’t reply.
That caught her attention, and she snapped her head to him. “Don’t go digging into it.” Her voice was desperate, her nails digging into her thighs. “Please.”
Nyx swallowed harshly, and frowned at her. “If someone hurt you, I want to know.”
“It’ll make things worse.”
His mouth parted slightly, ready to protest, but closed again. The way he looked at her made her feel like he had access to her innermost thoughts, could read right through her and see every little thing she was thinking. But - he wasn’t in her mind, he’d taught her to protect it and she would know if he was. The pause before his reply was only seconds, but it seemed to stretch on for eternity.
“Alright.” A muscle in his jaw flecked. Her eyes darted to where his fists clenched. He wasn’t happy about it, but he could deal with it. She didn’t need a male savior anyway, she just needed her best friend.
-
She hadn’t denied that someone hurt her, and he promised he wouldn’t go digging into it. But - he didn’t say anything about others. There’s several people he could ask to look into what happened after she tried to leave, but that felt like a betrayal of her trust. Still, a protective instinct in him flared, wanting to eliminate any threat to his … his friend. Nyx felt lost. He’d always known what to do next, where to find a solution, or how to help but she said it would ‘make things worse.’ If he told his parents, Cassian, or Azriel they’d probably go combing through the village to figure out what happened and she would suffer the consequences from that, whatever they might be. There’s one person he could ask … someone who had been in a similar situation.
“Can you keep it from my parents and everyone else?” He asked cautiously. Mor raised a brow, but nodded.
“Is it about your … friend?” Her red-stained lips curved into a smirk. Everyone knows about her, by now. The entire lot of them are complete busy bodies.
“Yes.” He sighed, and her eyes lit up, “but not what you’re thinking.”
She motioned for him to continue, and everything he knew about the situation - not much at all - spilled out. He saw anger flare in her eyes once, but for the most part she remained calm, listening carefully to each word. “What do I do?” He finally asked.
Mor paused for a few moments, tilting her head. “Follow her wishes.” Gods that’s the last thing he wanted to hear. Apparently she could tell because she snorted. “Offer to help her, when she’s ready. Make sure she knows you will.”
He could do that, he could wait until she’s ready to leave. The Mother only knew he’d wait a ridiculous amount of time for her, do ridiculous things to ensure her safety and happiness, just like she’d do the same for him.
-
The lessons, in Velaris, started becoming her favorite part of each week. Every Friday, around dawn, she’d wait anxiously at the edge of camp for Nyx to come. Velaris was too far to fly in a day, reasonably, so she had to rely on him to make it on time. The one and only time he’d been late, they both paid the price for it and as soon as they got back to Windhaven, she berated him and told him if he did it again she’d cut his favorite part off. That seemed to get through to him because he was never late again.
In the spare time she could find, she would practice. They couldn’t refuse her using one of the many bows set aside for training, not since they were trying to stay on the High Lord’s good side. In all honesty, both her and Nyx were absolutely terrible in the beginning, but slowly improved over the weeks. Painfully slowly. His father had reassured them it took years for him to master it. A few times, other members of the inner circle had appeared and mostly grilled her with questions as Nyx glowered at them. How her training is going in Illyria, her family, what she thinks of Windhaven, her favorite food, they were endless. She answered all of them very carefully, dodging around anything negative that could get back to them.
She desperately wanted to see the rest of Velaris, and when she thought nobody was looking she’d take the time to peer out over the city. A river cut through it, and the entire place seemed vibrant with life - even though she couldn’t see any details very well. She never went beyond the House of Wind. Maybe when she finally left she could come live in Velaris. There had been brief whispers of the city, but several still believed it to be a myth. Residency there was by application or invitation only, and she didn’t know of a single Illyrian living permanently in the city. Perhaps she could be the first.
She heard footsteps approaching her - heavy for Fae, and recognized the scent. Her father. Her entire body tensed as he appeared, stopping a few feet in front of her and looking at her with distaste. She’s used to that by now, the looks didn’t bother her, but the fact that he’s here now does. She hadn’t told him exactly where she goes, and he hadn’t bothered to ask. Still, he probably heard through rumors what she’s been doing.
“What do you want,” She bit back a sigh, trying not to sound too disrespectful, adding “sir?” to the end for good measure.
“You need to stop.”
“Stop what?” Her voice grew sharper, attention now caught.
“Going wherever you do, practicing with a bow.”
She forced her breathing to stay steady, and tamped down some of the rage. “You can’t make me.” She didn’t bother asking why, the answer would be as useless as it was obvious. Female.
“Accidents happen.”
“Accidents are noticed.” She said through gritted teeth.
“You can’t practice with a broken wing.”
Her eyes shuddered closed. He would really do it, and she knew that. What could she do to stop him if he actually put his mind to it? Running away hadn’t worked, but this is one thing she finally had for herself, and was very reluctant to give it up.
“It’s not my fault you were never good enough to master the Illyrian bow,” that was not what she intended to leave her mouth, especially not at full attitude. Not at all. Fuck.
His nostrils flared, eyes widened, and a crack as the back of his hand slammed across her face, her lip catching on her canine, tearing. She showed no reaction. She knew better. More blows rained, her wing twisted, she bit her lip to hide a scream.
Maybe she was already stronger than him, but she wouldn’t know that strength as the child inside of her rose to the front, the old habits of learning to be small, to make herself palatable, to minimize the damage, reared.
By the time she broke free of the child-like mold paralyzing her, it was too late to fight back, she’d already been tossed out into the snow, door slamming behind her.
It was Friday. She would be late. He chose his dates well. Her body was in horrible shape, she knew that, but the fear of disappointing her instructors kept her going. One foot in front of the other, wings lopsided with her left one barely hovering above the ground, body swaying back and forth with each step, vision blurring in and out of focus.
Specks of blood sprinkled her footsteps, leaking down to decorate her clothing as well. Maybe they’d be late too, and she’d have time to make herself palatable.
“She’s never late -” She heard Nyx - he was speaking loudly.
“Oh you’ll have fun today,” Mor was picking them up this time.
She knew when Nyx sensed her presence, felt the shift in the world as she passed between the two trees into the clearing, her companions a few hundred feet away.
The sight of Nyx, of her best friend, made her feel like she could be whole again.
“Sssorry,” the word slurred over her puffy lip, “I’m late.”
They winnowed to her side and caught her just before she collapsed.
-
“See what they did to her,” Nyx screamed to the room, Cassian’s arms still wrapped around his chest.
His father’s rough hands brushed against his cheeks.
“I see,” his voice was deadly and calm. Nyx didn’t care for calm right now. Not with her in the next room, looking so broken. He was ready to fly into a rage beyond anything reason could fathom.
Catching the curt nod from his father, the panicked look in his eyes, Cassian’s arms released him and his father barely stepped in in time to grab him before he winnowed himself.
A distant mountain range. Far from where he could hurt a soul.
That was the problem, he needed to cause pain. Someone needed to pay.
“If you kill them now, what will it solve?” His father asked.
He didn’t answer. He didn’t need to.
“Who’s revenge is it?” His fathers voice had dropped, but the intensity grew. “Would you take that from her?” Nobody knew her like Nyx did. Death, pain in equal or greater suffering, not just for herself but to save the next female. “For each male like that to die, another takes his place.”
Why was he still. Fucking. Speaking.
“And you haven’t managed to solve that,” Nyx said flatly, knowing the words would hit - would find their mark. He sensed the wince. He couldn’t bring himself to feel guilt now, that was for later. “What would you do if it was my mother lying in the other room?” Was he giving away too much? He’d kept the secret for so long it didn’t matter to him now. It seemed stupid, in hindsight, waiting for you to realize. “What would you do if it was your mate bleeding and broken?”
“Hope someone would keep me from doing something she’d be pissed at,” he responded, a touch of shock to his voice. For some reason, that pissed Nyx off more than before.
“Yes, I have a mate,” he enunciated each word so clearly it felt like he was spitting them. “And this place,” he waved a hand at the mountain ranges beyond in the vague direction of her home, “is killing her, day by day and i’m fucking helpless.” His knees hit the icy earth, pushing through the snow. The ground rumbled beneath him. “I can’t help my mate,” he whispered. A mountain top cracked somewhere in the distance. Birds flew. Wind howled.
He repeated the words, screamed them with none but his father and the blossoming warmth in his chest as a witness.
-
“By the mother, wake up,” Nyx half pleaded, half ordered.
“I’m awake,” she countered. Again. How many different versions of this one conversation did they need to have?
“I want my best friend back.” Yes, you’d been a little moody but its not like you disappeared to the ether lands. You were just … contemplative. There was a lot to think about.
“She’s right fucking here,” she tried to add a bit of a sing-song lilt to her voice, but instead it cracked. Like a young male’s would.
Pursing her lips together, she finally glanced at him, the laugh threatening to burst out of her chest.
The amusement and tip of an insult in his eyes brought it out.
Several minutes later, and slow breaths later, she’d calmed and her ribs slowed from a sharp pain to a dull ache. She didn’t dare express any kind of pain or discomfort to her mother hen, gods only know he’s enough of one now.
“I should go back soon,” she said, without a whole lot of intention.
“You’re not going back,” Nyx hissed. Oh. He caught her attention, and not in a good way. The sheepish expression on his face meant he knew it too. “Sorry,” he murmured, “instincts.”
Instincts? Nyx had never used that excuse with her before. Well, perhaps it was a reason rather than an excuse. If he was in this bed … she didn’t want to think of the rage and damage she’d induce on his behalf. Of how much destruction she’d leave in the wake of her pain. If anyone dared hurt Nyx. Well, there were others that might get to the culprits first but she wasn’t too proud to beg for scraps.
A gentle poke to her shoulder drew her from her swirling thoughts. “Hm?”
“Where’d you go?” Nyx played with a strand of her hair, tucking it behind her ear. Her cheeks heated but he had the good grace to ignore that. There’s a lot they’d been ignoring recently.
Still, his question. There was no point in lying to Nyx, he’d always find out. “I was thinking of what I would do if I was in your place.”
A too long pause before he replied, “and what would that be?”
“I’d want to kill half of the world from spite,” she said with a grin, but meant each word.
“Are you disappointed I didn’t?” He sounded oddly insecure.
She snorted, “absolutely not. You know I can … can handle myself.”
That last part felt like a lie.
“I know you can,” he ran his thumb over the back of her hand, the movement so gentle yet connected. “I’m here to talk about it when you’re ready.”
Not a command, not an order, just a pure statement of fact. She wished, in that moment and many others, that there was a chance of something for Nyx and her. It would make so much fucking sense, but it never quite worked out, and he’d shown zero sign wishing to pursue of feelings for her beyond friendly, even if they might exist.
It was enough to be his best friend, and she’d stick by that for the rest of her days if she had to.
“You keep drifting off,” she heard the frown in his voice.
“I am recovering,” she drawled.
“And you keep trying to get out of bed.”
“Only because I shall go insane if I'm in this room much longer.”
‘It’s been three days.”
She missed the easy banter between the two of them. It meant everything to her to regain this small bit of normalcy. Nyx’s friendship meant everything to her, she refused to compromise it. It would take the cauldron itself, the Mother herself, and more to get her to so much as risk that.
“I don’t understand how you’re so calm about this,” Nyx murmured, dragging his chair closer to her, winding their fingers together. He’d never done that before. Best friends, yes, but he’d never breached the barrier of physical intimacy, even platonic - the two of them always scared what it might be interpreted as. That could go unsaid. But now … she wasn’t in Illyria and perhaps he needed the reminder that she was warm and alive and breathing and here.
“I’m not,” she squeezed his hand. “But I could give the females in theaters a run for their money,” a weak smile accompanied the statement.
“Sure,” he laughed, leaning down and pressing a kiss to the center of her forehead, his lips lingering for a second. Her entire body tensed. His eyes bugged, he released her hand just as the door swung open.
Madja, right in perfect or horrible timing.
-
“You’ve never been to the theater,” Nyx said blandly, remembering her earlier comment.
She looked down at her hands, small scars general from life in Illyria flickering them. “I’ve read about them,” her voice was quiet, and he felt like an asshole.
Read about them. Nyx had taught her how to read, so many years ago, because she hadn’t read his favorite book and he desperately wanted to be her friend but in his mind it was impossible for the two of them to be friends if she hadn’t read it, hence reading lessons. She’d threatened him enough to earn a prison sentence during it, but obviously both the teaching and friendship worked. Beautifully, in his opinion.
“I’ll take you,” he said a tad late, but she didn’t seem to notice.
“In Velaris?” Her eyes lit up, shoulders pushed back but chest forward, leaning towards him.
“In Velaris,” he promised, and got the sense that … It was crucial, somehow, that he showed her his city. He hadn’t gotten the chance yet, after all.
She looked ready to jump up and cheer, so much so that he stepped closer, ready to help support her if needed.
“I’ve always wanted -” her mouth snapped shut. He looked back at the door. Nobody.
“Always wanted what?” Nyx pushed.
A few moments pause. “To see the city,” she finally said quietly.
He felt like an ass for not taking her to see it sooner.
“Then you better rest up,” he winked at her. “I’ll be your guide.”
With that, he had to leave. It was the most beautiful misery to be around you without you aware of the bond. For all of his bravado on the mountain, he still hadn’t the courage to tell you. One of these days, he’d find it. Nyx just hoped it wasn’t too late when he did.
-
She frowned at his back. Leaving after a promise like that. Well, she supposed to him it might not be quite as world changing and ground shaking, but to her it seemed like everything in that moment, and maybe even something that ought to be celebrated. Or, the injuries still rattled her brain and she wasn’t thinking clearly.
Nyx was good for his promises. That was a fact. He’d never broken a single one to her, and she’d never broken a single one to him. Hopefully, it stayed that way.
Three thuds on the door, citrus and cinnamon flickering through the door - a scent she vaguely recognized.
“May I come in?” A muffled voice sounded. It was a ridiculously thick oak wood door from what she could tell. She called her agreement, and the Morrigan - Mor - she mentally corrected herself, strode through the door, beaming.
She was gorgeous, warm brown eyes and blonde hair, ruby red lips, and an effortless grace and confidence she wished she could channel sometimes.
‘A free female,’ she thought. ‘That’s what a free female looks like.’
“How are you doing?” Mor asked, and she could hear the sincerity in her tone.
“The injuries aren’t healing as quickly as I’d like,” she admitted. “And I’m sick of this bed.”
“I’m afraid if Madja orders bedrest, you’re quite stuck,” Mor shot her a sympathetic grin, like she’d been in that place before. Probably had. “As glad as I am to hear you’re healing, we have more unpleasant things to talk about,” her voice dropped just a tad, a sternness entering that made her back subconsciously straighten, “like what’s going to happen next.”
She’d mentally prepped herself for this. The return to Illyria. She nodded, more to herself.
A warm hand covered her own, squeezing lightly.
“We won’t make you return there, not if you don’t want to.”
Her heart dropped to her stomach, mouth parting, eyes widened, heart racing.
The corner of Mor’s lips curled into a tentative smile, “we haven’t told Nyx about offering you a place here, although I suspect he would want to do it on his own. It’s important to - to me - that you get to make this choice of your own accord, with minimal influences.”
In other words, she wanted her to have a true choice, for once.
“I’m not ready to go back,” she admitted. “Does that make me -”
“No,” Mor squeezed her hand again, refusing to let the words be spoken into the world. “If anything, it makes you brave to start over somewhere new.”
At this very moment, she didn’t feel brave, but she supposed that could come with time.
“We’ll make preparations to get you settled,” Mor started speaking and she did her best to pay attention, really did, but the healing tonic had a sedative effect and a yawn slipped. She laughed softly, “I’ll come back another time.” Mor stood, brushing down her pants. “For what it's worth,” she started slowly, as if uncertain. “I’m glad you’ve agreed to stay for now.”
“So am I,” she grinned. It took until she was drifting off to sleep for her to realize it had been implied she was staying in Velaris, that they’d assumed she would want to make this city her home. Maybe to another it would’ve been an insult, but it warmed her heart that they wanted her here. She felt quite special.
-
Time passed, and she healed, in more ways than one.
With some encouragement from Lady - no, just Nesta, she saw one of the priestesses from the library. That, she believed, really made the difference to her. Someone to listen without judgment, trying to fix things, or push themselves into her situation. She loved Nyx, as a friend of course, truly did, but he always tried to fix things for her and there were some things that were better left broken for a while. Not everything could be fixed, and she learned to accept her peace with that. She’d never have a relationship with her father, for one. Not that she was missing out on much. In her eyes, he’d grown irredeemable. Maybe that was the hardest lesson she’d learned.
Lifting her pen from the paper, sticking it back into the ink pot, she blew lightly to dry the ink. Transcribing for the priestesses was slow, but she’d insisted she have some kind of work, and turns out she had a knack for deciphering nearly illegible handwriting.
“How do you read that?” Nyx asked. She was thankful she’d already put the pen away, otherwise there might have been ink thrown all of her hard work.
“I’m used to reading your notes,” she retorted.
It was another book, you bit back your squeal of delight. You’d nearly begged him to bring another after you’d finished the first. It was slow progress, considering you were technically still learning how to read, but he’d chosen books that just worked.
Each one had a series of notes, tucked in between pages at parts Nyx thought were particularly important, and thought it was highly important you hear his opinion on those parts.
He snorted. “My handwriting is elegant.”
“Glorified chicken scrawl.”
He made a sound of mock offense, she bit down on her lip to hide a laugh, ducking her head. The sound of his laughter pealing through the air brought hers out.
“Are you ready?” He asked when they’d both calmed somewhat.
“I’m not finished.” It was a half-truth. She could be finished, but she didn’t want to be.
“You’re working too much,” he complained.
“I’m earning my keep.”
“You’ve done enough for the day,” Nyx insisted, sliding the book further away from her.
She sighed and tilted her head up to meet his eyes. He looked so earnest, and she hadn’t actually seen that much of him recently. Just his presence made something warm bloom in her chest, like always. Nyx had always been her warmth. A warmth he showed to a select few, but receiving it felt like the most precious gift and she found herself with an inexplicable chill of sorts without him nearby, like an itch she could never scratch. A subconscious smile crept onto her face, and she started packing her things. Only because it’s him, she told herself. She was lucky to have him as her best friend, she wouldn’t trade the friendship for anything.
-
Three days later, the theater was back in season and she was aching to go. Mor - mother above it was still a little strange to call her that - took her once last season and she absolutely adored it. The costumes, the actresses and actors, the talent, the music, even the way they painted their faces for the crowds. Every bit of it made her heart feel full in a way she hadn’t realized was possible.
But tonight, the first night of the season, when the stage should have her full attention she was stuck on the male next to her. Beautiful in his well fitting dark suit, stitched with gold and violet accents that brought out the varying shades in his eyes.
Beautiful. She’d just called her best friend beautiful. Well, she supposed it was the truth. Nyx was one of the most beautiful, she was getting sick of that word, Fae she’d encountered. It didn’t mean she liked him or was attracted to him like that. Friendship. Friendship was good, safe, and she liked safe. Losing him would wreck her and she absolutely couldn’t afford to put her new life in jeopardy, even if her heart craved him, even if lying to herself was destroying her a little each day.
“This is ridiculous,” Nyx sighed, leaning back in the seat. The two of them had managed to get a box to yourselves for the night. Well, Nyx managed it. His elbow brushed against hers.
“I thought the play was done quite well,” she murmured. They were approaching the closing scenes now, she could tell at this point.
“Not that,” he reached over and covered her hand with his own.
“Wh-,” she started.
“Watch the play,” he cut her off with a mischievous smile. Grinding her teeth together, she listened for once.
Watching the play was bullshit. He knew she wouldn’t be able to focus on it, not with how right his skin felt on hers and how his thumb gently brushed back and forth across her knuckles.
They both stayed until the theater cleared out, Nyx’s shield keeping the workers from coming into their box.
“Did you ever get your revenge?”
She knew what he was talking about. “Not the way you expect,” she flipped her palm so she could squeeze his hand. “Revenge doesn’t always have to be ice cold or bloody, sometimes it can mean living your best life and thriving without them.” Nyx paused, like this might be a foreign concept to him. It probably was. “But I’ll get the kind of revenge you’re thinking of when I'm ready. Although, I think hearing whispers of me living here, of my existence being possible outside of their bubble may hurt more.”
Nyx frowned, “I don’t know about that one.”
She was suddenly aware of just how long they’d been holding hands, and moved to withdraw hers. He clutched on tighter, as if her touch was the only thing grounding her to this world. She stilled. Whatever was happening, it was the beginning of something else, and that terrified and excited her in ways her brain couldn’t possibly comprehend. In ways only he could.
“Can I get a pass to do something potentially stupid?” Nyx asked.
“Depends what it is,” she replied automatically.
“I can’t tell you,” did he sound a touch pained or was she hallucinating?
“Fine,” she said with mock annoyance, mainly because she was curious and maybe a little hopeful.
But Nyx wouldn’t -
A palm brushed against her cheek, and he did.

It’s now been eight months since you’ve broken up with König. When you found out about the trackers he put on your phone and car, it was just the straw that broke the camel's back. Since then, you’ve moved into your own apartment an hour away from König. Your phone number has been changed along with all social media deactivated.
The last several months have been hard, but you’ve been pushing through so well. Too well, actually. König never lost track of you. He knows your new address, phone number, job, and schedule. You changed your scenery, but not who you are. So, when you left one day, he knew where to look.
Of course, you move to your favorite city. You know König hates the city. He never wanted to move here. You move into the apartment that is only ten minutes from a bookstore, one that you become a frequent customer of quickly. König knows you like the back of his hand. There is no escaping him.
One thing he didn’t expect was you finding someone so quickly. It’s only been eight months. You were together for five years. It should take you longer to move on before realizing there is no one else for you. What the fuck is this?
König walks behind you at a distance as you walk to your date. Wearing a yellow summer dress compliments your body, paired with white sandals. Is that…make-up? That’s not right, you don’t wear make-up; you don’t need it. You’re so naturally beautiful.
He watches you walk into a café. A very handsome brunette man stands and hugs you. His hand resting above your ass, comfortable with your body as if he’s touched it already. When did he miss this? He glares at the two of you before walking away and going to your apartment.
While you’re out on your nice little date, König breaks into your apartment. Not really breaking in when he finds your spare and uses it, right? He enters your apartment for the first time, taking a deep breath. It smells just like you.
König walks throughout your home, looking at the new photos on the wall of your city friends. One of you with this new guy. He knocks it over. He continues on to your bedroom, seeing your bed is messy; you never make it. His eyes drift to the floor where he sees a pair of black underwear. With little thought, he stands and walks to them. A little white stain, you were aroused? By what? Who?
König lifts the underwear under his mask and to his nose, taking in a deep breath. Exquisite. He shoves the underwear into his pocket and keeps looking. Stepping into your bathroom, he turns the light on. His eyes fall to a little purple case near the sink. It can’t be. Is his little Schatz on birth control?
A sharp stinging feeling deep in his gut travels up to his heart. The mental image of that pathetic worthless man going raw into his Kleine Perle disgust him. You’re whoring yourself out, he knew you’d be lost without him.
He turns the light off and sits on the toilet, pulling out your panties to sniff while he waits for you. An hour passes and he began to grow worried that maybe you went back home with that loser. Right as he was going to check his phone, he hears your keys in the door.
You enter your apartment while on the phone. For safety, you always call a friend while walking.
“Yeah, I’m home now though. I love you, Ann. I’ll see you Tuesday.” Once you hang up, you kick your shoes off and place your purse on the hook.
As you pass your photos in the living room, you notice the photo of you and Finn has been knocked over. A wave of anxiety rushes over you. You try to reason with yourself. It’s almost been a year and you’ve never seen König. He’s probably moved on the same way you have.
You enter your bedroom and turn the lights on. The door closes behind you as you take off your dress, tossing it into the hamper. You grab out a pair of pajamas, placing them on your bed. Reaching behind your back, you unhook your bra, tossing it aside. When you do, you look down at the floor and notice your black pair of underwear is missing.
Maybe you put it in the hamper? Slowly, you walk to the hamper and look inside. At that moment, your bathroom door opens. Your eyes go up and meet the dreadful pale blue eyes. Your heart beat sky rockets, your feet moving ahead of your brain as you turn to run.
König is fast. He reaches out and wraps his arms tightly around your stomach. Lifting you in the air as you kick and scream, slamming you down hard on the bed. The air leaves your lungs and your screaming stops. König pulls out your underwear from his pocket and shoves it into your mouth. He grabs your arms and pulls them behind your back, pulling off his belt with one hand and tying your hands together.
When you try to kick him to get away, but he just climbs on you, resting his weight on you. “Where are you trying to go, Hase?” He growls.
Your screams are muffles as you try to squirm away from König.
“I saw your birth control pills.” He grabs a fist full of your hair and pulls your head back. “That is still my pussy. You are still mine.”
You shake your head no and try to break free from his grasp. His 6 ’10 280 lb body is just too big to fight back against.
König’s hands begin to travel along your mostly naked body. Your skin is just as soft as he remembers. His finger hooks your panties and moves it down. You buck backwards like a horse and try to kick him. A heavy hand comes down and spanks your ass cheek, you whimper.
“Stay still. I don’t want to have to hurt you.” König finishes pulling your underwear off completely before standing off of your body and getting undressed.
“It’s a shame you thought that you could get away from me. Bigger shame you decided to give away my body to another man. You know I don’t like that.” You can hear his pants drop to the floor finally.
König walks to your body and drags you to the center of the bed. He joins you on the bed, spreading your ass cheeks and pushing his face between them, taking a deep breath.
“That’s still my fucking pussy.” He grabs your ass and jiggles them before climbing over you, one leg on either side of your thighs.
His heavy cock slaps against your cheeks. He spits in his hand and rubs it around the tip of his cock, rubbing the tip along your folds. The feeling of his cock being pressed up against your entrance makes you squirm your hips, but that doesn’t stop König.
König spreads your ass cheeks with his hands so he can have a clear view of your pussy. He looks down at you and pushes himself into you. You tense up, only making yourself tighter for him. A loud moan leaves his lips as he buries his cock deep inside of your pussy.
He doesn’t allow you any time to adjust to his enormous dick as he slams his hips into you. You shake your body, trying your best to break free of his belt around your hands. Eventually you manage to spit your underwear out.
“Stop!” You cry out as you kick your legs as you writhe under him.
“Just take my cock.” He groans.
One of his hands comes down on your head and pushes your face into the pillow, holding you there as he picks up his pace. He rams his cock hard enough to cause pain, forcing the full length of his cock into your tight cunt. Your cries are muffled.
König yanks his head back and forces your head up. “What? You can’t handle my cock anymore?”
“Fuck you! Get off of me!”
“What? You don’t like my cock anymore?” He asks in a condescending tone.
“No!”
“Shut up.” He pulls his cock out of your pussy, grabbing you by your hair and dragging you to the edge of the bed.
König puts you on your back and slaps his cock on your lips, rubbing it back and forth. You try to turn your head but he grabs your jaw and forces you to stay still. The tip of his cock presses against your lips pressed tightly together.
“Open.” He lightly taps the side of your face.
Your mouth opens and König shoves himself inside. He forces his way into your throat, finger tracing the outline of his cock appearing. You gag, causing spit to come out of your mouth and on to your face. König keeps pressing in until his balls are resting on your face. Not being about to breathe, you kick and arch your body.
“Shhhh, calm down. You can take it.” He pushes even further.
König begins to rock his hips, fucking your throat. His heavy balls hitting your face over and over. This causes you to gag again and you throw up, turning your head to the side and vomiting on the floor. He laughs, “Are you going to be a good girl or should I keep going?”
“I’ll be good.” You pant with tears in your eyes.
“Gut.” König growls as he walks to the other side of the bed, joining you.
He lays behind you, lifting one of your legs and tells you to hold it. His hand covered in your spit handles his cock as he slips it into your pussy. Your gummy cunt welcomes him back. König grabs your face and turns your face to his.
“Whose pussy is this?”
“Mine.”
“Say it, Schatz.” His voice trembling as he bullies his cock deep inside of you.
You try to suppress the orgasmic feeling his cock gives you. As much as you like Finn, his cock is nothing compared to König’s. No matter how toxic König is, you can’t help but to miss him.
“Yours.” You moan out bashfully, hating yourself.
“What was that?” A grin crosses König’s lips.
“It’s yours!” You angrily moan.
“Fuck yes!” König rolls his body on top of yours, your leg pushed over as he grasps your hip and thigh. As he thrust into you, he pulls your back to meet his thrust.
Pitiful mewls freely leave your lips; a mixture of shame and euphoria consumes your whole body. You look back at him, your eyes meeting, as you see the same possessive glare in his eyes as he always has. Will you ever escape this man?

our little secret pt.v
Summary: Letters to you.
Word Count: 4.5k Warnings: swearing, mention of possible suicide (slight mention, nothing happens), mental instability, mental spiraling, religious talk (Southern Christianity) Pairing: Lorraine Day x Reader (Masterlist) A/N: this is like a little filler, just having fun trying out something different. Don't worry, there's still a giant chapter left! Also? When Lorraine signs the letters to you, she puts a little heart over the i <3
June 15th
I thought you said you’d always be waiting. But I come home to hear from your momma that you’re on a vacation with Roy? Why didn’t you tell me before I left? I would have given you a proper goodbye.
It’s probably a good idea, though. Roy could definitely use the break and I’m sure you can too. I know the past few weeks have been… rough. I’m sorry. I didn't know it was going to happen. But we can talk more about things when you get back. For now, make sure you have some fun, okay?
Your momma said y’all went out West. If you could write me back and let me know where, maybe I can meet up with you. We can have a proper vacation for once. Do y’all have any real plans, or are you just traveling? I’m sure either one will do the job. You always did want to get out of town for a bit.
Our shoot went well. Max and Bobby-Lynne asked about you the whole time. It doesn't sit right with me when they're constantly checking up on you. Maybe I'm just jealous. It's probably nothing compared to how you feel. At least they mean well, I suppose. They send you their love. Maxine sent… a little more than love, but I’m not telling you about that.
By the time you get this letter, it shouldn’t be too long before you’re back home. I’ll be here waiting for you, okay? Don’t forget to send me some postcards. And if you find anything cute, don't forget to buy it for me! I'll pay you back, I promise.
I'll see you soon.
Yours, Lorraine

June 29th
Having too much fun?
We all thought you'd both be home by now. The 4th is next week, you know. We never miss the 4th. Daddy said he would cook out this year. He's making your favourite and Beau and Huck got the good fireworks. We can take the truck out and watch the show, just you and me. RJ will be out so we can be free for a bit. That’ll be nice, right? A nice little break. So you better not miss it.
Speaking of, Beau isn’t too happy that you’re not home yet. He’s been doing a lot of pacing and mumbling a bunch of nonsense. I think he’s being a bit dramatic. He’s not happy that you left without letting him know. Said he could have told you a few places to go to be safe. I think he just misses you. We all do.
We haven’t been out to a shoot for a while. I’m glad. It hasn’t been the same since RJ proposed. Nothing has, really. Things just don’t feel the same. There’s guilt in everything I do now, I don’t know how to explain it. I just don’t feel comfortable with anything, even daily chores. Did you ever feel that guilt? The one that sits deep in your belly?
On a brighter note, Jimmy and Liz are back in town. They seem to be doing good. And no, they’re not pregnant, thank God. It’s a modern miracle. They had hoped to see you before the summer is over. Of course they will though, it’s not even July yet, the summer is still young. Besides, I know no vacation is more fun than hanging out with us, right? Even Roy would agree, I know it.
Momma is calling me to dinner now, so I’ll wrap it up. I’ll see you on the 4th, okay?
Yours, Lorraine

July 23rd
Hey darlin, I think it’s about time you came home. You’ve more than missed the 4th, and Lorraine ain’t too happy. It’s the first time you’ve missed a holiday, you know? It ain’t like you. I know this ain’t the happiest place for you right now, but your family is here. We’re all here.
Where’d you go anyhow? You and Roy are homebodies, y’all don’t know anybody out West. If you really wanted a vacation, you could’ve waited for us to get home. We would’ve taken you. I’m sure Lorraine would’ve been happy to go too. We could’ve had a double vacation, you know? Like we always talked about?
Huck and I won our competition the other day. Wish you had been there to cheer us on. We wiped the floor with everybody. Best team ropers in the South, just you wait. You’d best come home for the next one. I’d hate to get too popular for you to notice us, you know?
I’ll keep Lorraine calm and happy, but I really need you to get home, darlin. It’s a bit past time to be concerned. At the very least, send us a letter back. I can handle you being gone for so long if I know where you are. I know this isn’t a happy place, but we’re still worried about you. We can make it a better place again, I promise.
Just send me something back, okay? I’d appreciate it.
Love you, Beau

August 12th
Hon, I really think you need to come home. Lorraine and Beau are losing their minds. No one has heard from you or Roy since you left, and your parents don’t seem worried at all. Your momma seems the slightest bit concerned, but your daddy isn’t. Everyone is just acting weird, so you need to come home.
Jim and Liz left for seminary again last week. They were mighty upset they didn’t get to see you before they left. It’s been about since Christmas since y’all were together, right? They miss you both. Y’all are family. Maybe try to write him while y’all are gone, I’ll write his address at the bottom in case you don’t remember.
If I have to listen to Beau and Lorraine ask where you are one more time, I’m going to lose my mind. You know neither one of them knows how to be patient or think logically. They have a single bad thought and run with it. I need you here to help me calm them down, because you’re fine, just taking a break from everything.
No one blames you for taking a break. After everything… it’s the least you deserve. I’m not supposed to tell you this, but Lorraine asked the other night if this is her fault. I told her it wasn’t. We all know that girl loves you to the moon and back. And we all know you love her back. Things can be worked out, but you’ve got to come back home first, okay?
After all this, you had better be having the time of your life, darling. I’m going to assume as much since you’re not answering anybody. Hey, if you can’t write back, can you at least give us a number to try and call you at? Beau said he’d pay any long-distance charges, he just wants to make sure you’re okay.
He’s playing the part of a dutiful boyfriend, you know. Everyone thinks it’s romantic. I know he’s just worried about you, but it’s weird to hear everyone giving him their sympathies. Is this how you feel when everyone talks to Lorraine about RJ? Like you’re in second place in a race you hadn’t wanted to compete in? Because if so, then I think I understand you a bit. It’s… not a nice feeling.
Ah, I won’t get sentimental. We can talk more when you get home. I think I understand you a little better. That’s kinda sad, isn’t it? Took you leaving for me to get a better grip on your feelings? Well, just come home soon so we can talk. As I’ve made clear, Beau and Lorraine miss you. But I miss you too, darling. Enjoy your trip, but please come home soon safe and sound.
With love, Huck

October 9th
This ain’t funny anymore, you know. It ain’t funny, and you need to get home now. You can quit ignoring all our letters, we get it. You’re hurt, you’re upset, you wanna teach us a lesson or somethin. We get it, we understand, just come home.
Lorraine is losing her gotdamn mind, and quite frankly I am too. No one’s heard a peep from you or Roy. You didn’t even like the West, you had always said it was too different. Never liked how they did their food either. So why would you even go out that way anyway?
You’re probably out drinking those fancy beers they try to peddle up there. They’re not as good as ours and you know it. Or you’re out doing those stupid hikes that you never cared for, getting more blisters on your heels because you don’t even like walks. There’s nothing good out there and you need to come back.
You should’ve left us a note before you left. That ain’t like you, you know. You always let us know where you’re going. You couldn’t even go to church camp back in the day without leaving a personalised letter for each of us. But now you just up and leave in the middle of the night? No warning? That ain’t right and you know it.
People keep asking me where you are and I don’t have any more answers. I can only say “she’s on vacation” so many times before people realise it’s a lie. And it is, isn’t it? It’s a lie. You’re not on some damn vacation. If you ran off, just let me know. I’ll leave you alone as long as I know you’re safe.
Did we make you that miserable? Was being around us so awful that you had to leave? You could’ve told us first. We could’ve come up with a plan, something that wouldn’t hurt you so bad. I don’t know what we could’ve done, but we could’ve tried something. Anything at all.
I need you to answer my letters, honey. I really need you to let me know you’re safe.
Please be safe.
Love you, Beau

December 17th
You missed Halloween. And Thanksgiving. Are you going to miss Christmas too? And New Year's Eve? Am I going to have to jump into the new year without you? Please let me know if I am, because I need to be prepared. I’ve spent holiday after holiday waiting for you to come back, for you to spend it with me again. I get my hopes up every single time just for you to not be there.
RJ keeps asking me what’s wrong, and I’m honest with him. I miss you. I miss you so badly my chest aches. But he doesn’t understand. He thinks I just miss my best friend. And I do, you’ve always been my best friend. But you’re so much more than that, and I can’t explain it to him until you get back because I need someone to hold on to while you’re gone. When are you coming back?
Are you waiting for an apology? Because I’ll give you one, I’ll give you as many as you want. I’m sorry about RJ. I’m sorry about the proposal and that I didn’t say no. I’m sorry about Mr. Dylan, he never should’ve touched you. I’m sorry I didn’t say goodbye properly. I’m sorry I avoided you after the proposal, I was just scared and didn’t know what to do.
I’ll say sorry for anything you want or need. Just please answer me. Please come home. I don’t want anything else for Christmas, I don’t want any other miracle, I just want you. Please come home.
I miss you.
Yours, Lorraine

January 24th
We searched Roy’s room and found all his guns gone.
I’m done asking, darling, you need to call us or send us a letter. Now. Now, I don’t believe Roy would do anything to you, but your daddy is on a kick about how unstable he was. How he’s still sick from the devil and all that nonsense he would always preach. I know he wouldn’t touch a hair on your head, but I really need you to answer me.
Lorraine has been losing her patience with RJ. She yelled at him the other day just because he tried to hold her hand. Told him not to touch her. It was quite the show. And it’s going to get her in trouble. She needs you, you know? You’re not the only one who has to hide.
I’m sorry, but I went through your room. It’s been long enough, your momma practically gave me the go ahead. You didn’t take any of your letters from Lorraine. Did you mean to leave them? I hope you didn’t. I hope it was an accident, and you didn’t mean to leave us behind.
Beau has a letter for you too, but he’s not done with it. I don’t know how to help him. He’s got himself convinced he should’ve done more. I don’t know what he should have done. I don’t know what he could have done differently. Did you want him to propose? The three of us could’ve moved off somewhere, you know. We could’ve made it work if it’s what you wanted.
Everyone wants you home. They need you to come home. No one is complete without you, it’s like a big part of town is missing. Stevie from the bar finally pulled me aside and asked about you last weekend. I couldn’t even give him an answer. He said he’d pray for you. Said he’d keep a shot of the good stuff saved for when you get back.
Fuck it. I miss you too. You’re one of my very best friends, hon. You’re the one who’s been with me through everything. Hell, you introduced me to Beau. You’re the only one I can truly talk to about things. I need you home too, okay? You’re part of my home, so I need you to come back.
I need you to write back.
With love, Huck

You’re an absolute bastard. You know that? You’re a fuckin bastard. A vacation? Give me a fuckin break, you didn’t go on no gotdamn vacation. Where’d you go, huh? Somewhere we’d never find you? Did Roy convince you to leave? He probably did, the prick. Ain’t no way you would’ve left on your own, you’re not stupid.
What the hell were you thinkin? Just up and leavin like it ain’t nobody’s business. Well it’s my business. It’s my fucking business and you should’ve told me. You’re supposed to be my girlfriend. I don’t care that we’re pretendin, I still fuckin care about you and you just fuckin left? Did I mean that little to you?
We had a pretty great thing goin, you didn’t have to leave and ruin it. I don’t care that it was a lie, we were happy. I still had Huck, and you still had Lorraine, and we were happy. You didn’t have to pack your bags and leave like a thief in the night to, what, prove a point? Well I get it now, you weren’t as happy as I thought. You could’ve told me instead of doin all of this.
You’d better answer the gotdamn letter this time. I ain’t playin around anymore. You better answer the letter and get your ass home. And if Roy is readin this, then you better get her home. You’d better have kept your gotdamn hands and your guns away, and you better get her home. Now.

Hey, momma said I should try to send you something. She said you might answer me since I’m your baby brother. Are you and Roy okay? I don’t care what Pap says, I know y’all aren’t dumb, y’all didn’t go do something stupid. Roy probably just grabbed his guns to keep you safe. He’s not crazy.
Gramma came down with something nasty. The doctors think it’s pneumonia, but we’re still waiting for tests to come back. You both should probably get back just in case it’s bad. She misses you. She prays for you both twice a day. It’s really sweet, she just wants you both safe.
Seminary has been alright. Boring. You would’ve liked it more. Heck, you would’ve been better at it. No one knows the bible quite like you, I don’t care what Pap says. If any one of us should’ve gone off to study, it should’ve been you. Maybe once he sees how bad at it I am, he’ll change his mind. Think so? Probably not.
I’m waiting to propose to Liz until you both get back. I’ve got it all planned out and everything, even bought a ring. You’d like it, I think. But I can’t get married without my big siblings, right? Don’t worry, I can be patient. Y’all just get home safe and sound, you hear?
We love you. The both of you. We’ll see you soon.

Your Gramma passed away today. The funeral is in two weeks. That should be more than enough time for you to get back.
We’ll see you soon, love.

Your Gramma’s funeral was today. You weren’t there. Why weren’t you there? You meant the world to her. She meant the world to you. You were the one she wanted to see, and you weren’t even there to see her buried.
She would have wanted you to be here.
Yours, Lorraine

A police report came in that they found two bodies in the river a few hours away from here. The bodies are decomposed too much to make identifications. I swear to god, hon, it better not be you. I know things were hard. For the both of you. But you didn’t have to go and do that.
It better not be you.
With love, Huck

Your daddy practically declared you both dead at church this morning. I guess after almost a year, he’s tired of worrying about it. He was never a patient man. I don’t think anyone really believed him, but who’s going to argue with their preacher? No one in this town, that’s for sure. Momma and daddy said you’re probably fine, just got sick of your daddy. No one would blame you if that were the case.
After church, Mr. Dylan told your daddy you and Roy had tried to kill him the night you left. If that were true, I don’t know why he didn’t bring it up when everyone was asking where you were. Don’t know why he saved it for now, but he did. Said you had both tried to kill him in the church.
He told your daddy you were a queer. Said you were a queer and you were going to infect the town with your sin. Huck hit him. Square on the jaw, knocked him out cold. I had thought it would be Beau. I hope he gave Mr. Dylan a concussion.
Did he really find out? Because I didn’t tell anybody, I swear. We always kept things a secret. At least I think we did. No one was ever around that didn’t already know. I know none of my crew told, they wouldn’t dare. I promise I didn’t tell anyone.
Momma asked me this evening if you really were queer. I didn’t know what to say. I didn’t know what her reaction would be. She has always loved you, I didn’t want her to think any less of you because of what Mr. Dylan said. Daddy said we shouldn’t talk about it while you’re not here. Said it wasn’t right to talk behind your back. I don’t want them to hate you.
I won’t ever let them hate you.
Yours, Lorraine

June 1st
I hate you. Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, I hate you. I hate you, and I hate Roy, and I hate this fuckin town and everyone in it.
You were supposed to be here, gotdammit. You were supposed to be here, and we were all supposed to grow old together. What the fuck were you thinkin? Don’t you know how much you’ve hurt me? Don’t you understand? We might not have been in love, but that didn’t mean I didn’t love you. I loved you, and you went and broke my heart like this?
We were all supposed to be together, you know. No matter what, remember? I thought you were my Huckleberry. Well what are you now, huh? A coward. You’re a fuckin coward. What, times get hard so you leave? You just pack your shit and leave with your crazy fuckin brother?
What were we to you? Were we just a means to an end? Nothing more than a toy for you to play with? Cause you were never that to me. You were never anything less than my best friend, the only girl I ever loved. And you just fuckin left me. Was I not good enough for you?
If that’s how you feel, then good fuckin riddance. Stay away. We don’t want you back in this town anyway. Go stay with your new fuckin friends that won’t ever fuckin know you or care about you the way we do. No one is ever gonna understand you like we do.
Don’t even bother comin back.

I broke off the engagement today. It’s all just too much. I can’t even stand looking at him anymore. Every time he looks at me makes my skin crawl. I can’t even stand being in the same room with him anymore. Each time he touches me makes me feel like a piece of my soul dies.
Did I do this to you? Did I push you to leave? If I did, I’m sorry. I never wanted to hurt you. If I had been smarter, I would’ve suggested dating Huck instead. Then none of this ever would have happened. The four of us would’ve been together and no one would have ever known. We could’ve been happy.
Were you that unhappy? I never wanted you to hurt. All I ever wanted was you. Every time I had to fake a smile with RJ, or play nice, I always thought about you. I didn’t care about him, he was just a good distraction so no one would know about us. It was stupid. I never should’ve been afraid of how I felt.
I need you to come home. I need you to come home and tell me everything will be okay. Nothing feels the same without you. Foods don’t taste good, the sun isn’t as bright, nothing is fun. Most days I don’t even want to get out of bed anymore. I would rather rot away than go another day without you.
I’m sorry, okay? I’m sorry for everything. I’ll take everything back, I’ll tell the whole world that I love you. I’ll hold your hand at the store. I’ll sit in your lap at the bar, and pull you to dance with me. I’ll do whatever you want, whenever you want. I just want you back. I need you back.
I love you. You’re my home. I need you here with me.
Please come back to me.
Yours, Lorraine

The bonfire was hot against Lorraine’s skin. Far too hot. Combined with the sweltering summer heat, it was painful. She didn’t care. Painful at least felt like something. It felt like something real, something she could focus on. Almost as real as the pile of letters in her hands, all stamped with the same thing on the front in red.
Return to sender.
“I’m sorry,” Max said softly. Her hand was surprisingly cool against Lorraine’s upper arm.
On the other side of the fire, off in the distance, she could hear Beau yelling. Drunken, incoherent rambling that no one could really understand. Huck had given up on trying to console him. After all, how could he console him about something that they couldn’t fix? What would be the point?
Another beer bottle shattered against the hard ground.
You were supposed to come back. You were supposed to be there waiting for Lorraine when she got back from filming. Then you were both going to talk, and you were going to come up with a plan to get out of the engagement, and then everyone was going to be happy. Maybe you could’ve gone out East for real, like the four of you had always talked about.
The letters in her hand felt like lead.
“Do you want us to give you a minute?” Bobby-Lynne asked. She squeezed Lorraine’s shoulders. It was comforting. Grounding.
“No,” Lorraine said softly. “It wouldn’t matter anyway.”
The letters were the last connection she had to you. Your daddy had quickly emptied out yours and Roy’s rooms, labeling you both as sinners and traitors. She had been lucky enough to grab your hat before he had thrown everything out. It sat comfortably on her head right at that moment.
Her last remnants of you.
No tears came as she held the letters over the fire. The flames licked the skin of her damaged fingers. She knew, logically, it should have hurt. It didn’t. Maybe, if she kept her hand there long enough, you would appear and pull her back. You would scold her for doing something dangerous, and then you could both go to bed.
That’s all she wanted. She just wanted to go to bed.
Her fingers pried themselves away from the letters, and she watched them fall onto the bonfire. One by one they caught a spark, turning a dark brown and curling around the edges before igniting. She could see the different handwriting on each page. Beau, Huck, Jimmy. Her own. All filling the pages with their thoughts, their concerns, their feelings. Things they would never dare tell each other.
She watched the fire until the very last letter burned. Your name faded away into the orange flame. You faded away into nothing, and when your name was no longer legible, Lorraine felt her own heart go with it. There was a space shaped exactly like you within her chest. No one would ever fill it, and she didn’t want them to.
You were her heart and soul. Her home.
She would never find anyone else for as long as she lived. And then, she would find you in death.
She would find you in every lifetime. No matter how long it took.

FIRST i just wanna say im obsessed with your writing!!
second i wanted to ask for a mel x reader!! where they are at janines party (like the finale”. basically they have really big feelings for each other but neither of them (especially mel) wants to admit it. during the party reader and mel gets really drunk (like she did in the episode). some guy starts flirting with the reader and mel gets jealous and just grabs the reader and pulls her out of the party and kisses her, and takes the reader to her place. maybe leads to some smut!?? then they wake up the next morning and remember what they did, they admit they’ve had feelings for a while and maybe some softer smut at the end!!?💕
Hi anon! I’m so happy you love my writing! ❤️. I hope I wrote it to your liking with enough fluff and smut! Not edited in the slightest and I hope you like it!
On another note: I’ll either be working on the next prompt or the next chapter of worth it, I haven’t decided yet. It’s a Chessy prompt, which one would you like?
Drunk With Jealousy
Warnings: Smut, Fluff, Slight Angst
Words: 2.6k
“So are you going to Janine’s party?” You ask Melissa in the break room. It’s the last day of school today before summer break.
“Yep, are you?” She asks and you nod.
“I wouldn’t miss it, especially more now that I know you’re going to be there.” You tell her and you look at your food and miss the blush that forms on her cheeks.
Later that day you arrive at the party at 7:50. You wanted to be early since you could help Janine with last minute setups that always happen at parties.
“Hey y/n!” Janine exclaims
“Hey Janine!” You say. “I wanted to know if you needed help with last minute setups.” You tell her and you hear voices coming from her kitchen.
“No I don’t believe so. Barb and Melissa are already here if you want to go see them, or at least Melissa.” Janine says and you look at her confused. “We all know you have feelings for her.” She tells you and you sigh. You go to the kitchen and true enough, Barb and Melissa are there, talking about something.
“Hey guys.” You say and Melissa whips her head around to see you and she smiles.
“Hey y/n!” She says.
“Hello dear.” Barb says as Melissa looks at a loss for words. “I’m going to finish up the living room. Maybe y/n can help you out in here.” Barb says to Melissa with a wink, that you don’t see, and leaves.
You’ve had a crush on Melissa since you started there 2 years ago as a second grade teacher. She was in a serious relationship with Gary at the time so you didn’t say or do anything. Then they broke up about 6 months ago and you found out she started hooking up with the fire chief.
Melissa on the other hand was a bit different. When you first started she didn’t think much of you as you were new. She thought you were attractive but nothing more than that. It wasn’t until 6 months after you started that she started getting to know you. She started developing a crush on you close to when you were finishing your first year at Abbott. She didn’t act on it as she was still with Gary at the time. But when they broke up, Melissa thought about telling you how she felt but chickened out and started hooking up with the fire chief. She will neither confirm nor deny that she’s imagined you there instead of the fire chief, more than once.
“So what are you two doing here early?” You ask Melissa once Barb left.
“Helping to tidy up. You?”
“I was making sure she didn’t need any help with last minute preparations.” You tell her and she nods.
“I see. So are you planning to get drunk tonight?” She asks and you chuckle.
“I am yes. I took an Uber here and I’ll take one back home.” You tell her and she shakes her head. “Are you planning to get drunk tonight?”
“Maybe, we’ll see.” She says and then you hear a knock at the door.
10 minutes later people are filling the space and dancing and getting drunk. You started drinking about 5 minutes ago and you’re currently on the dance floor while Melissa is happily staring at you from the kitchen. She’s leaning against the doorframe, with a barely touched drink in hand while she’s watching you dance.
“Why don’t you go dance with her.” Barb says as she comes up beside Melissa.
“Why would I do that?”
“Because then you’d both have fun together.” Barb states like it’s obvious.
“I’d have fun but I bet she wouldn’t. She probably wouldn’t want to dance with someone my age.” Melissa says. Just then you look over to see Melissa and Barb at the kitchen entrance and Barb is motioning you over. Melissa downs her drink as she sees you coming over, stumbling a bit.
“Hey guys!!” You slur a little bit.
“Hello dear, how many drinks have you had?” Barb asks and you think for a second.
“2 or maybe 3.” You tell them and Melissa snorts.
“Here, lemme take your cup and get you a refill. I need another myself.” She says and takes your cup to get you another drink.
“Dear, you should invite Melissa to dance with you.” Barb says.
“I would love to, but I don’t know if she likes to dance.”
“I’m certain she’d love it if you invited her to dance with you.” She tells you and you smile at that. Just then Melissa returns with 2 cups full of alcohol and you take a sip before looking at her.
“What?” Melissa asks as she catches you staring.
“Wanna dance with me?” You ask her and she looks taken back.
“Uh, um, s-sure.” She stutters out and Barb pushes her a bit towards you when she doesn’t move. You grab her hand and lead her onto the dance floor. You get to a spot near the middle where you both have space to dance and you start dancing with her. Barb starts dancing near you guys at some point.
About 10 minutes later the power goes out and Melissa goes to refill your cups. When she comes back a couple minutes later, she sees you talking with another teacher and she grips the cups a bit tighter. She walks closer to you guys to hear what you’re talking about and she sees him touching your arm and laughing at whatever you said. She puts the plastic cups down at whatever is closest to her and makes a beeline for you. She’s had about 3 cups of alcohol at this point and she’s not in the right state of mind to think about anything clearly.
When she reaches you, she grabs your hand and pulls you away from the teacher. She brings you to the doorframe of Janine’s bedroom and kisses you with force. You kiss her back with just as much force and then the power comes back on. You both pull apart and look to see it back on and then Mr Johnson comes and stops in front of you.
“Hey Janine.” He says and looks past both of you. “I fixed the problem.” He says and you both turn to face the bedroom and see Janine and Gregory there looking shocked at you both. “Am I interrupting something?” He asks all 4 of you.
“No, come on y/n.” She says and grabs your hand.
“Where are we going?” You ask with a giggle.
“My place.” Is all she says and you let her lead you away. She calls an Uber and you make it back to her place in 10 minutes. As soon as you walk through the door, her lips are on yours again and she pushes you up against her door. She hoists you up and you wrap your legs around her waist and arms around her neck. She moves her mouth to your neck and begins sucking whatever spot she put her mouth on first. You put your hands in her ginger locks and gasp as she began sucking. You undo her blazer and take it off of her and roam your hands on the exposed skin. She then carries you to her bed and drops you on it then crawls on top of you. She grabs the hem of your dress then looks at you and you nod. She takes your dress off and you're left in your matching bra and underwear set.
You take her gold shirt off and roam your hands all over her back and tummy while she kisses you and cups your breasts over your bra. You moan into the kiss and she reaches behind you and unclips your bra then rips it off of you. She cups your now fully exposed breasts as she’s straddling your hips. She leans close to you as she starts playing with your nipples.
“You’re mine y/n. You’re not that other teacher’s, the one who was flirting with you, mine.” She says, voice dripping with jealousy. You buck your hips and moan as she’s playing with your nipples and the sound of her voice with so much jealousy is getting you excited. She takes her bra off and you open your eyes and see that magnificent sight. The sight of her ginger hair perfectly framing her face, her emerald eyes that are so captivating, her lips that are so kissable, her amazing breasts that you want to suck on, and her tummy that has so much skin to touch. She takes her leather pants off and she’s left in her underwear and socks.
“You’re so beautiful.” You blurt out and she smiles at you as she strokes your cheek.
“Thank you, and just so you know I’m gonna fuck you so good that you’ll forget about ever wanting to be with someone else.” She tells you and you quirk an eyebrow.
“What if I already do that?” You tell her and she gives you a smile then a passionate kiss. She then retrieves the strap on and goes back to the bed. She takes off her underwear and puts the strap on. She takes a nipple in her mouth and she begins sucking on it and licking it with her hot tongue and you buck your hips. She lines the strap with your entrance and inserts it slowly. You gasp out as you feel it start to fill you up and you want more, more of Melissa. She gets you to bend your knees when she’s all the way in and she starts to slowly pump in and out of you. She goes faster and faster until you’re moaning out her name. “Omg Melissa, please I need you.” You tell her and she has no idea what you’re asking for as she’s already fucking you.
“What do you need from me babygirl?” She asks and you moan.
“I need you closer to me.” You tell her and she smiles at you and brings her body down to lay on your body.
“Is that what you need from me babygirl? My body on yours.” She questions and you nod. You place your hands on her back and dig your nails into her skin and she moans as it feels good, like you’re trying to mark her so nobody else does. She keeps pumping in and out of you and she puts her hand to your clit and begins rubbing circles on it. You come not long after that but she doesn’t stop.
“Omg Me-Melissa.” You gasp out.
“I still need to come babygirl, I’m so close.” She tells you. She comes a few seconds later and you come right after her as she was still rubbing your clit.
She pulls out of you gently and removes the strap and lays down next to you. You both try and catch your breath as she gets you to cuddle her. You shimmy closer to her and lay your head on her chest and wrap an arm around her waist. You fall asleep on her and she watches you for a few seconds before she gives you a kiss on your head before falling asleep herself.
You wake up to her spooning you and you began freaking out a bit. You try to get out of her grasp and out of bed to change and leave but you slip and fall off the bed. Melissa bolts awake at the noise and crawls to the edge of the bed to find you on the ground.
“Ooowww.” You groan out.
“Are you ok? Did you get hurt at all?” She says as she helps hoist you up.
“I think just my ass… and my pride.” You tell her and she giggles. You then suddenly remember you’re completely naked and you go to get dressed.
“What are you doing?” She asks you as she watches you put your underwear on.
“I’m getting dressed, what does it look like I’m doing?” You tell her and she looks slightly upset.
“Why?”
“Well I’m not going to leave naked.” You tell her a bit annoyed.
“Why are you leaving? I mean, you- you don’t want to stay?” She asks you as you put your bra on and then look at her.
“Melissa, usually one night stands don’t stay.” You tell her and she’s looking at you confused.
“This was a one night stand?” She asks as you pick up your dress.
“Well we got drunk, and then we had sex. What would you call that?”
“I think you left out the part that I got jealous.” She tells you and you look at her confused.
“Jealous? Jealous about what?”
“The teacher who was flirting with you.”
“Why did you get jealous of that?”
“Because I like you.” She says and you drop your dress that you were holding.
“You-you like me?” You ask her and she nods. You walk towards her as she’s still in the bed. You cup her cheek and she leans into your touch and hums. “I like you too.” You tell her and she smiles softly at you.
“Really?” She asks and you smile and nod. She gets so excited that she grabs your waist and pulls you down onto the bed and you end sitting across her lap. She moves the hair out of your face and she kisses you. She gets you to lay on the bed and goes on top of you. She kisses your neck and unclips your bra. She trails down to your nipples while she takes your underwear off. She rubs your legs up and down to touch all over you.
You’re gasping and moaning underneath her and then she switches to the other nipple and you buck your hips. She inserts a finger in your entrance and you buck your hips.
“Oh, oh my god Melissa. I love you!” You scream out and she freezes the pumping.
“What did you say?” She asks and you look at her.
“I said I love you. And I do, I really do love you.” You say and she smiles at you.
“I love you too.” She tells you and kisses you before you can reply. She starts pumping in and out of you and you gasp into the kiss. She presses her thumb to your clit and brings her free hand to one of your nipples. The pleasure is quickly building and you feel yourself getting close to an orgasm.
“I’m so close, Melissa.” You tell her and you wrap your arms around her neck and pull her close to you.
“Come when you need to babygirl, I’ve got you.” She tells you and she goes faster.
You then gasp out as you come and she slows down before she pulls out.
Before she can react you stick your fingers in her and she gasps out as she falls forward. Her hands are next to your head as you pump in and out of her.
Oh, oh, y/n, yes! Don’t stop! Please!” She screams out and you pull her down to you and kiss her lips. She pulls back just a little bit and she’s breathing heavily in your ear as she’s close to coming. “Oh y/n, I’m about to…” She screams out as she comes. You pull out of her and she stays straddling your lap, trying to catch her breath. She strokes your cheek and she smiles at you. “I love you so much, babygirl.”
“I love you so much too.” You tell her and pull her down to kiss her.

Hi bestie, can i request how lewis would help you when you have insomnia? Mine is really a pain in the ass this week, could use a distraction
Night Owl | Lewis Hamilton
Pairing: Lewis Hamilton x Female Reader
Word Count: 1.3K
Warnings: None
A/N: Hello loves ! Apologies for the delay in writing requests…I fell really ill over the week and was so out of writing :( but I’m back. Thanks anon for requesting, I hope you enjoy. Requests are still open .xx
Another night that I found it hard to sleep. It was like this for over a week because of stress and anxiety. I don’t even have anything to stress about, it’s just how my mind works when my brains thinks I have so much to do and I won’t complete everything I want to do in time.
It wasn’t that big of a deal to sleep at early hours of the morning all alone because I didn’t have Lewis with me so I’d wake up late. However, now that Lewis is around, I feel the need to sleep and wake up at a normal time so that we could do more things together as a couple since I hardly see him anyway.
Once in a while I’ll experience an adrenaline rush in the middle of the night and I’m so full of energy, I could literally eat a whole meal, probably even host my own fake concert and I still wouldn’t be tired till around 4 or 5am.
I joined Lewis and his family for the start of the summer break before Lewis was off on his boys trip. I was over the moon to see Lewis after a whole 2 weeks. Doesn’t seem that long but felt like a lifetime for me.
We spent the day with the family catching up and playing with Kaiden and Willow. We played countless rounds of Uno and spent most of our time out in the sun. Watching Lewis with kids and spending time with him had me thinking about him leaving on his boys trip soon - anxiety trigger because the thought of us being apart again soon.
I swear I’m not selfish… we video call everyday and I physically see him every weekend or every second weekend, but with our schedules clashing I can’t even spend time with him when I’m free because I’m working. Race weekends also fly by so quickly, before you know it, it’s already Sunday and I’m on a flight back home whilst he takes a flight to another race.
I just would’ve wanted to spend some more time with him during this summer break and it could make up for the lost time.
I didn’t even realise I was daydreaming until Lewis snapped his fingers in front of me. “We’re at the hotel… you’ve been so quiet for the past 15 minutes. Is everything okay ?” He asked softly. “Oh yeah. Uhm everything is fine… don’t worry” I faked a smile and exited the car. He followed behind me back to our room, it was quite evident to Lewis that I wasn’t my usual self. When we reached our room, he grabbed me by my hand and pulled me flush against his chest. “Are you sure you’re okay ? You seem off. Is something bothering you ?” He raised a brow.
“I’m fine really” I gave him a soft smile then pecked his cheek. Just as I was about to leave his grasp, he held me tighter. “Babe I can literally tell when you’re lying. You pull that fake smile on me when something is bother you” he pointed out. I immediately felt embarrassed. “What ? No” I scoffed and giggled. “And you do that as well” he said as he crossed his arms over his chest.
“Okay well I’m not in the mood to discuss it right now, maybe later” I trailed as I pecked his lips and walked over to the bathroom. I had a shower and to my surprise, Lewis had fallen off to sleep. I on the other hand was full of energy, but might as well try to sleep.
I got into bed and cuddled up close to him. In hopes I would fall off to sleep, unfortunately I was too restless and ended up turning from side to side. I know he’s a light sleeper and I felt bad at the thought of him waking up because of me. A whole hour of trying to sleep and I gave up. I jumped out of bed and went to our lounge to watch something to pass some time. About half and hour into the movie, I got a shock when I felt a hand on my shoulder.
The movie I was watching had me in a depresso mode where I was bawling my eyes out. “Oh my- love are you okay ?” He asked concerned. “Oh my god. Babe you scared me” I screamed as I placed a hand on my heart. “Didn’t mean to scare you, if anything, you scared me… why did you leave me alone in bed ?” He pouted as he jumped over the couch to sit right next to me. “I can’t sleep” I sighed. “No worries, I can help” he smiled. “Lew it’s not one of those nights where I randomly can’t sleep, I have insomnia. It’s much harder to sleep when you’re an insomniac” I pouted and laid my head on his shoulder. “Well what’s keeping my girl up ? You didn’t tell me earlier, I wanna hear it from you now because I’m concerned” he said as he turned to look at me.
“Okay don’t take this the wrong way. My brain overthinks the smallest of things, when normally I couldn’t care. We’ll blame it on some chemical reaction on my brain, maybe lack of serotonin I think-“ he cut me off. “Babe. You’re rambling. Calm down. Deep breaths and tell me straight up how you’re feeling” he smiled as he cupped my face. “Look, you know how much I love you and it hurts me how little we see each other. My mind for some odd reason isn’t its normal self because all my mind thinks about is how little time we actually spend together …” I said embarrassed. “Look I’m all for you going on your boys trip, but I had to be honest with what’s on my mind” I gave him a soft smile.
“Aww baby you’re so cute. You want me all to yourself ?” He smirked and raised a brow. “Low-key yes, but no” I said as I then slapped my forehead in embarrassment. “I’m so sorry that sounds so dumb” I covered my whole face with my hands. “Darling, it’s nothing to be embarrassed about” he said as he pulled my hands away from my face and caressed my cheek with his thumb. “I’m just glad you’re honest with me. Sorry babe for hurting you, why didn’t you tell me sooner ?” He cooed. “I thought it was stupid and I was just being dumb” I shrugged.
“Never. Your feelings are valid, always. Consider me all yours for the rest of the summer” he smiled as he pulled me in for a short kiss. “Wait, what ? Lew no ! You can’t not go on your boys trip” I argued. “This is not a debate love” he grinned. “But Lew, you can’t not-“ “End of discussion. Let’s go” he cut me off as he stood up and carried me in his arms towards our bedroom.
“Now I definitely won’t sleep, you’re making me feel awful as if I’m holding you back which I’m really not. My mind is just racing at the thought of how quickly time is going and how we’re barely together, this has nothing to do with your mates by the way because I think they’re all amazing. My brain is just not braining these past few days” I pouted as he laid me in bed and jumped in to cuddle me closer to him.
“Babe just don’t worry about it, that’s the least of my concerns right now” he said as he nuzzled his face into my neck. “Lew !” I groaned. “You need to sleep and I’m doing my best to help put an end to your insomnia” he smiled into my neck as he snaked an arm around my waist. He placed soft kisses along my shoulders before turning me around in his grasp. “I really love you” he smiled. “I really love you too Lew Lew” I felt my cheeks flush as he pulled my face closer and connected our lips.
I felt so at ease in his embrace knowing he’s right with me after quite a while of being apart. I guess all I needed was a goodnight kiss.

Beach Day | Modern!Tommy Shelby x Reader
Request: no - but encouraged by @holacia3 with this ask
Pairing: Modern!Tommy Shelby x reader
Summary: (Y/N) manages to pull Tommy out of the office so that they can go on a trip. Once at their destination, they waste no time and have a much needed beach day. Or: Tommy forgets everything the second he sees (Y/N) wearing his shirt.
Warnings: language, some suggestive sentences
Word Count: 3332
A/N: this one’s probably going to flop, but I’m happy that I managed to finish it amidst the bout of writer’s block I’ve been experiencing. It was the other option on the poll I ran a few weeks ago. I haven’t got to take a trip to the beach this summer, so I decided to write about it instead. Enjoy! :)
A/N 2: this will be the last story posted in July … I’m going on a trip with my family next week and most likely won’t have any major time to write the other requests. I’m hoping that maybe I’ll be able to write and share some of the blurbs that I’ve got in my asks, but big stories have been halted until August.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!
Comment/Message me if you’d like to be tagged in future stories like this one!
"...and you can't argue with me because I've already packed your bags," (Y/N) ended her pitch in an assured tone, setting her confident gaze on her fiancé, who was sitting across from her...at his desk, of course.
Tommy opened his mouth to speak, but the door to the office opening stopped him. Both he and (Y/N) looked over to it to find Polly entering the room. "I'm going to need you to hand over your diary," she said, walking right over to the desk, extending her hand towards her nephew when she stopped in front of it.
"I'm guessing you got her in on this?" Tommy asked (Y/N), his eyebrows raised as he looked between both women.
"I did," (Y/N) nodded in an assured manner, a tight-lipped grin present on her face, "and you're not getting out of it."
"Everything's been handled. Go take a break, Thomas," Polly added, moving her fingers then to remind him that she was going to need his diary.
"So it's been settled then, eh?" he looked at (Y/N) again.
"It has been," she answered him, a victorious smile present on her face, "give her the diary, Tommy."
"If I must," he sighed dramatically as he picked it up from his desk and handed it over to his aunt, making a big deal over it. Inside he was glad that (Y/N) had planned this out...he'd been working tirelessly on the business' latest expansion and hardly had a moment to breathe, but yet he wasn't going to stop and take one for himself. (Y/N) realized that and took it upon herself to plan the forced holiday.
"You must," (Y/N) stayed stern on her point, although the smile she was wearing was full on her face now. Tommy took one more look at his fiancée and couldn't stop the smile from forming on his face. There was not a doubt in his mind that he was ready to relax with her.
——
By that time the next day, Tommy and (Y/N) found themselves checked into a private resort that sat right off of a beautiful beach.
After unpacking their luggage, Tommy made his way out to the living area of the suite they were staying in with the intention of checking in on how things were back at home. He was thankful that this resort had high-speed internet, because he couldn't stand to be disconnected for too long. The flight to the resort was already pushing the limits...nothing would connect in that damned airport.
It seemed as though (Y/N) had other ideas of what they should be doing next. She exited the bedroom the second he'd gotten comfortable on one of the couches. Taking one look at Tommy made her audibly sigh and drop her hand to hit against her thigh, the sound of it making him look up from the screen.
He immediately noted that she had changed. Her comfortable airport attire had been switched for a swimsuit and a loose, practically see through dress that she was using as a cover-up. A pair of sunglasses rested atop her head and flip-flops covered her feet. How she managed to get changed so fast completely perplexed him.
"You're back to thinking of work already?" she commented, a bit of an exasperated look filling her features.
"You know how I like to check on things," he stated, defending himself as he shrugged his shoulders slightly.
"I do know, but we're on holiday, Tommy," she pointed out.
"Yeah, but we just got here."
"Yeah...and I'm already ready to go down to the beach."
"I noticed that."
"Tommy..." (Y/N) sighed, a frown forming on her lips. She held her gaze on him for a moment, watching and waiting for him to say something, before continuing to speak when silence persisted. "I'm going to throw your bloody phone in the ocean if this is how this week's going to play out," she threatened him, her voice holding a more serious tone than it had before.
"Just let me do it now," he bargained with her, "I didn't know we were going to get into things so soon."
(Y/N) pursed her lips as she thought about his suggestion. She finally responded after letting silence hang in the air for a few moments, "fine. You can do it now, but please don't let it become a habit, ok? This was meant to take you away from work," she laid out her stipulations.
"Fair enough. I'll curb it for the rest of the week," he agreed to her counter-offer, nodding his head to seal the deal.
"Good," she nodded in response to his statement. A few beats of silence passed before she spoke again, "I'm going to go down to the pool and wait for you, ok?" she told him her plan.
"Ok," he agreed, watching her as she walked over to where he was sitting. "Look beautiful, baby," he couldn't resist giving her a compliment, his eyes running over her body.
"Thanks, Tommy," she smiled at him, her stomach filling with butterflies as she leaned down to press a kiss to his lips. "Don't be up here too long, hmm?" she mumbled against his lips after pulling away.
"I won't," he promised her, feeling her smile against his lips before they shared one more kiss. (Y/N) stood upright again, smiling and nodding at him once more before she moved back over the island that broke up the kitchen and living space.
"You know where to find me," she told him while making sure that her tote bag was filled with the essentials: beach towel, sun tan lotion, hotel room key, and, of course, her latest book. She looked over to him, watching as he nodded one last time, before she made her way to the door of the suite.
There weren't many people sitting by the pool, so (Y/N) was able to find an open lounge pretty quickly. She set her bag down next to the chair and then relaxed back against it. The ocean's waves could be heard from where she was, and the calming sound of them made her shut her eyes and take a deep breath. It was good to finally be able to take some time and actually relax.
As a senior member of the Shelby Company Ltd.'s marketing team, she was working just as much as Tommy was. Always coming up with new ways of advertising; always keeping up with the different avenues Tommy was taking the company down. It was tedious and time consuming, sure, but she wouldn't have it any other way...the job was how she met her fiancé, three years ago.
With both of their busy schedules, neither really had the time to take a moment and relax...until (Y/N) made a point to now. She was thankful for this trip, and she was sure that Tommy was, too.
Some time passed as she sat, relaxing on the pool lounge. She wasn't sure how long she'd been out there; she wasn't really keeping time as she switched between laying with her eyes closed and watching the other people meander about the pool area.
Luckily she was doing some people watching when Tommy came walking down the stairs and into the pool area of the resort. She spotted him as he was descending the steps, and immediately noticed that he'd changed into his beachwear. The white t-shirt and jeans he'd worn while traveling was now swapped for a pair of gray board shorts and a baby blue linen button down shirt. She couldn't help but stare at him as he walked across the area to get to where she was lounging.
"Ready to go down to the water?" he asked as he stopped in front of her lounge.
"I see you're finally finished with your work," (Y/N) commented, pulling her sunglasses down slightly to peer up at him.
He chuckled at her statement, shaking his head slightly as he looked out to the ocean, "yeah, and it's finished for the rest of the trip."
"If you say so," she brushed off the topic as she sat up on the lounge, collecting her bag and making sure that she had everything she'd come down with. "Let's go down to the beach," she said with a smile as she stood next to him. Tommy nodded his head before allowing her to lead the way to the gate that separated the pool area from the private beach that the resort offered.
The beach was beautiful. The sand was soft, and the breeze coming off of the waves made the hot rays of the sun not burn so bad. One of the perks of the resort having a private beach was the fact that there weren't many people inhabiting it.
(Y/N) and Tommy quickly found a spot to set their things down. (Y/N) made sure that the beach blanket Tommy had brought with him (because she'd forgotten it in the room) was laid out underneath one of the umbrellas the resort had set up. She set the bag down on it before kicking off her flip-flops and lifting the cover-up from her body.
"Let's go down to the water," she excitedly said, flashing a look in Tommy's direction before she took off towards the waves.
"You're not even gonna wait for me," he responded, moreso to himself than anyone, a smile forming on his face as he shook his head. He could easily tell how much she was already enjoying this holiday, and he was so thankful that she'd planned it for them. It took him a few moments to undo his button down and set it into the bag before he too kicked off his flip-flops and began walking down to the water.
He approached (Y/N), who was standing facing the waves, and wasted no time wrapping his arms around her midsection. His actions made her shriek at first, but she sunk into his embrace in seconds. "Isn't it beautiful?" she asked him, swaying slightly along with him.
"It is," he mused, resting the side of his head against hers as they looked out at the waves. "The water's not too cold either."
"It's not," she agreed, her hands coming up to sit on his forearms, "let's go in," she said then, tapping his arms to let him know she wanted to be released. He obliged, and she took his hand to lead him out deeper in the water.
They made their way out to where the water reached their waists, stopping there even though Tommy thought that they could go out a little bit further. (Y/N) protested his suggestion, telling him that 'things might eat us if we go any further'. Tommy listened to his fianceé's statement and stayed where they were. They spent a good amount of time in the water, switching from swimming around, to floating with the waves, to (Y/N)'s personal favorite: hanging onto Tommy like he was a tree and she was a koala.
At least an hour of them spending time in the water had to have passed before Tommy finally decided to start heading towards the shore. His movement, of course, didn't go unnoticed. "You're leaving me?" (Y/N) questioned after she saw him take a few steps backwards. She was enjoying herself in the water and had had no plans of leaving it any time soon.
"I think I'm ready to get out of the water," he answered with the obvious.
"We've not been in here long though," she pouted.
"I need to go sit for a minute, love. I'll be just up there," he told her, motioning to where their things were. (Y/N)'s pout didn't subside, but she nodded and allowed him to leave the waves.
She watched him walk up the beach and sit down on the blanket they'd laid out. Her eyes lingered for a few moments before she went back to floating on the waves.
It wasn't long before (Y/N) was exiting the water and walking up to where Tommy had made himself comfortable. It just wasn't the same wading in the waves alone. She wanted to spend as much time with Tommy as she possibly could. A sight - that she honestly wished she'd be surprised to see - was waiting for her at the blanket though.
"I thought you said you'd ditch the work while we're here?" she commented as she stopped in front of Tommy, who had his face buried in his smartphone as he tapped away at the screen.
Her voice made him quickly look up, a surprised expression forming on his face as he noticed she was right in front of him. "I was just checking a few things," he told her, holding his hands up in surrender, his now locked phone present in one of them.
"Mm-hmm," (Y/N) shook her head as she moved over to where the bag was sitting so that she could grab a towel and dry off, "you do know the ocean's right there, right? I could honestly take that phone and give it a good chuck," she stated, making sure her body was dry.
"You wouldn't," Tommy responded, a slight tone present in his voice, showing that he was testing the waters.
"I just might," she quipped back, a grin on her face as she dropped the towel back into the bag.
Before she could move to sit next to him, light blue fabric caught her eye. She instantly recognized it as the linen button down Tommy was previously wearing. She picked it up without a second thought, draping it over her shoulders and slipping her arms through the holes. It covered her swimsuit clad body immediately and she was grateful for the soft, cool fabric on her otherwise warm skin. She'd just finished rolling the sleeves up to her elbows when she finally felt Tommy's eyes on her.
Tommy had been watching her from the second she came back to the blanket. His phone was quickly forgotten as he watched her dry off and then grab the shirt from the bag. Sure, she had her own cover-up, but he was so damn happy that she'd chosen to slip his shirt on over her body. Something about her wearing his clothes just got him going. Just when he thought she couldn't get any more beautiful, she went ahead and did something like this. He couldn't help but let his eyes travel up and down her frame.
(Y/N)'s eyes finally found his when he found her face once more, and she couldn't stop the butterflies from fluttering in her stomach as she noticed the look he was giving her. She wanted to make a comment, but it died in her throat as she just about melted under his stare.
"C'mere," Tommy finally spoke, nodding his head to the side as a non-verbal addition to his statement. She grinned at him and happily followed his direction, moving over to where he was sitting.
He brought his knees up and opened his legs slightly, offering her the perfect spot to sit down in; one that she quickly fell into. She easily got comfortable sitting between his legs; her back rested against his chest. Tommy wasted no time in wrapping his arms around her, pulling her even closer to his body as he leant over and began pressing kisses to the side of her neck.
"Tommy, stop!" she exclaimed through her giggles, finally trying to squirm away from his lips as his actions quickly became ticklish. He listened to her and stopped his kisses, but he didn't dare loosen up the grip that he had on her.
It was easy for his hands to find their way onto her body, being that she'd left the shirt open, and he couldn't help but let them roam her figure. He took his time, feeling every curve as he nestled his face into her neck; breathing in the sweet smell of her skin mixed with the sunshine that had been kissing it since they exited the hotel room. (Y/N) had practically melted into his body, absolutely loving the feeling of his hands as they traced her skin.
She waited until his hands found their resting spot on the sides of her waist, his arms crossed over her stomach, to finally speak again: "I see that I've got your mind off of work now," she said with a grin, turning her head so that she could see his face out of the corner of her eye.
"Oh you most certainly have," he answered, a grin laced into his words, "look so fuckin' beautiful in my things...always, baby," he mumbled against the skin of her cheek before he kissed it.
The butterflies returned as she heard what he had to say, and she couldn't stop herself from turning in his arms even more so that she could press her lips to his in a much needed kiss. "Love you, Tommy," she mumbled against them, smiling as he kissed her again, this kiss holding more emotion than the last. "I can't wait for the rest of this week with you," she said once they'd finally pulled away from each other. She was now sitting with her body turned more towards him, so she was able to look at him head on. She couldn't stop her cheeks from heating up as she caught the look of total adoration in his eyes.
"If this is a preview of what's to come..." he trailed off, a grin forming on his face as his eyes danced over her figure once more, "I already know that this trip is going to be one that's hard to top."
His cheeky comment that was accompanied by a rather suggestive glance, made (Y/N) gasp, and she couldn't help but roll her eyes and shake her head as she tried to distract herself from how his words actually made her feel. Why did there have to be other people present on this beach?! She had to look towards the ocean for a few moments to re-center herself from the look that was making her wonder what they could get away with out here.
A few moments had passed before she felt the sharp snap of her swimsuit's strap against her skin. "Tommy!" she shrieked at the sensation, her eyes snapping back onto him to see that a smug grin was now present on his face. He tried, and failed, to feign innocence before his expression dissolved into a grin and chuckles. "I can't believe you," she shook her head, gently pressing on his shoulders for him to get the hint to lay back on the blanket.
She wasted no time in pressing her lips to his when he did lay down, and he made a mental note to do things such as that more often if this was going to be how she responded to it.
After sharing a flurry of kisses, (Y/N) rested her head against his chest, not caring about the shine of sweat that was present due to the heat of the sun that was engulfing them. She was thankful for the shade that their umbrella was providing.
Tommy wrapped his arms around the small of her back underneath the shirt of his that she was still wearing, effectively holding her close to him...like she was going to be moving any time soon. He closed his eyes and enjoyed the serenity that was surrounding them; not thinking about anything but the beautiful woman laying with him.
Like he'd said before: if this was a preview of how the week was going to go, this was most definitely going to be a tough trip to top.

It’s been 2 years since you first started dating Jack. It all started sophomore year when your English teacher decided to pair you two up for a project. You ended up growing a big crush on him and he asked you out.
It was the last day of sophomore year and you decided to stay after class to talk to her one last time before summer break. “So, why did you pair Jack and I up?” you asked out of pure curiosity.
“Well, Y/N, I knew Jack had a little thing for you,” she said with a grin on her face.
You giggled, your cheeks flushing red. “How?”
She clasped her hands together and leaned forward onto her desk. “Because teachers know their students, sweetie. Trust me, you’ll be together for a long time. I just know it.”
She was right, they do know their students and you two did stay together for a long time.
Now, it was senior year and your relationship was more than perfect. The one problem was that you’ve never once been to his house. It’s not that they didn’t trust you, it’s that they didn’t trust their son.
They believed he would lose his control and get you pregnant right under the roof of their home. A baby was far from what Jack wanted, for now at least. What they were right about was Jack wanting to hook up.
You guys have had sex already. Whether it be at your house, in his car, or just at parties. Not to mention how much of a dirty texter he was. He was a horny devil, and you loved it.
You were laying in bed finishing up your AP Dual Credit work when you heard your phone suddenly ring. You grabbed it and saw it was a call from Jack. Your smile grew wide as you answered the call. “Hey, baby!”
“Hey!” You could tell he was smiling through the sound of his voice. “I was just calling to let you know that my mom is chill with you staying over for dinner tomorrow night. Are you free?”
You gasped as the smile on your face grew incredibly wide. “Of course I’m free! What time?”
“Around 7, but I’ll pick you up, don’t worry,” he answered. The sound of care in his voice caused butterflies to swarm your stomach.
You nodded your head, “Perfect!” You listened to him laugh on the other line. “I’ve got some work to finish but I’ll see you tomorrow!”
“Okay, I love you,” he said.
“I love you too, baby. Bye!” You then hung up the phone and grabbed one of your pillows. You screamed out of excitement and started kicking your feet. You were finally going to have dinner with his parents!
You loved his mom, she was the sweetest person in the world. Jack did something to win over her trust and you were thankful for that.
You walked out of the front door and made your way out to his car which was pulled into your driveway. Your parents weren’t home, but they knew you were going out.
You got into the passenger side and looked over at him. “Hi,” you said. You were wearing a nice red dress and some nice sandals that you had stolen from your mom.
“Hey,” he replied before you two kissed briefly. “You look beautiful as always.”
You shut the car door and giggled, “Well, I need to dress and impress.” He nodded his head in response before pulling out of your house.
The closer you got to his house, the more anxious you got about the dinner. You didn’t have a specific reason, you only had a feeling of worry.
Jack stopped at a red light, looking over at you. He could read you like an open book which meant he could see how stressed you were. “Baby,” he spoke in a low voice and reached out for your hand, giving it a small squeeze. “They like you, you know this.”
You nodded your head. He wouldn’t lie to you, you knew this. “Yeah, I know. I’m just a little nervous,” you confessed, following it up with a nervous giggle.
“I get that,” he said. He then let go of your hand and began driving again when the light turned green. “But I'll be there next to you the whole time.” That made you feel a bit better. What were you so worked up over anyway?
You took a deep breath and got rid of all those nervous jitters. “Plus, I have a plan for us tonight which involves us in the basement.” He glanced over at you and winked. You knew exactly what that plan was just by the look in his eyes, and you weren’t opposed to it at all.
Dinner was good. His mom made cajun pasta which was absolutely divine. His younger brother, Luke, was there at the table with you guys at dinner, obviously playing as the annoying younger brother like usual. You’ve never thought he was annoying though, he was sweet. Jack thought the complete opposite though.
You offered to help Jack and Luke clean up the kitchen after dinner. “Now, you don’t have to do that, dear. You stay right there. You want more to drink?” His mother, Ellen, asked you.
You shook your head and looked over at Jack. “Actually, mom? Is it fine that Y/N and I head down to the basement? I want us to watch a movie.” He glanced down at you then up at his mom again.
She glanced down at you then up and Jack then at her husband then at Jack again. He had a completely innocent look on his face, which was impressive from a guy who just admitted to you an hour prior that he had a plan in that same basement.
After an intense stare down between him and his mom, she finally gave up. “Sure, honey. Netflix and stuff is set up down there,” she sighed.
He smiled widely, “Thanks, mom. I love you.” He looked over at you and winked before heading off to the kitchen to finish up cleaning the dishes with Luke. You giggled as you looked back ahead at his parents.
After a bit of his parents playing 20 questions about your academics and dream colleges, Jack came back to save you. “Alright, we’re heading down now.” He placed his hands on the back of your chair, pulling it out for you to get up.
“Alright,” she smiled before looking up at Jack with a stern expression. “Behave.”
“Yes, ma’am,” he chuckled a bit.
You got out of the chair and Jack led you to the basement. Jack let you enter the basement first, you gave him a smile in response. “So, are we really gonna watch a movie?” you asked when he shut the basement door, your eyebrows raised.
He scoffed, “God, no. We can have it on in the background so they don’t hear us.” He grabbed your hand and led you down to the basement area. It was huge and looked like an amazing hang out spot.
“This is nice!” you said, looking around at all the stuff the basement had to offer. There was a large TV with a really large couch facing it, a pool table, an air hockey table, and a mini fridge. “Do you throw parties down here or some shit like that?”
He laughed, “Luke uses it more than Quinn and I do, but pretty much.” He sat down on the couch and grabbed the remote. You sat next to him and waited for him to pull up Netflix. “What should we watch?” He put the word “watch” in quotes.
“Uh,” you hummed in though while looking at all the movies. “Put on like… a rom com or something?” You knew you weren’t going to be paying attention to the movie, but it just seemed the most fitting for whatever sexual thing that was about to happen.
He threw on a random rom com and turned it up a little bit. It was loud enough to mask our voices, not unless you two shouted… or moaned too loud.
He looked over at you and smirked, he glanced down at your lips before kissing you. Your eyes shut as your hands found their way onto the sides of his face. You fixed your position to where it was more comfortable.
His hands ventured down to your waist as he leaned back, making you lay on top of him. You shifted your position again, straddling on top of his lap. He kissed deeper, causing you to moan quietly.
When you finally pulled away, you gasped for air and looked down at him. The smirk never left his features and he looked extremely proud of himself for even managing to get you two down here.
“So,” you cooed. You had a coy expression wiped across your features. “What do you want to do with me?” You were intrigued with whatever plan he had rolled up his sleeve.
“How about I… go down at you? If you can stay quiet.” His words caused your cheeks to burn red and you nodded yes quickly.
You off of him and sat back down on the couch normally. He got off the couch and positioned himself on his knees right in front of you. You helped him pull off your panties and you rolled up the bottom half of your dress, helping him have better access before letting him take control of everything else.
He spread your legs open and wrapped his arms around your thighs, holding you in place. He dipped his tongue inside you, swirling it around before sucking gently on your clit. You were sensitive to the feel of his mouth, your head tilting back as you let out a quiet moan.
He flicked his tongue against your clit, causing the muscles in your thighs to jolt, his arms still able to hold you down.
He took long strokes with his tongue in between your folds until you started to feel yourself tightening. He took an extra slow lick before playing with your clit with his tongue once more.
As your legs continued to shake as the knot in your core grew stronger. “Jack,” you purred. “Go faster. Please!” The knot in your belly was getting tighter by the second.
Your heart rate was starting to pick up along with your sex drive. Your breaths became heavier and more hitched as pleasure pulsed through your body.
His tongue flicked once more, swirling around your swollen bead. His tongue worked its magic and he could tell how much it was satisfying you. You were going to cum any minute now.
He pulled his face out from between your legs and inserted his middle and ring fingers inside you. He pumped them in and out of you slowly, moving them in circles around your hole while his mouth went back to pleasing your clit.
Your breathing hitched and you arched your back, pressing your hips closer to his mouth as your hands dug into his hair. His lips were busy sucking you, and you felt like you were gonna die.
You tried to take deep breaths but your mind was focused only on his mouth sucking you off. “Please, fuck!” you begged. “Don’t stop.”
His fingers sped up a bit as his mouth kept working you off. You came undone with a moderately loud cry as your whole body shivered from the pleasure.
Your walls contracted around his fingers covering them in your juices. As your muscles relaxed, he pulled his fingers out of you and licked the taste of you off his lips. “Fuck, you taste so good,” he muttered before he came back up to kiss you on the lips.
You tasted the mix of his saliva and your fluid as you kissed him. You pulled away and tucked a couple strands of hair behind your ear. Suddenly, you got a wild idea.
“Now,” you said. “I want to reward you for being such a good boyfriend.” He looked like a dog hearing the word “treat”, his head tilted to the side while a wild eye expression spread across his features. “Take a seat.” You patted the spot next to you.
He sat down, oblivious to the idea in your head. You scooted closer to him and pulled back your hair into a ponytail. You unzipped his pants before pulling down his boxers just enough to reveal his dick.
His breath got caught in his throat at the sudden feeling of your hands on his dick. You lowered your mouth into Jack’s shaft, licking at his slit.
He let out a shaky breath as he shuddered. “Fuck,” he groaned, leaning his head back. Your tongue lapped around his tip before you took all of him in your mouth.
You alternated from sucking him off and licking the head of his penis for a few minutes. He was obviously enjoying it since he kept moving his hips off the couch in order to thrust into your mouth. His hand ran through your hair while you sucked him off.
“Y/n…” he groaned, watching your head bob as you continued to blow him. “Your mouth feels fucking amazing…” His praises kept you turned on as the desire of making him feel good was your main goal.
You were able to taste the precum off his tip before he finally came undone. “Shit, I’m gonna cum!” he groaned loudly before he shot a load in your mouth.
You pulled away from his dick after that, wiping the mix of drool and semen off your chin. It was too much for you to swallow so you found the closest tissue box and grabbed a couple tissues to spit into.
You looked back over to Jack while wiping the rest of his mess off your face. He was still sitting there panting, staring at you with a look of satisfaction swept onto his face. “God, you really know how to work that mouth of yours.”
You chuckled softly before looking back at the TV. You could tell he was done by the way he covered his dick with his boxers before zipping his pants back up. You were pretty exhausted yourself, so you grabbed your panties and slid them back on
“You wanna rewind the movie and actually watch it? It kinda looks good.” You sat back down next to him and scoot in close before placing your head on his shoulder.
He wrapped his arm around you, holding you even closer before answering. “Yeah, sure,” he said before he grabbed the remote and rewinded the movie all the a way to the beginning.
The rest of the night was spent with you and Jack cuddled up on the couch watching this rom com you had forgotten the name of before you eventually fell asleep.
His mother came down to check on you guys, seeing that it was just you and Jack on the couch with no funny business going on. She then crept back upstairs, leaving you two alone again.

Twisted Wonderland Boys x Gn! Reader Breakups
A/n: Hi!, We're back to brainrotting for a bit <3 Will not be writing Ace and Cater since I don't know much about both of them currently! Masterlist
Chapter Two: Savanaclaw
━━━━⊱⋆⊰━━━━
Sypnosis: Imagine how twisted Wonderland boys are as your ex-boyfriends? Who would cut ties first? or how they would break up with you due to unforeseen circumstances? what was the reason for their breakup, and how would they do it?
Heartslabyul:
Riddle: Breaks up with you first
♚ He breaks up with you first, not because of his mother’s decisions, no, it’s because he thinks that he’s not giving you enough time. He’s always in motion, filled with responsibilities, he didn’t know if he could even spend time with you anymore.
♚ At first, he was fine with it, thinking that, once summer break happens, he would get to spend time with you, however, he almost forgot that his mother is anticipating his arrival back home, and he felt apologetic for even telling you that he’ll have more time once summer started, a huge error on his part.
♚ He realized that his time with you started to get chipped slowly, more and more responsibilities awaited him after finishing his second year.
♚ He decided that you deserve a boyfriend who could give you the time he lacks, and you deserve to know about his plans. Inviting you out for the first (and last) time. He invites you out to eat at a nearby café. One that you frequented with him in the first stages of your relationship.
♚ He’d have a casual conversation with you first, before setting down the tea he ordered; mustering the courage he accumulated during the time he couldn’t talk to you.
♚ “We should break up” he stated, hands intertwining with each other as if he’s speaking in a housewarden meeting.
♚ “What?” your voice broke, almost breaking the glass you were drinking from as the hurt in your heart made his heart ache and making him want to backtrack his statement. Yet he continued forward.
♚ “I think you deserve better than my broken promises” his resolve was crumbling when your lips formed into a thin line, looking down as if you were admitting defeat made him frown further. “I’m sorry,” he adds, feeling as if cotton was stuck in his throat, what else could he say in this situation?
♚ “Maybe if we focused on our careers first-“He cut himself off, a bitter realization that he was starting to sound like his mother as he bit his lip, he couldn’t face you anymore, standing up he fixed his uniform, “I’ll give you some space.” He finishes, before grabbing his bag, “Riddle-“you tried to call out to him but he was out of the door in a split second.
♚ He was pathetic, how would he consider himself a man, leaving you there alone? He basically ruined your reputation.
♚ As an ex-boyfriend, he would avoid you at all costs, and even if he couldn’t he’ll cut his conversations short with you, he knows that you might hate him because of what he did, so he’s making sure that he respects your time for self-healing.
♚ Although he unconsciously seeks you, sometimes he would ask your friends, especially if they’re from Heartslabyul like Ace and Deuce if you found a new lover? Or were you preparing for something? Like a midterm exam or finals? Or were you planning on any new designs for Ramshackle?
♚ 7/10 ex-boyfriend, mainly because he cannot move on from you and will continue to keep tabs on you if you ever find another lover, he’ll get so upset and hurt by it, but realizing that he was at fault he swallows up all his bitterness and “tries” to accept it.
Trey: You break up first
☘︎ You didn’t really understand why you would break up with someone like Trey, he gave you everything, yet you ended a perfect relationship with him just like that.
☘︎ Which is normal, you lost feelings for Trey Clover, and you couldn’t see a future with him, maybe it was the fact that you felt like you two didn’t have the spark that you felt in the first stages of your relationship. There are endless possibilities of why you would break up with Trey Clover. But this simply was because of your loss of love for him.
☘︎ Trey would notice how you seemed to be further from him, or at least you were starting to distance yourself from him. He’d ask you if you wanted to come to go out on a date with him, but simply refused, he’ll respect that, but couldn’t help but wonder what has gotten you to start avoiding him out of nowhere?
☘︎ He would be patient at first, letting you have your alone time, and he’d do his own thing, having plenty of responsibilities that he could distract himself instead of worrying why you were ignoring him.
☘︎ Maybe you needed time? Did he do something wrong? Or was it the time Riddle got his attention due to almost collaring a few Heartslabyul students during your date inside NRC?
☘︎ He didn’t even realize that despite trying to avoid his thoughts, they were still there, so when you finally decided to speak to him after a few weeks of ignoring him, he was ecstatic.
☘︎ But that was short-lived when you told him that you wanted to end your relationship with him.
☘︎ His heart dropped when he heard that, but his face remained neutral, staring into your eyes, scanning for any jokes, this might be some cruel joke, right? He wanted to grab your shoulders, and ask you what happened and what did he do wrong? When did you start thinking about this? But all he could ask was
☘︎ “Why?” even muttering that made his throat constrict, he looked away, hand automatically going to his forehead as he felt like he was having a bad dream
☘︎ You told him that you simply lost interest, that you didn’t want to drag the relationship further, and that he deserves someone who could love him fully. He wanted to reject it, but he couldn’t, he didn’t have the heart to force you to reconsider when it’s obvious you’ve been thinking about this for so long.
☘︎ He’d accept it without a fuss, even to the point he gave you one last hug, a lingering one because he knew that it was the last time he gets to hold you like this as your boyfriend.
☘︎ “I hope you find someone who’ll treat you right” A painful farewell, but he knew that with time, he’ll try to heal.
☘︎ As an Ex-Boyfriend, he wouldn’t be the type to avoid you, he might stay friends with you even, in order to keep peace, he doesn’t like conflicts and starts thinking about the situation in a more positive way, that you two weren’t meant for each other and that you deserve someone much more compatible (although the thought of you being with someone else leaves a bitter taste in his mouth) If you avoid him however, he wouldn’t notice it, since he’s starting to get used not seeing you more often than normal.
☘︎ Whether you’d be bitter at the improvement or not, Trey is trying his best to put both your best interests at heart, you broke up with him, so he’s just trying to remain civilized with the situation!
☘︎ Overall 10/10. He is the best ex-boyfriend you can have, he doesn’t get hostile with you, maybe a little awkward but he doesn’t outright insult your name and ruin your reputation to other heartslabyul students.
Deuce: You break up first
♠️ Wouldn’t believe it at first, he’d try to ask you where he was lacking, was it because he wasn’t acting like an adult? Was he too childish? Dumb? Immature? He would try to stop you from leaving without telling him the reason, but he wouldn’t get too aggressive with it even of you truly wanted to leave him with no questions unanswered.
♠️ You’re Deuce’s first lover, so he can’t just let you go, he’s in denial that you even broke up with him, expect a few flowers, phone calls and chats from him which is encouraged by a few of his friends.
♠️ If you truly didn’t want him to chase you, please provide him with a reason why you even wanted to leave in the first place. He won’t argue with you for it, he just needed to know where he lacked that he pushed you to the point where you had to break up with him.
♠️ If it was something like losing the spark in the relationship, he wouldn’t understand it at first but would accept it.
♠️ Sometimes, his gaze would linger on you if you decided to stay friends with him instead of ghosting him. If you noticed he’d outright, try to reject it only to wither if you pushed even a little bit.
♠️ His response would be that he still really loves you, and hopes that you’d reconsider (no matter how many months to years it takes)
♠️ His mother would know about what happened but wouldn’t hate you for it, sometimes young love doesn’t work out, however, she does feel the want to scold you for creating such a mess of his son whenever he calls.
♠️ Always talking about you instead of himself, she understands that he truly does love you as first love, but she’s really hoping that you’d either take him back, or her son could finally move on, especially when there are many fishes in the sea, her son is not ugly after all!
♠️ As an Ex- Boyfriend, would rate him a 5/10, he’s sweet, caring, and a good boyfriend, but as your ex, he’s not the type to let go that easily, he would yearn for you, wish that you’ll take him back no matter what. So, unfortunately, he’s not good with staying far away from you when he craves your affection.

“Schat, it’s all okay.”
Max Verstpapen x Fem!Reader
Part Six
Max Corner
Summary: [Max and reader crossed the line in their 3 year friendship, resulting in 2 positive pregnancy test. And 1 baby on the way.]
Lando is somewhat forgiven- but before going out on track reader had a bad feeling- leaving Maxin a bad situation. Reader worries for him and makes a crazy choice to nurse him back to health.
Warnings: !!!CRASH!!! Injured Max, stressed reader, anxiety, a lot of swearing, soft max, Google translate, NO PROOF READ!!
Key: Y/N (Your name) Y/L/N (Your last name) Milo (Your baby’s name) Silverstone crash repeat somewhat.
Word count: 2,821
A/N: THE LONG AWAITED PART SIX!! I have been having terrible writers block, I write and then delete the whole thing… I also got Covid for the first time… and it really kicked my ass- so I’m back and hopefully better than ever hope you all enjoy ❤️ Sorry it’s short and crappy also 🥹
“Is Max still angry at me?…” sitting down next to me Lando sipped at his tea.
“I would say livid still.” Glancing over at Lando I then also took a sip of tea. “I’m also still very angry at you.”
“I don’t know how many times I have to apologise…”
Humming a silence grew between us both.
“At least you and Max didn’t have to do the reveal?” Smiling a little at me, I rolled my head to the side glaring at him.
“We didn’t want them knowing at all.”
“But-”
“We wanted it on our terms.”
“But-”
“And I wanted a stress free pregnancy but I doubt it’s ever going to be calm.”
“But-”
“will you stop saying but.”
“I have something to say.”
“What have you got to say?”
“You haven’t got to hide anymore… isn’t that a good thing?” Raising his eyebrows at me like he thought of a brilliant idea.
“I wouldn’t have had to hide anyways Lando. The whole world didn’t need to know he was Max’s, there’s a lot of pressure on him at the moment, with all the-” pausing I furrowed my brows feeling the aching sensation creeping up to my head.
“The um…” breathing in and out slowly I tried easing the pain, “You okay?” Worry was plastered on his face. “Want me to get Max?”
“I’m okay… just keep getting these horrible headaches…” sighing I rubbed my temple, Lando reaching over resting his hand on my shoulder in a comforting manner. “I’ll go get him, okay?”
“He might strangle you” breathing out a little laugh I rested my palm against my forehead like I was trying to hold it together.
“I’ll take the chance-” smiling he quickly got up running off- yelling Max along the way, I decided to make my way towards the red bull garage praying that moving around will console the pounding sensation.
But it wasn’t long before I was sitting down again, the need for Max growing quickly- to the point I was on the urge of tears.
Over the summer break, spending time with Max day in day out. I felt an attachment to him, or maybe Milo knew he was always around- and now? When he is not? I get extremely anxious- worried if his okay. Which then causes stress because of the worry, which then brings on these lovely headaches.
And weirdly enough as soon as I see Max everything wrong with me disappears, it’s like Milo knows max is there and everything’s going to be okay.
Sighing once again, I took a seat ontop of some Ferrari storage boxes, waving a hand infront of my face. I felt like I was overheating- exactly like when I returned home and see Max for the first time. I was hot- too hot.
“Hey Y/N- you okay?” Glancing up I see a very concerned looking Charles. “Oh yeah I’m fine-”
“You’re not your face is really red- here…” holding his bottle of water out he looked around him. “I just got it don’t worry-”
Humming I quickly took the water gulping nearly half of it down. “Thank you…”
“Want me to get Max?” I shook my head looking around. “It’s okay Lando is finding him.”
“Yeah… I better go look. I doubt Lando and Max together is a good idea.” Smiling a little at Charles, he then held his finger up before running off, coming back with a booklet and fanning it in front of my face.
“Y/N- what’s the matter?” Worry was plastered on Carlos face, now joining in with Charles and fanning me down with whatever he had in hand. “Just this pregnancy kicking my ass.” They both laughed quietly, Charles then quickly pulled his phone out.
“Want me to call for paramedics?” I shook my head knowing as soon as I see Max in view I’ll be a-ok.
“I’ll call Max.” Nodding my head an apologetic smile on my face. “I’m so sorry-”
Hushing me Carlos then started rubbing my back. “Don’t apologise. You’d do the same for us.”
Tilting my head at him with a small smile, he then rolled his eyes. “You know what I mean- if we were sick… not like if we got pregnant… if I was ill-” laughing a little I nodded my head “I get it Carlos. And you’re correct.”
After a few more minutes, I found now I was getting hotter by the moment, and my worry was through the roof- is Max okay? Why couldn’t they find him? Charles has tried his phone multiple times… Lando has been gone a while.
I looked down at my feet kicking them back and forth trying to distract my brain, both the Ferrari boys doing everything they can to soothe myself back from overdrive.
“Schat?” (Darling?) Looking up quickly, I see Max breathing heavily Lando two steps behind him,
“I told you-” Max was quick to hush Lando- falling to his knees in front of me “What’s the matter?” Furrowing his eyebrows, his eyes scanned over me looking for any visible injury’s- but apart from the flushed face and fidgeting fingers I looked somewhat okay.
“I just got one of them horrible headaches…” at the mention of my head he stood back up hands out and massaging my head, by then I was zoned out, like an instinct I rested my head against his abdomen closing my eyes.
“Thank you both.” Max looked between both Ferrari boys who only nodded their heads and patted him on the back- both making their way to their garage.
“What about me?- I come and got you…”
“Lan- I’m still pissed off the world knows Y/N is having my baby. Look at the stress it’s fucking causing.”
“I didn’t mean to! How many times have I got to apologise?”
“It’s not an apology that makes it better.”
“But I can’t do anything else to make it better.”
“Then don’t keep trying to-”
Leaning my head back I looked between them both. “Will you both shut up.”
I got up from the Ferrari ‘seating’ shoving Max’s hand away from my hip. “You both bickering every time we’re together is driving me insane.” Wincing at the pain shooting through me, I quickly reached up clasping the front of my head. “You need to-” glaring at Max I held a finger to my lips shushing him.
Looking over at Lando. “No Lando, at the moment you cant make it better- yes we are annoyed! We specifically asked for no social media- and you done exactly that.” Lando’s head ducked, glancing over at Max every so often. “And while I’m speaking to you right now- stop texting me every night asking me if Charles is Milos favourite- cause strangely enough I don’t know and at this point I don’t think Milo knows either.”
Turning my head around to Max the little smile falling from his face. “And you. What Lando done- yes it wasn’t fair, but you realise that twisting his arm every time you see him only brings more shit onto me, I get your angry but we can’t do anything about it now. He came and got you today when I was having a moment- clearly he was willing to risk an arm amputation for the well-being of your child.” Raising my eyebrows at Max I then moved around him before glancing between them both.
“I’m sick to death of the petty bickering… I’m sorry Lan okay? But you have got to understand how I’m feeling- that was our moment…” Nodding his head he leaned in kissing my temple. “I really am sorry… just for everything.” Waving him off I turned to Max once again.
“And Max. Answer your phone for the love of god- I know I shouldn’t rely on you to make me feel better- but unfortunately Milo does. It’s like he knows your away to long and wants to upset me for it.” smiling down at me he instantly turned to putty- pulling me into a tight embrace. “I’m sorry schat.” (Darling)
“Now both of you get to your garages and show Milo a good race.” Max took my hand in his and with slow pace moved us to the red bull garage. “Drive safe Lan- please.” Looking over my shoulder at him, he smiled happily.
-
“Max-” turning around he lifted his visor up looking at me. “You okay?” I paused judging what I was feeling before slowly nodding my head. “Just be careful…”
“I’m always careful.” The corners of his eyes creased as he moved closer to me adjusting his gloves. “I just- something feels off.” Looking around I tired ‘sensing out’ what was odd. “Milo?” He curled his hand brushing his knuckles over my belly making a small smile creep to my face. “No he is ok. Just-”
“Be careful” raising his eyebrows, his hand moved to the back of my head pulling me in and pressing a delicate kiss on top of my head. “Promise.” Taking his word I took a step away and allowing him to get out on track.
Maybe we have grown fairly close- but it’s all just for Milo’s sake.
-
Looking up at the sky frowning, I looked out across the pit wall and at Max.
Something still felt wrong… maybe a change in weather? Or the way that Max was very fidgety- like he had the same gut wrenching feeling about today’s race.
All I know is it sure as hell didn’t feel right.
Sighing I moved away from the wall heading back into pits, and by Max’s demand and engineer following close behind me making sure I was okay. I sure as hell wasn’t but I can’t stop an entire race because I have a bad feeling.
“You okay Y/N?” Nodding my head with a small smile, I then chucked on a headset looking up at the screens. Come on Max.
Zoned out I was barely paying attention but it wasn’t before long I was having to use the bathroom once again.
Sliding the headset back off I turned to the engineer who was getting their stuff ready. “I’m just going to the bathroom…” nodding they assisted me to the doors, and I ensured them they needed to be there for the race I wouldn’t be too long.
-
The race had already started by the time I waited around for the toilet and got back, however when I entered the Red Bull garage everyone was frantic. I stood well in the far back making sure I wasn’t in the way.
“Y/N! You okay?” Christian came rushing over with his hands outstretched. “I think so- what’s going on?” Brows furrowed I glanced around before looking up at the tv screen, Max wasn’t on the score board anymore… gulping I moved around past Horner, eyes glued to the screen.
And I waited, breath stuck in my throat. My stomach churning… to ease the sensation I placed my palm flat against it. Reassuring Milo in my eyes that his dad was okay.
That was before the replay showed, Max car collided with another’s wheel sending him doing 360 spins off the track- sucking in a breath I prayed that was it…
Then the car flipped.
And flipped.
Leaving him upside down in the gravel, not budging at all, and then the screen repeated it again this time in slow motion.
And again now zoomed in more on Max…
I could only sit there and think- I should’ve told him the battle wasn’t worth it… I should’ve told him a lot of unspoken words.
He wasn’t out the car yet, red flag being sent out and all the cars re entering pits…
My stomach just kept churning. Why haven’t they got him out yet?
A pair of hands rested on my shoulders, Christian consistently reassuring me he was going to be okay. But the words of encouragement fell on deaf ears.
He wasn’t okay- he wasn’t out the car.
“Has he spoken yet?” Turning around to Christian he looked over to the control panel gently pulling me over with him.
“Heard anything from Max?”
“Nothing yet.”
“Try him again.” Bringing my fingers to my lips I tried stopping them from quivering.
“Max? Need a confirmation mate that your okay…”
They looked over at me shaking their head, we was all worrying- yet they was hiding it a lot better…
Me? Tears were already on my cheeks- I knew something was off… and he knew it- I know he knew. I watched the small screens as the marshals were trying to tip the car back over- or at least get to Max somehow.
“Try him again.”
“Y/N-"
“Again.” Nodding his head Christian then took the headset trying it himself.
“Max, we got Y/N here mate. We all want to know you’re okay.” Holding his hands over the headset trying to block any noise.
Christians eyes shot up and he looked over at me nodding. My hand clasped over my chest, sighing gratefully. “You gave us quite the scare there-” laughing a little into the mic you could see it on Christian’s face the relief.
“Just stay still Max they’re gonna get you out okay?” I moved away from them walking back to the garage, now playing the waiting game.
They still had Max on screen, sliding a headset on I listened in hands clasped in a praying motion infront of me.
“I think I’ve done my collarbone…” his voice was rough- but it was Max and I silently thanked the heavens I was hearing him.
“Just stay still.”
“Fuck-” groaning again- it then cut off. And we all waited.
And waited.
And waited.
Until finally he was out, on a stretcher and sent straight off to medical. One of the team offered to take me there, and before I know it we was both rushing through the place to find him.
“Is Max okay?” The nurse nodded her head coming over to us both. “Slightly concussed, he was knocked out for a few minutes… and the pain in his collarbone is because he has fractured it. But other than that he should be okay.”
“How long does a collarbone take to recover?”
“About 4-6 weeks”
“What about racing?”
“Well he simply can’t race until his recovered.”
“Can I see him…?” Nodding her head she motioned towards the door. “His still a bit out of it, also the tablets might be kicking in now so he may not say much.” Smiling I thanked her before knocking the door gently.
“Max…” sliding through the door I looked over at him, and truthfully he looked tired. Exhausted in fact like he hasn’t slept in months.
“You look awful.” Scrunching my nose up, I sat down beside him. “I’d get out of here if I could.” Smiling I rolled my eyes at him. “I’m honestly fine. I don’t know why I’ve got to stay here any longer.”
“You are still concussed Max.” Leaning on the edge of the bed I looked up at him, chin resting on my hand.
“How you feeling though?” Sighing he rolled his head over looking at me. “Like I hit a brick wall truthfully.” Chuckling more to himself, but it only caused me to frown.
“You okay?” He reached his hand over brushing my arm. “You look tired…”
Humming he closed his eyes “I feel it.”
Then silence fell upon us, I was watching his chest rise and fall softly, he looked so peaceful… this only gave me flashbacks of the nights we shared. The aftermath we would lay in silence taking each other in, and each time I’d swear to never go back… and I always did because it’s Max.
A nurturing call always rang out with him, I felt to care for him always… and now? Even more. He needed looking after, I could look after him…
“Max?”
Humming in response, he brushed my arm again letting me know he was listening.
“You know that collarbones got to heal right…”
Humming again, sleep nearly taking over him, “are you going back home to recover?”
“Yeah.”
“Can I come with you?” My face felt warm as I looked over at his face, his eyes cracked open, a small smile creeping onto his face. “You want to look after me?”
“Just a little bit.”
“I guess you can tag along.” Scoffing I shoved his hand away. “Tag along huh?” Laughing with me we both fell silent again. “Get some rest Max.” Closing his eyes again he got comfortable. “I’m sorry for stressing you.”
Taking his hand in mine I brought it to my cheek, holding it close. “It wouldn’t be normal if you didn’t bring me worry.”
“I’ll try not to bring anymore I promise.”
“You can still bring a little fun, just not crashing your car next time huh.” My thumb brushed over his knuckles softly.
“Again I’ll try.”
“All I can ask.”

hiii, could you do evening walk with TASM! Peter. Maybe they’re neighbors and friends. Could you add some fluff, but no established relationship yet, but they have crushes on each other. They go for a walk at central park as the sun is setting and are just talking. Thank you!!!
Omg I’m so sorry I didn’t realize there was more to your request, so I hope you enjoy this anyway!! And I’d be happy to write something similar to your original request if you’d like to send another ask <3
2024 Summer Blurbs
As much as you loved summertime and all the wonderful things that came with it, like ice cream and vacations and breaks from learning, you weren’t the biggest fan of the heat. Sure, you loved warm weather and you craved the sunshine, but those days that tipped from warm to hot to blistering had you wishing for winter again. It was all you could do to pull yourself out of bed, prop open all your windows, and throw yourself on the couch with as many fans pointing to you as possible.
“Have you moved at all?” Peter asks, voice tinged with affection and a tad bit of disbelief, as he returns from a much needed grocery run, restocking on essentials like fruit and vegetables and ice cream and popsicles.
“I’ve melted into the couch cushions,” you respond dramatically, not even bothering to sit up to speak.
“This isn’t even the hottest day of the week,” he retorts, answering your groan with a laugh that rings through the apartment.
“Aunt May has air conditioning that actually works, we can go stay with her for a few days,” Peter carries on the conversation even as he works to put the groceries away, not once complaining about the fact that you haven’t moved from your perch to help, knowing just how miserable the heat makes you. It’s a kind gesture, and as beautiful as air conditioning sounds, the thought of getting up and packing your things and making the trip to May already has you sweating.
“Too much work, I’ll just lay here and melt,” you respond, Peter sighing fondly as he comes back from the kitchen.
You’re true to your word, staying on the couch with your army of fans working overtime to cool you down as the heat crests and peaks before gradually falling. The sun is starting to set by the time you stand up from longer than just going to the bathroom or grabbing something to eat.
“Wanna go for a walk now that it’s cooler than the surface of the sun?’ You ask, knowing that Peter has been dying to get out and do something. Even though he’s not as sensitive to the heat as you are, it was truly astronomically hot, and even Peter wouldn’t imagine spending more time than he had to outside.
Leaving your apartment for the first time all day, you’re met with a cool evening breeze and the rich hues of the sunset, painting everything in slight shades of orange and red and yellow, as if reflecting the absurd heat of the day.
“This is the weather I want,” you declare, your joined hands swinging in between you and Peter as you begin your walk, the evening still plenty warm but you didn’t start sweating as soon as you stepped outside, and the breeze is perfect at keeping everything warm but not miserable.
“It’s supposed to cool down starting on Friday,” Peter says hopefully, choosing to trust in the meteorologists and focus on just making it through what should be the hottest week of the year. Even though he enjoys the heat, it’s borderline dangerous to spend any time outside, so he hopes for both of your sakes, and the sake of all your summer plans, that the heat dies day soon.
“We should get another fan,” you retort, the thought of having to wait until Friday to get some relief from the insane heat filling you with dread already. And, even though Peter laughs, you stop and buy two more fans on your way home.

♡ august | steve harrington x reader (summer fling) (record player series #3) word count - 1.9k
author's note: sorry for the delay in finishing out this little project. back to writing I go!
August.
The air between you and Steve is bittersweet; all at once, your heart is heavy with sadness, yet peaceful and warm sitting beside him. You lean into Steve, your body crumpling against the strength of his arm that is placed around you. With ease, he lifts his hand up, his palm grazing the back of your head in a gentle, comforting stroke. You look forward, the rough sea stretching out for miles in front of you; you dig your feet into the sand, the gritty, cool feeling overwhelming your toes.
“I can come back,” Steve says, sensing the dissatisfaction that radiates off of you. “Maybe over winter break, and we can write letters to each other in the meantime.” Steve searches for anything to say, anything within him to make you happy, to put the smile he loves so much back on your face.
At the mere suggestion of having to wait several months just to catch a glimpse of him again, to write letters to pass the time and close the distance between you, makes tears begin to collect in your eyes. You make a poor attempt to sniff them away quietly. “I’ll miss you too much,” you say, your voice cracking.
You and Steve had been tied to the hip since the beginning of the summer. It had been fate that you two met, just two people in a crowd on the beach. Steve had been on vacation with his parents, a tourist in the little beachside community you call home. It’s nothing new to you to see visitors that catch your eye, only to stay for a few days or weeks and then return back to their own home. For that exact reason, you made sure you would never become intertwined with a tourist, someone who will leave in a matter of time. But Steve was different.
End of May. It had been a warm summer evening, the sun setting minutes before. Nonetheless, the boardwalk was crowded, the action showing no signs of slowing down. Though the ocean was only a few feet away, the scent of the saltwater thickening the air, there was a dense smell of cotton candy, the distinct scent of boardwalk food that could only make your mouth water.
Minutes before you had said farewell to your friends, separating for the first time that day. You and a group of your friends spent the day on the beach, letting the sun drench your skin and tan it just right. Now, however, you were tired, your eyes threatening to close on you as you made your way through the crowded street.
Your bag that was looped over your shoulder weighed down heavily, your towel spilling out the top of the bag. You sighed pathetically, shrugging your bag back up onto your sunburnt shoulder; you wince from the friction between your skin and the handle of your bag. You look down at the ground, getting peaks of peoples bare feet and shoes shuffling passed you in all different directions. You’re so caught up in your thoughts, caught up in the way your body is exhausted, that you don’t notice a brown-haired boy coming your direction.
In an instant, you’re tossed to the side, landing with a thud on the ground. Your sandals, beach towel, and sunscreen scramble out of your bag and onto the sidewalk, each object getting kicked into different directions by people who are too oblivious to notice you sail to the ground.
“Holy shit-“ a voice says somewhere above you, though you’re too caught up in the sharp feeling coming from your knee to see who curses in your direction. Drips of blood dribble from your knee and you sigh once more. “I am so sorry, I wasn’t looking.”
You wipe the blood from your knee with the heel of your hand, shaking your head without looking up. “It’s fine, I’m fine.” It’s only when the boy kneels in front of you do you look at him, catching sight of his big, brown eyes and his messy brown hair, laced with salt from the ocean. His skin is lightly tanned, the smell of sunshine and sunscreen radiating off of him.
He shakes his head. “And you’re bleeding. Let me at least help you find a Band-Aid.” You’re exhausted, annoyed, and now in slight pain, and you relinquish control over the situation and let the nameless boy help you up by his outstretched hand. You reach out, his hand clasping around yours. You’re pulled back onto your feet, and you make an attempt to brush off debris from your clothes. You mutter a soft ‘thanks’ and begin to finish crossing the street, the boy trailing a few steps behind you.
Replaying the fall in your mind as you walk, the light heat from embarrassment creeps across your cheeks. There’s a light sting coming from your knee, and you wonder where you’ll find a band-aid. Your eyes graze the front of the shops that line the beach, all filled with people buying food or sweatshirts with the name of the beach branded across the chest. You sigh softly to yourself, glancing at the stream of blood that dribbles down your shin.
“Here,” you hear a voice say beside you, and you turn to see it’s the same boy. He’s holding a white slip of paper, clearly a band-aid. “Let me help,” he says before you can object. He kneels in front of you, peeling back the paper and placing the band-aid on your split skin. In the process, he wipes the blood with a paper towel he holds in his other hand.
“Where’d you find a band-aid?” You ask, trying to break the silence.
He stands up, shrugging. “I just asked the lady behind the counter. I’m Steve by the way.”
You offer a small smile, his kind gesture beginning to make your hostility slip away. You look up from looking at your knee to look at his face again. “I’m y/n.”
At the time, you never thought at how heartbreaking a summer romance could be. In every novel you’ve read, it’s warm and soothing, something you crave for yourself – someone to see and understand you so deeply, even if it’s temporary. Now that you’ve experienced this, you know the books make it seem like something it’s not.
After Steve put the band-aid on you, you didn’t say thank you and continue on with your night. You stood there, as if your feet were glued to the sidewalk. You held Steve’s eye-contact, the world around you seeming like it slowed to a halt. You didn’t even notice people had to maneuver around you as they walked along the boardwalk. You were in a trance, immediately smitten by Steve.
“Are you visiting?” Steve asks.
You shake your head. “No, I live here. Are you?”
Steve nods, running a hand through his hair. “Yes, but for the whole summer. My grandmother has a house here.”
You nod slowly, knowing there was no chance a good-looking guy like Steve would live in your town. “Nice.”
Steve chews on his bottom lip, thinking of something else to say. Little do you know, Steve’s heart thumps rapidly against his chest, being in your presence proving to be intimidating. He thinks you’re the prettiest girl he’s ever seen, his eyes glued to your face and body. “Yeah, I don’t really know anybody here though.”
You shrug, trying to be nonchalant. “It’s easy to make friends.”
“Would you want to be friends then?” As Steve says this, he realizes how juvenile it sounds and he knows he’ll beat himself up for saying that later.
You laugh, folding your arms across your chest. “Sure, I’ll be your friend.”
From there, you and Steve were inseparable. It was a slow burn at first, the tension between you growing over time. You both knew it was there, but who was going to acknowledge it first was the question.
You and Steve spent nearly every day together, meeting up at the beach, the pier, and eventually, at each other’s houses. It was easy to spend time with Steve, his charisma and sense of humor keeping you on the tip of your toes, his kindness, and flirtatious ways roping you in further and further. You found yourself laying on your bed into the early morning, replaying the time spent with Steve over in your head. Despite enjoying your time with Steve, you dreaded every day that passed by, an internal countdown clock until the end of summer and when Steve would return to Indiana playing in the back of your mind.
Months into hanging out with Steve, you sit on the edge of the pier, feet dangling off the side, arms placed behind you to prop you up. It was July 4th, and you had managed to find the best spot to watch the fireworks. When Steve had sat down, he made sure to sit close beside you, leaving your thighs and swinging feet to brush against each other. You chat with each other, waiting for the firework show to start. You both jolt, laughing softly, when the fireworks begin out of nowhere. While the fireworks were bright and beautiful, Steve couldn’t help but watch you instead. He watches as the colored fireworks reflect of your face, your face watching intently, a small smile decorating your face. His stomach twists with anticipation.
You look over to your right, seeing Steve’s eyes trained on you. You smile, a little laughing escaping your lips. “What?”
It’s then that Steve leans forward, his large hand cupping the side of your face. His lips are warm and soft, entangling with yours. You lean forward too, letting your mouth move against his. You sigh happily, all your dreams coming true. His lips taste lightly of red wine, knowing he must have had some over dinner with his parents. Though the fireworks echo off the ocean, the world is silent to you.
Thinking about this moment now, nearly two months later when Steve is leaving for Indiana the next day, your heart aches. Where had the time gone?
Standing on the beach with Steve, tears in your eyes, your heart pangs with sadness. You glance up at Steve. He breaks his glance at the beach to look down at you. He offers you a small, half-smile, letting his fingertips guide strands of your hair away from your face. He pulls you into his chest, wrapping his strong arms around you. “In the beginning,” Steve begins to say, resting his chin softly on your head. “I thought you weren’t mine to lose, that this was just for the summer. But now, saying good-bye to you feels like the greatest loss.”
You clench your jaw, wishing all your emotions away. You can’t think of anything to say.
“-But I want to make this work. When you think about it, Indiana isn’t that far away. Throw some weekends trips in there, winter break will come in no time, and I can be here for a month.” You smile thinking about that, but it seems so far away.
Steve notices your mind drifting away. He turns towards you, loosening his arms around you to cup your face between your hands. “Hey,” Steve says, leaning his forehead onto yours. The tip of his nose brushes yours, your eyes staring into his. “We will make this work, okay?”
You hesitate, and Steve wiggles you. “Okay?” he repeats. You can't help but smile at Steve showcasing his commitment, the feeling of anticipation of missing someone you've spent everyday with for the last few months and hope for the future beginning to fill you up.
You laugh, nodding. “Okay.”

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to @thequeenofspace! I was your @mlsecretsanta for 2024 and I had a blast working on a little DJWiFi fic for you. I hope you enjoy!

The living room is dark and empty. Though Alya’s family has gone to bed, Alya is wide awake, as usual. She sits on the small patio balcony, computer perched on her lap and keyboard clicking softly beneath her fingers.
Summer has finally crept in, and Alya has decided she likes Paris summers, when the air is warm and clings to her skin like a sopping towel. It reminds her of home. She’s a bit cool in her thin camisole and pajama shorts, but if she was dressed in anything more, it would break the illusion.
She rests her laptop on the patio table and pauses her writing to reach for a candle labeled driftwood & sea salt. The wick is still white and slick with wax, unlit because Alya is afraid to burn through the candle, to lose this scent and this memory.
While Alya has some notes on how the candle’s sage oils aren’t quite the aroma of ocean water that she craves, this is the closest she has come to smelling the salty ocean air in the last year. She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath, wishing that sage were more like driftwood, wishing that Paris’s summers were thicker, wishing that home could always feel like home, wherever she is.
When she opens her eyes, a pair of feet dangle above her, clad in black leather and tipped with thin silver bands, curved like a pair of cat’s claws. She only just manages to shove aside the candle as the rest of the black cat superhero drops onto her balcony. To his credit, he looks as startled to see her as she is to see him.
Chat d’Ombre’s hood is low over his face, the goggles over his eyes are tinted green, and despite the loose shape of the hood over his head, the rest of his outfit is tight and trim, with thin green stripes that follow his figure from shoulder to toe.
“Sorry—” he says, and instantly backs away until he hits the railing that walls in the small patio. “I was just out patrolling—Didn’t realize you were out here—I was only—Just on my way—”
“You don’t have to go,” Alya says before she can quite stop herself. She tugs on the gold studs in her ears and, on an impulse she knows she shouldn’t follow, asks, “Where’s your partner?”
“I’m on my own tonight,” he says. “I—the power for the fan in my place went out, so I thought I’d get some fresh air.”
Alya laughs. “This weather is too much for you?”
“It’s <i>hot</i>,” he complains.
“Maybe I’ll update my blog tonight: ‘Paris’s beloved cat superhero’s greatest weakness—humidity.’”
He sticks his tongue out at her, and she sticks hers right back out at him, but the surprise and discomfort have vanished. He perches on the railing of her balcony like its the most comfortable place in the world.
“You don’t normally write about Scarabella and me,” he says, and tips his head to one side, like a cat examining a fish in a bowl.
Alya’s cheeks grow hot, and she wonders if maybe summer is too warm after all. “Well—plenty of other people do. And I sometimes will—you know—report on what they report on. It’s… <i>interesting</i> how they report on us—I mean—our heroes.” She coughs and hopes he doesn’t catch her near slip. “I didn’t know you read my blog.”
Her blog started as a way to chronicle her family’s move from one side of the world to the other. Then it became a way for her to adjust to Paris and invest in it. When she’s not reframing personal anecdotes into insightful narratives, she’s calling for action on Mylène’s latest project or critiquing Mayor Bourgeois’s latest mandates. Nino had once suggested she write about Paris’s heroes, had even suggested the name “The Bella Blog,” but she tries not to write about Scarabella and Chat d’Ombre—she’s too worried she might give herself away.
Chat d’Ombre shrugs. “I really like the way you write about home. And Paris. And the way it, you know, is and isn’t home.”
“Is Paris home for you?” she asks, though she immediately bites her tongue. “Sorry—I suppose you’re not supposed to share identity details with civilians, right?” But that lie tastes even worse that the dread from her question. She’s the one who has insisted on secrecy between them, for the sake of Paris. Personal details about her partner’s home aren’t allowed.
Chat d’Ombre shrugs and slides down from her railing. He stretches his arms over his head, and his back arches like a cat kneading its claws into the carpet. He even flexes his fingers like he’s attempting to make biscuits out of the humid night air.
“Paris wasn’t always home,” he says, which is gratefully vague enough that she has no new clues to who he is. “I mean, I’ve always lived here,” he says, “but it didn’t always feel like home. It does now, though.” He reaches for one of the iron patio chairs and pulls it closer. He slumps into it, legs straddling the back with his chin resting on the metal curls with their flaking white paint. The light glints off of the green glass guarding his eyes, and Alya wonders, not for the first time, what it would be like to lift those goggles from his eyes, to truly see the boy who would be waiting behind them.
“Do you think that has to do with being a superhero?”
He frowns, as if he hadn’t considered this yet. “Maybe. I think it has more to do with the friends I’ve made.”
Heat pricks on the back of Alya’s neck. “Friends like Scarabella?”
He folds his arms under his chin and sinks his head into the crook of his elbow like a cat settling in for a nap. “She’s a good friend, yeah.”
She rests her elbow on the table and leans into her hand, tipping her head to meet the angle of his eyes. “Just your friend.”
“Oh, sure. We keep it profesh. Besides, I’ve had my eyes on another girl for a while.”
Alya’s heart twitches and she has to swallow down the sudden ache. “‘A while’? You haven’t told her?”
“I don’t think she notices me.”
“You’re literally a superhero. How could she not notice you?”
He smiles wryly. “That’s the thing, isn’t it? I can’t tell her who I am. And how am I supposed to get her to notice who I really am if all she sees is… this.”
“What do you want her to see?”
“I hope she thinks I’m funny. I hope she thinks I’m loyal. Trustworthy, dependable. Caring, cool, confident… even if I don’t feel confident.”
As he says it, she is suddenly aware of the way the clawed tips of his gloves tap anxiously against the back of the chair. He’s nervous—she makes him nervous.
“Do you want me to post a personal ad for you on my blog? ‘Caring, cool, confident guy who can’t reveal his name, seeking…?’”
He laughs, a single silly snort in a burst of humor. But then it settles into something soft. She’s familiar with the teasing arch of his eyebrow and she braces herself for a stupid pun, but instead he says something surprisingly genuine:
“Seeking someone thoughtful, insightful. Someone who sees the world as it is and presents it honestly, but is still optimistic about what it could become.”
Alya responds by blowing a fat raspberry into her palm. “That could be anyone.”
“No, it’s not anyone.”
The chair tips forward under his weight. Alya’s heart pounds in her chest, but she leans forward, too.
“The thing is, though,” he says, voice low, “if I tell her how I feel right now, I can’t tell her as me.”
“Then don’t tell her anything,” Alya murmurs, and closes the distance between them.
As his lips press against hers, all she can think is that this is what home is supposed to feel like. It’s steady, supportive, and genuine. It’s about trust and commitment. This is her partner, and she wants him to be her partner in everything.
And if she trusts him with her life every time she dons a magical disguise, why shouldn’t she trust him with her identity beneath that disguise?
He presses back against her, but as he presses too far, the chair slips out from under him and goes crashing to the floor. He goes with it, and so does she, laughing as she falls on top of him.
He winces and rubs his shoulder where he hit the ground. Alya sits up, enough to allow him room to sit beside her. His hood slides off of his head, revealing closely shorn curls and Alya reaches out to brush her fingers against them.
“Does it break the romantic alluring mystery?” he asks with a wry smile.
“I like it.”
“You know this means this is all we get, right? No dates, no holding hands along the riverbank, just… late night balcony visits.”
Alya purses her lips. “It doesn’t have to be.”
“I can’t tell you who I am. Scarabella would murder me and then fire me.”
“Oh, I didn’t realize she was your boss.”
“I mean, she’s not, but she is sort of the one in charge.”
“What if Scarabella told you her identity first? Then you could tell me yours, right?”
“I don’t know if that’s how that works.”
“Ask her.”
“Ask Scarabella if she can tell me her secret identity, just so that I can share my secret identity with the girl I like?”
“Yes.”
“I don’t think she’ll say yes.”
“She already did.”
But Chat’s brow furrows and so, with a wide grin, Alya says, “Tikki, spots on.”
There’s a flash of pink, and when her vision clears, she expects to see Chat d’Ombre staring with perhaps shock or wonder, something romantic at least. Instead, he bursts out into laughter and even falls over.
Scarabella grips him by the shoulders to hold him still, but his laughter persists.
“It’s not that funny! I can be a superhero!”
“It’s not that,” he laughs. “I’ve just—I’ve liked you this whole time and you—I never would have guessed—” In between laughs and hiccups, he manages to spit out, “Plagg, claws in.”
Green light bursts from his ring and washes over him. The fine black leather catsuit disappears, leaving behind a plain t-shirt and a plain boy, no hood or goggles, staring up at her with the familiar silly grin of her best friend.
Alya doesn’t feel like laughing. She only gapes at him. “Nino?”
“The one and only.”
“But—but—”
But of course he is. His sense of humor, his need for freedom, his casual, gentle, and compassionate approach to everything—if she had not been so distracted by the intrigue and mystery of a boy in a dark hood, perhaps she would have seen it sooner.
His laughter is suddenly lost in worry as her shock fails to clear.
“Is it—is it okay that it’s me?” he asks.
She sinks down on top of him, pinning him to the ground with her whole weight. “More than okay,” she says, and kisses him again.
Home, for Alya, was always the place she felt loved. Safety was not part of it, couldn’t be with storms raging and her father’s wild animals always in the periphery, but love was always part of it, from her parents to her sisters. As Nino slides his hand through Scarabella’s thick, magically finished curls, she merely adds this love to her definition of home. The place isn’t important, neither is the weather.
As Nino said, it’s the friends he made that made it home. And this friendship—because at its core it still is a friendship and a partnership—is the thing that makes Paris home.

[4 pics, 4 quotes, 4 iconic 1D fics]
Iconic Fics by...
- Layne Faire -
1.
Zayn hesitated just long enough to send the butterflies in Liam’s stomach into a frenzy, then nodded and turned away. He picked up his things, plucked his keys from a bowl on a side table, and opened the door. Quinn looked up at the sound and stood up quickly to follow. Liam grabbed his collar.
“Oh no you don’t, pal. You’re staying with me.”
“Thanks again, Li. I’ll call when I get in.”
“Please.”
The door closed softly behind him, followed by the sound of a car engine turning over. The crunch of tires on gravel slowly faded away, leaving Liam in silence, alone in the house of a man he wasn’t sure he knew anymore, if he’d ever truly known him at all.
2.
“Zayn, you know? He’s so far out of my league, that I figured if I lucked into that, then… well, I’d go with it and damn the consequences.”
“Wait! No! Fuck that, Liam!” Harry’s sudden outburst had Liam staring at him in shock. “Zayn is not out of your league! Who the fuck ever gave you that idea? You’re kind, caring, compassionate, and loyal to a fault.”
“Harry - you’ve just described a labrador retriever.”
3.
“Hey, Louis, it’s Harry... Styles... uhm, Zayn’s friend. And Niall’s, I s’pose. That’s why I’m calling. Niall said you might have a room to rent in your flat and that it’s available now? I need something kind of immediately, not too big, not too expensive. Niall said it could be what I’m looking for. So, uhm, if you’d, I don’t know, maybe give me a call back and let me know if it’s still available and how soon I can come by to give it a look and discuss things with you, that’d be great. I can pay the rent upfront, maybe buy some groceries. I cook, too, if that helps. I dunno. Just... uhm… yeah, give me a call back.”
Louis played the message again, then a third time. He saved the number in his phone, with a simple H to mark the contact, then played the message one more time. Disbelief gave way to cautious elation. He texted a quick reply to Harry that he’d call once he got home, then typed out a swift message to Niall.
Bless you, ya Irish cunt. I’ll change nappies on your firstborn for a month.
4.
Zayn looked up. “I don’t think so. I might be teaching him dance, but it doesn’t negate how I feel about what he does.”
“Saving people’s lives and homes? Of course. Allah forbid he be so selfless.”
“Don’t be an arse.” Zayn settled back in his chair. “He beats people up for fun.”
“That’s a little simplistic, don’t you think?” Doni argued. “He fights in sanctioned boxing matches, under strict guidelines established by the boxing commission. He’s not street brawling after a few pints at the local. That’s hardly the same thing.”
- answers below -
1. Live a Thousand Lifetimes
It’s 2025.
After secretly writing and producing their first album in ten years, One Direction is weeks away from releasing their first new single and announcing a world tour.
With the whirlwind about to begin again, Liam re-evaluates the last ten years - the fame, the money, the people who changed his life forever - and the person who walked away.
2. Untamed Hearts
It could have been the heat of the summer sun; it might have been the silvered sheen of an early harvest moon. If he dug deep enough, Liam could find every reason ever needed to explain away what happened. In the end, though, it all came down to two meddling friends, a touch of Prince, a bit of Keats, and the moon over the ocean. Its a recipe for disaster. Or love. Probably love.
3. Take Your Time
When Harry finds himself in the middle of a messy break-up with no place to live, Louis offers a spare room in his flat. Unbeknownst to Harry, Louis has been infatuated for years. Over the objections of their friends, who know the truth, Harry accepts. Can Louis survive Harry moving into his home…and closer to his heart? Will Harry see what's right in front of him?
4. Shadow Dancing
As a small child, Liam Payne dreamed of being a firefighter. He took up boxing to defend himself from school bullies, but never lost sight of his dream. 15 years later, Liam is set to be the youngest brigade watch commander in his district, and his recent boxing win puts him in line for the British national title - if he can learn to get out of his own way.
Zayn took his first dance lesson at 5, after watching his sister's tap class. At 18, when an injury derails Zayn's dream of dancing professionally, he sets it aside to attend university, but the lure of dancing proves too great to ignore. “Are you writing to that British boy again?” I hear from over my shoulder.
“Yes, and have you heard of personal space?” We erupt in giggles as I push her away.
I close my notebook and move from my desk to my bed. The foot of my mattress is barricaded with boxes. I look around and see my childhood home become empty and filled with boxes and buckets. The walls that were once painted with polaroids of my friends and family from over the years is now back to its basic color of brown that was painted when I was born. My desk is no longer covered with knick-knacks and clutter. The room is just empty. I’m happy that my mom got promoted so my dad gets to go back to his hometown, but it’s going to be hard leaving a place I’ve spent ¾ of my life in.
My mom is a Magizoologist. She came to the United States 20 years ago for a business trip. My dad is a Dragonologist. Their paths crossed when she came to help take a look at a sick Dragon. He showed him how their sanction work and over time I guess they became close because 3 years later I was born.
We used to go back and forth between Illinois and England for about 4 and ½ years before mom decided to just move here. I guess the distance was just a little too much for them, so she decided to move here and now we’re moving back.
I lay down on the bed and stare at the ceiling. It’s scattered with glow in the dark stars that I begged for when I was 7 and ten years later, here they still stick. I’ve been asking dad for four years to take them down. He always said he’d get around to it.
The air feels dry, and my throat is scratchy. I’m trying my best to hold my tears at bay. I love England. It’s a second home to me. Whenever I’m out for summer break I go to my grandparents’ house in Norwich. This is different though. I’m going to be living there now. The British accent I had when I was younger has faded overtime to an American-British hybrid. I’ll surely be made fun of for it.
Maya lays down next to me. We’ve been best friends since the 3rd grade. Just the two of us against the world. Now I have to go through the rest of university without her.
“Maybe it won’t be bad. The worst part is going to be eating their food.” Her jab pulls a smile to the corner of my lips.
“I’ve heard the food at Hogwarts is actually pretty good.”
“Not possibly better than Ilvermony.”
“Never!” I dramatize the word with a gasp. Really selling it as if saying Hogwarts food is better than Ilvermony is a federal offense.
The dust settles and a silence washes over us. It’s a comfortable silence. Soaking in our last moments together. I know it’s not forever. I get to come back here on holiday, and she can use the floo network to visit me, but it won’t be the same. This is the person who has a key to my house because she’s considered family. The same person who that brings me an extra banana nut muffin every day before school just because she knows it’ll bring a smile to my face. I won’t get that anymore.
“What time are you guys leaving tomorrow?” Her head turns towards me, but I keep my eyes trained on the popcorn ceiling in fear that the tears I’ve been holding back will give me away.
“Early. I think 6. We’re meeting the realtor with the keys at 7, so we need to make sure that all of our stuff gets transported this in one fell swoop since we’re apperating there and apparently mom came up with a spell to have our stuff apperate to the new house.”
“Hm. Have you told British boy that you’re got accepted into Hogwarts?”
“Fred doesn’t even know what I look like. Let alone that I got accepted to the same school as him.”
“HE DOESN’T KNOW WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE?” I slap my hand over her mouth and shush her.
“Bitch, shut the fuck up. My parents are right down the hall and don’t know I have a pen pal. They said it was dangerous because people pretend to be someone they’re not, but what the hell?”
She pushes my hand off of her mouth and sits up. Her back meets my headboard and she straight ahead at the door.
“Do you know what he looks like?”
I nod my head yes before rolling off of the bed. I feel to the last page of my journal and find and find a polaroid of him and his brother George from when they went to something called The Quidditch World Cup. I do a quick look over before making my way back to the bed and offering my hand to Maya. She looks at the picture and you can almost see her eyes bulging out of their sockets.
“He has a twin brother?”
“No it’s just someone he met at school.” I resist the temptation to roll my eyes at her comment, but the attitude goes completely over her head.
“Is he single?”
“Maya!” I exclaim with my jaw dropped. “What? You can have a twin and I can’t?”
“Oh hush. You said yourself that you don’t even date white boys.”
“That was before I saw this one. Besides, he’s a ginger so he’s exempt from that statement.”
“I’m really going to miss you Maya.” We make eye contact for the first time in a while and her eyes soften.
“I’m gonna miss you too Angel.”
She looks down at her watch and tells me that it’s fifteen minutes to ten meaning it’s almost curfew. We share one last tearful goodbye as she walks out of my bedroom door for the last time.
. . .
Sure enough, at 5:45 my dad woke me up and told me it was time to get ready to leave. I had taken one last look around my room and made my way downstairs to meet my mother so we could all leave. Right as the clock struck 6, my parents let me grab the powder and be the first to see our new home.
I stood in the foyer and tried to convince myself that it isn’t the best house I’ve ever seen. It’s got a cottage core vibe going on, on the outside. It’s cozy, but big enough for all of us. I wanted so badly not to like it. We went to the backyard and there’s a small river filled with a family of ducks. To the right there’s something that looks like a shack, but bigger. My parents then explained to me it’s my own apartment. That’s when the smile broke across my face. I was finally getting my own space.
The house tour didn’t last long due to the tight schedule we are on. I ended up just waving my wand and letting the magic unpack my stuff as we were right back in the fireplace. Why? Because tomorrow is the first day of school and I have not done any school shopping. The stuff on the list differs a little bit from the shopping list we had for Ilvermony so dad thought it best to wait until we got here. We had to go to Diagon Alley anyway for everyone to open up a bank account.
Now, I’m standing in Madam Malkin’s getting measured for everything. Once I’ve been basically poked and prodded all over my body with clothes pins, I stare out the window and watch everything and everyone pass by. As if someone had played a slow potion button, I see a whole family of red heads walk down the cobblestone and sure enough one of them is Fred. I snap my head down and try to cover my face with my hair. I don’t know why I did that. Once again, he has no idea what I look like.
“All done. You can step down now.” I look over to Madam Malkin and grab my uniform and robe out of her hands. I thank her and rush out the door. Thankfully my parents are done with their list too so we decide to go home.
. . .
The next 18 hours go by quick. I didn’t get a chance to really enjoy my apartment or decorate it due to packing up my trunk since we once again left early in the morning for transportation.
The train ride was painfully boring. No one told me how long it is from England to Scotland. I sat with some mundane people whose names I don’t remember. They were also half asleep and exchanged pleasantries only out of politeness. We bought some stuff off of the trolley and then went back to our own worlds.
At one point it became a little suffocating and I needed to pee so I got up and started walking through the cars when I heard a “Have you heard from her yet, Fred,”. I had stopped before becoming visible to their compartment. He told them no and that he was a little worried. That’s when I remembered that Maya distracted me so I never got to finish the letter.
At the moment, I’m standing at the front of the line of 1st years because I’m new as well but I’m older so I get to get sorted first. My hood is up and I’m looking at the ground, suddenly interested in my shoes. Professor McGonagall informs everyone that I’m a new student from the American wizarding school and I feel my face heat up, knowing the amount of comments I’m about to get from everyone.
She calls my name and I carefully walk up the stairs. At this point my hood is still up so no one has gotten a clear view of my face. I want to do a big reveal of sorts. I sit down and let the hood slide from off of my head. There’s gasps from all across the hall. Some whistles from a few guys. Whispers from a few girls. A handful of people conveyed nonchalant expressions which I greatly appreciate over being fawned over. My eyes gravitate toward the Gryffindor table and I catch Fred already looking at me. His friends are nudging him with an elbow while also looking at me. I guess that answers the question of if he told his friends about me or not. I can’t decipher how he feels, but the adoration on his face calms my nerves enough.
I break our eye contact to look back down at the floor as not to fall off of the stool. I make haste to the Ravenclaw table. I greet everybody and they instantly start asking questions. I laugh as I can’t understand them all at once, but it’s funny hearing them squabble like seagulls. A hand is placed over mine and I look in the direction of where it came from. A beautiful Asian girl gives me a small smile.
“Hi y/n, my name is Cho.” I return the smile and tell her that it’s nice to meet her. A silence washes over the table. I become befuddled and look around to distinguish if I did or said something wrong.
“I thought you were American?” Someone says from the other side of the table. I don’t catch sight of who said it, but respond, nonetheless.
“I am. Well, I’m half. My mom is American and my dad is British. I was born in Manchester but was raised in America.”
An understanding nod is shared amongst the table in hearing vicinity and the conversation ceases as someone else is sorted into Ravenclaw.
. .
After dinner the prefects give the first years a quick tour of the castle and show them to their houses. Cho snuck me with the other 5th years. I’m thankful as I far from want to be touring the castle with a bunch of children. Besides, I have a map of the school and I’ve created a spell that can bewitch the map to help me find my classes.
We make our way up the many staircases and are faced with a large door with an Eagle head as the knocker.
“The only way to enter the common room is by answering a riddle. If you get it wrong, then you have to stand here until someone else comes and says the correct answer or until someone from the inside opens the door.” She says to me. I nod my head in understanding.
“Wanna try it?” Another Ravenclaw asks me. A male. I believe his name is Talbott. I nod my head again and step closer to the door.
“When young, I am sweet in the sun. When middle-aged, I make you gay. When old, I am valued more than ever. What am I?” The voice bellows as the Eagle moves its beak. It shakes my core a little bit.
I look around at the other Ravenclaws. Some with quizzical brows. Some with a knowing look. Others just looking and awaiting my answer. The answer would have caught me up if it weren’t for the last clue; “When old, I am more valued than ever.”
“Wine.” There’s a click sound as if unlocking a lock, and the door slowly opens. Smalls cheers are shared as we walk in.
I’m stuck at the entrance of the threshold inside by the sight in front of me. It’s probably the most gorgeous room I’ve ever seen. The ceiling is coved and gives the illusion of a clear night sky. Stars litter the ceiling and give off the effect of actual twinkling. A blue velvet couch sits in front of a fire, with matching chairs on either side. What really catches my attention is the enormous statue of Rowena Ravenclaw in front of a bookcase. We never had anything like this at Ilvermony. Our emblem was a serpent and we would just have those displayed in various parts of the common room. I watch as everyone goes to various parts of the room while some go behind the bookcase. Cho grabs my hand and also brings me behind the staircase. She shows me that behind this staircase is where the dorms and bathrooms are. I follow her up the staircase and to a dorm. The rooms inferior to the common room but not any less gorgeous. The beds align with the wall as each dorm is in the shape of a tower.
“I see you got the middle bed. Seems fitting as you’re new.” No malice in her tone, though I can see in some way it might have seemed like it.
I sit on the bed and exhale. Truly exhale. This whole journey has been happening too fast. Now that I’m sorted into a house, everything else seems easy. I went over my schedule with Cho and we have all the same classes except Defense Against The Dark Arts. I guess I’ll survive one class without her.
“Well come on lazy bones.” A different girls says to me. Anastasia I believe.
“What?” I sit back up and ask with pure curiosity.
“It’s time to get ready for the party.”
“What party?”
. .
The beginning of the year party. The party where everybody gets blacked out and regrets it in the morning since we start classes at 8 am.
I believe I heard someone earlier yell about flower. A Hufflepuff I believe. I had put on the sluttiest thing I owned and made my way down to the party with everyone else. None of us wear heels, as not to be caught by the caretaker.
The party is in full swing when we open the door the ballroom. The lights are dimmed, but the strobes of light are pungent. We barely make it to the drink table without bumping into everyone on the way. At the drink table is a tall red head with another tall read head which I can only assume is me about to be dealing with the consequences of my own actions.
“Excuse us,” Cho exclaims at the two while trying to push our way to the punch bowl. They look our way and go to move but freeze when they set their eyes on me.
“Y/n?” Fred asks/yells.
“In the flesh,” I yell back.
His smile reaches his eyes as he pulls me in a hug. My face in brought into an awkward place where it’s not quite his chest but not quite his stomach either. I wrap my arms around his middle and hug him back. He smells like cinnamon. I welcome in the scent as we hug for a few more seconds. I can only imagine what Cho is thinking right now.
We pull back at the same time and he begins to speak again. I can’t really hear him over the noise of the ballroom. I look in the direction of the entrance of the room and point to it. He nods his head and we walk towards it, hand in hand.
The door closes behind us but we still stood with our hands intwined.
“Pen pals for 4 years and you didn’t tell me you were transferring.” He exclaims while keeping his voice down.
“I wanted to surprise you.” I say sheepishly.
“Considered me surprised.” He smiled no longer reaches his cheeks but its more somber.
We hear footsteps coming from the far end of the corridor. He pulls me and we start running. I don’t know where we’re going but I trust him. A giggle threatens to out my mouth as we are going up the maze of stairs.
After what feel like forever, we make it to the floor that the Ravenclaw tower is on. I see that Gryffindor is also on this floor. In the middle of both is a spiral staircase. Great. More stairs. He leads us up to a room that looks like a classroom with multiple astronomy tools and an openness to the outside.
“Welcome to the Astronomy classroom.” I unknowingly let go of his hand as I look around in amazement. There’s a celestial sphere with all the constellations on it. A fancy telescope by the balcony. It’s quite literally the Ravenclaw common room in classroom form.
“Gods, this place is gorgeous.” I walk onto the balcony and stare up at the sky. All the stars twinkle and the moon is full.
“As are you.” I turn my body around and face him. He walks up next to me without breaking eye contact.
“Not a disappointment, am I?”
“Only a little. I expect more of an American accent.” I laugh at this before looking down at my shoes.
“You and everyone else. It’s there a little bit with certain words and phrases.”
. .
I sit on the ledge and we talk for a bit. Not much to tell considering I know almost everything about him and vice versa. We talk about school and the people here which eventually leads to the topic of dating.
“Anyone here you fancy yet?”
“You could say that.” I look into his eyes and see if he’s able to read in between the lines.
He leans in and I hear my breath hitch. My fingers grip the railing. His eyes jump to my lips and back to my eyes.
“Who is it?” We both know.
“He’s in Gryffindor. Tall red head with freckles. His brothers are also in Gryffindor.” We inch closer.
“I might know him. What’s his name?” 3 inches apart.
“Ron.” He rolls his eyes at the answer with a chuckle.
“Shut up,” and then he kissed me.
