Data from Vault 95 confirms that The Chair is not a magical-fix-all-your-problems machine — at the very least, it can’t cure the psychological side of chem dependency. It’s not stated in Cait’s quest because of fo4’s aversion to loose ends, but her story definitely isn’t over. (She references this if you do drugs in front of her afterwards.)
I think the next step for Cait is going to have to be expanding her circle of trust past The Player Character (All Hail). The Sole Survivor is wonderful and their relationship is lovely, but they have a lot on their plate, what with being responsible for every political and personal issue in all of Boston.
But… the team has a former addict on it! It’s Deacon! (Unless he was lying. Honestly it’s 50-50. We’ll assume for now that he wasn’t.) We also know that Hancock is really supportive about addiction! I really like the thought that he stops doing/talking about drugs around Cait (or Mama Murphy)(or the kids for that matter). Preston and Piper aren’t bad about it either. Other companions… well, we don’t see how they handle it past the intervention stage. I’m sure they try.
If I knew more about addiction, I’d write about how Cait handles it all. But I definitely do want to write more about the companions supporting each other, because the game’s limitations leave a lot of room to explore that.
#i will never forgive fallout 4 for making the word ‘drugs’ canon#it was funny when that word just didn’t exist#idk the ideal method for supporting a recovering addict but i assume maccready’s whining strategy is not it#i really like cait’s quest to the extent that it’s about breaking down and asking someone you trust for help#idk how else they could have gamified that storyline#the game would have benefitted from maybe one additional convo per companion#to give the impression that they’re working out their issues and you’re supporting them#instead of your presence magically fixing everything#fallout#fallout 4#fo4#fallout 4 cait#cait fallout 4#cait fallout#fo4 cait#fallout cait#cait fo4#hancock fo4#hancock fallout 4#deacon fallout 4#deacon fo4#piper wright#preston garvey

hc. how i imagine my fave arcane characters in relationships ´ཀ` (sevika, jinx, caitlyn, vi, viktor, jayce x f!reader)
A/N: f!reader, maybe ooc, some nsfw, alc mention. love sevika n cait so much theyre just uuuhhghshs not a single arcane girl that aint fine asf prove me wrong oh wait u can't... I CANT WAIT FOR S2!!!! not proofread because exam szn is kicking my booty
VI
𓇼 Common dates with Vi would no doubt include sparring sessions at the gym, meaning you'll spend hours holding punching bags for her while she trains- talking about whatever. Chances are these hours would morph into playful wrestling, with Vi on top of you attacking your face in small kisses. Things might get a bit steamy, though- don't expect to leave the gym without a few fresh hickeys on your neck..
𓇼 Vi wouldn't be shy about PDA all too much, enjoying subtle, casual and comforting touches. Small pecks to the cheek, a hand on the small of your back, linked fingers. Anything more than that? She'll be too flustered, no doubt about it. Imagine sitting yourself on her lap while she's talking to someone- and suddenly she's unable to focus, get her words out right.
𓇼 Acts of service is for sure one of her love languages. The princess treatment you'd receive from Vi would only be amplified by her eagerness to show off in front of you, too. You can't reach something? She's got it, no problem. Broke something? Vi knows a thing or two, she can fix it. You're hungry? She can whip something up. Anything for her girl.
𓇼 Physical touch is definitely a major comfort and one of Vi's love languages, too. Fight me on this, but she looves little spooning. That's not to say she doesn't big spoon, too- she'll insist on it. However, it's those nights with Vi in your arms you see just how soft and whipped she really is. She isn't as tough as she seems, especially not with her girlfriend. At her core, Vi's just scared of loosing people; so having you there to hold, to feel against her skin is a bigger comfort than you would know.
𓇼 During her time in prison (assuming you didn't just break her out, I know I would) she'd spend her days daydreaming about you to no end. Imagining dates, what she would say to you, waking up next to you again after so long. You're her motivation- no doubt about it.
𓇼 Expect playful, unserious nicknames from Vi- cupcake, sugar, cutie, anything like that. She'd use them mostly ironically, but it would be hard to miss the love in her eyes and the affection in her voice as she says them. Chances are she'd use some variation of your name, too. Vi would love any nickname from you- be it silly or not.
𓇼 She's for sure a restless sleeper- in the sense she's out like a log, but rolling around so much you'd think she was wide awake. You'd fall asleep tucked into her arms, and wake up with her head somehow level with your knees, her foot lodged against your chin- whilst somehow managing to steal all the pillows and duvet.
𓇼 Vi, however, would be super overprotective when she's in a relationship- and it would manifest itself in many ways, most of which could drive you apart. Her lone-wolfish attitude could cause some distance between you two at times, pushing you away when doing anything dangerous in fear of loosing you. She's tough; and might struggle to express vulnerability to you about certain things. This means that she would keep some aspects of her life secret, wanting to separate her relationship with you from any of her vigilante activities.
𓇼 After a while, and probably an instance of you following her around when she specifically told you to stay out of whatever it was, she'd be less underestimating of your ability to hold your own. Only then would she accept your help, and hopefully you'll accept her sincere apology in return.
𓇼 Sleeping with Vi would either be the most sensual, loving and tender experience ever- or the most filthy, disrespectful and lustful one. Either way though, Vi's a giver rather than receiver 99% of the time; and it always, always comes from a place of love. Vi just wants to take care of her girl, you know? She'd love to praise your body, running her coarse hands over your skin while she manhandles you. In Vi's eyes, there's nobody more beautiful than you- and she makes it very known. You'd be reminded in the way your legs don't feel right the following morning, the nips and hickeys on your skin.
CAIT (my gf...)
𓇼 There's nothing Caitlyn loves more than quiet nights in or soft mornings in bed with her love (I'll talk more about that later..). A quiet evening in with you after the day's wrapped up is her favorite part of the day- the only time she can really, truly, relax. Picture her coming back to your quaint Piltover home- throwing off her hat and making her way over to you and just collapsing in your arms, her blue hair sprawled against your shoulder.
𓇼 I don't say this just because of that one scene, but Caitlyn looves to shower together. It ties in to her stress, I think- having her girlfriend wash her back after a long day would calm her to no end. The feeling of your hands, the water, the sound of the drops hitting the ceramic shower floor- the towel against her hair as you dry her off, the fresh sheets hugging her bare form as you crawl into bed. That environment, those little things, are the things that makes Caitlyn love you all the more.
𓇼 Another thing I can see Caitlyn loving are those really deep conversations, the moments she gets a glimpse into your raw soul. Those intellectual, honest conversations are some of her favorite times with you; bonus points if you're half naked with a glass of wine, music playing and it happens to be her day off.
𓇼 Caitlyn would be the type of girl to get grouchy and flustered if she's jealous- using her wit to cover it. She'd be super obvious about it, too- obvious side eyes and breaking eye contact until you ask her what's up.
𓇼 Your dates would be slow, chilled out and relaxing; be it art galleries, restaurants, coffee shops or just cozy days in.
𓇼 I feel like Caitlyn wouldn't be too big on PDA, seeing as she has a reputation and image to uphold in public. Subtle and cute gestures like a linked pinkie or touching legs under a table would happen, sure, but anything more than that you're likely to be met with a chuckle and a soft 'not in public, come on'. She's love to show you off, though- not that she'd ever say so.
𓇼 Words of affirmation and quality time are totally her love languages. She's a busy girl- so the time she does get with you is sacred. In a relationship, I feel like Cait has a real no-bullshit attitude, so communication's a strong suit of hers- and thus words of affirmation. You'll never doubt how much you mean to her.
𓇼 Caitlyn! Writes! Love! Letters! Birthdays, anniversaries, or just any time she's reminded of how much she loves you, away or not, she writes letters. Her handwriting's super fancy, signed with a kiss imprinted into the paper by her lipstick or replaced by a drawing of a heart. Caitlyn would be better at conveying her feelings through pen to paper, so no doubt would she be writing you letter after letter addressed to her love.
𓇼 I get the idea that Cait would just stick to the classic pet names; love, sweetheart, dear, dove. She would love being called them by you- not that she'd ever admit it. She'd chuckle, brushing you off- secretly hoping you'd do it again.
𓇼 Cait loves coming home to find you asleep, waiting up for her. She'd be the type of girl to watch you sleep, letting her eyes rake over your figure as you lie asleep at her desk or curled on the small couch in her bedroom. Speaking of sleep- Cait's a light sleeper, waking at any noise or when she feels you move too far from her. I imagine her sleeping pin straight, for some reason- the duvet tucked tight under her chin, legs straight and arms by her side. She might not be much of a cuddler when she's asleep, but that doesn't mean she isn't during the day.
𓇼 As strong and confident you and Cait would be in your relationship, problems would definitely begin to manifest as the events of the show play out. Cait would get snappy, harsh when she's stressed, only amplified by her independence. She would do her best to keep you out of everything, and would gradually spend less time with you as everything happens. Cait would always make it up to you, though.
𓇼 Just a bonus, but Cait's definitely a morning sex girl. That sacred half hour before she has to get up, just you and her in bed? Best believe she's taking advantage. Cait's a huge service top, in my mind- loving to watch your face as she makes you write, be it by toys or her bare hands.
JINX
𓇼 If you're game enough to date Jinx I feel like she'd make for a really great partner (if you can look past the pranks and obvious lack of stability).
𓇼 Jinx would be fiercely loyal, passionate and affectionate and fiery; at times overdramatic, but it's part of her charm. She's a jealous person by nature which is where her loud, harsh side could come out- but I'm certain all fights would be resolved within the day. Jinx would never mean it- it's just the abandonment issues talking.
𓇼 She'd love to keep you on your toes with pranks, spontaneous gifts and dates- hardly anything's planned in your relationship, but again; it's all part of the charm. (This totally includes off-the-cuff quickies too. Just saying).
𓇼 Jinx loves those days you just hang around her workshop with her- listening to music, talking as she tinkers with some shit you picked up from the street for her. Just having you near is enough- as if she'd ever let you go anywhere, anyway. Whatever she's making is also probably a gift for you- a manifestation of one of her main love languages.
𓇼Late night walks around the Undercity where Jinx shows you some new alley or shop are more than common- most dates taking place outside the home, roaming around.
𓇼 Nobody does PDA like Jinx does PDA. She doesn't say hi- just runs up behind you, pulling you in her arms, running her lips over your neck. It's a comforting thing for her- a way to calm herself down. After a fight, any dangerous situation, it's the feel of your skin against Jinx's calloused hands that she seeks.
𓇼 Physical touch and gift giving are her main love languages, no doubt in my mind. Something's broken? It's fixed, personalized, upgraded. She saw a trinket that reminded her of you? It's yours. It's your birthday, an anniversary or anything of that nature? A handmade gift, just for you. I feel like Jinx would be the type to draw her partner, too; leaving you small sticky notes with stick figure doodles around.
𓇼 Jinx is a chronic starfish sleeper- sorry. She's either taking the whole duvet and mattress in bed, or clinging onto you so tightly that you can hardly move let alone breathe.
𓇼She's an insecure, anxious girl at her core; no doubt manifesting itself in the form of jealousy and possessiveness when she's in a relationship. Like a lot of the other girls, she'd do her best to keep you separate from all the conflict- in an attempt to keep you safe. Jinx can't loose you too. She'd be gone, vanished for long periods of time- something you'd have to get used to.
𓇼She's a fast paced, passionate girlfriend in bed. Rough kisses, your lip between her teeth. Jinx would love to leave marks- small bites, hickeys in obvious spots on your neck, wrists. She's rough, playful yet cautious as the last thing she'd want is to hurt you. Sex would be less of a once-or-twice, prolonged event- more like quick, spontaneous and passionate quickies scattered though out the day; really any time she can get you all alone, public or not.
SEVIKA
𓇼 Sevika is crazy protective— she’d tear through anyone or anything just to keep you safe. You’re her number one priority, and she’ll do whatever it takes to shield you from harm. You’ll often catch her ready to confront anyone who steps out of line, her fierce gaze making it clear she’s got your back no matter what; and reminding others that you're firmly off limits.
𓇼 When it’s time to relax, Sevika loves hitting up a bar for drinks. She’s all about that fun atmosphere, especially when she gets to tease you and push your buttons. Expect her to lean in close, whispering something dirty while you're talking to someone else- then act like nothing happened, ordering another round.
𓇼 And yeah, she gets super jealous—like, possessive jealous. If someone’s chatting you up, you’ll definitely feel her presence. She might just slide her hands under your shirt while you’re talking, a firm hand finding solace on your ass or lower back, making it crystal clear who you belong to. There’s no doubt about her loyalty; she wears her heart on her sleeve. Everyone in Zaun and Piltover alike who knows who Sevika is knows that you're her's.
𓇼 Sevika’s all about physical touch and quality time. Whether she’s got her arm around your waist or just pulling you in for a hug, those little moments mean everything to her- grounding her though out the day.
𓇼 If you find yourself with Sevika in her office during the day, especially if she has others over, best believe she'd pull you atop her lap and keep you there. She'd love to show you off.
𓇼 When it’s bedtime, you’ll find her holding you tight, making sure you’re right next to her. She’s a heavy sleeper, but if she notices you’re not there, she’ll wake up instantly, reaching out for you to pull you back in. It’s her way of keeping you close, even in her sleep.
𓇼 Sevika has a little stash of photos of you—some a bit scandalous, definitely. She'd keep them tucked away in her jacket pocket, her personal collection of your best moments. A polaroid (if they even exist in Zaun) of you, all pretty with no shirt or bra; looking up at her. That's her favorite, for sure. Or maybe the one of you in her shower, all soapy and giggling? She can't choose.
𓇼 But here’s the thing: her protectiveness can often times come off as controlling. She worries a lot, and while you know she loves you, there are times when it can feel suffocating. Still, deep down, it’s all about her trying to keep you safe from everything she's involved in.
𓇼 Card game queen. Loves to 'let you win' but most of the time it's just that you genuinely beat her, and Sevika just doesn't wanna admit it.
𓇼The strap is HUGE good lord. In bed you're nothing more than her pretty toy- putty in her hands, weak for her touch (wouldn't we all be?). She'd love to just sink into the couch, watching you squirm and moan, beg and whine for her while she gets you off, be it by some toy or her hand(s?).
toxic wlw with sevika.... huge age and size gap...... being her pretty little thing... nibbling at the bars of my enclosure and drooling everywhere i need her so bad vro
JAYCE
𓇼 Jayce is all about being creative partners, bouncing ideas off each other and collaborating. Whether you’re working on a project or just daydreaming about the future, he’s your biggest cheerleader, always hyping you up and encouraging you. He'd find inspiration in your passion- fueling his own motivation.
𓇼 When you’re together, it’s usually a mix of relaxation and productivity. (I think it's called 'body doubling'? ADHD king honestly)
𓇼 You might find yourselves working side by side in his lab crafting something new, or just enjoying the time together while he rants about the council or rattles off his new ideas; applications for hextech. He thrives in those collaborative moments, and the chemistry between you both makes everything feel effortless and romantic.
𓇼 Jayce can get pretty insecure when it comes to jealousy. Instead of getting mad, he tends to overthink things, imagining scenarios that might not even be real. You'd notice him being a bit quiet or withdrawn if he thinks someone’s getting too close- he wants to be the one who makes you happy, and him alone.
𓇼 Physical touch, like most others on my list, is a big deal for Jayce. He loves to pull you in for side hugs or wrap an arm around your shoulders while you’re talking or pass each other through out the day. He knows how packed and hectic your schedules are; so he treasures those small moments. Those little gestures are his way of showing you how much he appreciates you, in his own little way.
𓇼 And don’t be surprised if he surprises you with little gifts or gestures. He might bring home a trinket that he'd made or saw in a shop window he thought you’d like, showing that he’s always thinking of you, even when he’s busy with his work. It’s his way of reminding you how much you mean to him- in the midst of his gruelling work hours.
𓇼 But sometimes, his overthinking can lead to misunderstandings. He might pull away a bit when he’s feeling insecure, and you’ll need to reassure him that he’s the one you want- that his elaborate scenarios and stupid insecurities don't mean anything. A little gentle nudging and open conversations can help him see just how much you care, and your touch always grounds him well.
𓇼 I feel like Jayce is a total bottom- far more submissive than people give him credit for. Look at him. He's definitely been pegged at least once. At his core, though, I feel like he's a more vanilla guy. Slow, soft romantic nights and mornings with you are more his speed; spare the odd shitty day at work where he either needs you to take care of him, or to get your permission to ravish you until he forgets about whatever he was mad about.
VIKTOR
𓇼 Viktor’s love language is all about that parallel play. He might not be the most overtly affectionate, but you can feel the warmth when you’re both just doing your own thing in the same space. Whether he’s tinkering with a new invention or you’re reading nearby, the comfort of simply being together speaks volumes to him.
𓇼 Time with Viktor is rare, often snatched in small moments away from the hectic world outside. He prefers those soft, chilled vibes over fast-paced outings. You might find yourselves just hanging out in your cozy home or his workshop, surrounded by all his gadgets and loose leaf papers. Those quiet moments are where he truly shines, sharing snippets of his world with you- quiet, spare the odd "Y/N; could you look this over for me?".
𓇼 When he’s with you, Viktor can’t help but get a bit playful and competitive. He loves to tease, whether it’s subtly poking fun at your skills or playfully challenging you to solve some problem (IDK what nerds do bear with me gang..). He’s all about that friendly competition, and it’s adorable to see his competitive side come out, even if he’s not taking it too seriously- a contrast from how cold he can be when engrossed in his work. It's special in the sense it's just for your eyes, too.
𓇼 Viktor is surprisingly protective in his own way. He might not be the type to confront anyone directly, but he’ll always look out for you from the shadows, making sure you’re safe. You can sense his care in the little things—like how he’ll adjust your scarf on a chilly day or keep an eye on your health when you’re feeling under the weather.
𓇼 Physical touch is definitely a part of his affection, but it’s often subtle. A hand resting on your back while he explains something, a lean against you as he stands, or a gentle brush of his fingers as he reaches for a tool. Those little touches mean a lot, showing that he’s there for you without being overly demonstrative- he's not showy like that.
𓇼 Viktor's got a variety of cute quirks- all adorable in their own right. He'd have a habit of doodling sketches of you in the margins of his notes or jotting down ideas inspired by your conversations. It’s his way of holding onto those moments, turning your shared time into something tangible he can revisit later, draw innovation from.
𓇼 Although at times Viktor's intense focus on his work can lead to him getting a bit lost in his projects. It might feel like he’s prioritizing whatever new hex-tech development or theory over spending time with you. However, you know it’s just his passion and dedication to making the world better, and he always makes sure to carve out time for you when it counts- just something you'd grow used to, and even appreciate.
𓇼 In bed Viktor's tame- romantic and sensual. Like Jayce, he'd be soft and slow on account of his weakness, but in no way does that mean it wouldn't be good. He's definitely good with his hands, too.

It’s Not You, It’s Them - CC
Pairing: Caitlin Clark x Reader
Summary: You hide your parents from Caitlin (based on THIS request)
Warnings: slight (maybe a little more than slight) angst, mentions of verbal abuse, SUPPORTIVE CC, a happy ending (because we all need it)
Word Count: 3.2k
Sweetbans Masterlist
AN:
Caitlin is the light of your life. She has been since the first day that you met her. The friendship that was built between the two of you is one that has kept you going even when everything else in the world seemed to be working against you.
The two of you met freshman year during summer training - your high school had conditioning days to help get everyone into shape before their respective seasons or pre-seasons.
You had been talking to the soccer coach and they encouraged you to go to training, talking about how varsity was very promising for your freshman year. You were one of three freshmen that they were looking at joining the varsity team.
Caitlin was one of the other girls they were looking at. The two of you were some of the first people to show up on the first day, immediately hitting it off and talking about how competitive you both are. The two of you spent the latter part of the summer suffering through training together. You thought Caitlin was insane for playing both basketball and soccer at the same time but seeing how much she enjoyed playing the game, it made sense.
She made the transition into high school bearable. Your freshman year the two of you spent most of your time at school - either in the classroom or on the field. You learned that having her as a teammate was the best possible outcome that you could have ever had.
It was the summer going into sophomore year when the two of you spent pretty much every day at her house. The two of you would keep up with your training so once pre-season workouts started you wouldn't die like the summer before.
That summer was one of the best summers you have ever had - most of it was because you spent it at hers and didn't have to be home. It was also the best because, after a night of deep life conversations, you admitted your feelings for the girl. To your delight, she reciprocated them and the two of you started dating that summer.
During the school year, you would always go watch her play basketball when you weren't both on the field for soccer. And any time the two of you hung out, it would either be doing something out and about or at Caitlin's.
It wasn't until the end of sophomore year that Caitlin questioned why she hadn't met your parents yet.
Your soccer team made it to State and it was the talk of the town. It was the first time the girl's soccer team had made it and for the championship game, the whole school was going to support.
Up to this point, Caitlin hasn't said much but knowing how excited and proud you were for this game she decided to test the waters.
"Hey babe, I have a question for you," She says as the two of you are walking out of practice.
"What's up?" You ask as you are trying to make sure your bag is closed as you juggle carrying everything you need to bring home before the game.
"Why is it whenever we hang out, it is always at my house? You have gotten to know my parents and you know they absolutely love you but I haven't met yours yet?" She asks. In her mind, the reason you haven't introduced her to them is because you were ashamed of her in some way.
You see how her shoulders slump a little and how disappointment lingers on her face. It makes you stop dead in your tracks and she stops but doesn't look at you.
You turn to face her but her eyes don't meet yours. You try to get her to look at you but she keeps avoiding your gaze.
"Hey, hey. Look at me Cait." You say as your bag comes to the ground and your hand comes up to her arm, forcing her to stay facing you. She finally gives in and makes eye contact with you.
"My parents would love you." You say. "They are just super busy all the time. I barely see them." You don't know if now is the time to dive into the whole story as to why you spend so much time at her house and not at home. Ever since you have gotten to high school - you did everything in your power to stay away from home which was easy to do with all the events and extracurriculars. You never wanted to get in their way since they made it very known any time you did.
"I just thought it was because of me or that we are dating or something like that," she says, avoiding your gaze again. "I know some parents are as supportive of the relationship we have."
"Oh babe, that's not it, I promise. When the opportunity presents itself I will introduce you. It is just hard when they are so busy." You say reassuring your girl.
Caitlin trusts you. She knows how much you love her already and has no doubts that you want her. It is just hard at times when Cait sees how much her family loves you and wants that to be reciprocated with your parents. She knows you spend most of your time at hers, whether it be after practice or spending the night but it would be nice to be able to see your home.
Cait also knows how you look for them in the crowd during games but never says anything. It is the polar opposite of her family who is at every one of her games - even pre-season. You never bring it up, nor does Cait, but she notices.
The championship game was no different. In the first half, she noticed how your eyes would scan the crowd in hopes of seeing them there. It isn't until after your team has won that hope fades from your eyes as you are congratulated by everyone except the two people who should be there. Caitlin almost misses the tears that threaten to fall from your eyes as her parents come up with flowers and a poster for you. She doesn't say anything but takes note.
You told yourselves that if your parents couldn't get themselves to come to one of the biggest games of your career thus far, then you would truly stay out of their way and just bear what you needed before heading to college.
The next time Caitlin brings it up is during junior year when she offers to pick you up for a date and you turn her down, saying you will meet her at hers.
Caitlin pushes it and insists on picking you up, suggesting that the two of you spend the night at your house this time since her parents will be throwing a dinner party with their friends.
You tell her that they can't stay yours because your parents have a project that they are working on and have taken over the house.
Cait doesn't cave and continues to bug you about it which is the cause of your first fight.
The two of you don't end up going out due to being frustrated with one another. Caitlin doesn't understand why she can't go to your house since the two of you have been together for almost two years at this point and she still hasn't met your parents. You on the other hand don’t know why Caitlin pushes so hard when everything is perfectly fine the way it is currently.
You rarely talk about your parents or home life and for good reason. You didn't lie when you said your parents were always busy but it also wasn't the complete truth.
The relationship with your parents changed drastically when your family moved to Des Moines, IA. Before the move, you were one big happy family. Your parents were super involved in school events and they were always supporting you in sports. But then your dad's job had you moving to a new city and pulling your family away from its community and everything shifted.
Your mom fell into a major depression - taking away from her being a mother. Your dad was always busy with work, making sure to provide for your family. This left you to have to fend for yourself. As you grew up you realized that the less of a burden you were the happier your parents were. They began to enjoy life again but the second you needed something or pulled them from the life that they began building without you - it was like all hell broke loose. They changed from being their happier selves and treated you like you weren't even wanted anymore.
It wasn't hard to see that your parents enjoyed life better without you so you decided to be the least of a burden as you could. Staying out late so they wouldn't have to see you and leaving really early. The less they saw you the less you had to deal with the verbal abuse.
That is why you worked so hard in school and in your sport. You needed an out and didn't want to give them any reason for them to say no. Although knowing your dad, he would pay for you to go whenever you wanted as long as it was far away. But you didn't want to owe him anything. So you poured yourself into your academics and soccer, making yourself one of the top recruits for college.
Caitlin and you made up shortly after the fight, both apologizing for what was said. The two of you decided that your relationship with each other was more important than your relationships with others.
It isn't until senior year that it comes up again but in a very different way than you would have expected.
It is signing day for seniors and you and Caitlin were both signing to Iowa to play your respective sports. Cait dropped soccer going into her junior year as basketball became her main sport. She verbally committed to the University of Iowa that year and you verbally committed to be a Hawkeye for soccer just a few months later. But today is the day the school sets up an assembly where you physically sign your papers.
Your parents are coming to the assembly, knowing the only reason they were there is because it was mandatory for them to be there. If it didn't involve you leaving, they wouldn't give it the time of day.
You are nervous as this would be the first time they are in the same building as Caitlin and her family. You know Caitlin's parents will be amazing, they always are, but for yours - you have no idea how they would react.
They know you have been dating a girl named Caitlin for a while now but never asked you about it. They could honestly care less, which is saying something considering their care for you was almost nonexistent.
You are sitting at the table, listening to your coach's speech on how proud your school is to have you go to the University of Iowa on a full scholarship to play soccer.
The ceremony ends and you see your parents talking with your principal who is showing them what they need to do. Before you know it, you see them walking out - without even a hello to you.
You run them as they walk out of the gym, catching them right on the other side of the door.
"Hey, you weren't even going to come and say hi?" You say as they just stand there looking at you. "I have a few people I want to introduce you to."
Little to your knowledge, Caitlin had run after you when she saw you go after your parents. She stopped when she heard you saying that you wanted to introduce them to people. She stayed on the other side of the gym door listening.
"You know we don't care about meeting anyone - the only reason we are here is because we were required to be in order to get you to leave come the fall." Your father says.
"This is already cutting into work day and the last thing we need is for you to take more of our time." Your mother says.
"It takes two seconds for you to meet them, that's it." You try and ration with them knowing it will only make things worse. But this is the closest you have ever been to making this happen and you know how much Caitlin wanted this.
"Oh trust us, there is no reason they would want to meet us, we have nothing to say about you.” Your mother says. "You have already caused us this headache of having to come out, now asking us to be social with people we care about less than we care about you. You should know us better than that by now to know we just don't care at all."
You swallow the anger and pain that is rising in your chest.
"Oh and about your senior night," your father begins. "Your principal mentioned that we should be there to walk you down the field but that doesn't seem important. Don't expect us to be there."
"Actually, if you could, make sure you are packed and moved out right after graduation. You're 18 and will be out of school therefore you are no longer our problem." Your mother says and it feels like you have just been stabbed in the chest.
Not that it came as a surprise to you but you didn't know where you would go or how begin to begin explaining this to Caitlin.
You just stare at them, not trusting your voice and they walk away.
You take the time you need to compose yourself - thinking through all the possibilities of where you could go after graduation. You feel like you have just been hit by a truck.
Caitlin, on the other side of the door, is now in tears. She is crying for you and hearing the words your own parents said to you. She is crying for all the times she has pushed you, trying to meet them or go and spend time at your house when really you were just protecting her from them. She is crying because she feels guilty for having such loving parents when yours are the polar opposite.
Cait knows you would be extremely embarrassed if you knew she had just heard the way your parents were talking to you so she gathers herself to the best of her ability and makes her way to her mom. Her mom notices how her little girl has broken down and asks what's wrong.
"They are terrible Mom, absolutely terrible," Caitlin begins. "They aren't going to her senior night. I doubt if they will go to her graduation and they are kicking her out the day after we graduate. How can someone's parents be so hateful towards their own child?" Caitlin is now sobbing in her mom's arms.
You finally collect yourself and enter the gym again. As you do you see Caitlin and her mom walk out. You head over to her dad as the plan was to head out to get a meal after the signing.
"Where did Cait go?" You ask as you take a seat next to him.
"Oh I think they just went to the restroom, they should be back right back," he says and you start a conversation with Caitlin's brother.
Caitlin's mom takes her out to calm her down. And they begin to plan how Caitlin and her family can help support you as your family fails to do so.
The next few days, you spend a lot of time at Caitlin's. You don't say why and Caitlin doesn't dare ask, already knowing. You don't tell her about your parents not going to your senior night, not wanting to cause any drama but as it rapidly approaches you dread it.
It wouldn't the first time a players parents were there, but you know for sure you would be the only one this season who walks out alone. Caitlin will be in the crowd and that is all that you need.
Your team gets ready and makes their way out to the field, excited to greet their parents. You are talking with some teammates as they begin to line you girls up.
The way they decided to do this senior night was by calling players by position and then finishing with captains. You would be going third to last - being the first captain called. It eases you a little knowing you will not be the last person on the field with no one walking to meet you in the center of the field.
The ceremony begins and they start calling girls names. You cheer on all of your teammates, holding your breath as you are the next one up.
Your eyes are closed as your head is down. An exhale escapes you as you hear your name called. What you heard next, gave you whiplash with how fast your head flew up.
"Our first team captain going to play for the University of Iowa on a full ride is met by parents Brent and Anne!"
Your eyes fill with tears, falling freely as you see them walk their way to meet you in the center of the field. As you walk you realize they called Caitlin's parents your own. In the seconds it takes you to walk to them, you reflect on how they have loved you and cared for you as their own. Even more so when Caitlin and you told them that you were dating. They had chosen to be your family not only in this moment, but over the last four years.
They meet you in the middle of the court, both are holding flowers for you. Caitlin's mom envelopes you into a hug and you melt into her, savoring the love of a mother's hug.
"We may not have raised you, but you are a part of this family. Today, tomorrow and always. We love you, baby," Anne says as she releases you and uses her sleeves to dry your tears.
You step over and hug Brent.
"We are so proud of you," he says with a smile. "We can't wait to watch you lead the Hawkeyes to the NCAA college cup."
You all walk down and they shake the hands of your coaches. Each one of your coaches has some sort of idea of what your parents are like thank Brent and Anne for showing up for you.
You later learn that one of your closer coaches would have walked out to greet you if the Clark's hadn't asked to do so. You don’t know how but you are incredibly thankful someone was watching out for you - a literally angel.
That night you lead your team to victory, scoring 3 goals, one of them in the last few seconds going into the half putting your team in the lead. The win was a sweet one to top off the night, not that you needed anything else to make this night better.
At the end of the game - Caitlin finds you on the field and you immediately pull her into a hug.
She holds you.
"Doesn't matter what the case, doesn't matter where you are. I got you babe. I've always got you." Caitlin says not letting you go, she refuses to let you go first and will hold you as long as you need.
AN: I hope this did your prompt justice, I thought it was cute. Let me know what you think! And as always, thank you for your love and support 🤍

OIL & WATER - VI X CAIT
pair - Vi x Caitlyn (arcane)
synopsis - years had gone by, Caitlyn was the chief of police and vi was, well, vi was too busy living in the past. Something about an illegal fighting pit was brought to Cait’s attention, and she decided to check it out. What she didn’t expect was to see her ex girlfriend there, and not only that, she was one of the champions.
tags - NOT SPOILERS!!! smut, blood mentioned, switch vi, switch cait, pussy & ass eating, fingering, humping, kinda sad idk
It was humid that night, and the air felt more dense down here than on topside, fumes from surrounding factories making it hard to breathe.
Caitlyn had her reasons for being in the lanes tonight. It was brought to her attention earlier in the month, some commotion surrounding pit fighting.
As far as she’s aware though, it had nothing to do with shimmer, Jinx or Silco’s still very much active posey, even in death, that being said, she couldn’t give less of a fuck, but being chief and all, the least she could do is check it out.
Thankfully, or maybe not depending on who you ask, the tips she was fed were right, and this wasn’t a complete waste of time.
It was an unassuming location, tall, but fit right into the neighboring buildings, wedged between the two and countless others that stretched out into a narrow maze.
As she stood, waiting, watching, the dim light outside flickered a green haze as she observed the people leaving and entering- consistent and rough, definitely the type of place she should’ve brought backup for.
But, as stated previously, she didn’t give a shit.
She started to walk towards the door, pulling the jacket tighter to her chest, and kept her head low. She wasn’t in her uniform, and tried the best to wear something to make her fit in, but her memory of the fashion down here was a little hazy.
She entered, heavy mental blaring loudly over the many speakers, the crowd even louder.
A man’s voice louder than the rest came over the intercom, the reverb making it hard to distinguish, but the crowd seemed to understand, and they liked what they were hearing.
As she continued further into the building towards the center where the action seemed to be, she stumbled, a hard shoulder trusting into hers.
“Fuckin’ watch it.” The man spat as Cait held her arm, his gold teeth flashing.
She definitely didn’t belong here.
Luckily for her, the man continued on without it escalating further than a scowl on his face and insults muttered under his breath.
Or maybe he’s the one who’s lucky.
She approached the buildings sunken center, doors on either side of the pit opening, and more incoherent yells coming from the announcer and the crowd as it was time for the show to start.
On the left, a large man, freakishly large, his mouth open, and face red as he yelled into the crowd, fists raised up high.
“Jesus”, Cait shuddered in thought, holding the edge of her hoodie by the side of her face, shielding her profile from those in close proximity.
Caitlyn’s mind raced as she absorbed the environment around her, surely, no sane person would go against him, or if they did, they didn’t plan on leaving here tonight alive, which was the only conclusion that seemed logical to her.
She stared at the other door, pitch dark on the other side, and waited for the opponent, but seconds passed and no one showed.
Maybe he chickened out? That wouldn’t be totally irrational.
Caits vision shifts to the man in the ring as he circled around, his fists banging on the metal walls like he was in an adrenaline induced rage, yells from the impatient crowd only fueling it.
But that’s when the man stops yelling, a stone cold expression taking over as he looked to the other side of the pit.
Her eyes followed to where he stared.
The second champion had arrived.
It wasn’t a man at all, but a woman, hair jet black, and smudged makeup around her eyes and down her cheeks to match.
Cait couldn’t help the way her jaw slightly dropped, a fastening in her breath that also went unnoticed at this time.
They stood far apart on either side of the pit, circling around each other like they were waiting to see who would lunge first.
The man was clearly impatient, itching to land a hit on the women, whereas the woman was more composed- serious, but ready, holding her fists out in front of her, blood already soaking through the bandages around them.
Does she fight here often?
Was this even her first fight of the night?
Cait had many more questions and that woman could be the key to answering them.
A bell rings out, and the man doesn’t waste a second to fling himself across the pit, but just as his fists are about to connect, the woman dodges, avoiding his advances, and lands a blow to the center of his stomach.
He falters. It was slight but noticeable, not just to the crowed but to the women as well.
She uses this to her advantage, and lands another fist to his face, blood now smearing the side of his jaw.
This angered the man, causing him to lash out, and an eagerness to connect his tight fist to her body, but that’s where he fucked up.
She was smaller than him by a long shot and lighter too, one second she was there, centimeters away from feeling his wrath, and the next she was both behind him and somehow, also, one step ahead.
It was almost unlike anything Caitlyn has ever seen, but it reminded her of someone.
Cait continued to observe, eyes glued to the mystery fighter, and didn’t dare look away.
It’s like she was toying with him. At many times, she could’ve ended it, but didn’t, instead she’d let him get up only to send him flat on his face again.
It was equally impressive as it was terrifying, and if Caitlyn wasn’t a police officer sent to scope out the place, she’d be offering her respects to the woman.
To Cait, it couldn’t have been more than a 5 minute fight, like it was over before it even started.
But in the same breath, she saw it all so vividly, a slow motion picture that she could’ve described in agonizing detail.
The dark haired woman celebrated, her fists high up in the air and her teeth baring, the crowd sound colliding like a mixture of both celebrations and defeats.
Finally being able to put a face to the voice over the speaker, Caitlyn watched as the man, microphone still in hand, greeted the women in the pit, and held her and up by her wrist, the crowd chanting something that she couldn’t quite comprehend- A name of sorts, not a real one, but a stage name.
She was known here, that much was obvious, and based on her performance tonight, it’s no surprise.
The woman was handed what looked to be a satchel of money before she turned her back towards the crowd, and disappeared back into the dark from which she came.
In Caitlyn’s awe, she almost forgot why she was there in the first place- to gather information, and the one who she wanted to talk to was no longer in her sights.
She lets go of the railing, fingers slightly stiff from how hard she had gripped it during the fight, and leaves the building.
Once outside, Cait searched for the mystery woman, narrowing her eyes down the outstretched alleyways, but it was like she really had disappeared without a trace, in fact, almost no one was around.
Caitlyn should’ve left. Should’ve called it a night, and come back around the same time next week in hopes she’d see the woman again, but all logic seemed to slip from Cait’s mind.
Instead, she rounds the building, and walks down an even narrower corridor towards the back of the building, looking for another exit the women could’ve slipped out of.
Part of her didn’t expect to see her again, but she did.
The woman was about 50 feet away, walking with her back towards Caitlyn, the patch on the back of her leather jacket only noticeable as she passed under the sparse lightning.
Cait’s hands slipped into her pockets, head low, and kept at a safe distance as she began following the woman.
She could be dangerous for all Cait knows. And usually, Cait would think things like this through before doing something as stupid as following a stranger home in a territory that’s mostly unfamiliar to her.
But it’s not like she was going to engage with the women, not tonight anyway, and certainly not alone.
Sometimes, some things go well beyond your control, chief of police or not.
The woman once again disappears from Cait’s sight as she turns the corner up ahead, and Caitlyn uses this time to close the gap by picking up her pace.
As she rounded the corner, she pauses, confusion in her face once she realized the woman was gone.
Caitlyn continued anyway, thinking the woman had lived in the area, and she had simply turned off into one of the many smaller alleyways.
The heel of her boot rang a hallow clunk in the otherwise still surroundings as she stepped forward, a faint scuff being heard from behind just as she was about to take another.
“Who the fuck are you, and why are you following me?”
Cait freezes, slowly bringing her hands up to submit to whatever violence was about to pursue, but still didn’t answer the voice coming from behind.
Even her voice was familiar.
“Are you seriously going to make me ask you again?”
Cait could tell her silence only angered the women more, but she didn’t really think ahead enough to come up with a cover story in case something like this were to happen because she wasn’t supposed to fucking engage tonight.
“I- I’m a fan.” Caitlyn finally speaks, and god, did she feel stupid.
“What?”
“I saw you fight tonight. I’m a fan.”
This was Caitlyn giving it her all- a lie disguised as a genuine excuse for following her, but maybe that’s not all it was.
And this was also about the time the woman knew that this wasn’t just some random stranger.
“Caitlyn?”
Cait’s hands slowly descended back to her sides as she turns, coming face to face with the woman.
It took her a second, and in hindsight, it was so obvious- the fighting, and how she moved-
“Violet?”
They both stood there at a loss for words, and memories of the past on replay, their eyes being the projector.
There was a silence between the two, but there was so much being said in that silence, but none of it seemed to matter right now.
Cait’s eyes glanced down, noticing the droplets of blood on the cobblestone at Vi’s feet.
“You’re bleeding.”
Vi holds up her hand, the white of the gauze no longer visible from her wrist down.
She sighs, her chest noticeably falling deeper.
“Go home, Cait.”
Caitlyn watches in bitter suit agony as Vi turns away from her, leaving her behind, and it’s like she was right back in the place, her mother dead and Vi nowhere to be seen or heard from again.
“I can’t.”
Vi pauses, glancing back over her shoulder, and waited for an explanation that didn’t look like was coming.
Cait looks elsewhere, the floor, walls, the light post a few feet away… anywhere except for Vi, which is ironic because that’s the only thing she wanted to look at.
She stumbles over words, and opened her mouth before she shuts it again.
It’s been awhile since Cait has felt like this- so unsure and out of control, even lying, which isn’t out of the ordinary for her job, but it was never her taste.
She was desperate. Hurt.
It was a job turned personal, and she wanted answers.
“You’re under investigation. I’m going to have to ask some questions.”
Cait sounded like it didn’t phase her, professional and cold- like it totally didn’t make her want to crawl inside her skin and die, but that was far from the truth.
She hated this reunion, or more specifically, she hated how how often she thought about this day happening- the day she’d finally see her again, and this was never how it played out in her head.
“Really?” Vi scoffs a laugh, half turning to face her, “Now?”
All Caitlyn could do was nod, she didn’t dare trust the ever growing lump in her throat.
This isn’t how Vi thought it would go either, never wanting to be on the other end of Cait’s authority, well… not like this anyway. But at this point, Vi had nothing to lose, and she’d take whatever Caitlyn gave her.
Vi’s hands stung, sticky bandages clinging to open wounds as she shoved them into her jackets pockets.
“We can talk at my place. It’s just up there.”
She nodded her head in the direction further up the street, and started walking before Cait could suggest something else or resist altogether, but even in Cait’s sanest mind, she wouldn’t dare.
Caitlyn, against her better judgment and years of police training, followed Vi, but the thought of this being a set up also crossed her mind.
And almost, as if on cue, Vi looks over her shoulder, pulling a set of keys out of her back pocket.
“We’re here.”
She proceeds to lead Cait up a steep set of stairs, metal bars crumbling to rust under Cait’s hand as she approached the second story apartment, still keeping the idea of it being a set up in the back of her mind.
It was dark. Dingy. A polar opposite to what Caitlyn was used to.
Bottles littered the floor, some empty- most empty, others at varying levels of emptiness, and a small bed shoved into the corner.
As nonchalantly as Cait could, she looks around at the cramped space, and Vi did what she always did upon coming home- grabbing one of the said half empty bottles, and sat on the edge of her bed, taking heavy swigs between labored breaths.
Vi’s forearms rested on bent knees, only moving from this position to take another swig as blood continued to leak from her knuckles.
“You wanna talk so talk.”
Again, another sip, and a gash from Vi’s eyebrow that hadn’t been noticed before started to bleed, a thin trail of crimson flowing down the side of her face.
A bitter taste filled Caitlyn’s mouth, lingering resentment she thought she was well past rising to the surface.
“So this is what you’ve been up to?” Cait scoffs out, sounding somehow even more bitter than she’d ever expected, immediately wishing to take it back.
Vi either didn’t hear or she was pretending that Cait’s words weren’t like a fucking dagger to her heart, taking a final swig before setting the bottle aside.
She began unwrapping the bandages, her lip slightly twitching as the fabric peeled from open skin, and as much as she tried to keep her pain hidden from Cait, it wasn’t working.
Caitlyn kneels to the ground, and pulls out a handkerchief with some fancy emblem sewed into the corner.
“Here. You’re going to bleed more if you keep shaking like that.”
She grabs Vi by the wrist, holding her still, and started dabbing the area clean.
It was so gentle. Cautious. Almost healing upon contact.
It’s been so long since Vi had been handled with such care. The last time also being Caitlyn right before shit hit the fan.
It was against everything in Vi’s nature to let someone else care for her, but this time, she found it impossible to refuse.
“I thought you were here to arrest me, not play doctor.” Vi hisses, the plain cloth now dosed in the high proofed liquor she had just been drinking, and it definitely being on purpose on Caitlyn’s behalf.
“I’m not going to arrest you, Violet. I told you, I just had some questions.”
Vi’s eyes rolled, a huff passing her lips, “So why aren’t you asking them?”
Caitlyn thought for a moment, and moved to be seated next to Vi, using firm grip with her index and thumb on Vi’s chin to move her head to the side, and started to clean the cut to her eyebrow.
“How long have you been fighting there?”
She asked, or more so demanded, really playing into the scary cop archetype, but that clearly wasn’t the case as she cleaned away at the girls soon to be scar.
Again, Vi winced, trying to pull away from the burning sensation on her eyebrow, but Cait wouldn’t let her get far.
“Dunno. A few months, half a year… Maybe more.” Vi answers, although not very helpful, and she knew it too.
Vi knows exactly how long it had been, not necessarily the fighting, but how long it had been since she’d seen Cait, just so happened they were one and the same.
Caitlyn’s hand lingered a little longer than needed, after noticing (and hoping Vi didn’t) she pulls away.
“Who runs the operation?”
Cait looks over her shoulder after a few seconds of no reply, only to see Vi lying down on the mattress, and her eyes hidden behind her arm that was draped across her face.
Vi chuckled, a half hearted one at that. Her canines flashing briefly, “Why would I tell you that?”
She moved to her elbows, resting her weight on them, and looked to Cait who seemed to be a bit distracted.
Could be because something that has never happened to her just happened- not getting her way, or in this case, not getting her questions answered, but it wasn’t that.
She was distracted by the sudden intimacy. Both of them being so close on a bed, dim lighting just adding to the heightened senses, and she was distracted by Violet herself. Sure, it’s the worse Cait had ever seen the girl, including the time she was stabbed and bleeding out. But it was different. She looked stronger, more mature, and all the exposed skin that Caitlyn wasn’t used to seeing was no longer hidden away due to the limited coverage of her chest bindings.
And it certainly didn’t help that whenever Cait was near her, even back then, the tension was suffocating.
Vi has lost a lot before this moment, but now, it’s Caitlyn’s turn to lose.
Caitlyn joins Vi, and mimicked her position on the bed, fingers interlocked over her stomach as silence crept in.
They both stared ahead at the cracked, flaky ceiling, a silent mental game to see who would look at the other first, but Violet was especially weak in that field.
“Is this really why you came? To ask questions about the pit?”
Vi asks, sounding so small, so quiet like regardless like of what the answer was, the idea of it possibly leading to something bigger terrified the girl.
Caitlyn turned to face Vi, tucking an arm under her head.
To Vi, it felt too good to be true to be with Cait like this like that one time all those years ago when things were ever so slightly easier. On nights where she’d had gotten too drunk too fast, and too alone, she’d fall asleep to that memory, but now, it felt like a lifetime had passed since then, and neither of them resembled who they used to be.
“I was just checking it out and then I saw you fight…” Caitlyn trails off, and her eyes squeezed shut, letting more silence intrude, “I didn’t know it was you until you said something.”
Vi thinks for a moment, the pouding in her heart growing a little louder as Caitlyn turned onto her side to face the once pink haired girl.
Caitlyn speaks first, of course she did. Vi was too in her head, too anxious to engage a conversation without the promise of a stutter or slurry of pent up emotions all coming undone at once.
“I don’t care about the pit, Vi… never did.”
Caitlyn’s body tightens, arms cradling around herself as she didn’t dare look Vi in the eyes.
In a way, it was a confession, an apology. A way of saying that even though a lot of time has passed, things done that shouldn’t have been allowed, and words spoken that never should have, she still always thought of her.
“Then why are you here now and not then?”
Caitlyn fills with dread. Every ounce of that question felt like she was being faced with all her regrets because the truth is, she didn’t have an answer. It was everything and nothing all at once, an endless loop of what felt like excuses.
This is when Cait finally looks up, meeting the icy blue of Vi’s eyes that seemed a whole lot dimmer than what she remembered.
“I thought that’s what you wanted… for me to stay away. I thought it would be… easier.”
Caitlyn couldn’t have sounded more guilty, more afraid by an impeding reaction. But Vi isn’t like her.
“Do you still think it’s easier?”
Vi asked, a humor hidden behind obvious hurt that it wasn’t the explanation she wanted, but she’d happily take, reaching a hand out a little further on the mattress between them, praying Cait would take the bait.
And Caitlyn did.
First, it was hand on hand, then fingers intertwined, and breathing fastened.
It was the hardest decision she ever had to make, but the question had gone completely forgotten as hand touches turned into opened mouth kisses, and Caitlyn’s fingers wrapped up in the longer layers of Vi’s hair as she climbed on top.
Vi’s hands were on Cait’s back, running along the length of it, and in the divot of her spine- feeling, reeling the shape of her, memorizing every detail in a matter of seconds in case this was just another “easy” decision on Caitlyn’s behalf.
But there was also no way in hell Vi was going to make the same mistake twice.
“Say you mean it.” Vi mumbled between the kisses to Caitlyn’s chest, ridding her of her jacket just moments prior.
“What?”
Caitlyn’s confusion didn’t stop there as Vi hooked an arm across her back, maneuvering them both with ease so that Cait was underneath her.
There was an eagerness- a lack of regard that Caitlyn felt from this position- the familiarity of it, and what it has led to in the past like a drug that you worked so hard to rid yourself of just for it all to crumble in an instant when laid out in front of you- or in this case, on top of you.
“Say you mean this.”
Vi’s tone emphasizes, and in any other context, it could've come off as demanding or harsh, but right now, it was unmistakably desperate.
Vi’s eyes lock onto Cait’s as she lowers her head down, her tongue connecting with the hot flesh across Cait’s lower stomach.
A hum is pulled from Caitlyn’s lips- subtle but there, and Vi took it as permission, hooking her long fingers into the waistband of Caitlyn’s pants and proceeded to pull them down just enough to see how far the lace of Caitlyn’s black panties went, which to Vi’s surprise, went pretty far- all the way type far.
She thought she was going to make Caitlyn work for it. Beg for a touch, a feel, a taste… Some sort of payback was expected, but that was before the kiss, or the way Caitlyn looked at her, and definitely before Vi got a hint of her taste through the lace.
“I mean it-“ Caitlyn stutters, her head falling a little heavier against the mattress as Vi’s mouth envelops Caitlyn from down below, lace heavying with the spit-precum mixture.
Whether Caitlyn meant it or it was just another empty promise to get what she wanted didn’t matter to Vi. She needed it just as much as Caitlyn did- the orgasm, the empty promise, either would suffice when your reality is beating the shit out of people before they could beat you up first, and drinking until the term “blackout drunk” didn’t seem like it was enough.
Before Vi, or Caitlyn for that matter, could think about the consequences or the impending repeated heartbreak that would come from this, Vi slipped the few inches from the bed to the floor. Her knees clashed against the cold concrete, pulling Cait along with an arm wrapped under her thigh and her other hand busy, an index finger hooking the small patch of cotton where Caitlyn’s pussy was previously hidden behind, pulling it to the side.
“Holy shit… I’ve missed you.” Vi exhaled, unsure if the statement was directed at Caitlyn herself or the part of Cait that Vi’s face was centimeters away from.
Vi continued slow licks, bring her head up every so often to more closely observe Caitlyn’s movements- the rise of her chest, the soft mews and almost wines of contempt when Vi would stop, even if it was only for a few seconds.
She showed incredible restraint, not because of the payback that she promised herself she’d get, but because she wanted to make it last, savor it, but Caitlyn on the other hand wasn’t as sentimental.
“Stop-“ Caitlyn starts but is cut off. A slight clench in her jaw as she winces, and a stinging sensation spreading high on her inner thigh where Vi’s teeth bit down.
“stop teasing.”
Vi tongue slid across the freshly made mark, soothing it before looking up, and meeting a less than enthusiastic Cait.
She chuckles, a quick breath leaving her nostrils, “Oh? You don’t like how I do it?”
Vi’s teeth flash, and the corner of her lip upturned.
Maybe this was her payback.
“Show me how you want it then.”
Caitlyn stared for a second before moving, a split decision that showcased just how fragile her patience truly was.
She gets up, hand and knees on the mattress, and held a hand out for Vi to take, which she does.
Cait pulls her onto the bed, putting her hands on the front of Vi’s shoulders as she climbs on top to straddle her waist.
Vi in all of this was a little starstruck, going along with whatever Caitlyn wanted even if it meant imminent death, but luckily for her, that seemed like a far off possibility right now.
Caitlyn reaches behind to unclasp her bar, letting the straps fall naturally down her arms before tossing it the short amount of distance to the floor, and Vi did her best to not stare, but old habits die hard.
Instead of a witty remark on Caitlyn’s behalf about “having some dignity” or “my eyes are up here” she welcomed the attention, even encouraged Vi to go beyond just looking, but Vi didn’t need the extra incentive.
Her hands danced along the sides of Caitlyn’s torso, squeezing her smallest parts with the cuts and scraps long forgotten before they reached her breasts.
She cupped them, letting the natural curve guide her fingers, and didn’t stop until Caitlyn leans forward to kiss her.
First, it was slow, pecks overlapping into drawn out kisses before tongues intertwined into a maze with no beginning or end, and hands cradling, holding parts of each other that have been neglected of touch for far too long.
For Caitlyn, it was nice at first to have this and nothing else, but the itch was building into a painful rupture, and Vi wasn’t far behind.
Cait’s hand glided down Vis stomach, fingers curling over the ridges of her prominent abs until they’re forced to a stop by the heavy hardware of Vi’s pants.
“Can I?” She whispered against Vi’s lips, heavy breathing filling the momentary silence before an answer could be spoke, but it wouldn’t take long.
With permission granted, Caitlyn lowers herself to mirror Vi position from just a few minutes before, undoing the buckle, and with the help of Vi, she pulls the ripped, dark denim from her legs.
As soon at the warmth of Cait’s mouth became the only thing Vi could feel, a tear was almost shed- gratitude or the longing for things to stay like this forever had become overwhelming even for a girl like Vi.
Vi’s hands reached, fingers intertwining with the dark blue hair that flowed loosely around Caitlyn’s face, a total opposite to the tight updo Cait had worn not even 20 minutes ago, now having a slight wave to its usual unbending pattern.
“Fuck, Cait-“ Vi groaned, swallowing it down as she bit her lip. “-I’m gonna cum.”
Already? But Caitlyn just started?
Maybe her first impression of Vi after the time apart had failed her. Surely, she had different girls in and out of this room, sometimes more than one in a single day, but clearly that wasn’t the case.
Cait eased up, applying less pressure, and only allowing the lightest of touches to Vi’s clit before stopping all together to tempt a finger inside.
“Oh fuck-“
Vi tried sitting up to look at Caitlyn, a plummet in strength as Caitlyn’s knuckle disappears inside, and shortly after, another finger was added.
Cait continued like this- in and out, slow, agonizingly slow at first, pulling all the way out, before stuffing her full, over and over again she did this until she picked up speed.
The light pressure of Caitlyn’s lips on Vi’s inner thighs proved to be little distraction to the pressure building deep inside Vi’s stomach, but seemed to be more effective when Cait’s lips reconnected to her clit.
Vi heaved, the bindings around her chest tightening even more as her chest rose deeply, and her whines softening into a delicate cry, which was a rare occasion for her.
But she was sensitive, starved, also didn’t help Cait happened to be quite the perfectionist, even in sex.
VI’s hands threw down, pressing on the back of Caitlyn’s head, and held her there with her hips rolling with the motion of Cait’s tongue, and without a minute to waste, Caitlyn’s mouth filled with her, over pouring until it was dripping down to the peak of her chin.
Despite the hard-hitting orgasm Vi just endured, it didn’t take long before she pulls Cait onto the bed, and with Cait’s mouth still glistening with Vi’s climax, she kisses her, tongue lodging itself deep into the back of Cait’s throat. As she’s doing this, she’s molding Caitlyn, putting her into position before she could process.
Vi’s hand is on the back of Caitlyn’s neck, kissing her deeper and deeper before she stops, a thin trail of spit breaking as Vi pulls away.
“Vi…” Caitlyn breaths, eyes glossy, and on the brink of tears as Vi’s hand trails along her spine, applying pressure.
“Do you trust me?” She whispered, maintaining eye contact as her lips grazed Caitlyn’s shoulder.
Caitlyn’s bottom lip is taken hostage for a brief moment between her teeth before releasing, giving a slight nod, but enthusiastic nonetheless.
Vi is brought to her knees, positioning herself behind Cait, and her hand on Caitlyn’s back lowering her down.
With cheeks squished against the mattress below and unable to see Vi directly, Caitlyn could do nothing but anticipate what’s to come, and because she couldn’t see Vi, the touches to her ass and inner thighs only felt amplified.
Now, this is where Vi hand all the power, all the time in the world to see Caitlyn how she’d often think about her in her dreams, specifically on nights where her hand couldn’t come close to ever being enough.
Her hand is dragged along Cait’s back, fallowing it all the way down to the space between Cait’s thighs, and cradled her cunt in the palm of her hand, letting the moisture soak through her skin.
With this little amount of pressure, Caitlyn pushes her hips back into Vi’s touch, the arch in her back deepening, and her cunt clenching at what’s to come.
Seeing how eager Caitlyn was for her touch, Vi had to feel it for herself, so she hooked the thin stitches of the laces with her fingers and pulled, and with a harsh, quick yank, it broke away from Cait’s hips.
Another whine is emitted as Caitlyn attempted to look back at Vi, who was lowering herself to be eye level with Cait’s lower set of lips, pulling her ass apart to more clearly see how much of a mess she was, even when she tried so hard to seem composed.
She licked, and licked, and licked. There wasn’t an inch of Caitlyn that hadn’t been touched by Vi’s tongue. They had no off-limits, and the term “gross” wasn’t even in their vocabulary. They had nothing to be embarrassed about when it was just them two, and Caitlyn is learning now that even after years apart, it’s still the same.
Even the lockjaw that was threatening Vi’s mouth didn’t stop her- her thumbs centered between Caitlyn’s thighs, physically holding her lips apart as she flexed inside her, pushing the hot muscle as deep as it could possibly go, Caitlyn’s muffled whines sounding a whole lot less muffled even with her face buried in the sheets.
That’s when Caitlyn found some strength- a mere ounce of it, and she used this strength to reach a hand behind in search of the only hand she wanted to hold.
She squeezed until her nails left indents on the back of Vi’s hand, and Vi knew she was close.
Vi narrowed in, working through the sore jaw and neck, squeezing the plush of Cait’s thighs until the skin around her pads turned white.
Caitlyn cursed as she came, and in the same breath, she also spoke Vi’s name so sweetly that it made up for the obscenities.
Vi could’ve stopped there, but what then?
Caitlyn would spend the night?
Move in?
One of those is more plausible than the other, but Vi didn’t like her chances.
As Caitlyn laid there, stomach flat to the bed, and her head resting on forearms, and seemingly trying to catch a breath, Vi crawled on top of her, bandagings coming loose as she lowers herself onto Cait, and kissed her across her shoulders.
It was sweet- possibly the most innocent form of physical touch, but that’s when Vi’s creeping hand continued to lowers itself until her wrist was snug between Caitlin’s ass.
VI’s head lowers, her bottom lip grazing Cait’s ear, “Tell me if it’s too much.”
Her breath is heavy, not from exhaustion or something similar. She was insatiable, greedy, and the guilt was loud for what she was about to do, but her hunger was louder.
“Okay..” Caitlyn responded, her eyes widening a bit as Vi’s hand grabbed the underside of her jaw to turn her face to feed Vi’s greedy lips once more, sinking two fingers inside.
A gasp disconnects them briefly as the full length of Vi’s fingers disappears inside but is quickly taken ahold of by Vi's greed once again, whose motion of her wrist was quickly growing in pace.
One orgasm had passed, then two…
Caitlyn cried out, all her strength exhausted as she squeezed at the forearm that was seat-belted across her chest, and Vi’s less busy hand ever so gently fitted around Cait’s neck, lightly applying pressure with her fingers to the sides.
It was so sweet- a little rough and almost sadistic if you noticed the details- the tear-stained sheets, the handling of Caitlyn’s lower half, but, overall, sweet and undeniably passionate.
As Caitlyn cried out- louder, and her voice on the brink of a scream, Vi face muzzles into the side of Cait’s cheek, and places a kiss to the tear-stain by her eye, catching the saltwater with her lips, “I wanted to marry you, did you know that?”
“You left, and I wanted to marry you. I still do.”
Again, Caitlyn was left unable to reply. She couldn’t form a sentence, nonetheless have a conversation of this degree.
So, instead, she says her name, a meek “vi” leaving her lips as she looks over her shoulder to look into her eyes.
“Please.”
Like clockwork, Vi did what she was asked, and kept a steady, consistent rhythm.
Sweat-drenched hair stuck to Caitlyn’s forehead, and her nails curling into Vi’s skin as her screams continued for a few more seconds, each time getting cut short as Vi’s fingers collided with her cervix until the fluid seeped out around Vi’s hand.
She retreats, and pulls out carefully to minimize Cait’s discomfort before lying on her back next to her, heavy breathing shared between the pair.
Vi didn’t speak. She couldn’t. This was her one opportunity to get her back- fix things to be how they were supposed to, and she fucked it all up by letting her emotions get out of hand.
It wasn’t even Vi’s problem to fix, Caitlyn left, not her, but it was in Vi’s nature to try.
Vi rolls into her side, hovering a hand over Caitlyn’s shoulder, hesitation upon not seeing her face.
“Cait?”
Her hand finally connected, a pit in her stomach starting to form, but quickly melted away as Caitlyn looks at her.
Vi knew that look, and she knew Caitlyn enough to know that not all is lost.
Caitlyn couldn’t promise it today, tomorrow, or even a year from now.
But until that day comes, no more year long absences and no more drowning in the ‘what could’ve beens’ of the past, but someday, when things are less fucked up, and they’re able to give each other the versions of themselves they used to be, there will always be a home waiting for them.

hi hi hi!! can u write caitlin x reader based on good luck babe by chappell? but reader is the one with bf and caitlin is the one with a hopeless crush on her?
pls pls pls and thank u
good luck, babe!
caitlin clark x reader
warnings:straight reader for a min
being teammates with caitlin clark on the indiana fever was incredible. she was a superstar, both on and off the court, and quickly became your best friend when you joined the team. you clicked instantly—whether it was cracking jokes in the locker room or pushing each other to be better during practices, you two had a bond that went beyond just basketball. caitlin was someone you could rely on, and that meant the world to you.
but for caitlin, it was something more.
from the day she met you, caitlin felt that spark. it started as a crush, the kind you get when someone just captivates you. you were beautiful, smart, and a killer player. but then you became her best friend, and caitlin was stuck. she watched you with your boyfriend, always laughing, always happy—or at least, that’s what it looked like from the outside. you were straight, or so you believed, and caitlin knew she didn’t stand a chance. but she couldn’t help it—the way she felt about you only grew stronger, even though it killed her to see you with someone else.
the worst part was how often you talked to caitlin about him. about how you’d had a fight or how he wasn’t as attentive as he used to be. she wanted to scream every time, wanted to tell you that he didn’t deserve you, that she would treat you better, but she held back. after all, what could she do? you were in love with him—or at least, you thought you were.
“ugh, he’s being so distant lately,” you muttered after practice one day. you were sitting in the locker room next to caitlin, texting your boyfriend and frowning at the screen.
caitlin clenched her jaw, trying to keep her expression neutral. “maybe he’s just busy?” she offered, though she knew that wasn’t the real issue.
you sighed, putting your phone down. “i don’t know… sometimes it feels like we’re just going through the motions, you know? like, he’s there, but it doesn’t feel like he sees me anymore.”
caitlin bit her tongue, resisting the urge to say what was really on her mind. “you deserve someone who’s going to be there for you—really be there,” she said quietly, her voice laced with frustration. “someone who actually sees you.”
you smiled weakly at her, not catching the deeper meaning in her words. “thanks, cait. i don’t know what i’d do without you.”
she forced a smile, though inside, it felt like a knife twisting in her chest. she hated seeing you unhappy with him, but what could she do? you were straight. you weren’t going to leave your boyfriend for her, no matter how badly she wanted it.
but then, everything changed.
one night, after a tough game, the team went out to celebrate a hard-fought win. you had a few drinks—nothing too crazy—but enough to loosen up and relax after the stress of the game. caitlin was by your side, as always, laughing and joking with you. as the night wore on, the two of you ended up outside the bar, sitting on a bench, a little tipsy but still aware of what was happening.
you leaned your head on her shoulder, sighing contentedly. “i don’t know what i’d do without you,” you mumbled, the alcohol making you more affectionate than usual.
caitlin’s heart raced at the contact, but she tried to play it cool. “well, i’m not going anywhere,” she said softly, her hand resting on your knee.
you turned your head to look at her, your gaze lingering a little longer than it should have. something in her eyes made your stomach flutter, but you quickly brushed it off. it’s just caitlin, you told yourself. you’re straight. you have a boyfriend.
but then she leaned in, just a little, and suddenly, the air between you felt different.
“what are you staring at?” she teased, tossing you a wink, but her voice was softer, more intense than usual.
“nothing,” you teased back, grinning. “no big deal.”
she chuckled, but her eyes never left yours. “you know,” she began, her voice low, “i’ve been wanting to say something for a while, but i wasn’t sure how you’d take it.”
you frowned slightly, the playful mood shifting into something more serious. “what do you mean?”
caitlin swallowed hard, her heart pounding. this was it—the moment she’d been dreading, but also the moment she couldn’t hold back any longer. “i like you,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “i really like you.”
your breath caught in your throat, and you blinked, trying to process what she was saying. “caitlin… i have a boyfriend,” you stammered, though your voice sounded less convincing than you’d hoped.
“i know,” she said, her eyes locked on yours. “but i can’t help how i feel. and i don’t think you can either.”
you opened your mouth to protest, to say something, anything to push this away, but the words wouldn’t come. because deep down, you knew she was right. there was something between you—something you hadn’t let yourself acknowledge until now.
“i’ve never been with a girl,” you whispered, your heart racing.
caitlin smiled softly, her hand sliding up your thigh, sending shivers down your spine. “you don’t have to decide anything right now,” she murmured, her lips just inches from yours. “but i can’t pretend anymore.”
before you could think, before you could stop yourself, you closed the distance between you, pressing your lips to hers. the kiss was electric, like a spark had been ignited between you, and suddenly, everything made sense. it wasn’t your boyfriend who made you feel like this—it was caitlin. it had always been caitlin.
her hands slid up your back, pulling you closer as the kiss deepened, and you melted into her touch, your mind spinning. you’d never felt like this before, never wanted someone the way you wanted her.
when you finally pulled back, breathless, you stared at her in shock, your heart pounding in your chest. “what does this mean?” you whispered, your voice shaky.
caitlin’s lips curved into a small smile, her hand still resting on your thigh. “it means you’ve been with the wrong person all along.”

Celiac
McFoord x Child!R
Warnings: Vomiting, Celiac Disease A/N: Doesn't really have a plot and I don't like the ending, only short but at least it's something
“Ma, I don’t feel good,” you told her as your stomach cramped, you were sitting beside her as you watched some of the girls train, your Ma having a quick break.
“Oh Munchkin, do you think you’re getting a bug?” you shook your head, wrapping your arms around your stomach tighter, “what have you eaten today?” you listed off everything you’d eaten that day.
“Kyra, did you check the oats were gluten free?” your Ma asked the younger Australian, as you leaned your weight into your Ma’s side, stomach feeling worse by the second.
“Um, no, I thought they were, I’m sorry, I didn’t realise, I should’ve checked anyway just to make sure, I-” “It’s okay really, don’t worry, you didn’t do it on purpose and we know you tried your hardest, could you just tell Cait that Y/N/N is having an episode and to talk to Jonas, I’m just going to take her inside.” Your Ma asked the now guilty girl who nodded before quickly jogging off to your Mum.
-
“Hey Monkey, you not feeling well?” Your Mum spoke softly to you as she walked into the locker room, you just shook your head slightly in response to her, “Jonas said we were right to go home,” she told your Ma, from just a quick glance it was clear you were quite unwell. You were sitting in your Ma’s lap cured into a ball, her arms tightly wrapped around you, she rocked you slightly back and forth as she murmured comforting words to you, hating how there was nothing she could do to help you.
“I think the oats Kyra used in the Anzac Biscuits she made for us all weren’t actually gluten free, she felt really bad but I told her not to worry and that it wasn’t her fault, do you want to have a shower and then I will and we can take her home?” Your Mum nodded before quickly heading to the shower.
-
“That’s it Monkey, let it all out, hopefully it will make you feel better,” your Mum encouraged you as you were hunched over the toilet in the bathroom, stomach harshly ejecting it’s contents, you sat in her lap and she held your hair back with one hand while the other rubbed soft circles into your back.
“It’s okay, I’ve got you,” your Mum told you as you collapsed back into her, curling into a ball, pressing your side against her front. Your stomach was super bloated but also intensely cramping and you felt really tired.
“Do you think we should try your tablets? Maybe the anti-sick ones first and then you muscle ones?” she asked as her hand carded through your hair.
“P-please,” your voice answered barely above a whisper.
“Okay, let's just stay here until Ma comes out of her shower, I’ll message her to bring them to us,” she murmured into the top of your head before kissing it.
_______
Your Mum’s were quite thankful for their now quiet day, not realising how much they both needed it. Thankfully the anti-nausea meds had worked and you had only thrown up once. Your muscle relaxers helped a bit but you were still in a lot of pain and your stomach was still cramping quite badly. When you arrived home your Mum’s took you into their room, where you almost immediately fell asleep on your Mum. You had moved in your sleep and now you were sleeping on top of your Ma, hand clutching the fabric of your Mum’s shirt to make sure she stayed. They had a movie playing in the background as they organised some things, in the middle of a discussion about the Olympics and whether you would go on camp with your Mum or go and watch some games with your Ma when the doorbell rang. Your Mum pried your hands off of her shirt and quickly got up to find a guilty looking Kyra on the other side of the door when she opened it.
“Kyra? What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be at training?” Your Mum questioned her.
“I feel really bad about y/n/n, Jonas let me go early, I bought some things for her,” she told your Mum as she presented the gift basket to her.
“Thank you Kyra, that’s very kind of you, and honestly it’s not your fault, it was an accident, we understand.” Kyra nodded as she fiddled with the bottom of her hoodie, “you can see her if you want, she is currently asleep, and not very well, but I’m sure she won’t mind you coming to say hi,” the young Aussie nodded and followed your Mum through to where you were. You had woken up now, and Katie was helping you drink some water, you were still quite unwell, and looked like you were falling asleep sitting up.
“Monkey, Kyra came to see you,” your Mum told you as she walked into the room.
“Kyra?” you said groggily and she softly nodded her head, the younger girl stepped inside the room and sat down on the bed next to you, to which you climbed into her lap and fell asleep.

can we get something about Caitlin like after a big win of hers and her girlfriend is on court with Caitlin being all over her? think like Taylor swift and travis after the Super Bowl
Miss Americana & The HeartBreak Prince(ss) . CC
pairing: caitlin clark x reader
synopsis: even if caitlin’s the center of attention, she can’t help but focus on you
༶•┈┈୨♡୧┈┈•༶
caitlin had been preparing for this game for months, it felt. there seemed to be endless trainings, camps, and practices just to get her ready for this moment. of course, every game to caitlin was huge, but this? this game would mark the end of her collegiate career, would give her a championship title if iowa could pull it off.
and they did.
with a massive lead of 10 points, caitlin being the top scorer of the night. they had won effortlessly and earned the championship title.
you had watched from court side all night to see your girl play. you had been to every game to support her, but you typically resided farther into the crowd to stay reserved. but recently, with more and more attention falling on caitlin, you’ve become a major hit with the media. once caitlin became a well known basketball star, everyone was curious to know all about her life outside of the sport. this included the age old question: “who is she dating?”
very quickly, you were bombarded with attention. fans commented on her posts about you, interviewers asked her about her girlfriend, everyone wanted to know all about caitlin clark’s biggest cheerleader.
you really hadn’t minded all that much. the questions and inquires about you came across as sweet in your eyes, you were actually quite flattered that all these people wanted to get to know you. but even then it still had its downsides. upon caitlin’s managers request, you were to be in the eye of the public with caitlin as much as possible. this meant doing things like sitting court side for every game even if you didn’t particularly want to. caitlin, of course, loved the idea. she jumped at any opportunity to show you off and talk about you whenever she could. so to her, it was no problem.
once the game had ended, your hands red from clapping and cheeks sore from cheering, you watched as the team celebrated together. watching your girl hold that trophy with the biggest smile on her face was the most heartwarming thing. you let them have their moment before anxiously stepping onto the court to meet caitlin. perhaps it was the excitement from the win or maybe it was just the pure eagerness to see her, but you were practically running across the court to get to her.
“cait!” you shouted from a distance, trying to catch her attention from across the floor.
she spotted you in a split second. caitlin would recognize your voice from anywhere. quickly, she handed the trophy off to someone else, excusing herself from the conversation to go over to you. you met half way, caitlin scooping you up into her arms causing you to balance on your tip toes. her arms locked around you, nose burying itself into the crook of your neck, taking in your scent.
“hey baby” her lips curled into a smile that you could feel again your jawline.
“you were absolutely amazing” you maneuvered to take her face into your hands, admiring her face. sweat and messy hair included, she looked so radiant and beautiful. you pushed up the bill of her championship hat and brushed stray hairs away, allowing yourself to take in her full appearance. “I’ve never been so proud of someone in my life!”
“you don-” she wanted to protest humbly, but was rudely interrupted.
it was like a swarm of bees. interviewers and cameramen surrounded you, lights flashing and microphones being shoved into your faces. many of them were shouting incoherent questions all while trying to grab your attention. your sweet moment was ruined, it was time to face the crowd.
“caitlin, tell us about your big win!”
“is this your girlfriend? caitlin, over here!”
“the fans want to hear from the new it couple!”
they were all shouting, trying to get an ounce of attention from her. you could tell by the look on her face that she just wanted to ask them to leave, but you also knew she would rather endure the exhausting interviews than tell anyone ‘no’. so she swung her arm around your shoulder, causing you to stumble into her side, to keep you close to her.
“it was a really great game…” she began talking about the game, all the interviewers listening attentively.
caitlin spent quite a bit of time giving run downs and talking strategies for the game, letting people ask her questions about what it felt like to be in the spotlight. the whole time, though, her arms never left you. she would occasionally rub your arm to ease the anxiety of having all the cameras on you, maybe sometimes move down to your waist just to pull you in even closer.
you sort of zoned out, putting yourself in autopilot to avoid panicking over the lights and shouting journalists. nothing caitlin said to any one of them you really heard, but somewhere in the sea of questions, you heard your name.
“and who’s this here with you? is this YN?”
suddenly, you were back in the game, completely engaged in the conversation. you looked over to see caitlin smiling down at you with the most goofy grin.
“yea,” she said “yea this is my girlfriend, YN”
you looked out into the vastness of the cameras, all of them pointing at you, as you proffered a small smile. it was still a process, getting used to being the center of all the madness.
caitlin continued before anyone could ask you something, knowing you weren’t ready to answer any questions quite yet.
“she’s the one i owe all this to,” her arm squeezed you, reminding you to take a deep breath and relax “she’s by my side day and night, giving me all of her support. i wouldn’t be anywhere without her so for that, i dedicate this win to her”
leaning down closer to your level, caitlin’s hand cradled your jaw to pull you in for a gentle kiss. it caught you off guard realizing that she was openly being intimate with you in front of everyone. but you trusted her judgment, letting yourself relax into the kiss.
of course, everyone went crazy, all happy that they had media coverage of the popular couple.
this was going to be all over instagram tomorrow.
after a few more questions and a several pictures of you two standing side by side, they dispersed to pester some other players. it was finally just the you and caitlin again, able to have a moment to yourselves.
“getting a bit risky with that kiss, huh?” you draped your arms over her shoulders.
“had to let everyone know how much i love you s’all” she shrugged, pressing another delicate kiss to your forehead. “i’d never pass up an opportunity to show you off, you know that”
“i do” you said, smiling at her. despite all the chaos around you, people still buzzing with excitement, confetti still lingering in the air, endless fans, it still felt like just you. just you and caitlin immersed in each other. “i love you so much”
“i love you a thousand times more”

The girlfriend scarer
Leah Williamson x McCabe!Reader
summary~ Katie’s your big sister and she takes her role very serious. She’s scaring off any girlfriend you bring home. When the one and only Leah Williamson asks you out, you couldn’t resist.
Your sister had always been protective over you, even more since you’ve moved to London to play for the same red club she’s been playing for. You are younger than her and just turned twenty when you moved away from home and to rainy England. Katie knows how it is to be young and to move away from home like that, she wanted to help you in every way she could.
The first month she insisted you’d stay with her (and Caitlin). She drove you to and from training and if you went out, which you rarely did because who did you know other than your teammates, she had your location just for safety reasons.
Katie’s just like that. When you had your first girlfriend she almost ran away because of your sister. They met at Christmas dinner and Katie had a not so nice first conversation with her. “I don’t care who you are but if you hurt her i promise you i’ll hurt you much and much more.” Katie told her after your dad had already told her some scary shit.
So it wasn’t a surprise when she left you a week later. Her reasoning was that she ‘wasn’t ready for a relationship yet’. Katie comforted you when she heard what had happened. She would be lying if she said she wasn’t atleast a bit happy she’d broken up with you. You didn’t deserve to be broken up with but that girl seemed like a player and it was better that you’d broken up now rather than later when the feelings were much more complicated.
Over the years you had a few girlfriends but the relationship was never long and important enough to introduce them to your sister. And maybe you didn’t because you already knew what would happen. If Katie got to them they wouldn’t return back to you. You knew Katie didn’t mean it in a bad way but it does seem that way sometimes, doesn’t she want to see you happy?
So when Leah asked you out after a few weeks of being a part of the squad you said yes. You had your eye on her for a long time now, how could you not. Leah was sweet and your sister spoke highly of her.
Leah had invited you over to her house and since you were still staying with Katie and Caitlin you had to come up with a little white lie, it wasn’t really a lie anyway. “Katie, Cait, i’m going to a friend of mine, bye!” you yelled after turning your location off. Katie might check your location so better safe than sorry.
When you walked up to Leah’s front door you checked yourself in your phone camera and fixed your hair up. God what are you doing? Dating behind Katie’s back and it’s her teammate and one of her bestfriends as well. You knew that this wasn’t gonna end well, how could it.
You were still deep in thought, looking at the chocolate bar in your hands when the door opened, revealing a grinning Leah. “You’ve been standing here for quite a while now. Are you gonna come in and share the chocolate or are you gonna stand there the whole evening?” the blonde asked laughing.
You walked inside and handed her the sweet bar you bought her. “Thought you’d like something chocolatey.” you smiled walking over to her couch where there were already a few snack waiting. “You know i like sweet things.” Leah winked at you.
Leah was a real charmer and that’s how she stole a kiss that evening. “You’re a good captain and teammate you know.” you told her smiling sheepishly. She chuckled and laid her hand on your thigh, “Only a good captain and teammate? I think i’m even a better kisser.”. You chuckled at her comment. “Are you laughing at me! I really am but i guess you’ll never know hm?” she said jokingly offended. The defenders eyes fell onto your lips and back to your eyes again. Leah took your chin into her hands and leaned in to kiss you, you let her and kissed her back.
“I guess you’re an alright kisser.” you said blushing. “Only alright? I guess i’ll have to kiss you again then.” Leah joked and pecked your lips once again.
Leah and you have been going on dates for a little over two months now. You weren’t official yet but you’d really like to. But then you’ll have to tell Katie, now that things weren’t that serious she didn’t have to know you told yourself.
It got harder to hide things from Katie now. You’d go on dates a few times a week and saying that you were going to the gym or having drinks with friends wasn’t good enough of an excuse anymore. So that’s why you decided to move out. You needed your own space, somewhere you could invite Leah over and not have to worry about who’s home.
Katie had her suspicions but kept them to herself (and Caitlin). She helped you move your things and even offered to set up your new furniture. She was horrible at things like that so you thanked her but sent her home later that evening.
You rang your ‘situationship’ and asked her to come over for dinner. Leah arrived with two pizza boxes and a bottle of red wine. “It’s our cheatday, we can enjoy a bit of fastfood.” she defended her foodchoice.
You gave her a little apartment tour and ended it in the kitchen, leaning on the kitchen island. “Now that i’ve got my own space you can come over more and we don’t have to sneak around so much.” you whispered, kissing her on the lips. Leah’s hand placed themselves on your hips and she hummed, “hmm i love that, baby. How about we make this official, us?” she asked you hopefully.
You leaned back and looked her in her blue eyes. “I’d love to Lee, you know that. I just don’t know what to do with Katie.” you told her. Leah sighed and nodded. “I know, we’ll tell her eventually but for now let’s just keep this all to ourselves, girlfriend.” she smiled proudly.

When you were training you tried to keep things as normal as before. Vic, Kyra, Less and you were joking around on the pitch as always when your dating life became the topic of conversation.
“You’ve been smiling more since you’ve been having all these plans and no more time for us McCabe.” Less laughed. “Got yourself a girlfriend?” Kyra joked. You rolled your eyes, trying to hide the blush creeping up on your face. “Don’t know what you’re talking about, crazy girls!” you dismissed. But the trio looked at eachother and burst out in laughter, “Oh my god! Little McCabe has a secret girlfriend!” Victoria yelled. “Shhhh! Jesus why’d you have to yell man!” you scolded the three of them. Even though you were the youngest of them all it seemed like they were atleast ten years younger.
“Wait you really really have a girlfriend? We were only joking mate.” Kyra said with wide eyes. “What’s big McCabe gonna say about her little sister dating..” Vicky jokingly pushed you. “Please don’t say anything to her.” you asked them with pleading eyes.
Lessi passed the ball to you, “Don’t worry we won’t but who is she? Give us a hint.”. You sighed, you knew that you were gonna have to give them a little hint to get off the hook. “Is she on the team?” Kyra asked curiously. “Uh- yeah i guess yes.” you said passing the ball to Kyra.
You looked in Lessi’s direction, watching Leah shoot on goal. Alessia turned around, looking at what caught your attention. “Oh my god! No fucking way!” the blonde scream whispered. The other two girls looked in Alessia’s direction and saw what she had seen. “Leah is your girlfriend?” Kyra more stated than asked. “Oh my god, i don’t even know who Katie’s gonna kill now, you or Leah?” Victoria thought out loud. “Probably both.” Lessi answered her.
“Fuck, i’ve messed up haven’t i?” you sighed shooting the ball way too hard. The three girls all nodded, “Yeah, good luck.” Kyra offered you a kind smile.
Leah asked you to spend a weekend with her, out of London. You eagerly accepted, running away from your problems? Sounds perfect!
The England captain had booked a hotel in Brighton. Everything was perfect, your girlfriend had all kinds of activities planned but most took place in your hotelroom.

You hadn’t thought about telling your sister about your relationship all weekend, well until now.

so your girlfriend.
you
yeah
anger issues <3
what’s her name? when are we meeting? how long has this been going on? do i know her?
you
i’ll tell you when i’m back Katie, just don’t be mad please
anger issues <3
Why didn’t you tell me
You didn’t tell Leah, she’d only worry more about it. The blonde took you to play a bit of football. You had a few days off but you both knew that you didn’t actually had vacation. You had to stay fit, especially now Leah had just returned from her ACL.
leahwilliamsonn posted on their story
After Leah posted her story, hell broke loose. Katie knew you were with your girlfriend, she also knew that Leah was a weekend away. What she didn’t expect was to open Instagram and see you on Leah’s story. Leah was the girl you were with, Leah was your girlfriend. Katie had connected all the dots.
When Leah and you got back to your room her phone buzzed a few times and eventually she got called. Katie was calling her. Leah asked you what she would call her for but you shrugged and the blonde picked up.
“Fucking Leah Williamson you’ve been shagging my little sister!” Katie yelled through the phone, her Irish accent sounding thick. Leah looked over at you, panic all over her face. “Katie mate, i don’t know what you’re ta-“ she tried before the was cut off by a swearing Katie. “Don’t fucking lie to me. How long?” Katie asked. Leah was silent for a moment “How fucking long Williamson!” your sister repeated herself. “About three months.” the blonde sighed into the phone.
You could feel Katie shaking her head over the phone. “Fuckin’ hell mate. How did you not tell me. I don’t really want to talk to the two of you right now, i’ll talk to you later…” Katie said before hanging up.
You knew Katie was hurt but you also knew that if you’d told her earlier on she wouldn’t have a great reaction either.
Both you and Leah knew it was time to tell Katie either way. Your girlfriend drove you to Katie’s apartment, you’d bought her a box of chocolates in the hopes that she’ll forgive you sooner. Knocking on the door Leah grabbed your hand, feeling your nervousness. She kissed you on top of your head and assured you everything would be fine. “The secret’s out, she wants you to be happy. Only i will get murdered.” Leah tried to lighten the mood.
Katie opened the door and silently allowed you inside. The three of you were sitting on the couch with still no word spoken.
You broke the silence “Katie, i’m really sorry i hurt you but i just didn’t want you to react the way you always do.”. Katie looked at you and scoffed, “What do you even mean ‘react the way you always do’?”.
You rolled your eyes at her. “Katie you scare off any girl i bring home, the first few times i didn’t know why they’d break up with me but then i did the math and they always broke up with me after they’d met you. I get that you mean it good and you know, things like that but it’s not okay. I didn’t want you to be like with Leah.” you explained. “I don’t scare all of your girlfriends off, they’re just… soft.” Katie grinned as she defended herself.
Leah rolled her eyes at the brunette and spoke up. “Mate, i would’ve been dead by now if you hadn’t found out over the phone.” your girlfriend said shuddering at the thought of what your sister had said over the phone. “Okay yeah yeah whatever. Who knew about this already?” Katie asked trying to have another conversation topic.
“Lia and Steph” “Lessi, Ky and Vic” Leah and you said at the same time. Leah looked at you with a raised brow. “They tricked me into telling them!” you yelled, “Besides, you told Lia and Steph!”. Leah tried to argue but Katie interrupted her. “So basically the whole team knew, except me.” your sister said suspiciously calm. You and your girlfriend smile guiltily at her.

You stayed the night at Leah’s and she drove you to London Colney. Walking into the training centre the girls were already singing Strawberry kisses in the gym. The two of you walked hand in hand and when Jen saw that she yelled “Look who finally told scary McCabe!”.
When you kissed Leah on the lips after training you heard all kinds off ‘whoos’ and ‘oeeehhs’ around the room. Leah and you walked out of the training centre but Leah got pulled back by your sister. “Can i talk to you for a minute?” she asked Leah.
The two of them walked back into the centre and Katie spoke again. “So i guess my little sister wouldn’t appreciate this but you know, i need to. If you ever hurt her feelings or think about hurting her in any shape or form, i’m gonna hurt you. And don’t think i won’t just because you’re my friend and captain alright?” Katie said trying to intimidate Leah. “All clear mate.” Leah spoke tapping your sister on her shoulder. “Okay so now i’ve done my part , i know you make her happy and you love her. I love you both very much and i guess you’d be an alright sister in law.” Katie joked before bringing Leah in for a hug.

Dating Leah had it’s perks, she drove you to training every day, made sure you were on time, she was the captain and was the perfect model for all your photos. And the biggest positive, Katie and your girlfriend got along which was the first time Katie got along with any of your girlfriends.
The teasing however never stopped. Kyra called you a simp and gagged whenever you and Leah showed any physical affection to eachother. Vic laughed every time you tripped over your feet when looking at Leah flexing her muscles in the gym. You thought that Lessi would have some sympathy but she was just as bad, joking about your love eyes and how you were such a softy now.
Katie was just like always, protective but on a distance. Leah was there to protect you now.

sickness strikes onces more II c.foord x k.mccabe
summary: you wake up sick this morning but you get taken care of ★ sickness strikes once more II k.mccabe x c.foord
you hadn't woken up feeling well this morning. it was something you couldn't quite figure out, but you could feel your face burning and your body ache from head to toe as you sat up in bed.
you tried to convince yourself that you were fine, mam says to mummy all the time that she is not feeling good and that her legs are sore, so why would are you any different? in fact you're exactly like your mam so why should you get an off day? mam never has an off day.
the night before you had felt your tummy begin to become a little sore, but you shrugged it off as something you maybe didn't like that you ate, although when you felt the ache spread to your head you decided that you might have been a little dehydrated.
your mothers probably should have seen the tell tale signs that you were coming up with a little bug the previous night, but the two of them were so engrossed in preparing for the upcoming match that they had missed the way you pushed your dinner plate away in pain, or the absence of you trying to convince them to let you go to bed later.
you groaned when you heard the birds outside chirp obnoxiously, it was unlike any other day because usually you would jump out of bed to watch them out the window, but you couldn't bring yourself to even cover your ears this morning.
"cheeky? are you feeling alright?" your mummy asked you, eyeing you suspiciously as you hadn't even noticed her enter your bedroom, only looking up when you felt her hand rest against your quickly fevering forehead.
"hot." you mumbled and caitlin would have missed it if she wasn't looking at you so worriedly. "oh cheeky." she frowned, brushing the loose strands of sweaty hair out of your face. you see the troubled look replace your mam's bright smile when she approaches you.
"what's wrong baby girl? you feeling okay?" her finger swiping away a few tears that you hadn't even noticed slide down your usually happy face. your head was pounding, your face felt hot and sticky, and you could feel the sweat connecting uncomfortably from your pyjamas to your skin.
"cheeky your foreheads burning up." katie says as she peels off your winter socks and pulls up your pyjama pants. your boiling up so fast that somehow your top has ridden up, your stomach heating up and turning a warm peach colour.
caitlin and katie share a look over your quickly heating up body. you had only been to preschool three days this week, but it's winter now and they pawn it off as a bug you had caught from another kid in your class that probably went in with small symptoms their parents hadn't worried too much about.
you're pretty out of it, and you’re not entirely sure what’s happening around you. the room feels like it’s spinning slightly, and the presence of your mother's hands swiping the small layer of sweat off your forehead is the only thing grounding you.
the cool air against your feverish skin only providing a brief moment of relief from the hot flush running up your spine.
by now you've settled down from the hyper aware child you were when your mumma came in to get you for preschool and you're content enough to let katie feed you the medicine she had run downstairs to retrieve.
"here, this should be a bit cooler cait."
she says, offering a small smile that doesn't quite reach her worried eyes. she hands the top to caitlin who nods as she helps you sit up and carefully peels off your top, replacing it with a lighter singlet she had gotten from the cupboard. it feels like her nature to take care of all your needs when she knows you aren't feeling well, but she can't help but worry because you rarely ever get ill.
your mam is already back in her bathroom, getting more medicine that she would be strictly giving to you at every hour, waiting for a small sneeze from your little body to drop everything and nurse you back to health.
"how about some water, sweetheart?" your mumma asks, already reaching for the glass on your bedside table. you nod weakly, and she helps you take a few small sips, the cool liquid soothing your dry hoarse throat.
katie sits down on the bed beside you, her hand resting on your arm, gently rubbing small circles into the flushed skin. "we should have noticed sooner," she murmurs, more to herself than to anyone else because your still distracted by the tickle in your throat. "i'm sorry, baby girl."
you lean into her hand, seeking comfort of having your skin on hers. "it's okay, mam," you manage to say, your voice barely above a whisper. "i should have told you sooner i wasn't feeling good."
as you settle back against your pillows, your mothers fussing around you, you can feel the ache in your body starting to subside just a bit. the care they're showering you with makes you feel a little better, even though you’re still feeling quite miserable.
you manage a small smile, feeling grateful for how your mothers have taken care of you, even when they have training which they haven't yet called in to miss yet. "thank you," you whisper, your voice a little stronger now.
caitlin leans down and kisses your forehead, her smile warm and relieved. "anything for you, cheeky. always.

Just something short and sweet for Hancock.
Warnings! Drug use and withdrawls symptoms. Puking and the like. Reader comforts John. He's so in love. Hurt/comfort
Pairings! John Hancock x Reader
Masterlist
You know something is wrong with John when he has to stop for the third time that day to upchuck what little he's eaten. You stand off to the side after the ghoul had made it known that he didn't want your help right now. He had snapped at you to shove off, and you had, even if your concern now battled with hurt.
You're still wracking your brain on what could even make a ghoul so sick when you suddenly recall that you can't remember the last time Hancock had stopped for a short chem break. It's been at least a few days, you think, and your concern blooms into worry.
"John," you say and step close to his side. He leans on you without thinking, and you easily take his willowy weight, "When was the last time you had any jet? Or even a mentat?"
John spits to the side and takes a deep breath as he fights through how badly his stomach is cramping and the raging headache that threatens to send him to the ground. The world spins, so he closes his black eyes again.
"Dunno. Couple days, at least," He coughs again and opens his eyes, forcing himself to meet your gaze with an uneasy smile, "Sorry if I got any on ya, Sunshine."
"So you are going through withdrawals," you say, and John tenses under your hand. You grab his face, tilting his chin down to meet your unhappy gaze, "Why?"
If Hancock could blush, he would even with how bad he feels. It still amazed him that someone who was so pure as you wanted anything to do with someone damaged like him. He wanted to be better for you. You were his everything, after all.
"I heard you talkin' with Nick the other day," Hancock admits, and his shoulder draw up, an embarrassed tilt to his voice, "I want to be around for as long as I can, baby. So I thought the best choice was to stop my habit."
You cast your mind back to the conversation he's referring to, and shake your head with a sigh.
"Baby. I wasn't talking about you. Nick and I were talking about Cait," you say and grip his jaw when he tries to look away from you. You lean up and kiss him, and Hancock feels his heart clench in his chest, "If chems were the thing that killed you, you'd already be dead."
Despite the grim, harsh words, they weirdly make John feel better. And it felt good to know that his lover and best friend hadn't been talking behind his back about his chem addiction. His shoulders slump, and his shaky hands come up to grip your waist tightly. Hancock can't understand how he'd gotten so lucky.
"Maybe I shouldn't have assumed, huh, Sunshine?" John rasps, and you roll your eyes at his embarrassed grin and kiss him again. The ghoul drops a hand to fish into his pocket and pulls out a tin of mentats. He pops two into his mouth and sighs in pleasure when the chalky tablets melt under his tongue.
You meet his gaze with a content smile, happy to see the almost instant relief in Hancock's black eyes. Then scowl up at him, "You shouldn't have. We're a team, John. Remember that."
Hancock smirks, pocketing the metal tin. He drops his hand back to your hips as everything comes into sharp focus. John digs his thumbs into your sides and dips to press his lips to your brow.
"Yeah. I'm sorry, love. No more secrets," He murmurs softly. That's a promise John can keep.

NOT PROOFREAD!!!!
22 years. you and kate have been friends for 22 fucking years, and she hasn’t picked up yet. your very obvious feelings for her are starting to fade the more she’s been avoiding them. it sucks so fucking much.
these stupid feelings started when both of you ended up at the same university and the same dorm. you never saw kate in that light. she was your mom’s best friend’s kid, and the rest was history. you played tackle football with her when she had nobody else to play with, practiced basketball with her. you two were practically attached to the hip. the same elementary, middle school, highschool, and the same damn college.
it wasn’t like you could just leave too. the scholarship you were offered for soccer was totally worth the taking, and you couldn’t leave behind the team either. the first few times you gained feelings for kate was when you were in middle school. ‘experimenting’ with your feelings. well, that was your guys’ excuse after you two losers got caught by her mom. after that it was just dating stupid boys to get your head out of it and your head off of kate. thankfully, she was trying to do the same exact solution. you knew a lot about her.
but the one thing you didn’t know was that she felt the exact same. she was just too scared to say it. its not like she wants to lose a 22 year friendship over her uncontrollable feelings. first thing she did was go to caitlin, and she was practically freaking the hell out over it. cait was definitely the anchor between the both of you. helping you with accidental arguments so you didn’t lose kate, helping you out with what to say when she was upset. it was good having someone like that, but it was so incredibly stressful having to consistently ask for some sort of advice.
eventually you were tired of it. tired of waiting for something to happen. waiting for a move to be made by kate or maybe just a few little hints that kept you going. although you couldn’t anymore. it was draining, like someone who didn’t realize what you felt about them. you told caitlin everything after that reality set in for you. it was the blinding of your feelings that let everything slip through your mind and basically fly over your head. how could you be so naive to believe that she did and you were just trying hard for nothing in return. it was dumb, and you knew that much.
one night after a long day of testing and practice, you stumble your way into your dorm, the door locked and a frown crossing your face. the keys were in your stupid locker. “open the door, please..” you murmur, voice tired and confused. you bring your fist up to the door and knock softly, the sound of the lock clicking and the door creaking open. “jeez. soccer must’ve been a pain in the ass. you look like shit.” kate laughs, grabbing your arm gently to stable your body. letting out a heavy huff of breath, you lean slightly into her and drop your arms to your sides. “tell me about it.” she smiles and hoists you up carefully, locking the door and bringing you to the living room.
the moment your butt hits the couch cushion you let out a soft sigh and look at kate, her big stupid and soft eyes locking onto yours. the corners of your lips curl up slightly and you snicker, raising your eyebrows. “do you really wanna know? cause its a stupid story.” you exaggerate and rub the back of your neck. kate takes the spot next to you and nods continuously, her head leaning onto your shoulder. “trust me, dude. i wanna hear it.”
“kay, well… coach dilanni was being a total douche about what i wanted to practice. i mean, its fucking practice for a reason. i’m supposed to practice what i need to practice! not what he wants me to practice.” your voice gets a little low and you start to slur out your words. the repeated words and slow murmurs make her laugh a little, her arm hooking around your neck and bringing your head towards hers. “and he gave me so much attitude. like, the more i tried to defend myself the more he spoke over me. the old head was thinking about benching me during the champ game!!!” you blurt out and let out a groan.
she starts to realize just how tired you are and pouts, her head moving away, and her hands cupping your face. your head involuntarily moves to stare at hers, your eyes half open, your lips pursed slightly, and your head dropped down a little. “he looks like a nice old guy but deep down that man has some serious problems,” you grumble. “and don’t even get me started on the tests i had to take.” kate’s eyebrows raise and her face stills for a moment when you bury your face deep into her neck. your breath tickles at her skin and she feels shivers running up and down her back. you’re so tired you don’t even realize what you’re doing.
“y/n…” she breathes out heavily and you hear her swallow down whatever she needs to say. your head pulls out and you look at her with big eyes too, just like how she did earlier. water forms in your ducts as you try to fight off the sleepiness, but the way kate is looking at you makes it hard to get off of her. “hm?” you hum and drop your head against her shoulder. “never mind, okay.” her voice drops too and softens a bit, a familiar heat rushing up to your face when she runs her fingers up and down your back.
the warmth of her body and the relief you feel when you hear her voice makes your head spin like crazy. its like she knows what you feel about her and is just doing this to mess with you. the second your eyes shut, kate sucks in a sharp breath in through her teeth and practically manhandles you. gently, of course. but shes picked you up like a damn baby and you don’t have the slightest intention of stopping her from doing it.
your stomach spins and churns awkwardly from the contact. you’ve known kate all your life, but right now it feels like you just saw her on campus for the first time. after you got that news you guys shared a room together. you suddenly get the reminder of your feelings for her, like a shit ton of fireworks igniting in your stomach. more so reigniting. she brushes her fingers up against your face to move a few strands of hair from it.
kate likes you. she really fucking does, and its just the fact that she can’t spit it out no matter how much she wants to. no matter how much she wants to scream it from the rooftop and tell the whole world about how she feels. she thinks you’re the prettiest girl she’s ever seen and she has that gut feeling where she believes that you feel the same way. she isn’t stupid but shes smitten and that’s blinding her as well. just like how it did to you.
“y’know how we’ve been friends for like.. a bajillion years?” she laughs nervously and curls her lips downwards a bit. you know that shes nervous and its starting to make you nervous too. you’re starting to sweat a little underneath your shirt and you can somehow feel it under your skin. “yeah, why?” you ask and open your eyes to look at her face. its all red, her eyes open wide with anxiety, and her mouth slightly parted.
“okay, listen to me and don’t freak out… please.” kate squeaks out and moves her hands away from you. her reactions and jitters cause you to sit up and watch her every move just to make sure she really doesn’t start to freak. theres a feeling in your stomach that can’t really be put into words. it’s that feeling where you wanna throw up because of your nerves and the wanna jump off a bridge before you hear what she says. “i won’t go crazy, you idiot. what’s wrong with you?” you ask with a little chuckle but it quickly fades away when you realize what she’s about to say.
you’re not feeling this because you’re embarrassed of what she’s feeling. you’re just nervous and not used to it. at least thats what you’re telling yourself. there’s a little voice in your head repeatedly telling you to “calm the fuck down!” and it isn’t really helping. your brain is fried from the tiredness you feel too, but this seems really important. “nothing is wrong with me, i just dunno.. need to tell you something before its too late.” she whispers and tilts her head to the side a little, figuring out how she has to say it and if she really should let you know. now that she’s declared that she needs to say this little thing before its ‘too late’ confirms everything you need to know.
“this probably sounds stupid and dumb and i’m going to sound like the biggest loser in the world,” she starts, her voice cracking and her face contorting in different ways you’ve never seen before. in all the years you’ve know kate, shes never been so anxious and nervous about something like this before. its kinda scary. “but i think i’m like.. really in love with you.” she stumbles over her words and buries her face into her hands. it takes you a moment to process what she says as the sleepiness corrupts your mind. “i’m sorry, what?” you mutter.
“i said i like you!!!” kate blurts out and you watch her face turn the reddest you’ve ever seen it. you’ve been with her for almost all of her relationships and this is the first time her face has ever looked like that. her previous partners have never had her like this, they’ve never had her the way you have, and you’re realizing that just now. “oh.” you gulp. the words you’ve been waiting to hear for more than half of your life have finally been said, and it is the greatest relief you’ve ever felt in your life. and everything makes sense now.
the way kate brushes up against you in the halls, the fact she always walks you to your classes no matter how far hers is from it, her taking you to soccer practice, her watching your games like how you watch her, and the fact that you are the reason she blushes like she’s embarrassed herself. although she hasn’t, she’s just so into you, and nothing is gonna change the way she feels. “‘oh?’ is that it?” kate spits out and starts to panic a little. after she’s just admitted, she’s expected something different from you. maybe the same thing? she doesn’t know what she was expecting, it just wasn’t that.
your eyes widen and your face grows redder the longer you stare at her and when your tiny tired peabrain registers that she reciprocates what you feel. “no! that’s not it, stupid, i like you too!” you blurt out as well and push her shoulders. kate has a look of something on her face. you can’t tell what it is but she seems happy about what you said, and that makes your emotions explode. “okay, you know what? i love you, actually! i love you, i love you, i love you!!!!!!!!” you stutter out a bunch of times. years and years of hoping and waiting that she’ll finally do something comes to a stop. “i have my whole damn life.” you murmur, catching your breath slightly from the continuous shouting of your feelings at her. the burning and churning in your stomach goes away and is replaced with a certain sense of relief. a relief that you haven’t felt in ages.
“oh so, you’re serious, serious?”
“yes, okay. i’m not joking, like i meant everything.”
“say you swear or i won’t believe one word you say.”
“i swear on coach dilanni’s life.” you giggle, fingers threading through kate’s blonde strands. her head is propped up on your chest and her eyes are slightly open. you two have been sitting there for about ten minutes, talking about why or how you even got these stupid little feelings for each other. but none of you are complaining. matter of fact, you’re both on the verge of falling asleep but the presence from each other makes you both wanna stay up all damn night if you could.
“he’s not gonna like that...” she murmurs, voice soft and slurring a bit. kate wraps her arms tight around your waist, her head moving into a more comfortable position. your hands are all over the place and you’re basically just messing up her hair, one of her eyes closing when a few strands get in her face. “you have no idea what you’re doing, huh?” her lips turn into that smile you know all too well now, and her eyes closing completely. a yawn escapes from in between your lips and she hears it, snapping her head upwards, that smile turning into a smirk.
“kiss me.”
and you do.

wet n' wild, caitlyn kiramman x maid!reader
cw: cait is kinda mean and likes hurting you
"shut up... shut up and take it."
caitlyn was being quite mean to you, and she knew that, but your feelings weren't at the forefront of her worries at the moment. after getting into yet another argument with her mother, she just needed a means of releasing all of her pent up anger (and maybe some revenge for all the stress her mother's stubbornness had caused her).
and what better way to do that than to fuck one of their maids in her mother's study, on her very own desk, at that?
caitlyn took a moment to observe your current state. after being given three very intense orgasms back to back, you appeared visibly out of it; your eyes could barely focus, and tiny whimpers escaped your lips with each deep breath you took as you tried to catch your breath. caitlyn bit her lip at the sight of the bite marks that were scattered throughout your form, the one on your neck even bleeding from a bite that went a bit deeper than expected.
maybe if you were her lover, she'd feel bad for treating you like nothing but a ragdoll, but you were not her lover, were you?
she curled the three fingers that she had lodged deep into your abused cunt, and you cried out in response, your back arching and your hands desperately searching for something to hold on to.
caitlyn roughly grabbed your neck, squeezing as if she was trying to get you to pop. "i told you to shut up, didn't i?" she grumbled. "it's almost like you want the other servants to hear us..."
you whined, shaking your head despite her unrelenting grip. she let go, opting to cover your mouth with her hand instead.
"then do as i say, and fucking take it."
her thrusts were deep, and she made sure to hit your g-spot each time her long fingers were buried to the hilt. she knew she was doing a good job, too; each thrust forced a muffled, yet delicious moan out of you, and your legs tightened around her waist like a fucking lifeline.
caitlyn relished in this imbalance of power she had over you. she wasn't sure when this kink had developed, but she sure as hell wasn't complaining about it, either. she bent down to take one of your nipples into her mouth, sucking on it harshly before biting. your body jerked, a muted cry ripping from your throat. tears welled up in your eyes, flowing down the sides of your face and onto the desk below you.
"aww, did that hurt?" she cooed mockingly as she lifted herself off of you. you nodded with a sniffle, and caitlyn couldn't help but find your teary-eyed expression adorable.
"oh, well that's quite a shame, isn't it?" she continued. "you and i both know you've been enjoying the pain thus far, don't suddenly change your mind now."
and with that, she began pounding into you, her deft fingers stretching you out and no doubt sending waves of burning pleasure throughout your body. your eyes rolled to the back of your head, and you clawed at caitlyn's forearm, your nails digging angry lines into her skin.
"what's the matter, are you cumming again?" she smirked.
you rapidly shook your head, a slight panic evident in your eyes.
no?
before caitlyn could react, the floodgates burst, and a powerful stream of clear fluid shot out from within you; you ended up drenching caitlyn's forearm and outfit.
"what the fuck?!" caitlyn exclaimed, quickly pulling away from you in shock.
you whimpered, and she watched in silent confusion as you sat up to study the area around you. realizing what had just occurred, you pouted in embarrassment.
"oh... i-i've made such a mess..."
it was a blur, the way caitlyn found herself surging towards you and mashing her lips against yours for a kiss. she grabbed your throat harshly, biting down on your bottom lip as she let out a throaty hum.
"that was so fucking hot," she growled salaciously as she lowered you onto the desk once more. "let's see how many more times i can get you to do that..."
a/n: teehee first arcane post! thx for reading, and tell me what you think! :D

Interesting that vis bio changed after arcane and now has this instead of her just wanting to catch jinx and beat the shit out of her.
Now I'm theorizing on how this could happen. Jinx is wanted for a lot of terrible things so it'd be right to want to turn her in. But at the same time, there's also a theme I wanna bring up in vis promo poster
"Its too late to point the finger now"
Judging by the fight we see in the trailer and vi saying that her sister is gone, vi does try to capture her and is definitely angry with her for what she's done considering theyre literally fighting atp. But another theme in arcane this season is forgiveness, and the big question is can a monster be forgiven.
Jinx is literally looking out for her here, apparently even having tears in her eyes seeing vi in this state. So if jinx is the one that helps her, that could open the door to the theme of forgiveness and redemption. Especially considering this is one of vis darkest times.
But what's any of that shit have to do with pointing fingers??? Glad u asked ma boi
Once again judging by the trailer it seems like one, Cait is working with ambessa, two martial law has gone into effect, and three, ambessa and noxus turn on piltover at some point. Cait has been working with an expansionist leader and it looks like it could have backfired at some point. Everyone has done something wrong atp, that's even alluded to in the caption on Arcane France's promo of vis poster
Jinx is possibly redeeming herself while cait is possibly becoming an oppressor. Vi can hardly point fingers at jinx atp. Which brings me to my final point
This is definitely an act 3 vi. Coming back in different attire and with her badge, joining the fight against noxus with ekko from the looks of it. Vi and ekko probably have to save Piltover from caitlyns mistake of working with ambessa (and considering arcane is a backstory on how each character got to where they are, this might be vis entrance into becoming THE Piltover enforcer. Piltovers protector), and maybe out of guilt cait realizes that she herself can't point fingers at jinx when she let things get this bad, so she drops her vendetta against jinx at vis request and vi is left with the task of trying to help jinx, whatever that may look like. Maybe it's something discussed between them in private since it is still vis job to capture her, but maybe cait gives her some leeway after everything that's happened and vi just tries to keep jinx out of trouble.

In Your Head (And Out Of Your Heart) (Steph Catley x Caitlin Foord x Reader)
A/n requested
Also, I promise I've got others lined up. There was just a wave of Stephy and Cait lined up in my requests, and I'm just doing first come, first served rn 😅
Summary: Moments for the trio, complications, expectations, and satisfactory temptations. or all the times everybody but the three of you realise you love them a little more than friends do.
Sleek muscular lines run up the outside of her calves, defining themselves with every strain of the muscular legs belonging to the sweet and bubbly Australian.
Apparently, facing the treadmills away from the wall so that one could see the whole gym when doing their runs was what the interior designers wanted.
It also meant anyone doing hip thrusts was in your direct line of sight, facing off to the side.
The way her shorts ride up slightly, showing off toned thighs, was another problem.
You shake your head a little.
Why were you ogling... again..
Steph's your best friend. You don't want to make it awkward. Sure, all friends called each other hot and stuff, but they definitely don't check each other out in attempted subtlety.
The soft grunts as she lifts up the bar permeate through the music in your left ear leaving your cheeks to darken significantly.
Of course, in the midst of that, you make the mistake of taking a small sip from your water bottle whilst mid run.
Steph let's the weight settle back onto the ground away from her, but in the process of stretching out again, her shirt lifts slightly, revealing a sliver of the soft, newly tanned skin you'd been imagining feeling under your fingertips for months on end.
Water gets caught halfway down your throat as your breath hitches and with that a coughing fit that makes you end up in a piled heap on the ground.
A concerned hand patting your back, helping you regain your breathing, grabs your attention.
It's a familiar hand that you immediately recognise as belonging to the other call for your affection.
If your cheeks weren't already bright red from exertion and nearly dying, they would've darkened further at your treadmill buddy having been the one to spot you on the ground.
Though given the amount of racket you've just made, drawing attention from the whole squad and their trainers, Caitlin isn't the only one now watching you with a concerned look.
"You alright, Dahl?"
You nod, accepting the hand up from the brunette, brushing yourself off quickly.
"Fine, just water went down the wrong hole." You joke mildly.
A smile tugging at the corner of Caitlin's lips makes your stomach warm, and you have to fight every urge to run away in embarrassment as it quickly morphs into a smirk.
"Maybe don't drink water mid stride next time, cutie."
With an affectionate roll of your eyes, you quickly return to the treadmill once again, shooting the onlooking blue eyed striker a reassuring smile as she watches you return to position with a careful gaze, though doing so makes your heart beat a little faster in your chest.
With that, you resort to getting lost in thought instead of so blatantly staring.
You have to get your feelings under control and fast.
--------------------------
"Do you think she notices?"
Steph's head perks up from it's position resting on her propped up hand.
"What?"
Beth gestures to your shaking form, body rattling with laughter as you talk with your teammates during breakfast.
"Y/n."
"Does she notice what?"
Steph's confused look is met with a cynical one from the blonde.
"Does she notice it when you both give her 'fuck me' eyes?"
Caitlin just about spits out her food across from them, coughing to avoid choking, and then swallowing.
"What the fuck are you on about?"
Beth scoffs.
"Please, you both know exactly what I'm talking about. Steph, you were staring at the girl for exactly one minute and thirty two seconds before I had to call your attention away just then and Caitlin, don't act like you weren't ogling the poor girl while she was relying on you as her spotter when she was doing her squat sets yesterday."
Steph's face goes mildly pink as she shakes her head.
"Yeah, no. There's no 'fuck me' eyes. At all. I'm happily engaged to Dean. Beffy, I have no idea what you're seeing here."
"Yeah, Beth, this is weird, even for you. I'm happy as I am with Lia."
"You guys... seriously?"
They both nod, Steph quickly changing the subject with a final glare at Beth so she doesn't protest for the rest of the meal.
They both finish up their food swiftly, taking off separately.
Beth groans, sliding her hand down her face. This was gonna be harder than she thought. There was no way she'd be able to get one of you to admit your feelings, let alone all three of you, by herself. She needed help.
And she knew just who to ask.
--------------------------
"No."
"But I haven't even-"
The captain holds up her hand, silencing the englishwoman.
"I'm not getting involved with whatever you've got planned."
"But Kimmy!"
The striker whines, latching onto the older woman hoping she'll give in to the puppy dog eyes.
"Beth-"
"I need help getting Y/n, Cait and Stephy to admit they're in love with each other."
That makes Kim's brows raise.
"Hell no. I'm not getting involved in other people's love lives. That's a definite fucking no. Also what makes you so confident in this information anyways?"
"You mean aside from Y/n nearly breaking something tripping on the treadmill yesterday after watching Stephy do her hip thrusts? Or Caitlin being the first one by her side?"
Assuming her power pose, Kim gives her a sceptical look.
"You mean when she was drinking water and choked? Or when Caitlin, the closest person to her, checked on her?"
Beth groans.
"No! It's not just that. It's the constant staring at each other. You should have seen the eyes Y/n was giving Cait in the locker room the other day. Not to mention the constant teasing from Cait as well. Steph is a like magnet when it comes to those two. The serious heart eyes she had this morning during breakfast were so ridiculously telling. I-"
Kim sighs and puts her hand again, pointing a finger at the striker.
"No, Beth, that's enough of that, honestly, I will not be getting involved in that, and you certainly shouldn't either. If I see you interfering at all."
It's a silent threat, but Beth doesn't need to hear it. Unfortunately, much like a team mother would, Kim would very much ground her. And would very much enforce it, too.
Okay, so maybe Kim wasn't her best option. She'd try Viv, but there's almost 100% chance she'd say no. Steph would normally be her next best option but obviously that's out of the question.
So she resigns to sighing and nodding, leaving the Arsenal captain alone to do her stretches.
Maybe Jen?
--------------------------
"No, absolutely not."
"But Jen, it's imperative we fix this issue, otherwise, all we'll be stuck with is longing looks for the rest of their lives."
"Beth, there's no issue to fix. Steph is getting married, and Caitlin is in a relationship. You're forgetting Lia is our friend too."
Beth paused for a moment. Jen's right. She hadn't even thought of the repercussions this would have on Lia. She was one of her oldest friends, too. God, she was an ass.
But still, she'd be an ever bigger ass if she couldn't help her friends out a little, right?
"Beffy, I know what you're thinking. But the answer is no. It's not worth it. It'll just create more drama than it's worth, I won't entertain the idea. It's gonna hurt someone, and what, then?"
"I know, I know. But you've gotta admit, there's something there, though, isn't there?"
Jen sighs softly.
"If even there might be an astronomical possibility that they're all magically single and available to mingle, and also completely fine with this. There's an off chance that they might work, given they're all so obviously at least girl crushing a little. But even then, it would still hurt someone."
Her shoulder's deflate, and Jen wraps her arm around her.
"Come on, Beth, just let it go. If it's meant to be, they'll work themselves out. Leave it alone. Now, come on, help me with this cleaning."
--------------------------
Steph's eyes trail across the pitch, taking but a few mere milliseconds to analyse your next run before sending a cross your way.
The perfectly timed lead allows for a perfectly timed header and a perfectly timed goal, equalising in just the second last minute of reg time.
The crowd erupts, and you bounce over to the defender, arms wrapping tightly around the woman in elation.
"Let's go, babygirl!"
Her hands settle underneath your legs, holding tightly so as to not drop you while your hands hold her face, forehead pressing to hers as you yell victoriously.
The final was Arsenal's for the taking now, thanks to your brilliant header.
The moment only serves to heighten your energy, and you drop from her grip only to jump into the waiting arms of your favourite striker.
"That's my girl!"
Your grin widens, and you shake her shoulders in excitement. Normally, you wouldn't brush aside that sort of comment, but it's in the middle of a game, so it's swept away to never be heard from again.
Returning to positions, Man United get the game underway once more, now downtrodden that they have to get another goal too.
Your heart races when you're given but another opportunity in the second stoppage minute. Or really, it's not much of an opportunity, more like a hail mary.
The ball has left your boot in an attempt at a last-minute miracle to give Arsenal the win.
From nearly fifty yards out, the ball sails far over the defensive line, passing a caught off guard Earps, who you'd spotted off her line just moments ago.
When it ricochets off the woodwork and into the net, you can hardly believe it, dropping to your knees in disbelief that it actually worked.
The noise from the crowd is almost unbearable.
Bodies pile onto yours, forcing you onto the pitch. Screaming and cheers from your teammates leave you matching their excitement and disbelief in your limited wiggles underneath the pile of Arsenal players.
The pile eventually pulls off you, and with several hugs and hair ruffles, you immediately feel the tightest hug between your two favourite people. You throw an arm up at the crowd from between Steph and Caitlin, both of them singing your praises into your ear as loud as they can.
The crowd cheers louder at your gesture, the feelings wash over you finally.
Relief. Happiness. Mild disbelief still.
"You fucking beautiful woman!"
"That's our fucking girl right here, baby!"
You grin up at the two women, squeezing both of them tightly and running back to position with one final wave to the crowd.
Two pairs of eyes watching the interaction exchange looks.
The moment play is restarted, the whistle blows for full time, leaving you and your teammates screaming in celebration.
Steph is the first one to you, jumping into your arms, wrapping tightly around you, and legs wrapping around your waist as you quickly grab them to avoid dropping her.
Your heart beats hard and fast, not sure whether it's the win or Steph's hands grabbing your face and kissing your forehead that does it.
A part of you wants to assume it's the win.
A part of you knows it's both.
That doesn't stop you from relishing in the moment, though, thoroughly enjoying her hands on you, which are now squishing your cheeks adorably.
The moment is gone the moment she leaves your arms, but it doesn't last long.
Caitlin is quick to pile on you next, fingers threading through your hair. While unintentional, it makes you buzz just that little bit more.
When her grin makes your whole body warm, you realise at that moment just how screwed you are.
And if anyone were to ask about your blush at them both kissing your cheeks in a pose for a photo with the trophy, well, you'd just deny it to the ends of the Earth.
--------------------------
Steph doesn't think about the little things too often. Moments here and there that aren't even so much as waved off, they're that insignificant.
Small touches. Friendly hugs. Little gifts. Every little detail that she normally ignores.
She doesn't think about all the times she's hugged you just that little bit tighter than she does with Beth or Lia.
She doesn't think about the bag of her favourite lollies being left in her cubby after practice that was most definitely planted by you.
She doesn't think about the way her eyes drift to you naturally, watching your form move across the pitch gracefully.
She doesn't think about the way her mood always brightens when she sees you, even if you'd already seen each other five times that day.
She doesn't think about the kiss she leaves on your forehead or cheek when you say hello or goodbye.
Except she does.
At least now that Beth's pointed it out to her.
Truth is, as much as she denied it that day at breakfast, her eyes were locked on you in every spare moment.
Realising just how much you actually invaded her thoughts and senses, well...
It's a startling revelation.
It scares the crap out of her.
She loves Dean and would do anything for the man she's planning to marry. He's a sweetheart. He keeps her on her toes. He takes care of her better than all of her previous partners ever could.
It's a startling revelation when she realises how much time she spends with you and Caitlin over him.
Caitlin.
That one comes out of left field. It definitely worries her, though, her best friend entering her trail of thought, too. That one catches her a little more off guard than she likes.
So, she leaves that one for another time, shoving it back into what was supposed to be a deadbolt box of intrusive thoughts in her head.
She hates how much you invade her head.
When she thinks back on what started it, she can't pinpoint it. Just that you'd always been the sweetest friend to her. Friend. She hates that her stomach turns at the term.
It'd always been you to comfort her in moments of doubt. It was always you she wanted beside her when victory came the team's way.
Steph feels helpless when she realises how much she actually cares for you.
She feels helpless when she realises how screwed she truly is.
"Babe, dinner's ready!"
Dean's voice brings her out of her head, echoing from the kitchen of their shared flat in London.
As she makes her way over to the table, the plate already set out for her, a small kiss pressed into the bearded cheek of her fiance, her mind wanders back again.
What the hell is she gonna do?
--------------------------
Beth doesn't leave it alone in the end. She's determined to at least get something out of you if she can't get something out of Steph or Caitlin.
Though with Kim now watching her like a hawk during training, she has to be subtle about it, so getting you alone during a night out without Kim or Jen is a little too difficult, especially since you're glued to Caitlin and Steph's sides constantly.
Viv being there is out of the question, so she had to come up with an excuse to get you out with her, on your own.
"N/n pleeeease, I need you to come with me, shopping."
You groan into the phone in annoyance at the blonde. You'd just wanted to enjoy your day off without the stress of having to socialise like an adult.
"Why can't you go on your own? Or with literally anyone else but me? Steph or Viv, or literally any one of the 23 other women in our squad?"
"Because you've got the day off, Steph is busy, Viv is out of the question because I'm shopping for a gift for her, and I want it to be a surprise and you're the only other one that knows her almost as good as I do."
You can hear the pout from your side of the line, and when you sigh softly into the receiver, Beth knows she's won.
"Fine, but I really wanna be back home as soon as possible. I have some serious me time planned, and I wanna get back to that as soon as possible."
"Gross Y/n, I know you're single and all but-:
"Shut the fuck up and get over here."
-
It doesn't take her long to come kidnap you and drag you around to nearly every store in the shopping centre, and it's a miracle you're only stopped once for pictures.
"Beth, why are we here? Why do you need my opinion on this? Why am I even here?"
Apparently, her final chosen store was a lingerie store. It also means she's trying to get you to purchase something as well. Why? You don't know.
"Because you're the next best judge for me. Also, you need to get out. You've been way too busy lately and need to do some shopping for you and for you only."
"For god sakes, I'm literally you're only single friend, I'd be the worst judge for this."
Punctuating your sentence with dropping into your seat once again with a tired groan.
"Also, I know I've been way too busy, that's why I was at home in the first place. Now, can we please hurry up and go, Beffy?"
You whine, now getting fidgety under the pile of bags you've been made to carry around for her.
Tossing another pair back over the curtain to you, telling you to toss her the next pair, she chuckles at your exasperation.
She's been stalling as long as she can to try and get the opportunity to talk to you but hasn't found the right words this whole time. She knows if she doesn't ask soon, she'll up losing her only chance.
"Just give me a couple more minutes to try these on, and I'll take you to go get some nando's?"
Huffing softly, knowing she's got you with the offer of food, you sit back down again, waiting for her to finish browsing.
"Fine, but hurry up or you'll be dealing with hangry Y/n, too."
"Got it, Sweetpea. Now, pick out a set, too."
Your loud groan of annoyance makes her laugh.
-
It's only in the car on the way home that she finally manages to ask.
"So, Y/n, I've been noticing some things over the past couple months."
Swallowing the mouthful of chicken, you look over at her suspiciously.
"And what would that be?"
"You've been giving Stephy and Cait eyes."
Turning your head, you roll your eyes at the same time, though there's a sting in your eyes as you fight back the oncoming rush of emotion.
"Beth, you're gonna have to be specific. I kinda have to look at them to converse with them. Ya know, best friends and all."
Giving emphasis to the word friends, you're hoping she'll let what you know she's about to say go. Of course, this is Beth, and of course, that's not happening.
"N/n, that's not what I meant, and you know it."
It's said a little softer this time, with the hopes you don't scare away entirely.
"It's not happening, Beffy. There's nothing there, and nothing will ever be there."
Her heart breaks for you at the crack in your voice and she can see tears peaking out of the corners of your eyes.
She pulls over in an isolated carpark, so she can fully look at you.
"Doesn't mean it hurts any less."
"If it means I don't lose them, then I don't care how much it may or may not hurt. I can't lose them."
You've fully curled up in her passenger seat now, legs pressed to your chest as you pick at the cuticles on your fingers.
"I can't do it. I can't let them see it."
She sighs, resigning to letting you work this out for now. She knows you're stubborn. She knows you won't let her intervene under any circumstance.
"I'm serious, Beffy. You can't tell them, they can't know about this. I won't lose them."
"I won't tell them. If that's what you want, I won't tell them. They still deserve to know, though. It's not fair on you or them to keep this bottled up. It'll kill you in the end if you don't tell someone."
"So be it... I'll figure something out. Maybe take some time away. The only way to get over someone is to get under someone else, right?"
It's said in half joking tone, but Beth knows otherwise. She's seen how you coped with your previous relationship ending. You nearly killed your reputation entirely with the constant one night stands.
How you cope is up to you, and she still respects you as a person, but she also wants you to be happy, both with yourself and your life.
She never judged you. She never seriously complained at having to come get you every other night for three weeks straight every time you called her for a lift home.
She did get sick of it though, and she finally managed to get you to leave that behind fairly swiftly after your position on the team was threatened by the incessant news articles with leaked images of you with a new girl on your arm in every single one.
The others hadn't entirely seen that side of you, you pushing them away to avoid scaring them away too.
Beth was the only one who didn't take your attempts at pushing her away.
"Just, take it easy, alright? Don't let it risk your career as well. I'm not letting that happen again. You're my family, sweet girl."
She punctuates the sentence by pulling you to hug her over the console, and you let her, letting the tears fall finally, holding your best friend tightly.
"It's gonna be okay, Y/n. It might not feel like it, but you'll make it out okay eventually."
Would you?
--------------------------
Caitlin, to her credit, doesn't acknowledge what Beth had said until much later. It takes a whole two months until she even realises her heart had been elsewhere.
Until her current relationship with Lia becomes a past one.
When she realises she should feel more devastated than she does.
When she realises that she feels way more comfortable about the breakup than she should.
Her thoughts don't fully drift to you until she feels her heart race when you hug her after she tells you about the breakup.
It's not that she never thought about you, really. It's more that she never realised she was thinking about you a lot more than was acceptable.
The gifts she'd get you, whether it be fresh coffee in the morning or even flowers after your previous breakup just a year ago.
The small cheeks kisses she'd get from you in return that make her cheeks flush a little.
She begins to wonder in that moment.
Had you noticed the way her heart sped up a little when you hugged her, ear pressed to her chest as you both embraced?
Had you noticed the pink hue her face took on when you smiled that gorgeous smile that only appears when you're genuinely happy?
Had Lia noticed any of this?
It makes her feel both guilty but also flustered at the thought of being so dimwittingly obvious.
In the final conversation between her and her ex, Lia had cited her lack of presence in the relationship.
"You're just not in it anymore, Caitlin. I can't be with you when you aren't here, with me."
She does feel guilty for it. Knows how crap Lia must have felt not having her girlfriend there for her, but she knows it's for the best.
What she does notice is your sudden absence. She sees a lot less of you than she'd like. You disappear from rooms that she's in. If you're forced to be in the room, you're seated far from her and Steph.
Training is much the same, only interacting to keep it professional. It makes her heart ache more than anything. Had she done something? Was she too telling?
Her stomach drops at the thought.
What if you knew? What if she was too obvious?
What if-
"Hey, you alright Cait?"
Steph's hand on her shoulder is comforting, and it sends soft tingles through her skin beneath the fabric of the training jersey.
She has to avoid jerking away from the feeling.
"Fine. Do you..."
She pauses, trying to work out if she wants to even bring Steph into this.
"Is there something up with Y/n?"
Steph hesitates at that, an unsure look on her face.
"Have you noticed it too? She's been avoiding us a bit. It's like that time a year ago. When she..."
Caitlin nods, understanding saturated on her face now.
"Maybe something's happened?"
"It's weird, though. It feels like it's just us she's avoiding."
Steph nibbles at her lower lip nervously, looking around the pitch. She notices, though, that they're not the only ones keeping a close eye on you. Beth is looking over to you every so often, concern laced in her gaze and the way her eyes follow your movements.
It makes sense, though. You'd always been closest with the blonde striker. You'd clicked the moment you'd joined Arsenal four years ago, right before the other two aussies had.
"It's probably just something going on. She'll work it out. She's got Beth looking after her, it seems."
The striker nods and moves to continue the drills, though the worry doesn't ebb at all.
In fact, it only increases the closer to the world cup they get. What were you going to do once the World Cup came around? Maybe they would have to keep an eye on you themselves.
--------------------------
Steph, it turns out, is right. It is just them you're avoiding.
It's the why that has them worried.
Their best friend, their favourite person, was now actively avoiding their presence.
You seemed fine chatting away to everyone else in camp. In fact, they'd found you in cuddle piles with some of the youngins more often than not. Something you'd do with Steph and Caitlin without hesitation normally.
She finds herself missing you more often than not, her heart wrenching itself at the thought of them losing you now.
She thinks back on what she'd realised just a month previously.
It becomes clear that she just has to ignore it if she wants things to go back to normal.
Plus, it has to go away. It's already had her second guessing her own relationship. And Dean's starting to notice her hesitation, too. It has to stop. If not for her sake, then for his and yours as well.
It's just a silly little crush. She has Dean, and she has Caitlin and you as friends. Well, only if she can work out why you're avoiding them.
Meanwhile, you're doing everything you can to push down the pain of not having properly spoken to Caitlin and Steph.
It hurts like all hell to not be near them but you need the time to settle before the opening game, which is creeping ever closer with every hour you spend working out what the fuck you're gonna do.
You can't avoid them forever. You aren't sleeping properly anymore and it's affecting your performance.
Beth has been messaging you constantly, checking up on you, but she hasn't been able to see you at all, given she's still in London doing her rehab. Though she does promise to fly over for a few days to come see you and the girls when she can, knowing the other England girls would want to see her as well.
Unfortunately, she knows you a little too well as well, and she calls out the tiredness in your voice one day, it's 9am and you've not trained for the day, so she knows you have no excuse to be tired yet.
You brush her off, but the mild scolding you get in return is enough to have you spilling the beans.
"Just not sleeping too well is all. I'm fine, Beffy. I'm just adjusting to the environment again. It's been a while since we've been in camp."
"You and I both know that's not the reason. How are coping over there? And be honest with me. I have my sources."
Rolling your eyes slightly, you huff down the phone.
"Your sources need to mind their own business. And I'm fine, I'm serious. I'm taking my time and everything, just like you said."
"I didn't mean to explicitly ignore them altogether either. Steph's worried about you. She's already messaged me asking if you're alright and that you'd been acting weird even before international break started."
"Shit."
"Caitlin, too. Said you've been distant but doesn't wanna scare you away. Y/n, please, for the sake of your sanity and theirs. Just talk to them."
"Beth...."
"I'm serious lovey, you need to talk to them, even if you don't outright say, 'I'm in love with you both', just tell them you're dealing with feelings at the moment. They're missing their best friend, not just you missing them here."
There's a soft knock on your door that grabs your attention.
"Look, I'll think about it-"
"No. Talk to them. I'm serious. I can't play buffer when I'm not there. You need to talk to them. Not me."
"Alright, I'll do it at some point. I have to go, someone's at the door."
"Y/n-"
"Love you, bye."
You hang up with a soft growl of frustration, the knocks on the door getting more persistent now.
"For the love of- I'm coming, calm down!"
Swinging open the door, you're met with a sheepish looking Steph and Caitlin.
Not who you're expecting. But at the same time...
"What's up?"
You keep it calm, not wanting to totally panic now that the exact people you were avoiding are at your door.
"Can we talk?"
Shuffling your feet slightly, you step aside, gesturing for them to come in.
They stand there awkwardly for a minute before you walk up to them, poking Steph in the shoulder lightly with a small smile.
"Stop being weird, y'all can sit down ya know."
A slight smile tugs at her lips and they both chuckle softly, conceding to sit on the edge of the single bed while you pull up the chair, resting one foot on the set, knee pressed up to your chest.
"So what's up?"
They exchange a look for a moment.
"We were hoping you'd tell us that."
Feigning ignorance, you tilt your head slightly.
"About...?"
Steph sees right through you though, a raised brow in your direction.
"You know what about. You haven't spoken a word to us since before we even left london. What's going on? Is something happening?"
You scratch at the back of your neck slightly, head ducking to avoid eye contact that you know will probably mess you up in trying to not confess your undying love.
"Just a small thing... it's not really major. I just figured I had to deal with it on my own for a bit."
"And that includes completely avoiding us and only us?"
Caitlin's words have a bit of bite now, frustration leaking through.
Swallowing softly, you look up at them.
"It's not- You guys know me better than the others, figured if I avoided you both, it would be easier to avoid having a conversation about it."
Steph moves from her spot towards you, kneeling to take your hands, which are now propping up your head on both knees.
"Talk to us Sweetheart, what's going on in that head of yours?"
Feeling tears well up in your eyes, you tilt your head back slightly, not wanting them to streak down your face in front of them.
It hurts so bad. You want to tell them, but you can't risk it.
What you don't see but hear is Caitlin moving to crouch by your side, hand resting on your leg, concerned look making it's way onto her features.
"Talk to us darlin', we just want our friend back."
There it is, the word you hate so much. It makes your stomach drop, and the tears flow freely down your cheeks. Looking down at them, you shake your head.
"I can't tell you that."
A shaky breath wracks your chest and you turn your head away, avoiding the worried blue and brown eyes of the women in front of you.
A hand settles on your chin, bringing you back to look at them.
"Why not? You know you can tell us anything. Please, we just want to make you're alright."
The feeling of their hands on you is overwhelming. Between your heart and your head, everything is racing and feels so heavy.
Standing abruptly, you step back away from them both, moving away from their outstretched hands when they reach for you.
"I just can't."
Cutting Caitlin off before she can say anything else, you move over to the door, opening it.
"Just please leave. I can work it out on my own. I can't tell you just yet, alright? I love you both, but I need to get my head straight before I can talk about it. I'll be fine, just... please...."
Sighing softly, Steph moves towards the door, but not before cupping your cheek softly and kissing your forehead.
"We're here for you. Whenever you feel like talking. Don't forget that."
You nod softly, and she steps out the door.
Caitlin does the same, hand lingering a little longer on your shoulder, though, squeezing softly.
There's something in her eyes you don't quite recognise, but you don't question it as she she leaves, muttering a soft goodbye to you.
Shutting the door behind them, your form slides down the wooden panel, sitting knees to your chest as you rest your head on your knees, listening as their footsteps echo further down the hallway in synchronized steps.
You are such a coward.
Why didn't you just tell them?
Everything would be so much easier.
It would hurt too much to lose them, though.
They'd hate you forever.
You'd ruin everything.
The thoughts running through your head are loud, and they don't leave room for much else, so you do the only you know to try and calm yourself.
You pull out your phone, dialling Beth's number and wait with bated breath.
The moment she picks up, its like it all just blurts out at once.
"Hello?" It's said in a tired voice.
"I couldn't do it!" Choked sobs from your end immediately make the blonde shoot up from her spot in bed, her girlfriends arm suddenly moved from its position around her waist.
"What? Y/n, talk to me."
"I tried to tell them, and I just broke down and told them to leave! They're gonna hate me!"
There's a concerned hand on her arm from a half asleep Viv, and she gives her an apologetic look, mouthing your name to her.
"Oh sweet girl, they could never hate you. God they lovd you way too much to hate you."
"That's the problem. They'll never love me like that. Not the way I do. They'll hate me if I tell them. It's basically a lose-lose situation either way."
It's loud enough that the dutchie hears it from her position behind the englishwoman, and her brows furrow. When had this occurred?
"Babe, what is she talking about?"
"Uhhhh.. gimme a minute." She turns back to the phone.
"Alright, it's okay, you couldn't tell them. I need you to take a deep breath for me, okay? You're gonna send yourself into a serious hyperventilation if you don't breathe for me, alright?"
You take a moment to let your chest muscles relax, trying to keep them from constricting in your chest too much.
It doesn't quite work, though, and everything just comes crashing down around you, your sobs just becoming harder.
"I c-cant. It hurts!"
Shit.
"That's okay, I want you to do something for me, okay? Put a hand to your chest for me."
Doing so, you set down the phone, putting it on speaker, knowing the drill by now, having done this many times before.
"Five things you can see?"
Squinting up into the now dark room you scan the place, trying to focus on the various items in the darkness.
"Uh, c-curtains, a chair.... my bed, a pile of clothing... myself in the standing mirror."
"Good, that's it. Four things you can hear."
"You, Viv, my pulse in my ears, the cleaner down the hallway."
"Good, three things you can feel."
Swallowing lightly, you rest your head against the cool wood of the door, allowing it to ground you a little better.
"Cold, the carpet is cold. The wood of the door. Sweaty, and snotty. I feel gross."
Ignoring you joking softly, she continues.
"Two things you can smell, sweets."
Taking one more shaky breath, your pulsd starts to lessen off from its incessant beating in your eardrums.
"Uh, carpet cleaner and Steph's perfume."
"That's it, one more. One thing you can taste."
"The peanut butter cup I ate earlier."
"There you go, take a few more breaths for me."
"Someone want to explain whats going on now?"
Viv's voice sounds from your phones speaker, and you sigh softly. Now another person probably knows.
You hear some muttering over the line followed by a small hum.
"Ah, so you're finally admitting it then?"
Huh?
"Wha-"
"It was kind of obvious, really. You really weren't subtle about it."
Of course, she's right. Who were you kidding? It was so blatanly obvious. It was painful to anyone observing it. You couldn't imagine what the other two might have seen.
"I can tell what you're thinking, sweetheart. As obvious as it is to the rest of us, those two knuckleheads have no clue. Thats on them for not noticing you're struggling."
"That's the problem. They know something up. They came to my room to work out why I was avoiding them, Beffy. They're gonna work it out sooner or later, and I don't think I wanna be stuck around them if they do. I don't want to think about having to witness that. The disgust on their faces because they're own best friend is in love with both of them."
On the other side of the line, Beth and Viv exchange a look, Beth sighs softly, her partners fingers carding through her hair, helping relieve the stress headache she can already feel coming on.
"Love, you need to tell them. I know you're struggling. They could never hate you or be disgusted by you. They love you. And they just need to realise it."
"You and I both know that's not true, though."
The frustration bubbling up in Beth's chest has it spilling from her lips before she can really stop herself.
"It is. You're just too blind to see it. Those girls are obsessed with you. The love in their eyes for you is honestly kind of sickeningly sweet. Too bad you're all too dumb to see it, though. It's so damn obvious to everyone but you. You literally just need to talk to them, please, for the sake of your mental health and ours. Talk. To. Them."
"Okay? Even if that were remotely true. Steph's getting married. There's no way in the world she'd even consider leaving that behind. The man treats her better than I ever could. We're just better off as friends. It needs to stay that way."
"Y/n-"
"No, Beth, I'm done with this. Look. I have to go. I'll talk to you later."
Beths protests are cut off by the click of you hanging up.
Even if she was right, so were you. Steph wouldn't leave Dean. She loves him far too much. He's her safest option, and she knows it.
Caitlin wad a whole other story.
Sure, she's single now. But what makes her any more available to you than Steph? She's still your friend. There's no way she'd want you the way you want them.
Letting your head hit the door once more, you sigh, wondering how the hell you'd fix what you're already damaging.
--------------------------
It starts off slowly. She doesn't even realise she's doing it. Little things here and there.
Picking at the little issues she finds.
Poking and prodding at the soft spots, pushing buttons she wouldn't normally push.
Apparently, it's pretty easy to start fights when you know what buttons to push.
Why? She has no clue.
In her head, though. It's staring her right in the face.
The little comparisons she makes.
You'd never get upset over her leaving her boots in a heaped pile beside the door.
Your cooking was always so much better whenever she went over to your place.
You'd never have left her to find travel home on her own after a World Cup.
In fact, you'd actively made sure she had a ride home, her reassuring (lies) left you feeling relieved that she wouldn't be on her own after the exit the Matildas took at the World Cup.
Whatever it was that had you avoiding them, you'd figured out how to deter it. Returning to conversing with the two brunettes like nothing had happened.
It was a little unsettling how much she noticed you putting on a mask with them.
As hard as you'd tried to fake being fine, she could read you like an open book. Or at least to a fair extent.
For one, your smile never quite reached your eyes, save for the one or two times of victory during the games. The most honest one you give is the win over France.
It was another thing she noticed. She found herself breathing a little easier with you by her side, even with a shell of a smile.
She doesn't push you, though. Not wanting to scare you away again.
Caitlin was very much of the same opinion. Even though you'd stopped avoiding them, you still weren't your usual cheery sunshiney self around them.
The striker doesn't bring it up, though. Only encouraging you with silent smiles of encouragement and occasional soft brushes of her hand against your back, shoulder, or arm when she's next to you.
So Steph does the same. Seeing you both tense but also relax under their, although gentle, not so subtle ministrations.
In the early hours of another chaos filled weekday, mainly filled with silent frustration built up between her and Dean. The latter not knowing what's going on with his Fiancee, he eventually has to poke and prod her enough to spill it.
Though, stubborn as the Australian is, she doesn't give too much, only snapping that she's fine and to let it go.
It sparks an argument that ends up with him storming out of the house, slamming the door behind him.
It started over a simple question over that nights pumpkin cous cous salad.
It takes her but five minutes of seething to realise what she's starting and why.
She feels sick to her stomach.
She was sabotaging her relationship with Dean.
And for what? A silly crush on her friend?
What the hell is she doing?
-
It's in the early hours of the evening that she gets a text from Dean saying he's at a friend's place for the night and that she needs to cool down and work out what her problem is before he'll return home.
With a defeated sigh, she sends him a sincere apology, telling him she was just frustrated at everything lately and to take the time he needs and that she would work on herself in the meantime.
Not that she does, really. Apparently, she doesn't learn her lesson, instead pushing down the already bottle necked emotions she's experiencing.
She knows it'll blow up in her face eventually. But what can she do? Admit she's secretly in love with you and destroy an already sinking ship of a relationship?
Probably.
But why do that when can sabotage ever having a more peaceful break up.
It seems like she's doom spiralling at this point.
It was a petty fight that blew up. Not that uncommon or that bad that it would suggest either of them should be ready to give up on everything they worked for together.
But that's the thing.
It's taken until she's blown up at him to realise how much they're fighting for it here. All of that pressure to be together. To work out.
To be the perfect it couple.
To want to work out.
It feels like they're both constantly giving 110% but when does the relief come? When do they get their due release. When does it get easier?
She'd thought love was supposed to be easy between two people. For couples to know each other. To read each other without even really trying.
Yet here he was, struggling to realise his own fiancee was falling for another woman.
And that she was letting it happen.
Like an idiot.
The more she ruminates, the more she sees the signs herself.
She's been pulling away from him more and more. Avoiding talking about you, unlike before when she'd bring you up at least once a day to him. Always eager to gush about her best friend like a teenager.
Now, even the remote mention of you leaves twists in her guts, and she has to try and subtly change the subject without letting on that she's hopelessly not in love with him anymore.
Oh.
She's loves Dean.
Right?
No.
Yes.
She loves him.
But she's not in love with him.
Not anymore.
It scares her.
He's always been her safety blanket.
But maybe that's the issue.
He was too comfortable. Too much of a safety blanket. Shielding her from what she should have been acknowledging this entire time.
Maybe. Just maybe.
She's been in love with you this whole time.
That's what scares her the most.
And now that she's finally realising it, she realises there's a conversation to be had.
And feelings she needs to communicate. Even if it hurts both of them. Because in the end, it'll hurt worse if she tries to fight it anymore than she already has. She's already hurting Dean too much by leading him on like this. She can't take it anymore, she has to tell him.
-
Any fairytale story would tell you that it went surprisingly well. That Dean says he knew all along. That he knew Steph was secretly gay and had been waiting for her to tell him so he could comfort her and encourage her to go for the girl. To go for you. To finally acknowledge that those lingering stares from you might mean something.
Unfortunately, this isn't a fairytale.
And he doesn't take it well.
In fact, he's pretty furious when she timidly brings it up.
She doesn't blame him though.
"Are you fucking serious right now, Steph?"
She winces at that.
"You want to ruin what we have because of that bitch?"
Anger flares up in her chest at that, and she shoots to her feet suddenly, coming to your aid despite you being blissfully unaware and not present for this.
Yes she fucked up but he has no right to call you that.
"Don't fucking call her that. This isn't her fault. She didn't do anything wrong. Yell at me, blame me, call me the bitch but do not insult her. Ever."
He chuckles darkly.
"I should have fucking known. How did I not see it? We've been fighting an uphill battle this whole time. All we do is argue, argue, argue at this point. And you don't even try anymore. Fuck, you had a go at me over pasta the other week. You've been finding excuses to insult everything I do. Everything I've achieved. Apparently, I can't even get dinner right anymore. Nothing is good enough for you. Now I know you've just been comparing me to your teammate this whole time."
Her head falls at that.
He's right.
She's been the worst partner to him. There's no excuse.
"Now I know that you've just been lying to me this entire time. And by the looks of it, yourself too."
The following silence as she tries to gather her words only serves to tick him off more.
"Fuck you Stephanie. I hope she treats you well."
The slam of the front door as he grabs his packed luggage and walks out the door with it, taking the last of the relationship with him, makes her collapse back onto the couch.
The tears, the frustration, the anger, at herself more than anything for letting it get this bad. All of it just crashes down on her and for the first time in a long time, she let's her emotions take over and she just cries.
Grieving the loss of a relationship doomed from the start. Grieving the major fuck up on her part.
Crying because she knows it's gone now.
Crying because even if she does end up with you. She's lost a friend in the man she once thought she loved. And that's on her. She knows that.
For now, though, she allows herself to cry it out, knowing the acceptance will take a while to come before she can fully move on from that.
--------------------------
Giggling as you shove Caitlin lightly, her arms tightly wrapping around you and wiping her sweaty forehead all over your face, you blush as she presses a kiss to your cheek with a small wink as she jogs off to the locker room, you following behind with a shake of the head.
It seems you'd finally started to let go a bit. With Caitlin now doing everything in her power to get you to smile daily, you start to let your guard down at your own behest more and more.
It seems easier, though, considering the sudden icyness from a certain defender that has you being pushed into the arms of the striker instead, literally.
It feels like she's latching onto you every minute she can. You can feel the stares from the other side of the training grounds. Feel the burning stare as she watches you with her best friend. The one she's now also trying to grapple whether or not she's falling for too.
You don't pay it much mind during training, but you do attempt to pull Steph out of whatever has her this down suddenly.
Leaving her little notes of encouragement after particularly gruelling sessions where Jonas had let his frustration out pretty badly on her after some major mistakes on her part.
Making sure she's always hydrating during the particularly warmer sessions.
Making sure she's been eating correctly by leaving her homecooked meals on top of her car when she goes to leave for the day.
Making sure she knows you're there even though she never stopped knowing that in the first place.
She'd tried pushing you away to sort everything out, but in the end, you make it a little difficult with the loving you're unknowingly (or maybe knowingly, she doesn't know) giving her. Even in a time when she's trying to make it clear, she wants to be alone.
You and Caitlin don't let her, though.
The forward always grabs the girl by the arm to pair up for training, forcing her to chat way about what's been going on.
She doesn't tell her that she's harbouring feelings. She does tell her that her and Dean have broken up though.
That was a shock to the striker.
She'd thought the woman was perfectly happy, but it seems everything was just bubbling away under the surface.
Caitlin does feel a little guilty for being happy about it, knowing the girl is going through heartbreak and all she can selfishly think about is how she's single now too.
She tells the forward not to tell anyone for now, not wanting to affect the rest of the team with more drama than what usually occurs. Even you, much to the younger brunettes protests.
She doesn't tell you that session.
In fact, it takes her a whole month before you manage to break her walls down enough again to spill the filthy secret she's been harbouring.
"Oh, Steph, I'm so sorry."
Your hug after she tells you is warm. Warmer than she'd realised. The feeling of your arms around her brings a surprising amount of comfort for something that, although she was still grieving, was mostly over with the thought that it's over, that's that.
"S'fine, it was a mess anyways. Both of us were struggling to keep it civil in the end. It was my fault anyway. I just stopped loving him and refused to acknowledge it for so long. It blew up on me."
"Doesn't mean it doesn't hurt either. You're allowed to be upset about it. Sometimes, we can't control how we feel, Stephy."
But oh how right you were.
Despite her scrambling to lock down her feelings and keep her heart from latching itself onto you, it had done so with an eagerness to rival Katie in a no rules match. (Which after a couple weary tackles, had to be vetoed by Jonas and the medical staff).
"I know, jus' can't not feel guilty. I treated him like shit towards the end."
"Steph, from what you've told me, he only fired right back, too. Think about it. He got pissed when you tried to communicate that something needed to change. Maybe it hit a little closer to home for him, too."
What?
Wait a minute.
Oh god.
It wasn't entirely her fault.
It all makes sense now.
That's all it takes for her to finally pick up her phone again to check social media.
And what do you know. He's suddenly got a new girl on his arm, not even a month later.
Now she's pissed. She has every right to be.
Why, you ask?
The new girl on his arm was the clerk at his gym that he ran. The one that he said was only being friendly when Steph got mad about her being flirty.
That asshole.
You can see the thought process play out in her facial expressions, from the moment of realisation to the reaction to it.
"That lying cheating dick."
The evidence?
'Happy Six month anniversary baby'
One title on one post.
She feels so much pressure on her chest drop off with the discovery. Despite the anger, she feels freer than before. The crushing weight of the breakup is now firmly off of her shoulders, and she feels like she can breathe again.
Well, now she can let it all go and not feel guilty about wanting to move on.
Now, all she has to do is work everything else out, too.
"Oh god, he didn't."
Your face is one of concern, and frankly, she just about laughs, the ridiculousness of the situation almost bubbling over. So when she does laugh, you only look more concerned for the brunette.
"He did. I've never felt more relieved, to be honest with you. I felt so damn guilty for ending it the way things did. Turns out he's been screwing his work admin for the past six months. I hope that dick is happy. Those two are perfect for each other."
Despite the situation, you laugh with her, her arm slips around your shoulders.
"So I'm ready to get over it, dunno 'bout you, but I feel like celebrating."
"Ice cream and movie night."
"Absolutely, mind if I let Cait come too?"
"You better."
She grins at the smile that crosses your lips at the mention of the striker.
--------------------------
"Oh my god, I can not believe she let him do that. I swear these chicks are so stupid romance movies."
You groan out at the main character once again, falling for lover boys' false apologies, and Steph and Caitlin chuckle from either side of you, ceramic bowls in hand.
"Babe, it's a romance movie. What do you expect? It's gonna be cheesy and stupid."
Despite your cheeks flushing in the half lit up darkened lounge room in your house, you shake your head.
"Damn, if only she actually knew how to be treated, she might not go back to his dumb butt every time. Woman needs to learn to love herself more."
The pair exchange an amused look over your head, your form slumped into the cushions as they sit sideways on the lounger, arms holding up their heads as they watch you criticise the movie more and more.
What you miss is the shared look of affection over your head, a silent agreement as they both move to press themselves onto either side of you.
-
Cut back to this afternoon after training.
The pair of them had been chatting away, Steph having told Caitlin about your movie night when the striker got a look on her face. Like something clicked.
"So we were thinking- what? What's that look?"
"I just remembered something."
Steph gestures for the girl to continue.
"So.. when were you planning on telling me you ARE in love with Y/n."
Her cheeks flush bright red, and she stumbles over an explanation.
"It's still so fresh.. a-and I wasn't entirely sure and..."
The laugh that escapes the forward has her a little confused.
"Thank god. I thought I was imagining things. You're not the only one, Stephy. She's pretty great, huh?"
"You're not... I don't know, upset that I love her too?"
"Hell no. Steph. Puddin'. Babe. You can't control how you feel and if I'm being honest. I don't mind at all. Like, I kind of like that you do."
Caitlin's cheeks warm, and she looks down, scuffing her boots slightly against the turf.
There's a small pause as Steph observes the forward. She looks around and sees that everyone else has already made their way back towards the change rooms.
"Caitlin..."
The girl looks up again, finding dilated pupils staring back at her and she whines at the look.
"Steph..."
"Can I...-"
"Please."
That's all the indication the older woman needs to tug her into a harsh kiss, hands finding her cheeks.
Hands tangling in her hair make her whimper into the kiss, and a flush creeps up her neck to her ears as their lips slot together easily.
It feels so much softer, but also more passionate than anything she'd ever shared with that piece of garbage.
She practically melts when she feels the other woman's tongue lazily drag across her lower lip, knees just about buckling as the hands move to slip under the edge of her shirt, trailing across the skin of her stomach.
Eventually, they both pull away, gasping and air intermingling their puffed breaths.
"Oh. My. God."
Caitlin chuckles, hands moving back to settle on the woman's jawline.
"You have no idea how long I've been wanting to do that."
Both of them are pressed tightly to one another, allowing their shared warmth to wrap around them, cocooning them for but a few short moments.
"I kept denying how much I realised I was falling for you both."
"Both?"
The hopeful glint in the striker's eye makes her melt further into her, lips grazing hers once again.
"You both made it so ridiculously hard not to. You've always cared more than anyone. And you do so much more than you realise for me, too."
The grin that crosses the strikers face as she leans her forehead against Stephs is mirrored by said woman.
"I may or may not have fallen for you both, too."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
"What do you say we go put the girl out of her misery, too? I hate to say it, but we totally missed the way she's been pining this whole time."
"That's an ego boost and a half."
"Like you need it."
An affectionate eye roll.
"Shush you."
And she slots their lips together again once more before sneaking back to the locker room.

The feeling of the two of them cuddling into suddenly makes you jump slightly, two hands resting on your stomach, shirt riding up slightly underneath their touch.
"I-... can I help you both? Are you okay?"
Both of their eyes on you makes you shrink in on yourself a little, worried something might be wrong.
"Perfectly fine gorgeous."
"Doing pretty, thanks, baby."
Your cheeks are glowing beneath the light of the television and both of them are still watching you intently.
Swallowing softly, you turn to meet Steph's eye.
"I- Can I tell you two something?"
"Of you can, babygirl."
A nod of affirmation from the striker has you nervously picking at your cuticles.
"It's about why I was avoiding you both back in camp. I was... nervous. I didn't want you to know something so I was trying not to spill it."
A soft chuckle from Steph.
"We know, sweetheart, that part was obvious."
Your cheeks flush a little more.
"And, I might have realised something and I've been scared to say anything. Because you're both my friends, and I don't wanna ruin what we have-"
"We know gorgeous."
"We could tell. You weren't overly subtle. It just took us a while to see it."
You duck your head a little, but a set of two fingers lifts it up by your chin again to face the older of the two.
Immediately, you whimper, spotting the way her eyes have darkened significantly.
"Kiss me. Please."
"With pleasure sweet girl."
And so they do. First Steph, claiming your bottom lip between hers, sucking at it, tugging it and letting it go with a soft pop, before pressing back to you again, hand sliding up under the fabric of your tshirt.
A pair of hands gently pulls you away from the defender, and another pair of soft lips quickly takes your own again, leaving you whimpering into it.
Parting your lips at the now hasty swipe of Caitlins tongue, she slips it into your mouth, moulding with your own, leaving you a forever breathless, whimpering mess. Literal putty beneath their fingertips.
Pulling away enough to speak, your chest rises and falls harshly, but you're beaten to it by the forward.
"We've fallen for you as well, sweet girl. We put off acknowledging it for so long, I don't know about you, but I dont feel like wasting anymore time. Be ours?"
Without a single moment of hesitation, you nod eagerly, quickly pulling Steph back into you, allowing your hands to rest on the nape of her neck and as Caitlin's hands trail up to the hemline of your sports bra, you subconsciously breath a sigh of relief, feeling the weight of several tonne trucks fall off your shoulders again.
They loved you too.
You could cry right now.
But you dont. Instead, you focus on the way they touch you like they'll never get to feel you ever again. You focus on the way they kiss you, stealing your breath away with every lock of their lips to yours.
In the end, you're so glad you listened to Beth for once. And she's very glad when she's you walk into training sporting new hickeys and two hands in your own, followed by mild regret now that you're all disgustingly in love, too.
Deep down, she loves it, though. She loves you, and she's glad you've finally got what you deserve.

She's done, but I'm delirious, so I'll come back and edit tomorrow 😭

vulnerable | c.f.
caitlin foord x reader | 1.9k | you didn't realise how much caitlin meant to you until a missed opportunity to be vulnerable pushes her away for good
ˏˋ°•*⁀pure angst with no happy ending for reader :) also reader has like negative self thoughts and definitely not a stable mental health and not great childhood (mentions parents not being good parents etc). arsenal/matildas!reader :)
‘You can’t keep shutting me out,’ Caitlin threw her hands up, frustrated to be having this conversation with you yet again, ‘We’re meant to be partners, we’re supposed to be able to communicate about things like this,’ her voice was shaky and started to fade away while she spoke to you. All Caitlin wanted was for you to listen to her, to listen and to see some change in your actions. Though every time she felt like her words just fell on deaf ears.
‘Cait, I’m not shutting you out,’ You sighed. You sounded more like you were trying to convince yourself of that instead of your girlfriend. For the first time since you both arrived back at your apartment you looked up at Caitlin. You couldn’t help but feel a wave of guilt knowing you were the cause of her bloodshot eyes, holding back tears that threatened to fall at any moment.
‘Bullshit,’ You looked away from her. The worst part of it all was that Caitlin could read you like you were an open book. That’s what years of friendship does. All throughout youth camps you had been each other's rock, always leaning on each other becoming almost inseparable when you were younger until the lines of friendship blurred into something more. So it’s not a surprise when she’s able to call you out on this.
It’s not entirely your fault for the way you are, at least that’s what you like to tell yourself instead of being responsible for the consequences of your actions. Your childhood was fine until it wasn’t. Until your parents' marriage broke down when you were little and all the love they held for each other turned into anger and hatred. Anger and hatred that eventually seeped into the way they treated you. They stopped showing their love towards you, not even able to recall the last time they uttered the words ‘I love you’ to you or hugged you or any ounce of affection.
At a young age you started to feel like a monster that wasn’t able to be loved. You just wanted to be good enough to be loved, but you convinced yourself that you weren’t. You weren’t good enough but maybe you could try to be. So you masked the pain throughout your teenage years and into early adulthood and gave your teammates and friends the love that you longed to receive.
Though you never really did let anyone in enough, afraid they would be able to undo years and years of masking and see the real you and then deciding to get rid of you. But that’s exactly what Cailtin had done. You didn’t plan on falling in love with anyone, especially not your best friend. You hadn’t told her much about your parents or childhood, nothing specific at least. No one, not even Caitlin knew how your parents treated you or these dark thoughts about yourself that plagued your mind.
You confided in Beth when you realised you and Caitlin had fallen for each other, afraid of what to do. Though she convinced you it was okay to let someone in enough to love you like you deserved to be loved. Trying to allow that for yourself, everything had seemed fine in the beginning of your relationship with Caitlin. But you couldn’t help the voice in the back of your head reminding you of your childhood. Reminding you that your own parents couldn’t love you so how did you expect that someone like Caitlin could possibly love you.
You knew it wasn’t an excuse but you also didn’t know how to get rid of that voice, you didn’t know how to ask for help. So you left it to grow louder causing you to continuously shut Caitlin out, despite what you actually wanted. In the start Caitlin thought you were opening up to her, that she was learning more about you things that she wouldn’t have known by being just your friend. Though she was quick to learn that you had mastered the art of seeming like you were being vulnerable without actually telling her anything too personal.
This wasn’t the first time she had confronted you about this. Each time you promised her that you would try harder, assuring her that your relationship was important enough that you could work through whatever it was that had you shutting Caitlin out and pushing her away. You had been trying, you wish how much you could actually tell Caitlin that you were trying, wanting her to be able to see through you and notice your silent struggle and plea for help. You just couldn’t find the voice to do that.
‘I can’t do this anymore,’ Caitlin broke the silence. Her voice was barely above that of a whisper but it was still loud enough to be heard between the both of you. Caitlin thought you had been making progress with her but she had instead lying to herself and trying to see something that you just weren’t doing. The love she held for you had made her start to see things in you that weren’t there. By being in love with you Caitlin was hurting herself. It pained you to see the person you love the most being affected by your actions. Even as you were about to lose Caitlin you still couldn’t break free from your mind, instead you held back your own tears, face emotionless while you tried to believe that this would be for the best.
Caitlin stared at you, tears freely falling down her face, she shook her head. She couldn’t believe she had let herself be put in this situation. With you of all people, the one person she trusted the most. Caitlin had always been the one to love the other more, so when it came to you she really thought everything was going to be different, but when it wasn’t it hurt her so much more. You not loving her back in the way that Caitlin needed you to was slowly pulling her apart. The anger was slowly rising inside herself, more angry at herself than you, ‘You’re pathetic, a coward. You can’t even look at me, did you even love me?’
Caitlin couldn’t help but voice every thought that was racing through her mind. It was the only way she could keep herself grounded instead of spiralling from the disbelief that you weren’t even willing to fight for her, for your relationship.
‘Cait-’
‘No,’ Caitlin cut you off, turning her head away from you, ‘I don’t want to hear the answer. We’re over. I can’t believe I’m saying that,’ The anger subsided and her voice fading back into an almost whisper with a slight rasp from crying, ‘I put all my trust, all of my heart into this relationship and you’re just going to let it go. This isn’t just a year of a relationship but years of friendship you’re letting go of. Do you even realise that? Do you even care because you don’t seem to,’ When you turned your head away from Caitlin and back to the ground did the realisation flood her face. Never trying to speak or deny what she was saying, Caitlin took it as though you were admitting to everything she was saying.
It wasn’t until Caitlin walked out of your apartment that you let yourself break. Falling to the ground, knees to your chest whispering out everything you wanted to say to her. Everything you wished you could have told her. Everything you never allowed anyone but yourself to hear.
It wasn’t a surprise that Caitlin avoided you where she could. It wasn’t always possible with training and the games so to make things easier on her, you had negotiated so that you could take some time away from arsenal. With the acl squad having returned to the pitch no one could deny that you weren’t needed, allowing you to take this time away from the club.
You stayed in your apartment, wallowing in your own self pity. Some of your teammates had tried to reach out and see what was going on, having noticed you weren’t showing up to training or being put on the match day roster. Since the club was vague they tried to talk to you first. Though you dismissed their concerns saying you were fine and leaving it at that. Cailtin had told the team of the breakup when talks and rumours regarding you started floating around the team. She left out most of the details so now you were left with getting messages asking how you were holding up and if you were okay.
The messages only fueled your mind, fueled the self pity you had decided to wallow in. Only being able to see all the times you broke Caitlin’s heart and realising how miserable you had made the one person you loved the most. Trying to not be anything like your parents you had only found yourself acting just like they had.
This lasted a while, even when you went back to training you kept your eyes down and barely interacted with anyone. Though one day during the off-season it was like your mind had cleared and you realised just how much you missed Caitlin. All you had been thinking about for the last month was how much you missed different aspects about her. You missed the way she would talk to you for hours on any little thing that came into her mind. You missed the way she would always try to make you laugh and smile doing silly tricks with the ball. You missed the way her eyes softened as she smiled.
You knew the team was gathering at this bar tonight, not far from your apartment. You hadn’t gone out with them in a little while and you did miss spending time with everyone, even if you had one objective for tonight it would still be fun to see them all. What Caitlin had said about you was right, but now you wanted to prove to her that you could give her what she needed without being afraid.
Greeting the team when you arrived, you were too focused on finding the one familiar face you wanted to see, that you missed the sad smile Beth had greeted you with. Subtly trying to find Caitlin’s face amongst the team, you had turned your head away from the group when you saw them together. Caitlin and Katie, sitting a little bit away from the rest and a bit too close to just be friendly. The more you pushed Caitlin away you didn’t realise you had pushed her into the arms of someone else.
Beth pushed a drink into your hand and grabbed you to sit with them, trying to focus on the conversation that was floating around you. But you were only focused on them. Engaging in conversations where you could so it wasn’t obvious. You watched them from afar, Caitlin’s head thrown back, her laugh drowning out any other sound in that bar. Your heart ached, watching what could’ve been you and Caitlin if you had allowed yourself to be vulnerable that day instead of letting her walk out of your apartment.
So you drank more than you should’ve that night, Beth and Viv helping you to their place wanting to keep an eye on you. Beating yourself up with how easy everything you should’ve done seemed now that you knew there wasn’t ever going to be a second chance with Caitlin.
It was bittersweet. Every time you saw Caitlin and Katie together from that moment in the bar, thinking how it could be you in place of Katie. Being the one to make her smile and laugh the way she did. But it wasn’t and that was something you had to live with. Though you were glad. Glad that Caitlin had found someone who could give her everything you couldn’t.
