Omg Chelsy's blog post was a wealth of Maxwell updates!! I'll have to make a point to check hers like I used to do with Titus2.

First, loooove Mary's dress!! Sleeveless AND backless get it queen, easily the best Maxwell dress I've ever seen.

Second, a few pregnancy updates: Anna Marie (Anna #2 I think) and Anna #4 (or maybe 5?). The newest Anna has been married a couple of years already, and this looks like her first so that's surprising.

I wonder how Anna Marie's cancer is going and if it's still in remission. She looks good!

2024 Wrap-Up: Babies

Duggar Family

Shockingly, we had just 1 Duggar grandbaby this year!

Brielle Grace was born to Jeremiah + Hannah (Wissmann) Duggar in late February. She is already slated to become a big sister.

Bates Family

The Bateses welcomed 5 grandkids this year, all of them boys. It's worth noting that we didn't see a grandBates from Jackson + Emerson, who had the rare experience of hitting their first anniversary without getting pregnant.

Miles Kelton was born to Josie + Kelton on February 21.

Weston Slade was born to Tori + Bobby on May 29.

William Daniel was born to Lawson + Tiffany on July 19.

Harvey Gray was born to Katie + Travis on September 29.

Graham Alan was born to Nathan + Esther on October 4.

Wissmann Family

There were 2 Wissmann grandkids this year, both girls.

The aforementioned Brielle Grace Duggar

Lila Ann Jerred was born to Susanna + Drew on April 1.

Keller Family

You know I love me some shitty baby names, and the Keller family delivers. It seems the Keller Reber family is doing an E theme, and we finally got an answer to how the Waller Keller family picks their names (D for girls, P for boys).

Josiah was born to Esther + John on January 17. (Here's hoping this is the last--though I wish we could see what wild choice they'd have made for another girl. Agatha? Eirene?)

Edelweiss Miracle was born to David + Hannah on March 16. What a mouthful. I love how bad this is.

Naomi Christine was born to Nathan + Nurie on July 14. "Naomi" was very predictable, but "Christine" was a pleasant surprise. I had been betting on "Naomi Jill." "Naomi Christine" is, in retrospect, much more pleasant.

Desiree Hope was born to Priscilla + David on July 19.

Maxwell-Bontrager-Bowers-Helferich Clan

Early in the year, Marlin Bontrager announced that he had 3 grandkids on the way. It looks like there were actually 5! Not everyone posts actively on socials, so I don't have names and birthdays for everyone.

Baby #1 was born to Taylor + Susanna (Helferich) Bontrager. Judging by the baby's age, it looks like a honeymoon baby.

Baby #4 was born to Mitchell + Bryn Bontrager in the spring.

Baby #4 was born to Carson + Carolina (Bowers) Bontrager. After Jubilee, Jemima, and Spurgeon, I am dying to know what they named their next kid.

Amelia Marie was born to Jeremiah + Allison (Bontrager) Helferich on August 28.

Loren Wissmann said he has 4 grandchildren due in 2025. Only his daughter Hannah Wissmann Duggar is confirmed. Simon and Caleb Were Born in January.

Since stepping back a bit from Duggar Data, the Maxwell Family has grown by two.  I didn’t comment on the births, but they didn’t go by without notice!

First, on January 18, 2020, Simon Peter Maxwell was born to Christopher + Anna Marie.  He is their sixth child.  (Note—Anna Marie wasn’t actually due ‘til mid–February; however, she opted to be induced early, so that she could start treatment for her recently–diagnosed breast cancer.)

Then, a week later, on January 25, 2020, Caleb Alexander Maxwell was born to Joseph + Elissa.  He is their Thirdborn.  Elissa’s labor and delivery was fast and seemingly complication–free.

Stay tuned for thorough data analyses for both babies.

... and, don’t forget!  Another Maxwell Couple is still expecting.  John + Chelsy are due to welcome their second child in June 2020.  Busy, busy.

Anyone else have this weird thing where they feel like they wish they were more invested/interested in other less mainstream fundies just so there’d be more info to follow and more stuff happening? But I just cannot make myself care about the Bontragers or Maxwells or whoever they are, like I don’t even know them! They need a show for me to watch and see how ridiculous they are, and then I’ll care (except for the Rodriguii, nobody needs a show to see how insane they are) -

It has been a bit slow around the established families though.. I’m actually happy for Joy and Austin but it looks like maybe with all the youtube they’ve been doing this birth won’t even be part of the show, and I don’t know how interested I really am in Jana’s garden. Jinger’s only posting what looks like stock images that come up if you type in ‘suburban pregnant lady’ and I just really want a courtship or engagement!! Come on Jana, Jed, Jer, Jason! Lauren Caldwell is still single! At least the Bates have Travis and Katie, although they tend to have such long courtships.. I kinda want Jill or Alyssa or Josie or someone to announce a pregnancy. 🤷‍♀️

The Bates are the only fundie family I still really follow. I used to follow the Duggars, Wissmanns, Bontragers as well but with so many of them leaving social media it's become boring to follow them. Also all the bullshit with J*sh was just so disheartening that I just couldn't stand to be a part of it anymore. I still lurk on those families from the sidelines, but the Bates are my main family these days.

Also I'd like to throat punch Elizabeth Bontrager. She's one of the most insufferably annoying people I've ever seen on social media.

Yea I get what you mean. I don't have it in me to watch all the Duggar vlogs, which is about the only things they post online anymore besides ads. The Bates are easier to keep up with bc they're more active but I gotta say, the influencer bullshit really wears me tf out, I can only stand so many ads and beige decor and posed moments.

The Bontragers and similar fundie families are just boring as hell. The last one I really kept up with regularly were the Maxwells via their blog (arguably also very boring but I was super interested in Sarah) but they don't update anymore ever since Sarah's escape marriage.

And yea I agree about Elizabeth, she's so sheltered and ignorant and such a fundie Pick Me, I can only handle so much of her at a time lol.

Here's what's been going on in fundieland in the last 3 months.

Duggar Family

Jason + Maddie (Jones) get married on October 3. They set a new record for shortest engagement at just 40 days.

Jinger + Jeremy announce that they are expecting Baby #3 in March.

Jeremiah + Hannah announce that they are expecting Baby #3, a girl, in the spring.

Anna (Keller) Duggar is photographed, leading some folks to speculate about her weight gain. (Y'all. Not every woman who gains weight is pregnant. Especially not one whose husband is in prison.)

Jedidah + Katey are due to welcome their twin daughters any day now. It would be kind of neat if they came the day I'm posting this (Dec 30), as that is also Jed and Jer's birthday.

Bates Family

Katie + Travis bring home baby Harvey Gray. Harvey was born on September 29 and had some health issues that required him to be hospitalized for several days.

Nathan + Esther welcome babe Graham Alan, born October 4.

Trace + Lydia announce they are expecting Baby #2, a rainbow baby following their loss early in 2024.

Rodrigues Family

Jill Rodrigues posts the "official courtship photos" of Samuel + Brianne, which were taken at Tim's wedding the month before.

Just after Christmas, all photos of Samuel + Brianne disappear, leading to speculation that the pair has called it off.

Other Fundie Families

John + Chelsy (Bontrager) Maxwell welcome Baby #4, Weston Joe. Weston comes after a 3+ year gap between babies, following Maddie Sue's premature birth and Chelsy's health issues. I'm kind of impressed they waited that long to have another--here's hoping both Chelsy and Weston stay in good health.

Cleve + Lise Morton welcome Baby #7, Thomas Ezekiel.

Sam + Alyssa (Campana) Morton are expecting Baby #7. This appears to be the longest gap in between pregnancies so far.

According FJ, Loren Wissmann has said they are expecting 4 grandkids right now. We know about Jer + Hannah, but the rest are unknown. (My guess is Jana, Katrina, and Michelle.)

Elizabeth Wissmann is in a relationship with a man named Zane Buhr.

Speculation abounds around the Anderson family, from reports that Steve was committed to the psych ward back in October to reports from the adult children about the abuse they endured at home.

Today (December 29, 2019), John + Chelsy (Bontrager) Maxwell announced via Chelsy’s blog that they’re expecting Baby #2 in June 2020.  John + Chelsy tied the knot on Decemeber 30, 2017, and their Firstborn (Axton John) is 11 Months Old.  (He was born on January 26, 2019.)  Quite an impressive pace!

Chelsy said that she’s due in June 2020, but didn’t get more specific than that.  Looking at her previous data...  Axton was due on January 23, 2019, and John + Chelsy announced the pregnancy on August 20, 2018.  She was 124 Days—or 17 Weeks, 5 Days—Along, at the time.  If she was exactly that far along with this announcement too, he due date would be June 2, 2020.  That’s in June, so Duggar Data will use that as Chelsy’s tentative due date.

John + Chelsy didn’t do a Sex Reveal with Axton.  We’ll see if they stick to that pattern with Baby #2.  (FWIW, I think they will.  The Maxwell Family’s really isn’t big on Sex Reveals...  They have over a dozen grandchildren, and only one had a Sex Reveal, prior to birth.)

Axton arrived 3 Days Late.  If Baby #2 does the same is due due on June 2nd, he or she might arrive on June 5, 2020.

Reality vs. The Predictor

How did the Predictor do, in terms of predicting this announcement and DOB?  Let’s take a look...

Axton arrived 392 Days after his parents’ marriage.  Since he was a fast–arriving Firstborn Child, the Predictor assumed that John + Chelsy would slow down by 50%, and Baby #2 would arrive 392 Days + 50% = 588 Days (or ~19.3 Months) after Axton.  That would’ve put Baby #2′s DOB on September 5, 2020, and the Pregnancy Announcement in March 2020.  Clearly, John + Chelsy are ahead of schedule!

Recently, I’ve been working on a new Predictor, which deals with “Honeymoon Babies” a bit differently.  Instead of just assuming the couple will slow down by 50%, it assumes they’ll slow at a rate that is typical for women in their family...  For the Maxwells, that rate is actually quite close to 50%.  (It’s 53.4%.)  So, the new Predictor would’ve expected Baby #2 at about the same time.  So, they’re ahead of schedule, however you slice it!

Looking Forward

Chelsy comes from a family of 10 Children.  Her parents espoused quiverfullish beliefs, and clearly had a large brood.  Her mother, Rebecca, had her last child at Age 39.95.  If Chelsy is exactly as fertile, her fertility “cut–off” date would be January 10, 2031.

Axton arrive 392 Days after John + Chelsy’s marriage.  Baby #2 is estimated to arrive on June 5, 2020, which is 496 Days after Axton.

The current Predictor would set John + Chelsy’s Procreative Pace at 444 Days, which is the straight average of 392 and 496.  At that pace, they’ll have time to have 10 Children (Axton, Child #2, and 8 More) before January 10, 2031.  Each new child’s spacing is factored into the average, potentially shifting it and their ultimate quiver size.   

Under the new, work–in–progress Predictor, Marriage–to–Child 1 Spacings will be ignored after Child #2 is announced.  At that time, Procreative Pace is set at the predicted spacing from Child 1–to–Child 2.  (In John + Chelsy’s case, that’s 496 Days, which leaves them enough time to have 9 Children.)  Like the current Predictor, the new Predictor will also average in later child spacings if and when they occur, potentially shifting the couple’s pace and quiver size.
