After several sleepless nights of him trying to manage a sleeping baby, Maverick was in desperate need of a break. He dropped his daughter off at her aunt's before heading to The Sitting Room, hoping a couple drinks could help his sour mood and then he could go back to his new home to sleep. Walking in, he went to order from the bartender before looking up and realizing that he knew the man in front of him. "Mateo fucking Torres" he said with a bright smile. It wasn't often that Mav was happy to see someone he used to know, but him and Mateo always got on well. "Look at you, man, how long has it been? Like 10 years?" he guessed, and he was actually pretty close, since he'd moved away 11 years earlier.

☆ –– (tommy martinez, he/him, cis man) who is MAVERICK 'MAV' TORRES anyways ? ew. you don’t know about HIM, we’ll bet you want to. they’re feeling 28 and CREATING WEIRD FOOD COMBINATIONS feels like a perfect night to them. rumor has it they’re HYPER-FOCUSED and ODD because they care, but they’re also OPEN-MINDED and LAID-BACK in the best way. he works to make a little money as a PRO-HOCKEY PLAYER. they’ve rented on a place on cornelia street in the form of A BROWNSTONE. SEVEN ( muse b ) is the song they could dance to the beat of forevermore. (ooc info: ollie, 25, est, they/them, na. ) ©

HIGHLIGHTS

starting goalie with the new york r.angers but it wasn't the straightest path to get there ; laid-back, open-minded individual... if you catch him outside one of his daily routines ; reflexes like a cat ; lives up to the expectation that "goalies are weird" ; probably eating some disgusting sounding food combo in the kitchen right now.

HISTORY

— the youngest of three ( ariana the eldest now 35, michael the middle child now 31 ), maverick had the choice of what kind of youngest child he was going to be. spoiler : he was the well-behaved youngest sibling.

— born in lansing shortly after his parents' move from new mexico where michael was born —and before that, from venezuela— his parents were the type to chase opportunities. they lived in an apartment there for a little while, before moving out to a small town where his mother was able to get a position to utilize her large animal vet skills. his father, a translator, able to work from the comfort of their home and watch the children.

— they were ushered outside quite a bit, to give their father quiet to work, and in the winter this meant pond hockey with the neighborhood kids. and it is here where mav became a goalie, because everyone knows the youngest sibling is the goalie. — high school was fairly uneventful, with the usual ups and downs. by then, mav had long gotten to be a real goalie with midget and pee wee teams, continuing that love on his high school team. many of his teammates familiar faces.

— graduated high school. got drafted in the 5th round to minnesota. played a year in the ushl (muskegon) not too far from home before heading to brown university ( b.s. pyscholinguistics ). backstopped the bears for 4 full years, before heading off to the iowa wild ( minnesota's ahl affiliate ).

—played a rather mediocre season and a half with the iowa wild, before being traded to the new york r.angers as a piece in a much larger trade. mav wasn't the centerpiece of the trade, rather just an add on after not developing as quickly as the wild had hoped, and another goalie prospect quickly outshining him making him redundant. finished the season with the hartford wolfpack (nyr's ahl team )

— was back with the wolfpack come the next season, though his play saw some improvement, much more consistency and steadiness. he received a few call ups during the first half of the season when minor injuries plagued the tandem, finally receiving his first nhl win. but it was in the final stretch of the season that he was called up again to fill in due to a long-term injury to the starter.

— initially he was only supposed to be a back up, through the rest of the season and during playoffs. it was unlikely he would see much ice time once the regular season ended. he played a few good games in those last couple weeks.

— then playoffs came, and in the first round, he was put in after the other goalie was pulled due to letting in 4 goals in the first, and well — the media says that's truly the moment that mav stole the net and never gave it back.

— his coaches would say he had that potential the whole time, that it was only in the pressure of playoffs that all those great pieces and qualities he possessed to be a great goalie finally came together. the avs made a good run at the cup that year, in large due to consistency in net.

— next training camp, mav came to training camp with a renewed purpose, earning a spot on the team and eventually the starter position as well. mav has yet to give up his net, though he feels far from cemented in it. every training camp brings a new challenge. which brings us to present day...

2023-24 season, age 28: rangers ( present day ) 2022-23 season, age 27 : rangers 2021-22 season, age 26 : rangers 2020-21 season, age 25 : up and down with the wolfpack, called up before playoffs, lead to a deep playoff run and cemented mav's potential 2019-20 season, age 24 : iowa wild, traded mid season to hartford wolfpack 2018-19 season, age 23 : iowa wild 2017-18 season, age 22 : senior @ brown 2016-17 season, age 21 : junior @ brown 2015-16 season, age 20 : sophomore @ brown 2014-15 season, age 19 : freshman @ brown ( providence, ri ) 2013-14 season, age 18 : ushl season ( muskegon ) 2012-13 season, age 17 : graduated from high school, drafted 5th round ( lansing, mi )

PRESENT DAY

— mav lives in new york during the season. he's usually less present in the summers, preferring to spend them in michigan ( #cottageseason ), but he's presently back in new york with the impending start of the 2023-24 season !! he first moved to new york ( and cornelia street, though he originally lived in a diff building, in the summer of 2021 ).

— currently lives in a lovely brownstone with his childhood best friend, myles, and probably has such an arrangement bc of myles. mav almost didn't get a nyc apartment before that first full year with the rangers, almost scared of getting bounced back and forth again, but ultimately decided even if he only spent part of the time in it, it would be worth it to have some home base rather than living out of a hotel room. but he did think that having a roommate would be a good idea : someone to keep an eye on the place while he was gone ( eg. if he got sent down again ). hence, the roommate ad. he never expected his childhood friend from well over a decade ago to reply, but hey, the universe has a funny way of working. that apartment probably was a bit too small for them, and midway through the season myles was already looking for better options. luckily, a beautiful brownstone in the same neighborhood became available. and that's where they live now having moved in the summer of 2022 !!

— frequents plenty of yoga and pilates classes. he thinks they're fun. will randomly show up for various events and things around the city. one of the many reasons he loves ny is that there's never a shortage of things to do.

— thrives on routine. wakes up at the same time every day, does a short yoga session, does some reflex exercises, wakes his eyes up, makes coffee, reads, eats breakfast. the world isn't going to fall apart if he doesn't do his routine, mav still has a rather level-head about things, the only exception is before games. do not interrupt him ( no matter what he claims to be true in interviews ).

— when not busy with hockey day-to-day mav loves to get out into the city. he participates in various volunteer opportunities from animal shelters to clean ups to helping with youth hockey camps. it's never a dull day.

PERSONALITY

— very laid-back generally. he doesn't like to take things too seriously, though he isn't total goof either. rather open-minded in that he'll try just about anything once ( especially food combinations ) before deciding if he likes it or not. bit of a steadying presence, the calm one in the middle of all the chaos. not much seems to phase him. quick to shake off negative commentary.

— that being said, if he's in the middle of the routine he's VERY hard pressed to break it. luckily, not too many people are awake in the morning to bother him, and his night routine is very simple ( and his game day routine is not currently an issue ). everything in the middle of the day though ?? free game.

— mav does have the tendency to get extremely focused on a single thing. he can get dialed into anything, be it a hockey game ( a very good thing ), cooking, reading, pretty much any task. once he puts his mind to something being done... it will be done. once got really into forging mushrooms.

— loves to figure out how things work : anything from physical objects to people to organizations.

— there are times when mav is thinking about something that he'll get very quiet and almost vacant. he's thinking. don't bother him. — somehow gives off the vibes of someone who has their life together and yet... incredibly boyish. — not reckless. thinks things through surprisingly thoroughly. — not always people's cup of tea, not just because of his odd tendencies, but because he also has an uncanny ability to read people. eyes a little too intense and a little too quiet, at times. chalk it up to his college degree, but mav has almost always been that way, reading people from their behavior and between what's said and not. perhaps that's what makes him a good goalie too.

— to quote lexi brown: "i promise you, the weirdest person on the team is in that net (talking to their posts)"

APPEARANCE

— 6'4", muscular, surprisingly solid for a goalie — jaw length hair, either no facial hair or mild scruff, except during playoffs ofc — style : sweaters, button down, fitted t-shirts, anything soft looking, any color any print esp if it's fun. dark washed / gray / charcoal straight cut jeans or pants, sneakers, chelsea boots. runs quite warm and always seems slightly under-dressed for the weather. — quirks : an ability to look incredibly intense at times especially when he's focused on something, plays with a stress ball ( either using it as intended or tosses it up and down ), does crazy eye exercises sometimes out of the blue, if he's deeply focused he needs to be poked first to get his attention

MISC

— extremely good reflexes. mav can catch just about anything thrown at him no matter what. they're something he needs to keep sharp and one of the most important things he needs to ensure he trains during this long period off from hockey. juggles, regular or with the half dozen off a wall. — loves wacky food combinations. snacks on basically anything as long as it's edible. will regularly make combinations bc he was craving a bunch of different things and "it was more efficient to put them together." thus, the opposite of a picky eater. ( a black hole ?? ) — that being said he is a fairly good cook. knows a lot of family recipes: arepas, corn cakes, chicken soup, rice dishes, coconut desserts, milk cakes, etc. loves genuine spicy hot chocolate. — loves yoga and pilates. flexibility is very important. — constantly jokes that he's a goalie and therefore can't skate very well. — speaks spanish, russian, german, and english — fluent in all, enjoys reading books in their original languages. has somewhat suspect acquisition of korean and mandarin — he's working on it. considers language acquisition one of his hobbies. major was psycholinguistics in college. finds it fascinating how language influences behavior and culture. — definitely a plant dad to many low-maintenance plants — loves a fun block/rooftop party. — "goalies are weird" saying = mav. definitely the type with a very very specific and weird pre-game routine / rituals that simply must be done. always doing some weird shit probably. — has a really good goalie death glare — big proponent of public transit. will take it when given the choice. — does not expect to be recognized most of the time as the rangers' goalie and is always very surprised when he is. similarly, does not always recognize "famous" people. his consumption of media is very skewed and often not focused toward popular media or tabloid type sources. — enjoys sitting on things that were not really made to be sat on : counters, tables, the arms of chairs, the top of his net, etc. — his intro also could have went "assembling ikea furniture feels like a perfect night to them" — can, will, and has slept anywhere — yes his parents are top gun fans hahahah

Summary: In which the Daggers find Fanboy's doppelganger. Words: 775ish Warnings: None A/N: This is utter insanity that popped into my head while I was mopping earlier. I'm sorry. But I'm also not.

Fanboy was scrolling through his phone, checking out the announcements from D23 and getting more excited by the second. Bob was sitting next to him, interested in some of the superhero properties that were in development. He stopped Fanboy’s hand on a photo of the cast from the new Captain America movie.

“You know, Fanboy,” he said, his head cocked and his eyes squinted, “I never noticed how much this Danny fella that plays Torres looks like you.”

“What?” Fanboy replied. “He doesn’t.”

The rest of the Daggers crowded around them, trying to get a glimpse of the picture on Fanboy’s phone.

“Zoom in,” Phoenix demanded.

Fanboy complied with a sigh and a roll of his eyes, zooming in on the actor’s face. “See? He doesn’t look anything like me.”

“Eh, I can kinda see it,” Coyote shrugged.

“No way,” Hangman denied, “this guy is far better looking than Fanboy.”

“Fuck off, Seresin,” Fanboy chuckled.

“No, Bob’s right,” Rooster interjected, “there’s a pretty significant resemblance there. Imagine Garcia with long hair.”

The rest of the squad kind of hummed in acknowledgement, muttering agreeances in varying degrees.

“I still say no,” Hangman said, crossing his arms over his chest.

“That’s because you’re going to disagree with anything that Bob and Rooster say,” Payback pointed out, causing Hangman to roll his eyes.

“We need an outside opinion,” Phoenix suggested. She looked around, spying Maverick trying to sneak away. “Mav! Come here a second please,” she called across the room.

Maverick sighed and his shoulders drooped as he shuffled over, looking more like a toddler who’s been told it’s time to leave the park than a highly decorated Navy captain. “What do you want?”

“Do you think this guy looks like Fanboy?” Bob asked, holding the phone up next to Fanboy’s face.

“I mean, kind of. But his hair is horribly out of regs,” Maverick answered honestly. “Is that all?”

The squad started bickering amongst themselves again and Maverick took the opportunity to sneak out of the room, nearly running into Admiral Simpson as he exited the door.

“Dagger squad in there?” Simpson questioned gruffly, trying to see around Maverick.

“Yeah, I wouldn’t go in there right now,” Maverick chuckled as he heard the voices getting louder.

“What’s going on?”

“Apparently someone thinks Fanboy looks like an actor and they’re arguing. I was dragged in as an outside opinion,” Maverick explained with a hint of amusement in his voice.

“SERIOUSLY, IMAGINE FANBOY WITH A MAN BUN,” Maverick heard Coyote shout over the din of the arguing.

“I’ll come back later,” Simpson nodded as he spun on his heel, hurrying away from the room.

“Good choice,” Mav chuckled, shaking his head as he walked away from the room, leaving the pilots and their doppelgangers as quickly as possible. 

“We should change his callsign to Falcon,” Coyote suggested.

“We don’t need any more bird callsigns,” Hangman scoffed, glaring at Rooster.

“Do I get a say in this?” Fanboy asked as his eyes darted between the two pilots arguing over his callsign.

“No,” Hangman and Coyote replied in unison as they stared each other down.

“It wouldn’t be wise to change his callsign now,” Bob pointed out, “not only does everyone know him as Fanboy, we’d be the only ones who understood the Falcon name and it doesn’t fit as well as Fanboy does.”

“Thanks, Bob,” Fanboy muttered.

“See, even Bob is on my side,” Hangman exclaimed, his hands flying up in the air for emphasis.

“He doesn’t agree for the same reasons,” Coyote rebutted.

“Yo, fake Falcon,” Rooster called over the argument, “let’s go get drinks.”

“As long as you stop calling me fake Falcon,” Fanboy grumbled as he stood, Bob, Phoenix, and Payback following behind, leaving Coyote and Hangman to their debate.

“Ah, don’t worry, Fanboy,” Payback soothed as he clapped his WSO on the shoulder, “they can’t keep this up forever.”

“Yeah, about that,” Bob chuckled, “you do realize that Hangman still calls me ‘Baby on Board’ right?”

“Yeah, but you refuse to tell him what Bob actually stands for,” Payback shrugged.

“Because it doesn’t stand for anything,” Bob insisted, “it’s just a nickname, like Fanboy is.”

“Just don’t respond if they call you something else,” Phoenix sighed, “trust me, they’ll eventually get over it when they don’t get a rise out of you. Bob still keeps reacting, that’s why Hangman does it.”

“That’s a very good point,” Fanboy conceded. “I guess I don’t have to answer if they’re dicks.”

“That’s the spirit,” Rooster chirped. “First round’s on Bob for starting this mess.”

“I didn’t -” Bob started, sighing when he realized he was kind of responsible. “Fine. But just one round.”

An unfortunate event.

Some would say it was merely an unfortunate event.

But there are others who claims that it was a divine intervention.

“Osamu-kun,” you called upon entering his shop. He immediately turn around and welcomed you and your baby with a warm smile. “May I speak with you for a moment?” Osamu orders one of his employee to take care of the shop while he speaks with you. Then, he gestured you to follow him in his office.

Your five-month old baby coos upon seeing Osamu. He chuckles before taking little Hisashi from your arms. “What is it, Y/N?” he asks while playing with your baby’s tiny hands. “Is there something wrong? Do you need someone to look after Hisashi? I can do it for you. He’s well-mannered and it’s like he already understands his surroundings. Just like—”

You cut him off before he could even mention his name. “We’re moving out of the house,” you announce. You’ve noticed how his body stiffens while staring at you. “I’m tired, ‘Samu. Tired of waiting for him to remember me. . . to remember what we had shared in the past.” Tears clouded your vision upon remembering the way he looks at you now. “I’m tired of watching him falling in love with his childhood bestfriend right in front of my eyes. I’m tired of pretending that I’m fine with everything, because clearly. . .I am not.”

You pursed your lips before looking at your son. “I know that it wouldn’t be easy for me to raise Hisashi on my own, but I have to try. Hisashi needs me. I need to be strong for him.” Your lips quivered. “And I can only do that if we move away from this place.”

“Y/N, please consider it. . .”

“I can’t.” Your voice breaks. “I thought I could hold onto that hope you gave me. . . the hope that the doctor gave me, but I can’t. . .” You shook your head. “Every single day, I could almost hear my heart breaking. Witnessing how their love blooms each day makes my heart ache.”

Osamu sighs. “When are you planning to move?”

“Our things were already sent to Miyagi. . . and we’re leaving today.”

“Can’t you stay a little bit longer? Have you told our friends about this?”

You shook your head. “I’m only planning to tell you.”

“But why?” he asked.

You took the white envelope you’ve prepared the night before, after Hisashi fell asleep. You placed on the top of his desk before sliding it towards him. “Please, do me a favor.”

“OH.” Keiko smiles before letting him inside the house. “Shin-kun, Osamu’s here.”

Kita steps out of the kitchen, he was still wearing his long sleeves that he uses when he visits his rice fields. Kita smiles before placing his arm around Keiko’s waist who giggles in response. He grimaced upon remembering what you’ve told him a two days ago. “I’ll leave the both of you.”

“What is it?” Kita ask.

“I just came here to give this to you,” he says, handing his former captain the letter you left him. Osamu watches how Kita’s face contorts with confusion upon seeing his name and your name on the envelope. “Y/N gave that to me before they left. I don’t know how it’ll affect you, but I hope that once you’ve read it, you’ll remember some of your forgotten memories.” He pursed his lips. “For Hisashi.”

He bid a quick farewell and left Kita’s household.

Shinsuke knows you. He sometimes visits you and look after your adorable son, Hisashi. Honestly, he feels odd whenever he’s around you. It’s entirely different compared to how he feels towards Keiko. With you, it feels like he’s comfortable and contented.

He took the letter to his room where he silently reads your letter.

Maybe the deities intervened with our lives, because we’re not made for each other.

Shinsuke-kun, I apologize for not personally giving this letter to you. I apologize for asking Osamu to deliver this days after we leave. I apologize for not being able to keep the promise I’ve made to you when you were still unconscious in the hospital. I apologize for not being able to wait until you remember me.

I could no longer stand the way you look at Keiko in the morning before you leave to tend your rice fields. I could no longer stand how you express your love for her whenever you visits me and my son. I could no longer keep myself from telling you how much you’re hurting me. But the doctor says it would be better if we’ll wait until you recall those memories on your own. It would help you recover.

I want to wait for that time, Shinsuke. I really do. But my son needs me. Our son needs me to be there for him. Without you in our lives, I know it wouldn’t be easy. Without you there looking after us like the way you’ve promised months before the accident. I know it wouldn’t be easy, but I have to try.

I am not sure if you’d be able to remember me or what we have, but what I am sure of is that our son needs someone to look after him. While you’re still in the process of recovering, rest assured that I’ll do my best to take care of him.

If, in case, you failed to recover the memories we’ve shared together, please know that I’ll be happy for you and Keiko. Also know that Hisashi and I wouldn’t come back into your lives to ruin your relationship.

¿Por qué no han existido grandes mujeres historiadoras?

Tomando como referencia el emblemático ensayo de Linda Nochlin reflexionamos sobre la labor de las historiadoras del arte 

A finales del año pasado nos dejaron dos grandes historiadoras. En noviembre falleció Jan Morris a los 94 años, periodista, historiadora, viajera y novelista que en 1953 dio en exclusiva la noticia de la conquista de la cima del Everest por Hillary y Tenzing, también cubrió el juicio a Eichmann, entrevistó al Che Guevara y visitó Hiroshima después del bombardeo para escribir sobre ello con el talento excepcional que la caracterizó. En sus memorias, tituladas “El Enigma”, además de todas sus aventuras en Oriente Medio o Sudáfrica, nos habla de su experiencia más transformadora. Jan, que nació en 1926 bajo el nombre de James Humphrey Morris, relató en su biografía su proceso de reasignación y su extraordinaria historia de amor con su mujer Elisabeth con una sensibilidad pasmosa. Ella bromeaba, “me recordarán solo por haber sido una historiadora trans”.

 El día de Navidad nos dejó Barbara Rose a los 84 años. En 1965 Rose publicó “ABC Art” un ensayo que describe el colapso total de los valores que habían sostenido hasta entonces el Expresionismo Abstracto, y que sienta las bases del nuevo paradigma que supondrá el arte  minimalista. Se convirtió desde entonces en una influyente historiadora y crítica, fue editora de arte para Vogue y Art in America, escribió numerosas monografías y libros de referencia, y en 1983 fue comisaria de la primera retrospectiva dedicada a la artista Lee Krasner en el Museo de Bellas Artes de Houston y en el Museo de Arte Moderno de la ciudad de Nueva York.

 Rose y Morris destacaron en una disciplina tradicionalmente reservada a los hombres. La historia era un club de caballeros donde las mujeres apenas tenían representación.

La historiadora Linda Nochlin se preguntó en su icónico ensayo de 1971 “¿Por qué no han existido grandes mujeres artistas?”, un texto fundador de la historia del arte feminista que cuestionó la noción de genio (dirigida solo hacia hombres blancos), denunció la imagen empobrecida de la mujer en las artes y se enfrentó al canon masculino dictado por las instituciones. Nochlin apuntó: "En el campo de la historia del arte, el punto de vista del hombre blanco occidental, inconscientemente aceptado como EL punto de vista del historiador de arte, resulta inadecuado no solo por razones morales o éticas, o porque sea elitista, sino en su sentido puramente intelectual". Así que, parafraseando a esta sobresaliente historiadora si nos preguntamos ¿por qué no han existido grandes mujeres historiadoras? obtendremos la misma respuesta.

Linda Nochlin forma parte de un reducido grupo de mujeres intelectuales que denunciaron la desigualdad de condiciones de las mujeres artistas e inauguraron la llamada historia del arte con perspectiva de género, desafiando de manera intrínseca el propio canon de la disciplina artística en la que inscribían sus trabajos.

Desde entonces se han publicado estudios y libros de texto magistrales, desde “La carrera de obstáculos: la suerte de las mujeres pintoras y su obra”(1979) de Germaine Greer, donde intenta responder a Nochlin en una brillante investigación académica en la que defendía a artistas como Artemisia Gentileschi y Sofonisba Anguissola, o “Mujeres Antiguas: Mujeres, arte e ideología” (1991) de Griselda Pollock y Rozika Parker, que, partiendo de contribuciones hechas por historiadoras, es crítico con el enfoque de sus predecesoras y con el marco limitador de la historia del arte convencional.

Debates que continuaron enriqueciendo y diversificando la disciplina histórica, gracias también a nombres como Kellie Jones y Déborah Willis, historiadoras que han influido en la inclusión de muchos artistas negros, afroamericanos y de la diáspora africana que han sido ignorados en las conversaciones sobre arte, o Nada Shabout, presidenta de la Asociación de Arte Moderno y Contemporáneo del Mundo Árabe, Irán y Turquía, cuyo trabajo se basa en aumentar la visibilidad del arte de comunidades que pasan desapercibidas en el mundo del arte contemporáneo.

 Los datos de igualdad siguen siendo escandalosos. Un 60,8% de mujeres estudian grados de Arte y Humanidades y un 53,9% doctorados de las mismas disciplinas (según el informe Igualdad en Cifras 2020, del Ministerio de Educación), pero seguimos sin ver suficientes mujeres en puestos directivos, medios o altas esferas de la academia.

En España asociaciones fundamentales como Mujeres en las Artes Visuales (MAV), que aúna una base social de historiadoras, investigadoras, artistas, comisarias, gestoras culturales, docentes y periodistas entre otras, hacen una labor extraordinaria no solo en la promoción de la igualdad efectiva dentro del sector, sino también en la visibilización de la labor de las mujeres como activistas culturales.

 No obstante, en la actualidad la divulgación de la historia del arte y el perfil de sus profesionales se ha diversificado y amoldado a los nuevos canales de comunicación, y así lo constatan podcasts tan reconocidos como “Bow Down: Women in Art”, creado por Jennifer Higgie, la editora jefa de Frieze, la revista especializada en arte contemporáneo, que cuenta con colaboradoras como Olivia Laing, Laura Mulvey o la misma Griselda Pollock. Así como el podcast e Instagram de la historiadora y crítica Katy Hessel “The Great Women Artist”.

En el ámbito nacional cabe destacar la importante labor de la artista visual Diana Larrea, con su proyecto “Tal día como hoy”, donde a través de sus redes sociales, publica periódicamente información sobre una artista plástica de diferentes épocas aprovechando la efeméride de su nacimiento o fallecimiento para dar a conocer su obra. También la plataforma PAC (Plataforma de Arte Contemporáneo) vinculada a la asociación de Mujeres en las Artes Visuales, ha lanzado “Woman Art House”, un proyecto fundado en 2017 por Sara Torres Sifón y Emma Trinidad, donde historiadoras y otras profesionales del sector cultural reivindican el papel de las mujeres en el arte.

En el plano más mediático, la historiadora del arte Sara Rubayo, conocida también como La Gata Verde, utiliza el lenguaje youtuber para, desde su canal y sus diferentes redes sociales, dar pequeñas clases magistrales sobre historia del arte desde una perspectiva de género con un tono más pop y desenfadado.

 Si nos preguntamos (como las Guerrilla Girls se preguntaron ¿dónde están las mujeres en los museos?) dónde están las historiadoras, podríamos decir que están en la academia, pero también en los medios de comunicación, en Youtube y en las redes sociales, haciendo que esta disciplina sea cada vez menos un “Club de Caballeros”.

Al via II Edizione de ”I licei musicali e coreutici nei luoghi della Musica”

SI PARTE LUNEDI’ 7 OTTOBRE AL TEATRO TRIANON – VIVIANI

NAPOLI, 6 OTTOBRE – Prende il via lunedì 7 ottobre la seconda edizione de ”I licei musicali e coreutici nei luoghi della Musica”, progetto finanziato dalla Città Metropolitana di Napoli che vedrà esibirsi sul palco del teatro Trianon – Viviani alunni impegnati nel canto e nell’arte musicale. Dopo il grande successo dello scorso anno, l’iniziativa ideata e promossa dal consigliere metropolitano delegato in materia di Valorizzazione dei Teatri, Michele Maddaloni, intende promuovere il teatro e la musica chiamando a raccolta una più vasta platea di cittadini, in primis adolescenti che potranno avvicinarsi alle note dei più grandi compositori e farlo in maniera gratuita. L’ingresso agli spettacoli infatti, come avvenuto lo scorso anno, è libero con inizio alle 18.30.

”Il nostro obiettivo è valorizzare uno dei luoghi storici, al centro di Napoli, tra i più importanti per la vita teatrale del nostro Paese quale appunto il ‘Trianon – Viviani’ e al contempo avvicinare i giovani alle note dei grandi compositori, portare fuori la musica dalle aule scolastiche e farla ri-vivere tra un pubblico sempre più vasto e diversificato” dice  il consigliere delegato Michele Maddaloni.

Si comincia lunedì 7 ottobre con il liceo Margherita di Savoia di Napoli e con la Scuola Sec. di I grado Pirandello-Svevo. Martedì 8 saliranno sul palco i licei F. Severi di Castellammare di Stabia e G. Albertini di Nola. Mercoledì  9 i licei F. Grandi di Sorrento e Pitagora – B. Croce di Torre Annunziata, giovedì 10 i licei B. Munari di Acerra e Margherita di Savoia di Napoli. 

Si va avanti anche la settimana successiva. Lunedì 14 ottobre sarà la volta del liceo G. Moscati di Sant’Antimo, martedì 15 il liceo A. Rosmini di Palma Campania con la Scuola Sec. di I grado A. De Curtis, mercoledì 16 il liceo M. Bassi di Napoli con la Scuola Sec. I grado G. Verga, giovedì 17 il liceo U. Boccioni – F. Palizzi di Napoli con l’I.C. G. Falcone e infine venerdì 18 il liceo Coreutico U. Boccioni – F. Palizzi di Napoli. 

Gli alunni dei licei musicali e coreutici si esibiranno il 21 giugno 2020 negli Scavi archeologici di Ercolano e nella Reggia di Portici in occasione della Festa europea della Musica.

Impegnati per la realizzazione del progetto, oltre alla Città Metropolitana, promotrice dell’iniziativa, anche la Fondazione Teatro di San Carlo, la Fondazione Teatro Trianon Viviani, la Fondazione Cives-Mav, il Parco archeologico di Ercolano, il Dipartimento di Agraria dell’Università degli Studi di Napoli ‘Federico II’ con sede nella Reggia di Portici, il Conservatorio di Musica San Pietro a Majella e i Licei Musicali e Coreutici dell’area metropolitana di Napoli.

Dennis Smith says vertical leap increased by eight inches after ACL tear

In addition to being the new future of the Dallas Mavericks, Dennis Smith Jr. may also be Bionic Man.

Speaking with reporters on Friday after being drafted by the Mavs with the No. 9 pick the day before, Smith said his vertical leap increased by eight inches after his 2015 ACL tear, per Isaac Harris of The Smoking Cuban.

While the feat is seemingly unheard of, it probably has something to do with Smith’s physical makeup. A November feature by Aaron Torres of FOX Sports revealed that Smith has an extra ligament in his knee (something that only about 20 percent of all humans have) and quoted Smith’s father as saying that he was dunking within two weeks of having surgery.

Now Smith is ready to join the list of Texas team athletes with absurd verts, and he should be a godsend for the Mavs, who have arguably not had a truly explosive point guard in the whole of the Rick Carlisle era.
