why did you choose your url?

my normal social media accounts are all sleepyfacegrace because it was a sneaky little gallavich reference i decided to use when i joined twitter to talk about shameless US lol then i wanted to update my tumblr url from something that was much more superwholock 2013 tumblr and i was neck deep in my brooklyn 99 hyperfixation so sleepy-santiago was born.

Okay honey give us the reviews of the movies that you watch yesterday 🙈🧡

Honestly, I was a little scared as to how you knew I watched a shit-ton of movies yesterday but then I remembered I posted about it so, uh, here we go, here is a review of everything I watched yesterday. 

Reviewing the Many Things I Watched Yesterday

1. Mamma Mia- Here We Go Again (2018)

I love this movie better than the original. There’s less of Sophie, I guess? She just gets on my nerves. However, I love Lily James as young Donna and the tales of her travels as well as the many ABBA songs that weren’t in the first movie. When I Kissed the Teacher, Why Did It Have To Be Me and Waterloo are literally the best ever. Then there’s Cher. I love Cher, no matter how much autotune. The story and the fashion and the cinematography (you’ll hear me talk about this a lot) is very pretty. I cried a lot at it in many different parts, so uh, yeah. 

2. The Haunting Of Bly Manor (2020)

The Haunting series is probably one of my favourite Netflix Original shows. Hill House is also great, but Bly Manor has my heart. You’ll notice I have Dani from Bly Manor as my pfp. A wlw love story hidden behind horror with twists and turns and tales and puzzle pieces that fall so perfectly together. The gardener and the au pair... it’s all I want. It’s perfectly splendid. How all ends are tied is amazing, but it leaves me heartbroken every time. Please note that I watched the last episode only yesterday because I was already watching it for the 4th, yes, the 4th time. 

3. Shadow and Bone (2021)

I’d been hearing a lot about this from my booktok friends so I tried watching it and just couldn’t really find anything too interesting about it. I watched 17 minutes of the first episode and there was no Ben Barnes, so I quit it. It seemed a little like Avatar fanfic was made into a book, then into an adaptation. I might try it again another day, but really, meh. 

4. Horse Girl (2020)

Truth be told I was just looking for another movie and searched up Matthew Gray Gubler on Netflix and that’s when Horse Girl popped up. I’d heard about it and thought it was a movie about horse riding and soon found out it wasn’t. It’s about this peculiar woman who is kind-hearted and works in an art store and she keeps having these dreams where she’s in a white room laying next to two others. She begins to theorize about clones and aliens and soon finds herself losing time and gaining it and then twisted things happen... it’s honestly one of my favourite movies now. Matthew had a minor role as a character in a cheesy TV show the main character liked and I kinda accepted that until near the end she starts hallucinating that she’s having sex with him and I was literally hyperventilating and not expecting that. The movie overall is so twisted and good, y’all need to watch it. 

5. Suburban Gothic (2014)

I had to turn it off good ways in, but I watched a sufficient amount of it to kinda see what it’s about. It’s filmed with an orange-ish tint and I can’t really explain it, but the humour in it is kind of... oddball, but expressionlessly funny. It’s good but in the way that you know some people who arent you would hate it. When Kat came onscreen (I’ve been in love with her since I was 10) I audibly fucking gasped. The dynamic onscreen with them is hilarious. The whole thing is like... if Edgar Wright was drunk, high, and half-dead while directing it. (No hate to the director Richard Bates Jr.)

Yeah, so that was it for yesterday. As you could tell I really had nothing else to do and I will probably go finish watching Suburban Gothic and hope I get to see some sort of sex scene between Kat and MGG <3
