TERRIBLE AT COMMUNICATING. We all know Keith is stubborn and easily overwhelmed with a short temper. He doesn’t really know how to talk to people without getting angry. He feels that bc he has a hard time explaining exactly what he means, people never understand him and that makes him mad.

Bro isn’t scared of anything…and that low key scares everyone else. Like…who isn’t afraid of anything? The whole team has tried sooooo hard to figure out what will get Keith to jump out of his skin and scream like a child but to no avail… Boy just doesn’t flinch, doesn’t care, couldn’t care less about bugs and rodents and clowns and heights or anything like that.

Wears his gloves in the shower sometimes. Like wtf ???

Also bc he is not afraid of anything, boy will protect his friends/family/partner SO HARD. He will verbally AND physically tear someone apart just for looking at you the wrong way. Very protective and caring but in a good way ya know?

Actually very selfless and not self-centered in the slightest. Keith is very giving and helpful, despite his tough exterior, he’s very caring, observant and considerate. He’ll give the shirt off his back to someone in need. He’s always down to help others. Ugh Sweet heart ❤️‍🔥

Obvi his biggest red flag is how flirty he is. Boy will flirt with anything that breaths and that can get really annoying sometimes and affect the rest of the team.

Jealous AS FUCK. Like the petty jealous type. Lance is the kind of guy to pretend he has a partner back home just bc some alien girl he was flirting with said she had a partner already. He’s like “OH YEAH? Wow cool me too, same same, yeah….” But homie’s ego is a bit sore now…

Lies a lot. Lance just panics sometimes and tells a lie. He knows it’s wrong and he always feels guilty after lying to someone but it always just slips out. His mouth moves faster than his brain most the time.

Green Flags ✅

THE BEST HUGGER/CUDDLER OMFGGGGGG. Lance is the best hugger and cuddle buddy ever, period, end of story, try to change my mind. His long arms always stretch fully around the recipient’s torso and he squeezes tight enough to make you feel warm but not smothered. Usually will rest his chin on the other person’s head if they’re short enough (so Pidge obvi).

Very aware of other’s moods/body language/tone of voice. Everyone thinks Lance is “the dumb one” but he’s actually very in tune with what’s going on in the moment, what’s going on around him. I think he can tell how others feel the second he sees them. Good intuition kinda thing. An empath for sure.

Very considerate and often remembers the little things about people. Does he remember what he learned in class just a couple days ago? Pffft heck no! Does he remember everyone’s birthday, every year and get them a very thoughtful gift? HELL YEAHH I LOVE THIS SWEET BOY OMFG 🩵

Maybe he could seem too nice at first…? Like when someone is nice but ur like “are you for real? Or are you fake and evil and you’re hiding something?” I think Shiro could be perceived as being fake nice at first.

Lowkey kinda moody and can get snappy very easily. Pidge is a sweet heart and very smart and a good team player but she’s also stubborn and will yell to get her point across or make herself heard (she’s an Aries…what’d you expect?)

Sometimes very conceited and braggy about how smart she is. Like yeah Pidge, we know you’re a genius and you could code in your sleep. WE GET IT. UR SMART. GEEZ 😒

Pidge is so baby. Yeah, she can get snappy and braggy sometimes but…SHES SO BABY PLZ FORGIVE HER. She’s just young and stressed okay? Give her a break. She’ll apologize eventually with puppy dog eyes and a soft voice and while she looks adorable, she is being sincere and really wants to resolve this.

Very loyal and determined. I mean look how hard she searched and fought for her dad and brother. She won’t stop for anything or anyone once she has her mind set. Pidge Will never leave you behind and will always turn back to help someone in need.

Androgynous royalty. Pidge is soooo chill about her gender and identity. We love a confident babe 🏳️‍🌈💚

Boy is too scared sometimes. I think Hunk has really bad anxiety and it’s not the anxiety that is the red flag, it’s how he copes with it…which he doesn’t. Hunk let’s his anxiety get the best if him sometimes…but he’s trying.

Honestly…does Hunk really have any other red flags??? Baby boy is so sweet idk 🤷🏻

Over eats to the point of getting sick sometimes…and never learns his lesson. (Me asf)

Obvi his cooking skills!!! Can cook for any occasion, on any cooking surface, in any conditions. Can cook so many different dishes from so many rich cultures around the world! So talented. His food always hits.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST at cheering others up. Soooo funny and silly and kind and relatable. He tries so hard to brighten others’ days when they need it. Will stop what he’s doing just to go cheer up a friend or loved one and watch them smile again.

Interrupts A LOT. In any given conversation, he will interrupt and talk over someone else at least once every minute. Can get really annoying sometimes but in his defense, if he waits too long to speak up, he’ll just totally forget what he was gonna say.

Like Lance, I think Matt would be overly flirty and act like a Fuck boy sometimes. Like bro sit your nerd ass down, that person is SOOO out of your league plz chill.

Can not take anything seriously (unless it comes to his family or his or anyone else’s safety) but day to day, Matt makes so many dumb and inappropriate jokes at the worst times. Ugh 😒

Very brotherly to everyone he considers a friend or family. Protective, constantly checking up on others, making sure they have eaten, asking if they need anything from him. He cares a lot. Bonus points bc he’s a very good brother to his actual sibling too. Aww Pidge and Matt are sibling goals. 🥹

HOT AS FUCK NO MATTER HIS HAIR STYLE/LENGTH. You can fight me on this. Matt is gorg and so is his hair at every single moment throughout the show.

Extremely accepting and open minded. Matt treats everyone he meets equally and never seems phased when he meets others so different from himself. He may ask some questions for the sake of his own curiosity, but would never pass judgment on another person.

It’s late when Lance answers Hunk's video call, he still has a mountain of students' assignments to finish grading but he could always get them done at home or in the morning if he came to school early enough. Sometimes it felt surreal to Lance that he had his life, that he had, speaking with his friends and former paladins didn't make it feel any more real. 

He had been talking to Hunk about intergalactic laws that made it hard for him and Shay to adopt different alien kids that weren't Balmera when the conversation shifted to him. 

"And how is teaching going?" Hunk asked, "Are you still enjoying it?" 

He shrugs a small laugh slipping out, "Let's just say I kind of understand why Iverson was the dick he was to me" he chuckles sadly as that nagging feeling in his chest appears. 

"Lance," Hunk says his name softly, eyes no longer shining with happiness. “ We have talked about it, what he did, the way he treated you, that is not how you treat a kid.” Hunk said, “Or am I wrong? Do you ever try to speak to your students like that? Do you make them feel small and insecure?” 

Lance shrinks into himself, he knows that he would never speak to a kid the way Iverson did to him-  the unnecessary cruelty that man inflicted on Lance, the way he made him feel so sad and lonely not only that but for many years Lance truly thought he had been a useless asset, a seventh wheel, some spare thing that the rest of the team had to deal with him and God was it hard to deal with those feelings but more than anything it had been so much worse to confront his teammates about the way they had made him feel, specially Pidge. 

Pidge and he had been close at the beginning, they were part of the garrison trio with Hunk, they had been friends for a while back then but then after the revelation that she was a girl and Shiro disappearing, she did a 180 and had almost made it her mission to make Lance feel like an idiot and now as an adult he could understand that she was going through her own hell and dealing with her own demons, losing both her brother and father, looking through them in space but it most definitely didn't allow her to speak to him in a way it made him want to never speak again or how every time they interacted he wanted to hide. 

He wishes he could have talked to Allura about it too, even in the short time they were together they never really talked about intimate things like his feelings and his experience in space or… the time he died. He didn't regret, saving Allura but till this day sometimes he wakes up in the middle of the night frightened, surrounded by darkness and the feeling of falling. 

“No,” he whispered and shook his head, “Of course not.” he sighed and wrapped his arms around himself. 

Hunk gives him a small smile, “Have I ever told you how grateful I am for your sister?” he says as he picks up a picture on his desk.

“Huh?” he reacts confused, “Rachel?” he asks, he knew Hunk had asked for Rachel’s help once or twice for diplomatic reasons when dealing with other planets' governments.

Hunk snorts, “ NO, Veronica,” he says putting down the photo, at the new angle Lance could see it was a picture of his family and Hunk at his engagement party.

“Oh? No, I don't think we have ever talked about it.” 

“When Allura died, no one knew how to help you or truly even really speak to you.” Hunk admits with some regret but there is also some acceptance like he had enough time to make peace with it. “What we went through, being kids fighting in a war changed us, and maybe not for the better but it did nonetheless.” He states, “But the way Allura and space change you Lance, it frightened me.” 

Lance froze not knowing how to react to this admission. 

“I had known you for so long but after coming back to earth you had shut yourself and now that years have gone through I can admit that maybe I could have done better on my end but I was also a kid.” he admits with a small smile, “ I had this fear that you were ready to give up and that Allura dying was the last straw, that you would lose everything that made lance, my best friend.” Hunk whispers and there is a sniffle and he can see Hunk whip some tears away. “ No one knew how to talk you through your grief and then you started speaking about the farm and Alluras life and message and what Allura wanted and what you wanted for her memory” 

Lance can't do more than just stare at his hands hearing about this. 

“ I rarely heard about you,” Hunk says and Lance nods feeling the tears build up in his eyes. “ About what you wanted to do”

“But one day on one of our group calls, you talked about Veronica and how she had told you about becoming a pilot teacher and all the help that was needed at the garrison and I saw it for a moment I saw the spark of the boy who found the Blue lion,” Hunk stops and takes a breath. “ Then you got the job and Lance…” He pauses again, “ It was like you were back.” 

Lance remembers he remembers very well how Veronica was the only one who didn't tip-toe around him and his emotions. How she one day burst into his room and ripped his sheets away from him and yelled at him, crying, feeling scared because even tho he wasn't dead she felt like she had lost her brother. That day he got up and spent the whole day at the garrison helping out, by accident meeting the new cadets. It had been love at first sight. He laughs thinking about Allura and his supposed love for her, yeah not even his spouse could rival his love for his job and the kids. 

Lance tries to say something but it gets stuck in his throat and gives Hunk a teary smile, hunk gives him one back, and they stay in silence for a bit when he feels his phone vibrate and there is a new message 

1 new text message 

Hey I know is a late night at the school but the kids are asking for you.

1 new text message 

And I miss you 

1 new text message 

And they are asking for your cooking. 

He snorts and wipes his eyes with his sleeve.

The sound catches hunks attention, “ Everything okay?” he asks but he has a huge smile on his face having a suspicion of who was texting him. 

“Yeah yeah dude,” he answers with a bright smile and a more cheerful tone.

“ Your other job?” Hunk jokes, amusement, and endearment in his tone. 

“Well you know what they say,” he shrugged, “ Being a dad is a full-time job even when you already have a full-time job,” he says packing some stuff in his bag, to him seems like he had done enough work for today and honestly the only thing he wanted was going home and be with his family. 

His kids and his spouse.

Hunk laughs and observes Lance getting ready to leave, he smiles proudly at his best friend. 

“You know Hunk,” he says looking at his best friend leaving on the desk, “I'm also grateful for my sister,” he says. “If it wasn't for her who knows where I would be,” 

Hunk decides to avoid thinking of that, “ I don't know buddy but you are here, you are happy and that is the most important thing.” 

“ Yeah, you are right,” he says, “ I'll see you, buddy, I expect you to come over soon, I miss you,” he says honestly. 

“I will try my best to be home soon,” he replies, “ Love you, buddy,” 

“ Love ya, buddy,” he answers and hangs up the call.

After he presses the button, he stays there thinking, where would he be if Veronica hadn't dragged his ass out of his grief? Would he be happy? Would he be alone? No partner and no kids? Would he have a purpose or a career? 

He shakes his head and smiles even when some tears make it out and go down his cheeks. ‘

He is happy, very happy. He has proved everyone who doubted him wrong. 

He is very successful as a teacher and earth's best snipper, he is the favorite teacher and sometimes the favorite parent. 

He is no seventh wheel, he was voltrons blue paladin. 

He breathes in calming his urge to cry and looks down at his phone with a picture of his kids. 

And if he feels a very cool sensation surround him almost as if blue was there again with him, hugging him. That's just a bonus to how good he feels after his conversation with Hunk.

Admittedly, my only engagements with the fanbase, outside of a rogue Youtube recommendation, have been on Tumblr and Archive Of Our Own. And, with K/L being, by far, the most popular ship, and Lance and Keith being the most popular characters on both of these sites, I've been inundated with a lot of... "questionable" opinions on Shiro. (People pretending they don't hate him while espousing the nastiest ableist, ageist, homophobic rhetoric based on absolutely nothing but the versions of these characters they've fabricated in their heads.) I don't use TikTok, but everything I've seen in screenshots and reposts on Tumblr and Youtube indicates that it is a cesspit of the worst ignorance, sensationalism, pettiness, immaturity, and puritanism from Tumblr and Twitter congealed into one massive lake of sewage and sludge.

The people who despise Shiro are definitely indulging in some sort of substance. How else do you explain looking at this man,

and deciding that he's an old, "broken", "monster"?

(It shouldn't be a point of pride for these people to regurgitate the exact language of Shiro's abuser.)

I can understand if Shiro isn't someone's cup of tea. We don't choose the favorite character, the favorite character chooses us. Maybe they find his quiet, reserved personality unappealing because they prefer louder, flashy, hyperactive types, or comic relief. That's fine. But, people who despise Takashi Shirogane are completely out of touch with reality.

I found out apparently DreamWorks made a whole ass other scene/script for Adam/Shiro in the flashback where they're best friends and have been flight partners for four years

And while that sucks just imagine with me two scenarios:

1) Adam still dies and Shiro remembers more of his time with Adam because he never got to tell his best friend how he actually felt despite everyone around them (Keith included) saying that the feelings were mutual but they never got together. Shiro possibly wishing that Adam would ask for Shiro to stay for him. Adam dying thinking his best friend and love of his life is dead. Back in their shared space, Shiro finds a journal and in it are multiple love letters/confessions from Adam to Shiro throughout the years. The second to last one was either pre/post Kerberos with Adam wondering if he's too late to confess, would Shiro stay if he asked? But how could he ask that of his best friend? The last one being just hours prior to Adam being sent out with the other MFE's and Adam admitting that he still loves Shiro after hearing that Shiro is still alive but having the feeling that their last interaction prior to Kerberos was their last one and he wishes Shiro all the happiness in the world.

2) Adam doesn't die. He and Shiro reunite with Keith teasing them bc he's a little brother of course he's going to tease his big brother and his brother's crush. The two talk and get together but keeping it on the down low until after the battle. After all, neither knows if either or both will survive this and they don't want any pity looks if one of them doesn't survive. Shiro is safe in the Atlas, he survives. No one knows about Adam for hours after the final strike, Shiro is worried and only Keith is keeping him sane. Shortly after sundown James, Ryan, Ina and/or Nadia comes in with news of a survivor just miles outside of the Garrison that the rest of the aforementioned found and are bringing back to base. Adam.

Shiro rushes to the infirmary where Hunk, Allura, Lance, and Pidge are wondering why Shiro is jumpy with Keith and Matt remaining calm knowing well that if they freak it only make Shiro worse. Matt makes a comment about Shiro being worried for his boyfriend (Matt's known them for a while and introduced Keith to the idea of tormenting them both with teasing with Matt teasing Adam more bc Keith took Shiro). The others look at Matt for clarification, he gives Adam's name which Pidge freaks put about bc Adam was her favorite teacher and her advisor - also Adam knew who Pidge was and called her Katie when it was just them - and she never knew that Adam knew Shiro or her brother.

Adam is allowed one to two guests at a time and everyone looks at Shiro. Shiro is the only one that goes in and remains all night. The next morning the two go and meet the others at breakfast (Adam discharged), their hands clasped together behind their backs. While the others are still unaware that Adam and Shiro are a thing Matt starts saying *how the biggest flirt from their time at the Garrison has met his match. Which confuses including Keith so Matt goes on about how Shiro was a completely different person during their time as cadets at the Garrison.

*I've seen some people say that Shiro was a lot like Lance when he was younger (I don't know if that's something that was said by the creators or a strong fanon but I love it either way) and I love that so much. I just imagine that it stuns Keith for a minute like he cannot look at Shiro without imagining him saying one of Lance's pick-up lines.

Imagine…

AU where Katherine Holt has a massive crush on Lance, from afar. She is socially awkward because she skipped a few grades and now is the youngest person at the college/university. She gets recruited by Coran for his robotics club and there she meets Allura. Allura instantly wants to be friends but Katherine is shy and self conscious. She’s used to being in the background, the brains behind the curtain so to speak. Allura is patient though, she knows how it feels to be different. So she chips away at her walls. Besides she doesn’t want to change her just change everyone else’s perspective…especially Katherine’s. Once she finds out about Katherines crush on Lance she decides to use that line to tug.

Katherine is smart, witty and a bit devious. Unknown to Alllura, Katherine also goes by Pidge and is currently a consultant for her brother and his partner who works for the FBI. She does a lot of the computer work with Matt. Initially Shiro was very against Pidge helping but after getting to know her, he can’t help but be impressed. Hell, he’s half in love with her and knowing she doesnt connect well with people her age, he deliberately hangs out with both the Holts. Hiijinks ensure and their bond helps Pidge blossom.

Meanwhile, Allura starts dating the new guy at school-Lotor. Who has some conflicts with Lance and his friend Hunk. It’s around this time that Lance starts to notice Katherine, who he quickly nicknames Katie. She’s tiny, quiet and supportive. She always seems to be smiling and laughs at all his jokes. As Allura starts to hang out with Lotor, Katie falls into hanging out with Lance and Hunk. Hunk loves her, she eats all his cooking and she is wicked smart. They join the robotics club and are soon winning much of the competitions. Until they join an underground fight club for their robots.

The only reason they are doing the whole underground fighting however is because Pidge had overheard how her brother hit a bunch of blocks on the current case. So she dropped breadcrumbs for Lance to follow, which he of course ran for and somehow it was his idea to compete. It’s here that Lance sees his old nemeses Keith.

But Pidge has done her research and she knows that Keith is old friends with Shiro-so she instantly puts him in the friend column, especially after doing a deep five into his history via some hacking. Fortunately, he’s friends with Acxa who is friends with Lotor who Pidge believes is somehow connected to all this.

Paths are crossed. And while Keith doesn’t hate Lance, he does make his presence known. So Keith naturally observes Katie, who is kinda dating Lance. The more he watches the more he doesn’t understand. How does everyone thing Katie is so sweet and nice? She’s sarcastic. She’s tricky. She’s suddenly all he can think about. He’s constantly searching for that moment, that glint she gets when she does something…un-Katie like. But is like he’s the only one who sees. It drives him mad. He’s obsessed.

One day, he sees some guys hassling her and he goes to step in, not even thinking she could take care of herself. But boy does she. She wipes the ground with the guys and Keith witnesses it all. He calls her on it. She shrugs it off as self defense, duh.

But now Katie realizes Keith is onto her. What to do…she needs help and she hasn’t told her brother…yet. Then suddenly there’s a raid at the fight, and chaos ensues. At some point Keith is trapped and he’s ready to bash some heads when Katie appears. She pulls him along to one of her preplanned exit plans when she sees an opportunity to hack the mainframe that is usually heavily guarded. Decided she has to go with her gut, she tells Keith and of course he’s in. With zero thought. Watching her, Keith grins, satisfied with the knowledge he was right. She was so much more than she appeared.

Obviously a slow burn where Keith fell first, and Katie realizes, a crush is so much different than love…

Ok so... I wake up this morning with a crazy idea.

I was wondering about a fic when all the Voltron team are youtubers and they're youtubers name are like the originals paladins names. Maybe Keith is Zarkon, Lance is Alfor, Hunk is Gyrgan, Allura is Meleanor (idk parallels and the ship), Matt is Trygel, Romelle is Blayts (?) and Pidge is Honerva?????? And when they play minecraft the story is like the original paladin ones?????? PARALLELS, PARALLELS EVERYWHERE

Lance shut his book softly, marking the page and placing it under his chair. Smiling when he recognized a pair of boots. 

“Hey Keith.” Lance claimed softly. The purple eyes of the man before him reaching his.   “Lance.” Keith wasn’t much of a smiler. But Lance is okay with that. 

His head pounds with a migraine. And there’s a black spot in the corner of his vision. He can barely make out half of Lucif’s face. But the long haired male -longer than Keith’s hair, so much so that it’s worn in a thick brain that reaches his stomach- gave him a worried brow anyways. His brown eyes giving a dark flash to red.

Lance decides to ignore it for now. They’ll only end up talking about it later. 

“So Keith! How about I decide to introduce you to everyone. I think you’ve met Pidge and Shiro by now. But it’s still nice to get to know everyone.”

“It’s good to meet you again Keith.” Pidge reaches out to shake the half galran’s hand. “And look. If you get tired of Lance, like, I know he’s your boyfriend and all? But come to me. He knows I’ll kick his ass.”   “Hey wait!”   “Nope. Lance, I know that Keith came with us to complete the Voltron lions and all, mostly because you’re a pining idiot who the second he meets someone cute at a bar, stalks them,” lance quickly squawked his resentment to the statement. “But I’m sure the Blade faction would be happy to have him back if anything happens.”

”Thanks for the hospitality then?” Keith gave a teasing smile at Pidge, who smirked in return. Lance felt his chest swell at the smile.

It was kinda true. Lance had first seen Keith at a bar. And since then, frequented the bar hoping to see him again. Luckily things worked in his favor and a little drunken flirting on his part, turned into a drunken number exchange for the both of them. 

“Okay well, you know Pidge. She rides the green lion. If it wasn’t more obvious past her clothes.” Lance huffed a laugh. “Anyways. The green lion has given Pidge the ability to harness energies. She uses plants as an extension of herself. She’s a genius in her own right and a caffeine addicted techie. But seriously she never sleeps. Seems to think she doesn’t need it when she can just summon energy. But forgets that her powers are only an addition to herself.” Lance finished with a pointed look towards Pidge. 

Pidge held a blush in her face for a second, embarrassed for being called out. Sonwhat. She had energy to spare! It’s not his call. She’s 20 years old and an adult woman. But before she could give Lance a piece of her mind, he was moving on to the next person. 

“-and he’s the rider of the purple lion. Stars and night and all that stuff. Luckily, he gets his sleep in the day. But Shiro is kinda like the dad friend to all of us? We tease him for it, but I think he appreciates the nickname. It’s not anything mean. It honestly just shows that we’re thankful for what he does. Now, I can’t exactly remember how you two know each other- but, I still think it’s cool.” 

“Thank you, for all of that Lance.” the man in question met Shiro’s statement with a wink. “But it’s also great to see you again Keith. I hope your mother is better now that she’s back on solid ground. 

Oh! That was right. Keith’s mom, a Galran woman and also a member of the Blade, was flying into the planet from a mission when a recent storm surged through her ship and she nearly crashed. She would have if Shiro hadn’t been patrolling the skies that Night. Lance wished he could have been there to help.

“I’m sorry I wasn’t there. I was supposed to help out payroll that night for the storm but-”

“But you were sick. Remember? Besides, Shiro, Allura and I had it under control. You needed the rest. I wouldn’t say you’re as bad as Pidge. But you don’t know when to chill.”

”Hey! I’m like- the best at chilling!” Lance crossed his arm with a huff. Turning away from his brown eyed friend and accidentally reaching the gaze of his confused boyfriend. Keith was raising a brow in his direction. 

“I mean. This is Lucif. Not like Lucifer or anything. He’s really a good guy. He has the black lion. And he like sorts shadows. Helping lost spirits. Fighting against the evil ones. Oh, and he’s like a human lie detector. So careful who you tell your secrets to.” Lance blinked owlishly at Keith. 

“Then we have Lotor. He actually couldn’t make it. But he’s half Galra. Like you. But he’s also a prince? We’re like absolutely sure Zarkon was his great great grandfather or something. But he has the white lion. Whom he named silver because he’s a confusing motherfucker. But he does stuff with the moon and at night. He does a lot of night patrols, like Shiro, so he’s sleeping in right now. He also has this crazy accent. But I’m sure he’ll want to meet you at some point. Though I’ll tell you, as a repercussion of his powers, which we all get, like Pidge and her energy thing,” Pidge rolled her eyes. “Lotor doesn’t have the best vision in the day time. Something about the direct sun and not a reflection of it being too much.” 

He couldn’t help it when he got lost in thought. But he wanted to direct the conversation elsewhere. His ears began to ring as he spoke. But the spotty vision was starting to thankfully fade. 

“Someone else who isn’t here is Matt. He’s Pidge’s older brother. But he wasn’t chosen by a lion for a while. The brown lion is like, all about dirt. I honestly think their whole family is just full of geniuses. Who were for some reason stolen from their phones and computers because their godlike ancestor wanted them to touch some grass.”

Lance chuckled with his eyes closed. Feeling and reaching out for his glass of water. It took him a second for him to register what happened. But the sound of glass shattering told him he knocked it over. 

Eyes staring down. Vision fuzzing just slightly. One hand still and frozen from where it  He felt his other hand cramp up uncontrollably and uncomfortably into an angled claw, hidden under the table. Joints locking and skin stretching over his fingers tighter than he thought they could.

He finally blinked again.

“Oops..” 

Keith was still staring at him. But it didn’t looked worried, like Lucif’s, so he wasn’t out for long. He gave a heavy blink and turned to allura. A gentle smile forced into his features.

”This is Allura. I’m pretty sure she’s like an Altean princess. But she has the pink lion and does a bunch of really cool healing stuff. Also, I’m not really sure if she’s actually a lesbian, or I’m just not her type. But either way, she’s a part of our little family all the same.”

Keith was struggling not to laugh, eyes already rolling. Allura looked way too used to Lance’s flirting. But maybe that was a good thing. He stole a glance at Lance, neutral face breaking into the slighted of a smile anyways. 

“Now, not that I’m jealous. I could totally date anyone I wanted. Like you. But this other beauty at our table.” “Hey!” “Is Romelle. Allura’s girlfriend. Romelle rides the teal lion. And decorates his mane with bows as you’ve probably seen before. But she can speak to animals. Like, all kinds. Even ones shipped in from other planets. It’s really cool.”

“Well I know that I appreciate it.” Coran said striding into the room.  A tray full of sandwiches in one hand, the other tray loaded full of lemonade and club sodas. He quickly set them down on the table. Everyone grabbing their share of the good and drink. “Hello Keith. I’m Coran. I’m sure you’ve heard plenty about me.” Keith glanced at Lance. “But I’ll have you know that I’m happy with what I do. I might not be a Voltron hero, but being able to watch the lot of you improve is just enough for me.” Coran fiddled with the collar of his shirt.

An orange tabby cat pawed into the room and did a lap between Coran’s legs. Keith was still just impressed by the mustache the man maintained. But an adorable cat stole his attention and Coran chuckled. “Ah, this is Tang. Lance got me this guy so I wouldn’t feel left out not having a feline friend. Now, he’s no Alfor. But he’s one of the best friends a man could ask for.” 

“Oh! Speaking of best friends, this is Hunk! My brother from another mother! We’ve been close since diapers. It’s wild. Especially since we were both chosen to be part of Voltron and stuff. But I couldn’t ask for anyone better to fight alongside me. he has the yellow lion. Which honestly has only made him stronger and kinda than he was before. He’s like the hulk mixed with Teddy bear. Best honest combination.”

“What about you?” Keith mumbled around a mouthful of bread and lettuce. Everyone else turned to him. Oh lord.

”Well. I still haven’t told you about your own lion. Though I know you have your own personality. The red lion has quite a temperament.” 

Lance hoped he didn’t look as dizzy as he felt. He massaged his still locked hand. Hoping to relieve its ache even before the muscles eased back. Wishful thinking at most. 

“I’m actually impressed. Red is pretty sassy and picky. So you should be honored you were picked. Or we might never have completed Voltron. Now, I haven’t seen her abilities in full action, but something about the way her mane -yes, her mane- glows with heat and fire, I’m pretty sure she’s got like flame and stuff. And smoke. Maybe she’s like a phoenix.” 

“Lance. That’s not what I asked. I already sorta figured that out for myself.”

”Oh well. I’m Lance. I was the first one chosen by a lion. I can produce things like water and ice from my hands. And kinda tame storms. Like, the water is pretty cool. Since I grew up near a beach. But it’s pretty fun to be the one that can mess around with electricity!” 

Lance shot a series of sparks through his hand. His veins glowing blue and his eyes reflecting the light show. Little Litchenburge marks flickering across his tanned skin and up his arm till they disappeared as the ball of lightning died. 

“Oh my god!” he whispered out excitedly. “That actually worked!” He flexed his fingers and wrist experimentally. It fixed his hand! Oh my god. Perfect!

“What actually worked?” Keith said across the table. But Lance wasn’t listening. “Lance. Um. Lance?” 

And that’s when they noticed the twitch in Lance’s hand. When they noticed the way his mouth hung just barely open. How his eyes had rolled scarily into the back of his head. 

“Oh my shit! Fuck!” Lucif stood up and faced around the other side is the table. Keith just barely making out the words “no no no… not again!” from his lips as he passed him. 

Again? 

Lance begun to Seize.
