From one Jack simp to another, THANK YOU for your takes and advocating for him, I enjoy reading them all 🙏😭 My hot take is that I have a bit of mixed feelings over Jack being a New Years SSR; I was hoping he'd be a SR. I'M HAPPY OF COURSE!! He looks amazing and it's been so long since his last event SSR, but... I do consider New Year events kind of like mini filler events like MasterChef. They're just not interesting, nothing of substance happens and it's not lore-driven. I think it's kind of a waste to put Jack as a main SSR in an event like this. The cons of Jack being a SSR is that it will cut off the chances of him being the main SSR of a story-driven event for a good while. I was hoping he'd be a SSR for the 2025 halloween event (he had a SR and R card so he's due to a SSR) but it's highly unlikely that a character gets 2 event cards in the span of less than a year. Uh, if they're not the marketable housewardens. (EVENT SSRs I mean. Not counting Club cards or book 7 exclusive cards.) I guess my hopes for a Jack hometown event for 2025 are shattered 😭 I'm still salty that Tapis Rouge ever happened. Vil, who already had 2 EVENT SSRs and was due to getting ANOTHER ONE SOON (Tsum 3 with a Malleus, Vil and Idia SSR was already a certainty) had a "hometown" event before Jack. It makes no sense to me since; we already HAVE a snow-white themed event (Haverston) and didn't need a second one and Vil only spoke about his father like 2 or 3 times in voice lines. Jack on the other hand constantly brings up his family and his siblings whenever he can and spoke about them MULTIPLE times. He deserved this, idc.

Uh, let's hope the groovy for Jackie's new year SSR is good and not another disappointment 😭 and hey, at least he is guaranteed to appear in 2025 halloween event! As a SR I hope... They wouldn't give them ANOTHER R card, right? R-Right??

I understand this on every level.

On one hand we are so desperate for Jack to get more focus that we will take literally anything and appreciate every scrap we are given because DANG THAT CARD LOOKS AMAZING--me being especially glad there are no Pomefiore cards this round to go with it. But on the other hand New Years events aren't that special and it feels like a very lazy way to throw Jack a bone because if the game updates for long enough, all of the characters could theoretically get a New Year's SSR.

Our boy is getting something, but he still deserves better. The game is so prone to neglecting him that I fear they'll say, "Well that's our Jack feature for the next three years!" You're right, a hometown event for him is basically out of the question for this year, but Halloween may still be on the table because of how far away it is! The spacing may be just enough for them to give him to us this year! Please please please pleasepleasepleaseplease. . .

The way I did these prompts is a little different than last time, so let me explain real quick.

I was inspired by another person I saw here on Tumblr that did their prompts based on song titles, so I decided do something similar, but with episode titles from some of the TV shows I watch instead! This is also the perfect way to give everyone a chance to have a bit more free reign with their imagination.

The Bell is a novel by up-and-coming author Conor Quinn of Spiddal, Ireland, detailing Shane Byrne's experience with breaking from what he's known his whole life and pushing past what's hurt him to find something new and better. Directing the film is Ella Barber, a graduate from McGill University who decided to take on the project after the successful release of her first feature film Amok. Writing the film is Matilda Lovelace, who you may recognize as the screenwriter from such films as The Fall of the House of Usher and Frankenstein. The composer is one you may recognize, Thomas Davies, discovered with his self-composed compositions on Youtube, and then Tiktok. Recently, he has composed music for Ella Barber's movie Amok and the TV show Nebulae. The lead actor of the film, cast just recently, is Elric Aagaard, who recently starred in the critically acclaimed film adaptation of The Call of Cthulhu. To round out this star-studded production, it has been rumored that Claire Ricci has been brought on to write and sing the film's lead single, Tolling ( The Bell ). Ricci has just come home after doing a sold-out international tour, and sources close to her say she's excited to dedicate her time to a project that 'hits so close to home.' The Bell will be in theaters in the fall of 2025.

Conor Quinn: The author of The Bell. Shy, awkward, loves to read and write. Excited that his cottage has electricity and running water for the first time since his uncle died. Played by Paul Mescal.

Ella Barber: The director of The Bell. Talented and proud of it. Discovered after the lead actor of the play she wrote and directed as a final year project was the son of a producer, who in turn allowed her to turn the play into a successful movie. Played by Sophie Thatcher.

Matilda 'Tilly' Lovelace: The screenwriter of The Bell. A fan of gothic themes and psychological horror. Taken onto the project after Conor expressed his interest in her version of The Fall of the House of Usher to Ella Barber. Likes to crochet in her free time. Played by Phoebe Bridgers.

Thomas 'Tommy' Davies: The composer of The Bell. Can basically play every instrument in an orchestra except for drums. If he were able to, he'd record every part and compile it together but he can't so he just composes and directs it instead. Autistic. Almost always writing music. Played by Harris Dickinson.

Elric Aagaard: The lead star of The Bell. Recently made a change from stage acting to screen acting. Dropped out of college to play Joe Pitt in a Broadway production of Angels in America. A very good cook, as in he could probably win Masterchef if he wanted to/had the time. Played by Bo Burnham.

Claire Ricci: The singer/songwriter of The Bell's lead single. A pop star who's started to lean into more a more indie style. Plays the guitar and piano. Makes one part of an all-girl supergroup. Extremely extroverted. Played by Ella Hunt.

Celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay Makes First Philippine Appearance at Newport World Resorts

World-renowned, multi-Michelin-starred chef and TV personality Gordon Ramsay made his first Philippine appearance last January 20, 2025 at the Newport Resorts World and The Hungry Kat was there to experience it! The By-invitation-only event was attended by over a thousand guests from the restaurant and culinary worlds including F&B leaders, celebrity chefs, food influencers, culinary students, and devoted fans like me.

I have been a big fan of Gordon Ramsay ever since I started watching MasterChef and all his other cooking shows on television. I have dined at several of his restaurants worldwide and we were even one of the first public guest when Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill Philippines opened at Newport World Resorts last September, but I have never seen him in person at his restaurants. That's why when we received the invitation to join this exclusive event, it was an experience we did not dare miss.

The special meet and greet event was held at the Newport Performing Arts Theatre inside the Newport Mall. We went to the venue quite early even though we received the VIP tickets and seat numbers beforehand. Chef Gordon arrived in Manila a day before the event on January 19 and headed straight to his first restaurant in the country at Newport World Resorts. The visit highlighted Ramsay’s dedication to ensuring the success of his team and the warm connection they have built with the local community.

Host Issa Litton opened the program by introducing the world's most popular celebrity chef as he made his first visit to Manila. There was an interview portion where Chef Gordon shared insights into his global empire, reflected on the success of his first Philippine restaurant, and offered a rare glimpse into his journey, creativity, and future aspirations.

“The reception to the Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill here has been extraordinary,” said Ramsay. “The Filipino passion for food is incredible. The Philippines has such a rich culinary heritage, and I’m excited to be part of this vibrant food scene.” Chef Gordon also announced that they are already scouting for three new locations in Manila and may soon be bringing Hell's Kitchen into the country as well.

The event also featured a cooking challenge where celebrity chef Judy Ann Santos, food influencer Ninong Ry, culinary student Danica Lucero, and Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill PH Head Chef Bea Therese Qua presented their unique takes on the Philippines’ iconic dessert, Halo-Halo, to the legendary chef.

Bearing resemblance to Ramsay’s signature Knickerbocker Glory, the dishes showcased the fusion of local ingredients and international flavors, highlighting the innovation and skills of Filipino chefs. It was like a MasterChef show right inside the theatre and everyone was excited to watch it.

After the ten minute time limit, Chef Gordon tasted and judged each of the halo-halo creations and awarded Danica Lucero as the winner. She brought home a signed Gordon Ramsay chef's uniform.
