Today you'll be treated to a new episode of the series "Black Pean-2" at 21.00. p.m. on japanese time and 14.00. p.m. on european time. Don't miss it!
Saeki(Seiyo Uchino) performs emergency surgery on Uesugi Toshikazu(Sakai Masaaki), the chairman of "Uesugi Motors", during the absence of Amagi(Kazunari Ninomiya), but the surgery is interrupted without Saeki performing the ceremony. Chairman Uesugi saves his life after switching to drug treatment, but head nurse Fujiwara(Misuzu Jinno) is worried about Saeki, who seems to be behaving differently than usual. Afterwards, Toshihiro(Yu Shirota), son of Chairman Uesugi and president of "Uesugi Motors", arrives at Tojo University. Toshihiro asks Amagi to fail Chairman Uesugi's operation in exchange for a large sum of money. Father and son had a disagreement over management and Toshihiro wanted to step down as chairman. In fact, Sugai (Yasunori Danda) from Ishin University counselled Toshihiro and planned to use the services of Uesugi Motors' medical department. Meanwhile, Saeki decides to have dinner with Ejiri (Maki Oguro), the deputy director, and Misaki (Minami Tanaka), the clinical trial coordinator. Ejiri, along with a professor at Ishina University, is conducting research on remote treatment using Elkano's medical artificial intelligence, and Saeki supports Ejiri. Misaki is also very interested in remote treatment, but the reason is... Amagi's surgery against Chairman Uesugi is decided on the day of the All Japan Medical Association's presidential election. However, Amagi's direct anastomosis with one hundred per cent probability of success.

Kirin ga Kuru aka Awaiting Kirin
The latest NHK Taiga Historical Drama that I watched but unfortunately only 20 episodes are released as the film productions were halted due to Covid-19.
Like the dramas I’ve watched such as Yae No Sakura and Ii Naotora, it’s great in its own way with its own uniqueness and charms with interesting plots and characters.
It revolves around Akechi Mitsuhide, the man who would one day serve the first unifier of Japan, Oda Nobunaga. He came from a place where they believe that mystical being known as Kirin will one day emerge to signify an era of peace and after countless conflicts, Akechi began to realize that Oda Nobunaga is the man that will unify Japan and end the endless bloodshed between clans. Story is set during the rise of Oda Nobunaga and features Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu in supporting roles as well.
Hiroki Hasegawa plays the role nicely that you can feel the pressure of being caught in the middle and making hard decisions that will turn the tide of history. He looks familiar until I realized he acted in Yae No Sakura. Apart from him, all the other casts nailed their respective characters as well. Here’s the main ones:
Douzou Saito (played by Masahiro Motoki)
To me, this guy stole the show from his first appearance until his last, no matter how brief they may be. You’ll dislike him in the beginning but will grow to love him in the end. Talk about character development. Despite his non-warrior lineage, he became a fierce and cunning one and becoming a Daimyo (Lord).
Kicho (played by Haruna Kawaguchi)
Saito’s daughter and a very close friend to Akechi since childhood who will one day become the wife of Oda Nobunaga, playing an instrumental role in influencing Oda and his followers in making decisions that will decide the fate of the clan. A very strong, dignified and adaptive woman as cunning as her father.
Yoshizo Saito (played by Hideaki Ito)
Saito’s son and Kicho’s eldest brother who wishes control of the clan from his father but has bad relationship with him as feels that he’s being treated unequally among his siblings and objected the political marriage of Kicho to Oda Nobunaga and seeks help from his close friend, Akechi.
Oda Nobunaga (played by Shota Someya )
Known as The Fool of Owari for his unorthodox behavior that does not resembles a Daimyo (Lord). He too has a bad relationship with his father who demands something from him that he is not but is more than eager to prove his worth that he is better than his father or anyone in the domain.
Koma (played by Mugi Kadowaki)
A brave girl with a pure heart who grew up as an orphan in a war-torn village who is later adopted by a local doctor. She became interested in curing others and saving lives that she became his assistant to learn more. She would one day cross path with Akechi, who also believes of the coming of Kirin one day.
Toan Mochizuki (played by Masaaki Sakai)
Koma’s adopted father, the doctor who loves to gamble not only for fun but to earn money quickly to buy for medicines to make up for the loss of running his clinic at cheaper prices or even free to those who are really in need of help. Due to his exceptional medical skills, he inevitably caught the eye of rival lords.
There are several other characters worth mentioning but these are the main ones and also those who caught my attention with their interesting stories. If you’re looking for a Taiga Drama to binge watch, you can start with this one, although the series is incomplete.

Masaaki Sakai @ Garage
From Wikipedia: He took the title role of Son Goku (literally meaning "Descendant Aware of Vacuity", but the Chinese character for "descendant" is a punning reference to a similar character meaning "Monkey") in the 1970s Japanese TV program Saiyūki (lit. "Journey to the West"). This gained him fame in many English-speaking countries in the early 1980s when it was dubbed by the BBC and retitled Monkey.
Sakai is known in Japan as a car enthusiast and regularly took part in the annual Mille Miglia race in Italy with his wife as a co-driver. He won a similar Japanese road race on October 18, 2000 driving a 1947 Cisitalia 202 MM with Inoue Takayuki (the guitarist from Sans Filtre) as co-driver. Due to business commitments he gave up racing in 2002 and gave his Alfa Romeo race car to Masahiko Kondō who is also a singer and race enthusiast.
He still regularly drives his collection of Maserati...
