the three BLACK WOMEN (mary jackson, katherine g. johnson, and dorothy vaughan) that changed astronomy and history.
mary jackson, an accomplished engineer, broke down barriers as the first african american woman to work as an engineer at NASA. her expertise and determination paved the way for future generations of women in the field.
katherine johnson, a brilliant mathematician, calculated the trajectory for john glenn's historic 1962 spaceflight, making her an invaluable asset to NASA's space task group. her calculations were pivotal in ensuring a successful mission
dorothy vaughan was a talented mathematician and the first african-american supervisor at NASA. she was instrumental in introducing computer programming skills to her colleagues, which played a significant role in advancing the space program.
through their dedication and groundbreaking achievements, mary jackson, katherine johnson, and dorothy vaughan left an indelible mark on history, proving that talent knows no boundaries, and that anyone, regardless of their background, can reach for the stars. their triumphs were celebrated in the 2016 film hidden figures, a personal favorite of mine.
i urge you all to read up on these magnificent women and their astronomical (no pun intended) impact on the world. celebrate and encourage black women in STEM. they are magical

A 75-year-old successful business man made a deal with the Devil to travel back into his past to the year 1910. He was upset to learn that despite looking 30 in the past physically he was still 75 and probably wouldn't live long enough to see his financial plans through. All his plans ended up as failures and he was barely able to return to the future with nothing to his name. Worse, due to alterations in his past, he was now a janitor and his former janitor was now the owner of his company. ("Of Late I Think of Cliffordville", The Twilight Zone, TV)

Mary Jackson also served for more than 30 years as a Girl Scout leader, in the 1970s she helped African American children in her community and created a miniature wind tunnel for testing airplanes. She worked as an aerospace engineer for 20+ year, much of her work centered on the airflow around aircraft. She was denied management level positions and in 1979 she left engineering and took a demotion to become a manager of the women’s program at NASA where she sought to improve the opportunities for all women in the organization.

TARGETS (1968) Grade: B-
Interesting script no doubt. The story behind the making of this will make for an excellent doc or movie. The plot will work now oddly.

The shoulders of the women that we stand on are three American heroes; Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughn, Mary Jackson. Without them, we would not know how to reach the stars.

Book Review(Book Club) Hidden Figures By Margot Lee Shetterly
Post by: Jessica Book Club Book Title: Hidden Figures By: Margot Lee Shetterly Cover: The cover is fine. I don’t love it, don’t hate it. It’s a bit plain with just the photo on it. I think the photo could’ve been bigger and the colors a bit more interesting. That said, I hate that there is a movie cover! This book is nothing like the movie and should not be advertised as such. It’s a book and…
