A weird dream about the Marvel Family
me:*peacefully sleeping*
Dream:" Hey what if there's a scenario where Billy was unconscious and he's trapped in a dungeon (maybe Mr Mind put him up to this) and then Mary and Freddy had to wake him with this method:
Strapping him into an electric chair but instead of using normal electdicity, it's from their lightning from shouting the wizard/Captain Marvel's name. So in the end, Captain Marvel appeared in the chair"
me after I woke up: "What the heck?"

Daddy’s Favorite Story | Bucky Barnes (3rd Day of 🎄)
Tumblr media
(Credits to the owner of this pic!)
Hey everyone! I hope you’re enjoying my stories! We’re on day 3 of fluffy Christmas fics! 🩵
Christmas Masterlist <- check out my other holiday fics! ✨
~~~~
“Daddy, can you please read me one more story?” I heard Grace’s voice on the other side of her bedroom door. I held a laundry basket in my hands, almost finished with the household chores for the day. I was about to walk in to ask our 5 year old if she needed anything from mommy before I stopped myself once I realized her dad was in the room.
I smiled to myself at the thought of her and Bucky bonding before she went to sleep. Placing the basket on the floor, my right reached out for the doorknob to take a peek at the loves of my life. Bucky was sat down on her bed, she was lying down with a small pile of her stuffed animals around her. She held onto a goat stuffed animal she got from her uncle Steve for her birthday earlier this year.
“You said that two books ago!” Bucky laughed as she sat up in her bed, getting ready to fight to get her way. “But – But this one is the last one! I promise!” She clasped her little fingers together and looked up at her father, giving him the best puppy dog eyes she could muster. Her blue eyes meeting his own as he tried to resist giving in.
“No, sweetheart, don’t do this to me!” She pouted her lips as he covered his face with his hand. The amount of love he has for his daughter will obviously make it difficult for him to say no to her. “Pleeaassee?” He peeked at her through his fingers and chuckled to himself. “Arghh… fine. You win.” She giggled and got settled into her bed, bringing her blanket closer to her and she watched her father in awe.
“Okay, one more story and you promise me that you’ll go to sleep after this, okay?” He raised an eyebrow as she nodded enthusiastically. I crossed my arms over my chest as I leaned against the doorframe, watching this all play out in front of me. He looked through her small bookshelf and picked one up, inspecting it. He turned to look at her and smiled, tapping onto the cover of the book. “This one is a classic, sweetheart. It’s one of daddy’s favorites.” He opened the book in his hands, cleared his throat and began reading.
“‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house.
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that Saint Nicholas soon would be there.”
Bucky made sure to lean in and show her the pictures. Her little eyes scanned the pages as she held onto her goat stuffie closer to her. I softly smiled to myself, thinking about how lucky I am to have found someone like Bucky to share the rest of my life with. To live a quiet domestic life with.
“The children were nestled, all snug in their beds.”
He leaned in and tickled her stomach as her laughter filled the room. Her cheeks tinted pink as he continued reading her a story for bedtime.
“While visions of sugar plums danced in their heads.
And momma in her ‘kerchief and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.
When out in the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.”
He stood up abruptly and spread his arms out as Grace watched him with anticipation. He walked over to her window and brushed her curtains to sway them back and forth to give as much visual effects as possible.
“Away to the window flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,
Gave a lustre of midday to objects below,
When what to my wondering eyes did appear,
But a miniature sleigh with eight tiny reindeer.”
He quickly looked around her room for a reindeer stuffie, but all he could see was her goat. He grabbed it and made it look as if it was flying. “Daddy, that’s not a reindeer!” Grace laughed. “Whaaattt? No, it totally is!”
“No he’s not!” He bowed his head for a moment and looked up, smiled at her. “Well, let’s just pretend baby, okay?” She giggled and nodded her head.
“With a little old driver so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment he must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
“Now, Dasher! Now, Dancer! Now Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! On, Cupid! On, Donner and Blitzen!”
I couldn’t help but think of how he’s such an amazing father. He’s going all out as best as he can just to make her night. To think we were both so scared to become parents is crazy to me. I don’t know what we were so scared of. Since Grace came into our lives, it’s been nothing but bliss. I can’t imagine our lives without her and I can’t imagine not doing this with Bucky.
“To the top of the porch! To the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!’
As leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the housetop the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof,
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.”
Bucky grabbed her goat and pranced it on her bed, making it look like it was walking closer and closer to her. She smiled as Bucky continued to read the next part of the story.
“As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a pedler just opening his pack.”
He cleared his throat as his voice pitched a little higher than usual as he spoke.
“His eyes—how they twinkled! His dimples, how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard on his chin was as white as the snow.
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke, it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a little round belly
That shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly.”
He walked towards her closet and quickly rummaged through it until he found what he was looking for. He came out with her white scarf wrapped around his mouth to imitate a white beard. Walking back towards his daughter, he reached for her pillow. “Excuse me sweetheart.” She giggled and sat up as she watched him stuff the pillow in his shirt and placed his hands on his belly, letting out a deep laugh. “Ho! Ho! Ho!” Grace burst out laughing as she watched her daddy pretend to be Santa Claus. I brought my hand to my mouth to try to stifle a laugh as I watched him in amusement.
“He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself.
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.”
He leaned in and pinched her nose, smiling as she let out a giggle. Her eyes gleaming with admiration towards her father.
“And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose.
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight —
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”
She cheered at the end of the story as Bucky placed the book down on her bedside table. He laughed and took the pillow out from his shirt and placed it comfortably behind her head. “Did you enjoy the story?” She nodded and yelled out a big “yes!” He slid off her scarf and placed it next to the book.
He leaned in and placed a kiss on the top of her head. “I’m glad you liked it sweetheart.” He brushed a hair away from her face and smiled. “I love you.”
“I love you too daddy. Thank you for reading me a story.”
He chuckled and nodded. “You’re welcome. Now, it’s time to head to bed! It’s late.” He tucked her into bed, placed one last kiss on her forehead and bid her goodnight. He made his way to the door and saw me standing there. “That was a lovely story.” I stated as his face turned a light shade of pink. “Yeah well..” He closed Grace’s door behind him and looked up at me. “How much did you hear?”
“Oh, not much… only all of it.” I smiled at him as he turned to look away in embarrassment. “Oh God.. so, did you see..?” I nodded as he covered his face with his hands. “I especially liked the part where you pretend to be Santa. That was a nice touch.”
“Hey, I was just trying to give her visuals. What I did was amazing.” He embraced me from behind and placed his hands on my stomach, rubbing small circles. “Of course it was amazing! I’m not saying it wasn’t.” He placed a soft kiss on my cheek as I placed my hands on top of his. We stood there, enjoying the silence between us for we don’t get much of that nowadays. I closed my eyes for a moment and softly smiled. We both sighed in content.
“She’ll be here in a few months.” I quietly spoke as he hummed, his hand not leaving the small bump in my belly. “I can’t wait to meet her.”
“Maybe you could do what you did for Grace tonight again when she gets here.” I chuckled. “It could become a Christmas family tradition.” He chuckled as I pulled back so I could turn to look at him. “I’ll think about it.” He leaned down and placed a kiss upon my lips before pulling away and bending down to grab the laundry basket.
“Head on up to the couch, doll. I’ll finish cleaning up. You just relax and get a movie ready for us to watch, okay?” I nodded my head as we both made our way to the living room.
“Y/N?”
I turned to look at him, my hand instinctively going towards my belly. “Yeah?” He just smiled at me, the kind of smile that could make anyone weak in the knees.
“I love you.” I couldn’t help the blush that rushed to my cheeks. How is it that he’s still able to do that to me? I will never know. I smiled back at him.
“I love you more.”
He scrunched his nose and chuckled. “I think that’s up for debate.” He bit his lip, trying to hide his smile as he turned away to go finish cleaning up the house. Soon our household will go from 3 to 4 and who else knows how bigger it’ll get after that. I’m not worried though, because I’ve got the best partner to do this with. Nothing could be better than this.
I can’t wait for our family to grow.
I can already see that this season of Maisel is not shaping up to be popular, but as someone with limited emotional investment in how it turns out (I love Lenny! Don’t get me wrong! It would be great if they changed history but I’m in no way holding my breath! …also I don’t mind Joel and I actually quite like him sometimes, which I know is a very unpopular opinion but so be it) I very much enjoyed being back in the Sherman-Palladino patter.
And I especially enjoyed hearing the Sherman-Palladino patter back in the mouth of a certain handsome man.
Technically Thanos’ goal to greatly decrease the human po[ulation was successful no matter the fact that that the snap got reverversed. Image all the situations that would occur if half of humanity disappeared, planes crashing because the pilots are gone, trains crashing, babies left without parents with no other immediate family, leaving the baby to suffer through neglect as it meets its end. All the chaos caused from humanity disappearing would result in serious injury and death to a large amount of people that were not snapped. Even the political unrest caused by certain individuals of power disappearing and then the chaos once half of the world is back and their societies are no loaner equipped to five food and shelter to that many people. Despite the snap being reversed, the amount of collateral damage caused my half of humanity disappearing and then coming back would result in a large amount of death and greatly reduce the human population, making thanos’ plan to reduce the human population a success no matter the fact that the snap was able to be reversed. Even taking that plane crash example again, there is no plane anymore and these people are just respawned into the air and then loose oxygen and fall to their deaths and all the people that were in a car or driving a car responding into oncoming traffic, their deaths mirroring the deaths of passengers that died on impact of a crash when the drivers mysteriously disappeared into thin air.
Twas the week of Halloween, when all through the halls, not one topic was ruling from Gravity Falls
A historic turn of events! In this last Week in Review of 2024, Mouthwashing tops the list and has—get this—more items on here than Gravity Falls! WowOwow. The Phandom is celebrating 15 years of Dan and Phil being chaotic next to each other, and it's been a big week for 9-1-1 fans who were treated to a wild ride in the Halloween episode "Masks." Fans of Agatha All Along got a double-whammy of Halloween, with a castle on the way playing dress up with Agatha and Billy, and the identity of the personification of Death revealed. And so, our national holiday of Halloween is now well and truly upon us—keep an eye out for some nice and friendly and not at all spooky polls haunting your dash this week. Happy Halloween, and stay safe out there (we don't want anyone contracting curses, ok?). This is Tumblr's Week in Review.
Hey fellow losers I’m back with more beta huntlow fluff. I know I’ve written some Paulina/William stuff before but this is based on the most recent even more beta huntlow we got from the leaked show bible. So we’ve gone from awkward little prince and fumbling quirky girl to feral witch hunter and equally feral creepy plant girl and I also love them too so hope ya like it 💛💚
———
“And if the water boils here how do all the plants live?” William asked, balancing on the fence along Paulina’s garden as she did some maintenance and planted some new seeds they had found in the forest. She never tired of answering his many questions about the demon realm, especially about the flora and fauna.
“The same way they do in the human realm I suppose,” she said with a small shrug. “I think the stems here have more coating than the plants you’ve seen, but a lot of plants close up during the rain to protect their petals.”
“Interesting,” he said, jumping down to look at her work closer. “How do you persuade the ones with teeth not to bite you?”
“I just keep them well feed, they don’t nip unless they’re hungry or scared,” she said. “But feeding them the food that helps keep their teeth healthy is tricky because it smells kinda gross.”
“They can smell it?”
“They sure can.”
“Fascinating,” he marveled, looking at them closer to see if he could understand how.
“Can I ask you a question?” Paulina asked, wiping some stray dirt from her glasses.
“Of course you may,” replied William, sitting on the ground beside her.
“Why are you still so upset with Luz?” She asked, changing topics. She saw his body language shift.
“I think it’s very clear why,” he said softly.
“You know she didn’t wake you up early on purpose,” she said gently. “She’s really a very nice person, and she genuinely thought she was helping you. Is there anything she can do to prove she’s sorry?”
“I’m not upset that she woke me from my slumber, I'm upset that she was able to,” sighed William, hugging his knees.
“What do you mean? Do you not want to be here?” Paulina asked, hoping it wasn’t the case. Selfishly, she liked having him around.
“When it happened… my uncle told me I’d awaken to a better world. That the suffering and confusion I was around would be gone. That I’d be awoken gently by my…”
“By who?”
“… by my true love.” He said under his breath, almost as though he was embarrassed to utter the words.
“Oh, so you think that Luz is your-.”
“Ew! Bleh, no!” He exclaimed in disgust. “Er, sorry that was rude. No, no I don’t think that. But I think she able to awaken me the way she did because I don’t have a true love.”
“Oh,” Paulina breathed, seeing the genuine hurt slip though the cracks as he tried to keep his lip from trembling. She ventured this was the first time he had said the sentiment aloud. “Or maybe the spell just wore off.”
“Or maybe it just gave up,” he said with a hurt chuckle. “I mean, it makes sense; maidens didn’t favor me before, why would they ever start now? I was better off sleeping forever, giving the world some peace.”
“William, don't say that,” she said, taking his hand. He didn’t flinch at her dirt covered hands.
“It’s true, is it not?” He sighed, focusing on her knuckles decorated with grass stains and tiny scars from the thorns she did not fear. “I cause you nothing but trouble despite you showing me nothing but kindness.”
“Well technically I did threaten to feed you to my plant,” she reminded him. It was certainly a unique first impression.
“Twas for my own good,” he said. “Plus knowing you as I do now, I know it was merely a jest to teach me a lesson. You are kind and patient and I’m just a nuisance.”
“No you’re not!” She insisted. “Okay, well maybe a little at first, but you’ve changed! You’re still learning and adapting, growth doesn’t happen all at once overnight.” She gestured to her garden as proof, a mixture of progress and color. “Love is the same way, ya know. Usually you have to get to know someone first before you label them as your ‘true love.’” She carefully plucked a vibrant yellow flower and placed it behind his ear.
“So… you don’t believe in love at first sight?” He asked timidly as she went back to her gardening.
He remembered when he first saw her, how there was a rosey spotlight around her like a halo. How time slowed down so he could soak in every detail of her beauty, memorize her voice and her movements before reality set back in and with it brought a new breed of confusion. He didn’t know better, but upon reflection the whole ordeal felt like what the poetry he had read in secret during his studies labeled as the phenomenon of love at first sight. His eyes had not seen such a thing before and ever since.
“Hmmm, not really?” Paulina pondered. “I think it’s different for everyone, but I also don’t think I’d want to marry someone I don’t know who kissed me while I was sleeping.”
“That is a fair point,” William chuckled, leaning over to help her make another hole in the ground for her next round of seeds. “You’re correct, as usual.”
“Exactly, and I’m also correct when I say if you want to fall in love then you will,” said Paulina. “You just have to give it time, it’s not something you can force.”
“You know… much about love then?”
“I mean, my dads really love each other but they didn’t get married the second they met,” she said. “They got to know each other first and they didn’t meet the way they thought they’d meet their spouse. Everyone’s story is different.”
“But it’s also possible that some of us aren’t meant to have a story.”
She couldn’t deny that, but she refused to accept a world where a boy who seemed to cherish love so much wasn’t meant to have it. “Maybe she was able to wake you because she was meant to introduce you to your true love.”
“Perhaps,” he said, his mind fully focusing on how she had been the first person Luz had introduced him to. He couldn’t complain about that logic.
“It also might help if you had a crush first,” added Paulina, carefully pressing the dirt back into the ground as though tucking it into bed.
“Like a duel?”
“Oh well, a crush is like… what comes before someone is your true love,” she tried to explain without divulging how complicated they could truly get. “Like, having positive feelings about someone, and wanting to spend time with them without, like, getting married after a few days. Just like thinking of them romantically.”
“I think I may… have formed this crush.”
“Oh! On who?” She asked with enthusiasm that made him quiet. Paulson wore her heart on her sleeve, but he had trouble expressing anything that was not deeply rooted in fact. Or at least, the facts he had been feed. A few moments ago he didn’t have the words to describe his feelings let alone validation their were sinful. He didn’t know the proper way to share them.
“Wel… um…”
“Oh, I’m so sorry,” said Paulina quickly, sensing the answer was hard for him to bring forth. “I didn’t consider it could be someone from your original time. I’m sorry if that was too forward, you don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.”
“And… not wanting to share it doesn’t make it wrong?” William asked.
“Of course not,” she assured him. “You’re allowed to have secrets, and if you want to tell me eventually that’s fine too; you decide when and if you’re ready. I mean, I’ve had tons of crushes on very different people but sometimes they’re just something small, ya know? Sometimes they take awhile to figure out and sometimes they go away on their own, each one is different.”
“Has there ever been one you weren’t able to escape?”
“Well, I don’t know if I would word it like that,” she chuckled. “Having a crush is supposed to be fun, it’s exciting. And sometimes scary, but that also makes it fun. Like a rollercoaster.”
“A roller… coaster?”
“Oh yeah I forgot,” she giggled. “I’ll have to show you one.”
“A… crush?”
“No a rollercoaster,” she said.
“Ah, haha yes of course,” he laughed nervously, painfully aware that he could not seem to stop. “So w-what does one do if they don’t wish to have the crush dissolved?”
“Well I guess you could ask the person you have a crush on to go on a date with you.”
“And a date is like… a courtship, yes? I would seek to woo them?”
She giggled. “Yes, you would seek to woo them.”
He didn’t know what he said that was so humorous but he’d say it everyday for the rest of his life it meant getting to hear her laugh like that.
“Ah, well then. That’s another obstacle, as I know not the way to do so,” he said with a slight frown. “Especially in this foreign, modern land I feel that any outing I plan would not be up to her standards.”
Paulina’s ears perked, her first suspicion dashed as William made it clear the person he liked was someone he had met since he had awakened, which meant it was more than likely that she knew the person as well.
She wondered how well she knew them.
“I mean, like you said I still have much to learn about this world and this time,” he sighed. “But regardless, I’m still myself and I can’t help but feel as though someone discovering I have this crush for them would be most unwanted.”
“I don’t think so,” said Paulina. “I think they’ll think it’s sweet.
“Surely you jest,” he scoffed. “You’re kind to spare my feelings but I’m sure if this person was aware of my thoughts regarding them they’d be repulsed and uncomfortable.”
“Well I’m sure they’d be perfectly fine with it,” she insisted. “After getting to know you these last few months I can tell you’re actually really sweet, even if you don’t think so. Give yourself more credit.”
“Oh so if I were to tell you I fancy you and wish to spend my days with you, you wouldn’t find it revolting?” He asked as though it was the most comical thing he could imagine.
“No.”
“Oh.” He said, surprised at how quickly and confidently she replied. He cleared his throat and dared to continue. “S-so if I were to say that I would consider it an honor to hold your hand and escort you anywhere you wish to go, you wouldn’t find it inappropriate?”
“No.”
“A-and if I told you you have the most captivating, soft eyes I’ve ever seen and that they make precious jewels envious you would be… okay with that?”
“Um…” Paulina found herself speechless, struck by his words like they were an arrow destined for her very heart.
“Oh yes of course that sentiment is made of cheese, as you might say.” He laughed, slightly embarrassed. “I should have realized my attempts at poetry were novice at best. I apologize if the example was offensive, I should have-.”
“No, no it was very nice!” she said quickly, not wanting to prevent him from saying such lovely things. “It was a beautiful thought, Will. I think anyone would like to hear that.”
“Truly? Uh, well thank you,” he said, unable to hide the blush that danced across his freckles. “Eh, but I’m sure you hear things such as that daily from your suitors.”
“My suitors?” She repeated with a snort. “Oof, now that’s a good one.”
But William did not find it humorous. “I’m sorry, I’m confused.”
“Well let’s just say when other witches my age notice me it’s usually not for the best reasons,” she said. “Most of them think I’m weird or creepy.”
“My apologies again, I’m still getting accustomed to the colloquialisms of this time, do those terms mean something different now?”
“No, I’m pretty sure they mean the same thing now as they did back then,” she said with a small smile, secretly recalling how when they first met William had a similar impression of her, though in fairness it was more about the witch aspect than her specifically. She wondered when exactly that had changed. “I’ve never been very popular. In fact, after Amity stopped talking to me and until I met Augustus most of my closest friends were plants.”
“Well perhaps it is because those plants have the sense to appreciate being in the presence of a rose.”
It was her turn to blush now. “Well, aren’t you the secret romantic?” She giggled, impressed with how quickly he had provided the response. They sat in silence a moment as William realized he hadn’t complimented her hypothetically this time and that something in her tone had shifted. As much as Paulina was willing to try and spare his feelings, he knew she would not lead him astray in this manner. She would not lie to him about this, but did that mean her words applied to her?
“Miss Park… I have a favor of sorts to ask of you,” he began, taking a deep breath.
“Of course,” she said, and he was taken back by how quickly she had agreed. She didn’t even ask what was in it for her benefit, like he was worthy of her assistance without any bribery.
“I will admit I know little of the courtship rituals from my time and even less about the present ones and I was hoping that you would be willing to help… educate me.”
“Oh yeah?” She said with a smirk, scooting closer to him. “How so?”
He could feel his hands get sweatier under his gloves. “Well, would I perchance be able to take you on an outing I believe suitable for expressing such… feelings,” he said as he cleared his throat as though the word made him dizzy. “And you advise me on if it was a suitable choice? I can compensate you for your time, I’ve been saving the snails I’ve acquired in exchange for my sewing and tailoring skills. We can have a grand collection of treats!”
“That sounds really nice,” said Paulina, adoring the way his full smile was on display and she could see the gap in his teeth without him shying away, too caught up in his own hypothetical excitement. “I would love to go out with you William.”
“Okay, wonderful,” he managed to squeak, and his eyes lit up in a way Paulina had never seen before. “I will uh I shall make all the arrangements! What day favors your schedule?”
“I’m fine with whatever day works best for you.”
“The sooner the better!” He exclaimed, louder than he intended to. He swiftly adjusted his volume. “I-I just mean for research purposes. I look forward to the learning aspect of the evening, heh.”
“I’m excited too,” she said and he couldn’t control the wide grin that consumed his whole face. She began to pat down the dirt to help support the budding bulb she had been keeping an eye on, ready to bloom any day now. “Do you think at the end you might be ready to tell me who you have a crush on?”
“I think that if everything goes as planned… I will be. Yes.”
1 day til' Christmas
spending a snowstorm with husband!miguel o'hara on christmas eve⋆꙳•̩̩͙❅̩̩͙‧͙ ‧͙̩̩͙❆ ͙͛ ˚₊⋆
2 days til' christmas ← previous part
--------------------------------------------------------
It was the last day of keeping your pregnancy from Miguel and you couldn't be happier; tomorrow he would open his last Christmas gift and see a positive pregnancy test. You couldn't wait to share this great news with him.
The plan was to go to the hospital that morning but you miraculously got snowed in and you hadn't vomited that morning making it crucial to take it slow when drinking and eating.
Normally on Christmas Eve, the two of you shared a bottle of red wine and finished wrapping presents for each other and family and friends.
This Christmas, you would do the same but instead of wine, you’d have eggnog. Every single holiday Miguel is reminded that you hate the idea of egg nog. “Who would ever drink egg milk? That’s weird,” you said.
“I drink said, ‘egg milk’, it's one of my holiday comfort drinks,” Miguel would respond.
“I know but—“ you’d start.
“Please don’t yuck my yum,” he joked. “You’ve never even tried it before,” he continued.
You still had never tried eggnog but now you had a feeling that you’d like it. You took a small sip and your taste buds did pirouettes. Eggnog tasted like a sweet vanilla-flavored version of milk.
“This is good!” you exclaimed.
“Told ya,” Miguel responded as he began to wrap up personalized Fender guitar picks. He always swore Hobie got on his nerves but he still cared. Enough to get him such a valuable yet thoughtful gift.
The two of you enjoyed your drinks and marveled at the gifts you got each other. It was never really a surprise on Christmas day since you always wrapped everything together. There were one or two gifts that the two of you wanted to keep a surprise including yours. "What's this?" Miguel asked as he picked up a small rectangular box that had his name on it.
"That's your gift but I want it to be a surprise," you replied.
"Hmm, interesting," he replied as he put the gift down thinking it was something like a watch or a ridiculously expensive pen like the years before.
After two hours you were finally done wrapping all the gifts. You were both famished afterward. You were heavily craving some hot chocolate and marshmallows but you didn't have any marshmallows. On top of that, the two of you couldn't leave your home because of the snowstorm.
Thankfully, out of all of the random things that Miguel knows how to do, making marshmallows was one of them. You thankfully had all the ingredients, you tried to follow along but it was way too complicated. You sat on your kitchen island and asked him questions while he skillfully made the marshmallows.
You purposefully asked the dumbest random questions and he found it hilarious. While he was letting the marshmallows sit, he let you lick the bowl like you were a child again making cookies with a loved one that let you try the dough.
The two of you had prepared dinner while waiting for the marshmallows to finish setting. Christmas Eve dinner was your favorite because it was breakfast for dinner. This year's menu was eggnog French toast with cranberry jam and cheesy omelets with spinach and tomatoes in them.
In perfect timing, right after the two of you finished eating and cleaning up after your meal, the marshmallows were done. The two of you got comfy and cuddled on the couch wrapped in blankets watching Holidate with mugs with steaming hot cocoa in hand.
The night was perfect and your heart raced with excitement of what was to come the next morning. You fell asleep halfway through the movie so Miguel carried you to your shared room.
--------------------------------------------------------
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The lovers were nestled all snug in their bed
While visions of a baby shower danced in your head
Santa sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle,
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."
. . .
to be continued → Christmas Special
Hi dear author. First and foremost I'd just like to say that your work is simply marvelous. I was avoiding it like the plague for like a year but yesterday I buckled and told myself I'll give It a fair shake and now I'm hooked. The way you write just makes you completely immersed into the story and I genuinely felt as if I'm there on the court playing and having to win under any circumstance. And that's rich coming from me because I hate sports. Not to mention all the characters that you meet on a regular are just so well written, especially the RO's. I went into the book thinking I'll be having the biggest rivalry with Rayyan but instead we're becoming doubles besties. Also Sam, my beloved, I'd die for you (although G almost stole my heart, but only almost. Twas a big temptation but I can't do Sam like that).
Speaking of Sam, I have a question. We haven't seen them play yet and we only got crumbs and pieces about their proficiency, so I'd like to ask how good is Sam ? Are they a formidable opponent about on par with us ? Perhaps somewhere around Emerson's or Jacks' level ? Better ? Will we get to see them kick ass ?
With all that being said, thank you for this amazing book and I can't wait for the full release. Take care!
Thank you soo so much for the loveliest comment!! Honestly so thrilled that you gave CT:OS a try and enjoyed it even though you're not a sports fan (honestly, same for G. G's probably wondering how they ended up befriending a jock and getting dragged to all their matches).
Love the sneaky unexpected Rayyan friendship! Rayyan who's not romanced can honestly be such a dark horse awesome friend to have.
As for Sam's standard, I think the thing about Sam is their inconsistency and lack of competitive do or die spirit. Some days they play magical and absolutely NO ONE can beat them. Sometimes playing style is just made to destroy their opponent. Sometimes, it's the opposite. They lack the same "I'll grind out a win even if it costs me my soul, no such thing as a bad day" spirit that the top players have. That said they're extremely talented (soft hands) and very tactically astute. They're also a highly emotional player, meaning if they've lost confidence or aren't comfortable for whatever reason, they could play terribly, but if they're feeling good and inspired, perhaps by other aspects of their lives, they could play like an absolute beast.
On a good day I think they could go 50-50 with Jacks. On one of those days when everything aligns, Sam in GOATed mode could probably go toe to toe with Deepal and give even Tobin and Rayyan a run for their money. On a normal day they'd probably be around Emerson's level though their playing style is so different that they might have vastly different outcomes against the same player. On a bad day they could be anywhere between Max to Akimi or even Lee's standard.
If I had to choose, I would probably pick Mission Marvel. That episode completely breaks the reality of PnF and serves no purpose other than to have a Marvel crossover. I feel like that's the reason most crossovers exist, but still, this one seems like the most pointless and least interesting to me.
"Phineas and Ferb Get Busted!" was the Most Pointless Episode of Phineas and Ferb
No. Really.
It's supposed to be a "what-if" situation to show why we shouldn't necessarily ROOT for Candace's endeavors, and yet Dan and Swampy have made it clear that Linda would NEVER actually do that to Phineas or Ferb. So there was literally no point in that episode existing because that "what-if" isn't even possible.
Tumblr media
By all accounts, this episode should not exist and honestly just raises more questions than it answers. And I'm not just saying this because this episode rubs me the wrong way in general, the episode even has the whole thing take place in a dream, so even the creators knew this was a pointless story. And yeah, PnF is episodic, not all the episodes have a point, but they also feel like they BELONG within the series - but this one, I feel like we could've done well without. It exists purely to entice the curiosity of the fans and nothing else, and it doesn't even do it right because this isn't even a scenario that would realistically happen outside a dream within a dream.
Now you could argue that, perhaps, this is what CANDACE might've thought would happen if Phineas and Ferb got busted...but you'd be wrong! Because this dream was in PERRY'S dream! NOT Candace's! So it's not even introspection into Candace's psyche or her motivations or what her thought process was in all of this, the only noteworthy thing we get is Perry's fear of losing his owners, which you could've put in ANY OTHER EPISODE and it would've worked just as well - not to mention that it was a part of his character that we just ASSUMED he was already afraid of given it was part of his goal not to be discovered.
So in the end, this episode shouldn't have existed. I'm not saying that anyone is wrong for enjoying it, and perhaps that itself is enough to justify its existence, but it really shouldn't have existed.
