Martin Meisner (Grimm) - AU Crossover - Chapter 1
Tumblr media
Your abilities have always put you in some unfortunate positions.
This time was by far the worst.
When it first hit you, you barely had a chance to gather yourself. One second you were in your living room, the next your body had taken you to what appeared to be some kind of raid. You were kneeled and when you looked up, there were two men standing over you.
If you could really call it that. One had his hand outstretched and his face was definitely not that of a man. They looked surprised at your presence and you saw another kneeled right next to you holding his throat, eyes bleeding.
You had about five seconds to decide who was friend and who was foe. The man on the floor next to you fighting for a breath was clearly the one that needed saving. Without a second thought you grabbed his shoulder and both your bodies disappeared, pulled right into a portal.
The next time you landed, you fell on your back at the sudden jump. He had the same reaction, still gasping for air. There was still a trail of blood going down his eyes. You scrambled to his side, and it took him a moment but he seemed to finally pull in a steady breath, eyes returning to normal. His eyes darted around the room, and now that he was no longer hunched over, you were relieved.
“Who..are you..”
He slowly got to his feet, and when you saw his stature, you swallowed, suddenly wondering if you’d made the right decision. You tried to make a run for it, but he grabbed you, pinning you to the floor.
“Where are we, what did you do!!”
He seemed pissed. Given the circumstances, you couldn’t blame him. You caught an accent in his tone. You gulped, no longer resisting.
“I-I’m a (Y/N) Chavez!”
You were cowering like a mouse, and he finally seemed to relax. He pulled back, looking around your room in confusion.
“How did we get here?”
“I-I brought you here.”
There was still a defiance in his eyes. The kind that alerted you that this man could snap you like a twig if he wanted to.
“How did you even find me?”
You wish there was a simple way to explain this.
“I can’t really explain it. This is going to sound crazy but right now, you’re in another universe.”
His brows furrowed.
“Another universe?”
You nod, backing against the wall.
“I-I’m not really sure how it works, but whenever someone of significance in the world is in trouble my powers activate. I-I can’t really control it, but there was a reason I showed up to help. You’re important to the world in some way. At least that’s how she explained it to me.”
“Who is she?” He pressed.
You scratched your head.
“She called herself the Ancient One. She just popped up and kept ranting about how I was called to help others. People who are special like me. At first I thought she was crazy but last week I met four mutant ninja turtles. Either I’m losing my mind or the world is a lot more complicated than we realize.”
He still looked as though he was processing it. When he lifted his hand and wiped the blood away from his eyes, you just studied him. You weren’t sure what war he was fighting, but he’d clearly needed the hand.
“Those men..who were they?”
You had to ask, because you didn’t imagine the beast that had been standing there dressed in a suit.
“Really bad people. You need to take me back to Portland.”
You shake your head.
“I can’t.”
He didn’t look pleased, and when he started walking towards you in a threatening way, you panicked, backing into the wall, lifting your hands defensively.
“I-I’m not trying to trap you I swear I just can’t!!”
He stopped when he was right in front of you. The fact that you hadn’t been beaten into a pulp yet was a good sign.
“Why can’t you?”
You peeked an eye open. He was still glaring. You carefully opened your eyes, lowering your hands.
“I-I already told you, I can’t control this. We’re in a whole other universe. You can go back to Portland now, but it won’t be the same place you left from. When it’s time for you to return, my powers will activate again. Until then you have to stay here, stay safe.”
His frown was still set, and without so much as a word, he turned, walking away.
“W-Wait! Where are you going!!”
“To get some answers.”
He slammed your door upon exit and you just sighed. You have no doubt that he would be back when he realized all you were saying was true. You were just wondering if it was such a good thing.
He scared the crap out of you. But you were pretty sure he was a good guy. Your powers had never made a mistake. He was just one of those tough types. Kind of like that Castle guy you rescued once. The only good thing that ever came from these powers is the long list of allies you’ve made throughout the multiverse.
All you could do was wait.
So that’s what you did.
Returning to your normal life, you tried not to think about the muscular stranger. You realized then that you hadn’t even gotten a name. It’s been a week and he hasn’t popped up yet. You’re a little worried, but you also know that when the time comes, you’ll be transported to him, so there was really no need to overthink it.
Your day job as a librarian didn’t exactly help to keep your mind off your troubles. By the time your shift ended and you returned home, all you wanted was a warm bath and maybe a tub of ice cream. You dropped your keys, reaching for the light.
“You should get better security.”
The voice made you scream and a lamp flickered on. He was sitting there casually and you placed your hand over your chest, annoyed.
“What the hell is wrong with you, are you trying to give me a heart attack!!”
He stood, and now you weren’t as confident.
“O-On second thought you can scare me as much as you want.”
This guy was the definition of intimidation. He stopped right in front of you as if assessing something.
“You were telling the truth. This isn’t the place I came from. Neither is Portland.”
You suppose you understood why he didn’t just take your word for it.
“Y-Yeah.”
You were just standing there awkwardly. When he moved, you flinched. It took you a moment to realize that he’d just held out his hand.
“My name is Martin, Martin Meisner.”
Cautiously, you took his hand, giving it a shake.
“N-Nice to meet you.”
From that moment you knew that this whole partnership would take a while to settle in. You tried to provide as much as you could to help him feel more comfortable. He was in a foreign universe with no friends or family to speak of. That night you both sat, discussing what the next steps were.
“So you can’t take me back?”
“Not until it’s time. Usually it kicks in a few days later depending on the circumstance.” You’d never been with anyone for a week. That’s why you’re still surprised that your powers hadn’t been triggered yet.
“Until that happens I’ll need to blend in. I got a job at a diner down the street.” He informed.
“What? Already? It's only been like a week.”
This guy was no joke.
“We need to be careful. The people I dealt with are dangerous. It's stupid to let your guard down.”
“Don’t worry, they can’t touch us. Even if they somehow made it here, they can’t harm you here. This isn’t your universe, so here you have a sort of a shield. Anything outside of this particular universe can’t touch you while you’re here.”
“Really?”
You nod.
“I guess those are the perks of being an interdimensional visitor. You’re safe for the time being. That being said, things within this universe can hurt you. If you get shot or stabbed or any other kind of injury, you’ll be vulnerable. I can only protect you from what’s out there, not what’s in here.”
“Understood. Thank you.”
That was the first thing he said that didn’t seem like a threat.
“Y-You’re welcome.”
It felt easier now that it didn’t seem like he would drop kick you.
Since that day you both fell into a groove. Some of your neighbors were curious about the titan of a man that was coming and going from your place, but none of them ever questioned it. You know a part of it was fear. Meisner never smiled. He had this whole bodyguard aura about him that just made you feel like you were in some kind of action movie.
You never really had a problem. He went to work, came back and even gave some of his salary to help you with your rent. You insisted that he didn’t have to, but he wasn’t really the type to take no for an answer. For the first month he had a bit of a schedule. Work, gym, reading, and sleep.
He rotated his activities in a way that made you think that he was used to undercover work. It was like he was moving under the assumption that he was being tracked. You supposed some habits might have been harder to break out.
That first month, he wanted to know everything. When your powers started, how they worked, where they came from.
“The first time it happened I was pretty young and I..I might have killed my parents.”
Meisner was standing with his arms folded, listening.
“You killed them?”
Your head dropped in your hands.
“I’m not sure. The first time I used my abilities it took them, both of them. I have no idea where they are, if they’re still alive. I just try to tell myself that maybe they..they survived.”
He wasn’t sure what comfort he could provide. Everyone he knew was either dead or in danger of getting killed. It was hard to form relationships when you were fighting in a war.
“If they’re anything like you, they’re probably fine.”
You lifted your head, sending him a small smile. With a little laugh you leaned back on the couch.
“So where you’re from there are these people with monsters inside of them called Wesen and they were trying to start a revolution to run the world?”
“Basically.”
You laugh.
“My life is starting to feel like paradise compared to yours.”
“It’s messy. That’s why I have to get back.”
You can’t say that you didn’t see that coming.
“I wish I could just send you back, but I’ve never really learned how to control this to the point that I could consciously make a jump."
Meisner moved closer, taking a seat next to you.
“Have you ever tried?”
Your fists tightened in your lap.
“Once when I..when this woman tried to kill me. I-I got away but since then I’ve just been scared. I’m just terrified if I use it too often or too recklessly I might get the wrong kind of attention. I’m not really much of a fighter. As long as I just let it do its thing, then I’m safe.”
“You can’t fight?”
It’s funny that he even asked.
“You can’t tell? I’d sooner run than try to take on someone. I know my strengths. Fighting isn’t one of them.”
Meisner nodded, then stood.
“Change into something more comfortable. We’re going for a run.”
You stumble to your feet.
“W-What! What do you mean by a run?”
“I’m going to train you.”
He must be joking.
“You r-really don’t have to. I’m fine.”
Also you were possibly the least athletic person in the universe.
“The longer you stick around talking the more miles I’ll add to the run. Meet me downstairs in ten minutes.”
Just like that he was heading for the door.
“W-Wait Meisner! D-Damn it!!”
You were stuck.

Griffin Dunne by Lynn Geller (INTERVIEW Magazine, May 1985)
At 29, Griffin Dunne has seen the movie business from many different perspectives. Born in New York City to Ellen Griffin Dunne and television producer-turned-writer Dominick Dunne, Griffin grew up in Los Angeles and is the nephew of Joan Didion and John Gregory Dunne. Eleven years ago, he returned to Manhattan to pursue an acting career and, after roles in Off-Broadway plays, television, and “An American Werewolf in London,” teamed up with Amy Robinson and Mark Metcalf [misprinted with an e at the end] to produce the film “Chilly Scenes of Winter,” in which he had a small part. He and Amy went on to produce “Baby, It’s You” and, most recently, Martin Scorsese’s “After Hours,” starring producer Griffin Dunne in the male lead. As if this weren’t enough responsibility, the past year has also included acting roles in the films “Johnny Dangerously” and this spring’s “Almost You.”
Looking remarkably fit for such a busy man, Griffin strode into the Lion’s Head in Manhattan only fifteen minutes late and carrying a briefcase full of future projects.
LYNN GELLER: You come from a literary family--your aunt, uncle and father are writers--were there any actors before your generation?
Griffin Dunne: Well, my mother was an actress until she had children, meaning me. I was the first. She was raised on a ranch in Nogales, Arizona, and my grandfather sent her to school in the East. My father was an actor then and he met her at a play. Actually, she hated being an actress.
LG: I didn’t know your father had been an actor.
GD: He wanted to be an actor before he became a producer. He was a stage manager and actor, studying with Stanford Meisner, who ran the Neighborhood Playhouse. Meisner told him he would never be a leading man because he was too short. When I say short, I mean my height, five-seven, five-eight. He left the profession because he wanted to be a leading man, not a character midget, or whatever he thought he would be. This was in the pre-Dustin Hoffman days. He became a stage manager for live TV, everything from Howdy Doody to Playhouse 90 in the ‘50s. When I was two, he got a job in L.A. and that’s where I was brought up.
LG: Is that home?
GD: Well, yeah, home is where the mother is, but I’ve lived in New York for eleven years.
LG: Why did you move here--you went to school in the East?
GD: I went to boarding school in the East [more specifically, Fay School in Boston, Massachusetts, based on a New York Times article from the -late ‘90s and the Alumni page] , a pre-prep school that was very repressive. Coats and ties, whippings--if you ever saw the Lindsay Anderson movie If... you know what I’m talking about. You stay through eighth grade and then hopefully you graduate and go somewhere like Exeter and Andover.
LG: Did you?
GD: My response was to get the hell away from the East Coast and go to a liberal arts school in Colorado called Fountain Valley.
LG: I know about that school. That was supposed to be a very wild place.
GD: Well, I was hoping it would be. It was wild in my wildest imagination. You could grow you hair as long as you wanted and you were allowed to smoke cigarettes. You could pretty much get away with anything, but I did manage to get myself kicked out.
LG: What did you do?
GD: I smoked dope and a teacher saw me through a window. The next night I was going to appear in Othello, and I never got to do the play.
LG: So you were acting at an early age. Was that because of your parents?
GD: No. I was planning to be a writer. But a guy who taught acting talked me into auditioning for Zoo Story, the Edward Albee play. I got the part and that was the end of that.
LG: How old were you when you got kicked out?
GD: I was 17 and almost finished. They wouldn’t let me graduate, which was really depressing. It was more depressing that I didn’t get to play Iago. They felt that my performance would be tainted by the fact that I had been kicked out and I might be unduly rewarded by applause.
LG: What did you think you might do after that?
GD: Be an actor. I finally got some work. I was in a movie called The Other Side of the Mountain.
LG: Then you came to New York?
GD: No, then I got a job on a television series called Medical Story. I had about ten lines. I played a doctor, stuffing an IV in Linda Purl’s veins [misprinted as Linda Pearl] and answering Meredith Baxter Birney when she came in and said, “What’s the diagnosis, David?” I’d memorized the diagnosis, which was complicated medical jargon.
LG: What did you use for inner motivation?
GD: My major motivation was to say the words correctly. I figured if I did it like a real scientist, I’d pull off a real character coup. Then right as we were about to roll, the medical adviser on the show came over and said that the diagnosis wasn’t accurate, we had to change the description. They changed the lines and every time we’d go for a take, I couldn’t remember the lines and I’d clam up. The director would go, “Cut. What’s your problem? What is your problem?” I said I needed five minutes, so he said, “Okay, five minutes, the kid’s got five minutes.” I went into a little room and I was so nervous about ruining my career that when I went to light a cigarette, I set my lip on fire. So when I went back to give the diagnosis I hadn’t memorized in the first place, I lisped. The director was furious. He said, “Cut. What’s the accent? Are you doing an accent on me?” Finally, the actress, Linda Purl, took out one of my pens in my top pocket and without me knowing it, she wrote out the diagnosis on her arm, where I was to insert the IV. So when they said, “Roll ‘em,” I had no idea at first what my line would be and then I looked down at her arm and there it was. It was very sweet of her.
[Based on the available information I have, the Medical Story episode that Griffin Dunne was on was titled “Up Against The World” or “Us Against The World” depending on what you check. The episode is said to have aired December 4th, 1975. All I could find on the show was a promo on YouTube.]
LG: You must have fallen in love.
GD: I did, but we never got to say goodbye. So I got the lines out, but what I realized from that experience was...nothing. Absolutely nothing, but to have a cigarette in your mouth when you go to light one. Shortly after that I moved to New York and signed up at the Neighborhood Playhouse.
LG: Because your father had gone there?
GD: I didn’t know he’d gone there until I was already in there and he told me the Stanford Meisner/leading man story.
LG: While you were studying acting, did you work as a waiter?
GD: Yes. At Beefsteak Charlie’s for a limited engagement. At Joe Allen once for two weeks. I lied and said I was experienced and I clearly wasn’t. That was enough to get me the job at Beefsteak’s. I hung in the longest there--they liked my work.
LG: Then you would go on auditions? Is that what you do when you’re a waiter/actor?
GD: When you’re a waiter/actor with no agent, you read Backstage and go out for plays that you never see in ads for openings. They never appear as productions. I went to an audition for an original play once, written and directed by a woman with a long Russian name. She thought I was perfect for the part. It was the first time a director said, “You are going to be great, you’re it.” She told all the other actors to go and took me out for coffee. I couldn’t believe my luck--I’d just arrived in New York. She took me out, we talked intensely, and at some point I realized she was stark raving mad. She had this long scarf that dragged behind her picking up dirt and pizza crust. I looked closely at her and realized she was a bag lady. I realized that anyone can hold an open casting call, a trick I haven’t really employed yet as a way to meet new and exciting people.
LG: How much does it cost to take an ad out? As much as a bag lady collects in a day?
GD: No, these people weren’t quite bag. They have apartments and enough money to be able to decide, is it Safeway tonight or an ad in Backstage? At some point, they just cross that line.
LG: How did you get involved in producing?
GD: Well, Amy Robinson, Mark Metcalf and I were unemployed actors hanging out together. We were working on the play Cowboy Mouth, which we were going to do for ourselves and hopefully get a production. That never happened, but the three of us had a lot of energy together. Eventually that translated into our trying to get a movie off the ground. Amy loved the book Chilly Scenes of Winter by Ann Beattie, and we agreed. That became our first project. We were all frustrated at being out-of-work actors. At the time I was working at Radio City Music Hall selling popcorn. I carried around a big set of keys as the manager of the popcorn concession. I wasn’t getting a lot of feedback on my work.
LG: Had you ever thought of producing before?
GD: I never had dreams of producing, but I was with Amy and Mark and what we wanted to do was much closer to what I wanted to do than what I was doing. It felt as good as acting.
LG: How did you end up doing Baby It’s You?
GD: I was in Poland acting in a TV movie called The Wall. Amy was talking about the idea for the film before I left. It was loosely based on her life, about a middle-class girl who gets involved with one of her classmates, a guy from the other side of the tracks. While I was away, she got John Sayles involved. We discussed it over the phone from Poland, the conversations closely monitored by the hotel staff. God knows what they made of it. But I didn’t have too much to do with development.
LG: You mean in terms of the story?
GD: More in terms of getting the development deal at the studio. Amy and I have a very good relationship. We both rely on each other’s opinions and support. We were both line producers on the film. Our job was to keep things rolling and to make sure that John Sayles had everything he needed.
LG: Are you good at that?
GD: Yes, to my surprise. I never considered myself much of an organizer, but it turns out I’m good with money and at getting along with people, making sure that everyone has what they need and keeping those needs within the budget.
LG: Let’s talk about some of the films you’ve been acting in recently. Have you seen Almost You yet?
GD: Yes. I liked it. The characters were incredibly human and sympathetic. And screwed up. Not homicidal--but normal, confused human beings. My character in particular was a very confused fellow.
LG: That was a movie where someone approached you with a script. What made you decide to take it on?
GD: Well, Adam Brooks, the director, had a script he’d been telling me about when he was a script supervisor on Baby It’s You. One day, when I was living in a beach house with Brooke Adams, he came up with the producer, Mark Lipson, and the script. We had a great day at the beach. Brooke cooked this great meal. After they left, we read the script and thought it was really charming, funny. Brooke and I wanted to work together and this seemed perfect. We said yes, thinking, this sweet little picture is never going to get made anyway, but, of course, we’ll do it if it does. Ha ha ha. All we did was say yes, and Mark and Adam took the ball and ran with it. The next thing I knew, we had a start date.
LG: What was the time lapse between those two events?
GD: Six months. It was shot in February. Very quick--I was pleasantly surprised.
LG: But at this point you’re no longer living in that beach house?
GD: Six months is also a very. very long time. A lot can happen in that time. Brooke and I aren’t living together anymore, nor were we when we did Almost You.
LG: Wasn’t that hard?
GD: It was interesting. We get along very well. We’re good friends, and we were very professional. I think we both dreaded the idea of letting the crew think there was something more to this than there was.
LG: Do you think people see you as wearing two hats now, actor and producer?
GD: It’s hard to tell. I don’t really know. I have noticed that scripts that are submitted to Doubleplay Productions that have a character that is anywhere from 20 to 35, they say, “This would be a good part for you.” I don’t know if that’s supposed to be a lure.
LG: Well, aren’t you looking for movies to produce that you can act in?
GD: Whatever movies Amy and I decide to do, it’s totally collaborative. I can see doing a movie that I would rather produce than act in, but it would have to be very special, like Chilly Scenes of Winter or Baby, It’s You. But doing After Hours revitalized my interest in acting, it really inspired me. So my dream is to be able to continue producing movies with Amy that I can act in.

Protective Parents - Martin Meisner
Tumblr media
Pairing: Martin Meisner x reader
Requested: Yes!
Warnings/notes: Some short Meisner, requested by anon. I changed up the request a little bit, and I haven’t actually read through it so it probably sucks. But I hope you enjoy, and keep sending Grimm requests, preferably romantic!
Wordcount: 1379
Summary: You’re dating Meisner and Trubel teases you both that you treat her like your daughter, the morning takes a bit of an unexpected turn.
Ever since you and Meisner moved in together, Trubel had been spending more time at your shared apartment than she did at Nick and Adalind’s. You didn’t mind, of course. You knew that she was close with your boyfriend and you had taken a liking to her, too. But now you felt responsible for her, you and Meisner both, and it could get a bit overwhelming at times, seeing as she wasn’t the most… obedient of people.
You didn’t know when it happened, but you and Meisner had both followed in Nick’s footsteps of feeling like you owed it to take care of the younger girl, and in situations when that need grew a little stronger than it usually did, it could end in one of three ways.
One, Trubel got pissed off about the fact that you were constantly trying to control her life, what she was doing and who she was doing it with. This wasn’t an unusual occurrence when you tried to talk her out of something that could put her in a potentially dangerous spot.
If this didn’t happen, although rarely, she could actually be understanding of your worry for her and agree to compensate a little bit so that she would still be able to do what she was originally planning, all while you and Meisner would be able to feel like she was safe.
As for the third and most normally occurring outcome, Trubel would simply smirk and tease you to no end about the fact that you more or less treated her like parents would their own child. Today was one of those day, as you were trying to talk her out of something like you did every other day.
“I still don’t understand how Nick can be so calm about this.” You threw your arms out in exasperation as you rounded the kitchen island, wiping your hands on a kitchen towel.
Trubel snorted from her seat at the island, her mouth full of eggs. “Because he trusts me and knows I can handle myself, that’s why.”
“It’s not that we don’t know you can handle yourself.” Meisner protested as he joined your side, his hand coming to rest on the small on your back. “But this is a group of Gelumcaedus we’re talking about. We have no idea how many they are, and you’re going into their lair. Without backup.”
“That’s exactly why I’m going there!” Trubel stated loudly, all while chewing loudly. “To check their number so that Nick and Monroe know what to expect when going in for the kill.”
You couldn’t help but scoff and shake your head at that. “I love Nick, but why he keeps bringing you in on his cases is beyond me. One day you’re going to end up getting hurt, and we’ll be left behind to deal with it.”
Rolling her eyes, Trubel kicked her legs off the chair in front of her and sat up straight. “Would it make you feel better if I took Bud with me?”
“Are you kidding me?” Meisner joined in from your side in a pissed off tone. “They would be able to smell him miles away!”
Trubel turned to look at him, crossing her arms. “And they won’t be able to smell me, anyways?”
“That’s exactly the point we’re trying to make.” You groaned, hitting your palm to your forehead in frustration. “You shouldn’t go there without Monroe or Nick. At least they can fight, no offence to Bud.”
Trubel opened her mouth to speak, but Meisner held up a finger to shush her. “Before you say we don’t think you can fight, we know you can. But it’s too dangerous this time.”
The young Grimm rolled her eyes once more, standing up with a very exaggerated sigh and slapping her hands to her thighs. “Alright, you know what?” She asked, plastering on a very forced smile. “I’ll go over to Nick’s and tell him my parents won’t let me go alone.”
This time it was your time to roll your eyes, while Meisner sighed from beside you. “Again with the parent-jokes?” He asked in a tired voice, causing her to laugh.
“What?” She asked, teasing you with a smirk. “You literally act like you’re my parents and I’m your teenage kid going through her rebel phase in life. People wouldn’t be able to tall the difference.”
Snorting, you rolled up the towel you were still holding onto and smacked it to her leg, nodding to the door. “Just go.” You instructed, shaking your head fondly with a small smile playing on your lips. “And not alone.” You pointed a finger to her.
She rolled her eyes for a third time but nonetheless gave you a nod. “Not alone, got it.” She turned around and steered her legs toward the front door, throwing her hand up in a kind of wave. “See you at dinner.”
“I don’t want a single strand on hair on your head touched when you get back!” You yelled after her, but she was already out in the hallways, the front door slamming shut seconds later.
You shook your head with a fond smile, letting out a long sigh. Suddenly, you felt Meisner pull you in closer, pressing your back into his chest and leaning his head into your neck to carefully place a kiss on the sensitive skin.
Your eyes fell closed at the feeling and you put the towel on the kitchen island in order to grab ahold of his forearms as they came to wrap around you securely. You chuckled lightly as you felt him take in a breath on the crook of your neck, the small action tickling you.
“So, how about it, huh?” His voice came, muffled from his face being pressed against your skin and still laced with sleep.
You smiled, humming at the feeling of the kisses he was peppering down your exposed shoulder, one of his hands coming up to move your hair away to better be able to reach your special spots. Frisky behavior like this wasn’t exactly out of the ordinary when it came to Meisner, but it made you melt inside every time.
Of course, he always waited for Trubel to leave before latching onto you like the big teddybear he was.
“What about what?” You hummed, running your thumb over the skin of his muscular forearm, your chest fluttering with the familiar feeling of his warmth rushing over you.
Meisner hummed back, his voice sending vibrations through your neck and causing a shiver to run down your spine. “Parents.” He mumbled back. “Us, being parents.” He clarified.
The second the words left his lips, your eyes were wide open again and you quickly whipped your head around to look at him with a wide smile. “Really?” You asked, maybe a little too quickly. But you couldn’t help but to be excited.
You knew how good Meisner was with kids, after seeing him look after both Diana and Kelly on more than several occasions. But he had never, never, brought up the subject of having children of your own.
You had always wanted kids, but you weren’t one to openly talk about it in fear of making Meisner uncomfortable, seeing as you had never gotten it clear on where he stood on the matter. But now that he actually seemed to be showing interest in it, you couldn’t contain the giddiness raising in your chest.
“Why not?” He asked you back, proceeding to turn you around by your arms, taking you into a firm embrace. “Now that Black Claw is gone, and things are relatively calm in Portland, maybe it would be nice. A family of our own.”
Your smile widened, reaching all the way up to your eyes. “I mean, we’re not getting any younger.” You agreed, trailing a finger down his bare chest. “But if you didn’t hear Trubel on her way out, we already have a kid.”
Meisner chuckled, raising his hands to cradle your face, pulling you closer to his. “Well, I think we’ll be able to handle two of them.”
You smiled, before being brought in by a kiss, slowly but surely being backed away in the direction of the bedroom for a very nice morning.
