A Formula 1 Fantasy Universe using GPM2 2019 Mod: Intro, entry list, and race calendar
Hello there, after a long break from posting stuff on here.
This is going to be a randomized let’s play of Grand Prix Manager 2, using the recently released 2019 mod as a foundation, but with three expansion teams joining in so that we have a full 26 car entry list. I will be taking control as one of the expansion teams, so enjoy the ride!
The 2019 Entry List
Here’s what the lineups look like for all 13 teams after conducting a Draft Lottery and a snake format Fantasy Draft based off the lottery results complete with a preview of what I think the team’s fortunes are. Remember, in F1 each team can only have two race drivers at a time, and a backup reserve driver is highly recommended and actually required by the game itself. That’s the main reason why each team must have three drivers signed before the start of the season!
Mercedes
14 Fernando Alonso
63 George Russell
T 24 Lucas di Grassi
Will Fernando Alonso finally gets his elusive third Driver’s title? With the best overall car on paper, this is his best and probably final chance that he gets to do just that! On the other side of the garage is George Russell, who will make his F1 debut under massive pressures to perform straight away. George already has proven everything in the junior categories, winning titles in every single category of the ladder, F4, F3 and F2. This has the potential to be awesome like their recent successes over the last five years or maybe it would turn into a nightmare like when Alonso had to partner Hamilton in 2007?
Ferrari
27 Nico Hulkenberg
99 Antonio Giovanizzi
R 28 Brendon Hartley
The Number 27 is officially back on a Ferrari! With Ferrari signing Nico Hulkenberg, they have just gotten a driver that was looking for a top tier ride all of this time, and he finally got his wish. He will perform with a chip on his shoulder and maybe take the Tifosi by the neck and push them to work harder than ever to get that elusive team’s title back to Italy. The biggest question mark regarding the Scuderia is the #2 slot with Antonio Giovanizzi, who only has two f1 starts to his name with Sauber as an injury replacement, but he had to struggle with an inferior car, maybe being in an elite team will help him?
Red Bull-Aston Martin
33 Max Verstappen
25 Jean Eric Vergne
T 37 Nick Cassidy
Max Verstappen was going to stay put as soon as it was announced that Red Bull Racing would get the first pick in the lottery. Now, the bigger question, can Max become the second Red Bull driver to win the Driver’s title? His chances are decent but the biggest question mark is the new in-house built Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR1 engine. If it’s reliable, expect them to be contenders for the team’s title, especially if Jean Eric Vergne relishes his second chance in Formula 1, fresh after winning the Formula E Championship. If not, Nick Cassidy, the team’s new tester will have a stab at things sooner than later.
Renault
3 Daniel Riccardo
77 Valtteri Bottas
T 6 Artem Markelov
Mr. Smiley has a new home! After being treated harshly at red bull racing last year, he decided to exit the program altogether and joined a factory team in desperate need of a savior. In addition, Valtteri Bottas, a perfect #2 driver during his time at Mercedes AMG before being let go over the lack of one-lap qualifying pace relative to Hamilton joins the Enstone-based team looking to crack into the big three conversation once again. What does this mean for Artem Markelov, who was looking to crack into F1 after finishing 2nd in F2 during the 2017 season? He will be a hot prospect going forward, that’s for sure.
Haas-Ferrari
11 Sergio Perez
88 Robert Kubica
T 50 Josef Newgarden
Money is starting to be a problem over at Haas especially if the rumors that Rich Energy is a faker happens to be true. In the meantime, they have Sergio Perez’s Carlos Slim backing of companies providing a more stable back-up package if the Rich Energy deal happens to be blocked by a court. On the other side, is an amazing comeback story, Robert Kubica, who almost lost his life before the 2011 F1 season, is officially back in a F1 race seat. There’s no question that his qualifying pace is still great, but how can his race pace be especially considering his physical limitations post-rally crash?
Racing Point-BWT
31 Esteban Ocon
94 Pascal Wehrlein
T 34 Nyck de Vries
Racing Point is now officially a full-fledged constructor now. They still have a customer Mercedes Benz Engine but it’s rebadged as BWT. As for their drivers, they kept Esteban Ocon, a promising talent that is looking for a promotion to Mercedes AMG, when and if Fernando Alonso calls it quits. Pascal Wehrlein, who is back into a F1 race seat after a year’s worth of testing work with Ferrari is the other driver. Nyck de Vries is the team’s reserve driver, after getting his F1 super license thanks in part of his stellar F2 finish last year.
McLaren-Cosworth
44 Lewis Hamilton
20 Kevin Magnussen
T 40 Paul Di Resta
Just as Lewis Hamilton was looking like he could potentially get his 6th drivers title, the FIA has decided to conduct a sport-wide fantasy draft in an effort to stop his domination. Despite this, Lewis Hamilton has returned back to McLaren, after Zak Brown selected him 3rd overall in the draft. With McLaren rebuilding after years of devastating management calls since Lewis left before the 2013 season, the hope is that he turns them back into title winners. His teammate would be Kevin Magnussen, who is also returning to the team for a second stint. Hopefully, the in-house built Cosworth engine is up for the task.
Alfa Romeo
5 Sebastian Vettel
13 Pastor Maldonado
T 36 Luca Ghiotto
The newly renamed Alfa Romeo F1 team, who is now building their own engines, has managed to steal an elite level qualifying talent to spearhead their rebirth since flopping big time during the ground effect era of the early 80’s. Sebastian Vettel who failed Ferrari thanks to the massive pressures of driving for the Tifosi, has returned back to the team that gave him his F1 debut in 2007. However, in a highly debatable move, the Alfa Romeo Management decided to give the second seat to an interesting driver, Pastor Maldonado, who was out of F1 since the end of 2015 has somehow got more money to spare!
Toro Rosso-Honda
10 Pierre Gasly
23 Alexander Albon
T 53 Alexander Rossi
Entering year two of the Honda engine partnership, Toro Rosso are hoping to build on a modest start by improving driver talent across the board. Pierre Gasly stays put which is a good thing for research and development work. Alexander Albon, a relatively late addition to the draft, was selected as the team’s second driver after initially was hoping to crack into Formula E instead. As for the test driver, that role falls on a resurgent Alexander Rossi, after spending the last three years back in the United States honing on his race craft in the IndyCar championship.
Williams-Mercedes
7 Kimi Raikkonen
4 Lando Norris
T 21 Esteban Guiterrez
Things couldn’t get much worse for Claire Williams, right? After going for the extra money in 2018, which backfired them in the worst possible way. They are now going in the opposite direction, going for experience and proven quantities that can help set up and develop a car that desperately needs it. Kimi Raikkonen, an elite racing talent still at this point of his career despite losing some outright one-lap pace over the last few seasons, signs on a one-year prove it deal. For the other seat, they are going with Rookie Lando Norris the 2nd place finisher in F2 last year, who has star level qualities already.
Panthera-Honda (User Controlled by Myself)
16 Charles Leclerc
18 Lance Stroll
T 70 Naoki Yamamoto
Now for the brand-new teams that will enter Formula 1 in 2019. First up, Panthera Team Asia, who will use Customer Honda Engines. It also helps that this expansion team got the 2nd overall pick in the draft and snatched Charles Leclerc away from Alfa Romeo. He can lead this team far if given a solid baseline to begin with. The bigger issue is at the #2 seat, with Lance Stroll, now being separated from his rich dad for the first time in his racing career, after Lawrence decided to run the Racing Point team. How well can he respond to this separation? At worst, Naoki Yamamoto is a quality driver that should get some looks.
SMP-Renault
26 Daniil Kvyat
2 Stoffel Vandoorne
T 35 Sergey Sirotkin
The second of the three Brand-new teams, SMP Racing has decided to go with two drivers looking for fresh starts to their F1 careers after fizzing out with their previous teams. Daniil Kyvat, who bombed out with Red Bull and refined his career with a simulator job at Ferrari the previous year, has a new lease at life with SMP racing. The other seat will be taken by Stoffel Vandoorne, who failed to produce alongside Fernando Alonso at McLaren over the last couple years, but he should be better in a lower-pressure environment. Sergey Sirotkin, the team’s reserve, pays the bills for the Renault engines if anything.
Campos-Porsche
55 Carlos Sainz Jr.
8 Romain Grosjean
T 9 Marcus Ericsson
The last of the three Brand-New teams, Campos Racing has managed to convince Porsche to return to Formula 1 as an engine supplier only. As for their drivers entering 2019, they managed to draft Carlos Sainz Jr. with the 4th pick in the draft, and he will spearhead the charge for this young team that is looking for a role model to rally around. As for the other race driver, they are counting on Romain Grosjean to be less of a crasher in the races and more helpful with feedback during the practice sessions. If that doesn’t happen, Marcus Ericsson, a useful veteran is always welcome to try.

“A Brief Return Back To FS1 On ESPN+” UFC Nashville Fight Preview
(So head up off the jump, I'm traveling to a convention deal gimmick on Friday and rolling back in on Saturday afternoon-ish so chances are I might miss this card even with the app. Either way I'm sure dudes around here will be able to provide the same consistent top flight analysis they always do without me agitating them)
Joey
March 22nd
I feel like we've officially reached our throwback portion of the program. The first few UFC on ESPN+ events have been either really good (Brazil, the most recent one from the UK) or quick and violent enough (Wichita and Prague) to where everything still feels fresh and fun. I don't know if I'd call it a Honeymoon period or just a better understanding of how to broadcast MMA but either way, there hasn't really been a BAD UFC card. This one might be the first throwback to the days of yore. I'm talking about something that feels worse than bad; an inconsequential card where nothing matters and nobody goes anywhere. The show is headlined by a meaningless striker vs striker fight that some folks on the interwebs drummed up as a pseudo dream fight with Showtime Pettis vs Stephen Thompson getting top billing. The co-main event is a genuinely intriguing battle between HWs with Curtis Blaydes taking on Justin Willis and while a great third bout with Nasrat Haqparast vs John Makdessi was scheduled, it got scrapped due to injuries. Now Makdessi vs Peru's Jesus Pinedo is your third fight with Deveison Figueredo vs Jussier Formiga as the fourth support. The rest is a bunch of a blegh but we'll find some good stuff.
Fights: 12
Debuts: Ryan Macdonald, Jordan Espinosa
Fight Changes/Injury Cancellations: 3 (John Makdessi vs Nasrat Haqparast CANCELLED/Jesus Pinedo vs Chris Gruetzmacher CANCELLED/Martin Day OUT, Ryan Macdonald IN vs Chris Gutierrez)
Headliners (fighters who have either main evented or co-main evented shows in the UFC): 4 (Anthony Pettis, Stephen Thompson, Curtis Blaydes, Randa Markos)
Fighters On Losing Streaks in the UFC:
Fighters On Winning Streaks in the UFC: 7 (Deveison Figueredo, Jussier Formiga, Justin Willis, JJ Aldrich, Marlon Vera, John Makdessi, Frankie Saenz)
Main Card Record Since Jan 1st 2017 (in the UFC): 30-8
Anthony Pettis- 2-2 Stephen Thompson- 1-2 Curtis Blaydes- 4-1 Justin Willis- 4-0 Jussier Formiga- 3-1 Deveison Figueredo- 4-0 Jesus Pinedo- 1-0 John Makdessi- 2-0 Luis Pena- 1-1 Steven Peterson- 1-1 Maycee Barber- 1-0 JJ Aldrich- 3-0
Fights By Weight Class (yearly number here):
Women’s Flyweight- 2 (10) Flyweight- 2 (6) Bantamweight- 2 (15) Featherweight- 2 (13) Lightweight- 1 (16) Welterweight- 1 (19) Heavyweight- 1 (8) Women’s Strawweight- 1 (7)
Middleweight- (7) Light Heavyweight- (10) Women’s Bantamweight- (2)
2019’s Records We Keepin Track Of:
Debuting Fighters (7-14): Ryan Macdonald, Jordan Espinosa
Short Notice Fighters (6-6): Ryan Macdonald
Second Fight (18-5): Chris Gutierrez, Bobby Moffett, Bryce Mitchell, Maycee Barber
Cage Corrosion (Fighters who have not fought within a year of the date of the fight) (7-11):
Undefeated Fighters (8-9): Maycee Barber, Deveison Figueredo, Ryan MacDonald, Bryce Mitchell
Fighters with at least four fights in the UFC with 0 wins over competition still in the organization (5-5):
Weight Class Jumpers (Fighters competing outside of the weight class of their last fight even if they’re returning BACK to their “normal weight class”) (7-5): Maycee Barber, Luis Pena, Anthony Pettis, JJ Aldrich
Twelve Precarious Ponderings
1- Who thought this main event was a good idea and why? This has good idea on paper but bad idea in reality draped all over it which makes it hard to stomach as a big fight. It sort of feels like that Urijah Faber vs Frankie Edgar fight except we knew that Faber was successful at 145 lbs so even if it was farcical, we had something to hang our hats on for some intrigue. Wonderboy vs Anthony Pettis doesn't even have THAT going for it since Pettis has never been a successful competitor at 170 lbs IF he's even taken a fight at 170 lbs. If this was some test run 165 lb catchweight bout I'd be intrigued by it but this just feels like a dumb idea on paper that's going to be borderline egregious upon execution.
2- The genesis of this fight is apparently based upon Duke Roufus claiming to have some kind of a strategy to help Anthony beat Wonderboy. What pray tell is that strategy.
3- I wonder if Thompson would've taken this fight if he could've predicted that Till would lose to Masvidal and Usman would beat Woodley. The path to a title shot is so much easier to sneak in now with both out of the picture but Thompson is fighting a monumentally inconsequential fight at the top of the bill of this show. Now granted according to Wonderboy this was SUPPOSED to be Ponzinibbio but Ponz didn't take the fight. Either way, this fight does little to advance his title shot agenda.
4- Does the UFC have a rooting favorite in Blaydes vs Willis? Is this the one genuinely good HW fight nobody cares about?
5- If there was a genuine reason to tune into this show besides "It's UFC!" and "Wonderboy vs Showtime might be weirdly cool!", it's a quartet of superb prospects all on this card worthy of your time. We can begin with Deiveson Figueiredo who has emerged as probably the top up and coming 125er in a dying division. It was rumored that the UFC offered a move up to 135 lbs for Figueiredo who opted instead to keep on kickin' at what remains at flyweight. Joe Benavidez is believed to be the #1 contender (if such a claim can even exist) but the FRESHEST fight for Henry Cejudo is Figueiredo. After that you have Luis "The Violent Bob Ross" Pena who is making the move down to featherweight for some reason after coming short vs Mike Trizano in his last fight. Pena is a really talented fighter who lacks the sort of middle ground in his fight game to deal with strong fighters who can go point A to point B in a gameplan and so the UFC recognized this and gave him a much smaller brawler type in Steven Peterson. That's a fine example of knowing a prospect. Maycee Barber is really young, ultra talented and one of the few bonafide fight finishers at flyweight so expect her to move quick. Lastly, the division may be going away but Jordan Espinosa is a really intriguing fluky record kind of guy (12-5) who has some Jon Dodson in his game. He kicks off the show vs similarly marked prospect Eric Shelton.
6- Is Angela Hill still a thing or has she settled in as a "fun" middle of the pack 115 lber now?
7- Bobby Moffett vs Bryce Mitchell is a weird fight to get a grasp on since both guys have somewhat controversial wins and neither are standout athletes. I can see this being a very fun squirrely fight. It's also worth remembering Bryce Mitchell tore a hole in his ballbag with a power tool and is somehow still competing so god speed to my dude.
8- Is Jussier Formiga the most credentialed "little" fighter (let's say 145 and below) to never get a title shot?
9- CHITO VERA! Marlon Vera returns after smelting Guido Cannetti in his backyard of Argentina to take on Frankie Saenz here in Tennessee. Really like this fight for both guys as Chito has gotten back into a groove after losses to John Lineker (in a fight he did far better than expected) and Douglas Andrade with wins over other dudes at the back end of 135 lbs. Marlon falls into that comfortable resting area between "just a solid action fighter" and "sneaky good" guy and a win over Frankie Saenz could go a long way towards creeping further and further up the latter category.
10- Peru's Jesus Pinedo gets a really tough late notice call up in John Makdessi but there are some avenues he can win this fight. Like most fighters from places like Mexico, Peru, Argentina and so on, they fight with a reckless abandon that comes from raw athletic traits with a lack of high level fight experience. We've seen Makdessi struggle against guys who fight similarly to that and while Makdessi is in the midst of a career renaissance of sorts, he's still a guy who at times needs space and pace to really get going. If it turns ugly and Pinedo can avoid being flattened, he might have a shot.
11- Will anyone from the Chris Guiterrez and Ryan MacDonald fight be in the UFC a year from now?
12- Alexis Davis vs Jennifer Maia has potential to be an all time clunker.

Indeed we have become fully aware of the situation of the fires, but also of the hazardous water and air, which we’re not exactly sure as to the proximity to our claremont UN campus--
We are proposing a satellite campus unification at the Royal School(s) at Washington, we are proposing that, in addition, UN, also allow the Royal School to give Washington University’s Royal School it’s charter to create the necessary annex to Claremont -- so we can make it an MSF UN Annex,
duly noted we need to expand our UN MSF Annex, and it will be at Washington University--, with a UN Charter
We must create and expand the annex to Washington in lieu of the fires, and we’ll connect it with our EPA school and Nobela Schools as an UN-NSF Charter Programs to triage

“I’ve said before that I don’t much believe in coincidences and I don’t. Things either happen for a God-given reason, or they are planned that way by someone deliberately.
In the case of the daytime talkshow queen, Oprah Winfrey, the latter is once again the case. If you haven’t heard, her interview with Katherine Jackson, Joe Jackson and most egregariously, Michael’s children, is scheduled for Monday, November 8th. It’s gut-wrenching enough that she is airing this show at all, but what makes it even worse is that she is airing it immediately following a show on Friday featuring 200 men who were sexually abused as children. There she goes again. Notice the pattern here? Here’s a very brief refresher:
Oprah aired shows on child molestation during the week of jury deliberations in the 2005 trial, she sandwiched the interview with Lisa-Marie Presley in between two shows on pedophilia and child sexual abuse, and now, she is airing the Jackson family interview immediately following a show featuring 200 men who were sexually molested as children. Someone contacted the network and was told that this scheduling was purely “coincidental”. I somehow doubt that, given Oprah’s pattern of behavior in these matters.
Even the most hard-core Pollyanna would have trouble believing this is all unintentional on Oprah’s part. Nor is it coincidence that this media predator is circling the Jackson family like a vulture during her show’s last season. Shameful. Relentless. Ruthless. Disrespectful. Self-serving. I could go on. Michael gave her the biggest ratings ever when he granted her an interview in 1993 and she’s been insatiable ever since, all while abusing his name and legacy at every opportunity.
Now all this said, I know it’s hard but I implore you to avoid watching this show when it airs. Oprah wants her precious. That’s why she does this. Please don’t enable her addiction (ratings) and her obsession (linking child molestation with Michael Jackson by scheduling shows in this manipulative way). If you can, wait until the program comes out on YouTube (it often does within hours of airing) and then watch it after it airs on YouTube. This woman does not deserve to be rewarded for her insatiable and obsessive behavior with good ratings. Quite the contrary.
As for her interviewing the children, Taj Jackson had previously insisted on Twitter that they had not been interviewed, but upon checking further with his family, found that they indeed had. Now, certainly Michael knew that his children would be in the public eye and in the media when they got older. However, I must agree with Randy Jackson that one of the last people Michael would want near his children is Oprah. Certainly it could be worse. The children could be interviewed by Martin Bashir or Victor Guiterrez. Nonetheless, Oprah is a prominent lynchpin in the media, and one which as much as any other, has participated in the media assassination of Michael Jackson’s character. She has insulted and denigrated him many times and so have her guests, making “jokes” and disparaging remarks about him at every chance. She stated after he died that “we’ll never know“, whether he was guilty or not of the allegations against him even though he was fully exonerated in court of law on every single count. She deliberately aired shows about child molestation during his trial, and now, she deftly schedules interviews with his ex-wife, his family and children sandwiched between or directly following multiple shows on child sexual abuse. Here’s what his brother Randy had to say about it, as well as long-time make-up artist and friend Karen Faye:
"I know everyone wants to know my position on the Oprah interview. First let me say that I love my mother and father. I am humbly grateful to have them as my parents, but i don’t always agree with the choices they make. This is one of those times. I found out Oprah was at our family home … my stomach ached and it still hasn’t gone away. I had no prior knowledge this was going to happen. It was deliberately kept from me because they knew I would have tried to stop it."
"I know how Oprah feels about my brother and family. I also know that he would not have wanted this. In fact, she is the last person on earth he would want around his children. I can never forget when she had the show on pedophilia during the jury deliberation process in my brother’s Santa Maria case. That was no coincidence."
-Randy Jackson
"If you saw the pain and tears in Michael’s eyes when speaking of the pain Oprah created for him, you may be a little upset too. Michael actually wept in my presence when speaking of Oprah’s cruelty towards him. I think she caused him great pain. Witnessing Michael’s anguish at Oprah’s actions, I can only deduce, he would not approve of exposing his children to the same pain. But this decision is not ours to make. Maybe we will be enlightened by the interview. There are many sides to Michael’s story. I just personally believe there could have been a kinder and more respectful decision on which interviewer to give it to. All I can share is how much Oprah hurt him when he was alive. I would feel much better if Oprah apologized publicly for misjudging MJ."
-Karen Faye
It’s sad that Oprah can’t see the truth about Michael through her own emotional baggage. Oprah seems incredibly obsessed with pedophelia and child sexual molestation due to her own issues with it in the past and she needs help in dealing with her issues. I do mean that compassionately, having been a victim of sexual molestation myself as a child.
That said though, how dare she continue to incriminate an innocent and deceased Michael Jackson. How dare she abuse his family and children, and continue to manipulate public opinion by scheduling her shows in this way, simply because she cannot see outside her own issues. This self-serving woman has helped destroy the life of an innocent man. She has become what she loathes: an abuser, an opportunist, and a predator who destroys innocent lives for her own personal gain and pleasure, and because of her own personal psychological baggage. Now that Michael is gone, she preys on his ex-wives, his family and his children. And none of this is “coincidence“. Before her baggage blindness destroys more innocent lives, Oprah needs to get off the air and onto a therapist’s couch, and she can well afford a good one.
