For the slightly under 1 month I've been in the United States, it's yet to rain.

I've seen rain around me, and in areas I was in that I have left, but the skies above me remain blue. I'm used to half the year being dry, but the lack of rain while being surrounded by storms in neighboring regions is unsettling.

I sent a photo to my friend with the sky in it, and she told me that the sky "looked so American" [sic].

I currently drive past a town in the distance, with grey streaks of rain falling, the storm falling into the streets, consuming it.

The sky above me is clear blue, nothing but white cirrus clouds to break the monotonous expanse.

Siffrin is of the Lonely.

This is the fear of isolation, of being completely cut off from other people. This is the fear that preys on lone travelers. This is the fear that once trapped an actor in an endless performance, unable to perceive people as anything other than masked audience members and hollow performers. This is the fear that manifested during the apocalypse as a massive empty house that slowly feeds on your memories, making you forget your friends, family and identity until you are left an empty shell, completely alone.

As a rule, the fears are nigh-inescapable. But the Lonely stands apart even from the other entities, because it is actually impossible to escape it on your own. You must remember the people who care about you, even as memory fades and they seem years away. You must cry out for help, or reach out for a lifeline thrown by someone else, even if it feels like dying. Someone who cares about you must come looking for you, and they must not turn back, even if the Lonely tries to drag them in too.

The Lonely is the fear of being abandoned. What could frighten Siffrin more?

You might be able to see it tonight, actually. I went to a place with no light pollution. Just take your Iphone camera and set it to night mode, and hold the camera still for about 10 seconds once you take the photo.

Okay, there's something weird going on with this place, the salt water & waves near this cemetery are kind of seemingly enticing them to come drown in it's waters. In the very least it's messing with these guys' mental states! Pretty freakkyyyy! 👀🌊

Also the repeated emphasis on dreams is interesting this episode, wonder if that'll play a part in something later on. 👀👀

Another way to look at this is asking... Is The Deep a new entity/fear or is it a servant of a fear like The Vast? I stg there was a colossal water monster at some point in The Magnus Archives!

Okay so yeah, there's already a precedent for this. Also feels like The Lonely, The Buried, The Corruption, The Vast, & maybe even The Flesh are all involved in this one though I don't know if Flesh (Ink5oul) is working with or against the other fears at this time.

I've been chewing on what fears the bg3 characters would be because I do that with almost every piece of media I like now.

Gale is the Beholding (hubris, pursuit of knowledge above all else, his ex can literally see everything he does in/with the Weave). You could make an argument for Desolation b/c of the orb but I think that's secondary. Wyll is the Hunt imo, but the Desolation works for him too- I think his situation is similar to that Hunter we meet whose name I'm forgetting, whose inciting incident has to do with the Dark. I thought the same thing about Karlach but I think she's Desolation instead of Hunt, both aesthetically and because she was actively betrayed and is, you know, dying. Shadowheart is the Dark. Halsin could honestly be the Lonely: he's pretty isolated from the people around him emotionally. An island unto himself etc etc. Lae'zel is the End imo. You'd think she'd be Hunt but End fits into Vlaakith's whole deal (victim of the End, avatar of the Hunt?). Astarion could be either the Buried (since that covers abuse as well, he was literally kept underground/out of the sunlight, etc etc) or the Hunt. I'm a bit undecided there. I don't know enough about Minthara to make a call on her and I don't want to just say Web because of Lolth. Slaughter, maybe? Since that fear covers war. Jaheira and Minsc are Hunt too, I think (there's a lot of Hunt but that comes with the territory when you're adventuring).

Gortash is Web and you cannot convince me otherwise. I think Orin is Slaughter but, honestly, Durge seems more associated with the Extinction to me because of Bhaal's end goal. The Desolation and the Lonely tag-teamed Ketheric's ass but he's an avatar of the End. Dame Aylin is an avatar of the Hunt, victim of the Dark, and Isobel is an avatar of the End a la the main End avatar we see (Oliver? I really need to re-listen...)

There's obviously a lot of overlap and bleed because there always is. I've been wanting to make art based off of this but it's not happening anytime soon so I figured I'd shout about it into the void a bit lol

I’m an Avatar of The Corruption just because I relate ALOT to the feeling of disgust, bugs on your skin, janes statement etc 🪱🪱

I’m Marked by The Desolation because y e s. Fire. Arson all that jazz 🔥🔥

And I’m a Victim of The Vast because it freaks the absolute fucking SHIT out of me (Megalophobia etc etc)

If we get HTTYD 1 and the "changes" that Dean is talking about work. AND. They still have the balls to go for the whole trilogy.

I want the original villain for HTTYD 2 to show up. Valka. Cate Blanchett can stay or go, IDK if she can do action, up to her. But Evil Valka was a killer conversation about Dragons VS Vikings + what Hiccup could become if he didn't have human support.

Keep Drago where he is as the 2nd antagonist. If you like Grimmel, throw him in as a companion villain for Drago, make it extra personal for Toothless and Hiccup.

Valka can be an ally for HTTYD 2. but after she's seen her estranged husband die, fought against trappers, seen her son go mad with grief and hoard dragons - she makes up her mind.

Have Valka turn away from the Vikings + try to take the Dragons from Berk to the Hidden World. Have Hiccup be absolutely torn between protecting the Dragons by being with them or letting them go.

mark "mars" oliver - an endless rollercoaster ride. the speed slows down and gets fast again unpredictably, the track goes higher than you can even picture, and you can never quite trust the integrity of the ride. it makes strange noises, creaks and snaps that you can't really see, and was your cart always twisted at this strange angle? you're convinced you're going to fall off, surely, any second now.

rachel prado - a farm. you've worked for months, endured harsh weather and endless hours of physical labour, planting seeds and feeding the cattle. and now it's finally time to eat. god, you're so hungry. the hunger bites at your stomach and makes you feel as though your chest is going to cave in, but when you walk outside, it's all gone. the field is on fire. the cattle are dead and rotting away before your eyes. you fall to your knees, and weep. you will starve.

samis - an apartment. the walls are thin, and you can hear people outside, but you are not allowed to leave. you can hear them talking about you. or, more accurately, people like you. they despise people like you. they talk for hours together, just outside your wall, about how they'd never end up in the situation you're in, because they're just better than you like that. it's been months since you saw another living soul. but if you go outside now, you will be met with their judgemental gazes, the insults and slurs that fall so easily from their lips, you fear they might even physically assault you if they see you. better to just stay inside. after all, you don't want to be an outsider.

a cult of the vast that believes that the true form (or "creator"/manifestation) of the Vast is Asteria

"the falling titan": Asteria is a titaness, and is the goddess of falling stars

delos (the island she becomes/became): islands are surrounded by water. the ocean is notoriously a great thing for the Vast. plus she's a goddess of stars, astrology, and stuff, and that has to do with space which is also great for the vast

she's also connected to prophecy/oneiromancy (divination through dreams), and ofc all of the tma cults have prophets so it works out

(plus metaphorically dreams are endless places/times, so it fits even more with the Vast because the prophets are constantly surrounded by manifestations of the Vast, whether awake or unconscious)

ok. either we have a tmagp exclusive mostly sea based vast adjacent entity or this is just the vast seeping into the tmagp universe.

luke's old non watery band wasn't super successful and he needed money from alice like two months ago while his current 2 watery bands are suspiciously successful. so i think it's probable he's made some sort of deal and/or exchange jennifer's body style to get success. plus a drowning victim with a tape recorder popped up behind their venue and that means interdimensional bullshit to me but i could be wrong
